Link | 2 | 1 | Brief Weeds | Brief Weeds | Brief Weeds | Brief Weeds was a project formed by [a=Guy Picciotto], [a=Brendan Canty], [a=Michael Hampton (3)], and [a=Eddie Janney]. Their two singles were released by K Records in the early 90s, but the music was recorded earlier, during the late ’80s. Though all four performed together in either Rites of Spring or One Last Wish, Brief Weeds was a very different type of thing – spontaneous home recorded music that was heavily informed by ’60s psychedelic pop.

Link | 2 | 1 | Brixton moord en roof orkes | Brixton moord en roof orkes | Brixton Moord En Roof Orkes | Brixton Moord en Roof Orkes are an Afrikaans rock band named after an infamous and now-disbanded police unit, the Brixton Murder and Robbery Squad. "Brixton" here does not refer to the Brixton in London, but to a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa where the members of the band live: Drikus (Brixton) Barnard (on bass and vocals), Ockert (Murder) Greeff (on drums and brandy), Kapelaan Pat Plank (lead guitar) and Andries (Robbery) Bezuidenhout (on guitar and vocals). The band plays a style of music sometimes referred to as "alternative Afrikaans music". The label "alternative" has become problematic though. Originally it referred to a group of Afrikaans musicians who, in the 1980s, used their music to criticize the apartheid establishment through their satirical lyrics.

Link | 2 | 1 | Animal Bag | Animal Bag | United States | Animal Bag | Animal Bag was an alternative metal grunge band from Charlotte, North Carolina, United States, which was active from 1987 through 1998. After some personnel changes, the band congealed around members Luke Edwards (vocals and guitar), Rich Parris (guitars and vocals), Otis Hughes (bass guitar), and Boo Duckworth (drums and percussion) in 1987. After building a following in their native North Carolina, the group relocated to Los Angeles in 1989. Favorable press in newspapers including the L.A. Music Scene, which compared them to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Faith No More, coupled with the exploding alternative music scene, brought the band to the attention of several A&R execs, and Animal Bag was eventually signed to Mercury records in 1992. Their 1992 self-titled initial release mixed acoustic and electric rock and Animal Bag was prominently featured in the pilot episode of My So-Called Life as the party band. The album's first single, Everybody, peaked briefly at No. 29 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart in 1993, and was a minor success in Japan, hitting No. 32 for 8 weeks in March 1993. Their follow-up 1994 album Offering was all-acoustic and did not chart well in the U.S. Mercury was willing to give the band one more chance, and brought in producer Terry Date to helm a return to harder-edged music for the band's 1996 album Image Damage. The album was never released because of inner shakeups at the record label; most of the people who had worked the first two Animal Bag releases left the label. By 1998, the band had broken up and singer Luke Edwards went on to form the bluegrass band Tater. On June 5, 2002, drummer Boo Duckworth died from natural causes at age 35. On March 9, 2010, lead guitarist Richard Parris died. According to the medical examiner, cause of death was a ruptured ulcer. Rich had just recorded an album with his band (with Otis from Animal Bag) M4 Messenger.

Link | 1 | 2 | Biodegradable | Biodegradable | Biodegradable | Nicolas Oesch, Samy Guediche, Max Peterson & Laurent Delhom Biodegradable is a trance project created by 4 friends who met in the San Francisco Bay Area around the year 2000... Since then, they became part of the Consortium of Collective Consciousness (CCC), played as a live act or as djs in most occasions where the party happened, and started a promising series of releases on the international level... Today, they have acquired a strong personal sound, reinforced by their production mastery... Very psychedelic experience in the city where it is most likely to happen... Biodegradable started in the beginning of the year 2000. The founding members, Samy Guediche and Nicolas Oesch are coming from a musical/producer background in Switzerland. They moved to Santa Cruz 7 years ago, started a recording studio and produced various local solo artist and bands, as well as their individual projects. They arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area during the year 1999, setting their studio and base in the East Bay... Along with some friends from Santa Cruz, such as Max Peterson, today one of the producers of Biodegradable, they started Untied States of Consciousness, a collective driven by an innovative psychedelic-flavoured house music. At the Burning Man Festival, later that year, the vision became strong and clear... And the limits of imagination scaterred in the Nevada desert... Then, Samy, Nicolas and Max started to explore a promising style of pure psychedelic trance, with the support of Laurent Delhom, the last member to join, as the contact person. In January 2000, they played for the first time in the home warehouse of the CCC, the "vital" San Francisco trance-art community... The dance floor enjoyed the discovery of a new sound, and Biodegradable joined the CCC a few weeks after, moving their studio into the home base of the collective... The same year, the debut releases on major european trance labels (Flying Rhino Rec, Novatekk Media, Balloonia Limited, were the opportunity to confirm the quality of the production... The electronic sounds take us, and take us back, to the pure essence of the celebration... Many forms of art co-exist for a gathering to reach "unknowned" levels of energy and creativity... In the last two years, the artistic power of Biodegradable added to the intensity of the celebration in the San Francsico Bay Area, and on many dance floors in the world...

Link | 2 | 1 | Venus Sleeps | Venus Sleeps | Dublin | Venus Sleeps | Venus Sleeps are a 4-piece psychedelic doom band from Dublin, Ireland. Formed in the dark recesses of Dublin in 2012, VENUS SLEEPS are set to bring psychedelic, heavy and powerful Doom to bear on all those who cross their path. Originally a solo project by mystagogue and lead singer Sie Carroll, the group has developed into one of the best and most-praised heavy acts in Ireland. Their intensity has been focused into their massive-sounding debut album, “Dead Sun Worship”. Inspired by the likes of ELECTRIC WIZARD, BLACK SABBATH, HAWKWIND and SLEEP and recorded at the foot of the Dublin mountains with Tommy O’Sullivan (producer of ZOM, Wild Rocket and many more), the group has channeled their attack into a sweeping vision. “Dead Sun Worship” is as heavy as it sounds. Crafted around a core of pulsing riffs and dynamic rhythm, the distinctive vocals of Carroll soar. This is Doom with all the weight and mass of an astral body, conveyed through four musicians playing in perfect harmony. From the ethereal creep of opener ‘Ether Sleeper’, to the black-hole crush of ‘Age of Nothing’, this debut represents a cosmic journey in sound. The group is not afraid to stretch into the creative expanse, with their cover of Syd Barrett’s ‘Golden Hair’ breathing a startling new interpretation into a classic track. “Dead Sun Worship” offers a different facet of VENUS SLEEPS’ progressive take on the Doom sound with every single track. Glorious artwork by Lost Cosmonaut further rounds out this very special album. August 2015 will see a much-anticipated re-issue of ‘Dead Sun Worship’, on glorious 140-gram orange vinyl through Heavy Earth Records. This landmark in Irish heavy music will come with a complete full color poster and lyric sheet. ‘Dead Sun Worship’ is also available through digital download and CD digipack. VENUS SLEEPS have grown into a live and recorded force to be reckoned with. The group’s ambitious style has already secured them live slots alongside the cream of the heavy underground, including IN SOLITUDE, TRIBULATION, BEASTMILK, LECHEROUS GAZE and SLOMATICS. Having performed all across Ireland, the group is poised to further perfect their warm, organic and intelligent take on the Doom sound. Slumber no longer - VENUS SLEEPS are worthy of your immediate attention. - Lorcan Archer (Writer for Metal Ireland, July 2015) Sie Carroll (Guitar & Vocals) Steven Anderson (Guitar & Backing Vocals) Seán O'Connor (Bass) Fergal Malone (Drums)

Link | 1 | 2 | COUM Transmissions | COUM Transmissions | COUM Transmissions | COUM Transmissions was an transgressive performance art group, with inspiration stemming from Fluxus and the underground Mail Art scene, founded at the end of 1969 in Hull, U.K. by Neal Megson (soon to be known as Genesis P-Orridge) and "Jesus" Joheero. COUM expanded its members from 1970 to 1973 to include [a=Cosey Fanni Tutti], Pinglewad, Spydee and Ray Harvey. During its 10 year existence, the group featured a rotating cast of other members including Haydn Rob, Timothy Poston, Ian Evetts, The Very Reverend Lelli Maull, John Smith, Fizzy Paet, Foxtrot Echo and [a=John Gunni Busck] (a.k.a. John Lacey). In 1974 Peter Christopherson joined the group and had a strong influence on its direction. The last COUM performance was in May 1978. The group was very involved in music throughout its history even appearing on a bill with [a=Hawkwind] in October 1971. However they were also very active with performance art, mail art, installations, video, and print publications. COUM performed across the U.K. as well as in Europe and the US. In September 1975, COUM members Genesis, Cosey and Peter joined up with [a=Chris Carter (2)] and focused their musical energies on the parallel project [a=Throbbing Gristle]. This left COUM to focus more on performance art in its last years. COUM Transmission were always controversial with such avant garde happenings such as Copyright Breeches, COUMing of Age and Marcel Duchamp's Next Work, but this peaked with the "Prostitution" art exhibit at London's ICA in October, 1976 - based around photos from Cosey's career as a model/actress for pornographic magazines and films. The "Prostitution" show was also the accepted premier of Throbbing Gristle. Tory MP Sir Nicholas Fairbairn decried the show as "a sickening outrage. Obscene. Evil. Public money is being wasted here to destroy the morality of our society. These people are the wreckers of civilization!"

The group released their heavily controversial track "Puff The Magik" in 1995 which was banned from African radio due to its lyrics about Ganja consumption. in 1996, after the track would later win a SAMA music award for Best Rap Album award, Watkin Tudor Jones left to join chameleon records to release one solo album and later form [a=Max Normal]. The Band released Burn The Evidence in 1997, which caused more notoriety in the ZA music scene. In 1998 the band resurfaced in Cape Town with a new line up featuring Brendon le Roux (Vox), Sebastian Voigt (Bass, Programming), Richard Bruyns (Slide Guitar), Stephen Trollip (Saxophone) Phat Jack (turntables), Tasha Baxter (vocals) and Sven Mc Alpine (Drums), and played extensively in Cape Town and Johannesburg while working on a new album titled 'Addictive Personalities' produced by Warrick Sony (Kalahari Surfers) and featuring a guest appearance by Arno Carstens (Springbok Nude Girls). The album was to be released on the Sheer Sound label, but it caused such uproar in the South African press due to the contents of its lyrics that Sheer Sound were forced to withdraw it. The still unreleased album 'Addictive Personalities' is the final chapter in the Original Evergreen story as it resulted in the band splitting up.

Link | 1 | 2 | Cloud Castle Lake | Cloud Castle Lake | Cloud Castle Lake | Cloud Castle Lake is a three-piece band based in Dublin, Ireland. The band comprises Daniel McAuley, Brendan Jenkinson and Rory O'Connor and often features additional collaborative musicians. The band have supported touring acts such as Glasser, Lisa Hannigan and Nigel Godrich’s Ultraísta and have appeared at festivals all around the country, including Electric Picnic and Body & Soul. They were invited to perform in Toronto at Canadian Music Week, sold out a performance with the Trinity Orchestra in Dublin’s Unitarian Church and played the Turbine Hall in the Tate Modern during London Fashion Week. Early gigs in Dublin marked them as different, confirming their youthful ambition - equal parts pastoral folk and soaring post-rock crescendos - and bringing them to the attention of a small but growing audience. While their live shows garnered widespread praise, the lack of any recorded material was becoming impossible to ignore. A few weeks spent in a cottage down the country one summer resulted in hours of recordings which have been slowly refined and stripped back to their core elements - recorded, re-recorded, edited, discarded, reimagined - a process that has left only the strongest ideas standing. They are at once atmospheric and dynamic - movements that rise and fall with the voice and swell in the washes of guitar. Most notably, their songs give one a feeling of being somewhere else, aloft with the sound, following its voice. Released in September 2014, Dandelion is the band’s highly anticipated debut release. It is evidence of a band who have found their feet in their own time. This maturity and patience is matched in the music, filled with a grace, personality and ambition that belies their youth. A long time in the making, this is an impressive opening statement.

Link | 1 | 2 | Rain On Bamboo | Rain On Bamboo | Rain On Bamboo | Rain On Bamboo is a project of Ingo Ito. Rain On Bamboo was founded in 1992 by Ingo Ito as an open band project with varying musicians. After the basically pop-orientated music of Bamboo Industry, Rain On Bamboo shifted to a different, rather "avantgardish" style of music influenced by artists like Brian Eno, King Crimson, David Sylvian or Ryuichi Sakamoto. There was much space for improvisational performances within the loose framework of the songs of their first album "Sleep & Poetry" and the recording approach was regarded as a piece of art in itself with the music painting a colourful picture for the listener´s own imagination. Rain On Bamboo´s 2nd album "Suburban Skirmish" was nearly completely recorded by Ingo Ito on his own as a multitrack studio album, due to the lack of time of the originally wanted fellow musicians.

May 7, 1983 Anette’s songs are simple and emotive. Her music is inventive, mysterious and creates a unique dark and curious atmosphere. Some say her voice is similar to the late Norwegian singer [a626965]. The CD «Liberty» is produced by [a211961] and some of the contributing musicians are [a336948], [a223028], [a1118162] and the string quartet Katharsis. On her debutalbum ”Liberty” [a2710359] has created an album where the spontaneous, the simple and almost naive is combined with sophisticated band- arrangements and cascades of sound. The music is inspired by multitudes of styles like pop, jazz, electronica, experimental, folk, rock and classical music. Anette has toured in Germany, London and New York to great success. Musically she is attracted to what´s simple, appealing and immediate. But music is to her much more than what´s confined to a particular form: For Anette, music is everywhere, in the trees, in the streets, on the tram and in the relationships between people. ”Liberty” was released in Oslo with a huge releaseconcert with full band, saxophone, string quartet and a choir on stage. [b]She is about to record her second album, which will be released in spring 2014.[/b]

Link | 1 | 2 | Benny Soebardja | Benny Soebardja | Indonesia | Indonesian artist | Benny Soebardja | Indonesian rock musician, one of the most important in the country. In 1966 Benny Soebardja started his career as the guitarist/vocalist of Bandung's beat combo [a=The Peels (4)]. Being tired of covering other bands (Cream, Beatles, Hendrix), he left to form [a=Shark Move]. Around 1972 he occasionally joined [a=God Bless] and GPL (Group Pecinta Lagu). When a member of [a=Shark Move] died, the group disbanded. Benny Soebardja then formed [a=Giant Step (2)] and other band called Lizard to be the backing of his solo outings. At the beginning some of both band members were similar. During Benny Soebardja's Lizard years you can hear how the English songs mattered more and more and the style went from a rockier side to a more ballad side, with use of acoustic guitars too. British poet Bob Dook guided the English lyrics, so that they got their own qualities. During the whole period Benny also distinguished himself as a good electric guitarist. |

Link | 1 | 2 | Christy Essien Igbokwe | Christy Essien Igbokwe | Nigeria | Christy Essien Igbokwe | Christy Uduak Essien-Igbokwe (born in 1960, died in 2011) During her heyday she was the grand dame of Nigerian pop music, and nicknamed the ‘First Lady of Song’. She began her musical career in Secondary School singing at various clubs. In 1976 she joined the satirical NTA series Masquerade. Her short role in that popular sitcom put her to the limelight and in 1977 she launched a professional music career, aged 17. Many of her albums became hit records, but none came close to the success of her 1981 hit album ‘Ever Liked My Person’ produced by Lemmy Jackson. Always at the forefront of issues affecting women and children, she played remarkable roles in some of the early Nollywood flicks such as Flesh and Blood and Scars of Womanhood, both of which addressed issues of child abuse and female circumcision. With a desire to make life better for Nigerian artists, she is credited as having initiated the first meeting that brought about the formation of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN in 1981. A year later, PMAN was founded and King Sunny Ade became the president with the late Sonny Okosuns as his vice, while she was the National Treasurer. Between 1996 and 1999, she became the first female PMAN president.

Over time, the band's instrumentation has grown to include cello, electric piano and synthesizers in addition to the standard drums-bass-two-guitar format, turning Sea Ray into a small chamber rock group with a dense, layered, moody sound. The band disbanded after last show in NYC on January 21st, 2005

Members: Haris Turkanovic .- vocals, guitar Rico Dacher - bass Daniel Zerndl - drum. percussion, guitar Former members: Mario Brekalo - guitar (till 2006) Band history: The story´s beginning somewhere in year 2000, when singer and guitar player Haris founded his first band KINCH. The band was mainly influenced by the bands such like Fu Manchu, Kyuss and QOTSA. Under this name, the band released a split-CD on Freebird Records in Holland and did a contribution to the compilation Gimme Stoner Rock-released on Pimp Records later that year. Few gigs followed (e.g. together with K2B in Jena, Rosenkeller), but just after a short time the band split up and disappeared for quite a while. Almost one year passed untill the new line-up was found, marking the new era of the band. The band came up with the new name Hainloose, taking the new spirit and putting it into new material, which suddenly sounded even more powerfull and raw. While still sticking to the stoner sound, the band opened borders for some new impulses, brought in by the musical taste of the new members (Motorpsycho, Pothead, Depeche Mode, Soundgarden, AC/DC, Stray Cats, Stevie Ray Vaughan etc.). All these different influences resulted into a typical Hainloose sound, based on groovy, 70´s influenced riffs carrying big portions of blues and southern rock feeling which along with the very recognizable vocals make the band unique. 2003 the time was right for the band´s first full-length release Rosula. Around the same time, a new label was founded in Munich by a good friend (Stefan Koglek, guitarist and singer of the band Colour Haze), and the album was released on Elektrohasch Records. The album quite suprised the scene and got lots of positive feedback which helped the band get opportunity to play some bigger gigs (several open airs, tour with Los Natas through Europe, Tour with Label mates UGH! etc.). During the autumn 2005, the band started working on a new material. By the end of the year everything was ready for the band to hit the studio in order to record Rosula´s follow-up-Burden State. After six months of production, the album again got released on Munichs Label ELEKTROHASCH Records at June 2006. With the second album the band definitely gained recognition in the stoner scene which opened doors to play on this years´ StonedFromTheUnderground festival in Erfurt, which is considered to be the biggest stoner festival in Germany.

Link | 1 | 2 | Races | Races | United States | Races | RACES exists as a result of artistic rebirth and personal rediscovery, but it all starts at a point in Wade Ryff’s life where motivation was at its most scarce. Disillusioned with music, beset with the bitter ending of a relationship with a real life witch and faced with the overwhelming stagnation of being a 23-year old in the sleepy suburban outpost of Van Nuys, during that time, Ryff wrote the pleading lyrics of “Big Broom” in the bathroom of his parents house. He explains the song’s message as “accepting that every ending is a new beginning, and even if we may have no control over when things are given or taken from us, we can always choose how to respond.” Whether he realized it or not at the time, it would serve as a mission statement for a handful of musicians in the area who were also idling through their 20’s and desperate for a new beginning. Breanna Wood, Lucas Ventura, Devon Lee and Oliver Hild knew each other prior to RACES’ first show, played in bands together, and oh yeah, either had dated or were currently dating each other. Still, nothing could anticipate it all coming together for Year Of The Witch, a life-affirming document forged from the pain of a time when life feels most uncertain and coming out of it renewed. In regards to their evocative band name, Ryff explains: “I relate to the name in the sense that it seems like there is always something to be up against, and strong desire to overcome whatever it is.” Ryff had been quietly working on solo material, and in 2009, a friend asked him to open for a show he was booking. And he was up against the daunting task of stepping out of the sidelines as a bass player and putting his own untrained vocals to the fore. More than any singer, Ryff found his inspiration as a lyricist in the works of early 20th-century authors. But his musical heroes that were well-chosen too: Leonard Cohen’s Death of a Ladies Man for its integration of Brill Building sophistication and as a template for RACES’ use of backup singers and keyboards; Television for Ryff and Herberg’s ingenious, yet subtle guitar interplay which permeates Year Of The Witch. In a mad dash, Ryff and Herberg got in touch with some of their old friends and bandmates and assembled a “dream team,” five additional musicians from around the area he admired, including Hild on bass, Herberg on guitar, Wood on keyboards, and Lee on vocals and percussion. Ventura would play drums for the second RACES show and they’d lose a backup vocalist who went to focus on her solo project (Ryff empathizes), but otherwise, RACES has remained exactly the same since that very first gig. What sunk in was the effortlessness of it all: RACES never had to hustle to book their own shows despite living in Van Nuys, a twenty minute drive from Los Angeles that often feels hours removed from it all. Above all else was a chemistry that just couldn’t be faked or brainstormed during “band business meetings.” They attribute their work ethic to their humble surroundings, spending entire days honing their material in a Chatsworth studio because, well, what else are you supposed to do in the Valley? For the most part, RACES didn’t even see themselves as a “serious band” until local boutique imprint JAXART felt their demos were simply too good for a limited release, and label interest spread rapidly. The fit with New York’s venerated Frenchkiss Records was perfect – indeed, with RACES’ ability to derive such resonant and instantly ingratiating pop out of the relatable emotional turmoil of your mid-20’s, it’s no wonder the same label that houses Passion Pit, Dodos and Antlers were such ardent supporters. At its core, there are plenty of sad songs and waltzes – “The Knife,” “Walk Through The Fire” and “All For You” all have a melodic and lyrical directness befitting their origins as Ryff’s solo work. But as Ryff admits, “I didn’t want to play music that’s just a sappy guy on an acoustic guitar,” and RACES flesh them out to swoon with dramatic grandeur and earthen rusticity behind Ryff’s plaintive words. It’s a startling show of sophistication from a band who has only been together for less than two years. The ornate orchestration and vocal arrangements on the female-led counterpoint “Don’t Be Cruel” in particular owe their origins to Herberg’s background as a composer – he’s the one who brings Ryff’s Leonard Cohen fantasies to fruition. Quoth Ryff, “he’s our Brian Jones.” But even with the speed at which RACES are going forward, they haven’t gotten complacent in the slightest – they’re already working out new material for their next album, which they hope will integrate more of the electronic textures they’ve been experimenting with and won’t be so much “about a girl,” as Ryff jokes. But their goals are still modest – maybe playing the Bowery Ballroom in New York, getting better as musicians, the sort of things deemed worthy to a band that isn’t looking to piggyback on any sort of hype cycle. But what do they hope for most of all? Ryff puts it best: “I’d rather get dropped and start back at the beginning than not have fun with these guys.” It’s a fitting mission statement for a band for whom every show feels as exciting as that very first one.

Link | 2 | 1 | La Chiva Gantiva | La Chiva Gantiva | Colombia | La Chiva Gantiva | The story of La Chiva Gantiva began in Brussels when three young Colombian students started to play percussion together. Driven by a desire to assert their roots, they began to blend Afro-Colombian rhythms with other styles of music they loved: rock , afrobeat and funk. Soon joined by four other musicians (two Belgians, a Frenchman and a Vietnamese), they started performing around the world, and their exciting, explosive show conquered media and public alike. Signed to Crammed Discs, La Chiva Gantiva will be releasing their second album, "Vivo", in February 2014. Recorded in their own studio (which they built for the occasion, upstairs from a bar in central Brussels), "Vivo" was mixed in New York by Joel Hamilton (Blakroc, Sparklehorse, Marc Ribot, Bomba Estereo) with the band's two main composers, vocalist Rafael Espinel and guitarist Felipe Deckers. While the album's powerful sound reflects La Chiva Gantiva's incredible live energy, their "frenetic carnival-punk racket that detonates like a Molotov cocktail of rock, rap, soul and ferociously funky Latin rhythms (as described by The Times), "Vivo" also contains songs in which the band further explore several musical directions, such as traditional percussion patterns and new sonic territories, while remaining grounded in their trademark rock/afrobeat fundamentals, punctuated by exuberant horn riffs. After performing in Continental Europe, La Chiva Gantiva made a couple of very successful visits to the UK (including shows at the River of Music festival during the 2012 Olympics, at the London Jazz Festival and at WOMAD 2013) and the US (with shows in NYC, Miami, Chicago, Dallas and at SXSW). They also had the great pleasure of being welcomed by their country of origin: although the band was born in Europe, it has now become one of Colombia's most popular new acts, toured there twice, and was just celebrated at Premios Shock, the yearly Colombian TV Music Awards. In early 2014, La Chiva Gantiva will be playing shows in Benin and at Womad Australia and New Zealand, before coming back to tour around Europe.

Link | 2 | 1 | Shit Hits The Fan | Shit Hits The Fan | Shit Hits The Fan | Shit Hits The Fan is a punk rock band from Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. Highly influenced by the 80’s and 90’s punk rock waves from Southern-California, the band was founded in early 2012 and is going straight ahead ever since. After playing dozens of shows all across The Netherlands, Shit Hits The Fan released their first full-length “The First And Worst Record” in September 2013 on Morning Wood Records. The album was well-received and gained generally positive reviews. Shortly after bringing out the album Willem van der Ende took the position of lead singer and took the band to the next level. Nearly two months after Willem joined the band, they recorded and released the single “Disconnected”. The song was featured on various compilation albums and gained airplay on several underground radio stations. The band is currently recording songs for an upcoming EP, which is planned to be released later this year. Shit Hits The Fan’s straightforward, melodic punk rock often gets compared with bands such as Pennywise, The Offspring and Good Riddance. Their lyrical themes usually cover relevant social, political and environmental problems but also deal about personal struggle and alienation. After almost 50 shows the band is ready go abroad and travel to all the countries who could use an energetic punk rock show.
