"Four Corners" is the perfect album for those who like to cherish their gothic dreams while tapping their foot to the beat of a drum machine..." Ascension Magazine "...being totally overwhelmed by the languishing, hypnotic and emotional crescendo of the song 'Shine' as well as some other beautiful moments like 'Step down' and ' fragments '. A good production, sepulchral efficient vocals, catchy tunes, what more to say ... The British scene continues to offer us gothic quality" Dark Spirit In A Candle webzine "There are times you're longing for some new gothic rock stuff that will pay tribute to the legendary and influencial bands of the scene, without being copies though, having a personal air, enriching it with their influences and also bringing some fresh air to the scene, without sounding like an "archaelogical museum" coming straight from the 80s. One of these bands have to be Voices Of Masada without any shadow of doubt, a band that managed to release one of the best, if not the best, gothic rock releases of 2006, showing wholeheartedly that nothing's lost in this very scene that some consider as dead." Metalstorm.net There is a new plan... more to follow! Eddie Martin, Danny Tartaglia and Rob Leydon have left the Band. Sam Morrison joined the Live band Tom Stevenson has joined the band.

Link | 1 | 2 | Makaras Pen | Makaras Pen | Makaras Pen | Makaras Pen walks the line between shoegaze and indie rock with a strong dynamic of crushing guitars and delicate female vocals. Doug White - founder, guitarist and songwriter from Projekt's now disbanded Tearwave - gathers a new group of fantastic musicians to continue the sonic journey he began just a few years ago. Building on Tearwave's sound and shoegaze elements made popular in the late 80's and early 90's by bands like Lush, Slowdive, and the Cocteau Twins, Makaras Pen adds the twists and turns of an aggressive indie rock band creating an electric, intense and startlingly fresh new perspective on these genres. Emma's lyrics delve into the darker side of failed relationships, yearning to set oneself free, leaving harmful situations and looking towards a better future. At times the euphoria of a new situation intertwines with anticipation of the failure to come. Emma refrains from a weak, victim's perspective, instead using the process to develop autonomy and independence as she searches for new inspiration in life. With so much more to Emma than a pretty girl with a beautiful voice, she commands the listener's attention, bringing a personal style that pulls the listener along for the ride.

They started just after Sirrah announced suspension of the activity at the turn of century. The project was a further evolution of the progressing industrial sound of Sirrah. On 2001, after the unsuccessful search for a publisher, TMCTea published a first demo Sketchpad #1 by own financial effort. Release rose an ambivalent emotions. After a fast finishing of circulation, band bring their demo to download on the official website. TMCTea is trying to record another demo (initial called Sketchpad #2) but it ends finishing two new songs (another four of that sessions left still unreleased). After that hearing about them vanishes... Currently, it is difficult to find any recordings of the group. On 2006 some of the members founded band Popup, quickly changed their name to Popupkiller. On 2011 Żyżyk (K.E.Mouth'a) and Nafus (Na'Phoos) focused on avant-pop group Rosemary's Kids. There was also the plan (circa 2010) reunion under the name The Man Called Sirrah (collaboration between musicians of both bands) and finally on February 2013 Tomo Żyżyk initiated Sirrah's reunification. Maciej Pasiński (Vliege9) appears in reunited Sirrah as a guest musician and has been working on his solo effort called qip. Exists archival website of the group. Link | 2 | 1 | Wittyboy | Wittyboy | United Kingdom | British DJ and Record Producer | Wittyboy | Duwaine Whitfield Hailing from the city of Leeds, Wittyboy was influenced by a mix of Speed Garage, Hip Hop, House and Dancehall, which helped shape the sound he has today. Originally an up North ambassador of the Grime movement he gained respect as an MC, featuring on BBC 1Xtra and receiving air play from Mary Anne Hobbs amongst other radio DJ's. With the 4x4, House and Garage resurgence in 2002-2007 he began producing more uptempo beats with melodic bass patterns, which later took on the industry name of "Bassline". Wittyboy quickly began receiving support from key figures in the scene such as DJ EZ, DJ Q, Jamie Duggan, Shaun Banger Scott, FB & Zibba and more. It wasn't long before Wittyboy became one of the key players in the Bassline scene, with regular appearances at the infamous Niche nightclub in Sheffield and featured on the infamous Ministry of Sound CD: The Sound of Bassline along with Pure Garage, Fabric Live & Pure Bassline. With a string of EP releases, official remix work began to arise from the likes of Roll Deep, Estelle, Sugar Babes, E-17, Craig David, Toddla T, Leon Jean Marie, Nitin Sahney, Ear Dis and loads more. Today Wittyboy's sound is a mix of UK Garage, House and Bass while maintaining his Bassline roots. |

Affectionately known as "the bluesman of the desert," Sundy masterfully combines American blues, traditional French music, and music from the Sahara to create what Blues Sur Seine called "one of the most beautiful successes of inbreeding and a new path for the blues." A native of Tuareg, Sundy honed his craft as a busker in the Parisian subways. Moving to the United States in the 1980s, he learned the blues from the masters, working with such influential bluesmen as Albert Collins, B.B. King, James Cotton, Jimmy Johnson, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and Albert King, with whom he toured the United States twice. Sundy began to develop his unique approach to the blues after returning to France at the beginning of the 1990s. His recordings include 2000's Homme Bleu; 2004's Najma and 2009's Sadaka, the latter issued on the French label Dixie Frog." Artist Biography by Craig Harris

Link | 2 | 1 | Shaded Red | Shaded Red | United States | Shaded Red | Shaded Red was a Christian alternative rock band from Denver, Colorado, in the United States. It was formed in 1993 by brothers Jamie Roberts (vocals and guitar) and Jonathan Roberts (guitars, bass, trumpet, piano). In 1997 they released their debut self-titled album through Cadence. On January 17, 1998, the band was struck by tragedy when their van hit a patch of black ice returning from a concert. Drummer Chris Yeoman was killed[1] and Jon Roberts was left with a shattered pelvis. It was at this time the band considered calling it quits but decided to press on instead. In 1999, the band released their second album, Red Revolution. The album was a moderate success and features a remake of the Benny Hester song "When God Ran". The band has since broken up, and brothers Jamie and Jonathan currently reside in Los Angeles.

Link | 1 | 2 | Hedzoleh Soundz | Hedzoleh Soundz | Ghana | Hedzoleh Soundz | "Hedzoleh ("freedom") Soundz was formed in Accra, Ghana in the late 1960's. Leader [a442680] assembled a monster ensemble of musicians from the Ghana Arts Council, intending to form a new Afro-Rock group that would be more traditional & African in sound, and hopefully surpass Osibisa in popularity (alas it was not to be). Their original songs were based upon traditional Akan & Ewe music, and employed dark, organic sounding African-made drums instead of modern western congas/drum-kit." They released their first LP on Blue Thumb in 1973. Many regard it as the finest African jazz-funk fusion album ever made, largely due to the brilliant merging of the band's own sounds with the trumpet of their guest soloist - [a14661]. Indeed, some argue that this LP is also his best. Interestingly, Masekela was introduced to Hedzoleh by none other than [a19812]. Masekela worked with a primordial version of Hedzoleh as early as 1967, when they played at Monterey, so by 1973 they were familiar with each other's styles. Drawing upon the rhythmic traditions of their native Ghana, Hedzoleh Soundz combines traditional African and contemporary western instrumentation. Their unique African sound blends songs in Ghananian languages with a style that has become known as "West African Highlife."

Link | 2 | 1 | Cards in Spokes | Cards in Spokes | Cards In Spokes | In 1994 the Beers Brothers began Cards in Spokes, pouring out their own brand of ruff and ready songs from an Orange Park, FL rehearsal studio. Within three months they recorded a four song demo that snagged the ear of John Yates, mastermind behind the San Francisco label Allied Recordings. He signed the band and released two albums and a single. After their second album, Cards In Spokes was finally beginning to take their brand of melodic punk to another level. They were playing everywhere, like the Warped Tour, alongside bands like the Bosstones, and Social Distortion, and all the DIY halls in between. They were being called the best Mod Punk band since the Jam hit the scene back in the late seventies. Cards In Spokes disbanded in mid 1998 due to family problems after a lukewarm national tour.

Link | 2 | 1 | Melissa Stylianou | Melissa Stylianou | Canada | Melissa Stylianou | Jazz singer Melissa Stylianou has been turning heads and capturing hearts since the turn of the century, from her native Toronto to her adopted home of New York City, from intimate club residencies to top festival stages. She has won fans far and wide with her recording projects, along with praise from such outlets as the jazz bible Downbeat – which called her “a gifted composer and an appealing singer” and, moreover, “an original.” Stylianou’s newest album – Silent Movie, her fourth disc and first for the New York-based Anzic Records – is an evolutionary step, with Stylianou presenting her fresh takes on beloved jazz standards and left-field songs from Johnny Cash to Joanna Newsom, backed by a collective of top musicians from the New York scene. Stylianou has long put her own lyrics to the music of celebrated composers; on Silent Movie, she breathes fresh emotional life into instrumental pieces by Edgar Meyer and Vince Mendoza. As ever, her singing is a joy, reinforcing the description by Grammy-nominated pianist Fred Hersch, who says: “Melissa Stylianou has it all – a gorgeous instrument, superb musicianship and great taste.” After making a name with standards on her 1999 debut album, It Never Entered My Mind, Stylianou showed a flair for expanding the jazz songbook. Her 2001 release, Bachelorette, juxtaposed tunes by Thelonious Monk and Fats Waller with the Björk title track and songs by Sting and Tom Waits – all delivered with the singer’s signature charm and musicality. NW Jazz Profile aptly described Stylianou as “inventive in her phrasing and pure in sound.” Sliding Down, her rhythmically sophisticated 2006 album, featured another rich blend of the classic and the contemporary, with “Them There Eyes” and the Beatles’ “Blackbird” set alongside striking original tunes. JazzTimes magazine was impressed: “An exotically sultry `All of You’ and a gorgeously dreamy `That Ole Devil Called Love’ make her a standards-bearer worth watching. But it is Stylianou’s artfully imagined originals, ranging from the down-home zest of `Mary's in the Tub’ to the emotional wreckage of the title track, that shift her from engaging to captivating.” At the 55 Bar in Manhattan’s West Village – where Stylianou has had a residency since 2008 – the singer explores new material with her group featuring pianist Jamie Reynolds and guitarist Pete McCann. For the past two years, Stylianou has also been a member of Ike Sturm’s ensemble, singing original jazz settings of sacred music at St. Peter’s Church in Manhattan. Underscoring her more venturesome, improvisational side, she is the featured vocalist with Gregg Bendian’s Mahavishnu Project, dedicated to performing the music of John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Stylianou earned three nominations as Jazz Vocalist of the Year at the National Jazz Awards of Canada (2003, 2004, 2006), as well as a nomination as Composer of the Year (2006). She has headlined clubs, concert halls and major jazz festivals across her home country, from Toronto and Montreal to Halifax and Manitoba. In New York, she has sung at Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, Blue Note, Birdland and the Jazz Standard, as well as the 55 Bar, Smoke, Sweet Rhythm, Iridium, Cutting Room and the Cornelia Street Café. Stylianou teaches Music Together classes to young children, as well as voice at the 92nd Street Y.

Link | 1 | 2 | Sufferatory | Sufferatory | Russia | Sufferatory | Russian brutal death band from Kazan, Tatarstan, formed in 1998. Their first line up consisted of former members of two bands, Paul - guitars and Klim - bass from Traur and Lenar - drums from God’s Grave and they had no vocalist. As their influences were [a=Suffocation], [a=Gorguts], [a=Sinister], early [a=Cannibal Corpse] and [a=Malevolent Creation], Sufferatory had the intention to play only pure brutal death metal. In 1999 they recorded their first demo ‘Systematic Molestation’, consisted of 3 instrumental tracks. In 2000 their first vocalist joined the band and Sufferatory began the gigs. After two years they started to record an album called ‘Compulsory Martyrdom’ with a second vocalist, Eugene. ‘Compulsory Martyrdom’ was released in 2003 by Tribal Production and was limited to 100 copies. In year 2001 Dmitry "Speed" was replaced by Eugene "Spirit", but in 2003 Eugene leaves because he started to listen other kind of music. During their early existence Sufferatory didn’t perform very often and emphasize on zealous rehearsals. Delays with recording an upcoming release were due to the problems with their line-up and especially with vocalists. In 2005 Sufferatory finds Bulat, the vocalist of a band called Encrypted (demonic death metal), who was interested in participating in a brutal death band. Same year [r=3345713] was reissued by [l=Coyote Records] from Moscow. In 2006 Sufferatory again entered the studio and recorded a two-track EP titled ‘Malformed Ignorance’ which unfortunately was never released. In 2007 Klim decided to move to another city and band searched for new bassist. Soon Max ‘Ziarath’ joined as their new bass player. With their new line-up, Bulat - vocals, Paul - guitars, Max - bass and Lenar - drums, they recorded [r=3253753] MCD at Sphinx studios and K-Sound. In the same year band signs contracts with [l=Sevared Records] and [l=Butchered Records] for the release of [r=3253753] MCD, which was finally out in April 2008. In 2009 the band contributed two tracks for their next release, the 4-way split [r=3286434], with [a=Unburied], [a=Mortal Torment] and [a=Demise (7)], which was released by [l=Coyote Records]. Line-up: Bulat - vocals Paul - guitars Max - bass Lenar - drums

Link | 1 | 2 | Psygasus | Psygasus | Psygasus | Brent Vanneste, Björn Vanbrabant, Tine Ottevaere, Amala Isenbaert Psygasus are the brothers Brent Vanneste and Björn Vanbrabant The project started in 2005 when Brent began experimenting with Reason and Ableton Live and when older brother Björn regulary visited goa parties, he brought the psychedelic moods with him and so the music started to grow. Brent takes the live shows to an other dimension with exotic snare instruments such as the sitar, heavily distorted guitars and his own voice. Björn takes care of the live percussions, backing vocals and live effects. Psygasus is spontaneity of the best quality, and within a given structure, there's room for improvisation and freedom. A trip that takes you from ambient to downtempo, from psytrance to darkpsy and pure goatrance. They played regularly at little events in Belgium and performed last summer (2010) on big festivals like Rhakti Dei, Eargasm and Tribes Gathering. Resulting in a labelcontract with [l=GanjaTree Records]. Their debut album: "From Here to Eternity" has been released on [l=GanjaTree Records], February 17th, 2011

(Russian Existence - A Tribute To Project Pitchfork, Future Sounds Of Moscow-1,2,3, «Музыка для экстрима-2», «Неон-2», Scang Fest 2000, «Хулиганы-1», «Pубилово-2», «Aльтернатива-1,2,3», Moscow Tribute To Rammstein и т.

After their initial EP was well received, work began in 2007 on a full length album. HCOM recorded their début in July/August '07 then handed the results over to me to lovingly craft into the monolithic creation it became. I primarily acted as producer, but also worked hard as a shadow fifth member, adding in all manner of electronics, drones, samples, synths, noise and filth to make the record as immense as it deserved to be. The results of this collaboration resulted in my acceptance into the HCOM fold as a full-time member and live performer, before we disbanded in early 2009.

They had started experimenting with industrial and dark electronic sounds in the early 2010 and released their first songs shortly afterwards. The band quickly abandoned their original ambient/martial fascinations and currently their style is pure dark/harsh electro. The lyrics oscillate around love, hate, social alienation and dark side of religion. So far Unsinn has created remixes for groups like H.EXE, RSM and Stian Shiver. They also appeared on Halotan Sounds 1.0 compilation, along with the leading Polish industrial bands. Currently all the band's efforts are focused on release of their full album called "World of Dreams" |

The project, mixed by Fishr Pryce, features unreleased songs, freestyles and remixes as well as some of Blastah's previous work. Bullerbyne was preceded by the electroindustrial band, [a=Neue Sprache], formed by [a=Luboš Mikula], [a=Marek Pavlas] and Petr Vanek. In concerts, the band featured Commodore Amiga, the snare drum and a Black & Decker grinder for machining large metal pieces. Also, as part of their musical performance, the band used iron bars to produce typical metal sounds. Neue Sprache met with swift success and played in many popular clubs around the Czech Republic. When Petr Vanek decided to leave the band, the formation started to play more ambient electronic music and changed its name to Bullerbyne. In 1997 Bullerbyne released their first album, Crappy Crispy Magic Music. It was soon sold out and two of the tracks, Warez and Too Much Power, became hits and were often compared to songs by Underworld. One of the songs on the album, Right To Be Here, was sung by a guest soloist, Mario Feinberg from Narvan. In 1997 Bullerbyne was joined by the keyboardist, Boleslav Brezovský. In 1999 one of the founding members of the band, Marek Pavlas, left the band to pursue other projects. Lubos Mikula moved from Brno to Prague where he keeps writing and remixing songs for other bands, such as Priessnitz, Here, Swordfishtrombones, OK Band. In concerts the band performs with the percussionist, Onehalph, the guitar player, Vienna, and the bass player, Jiri Schneider.

Link | 1 | 2 | Blast Furnace & The Heatwaves | Blast Furnace & The Heatwaves | United Kingdom | group fronted by Charles Shaar Murray of the NME | Blast Furnace & The Heatwaves | Blast Furnace & The Heatwaves was the band of Charles Shaar Murray, who was then working for the New Musical Express. They released a debut EP in 1978 ("Trust Me"; Nighthawk HOT1), which featured two originals and two covers. The band, as listed on the sleeve was Blast Furnace (Murray; lead vocals, lead guitar); Skid Marx (harp and posing); Blitz Krieg (guitar, guitar and guitar); Mr. B. Bop (bass, backing vocals and creative tension); and Tom Tom (drums and t'ing). Backing vocals were supplied by the Dublinaires (Phil Lynott and Bob Geldof). The band were taken to court by disco outfit Heatwave, and were forced to change their name as a result. As a result of the court case the band dropped the Heatwaves part of the name and became "Blast Furnace &" for their second (and last) single ("South of The River"; Nighthawk HOT2). The line-up was Blast Furnace on guitar and vocals; Kevin Allen (bass); John Potter (piano, [ex Wilko Johnson's Solid Senders, who went on to form John Potter's Clay, who has a single/EP called "Speedin On" and later worked with Wilko Johnson), and George Dare (drums). The law suit and the change of name largely scuppered the band, and they had to make some changes to the design of the artwork for the second single. |

Presenting new music with a finger on the pulse of traditional Balkan folk music, the Toids give a performance both rousing and introspective, danceable and serene. Accompanied by bassist John Ross (also formerly of Monica's Interval and Vivian Section) and drummer Tom Curless, Leach attempted to recreate the orchestrated pop of late-period Beatles and ELO with Autoliner, throwing in touches of myriad other classic pop bands along the way. Though the group was originally called Life on Mars, it was discovered after their self-titled debut was released in 1999 that another group of that name already existed; the album's second pressing kept the title Life on Mars but corrected the group's name. The follow-up, Be, was released in 2001.

Link | 1 | 2 | Sil-X | Sil-X | Sil-X | Sil-X is a side project of two brothers whose long history of production and composition together has created tapes and discs of material. Now releasing tunes officially, the aim is to produce clattering fuzz-laden beats and drones while maintaining their fascination with exploring new sounds and textures. Their roots lie not only in early catalogue Warp Records but also bands such as Seefeel, Ecstasy of Saint Theresa and My Bloody Valentine amongst more obscure 1980s indie and electronic music. Beginning with the self-titled track "Sil-X" there will be a range of tracks released on a similar theme encompassing beatless soundscapes and bass heavy waveforms. Expect experimentation which doesn't leave behind the value of structure and mood. Turn it up to 11.
