Since 2009, he has traveled half of Russia with occasional forays abroad, playing small bars and cafes. The band went through many changes, starting as avant-garde jazz, moving to electronic music in the early "Berlin School" cosmic vein, before ending up as a hybrid of many styles involving musicians from Etron Fou Leloublan and Lard Free. During their history some 20 musicians passed through the band with Dominique the only constant member. Eventually Camizole transformed into [a168405].

Link | 1 | 1 | Absconded | Absconded | Absconded | Absconded was formed in august 1991 in hometown Den Helder. Being part of a big circle of friends skateboarding, smoking pot and hanging out on the beach playing soccer and skimboarding, they listened to typical '80's punkrock music like the freeze, zero boys, white flag, rkl, angry samoans, bad religion, agent orange, circle jerks, descendents and the ramones (to name a few). While trying to play covers, they also started to write their own songs. After over twenty shows, they finally got the chance to play their first show outside their hometown in Parkhof, Alkmaar in december 1993. That's where they met up with famous Amsterdam punkrockers NRA, from whom the singer went so crazy when Absconded played 'bloodstains' from agent orange that he had to go to the hospital with major injuries. This was the beginning of a long-lasting friendship between the two bands. Together with NRA, Absconded played over 150 shows everywhere in Holland, including a European tour and a show at the Dynamo Open Air festival in 1995. Within 4 years, Absconded had managed to play with bands like SNFU, Supersuckers, Lagwagon, Strung Out, New Bomb Turks, No Fun At All, Down by Law and Burning Heads without even ever releasing something like a demotape! In 1995 Absconded did their first recordings which was released on Bits of Noise comp 2, on WRF records. Two songs were put on a split single together with a japanese band called Beyond Description, which was released on Wicked Witch label. In 1996 they recorded their first full length album Five Year Plan, which was recorded at Studio Landscape and released on We Bite records. That album got airplay on national radio, at the VPRO as 'le disc pop de la semaine', they also did a live recording session at the VPRO studio together with the Heideroosjes. Unfortunately, the album didn't sell as well as it was supposed to be doing and Absconded was without a label the next year. The second album Time to Waste was never released, although rough live versions of a few songs were released on the Holland Sux comp on Bitzcore records and one song was released on Rats 'n Dikes comp on Out of Step records. Internal struggles in the band finally led to the demise of Absconded in 1998, although at the time they still played some great shows in fully packed places. Unbelievable to many fans, but Absconded had absconded. Now, after almost seven years in tibet Absconded is getting back together. Gaining experience by playing in other bands like Bangkok Chick Boys, Stella Reeves, Chuck loves Candy and Diagnosis Murder, Absconded is older and wiser, faster and better than ever! Still wanting to release a second full length album, they're going back in the rehearsal studio next year to create and record new songs. Better be ready!

Link | 1 | 1 | Black Foxxes | Black Foxxes | band from Devon | Black Foxxes | With an aim to play what comes naturally, as loud as possible and with absolutely no gimmicks involved, South west three-piece Black Foxxes have pricked the ears of Kerrang!, Rock Sound, MusicWeek, The Independent and Punktastic, among many others, in their short career to date. Their debut EP ‘Pines’ (which was released at the tail end of 2014) received praise across the board and Black Foxxes’ unique and unflinching brand of heart-wrenching rock has found continuous support from BBC Introducing in Devon, with high praise coming from BBC Devon presenter James Santer. More recently, the band’s tracks have been gaining ground at BBC Radio 1 with plays from Jen & Ally, Daniel P Carter, and Phil Taggart. Wielding their dynamic mix of raw noise, pure melody and utterly immersive vocal breaks, Black Foxxes thrive on playing live and always ensure that everyone present will remember them, no matter what. Link | 1 | 1 | Uncle Fucker | Uncle Fucker | Uncle Fucker | UncleFucker, Based in Brooklyn, NYC is led by "Slick Dick" Grizzly Izzy Zaidman, a former hardcore guitarist who toured with several rock groups before setting out to evangelize the merits of debauchery under the guise of good ole country music. The band also features the hedonistic speed fiddling of Katy "Texas Slime" Cox, the gargantuan bass playing of Snickers Fucken (real name!) Skwire, and the drumming of vagabond streetfighter, Freeball. UncleFucker is, proudly and without rival, the only bluegrass/thrash metal band in NYC, and, along with their stage dancers, the Fuckerettes, they bring more excitement and heavy petting to the stage than a thousand bands before them. The band has brought their grasscore extravaganza to the masses through a series of wild subcultural events that meld music, performance art, burlesque and rock theatrics, including Brooklyn's infamous Madagascar Institute parties and the TheatroClash festival in Williamsburg.

Link | 1 | 1 | Aenone | Aenone | Aenone | Craig 'Kreg' Sterns, Kim Collister, Bill Stair, Steve Crowley Aenone started in 1988 in Nyack, NY as the brainchild of Craig Sterns and Kim Collister while they were still in school. They started by making demos at home, but they soon recruited Bill Stair (Hugo Largo) and Steve Crowley (Antietam) and booked their first gig at the now defunct Underworld in NYC. As fate would have it, members of local band Lotion were there and fell in love with the band's swirlie style of music and melody and passed their demos onto Shimmydisc/Kokopop. They recorded a 4-track EP at Kramer's Noise NJ studios under his production entitled Saints & Razors. A bunch of gigs later including supporting Medicine, Velocity Girl and playing CBGB's over a dozen times, they caught the ear of American A&R rep Steve Ferrera for the newly formed UK label Echo by having had their demo passed onto him by their mutual lawyer. They showcased at CBGBs, and within a month found themselved recording in London with Alan Moulder and being forced to change their name to Nyack. Twenty years after the band's inception, Aenone are recording a new album.

Link | 1 | 1 | Jesus, Fuck the Sun | Jesus, Fuck the Sun | Jesus, Fuck The Sun | Formed in early 2003 by Brett Kasden, Christopher Thomas, and Troy Micheau, Jesus, Fuck the Sun sought to bring something to Las Vegas that didn't exist at the time: short, fast, and loud hardcore/powerviolence. After realizing that Las Vegas wasn't interested in such a thing, they took the show on the road, racking up 60+ mostly out of state shows during their short two year existence. After recording a demo and two eps that never saw the light of day, and a constantly changing cast of characters(including the departure of Troy), Brett and Chris let Jesus, Fuck the Sun go to sleep. Rumors; however, are spreading of a reawakening in the coming future.

Link | 1 | 1 | Overhaul | Overhaul | Netherlands | Overhaul | It is the artist’s job to extend boundaries and widen the world, to reinvent themselves at all times and revise their work to perfection. This is OVERHAUL, a manifesto and a promise to themselves to keep their music fresh and original with respect to their musical background, which lies in the timeline of the progressive rock scene from the 70’s to the present. Their first tangible contribution to this timeline was the in 2014 self-released EP ‘DAYBREAK’. Only a few months later the song 'Three Judges', taken off this EP, appeared on the first physical edition of the internationally renowned Progstravaganza, a stage for new progressive talent, published by Prog Sphere. It brought the band the following critical acclaim: "With OVERHAUL, we are amazed by the diversity of the sound canvas that ranges from symphonic pop to heavy prog and to traditional hard rock and Chopin-like piano," says Lucas Biela on progachives.com. So what does OVERHAUL sound like? Think ‘Dream Theater meets drum ‘n’ bass’, ‘Haken meets Kamelot’ or ‘Spock’s Beard meets Textures’. A metal attitude complete with powerful guitar riffs, virtuosic keyboards and intense vocals. Alternating contrasting atmospheres and at first sight incompatible influences resulted in a unique, eclectic musical style. The ‘DAYBREAK’ EP can be seen as merely a prologue to the story of OVERHAUL that's slowly unfolding.; the most important chapters have yet to be written. With a number of successful gigs in their past, such as playing Dutch pop temple 'Melkweg' in Amsterdam, and opening for internationally renowned bands Agent Fresco (IS), Leprous (NO) and Voyager (AUS) the band is now looking forward to the next step in their career, and promises to keep looking in that direction, because there lie the boundaries that need to be extended.

He uses improvisative composition in exploring his contemplations. The Marco’s research describes a tangible outcome that results from an audio-visual self-analysis aimed at the elimination of surplus and the rediscovery of identity. The artist is author of a universe of images in balance between reality and unconscious, stimulus and spontaneous reaction, sounds and visions, where the subjects are sometimes the result of ritualistic layers, other times of interventions over the passage of time. His works are often part of the project how to cure our soul, shared with Alessandro Sergente. Marco also works as curator Lux and Museolaboratorio, as videomaker, in the field of web/graphics communication and in turistic and cultural management.

The sound of Descending Orbit encapsulates spiraling undertones with an extrasolar presence that surpasses the harmonic barrier. During his formative years, he purchased his first synthesizer (a Korg X3 which included the bass sound used in many of Madonna's hit tracks from the 80's, among others) and never looked back, creating dozens of compositions over time while slowly honing his craft. The first Descending Orbit studio album, Small Square Circles, was released on October 1st, 2016. Various synthesizers (digital, analog, softsynth) were the primary means of composition during album conceptualization and production. Field recordings of atmospheric elements (rain and night sounds) were also integrated into respective tracks.

Link | 1 | 1 | Kuana Torres Kahele | Kuana Torres Kahele | Hilo | Kuana Torres Kahele | Kuana has been involved in the music and hula scene of HIlo since he was 6 years old. He trained as a kane dancer under legendary Hilo kumu hula Johnny Lum Ho until the age of 13. Once he was discovered to have exceptional musical abilities he was pulled from the hula line and added as a permanent halau musician. Kuana’s photographic musical memory allowed the kumu to compose songs and have them recited later, as needed. It became a Hawaiian Music Boot Camp of sorts, training him in the classics of Hawaiian music and prepping him for what was to come as a professional musician. In 1995, at 17, he and fellow Hilo native and falsetto musician, Kehau Tamure, laid the foundation for what emerged as of the most popular Hawaiian Music groups to date, NA PALAPALAI. They released “Makani ‘Olu’olu” in 2002 to meteoric success and raves from critics. Kuana’s original, “Ke Anu O Waimea” is still the most popular hula song in Japan to this day. Na Palapalai has continued to maintain it’s popularity 20 years and six albums later. In 2011, he released his long awaited solo debut, KAUNALOA. It won every major award at that year’s Na Hoku Hanohano Awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year. He was applauded for his songwriting abilities and contribution to Hawaiian music. His release was a welcome breath of fresh air in both style and content allowing for the creation of new hula from kumu all over the world. Subsequent blockbuster releases included his “HILO FOR THE HOLIDAYS” Christmas release which later won Christmas Album of the Year and 2013’s self-titled, “KAHELE“. In 2012, he was asked to teach hula to a small group of Ni’ihauan women, based on mele he had written for the island. It has since blossomed into monthly visits for hula with Kuana teaching an official organized Ni’ihau halau, “Na Lei Lanakila O Ni’ihau“. He has had a long-standing relationship with the Ni’ihau ohana and has worked hard to raise visibility and revenue to their Lei Pupu or shell lei. He takes lei for sale on many of his trips, bringing 100% back to the lei maker. His passion and support have furthered the art and benefitted countless families in need of assistance. Kuana currently maintains his own Hawaiian Music & Culture School in Japan. He teaches in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka with over 200 combined students. He offers courses in voice, haku mele, mele hula, fresh lei making, ukulele and guitar. He is one of the most popular entertainers performing in Hawaii and Japan. He performs and teaches cultural workshops all over the world.

Having claimed a coveted Beatport number 1, an ARIA award, signing with globally renowned Axtone Records and garnering international support from the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Avicii, David Guetta and Kaskade. They have produced remixes for some of the worlds biggest dance labels including Big Beat, Ultra, Neon and Onelove. 2012 was a stellar year for the duo, starting out with the release of what was to become a global sensation, their hit single, “In My Mind”, which they produced with Australian dance legend Ivan Gough and featured the vocals of up and coming indie singer Georgi Kay. The track was signed to Axwell’s iconic Axtone records and shot straight to number 1 on the Beatport charts. The track held the number 1 spot on the ARIA Club Charts for an astonishing 12 weeks, which led to them being honoured with the ARIA award for Best Dance Release. "In My Mind" was also chosen to be Pete Tong’s essential new tune and was consistently rated as one of the top dance tracks of 2012, so much so that it led to Axwell receiving a Grammy Nomination for Best Remix of the track. Following the success of "In My Mind", Kaskade enlisted the duo to remix his single “Room For Happiness” featuring Skylar Grey, which then led to them producing official remixes for Adrian Lux, John Dahlback, Marcus Schultz, Strange Talk, Grant Smillie and Walden. Their next single “Universe” was released through Neon Records towards the end of 2012 with a huge remix from Spanish star David Tort, and was again exclusively previewed on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. It has been supported by the likes of Tiesto, Thomas Gold, Afrojack, Fedde Le Grand, Gregori Klosman, Deniz Koyu and more.

Link | 1 | 1 | Tom's Story | Tom's Story | Philippines | Tom's Story | Tom’s Story is an instrumental rock trio based in Manila, Philippines. Comprised by Gabba Santiago (guitar), Tom Naval (bass), and Christer de Guia (drums), the band officially formed in 2010, during their senior year in high school. Heavily influenced by Taking Back Sunday and Circa Survive, they started playing at punk shows south of Manila. In 2012, the band opened for Malaysian indie act Silent Scenery’s Manila tour in B-Side, Makati City. A year later, they released two tracks via a split EP with two other local bands, Legarda and Monochrome. By then, Tom’s Story’s sound has evolved from punk rock to instrumental rock, treading a significant shift in sound. During the same year, they were one of the opening acts for Singapore-based post-rock band Anechois, for the latter’s ‘A Shadow of Sound’ tour in SaGuijo, Makati City. 2014 was a busy year for Tom’s Story. Aside from playing for local gig production, A Spur of the Moment Project, among others, they were also a part of tide/edit’s Foreign Languages album launch, Wilderness’ Ballroom Dancing bar tour, and Rock Ed’s Rock the Riles (Boni Station, Mandaluyong City). In 2015, they had their first overseas gig, in Honey Hive Gallery, San Francisco, CA, along with Bay Area bands such as Ordinary Neighbors and Cstlblk. The band also was among the acts that took the Indie Stage during the annual Fête de la Musique in the country. Tom’s Story has been a crowd favorite, consistently drawing a solid response from the live show audience and garnering recognition among peers, not just within the instrumental rock community, but the local music scene as a whole. Their rhapsodizing energy onstage, dynamically charged sets have gained favorable feedback from gig-goers, social media, and online press. - MC Galang (Vandals On The Wall, Amplify.ph)

Link | 1 | 1 | Electric Loopstation | Electric Loopstation | Electric Loopstation | Peter Moorkens Electric Loopstation is a one person band who's experimenting with all kind of musical genres. The music is often described as filmmusic because it calls up strong images. Electric Loopstation is basically influenced by Pink Floyd and Klaus Schulze but with a wide range of other artists that slips into the music. Apart from the more ambient/trance pieces there are also simple popsongs . These can be interwoven in broader contexts or be plain (space) rock songs. Mostly he plays all instruments himself but now and then he gets a helping hand from friends from his earlier bands. This is more a studio project.

Link | 1 | 1 | Slow Motion Centerfold | Slow Motion Centerfold | Slow Motion Centerfold | A rock band from Nashville, TN comprised of four best friends from childhood (two of whom are brothers). their energy is as explosive as their songs are melodious. Pulling from a variety of influences, Slow Motion Centerfold's songs roll along with roaring guitar riffs, disco-dance bass, barroom piano parts, rhythmic drums and keyboard lines equally at home on a Prince or Cure tune. The band's influences are so broad they are hard to pin down musically. Guitar rock revisionists? Keyboard pop song deconstructionists? SMC can play in a lot of different keys. But whatever you want to call the sound, the band brings an intensity to their live shows, driven largely by front man Alex Hall's high wire antics. Their debut album titled "Rock The Body Language" was produced by Brian Virtue, whose list of credits include Jane's Addiction, Audioslave, Deftones, etc. The album is now available on iTunes, Amazon and all digital retailers.

Link | 0 | 2 | Hornsman Coyote | Hornsman Coyote | Serbia | Hornsman Coyote | Nemanja Kojić Hornsman Coyote hails from Belgrade, Serbia. Coming from a family with artistic background, he has been active on the Serbian scene since he was very young. In 1994 he formed [a=Eyesburn], a legendary crossover band that toured the whole Europe and did 7 albums which are unfortunately released only in their home country. In 2004 [a= Eyesburn] collaborated with Max Cavalera ([a=Soulfly]), which resulted with the hit single "Moses” and a European tour supporting [a=Soulfly]. This collaboration continues on the next [a=Soulfly] album „Dark Ages” with the song "Inner spirit”. Coyote was a special guest on the "Dark ages” European tour. After touring with [a=Soulfly] he decided to continue his career as a free agent solo artist. Since he has been into reggae and roots culture for years, the new sound he built grow organically. He packed his instrument into a small bag and left to London (UK) with the straight intention to play trombone in a roots reggae style. The first producer who gave the chance to Coyote was [a=Jerry Lions], known as guitar and bass player for many great reggae bands. Later on everything comes to its place and Coyote recorded for many reggae producers like: Ras Muffet, Jah Works, Repentance music, Paco Ten, Kris Naphtali… Apart from playing trombone for UK dub productions, Coyote also runs a singing carrier.

This training is born from a common passion for the rhythmic jamaican 60's and the richness of the sound of the Big Band swing years. The NSJO brings together the best and brightest of musicians of ska and jazz from the region of Lorraine following formations already well established, such as The Casa Wobbly, Magic Dub Skatolog All Stars, the Tut and the Great Jazz of the rue Sigisbert or Maria Godsinger Devil Quartet. The repertoire of the Big Band is based on both original compositions as arrangements of the great names in the ska and jazz : Herbie Hancock, The Skatalites, Stan Kenton, Toots and the Maytals... The participation of the young and talented Maria Godsinger the song brings to the whole a vocal presence more than refreshing. February 19, 1936 in Laurel, Mississippi d. July 17, 2006 in Dallas, Texas Sam Myers, the Mississippi blues singer and harmonica ace whose career got a second wind in Texas, died Monday after a yearlong battle with throat cancer. He was 70. Mr. Myers died at his home in East Dallas, where he'd lived since 1986 when he left the Delta to join Dallas-based Anson Funderburgh & the Rockets. Diagnosed with throat cancer in February 2005, he had his larynx removed in April at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and had been recovering at home. ``Sam had his own unique style that people now try to emulate," Funderburgh said Monday in a prepared statement. ``His harmonica playing had this hornlike quality to it that made him sound different than Sonny Boy [Williamson] or Big Walter," said his friend and collaborator, Brian ``Hash Brown" Calway. ``He was a great vocalist and songwriter, too. He'd get up onstage and make up a song on the spot about some girl who'd just broke his heart and it would put chills up your neck." His best-known song was 1956's ``Sleeping in the Ground," a gritty blues noir about a jealous lover that was later recorded by everyone from Robert Cray to Blind Faith, the British group featuring Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton. Last year, Clapton told the Dallas Morning News, ``I'm a big fan of Sam Myers." Born in 1936 in Laurel, Miss., and raised near Jackson, Mr. Myers spent most of his life nearly blind, the result of a childhood bout with cataracts. After teaching himself to play drums, he landed a scholarship in the early '50s at a music school in Chicago, where he met Elmore James. He toured with the ``Dust My Broom" hit-maker for nearly a decade and played harmonica on James' 1961 classic ``Look on Yonder Wall." ``Sleeping in the Ground," a solo hit for Mr. Myers, introduced him to a new generation of fans in the 1960s and '70s. But like a lot of 1950s bluesmen, Mr. Myers said he was tricked out of his songwriting royalties. ``It's a disgusting thing, really," Mr. Myers told The Dallas Morning News last year. ``This is a song I wrote, and I didn't even get a dime for it, and everybody else is making money with it." Funderburgh had been performing ``Sleeping in the Ground" for years when he met Mr. Myers at a concert in Mississippi in 1982. The two became friends, and when original Rockets singer Darrell Nulisch quit in 1986, Mr. Myers joined and moved to Dallas. With Mr. Myers fronting the group, Anson Funderburgh & the Rockets put out eight CDs and won nine W.C. Handy Awards, the blues equivalent of the Grammys. Mr. Myers won for best harmonica player (1988) and vocalist (1989). He released his first solo album in May 2004, ``Coming From the Old School." Later that year, Mr. Myers, a lifelong smoker, came down with what doctors originally thought was bronchitis. In February 2005, he was diagnosed with a malignant polyp in his throat and underwent seven weeks of radiation treatment. In August, friends staged a benefit concert featuring Jimmie Vaughan, Delbert McClinton and a brief, surprise harmonica solo by Mr. Myers. It was one of the last times he ever performed. ``Sam's one of the last of the old-school blues guys," McClinton told the Morning News before the show. ``He's out there doing it, night after night after night, and to me, that's the sign of somebody who can't get enough of it." Yet Mr. Myers didn't like to admit how passionate he was about the blues: ``For 50 years, I've looked at music the way I look at working at the mattress factory in Mississippi where I used to work -- you're just doing a job," he said last year. He was famous for his gruff exterior, which was partly a way to keep fans from fawning over him, according to his friends. Mr. Myers leaves a son, a sister, a brother, and two grandchildren. © Copyright 2006 Globe Newspaper Company. By Thor Christensen
