Link | 0 | 1 | Gerrie Woo | Gerrie Woo | United States | Gerrie Woo | Born in Compton, California, Gerrie Woo comes from a family of nine children. Raised a short distance from Hollywood, Woo (as Gerrie prefers to be called) caught the eye of world famous photographer, Peter Gowland. Just a glimpse of the beautiful teenager was enough for him to ask her to pose for a few pictures and she soon became one of his favorite models. It wasn't long after that Woo got her start in show business as a Las Vegas show girl in Marshall Edson's review, Holiday in the Orient. The headliner of that show was the late Sammy Tong, who is best remembered as "Charlie" in the Bachelor Father television series. Later, Woo was selected, from many hopefuls, to open the Hollywood Playboy Club as one of the original Playboy Bunnies. Even though Woo thoroughly enjoyed her time with the Hollywood Playboy Club she was soon offered an opportunity to pursue a singing career with popular entertainer "Mr. Bongo," Jack Costanzo. Jack, who at one time performed with the likes of Stan Kenton, Judy Garland and Nat "King" Cole, introduced the conga drum to jazz and rock music. Woo's first singing engagement with Costanzo was at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas. With her combination of talent and verve, it was apparent right from the start that Woo was the perfect addition to the Costanzo group. Costanzo and Woo earned raved reviews from the critics in Las Vegas particularly after they introduced a new, fast-rising Latin number "La Bamba" to the Tropicana. Upon completion of their engagement in Las Vegas, Costanzo and Woo headed for Puerto Rico. What was originally thought to be a short booking engagement at the El San Juan Hotel turned out to be one of the Hotel's longest gigs, a contract for the entire season! While at the El San Juan, Tico Label signed Woo to do an album with Jack Costanzo called Latin Percussion with Soul. Other albums followed, notably their most popular album, Viva Tirado on the Crescendo Label. The group went on to entertain the American GIs at USO shows in Vietnam, the Philippines and Bangkok. Woo would later reflect, "My greatest experience was when we toured the Far East, especially when we penetrated deep into enemy territory in Vietnam to entertain the troops. What thrilled me years later was when someone in the audience would walk up to the bandstand and say, 'I first saw you and Jack Costanzo in Nam and here I am seeing you again in the USA!'" For over 25 years, Costanzo and Woo continued to entertain around the world in their unique and dynamic style with a mixture of Latin music, R&B, jazz, rock and classic ballads; they became particular favorites in San Diego at such notable clubs as the Stardust Hotel and Country Club, the Catamaran, the Hotel Del Coronado and the Copacabana Restaurant. For several of those years Jack was not only the band leader, he was also Woo's husband. Even after they were no longer Mr. and Mrs. Costanzo, they continued to perform together for many years. Woo, who also fronted other groups such as Pitch and Woo and Woo's Folly admitted that the performing chemistry between her and Jack was special. "We just work well together," said Woo. "We worked with other people, but it's not the same."

Gerald Cleaver is one of the New York jazz scene’s leading drummer/composers, who covers a wide range of stylistic ground. Having played with jazz masters Tommy Flanagan, Barry Harris and Ray Bryant as well as the leading lights of the AACM, Roscoe Mitchell, Muhal Richard Abrams, Wadada Leo Smith and Henry Threadgill, he is a product of many traditions within creative music. Cleaver is best known for his associations with Roscoe Mitchell, Charles Gayle, Miroslav Vitous, Mario Pavone, William Parker, Michael Formanek, Joe Morris, Jeremy Pelt, Craig Taborn and Yaron Herman. He is also the leader of the bands Uncle June (a reflection on the personal and familial challenges of Black Americans during The Great Migration featuring TonyMalaby, Andrew Bishop, Mat Maneri, Craig Taborn and Drew Gress), Violet Hour (a tribute to Detroit featuring Jeremy Pelt, JD Allen, Andrew Bishop, Ben Waltzer and Chris Lightcap), Black Host (a noisy avant-garde group featuring Pascal Niggenkemper, Cooper-Moore, Darius Jones and Brandon Seabrook) and Farmers By Nature (a free-improvising collective co-led with bassist William Parker and pianist Craig Taborn). Born 1963 and raised in Detroit, Cleaver is a product of the city’s rich music tradition. Inspired by his father, drummer John Cleaver, Jr. (whom Uncle June is named after), he began playing the drums at an early age. He later played violin in grade school and trumpet in junior high & high school. As a teenager he gained invaluable experience playing with Detroit jazz masters Ali Muhammad Jackson, Lamont Hamilton, Earl Van Riper, and Pancho Hagood. While attending the University of Michigan as a music education major he was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Study Grant, to study with drummer Victor Lewis. He graduated in 1992 and began teaching in Detroit where he worked with Rodney Whitaker, Marcus Belgrave, Donald Walden, and with visiting musicians Hank Jones, Kenny Burrell, Frank Foster, Cecil Bridgewater, Eddie Harris, Howard Johnson, Diana Krall and Don Byron. In 1995 he accepted an appointment as assistant professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Michigan, and in 1998 also joined the jazz faculty at Michigan State University. He moved to New York in 2002 and has since focused exclusively on playing. Cleaver has played and recorded with a cornucopia of artists including Franck Amsallem, Tim Ries, Lotte Anker, Reggie Workman, Marilyn Crispell, Matt Shipp, Kevin Mahogany, Ralph Alessi, Jacky Terrasson, Jimmy Scott, Muhal Richard Abrams, Dave Douglas, Roy Nathanson, Tim Berne, Jeremy Pelt, Ellery Eskelin, Charles McPherson, David Torn, Terje Rypdal and Lou Reed. His 2001 recording Adjust (Fresh Sound New Talent) was nominated in the Best Debut Recording category by the Jazz Journalists Association. Gerald Cleaver's Detroit (Fresh Sound New Talent), is an homage to his hometown and to the late, great Detroit drummers Roy Brooks, Lawrence Williams, George Goldsmith and Richard "Pistol" Allen. His latest recording with Uncle June, Be It As I See It (Fresh Sound New Talent) represents Cleaver’s most personal statement with regard to his familial past and his experience as an Black American.

Link | 0 | 1 | Kemal Golden | Kemal Golden | Los Angeles | Kemal Golden | For Kemal Golden, creating music is as instinctual as breathing. The multi-talented DJ-musician-producer grew up 45 minutes outside of Los Angeles, California where his first introduction to music came via his uncle, who was the drummer for a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum Rock & Roll band during the 80’s. What began as a young boy’s joy of banging on the drums soon shifted when the adults around him noticed he was playing with a skill beyond his years. Kemal quickly picked up other instruments, “anything I could get my hands on really,” he says, also including guitar, piano and bass. As a teenager, Kemal performed in a series of bands, continually exploring different sounds. During this period of discovery, in his teen years, he came upon electronic music and immediately fell in love with it. His newfound passion led him to start DJing, which he rapidly immersed himself in. Just one week after his 18th birthday, Kemal sold his drum set. With those funds along with the remaining 50% he had saved, he purchased his first set of turntables and started booking local DJ gigs almost immediately. I would just clear dance floors… They just wanted to hear Britney Spears and I wasn’t giving it to them. he laughs, reflecting on his early gigs in his hometown. Luckily, Kemal soon found his people at King King, the Hollywood nightclub that’s still a huge draw for club goers and eminent DJs. “The day I got the call from an LA promoter was when I quit all the other gigs,” he says. I put all of my focus into my LA show on Saturday. I felt like finally I had a place where they appreciated what I was doing. To me that was more important than anything else. Those nights were also a huge learning experience, where he learned to create completely improvised sets at shows that could last up to six hours. The talents he cultivated in Los Angeles would soon find an audience abroad. During a chance encounter with a record label owner who was visiting from Switzerland for a DJ gig, Kemal gave him a CD with some of his demo songs. Kemal was immediately signed as an exclusive artist and the label started booking him throughout Europe. It was at a gig in Ibiza, the Spanish resort city renowned for its all-night parties, that Kemal’s idea of what is future could be expanded. He saw DJs who were performing for enormous crowds, playing bigger sounding progressive house music. I went to all of these huge clubs and it opened up my eyes. It gave me a new recharge to go back to LA, put the sound I was making to the side and get re-inspired, making more of a bigger-room commercial sound of house music. Since that creative rebirth, Kemal has found himself collaborating with some of the biggest Producer-DJs in the business, including Dave Audé, who has 80 Billboard #1 remixes to his credit; and Kaskade, who made history in 2012 by being the first electronic music artist to headline LA’s Staples Center. Kemal is currently signed with My Vice Productions headed by front man DJ Vice, composing many original tracks & remixes under his guidance for Vice. On his own, Kemal has remixed and produced tracks for artists such as Kaskade, EDX, Nadia Ali, Heather Bright, Neon Trees and Linkin Park. Kemal can’t stop being creative, and finds inspiration at all hours of the day, whether he’s in the studio or not. He has saved hundreds of voice recordings from his old Phone, which contain beats and parts of songs he thought of while doing something else. It all goes back to being a kid and playing music. I love having the idea and then… He pauses. To finish his thought, he taps his head right above his ear and then opens his palm into the air, releasing imaginary sound waves.

Ask emerging superstar KAY to list five adjectives that best sum up her sound, and she immediately ticks off those disparate yet captivating words. Which is coincidental because while "emotional, crazy, soulful, throwback" and "electric" do indeed conjure KAY's giddy, hiphop-goosed pop, they also serve as handy sub-headlines for a career trajectory that's zoomed from pastoral Nova Scotia to Los Angeles via London and Vancouver in just a few years, making believers out of tastemakers like DJ Tiesto and OneRepublic songwriter/producer Ryan Tedder along the way. And so the story of KAY unfolds.

Its history can be traced back to the year 1448 and the Trumpet Corps at the royal court of the Danish King Christian I. In 1770 the ensemble was relieved of its military obligations and continued as the resident orchestra of [l=Det Kongelige Teater], the royal Danish theater in Copenhagen, a role held by the orchestra for now close to a quarter of a millennium. Today the orchestra employs around 100 musicians and is also the orchestra of [l=Operaen], the opera house of Copenhagen. Det Kongelige Kapel is not the "national" orchestra of Denmark. That role is held by DR SymfoniOrkestret (in English: The Danish National Symphony Orchestra), which is the ensemble of [l=DR], the Danish national public service broadcasting corporation. |

Link | 0 | 1 | Style Scott | Style Scott | Style Scott | Lincoln Valentine Scott Lincoln Valentine "Style" Scott's skills as a drummer were first spotted when he was still a very young man by non other than Prince Far I, having served his time as a studio hanger-arounder, soaking up the vibe and honing his skills on the skins. He was soon inducted into Far I's own rhythm section The Arabs, appearing for example on Volume 3 of his 'Cry Tuff Dub Encounter' series - also featuring Adrian Sherwood under the guise of 'The Dub Syndicate' in one of his first outings as producer-in-charge. Around the same 1978-9 period Creation Rebel (more or less The Arabs reincarnated without Prince Far I) were developing a strong repertoire and live following. It was one such Creation Rebel line up, including Style Scott, that Prince Far I brought from Jamaica to the UK to tour, that provided the first opportunity for Style and Sherwood to cross paths. Many of Creation Rebel's recordings were subsequently issued in the UK through Adrian Sherwood's and Far I's label Hitrun, and their original edition's are now considered highly collectable. In 1980 with the forming of On-U Sound, Scott was sucked into Adrian's merry band of singers and players the formed the crew for the new label's first releases and settled there for the duration. First outings in his new role saw him providing drums and / or percussion for the likes of the New Age Steppers, Deadly Headley, Playgroup, African Head Charge, Bim Sherman and the Singers And Players. Between 1989-93 as part of the sprawling, Gary Clail fronted, On-U Sound System the influence of Scott's writing credits on tracks such as 'The Emotional Hooligan' and 'Rumours' are clear for all to hear. Besides his work for Adrian Sherwood, Scott remained a very busy session musician in the first half of the the 1980's and was a key member of the era's top Jamaican rhythm section, Roots Radics, before the arrival of the digital era after which nothing was quite the same again for reggae musicians. From an On-U Sound point of view though, Style Scott is most well known for being the creative heart of Dub Syndicate - a forward-looking, but backward-nodding dub / reggae collective, usually with Adrian Sherwood along side him at the helm. Though Scott was only associated with the group's name from its second album 'One Way System' he has progressively made it his own ever since. Having returned full time to Jamaica and set up his own label Lion & Roots (L&R), Dub Syndicate riddims are typically now laid in Jamaica by Scott, exported to London for Sherwood to undertake the final mix and then released through L&R rather than On-U Sound as was once the case. Style Scott was born in 1955 and died October 11th 2014.

Link | 0 | 1 | Gerard Schwarz | Gerard Schwarz | United States | Gerard Schwarz | Gerard Ralph Schwarz The award-winning American conductor and trumpeter Gerard Schwarz was born on August 19, 1947 in Weehawken, New Jersey. Schwarz serves as Music Director of the Emmy-winning All-Star Orchestra series, which airs on public television. Schwarz is also Music Director of the Eastern Music Festival, and is the Conductor Laureate of the Seattle Symphony. He played in the orchestras of Bernstein, Boulez, Stokowski and Leinsdorf, and was hailed as “the new Bernstein” when he gave up his solo career at age 30 to turn his talents to conducting. Schwarz raised the Seattle Symphony from obscurity to top-tier status, mostly on the basis of a comprehensive series of groundbreaking recordings. His discography of 350 titles features critically acclaimed performances of both established and new repertoire. The maestro is a renowned interpreter of nineteenth-century repertoire, in addition to his significant work with American composers. Schwarz began his musical career as a trumpeter. His early solo recordings are collectors' items, and constitute an enduring high point of virtuoso trumpet playing for discerning fans, students and aficionados. His most influential teacher was the first trumpet of the New York Philharmonic, William Vacchiano, with whom he studied from 1962 to 1968. While still a student at Juilliard, Schwarz auditioned for Leopold Stokowski and played with the American Symphony Orchestra onstage at Carnegie Hall. When Schwarz auditioned for the American Brass Quintet they initially turned him down, fearing he would be drafted though he had a military exemption. They accepted him a year later in 1965, when another player left the ensemble. He toured Europe and Asia with them while still a student, and remained with them until 1973. In addition to his American Brass Ensemble performances, Schwarz kept up a busy schedule of conducting gigs and solo appearances during the late sixties. He led the Soho Ensemble and performed at the French American Festival at Lincoln Center. He also conducted the Erick Hawkins Dance Company and the Eliot Feld Ballet Company. Additionally, he became a member of the Aspen Festival and Casals Festival orchestras. In 1973 Schwarz joined the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and became co-principal trumpet. He also worked as a freelancer, conductor and teacher during this time. In 1974 he performed Haydn's Trumpet Concerto with the orchestra, and received critical praise from Harold C. Schonberg of the New York Times. In 1975 had his orchestral conducting debut at Avery Fisher Hall with the Cosmopolitan Symphony. He also founded the Waterloo Village Music Festival in Jersey the same year. In 1977 Schwarz left the New York Philharmonic, then co-founded the New York Chamber Symphony and served as their music director until 2002. He also succeeded Sir Neville Marriner as music director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, a position he held until 1985. Schwarz joined Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival in 1982 and served as their music director until 2001. He is credited with upgrading the orchestra and expanding the festival program to include Mozart's concert operas, rarely heard arrangements of Mozart's works by 20th-century composers, and even some 20th-century examples of Neo-Classicism. He is now Conductor Emeritus of the Mostly Mozart Festival. In 1983 Schwarz joined the Seattle Symphony Orchestra as music advisor, and was invited to become their principal conductor in 1984. In 1985 he also accepted the role of music director, which he held until 2011. Under Schwarz' leadership the Seattle Symphony produced more than 100 recordings and a number of television shows. They won two Emmys for the Seattle Symphony From Benaroya Hall series, and garnered thirteen Grammy nominations. Schwarz has led orchestras throughout the world, including the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Berlin Radio Symphony, Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the London Symphony, the Montreal Symphony, the Orchestre National de France, the Singapore Symphony, the Tokyo Philharmonic, and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz. In the United States he has led the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Minnesota Orchestra, the National Symphony, the Oregon Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Saint Louis Symphony and the San Francisco Symphony. From 2001 to 2006, Schwarz served as music director of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Schwarz is also known for his opera performances, and has appeared with the Juilliard Opera, the Kirov Opera, the Mostly Mozart Festival, the San Francisco Opera, the Seattle Opera, and the Washington National Opera. Since leaving the Seattle Symphony, Schwarz has served as music director and principal conductor of the Emmy-winning All-Star Orchestra, which features a handpicked ensemble of star players who come together annually for an eight-episode American Public Television series. The performances are also made available by Naxos on DVD. His forthcoming memoir, Schwarz on Schwarz: An American Icon Talks Music, is scheduled for release in 2016.

Fascinated with the mystery of recorded sounds and their evocative power, following his father’s example, he enjoys capturing scenes of family life and sounds surrounding him and archives them to build a library of living memories he can call upon whenever he wants. During his studies, as part of a team producing musical shows on a community radio, Olivier enjoys experimenting with editing and sound collages. Having started by collecting urban sounds from the town where he lives, his sensibility and leisure pursuits have lead him to recording natural soundscapes since 2000. He does not define himself as a collector of natural sounds nor as a sound artist, his open approach to recording focusing first and foremost on listening in a contemplative manner. Olivier currently works for the Cultural services of the région Centre in France.

Having studied music in his native Naples, Fasano established in 1947 the chamber orchestra Collegium Musicum Italicum later renamed I Virtuosi di Roma. This small orchestra helped popularize Italian Baroque music. He conducted widely in Europe works by such composers as Corelli, Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Baldassarre Galuppi, Alessandro Marcello, and Giovanni Paisiello. In addition, he founded the "Piccolo Teatro Musicale Italiano" in 1957. The best-known of Fasano's recordings (most of which were for the RCA label) is that of an opera by a non-Italian musician: Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, with Shirley Verrett, Anna Moffo, and Judith Raskin in the cast.

Link | 0 | 1 | Anita Kelsey | Anita Kelsey | United Kingdom | Anita Kelsey | Anita Dawn Kelsey Anita burst onto the dance scene with style in 1997 winning the UK's coveted MOBO award for her first album with Sunship, an album on which her vocals were described by 'The Face' magazine as 'soulful and rich'. The second album yielded the massive club hit 'Try Me Out' (another Kelsey vocal & co-write) which was an Agia Napa anthem of 2001 and marked Sunship out as one of the UK's seminal garage acts – culminating in their mix of 'You Bring Me Flowers' reaching #1 in the UK national charts. She collaborated on three of Dorado label-mate Matt Cooper's Outside albums at around the same time, which were much more leftfield albums and offer a much more intimate, deep and ethereal side of her writing and vocal work. Further commercial success came a year later for Anita's collaboration on D*Note's Shed My Skin (Pete Tong's record of the week) which steamed into the UK & US dance charts at # 7, topping the Belgian danc charts at # 1. The track entered the Belgian national charts, staying for 22 weeks, peaking at # 4 and has so far been featured on more than 38 compilations worldwide. Other collaborations followed, including the track 'Clouds' with Grammy nominees The Latin Project, Signum with 'Come Around Again', Cor Fijneman with 'Healing' and 'Colourless World', Bluefish (aka Evolution) with 'Been Too Long', Memento's 'New Life' with a Peter Luts remix and various other releases worldwide. Anita is also approached on a regular basis by labels and producers to write for other artists such as recent Virgin signing 'Lost Witness' whose next two singles are co-written by Anita and performed brilliantly by Tiff Lacey (who sang on Oakenfold's Hypnotise). As well as being a full-time writer (signed to BMG Music Publishing) Anita is also featured on many TV productions, commercials and feature films. Major sci-fi cult blockbuster Dark City sees American actress Jennifer Connelly miming to Anita's voice in 2 prominent scenes as well as the Kelsey rendition of 'Sway' being featured on the end credits. Other major films featuring Anita include Bring Me The Head Of Mavis Davis, Long Time Dead and Merlin. Her own project ToyShop with partner David Sun gained recognition in 2004 with their single Million Miles being voted Top Tune in IDJ Magazine/Sure Player in DJ Magazine and was supported by prominent DJ's such as Pete Tong, Pete Heller, Timo Maas, Pete Gooding and others. The track is included on Defected's Café Mambo 10th Anniversary compilation. Anita's recent track 'Every Kiss' on Extrema Records also featured a ToyShop mix, and an eclectic mixture of original material is currently being crafted lovingly by the duo into a ToyShop album. Anita is currently working on new tracks with Signum, has finished two songs with Markus Schulz for his album (including the current single 'First Time'), has just signed a new release with Airwave under the disguise of 'Velvet Girl', a fresh new Trancesetters collaboration and is soon to announce more exciting new material with major trance producers throughout Europe, the US and Canada. She's currently on a new excursion into house with Hardsoul, Rui Da Silva, René Amesz and TDR with an exciting, varied and surprising (not forgetting X-rated in some cases!) new batch of tunes. Be sure to listen out for the new soulful house track 'Good Lovin' by Ashman and Perky with vocals by Anita on Armada's Fame imprint. info@anitakelsey.com

Link | 0 | 1 | Alfredo Marcucci | Alfredo Marcucci | Alfredo Marcucci | Bandoneon player, performer, composer and ambassador of Argentine tango, born September 14, 1929 in a village named Ensanada, Argentina. Growing up in Buenos Aires, young Alfredo was taught the virtues of the bandoneon by his uncle, the well-known orchestra leader [a=Carlos Marcucci]. Prompted by the death of his father, at the age of 15 he began playing and touring professionally, and at the age of 18 he joined the orchestra of his other mentor, [a=Julio De Caro]. Several other orchestras later (Raúl Camplún, Osvaldo Donatto, Enrique Pranccini, Juan Canaro), he lived the dream of recording with that of the famous [a=Carlos Di Sarli] in 1956. Three years later it was dissolved due to ill health, and Alfredo ended up playing bass for a jazz ensemble during a tour of the Middle East. Crossing paths with [a=Luis Alberto Del Parana]'s famous group in Istanbul in 1961, he recorded and toured with the Paraguayos for many years until, in 1976, he decided he'd had enough, hung up his bandoneon and settled in Belgium to devote time to his family and the blue-collar life of a factory worker making plastic lamps. A few years later, Alfredo was coaxed back into the game by local fans and compatriots. He soon found himself opening a music school, teaching tango at the Academy of Ixelles, performing on the European stage with numerous ensembles (including a few stints with [a=Reynaldo Meza Y Los Paraguayos]), and recording with Belgian string quartet [a=Ensemble Piacevole]. In 2004 he was invited to Turin to train and direct the first Argentine tango orchestra in Italy -- which was named in his honour. Alfredo Marcucci passed away on June 12, 2010 in Landen, Belgium at the age of 81.

Link | 0 | 1 | Ashley Tomberlin | Ashley Tomberlin | Ashley Tomberlin | Ashley Tomberlin Never one to follow convention, Ashley Tomberlin began her love affair with music early in life, but on her own terms with no formal training or influence other than her own inclination. After a chance encounter with UK producer Arksun, this unknown vocalist and musician from the United states embarked on a musical collaboration called Luminary. Although Luminary released only a small handful of successful tracks before the eventual breakup of their partnership, their music still strikes a resonant chord with their loyal fan-base of music lovers worldwide. Their first Luminary track "My World" received major support from dance music's hard hitters like Armin van Buuren, and was snapped up by Lost Language to be included on the massive Tiesto - In Search Of Sunrise 4 compilation. Since then, "My World" has grown into a full on 3 disc release including the much praised Andy Moor remix. The second release "Wasting" was burnt into Armin's A State of Trance compilation almost before it had even been signed, and was swiftly released on Armada's infamous Soundpiercing label. Next, after joining forces with Anjunabeats, Ashley and Luminary released Amsterdam; charting at no. 1 for Paul Van Dyk in the December issue of Mixmag and rated at 5/5 by DJ Magazine. Additionally, Amsterdam has been played out everywhere from BBC Radio 1's "Dave Pearce Dance Anthems" to TATW Above and Beyond's Trance Around the World and ASOT Armin Van Buuren's A State of Trance. Her next collaboration with Above and Beyond on their debut album Tri-State. Collaborating with Tony, Paavo and Jono on a stunning track titled Can't Sleep, Ashley again demonstrated her trademark vocal style; combining breathless melodies with intense emotion. This in addition to her distinctive lyrical phrasing, has helped set her apart from so many other vocalists in the genre. After another chance meeting with none other than dance music legend, Paul Van Dyk, Ashley was given the opportunity to collaborate on some new album tracks for Paul's highly acclaimed album "In Between", and the rest, as they say "is history". You can expect great things from this up and coming artist, but most of all, expect the unexpected! It has been a strange journey, but a good one, and Ashley is definitely keeping her watchful eyes on the future and her ears open to new inspiration.
