Payne had already co-written the Visage hit "Fade to Grey" and was collaborating with his former Numan bandmates in Dramatis, but The Electronic Circus was his solo project. "Direct Lines" (a Payne composition) was their only release but failed to chart. Link | 1 | 1 | Hazed | Hazed | Hazed | Hazed Hazed is the aftermath of a chance meeting in late 1993 at the legendary Simons in Gainesville, Florida. Here amongst an all-star cast, Rabbit in the Moon's David Christophere bumped into Nick Simpson --- the man who with Richard Brown (of Swag, Cherry Bomb fame) was half of seminal Warp Records act "Rhythm Invention". Soon thereafter a modest handful of unique, electrifying tracks were finished which would slowly see the light of day over the course of the next seven (!) years. First was the now classic "Bells" EP* on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label from Canada. Next was the "Disconnected" EP here on Hallucination Recordings. Since then, Nick has since been back in Leeds, UK where he has recorded as "Slick n' Flash" with Ralph Lawson for Phono and 20/20 Vision Recordings. The most recent work as Slick n’ Flash is their remix of David Christophere’s “Lift” project on Hallucination Limited. David has continued to be the driving force behind one of America's most intriguing and dynamic production outfits, Rabbit in the Moon. We can only hope a twist of fate may pair them again to realize their resonating vision of house and techno, but for now we continue to groove the resonating rhythms of those classic sessions.

Starting with an Organ standing at my parents house by playing melodies that I heard on the radio. I started to create my own music when I got my first sinthesizer in 1985. In time when more devices entered my room I started to play music with some friends of mine. The first oppertunity to compose music for others came from a company in Almere. It was the first time for me to compose music on this scale, and for the company the first time to work with a musician. In 1992 a new era of music started for me. I worked together for and with other musicians on several dance projects. I also worked with a singer and we wrote several pop songs. In 1993 I published my first CD: "The Force of Music" at the label [l=Audio Works]. My second album "Waves In The Sky" (1994) was published at the label [l=Cue Records (Netherlands)]. Late 1994 I joined the symphonic rockband Salisbury as a keyboardplayer. This way I could develop myself more into a live performer. The band broke up shortly after we recorded our demo tape "The Next". When I played the fantastic game Marathon (Bungie) I came with the idea to record a concept CD, a CD with a story behind it. All the tracks on the CD are a part of the story. This the Blue Team CD was released in 1996 by [l=Cue Records (Netherlands)]. Shortly after the release they organised a concert at "de Landing" (eindhoven) where I could perfom my music. 2002 was the year to get back after a break into the music. I worked on a score for a movie called "Iskariot"...

Link | 1 | 1 | Lena Willikens | Lena Willikens | Germany | Cologne-based DJ and producer | Lena Willikens | Nothing trains a DJ more than a long lasting residency. A truism that the Cologne based musician and DJ Lena Willikens always proves when she spins her vinyl. For the past fve years, she has been in charge of long and sweaty Friday night parties at Düsseldorf’s free-spirited club/bar Salon Des Amateurs. She is also a dedicated member of the Cómeme records tribe and all its missions: her name is frequently on the label's party bills and she runs the monthly radio show "Sentimental Flashback" for Radio Cómeme. As a DJ, radio broadcaster, producer, and Theremin player, Lena is never committed to one style, all is welcome as long as it is twisted the in a one-of-a-kind way. She also produced the very special ghost wave track, "High Holes“ for the vinyl only sampler "Kingii", released by the Düsseldorf based label Slowboy Records. Her latest release is a contribution to the "Noise of Cologne 2" sampler. Here she delivers, together with Melanie Wratil (Institut Fuer Feinmotorik) under the alias Titanoboa, some heavy hitting industrial emotions. When she spins records she likes to let herself go in the name of dance and free thought. May it be obscure proto-techno, jacking spirits, industrial boogie, synthesized disco, raw house, or other outernational rhythms |

Ola Håkansson sang on the demo and was 'forced' to join in for the contest, and that's how it all started. Sort of anyway... |

Link | 1 | 1 | The Swing Shoes | The Swing Shoes | The Swing Shoes | The Swing Shoes were formed in Athens in 2006. Initially a street guitar duo, they gradually evolved into a four piece, adding bass and drums. More often then not they perform with a fifth member on harmonica. At first their music appears to follow the rules of the swing folk idiom; it is rhythmic, vibrant, feel-good music. However, their covers of traditional Greek tunes, jazz standards, and several off-the-cuff numbers are so unpredictable that the listener finds himself puzzled, wondering “where does this familiar tune come from?” They appear regularly in many clubs in Athens and have played many festivals all over Greece. Their first album “Ladies & Gents, HERE’S THE SWING SHOES” was released in 2010 on Prominence Records and received rave reviews. It was a predominantly instrumental album of traditional and gypsy swing tunes, with just one song featuring Sugahspank!, marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration that continues to this day with explosive results. In 2012 they performed in front of 8000 people at the Athens Concert Hall Gardens. In 2013 they appeared for the first time in Germany (Munich's Kulturfestival) and Cyprus. In 2014 they returned to the Athens Concert Hall to record their second album, A Holy Show, which includes original material written with Sugahspank!. Their music nowadays has a lot of blues and gospel influences, but remains as driving and energetic as ever.

Coming from a background playing in post-punk bands over the past years, Phase Fatale is an artistic endeavor that serves as an outlet for his own interpretation of darker, harder and industrial-influenced techno. Brutal productions confronted by sinister atmospheres create a sound imprint that has mutated into a new electronic identity. Rigid drumming, cold synths and bleak samples - the image of future war. Phase Fatale has released on labels such as Avant! and Aufnahme + Wiedergabe since 2014 documenting his ever-evolving output. 2016 sees him continuing on to Jealous God, the label co-run by Regis, Silent Servant and James Ruskin.

Link | 1 | 1 | am.psych | am.psych | Milwaukee | am.psych | am.psych began in early 2003 as a creative experiment between longtime friends David Manning & John Verbos. Fueled by influences spanning across many genres, excessive amounts of caffeine, and a fair measure of social disdain brought on by entry level, low paying employment, these two curmudgeons began experimenting with software to achieve their desired sound. After nearly a decade of tireless live performances throughout the Midwestern United States and a number of lineup changes, am.psych has settled into a steady rhythm. Comprised, now, of musicians who share a vision of the same end product sound: a seamless blend of classic coldwave industrial, 80s synth pop, and 90s alternative rock. This objective was only further solidified by the production and recording talents of Dan Clark (The Dark Clan, Stromkern), who has now taken on the role of full-time guitarist for the band, and Brian Graupner (The Gothsicles) as live keyboardist. am.psych is often most well known for their camaraderie with other musicians. This is most exemplified by the many guest appearances onstage for their chanting, industrial rock anthem, “Reload”, by various fans and friends of the band including but not limited to: David Schock (WTII Records), Sean Payne (Cyanotic), and Jim Semonik (Rein[Forced]). It has also become a common practice for am.psych to welcome guest fill-in appearances (sometimes longer, like in the case of Dan Clark) onstage by label mates such as The Gothsicles or fellow Milwaukee musicians such as Incekt (Jeremy), Neuroverse (Jon Richter), and EvilTwin (Kanoa Azinger). With the release of their debut EP, “Side Effects”, am.psych officially signed to WTII records, and has since been at work on their full length LP, a project which in many ways embodies the growth and change within the band as well as its members,

Link | 1 | 1 | Pale Roses | Pale Roses | France | Pale Roses | Pale Roses have been playing neo-folk since the mid 2000’s. Back to basics is their motto: acoustic guitar or bass, a bit of piano, classic songwriting. Do not expect orchestral or experimental parts! Up to now, there’s been none. Lyrics are usually inspired by History (first and second world wars), Mythology (Celtic, Norse or Greek), Occultism (Madame Blavatsky) or Fantasy («Pale Roses» was a short story by Michael Moorcock) and British murder ballads. The bands and albums that influenced Pale Roses are: Sol Invictus («Death of the West»), Fire+Ice («Birdking»), Death In June («Rose Clouds of Holocaust»), Current 93 («Soft Black Stars»), Strength Through Joy («The Force of Truth and Lies»). Of course, if Pale Roses are ready to pay their dues to the founders of the neo-folk genre, it is not forbidden to also mention Nick Drake, Nico or Richard Thompson (but without the virtuosity) as influences.

Dreary vocals, slow motion melody, and plodding percussion swirl together to create a crushingly depressing atmosphere. Link | 1 | 1 | Attila Csihar | Attila Csihar | Hungary | Attila Csihar | Attila Csihar Attila Csihar (He was born on March 29th, 1971) is a Hungarian (Black) Metal vocalist, best known for his vocal work on the album De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas by Mayhem. His career started in the Hungarian metal band Tormentor. The band reached a cult status in black metal circles, even without major label releases. In 1992, Attila was invited to perform vocals on De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas after Mayhem’s then-vocalist Dead committed suicide. The album became one of the quintessential albums of the genre, even though some fans consider Attila’s vocals out of place. After Mayhem, Attila continued to work in various experimental projects, such as Plasma Pool, Aborym and Korog. In 2004, he recorded vocals for the song ‘Decay2 (Nihil’s Maw)’ by American Doom/Drone Metal band Sunn O))), and even performed live with the band on their European tour. He briefly performed in Keep of Kalessin as well. Currently, Attila left Aborym in order to rejoin Mayhem as the band’s new singer, after their previous singer, Maniac, left. His final contribution to Aborym was performing lead vocals on the song Man Bites God on their 2006 album, Generator. Recently, Attila has joined Greg Anderson of Sunn O))) and Oren Ambarchi in a new project called Burial Chamber Trio.

Link | 1 | 1 | Ensemble Ambrosius | Ensemble Ambrosius | Finland | Ensemble Ambrosius | The story of the most unique approach to cross-over music began in 1995, as three early music students from Finland tried out playing some Frank Zappa’s music with baroque period instruments. What started as a merely one-time musical joke led soon to an ambitious laboratory of contemporary music, resulting the cd The Zappa Album (2000), an unheard combination of Baroque and rock. Selected as “The Record of Year 2001” by the Belgian Broadcasting Company and “The Record of Month 1/2000” by The Observer, London, The Zappa Album brought a exceptional contribution to the musical heritage of Frank Zappa. Since that the ensemble has widen its repertoire to the direction of ethno-jazz-oriented material and contemporary classical music. Ensemble Ambrosius is based in Helsinki, Finland. In addition to regular domestic performances, Ensemble Ambrosius has given concerts in Great Britain (2002), Sweden (2003,2004, 2005), Belgium (2004) Russia (2007) and Germany (2010).

From the first track, made in '95, to the final track made at the end of '99, MVFS demonstrate an evolving concept of maliciousness which so scared the artists themselves that they have vowed never to repeat this collaboration in the present dimension, and have in fact dissolved their friendship entirely, and are no longer speaking to one another!
