Link | 2 | 2 | Braiden | Braiden | United Kingdom | DJ Steve Braiden | Braiden | Steve Braiden A disc jockey (abbreviated DJ, D.J. or deejay) is a person who mixes recorded music in real time. Originally, the "disc" in "disc jockey" referred to gramophone records, but now "DJ" is used as an all-encompassing term to describe someone who mixes recorded music from any sources, including cassettes, CDs, or digital audio files on a CDJ or laptop. DJs typically perform for a live or broadcast audience, but DJs also create mixes that are recorded for later sale and distribution. DJs use equipment that can play at least two sources of recorded music simultaneously and mix them together. This allows the DJ to create seamless transitions between recordings and develop unique mixes of songs. Often, this involves aligning the beats of the music sources so their rhythms do not clash when they are played together. DJ equipment also allows the DJ to preview a source of recorded music in headphones before playing it for the audience. Previewing the music in headphones helps the DJ pick the next track they want to play and cue up the track to the desired starting location so it will mix well with the currently playing music. The title "DJ" is also commonly used by DJs in front of their real names or adopted pseudonyms or stage names as a title to denote their profession. |

Link | 2 | 2 | Suburban Studs | Suburban Studs | United Kingdom | Suburban Studs | Back in the days when London had the [a=Sex Pistols] and Manchester had [a=Buzzcocks], the Midlands had to make do with Suburban Studs, formed in Birmingham in 1976. Given this date they can be considered as one of the original punk bands. They released one LP and two singles, all in 1978 but are better known for their gigging schedule. They supported the Sex Pistols and [a=The Clash] at London's 100 Club in 1976, they also headlined in Birmingham later the same year with the Clash supporting them. Despite playing all the right venues (including the Roxy and the Marquee), supporting all the right bands (they toured with [a=AC/DC]), doing a Peel Session, and appearing on an ATV punk rock special the band never generated the sales of the other big punk bands of the time. They split without having managed a single chart hit.

They combined wild musical and sonic experimentation with alternative comedy. No really. Very few recordings made it out of the bedroom - Richard Youngs's Jabberwok was their only label. The duo then joined Well Crucial, some of whom became the A-band. They rarely play live - two gigs in 1989 and two in 2005. In 1988 they made Two Minds Working as none, a short video film with Neil Campbell. Link | 1 | 3 | Apple & Stone | Apple & Stone | Slovakia | Apple & Stone | Róbert Janíček, Juraj Mitas Apple&Stone from Trnava City in Slovakia Republic started produce first music around 1994 when 16 years old “Robert Janicek” was spending his time playing with “Casio Keyboards” and recording it on audio tapes. Three years later he met his good friend “Jan Matus” who was also very interested in music. That time it was mostly “Techno Music”. They have been producing that time on very popular computer “Atari 1040, STMF Cubase & Synthesizers Korg and Roland”. Everything was fine because they have been doing what they loved most. Music. It was also time when the name “Apple&Stone” was borne. With girl singer they recorded first single with 3 songs. But Dance Music was not exactly right choice and maybe that’s why they did not succeed in any of Recording Labels such as Sony BMG, Muzika. After trying so hard they lasted little bit longer but than was all over. One year later they tried it again in new music genre which was popular in Germany - “House Music”. They were very excited after purchasing Sampler Emu esi32 which gave them opportunities they never had before. Today Robert still has this sampler but only as a nice memories. It was very difficult time for Apple&Stone without any success which was followed by 6 years of doing pretty nothing. No music at all! However listening a watching music mostly on German TV station VIVA kept Robert’s dream still alive. He never stopped thinking about music and about the “D day” he could start all over again. One of his biggest motivation was ATB+ which still is. In year 2007 Robert started from scratch. He purchased PC and software “Reason4” and was trying to do some Trance and House music. He sent his first new song to his former college classmate “Juraj Mitas” who was in that time working on some websites. Thanks to him www.appleandstone.com website was born and created. Juraj also recommended and introduced to Robert “Apple Computers” and cool music software “Logic Pro 8” (Logic Studio) which Robert thinks is the best one for creating and producing music :-) Apple&Stone was / is creating music from Trance, Dance to Ambient music genre. But “Chill Out” brings to Apple&Stone most success which is also music genre Robert really loves and enjoys to do. “Chill Out” is something what suits him and it plays big part in his music production right now. These days Robert Janicek & Juraj Mitas work together as a “Apple&Stone”. In autumn 2008 they have sent few Demo songs on ATB+ Demo Section (atb-music.com) which was very good step followed on the end by Collaboration with André Tanneberger - ATB+ and releasing one of their song “Authentic Reaction” on his new 2009 Album “Future Memories”

His alias, Beto Narme, is Tufan Demir’s ever-growing dubstep project, with a sound that heavily focuses on repetitive beats and warm chords. The starting point of Beto Narme for Tufan Demir was the never-ending energy of dubstep, coldness of Chain Reaction Galaxy and blurry emotions of Detroit Techno, a definition which perfectly fits Tufan Demir’s innovative vision.

The group was formed by bassist [a=Ron Holzner] (ex-[a=Trouble (5)] and guitarist/vocalist [a=Dave Chandler] (formerly of [a=Saint Vitus]) in an attempt by Ron to get Dave out of retirement. Despite their stoner and doom metal pedigrees, Chandler stated he would only participate in the band if they played punk rock and Holzner agreed, although there were still doom-influences in Debris Inc.'s music. The band had no permanent drummer and several different musicians filled the drum stool on the band's 2005 self-titled album. [a=EyeHateGod]'s [a=Jimmy Bower] sat in on tour, too. After a few years, Chandler realized that he still had a distaste for touring from his days in Saint Vitus and he put the group to rest.

Link | 2 | 2 | Darking | Darking | Piombino | Darking (4) | Darking borns in Piombino in 2005 from the meeting between the guitarist Agostino Carpo and the drummer Leonardo Freschi: Agostino coming from an experience of ten years (founding member in 1984, to 1994) with "[a=Domine]", the famous Epic Metal band from Florence (but borns in Piombino); Leonardo coming from some experiences in various local bands. The common passion for Metal and Epic-Metal in general and for groups like Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne, Riot, Helstar, Coroner and Testament, and for the hard rock seventies-eighty (Uriah Heep, Badlands, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple ...), unites them in a Epic-Power musical project beginning to grow up with the entry in the group of the singer Mirko Miliani, also coming from other musical experiences in the area. After several changes of line-up, finally in 2008 joined the group the young Matteo Lupi, bass player with experiences in a speed-trash local band, so "Darking" goes to define the classic Rock four elements formation: vocal , guitar, bass and drums. Over the years "Darking" increases the activity live and the composition of the songs for the first demo, which contains five tracks. The music of "Darking" comes mainly from a game of crosses between the guitar of Agostino and the drums of Leonardo, on which are grafted the heavy rhythmic work of Matteo and the voice clean and powerful of Mirko: heavy riff and melodic chorus crosses naturally with breaks and changes of time, creating the distinctive powerful sound of the band that avoids extremes stylistic technicalities to look for the roots of the "classic" Metal eighties. The texts, written by Agostino, are taken from personal observations and from everyday life, trying to transform the poetic of everyday into epic poetry and transforming what we hear in measure of the world.

Members were: Predrag Cvetičanin Frodo - guitar, vocals Zoran Đorđević - guitar Branko - bass Boban - drums Miloš Miladinović Pacov - bass Saša Marković Markiz - drums Nenad Cvetičanin Cepi - guitar, vocals In late 1983, Predrag Cvetičanin (guitar, vocals) with Zoran Đoređvić (guitar), Branko (bass guitar), and Boban (drums) formed the band Dobri Isak. Having performed at minor local clubs, the band recorded a home made demo recording, however, the lineup dissolved during the summer of the following year. After several months Cvetičanin, with bassist Miloš Miladinović, and drummer Saša Marković “Markiz”, reformed the band. In the period of 1984 and 1985, the band member also became Nenad Cvetičanin, Predrag’s brother, who joined the band while his own, Arnold Layne, was on hiatus. Together, the band recorded their first and only studio album Mi plačemo iza tamnih naočara (We Cry Behind Dark Glasses), released in 1986 by the Niš Student Cultural Center (SKC), being the first release of the Studentkult production, which released an array of musical and literary releases. The album, released on compact cassette only and printed in a limited number of 100 copies, had been distributed by the Ljubljana ŠKUC, and rapidly sold out. The band presented their new material to the Niš audience, also performing at the 1985 Serbian Youth Festival in Knjaževac, winning the best performance award, and gaining the opportunity to appear at the Dani Novih Omladinskih Novina in Split on Summer of the same year.

Link | 1 | 3 | Playpad Circus | Playpad Circus | Berlin | Playpad Circus | Christian Fischer Christian Fischer a.k.a. Playpad Circus is an eclectic musician/composer/beatmaker from Berlin. Musically trained at very young age by his father in playing guitar and violin, Playpad Circus also started making electronic music with computer and keyboard when he was 10. A couple of years later, not saving money for that serious electric guitar, he rather spent the cash on turntables that led his way from Hip-Hop to experimental electronic music. His love for boombastic sounds, film scores, rock and club music as well as the ability to handle and combine all those different styles in his works, made him an established figure in the new German electronic scene. Soon afterwards, Playpad Circus’ connections reached out to international level where has made remixes for a diverse bunch of Hip-Hop and Indie/Electronica acts such as Kraddy (formerly of The Glich Mob), Subtle (Lex Records), 2econd Class Citizen (Equinox), Bleubird (Endemik), among others. In 2010, he released the self titled collaboration album "Noah23 / Playpad Circus" with Canadian rap legend Noah23 while he also focused on several band projects. Joining the gipsy-punk group Diving For Sunken Treasure as a bass player, he became part of the new Berlin swing scene and is constantly playing street gigs as well as big festivals. Performing numerous live electronic shows in the past 2 years as a solo artist made Playpad Circus a favoured act in the European scene. Winning the first Finest Ego Beatmaker Challenge in 2011 raised expectations for a solo release. And here we are…

Link | 2 | 2 | Spreu & Weizen | Spreu & Weizen | Germany | Spreu & Weizen | Marco Nicola Wagner Spreu & Weizen is a German neoclassical project founded in munich, june 2009 by Signore Paladino. In the beginning, the group consisted of two members, Sig. P. and Hagalaz. After a slight change in style, embodying, amongst others, black metal, neofolk and psychedelic elements, first concert plans were made, and guitarist Chris T. as well as flutist Iduna T. and Albrecht (bass) joined the group in the following year and left in june 2011. After a song on the free download compilation “Tribute to the dead soldiers Vol. II” and a track on the “Sturmreif” compilation, produced by Castellum Stoufenburc, the early releases of a split Cd-R with Der Jäger and the first album “Gott Erhalt’s” on UFA-Muzak (Russia) and Reminiscences Productions (China) lead to several collaborations with a number of other artists. Amongst others, a collaboration with German poet Uwe Lammla and Germanmartial industrial project Von Thronstahl, which was based on Lammla’s poem “Deutsche Passion”, was received with great enthusiasm. The rapid sale of “Gott Erhalt’s” was the cause to work on a re-release (Roman Edition) of the album with a bonus track on the label UFA-Muzak. In june 2011, their second album “Gott Vergelt’s” was released by Lichterklang with a lot of collaboration partners like Karma Marata, Art Abscons, Rose Rovine E Amanti and Von Thronstahl. Especially Josef Maria Klumb was a guest member on this album.A concert in Salzburg, Austria, was cancelled by the organizers ’cause of strain by antifascist movement and local newspaper publishers. Just a few months after releasing their second album, the label Fronte Nordico (Russia) published a Split-LP between Von Thronstahl and Spreu & Weizen, called “Pan-European Christian Freedom Movement”. They collaborated with Von Thronstahl once again on their last album “Corona Imperialis” with a couple of basic songs as a guest member, which was released by Trutzburg-Thule in october 2012. 2013 started with a exclusive remix called “Guerrieri Impavidi” on Lupi Gladius’ album “Lucania” by Spreu & Weizen. At present, the group is working on their third album, called “Gott Entflamm’s”. It will be released in end 2013. This CD will, once again, feature several collaborations with international artists and the single “Gott Behüt’s”, which thematize the fall of jerusalem 1099 by christian crusaders. Besides this, the guitar player Raja Anak Matahari and Frater Occultus (synth and co-vocals) joined the band in january 2013. The band is inactive since 2014 and it is unclear if the last recorded EP will ever be released.

Link | 3 | 1 | Morphamish | Morphamish | United Kingdom | Morphamish | Hamish Campbell Morphamish is an Edinburgh based producer, live set performer and DJ who plays across the range of constantly evolving bass music using elements of techno, house, dubstep, funk, jungle, acid, hardcore, electro, ambient, hiphop ….... the list is endless. He’s one very multifaceted creator playing imaginative, mind bending sets, striving to write satisfyingly original music. Musically awoken by Nirvana, Hendrix and Fugazi, everything changed in 1996 when taken to Edinburgh’s legendary “Pure”. By 1997 he had residences at notorious Edinburgh nights “Pillbox” and “Obscene” under the aliases Morph and Sola Perplexus. By 2001 he had releases on PBX and his own label Audiodacity, to much acclaim from the likes of Rob Da Bank, Daniel Benevente and Huw Stevens. Around this time he began collaborating with vocalist (and national poetry slam champion) Texture, calling themselves Double Helix and releasing material on Crystal Distortion's “Labrat Audiochemicals”, “Crunk's Not Dead” and “Audiodacity”. Double Helix found acclaim from luminaries like sci-fi godfather Warren Ellis and Mary Anne Hobbs, who called “Complacency” “One of the most inventive pieces of British hip-hop that we’ve heard in a long, long time”. His diverse tastes led to remixes / collaborations with many artists including Profisee, Banana Sessions, Stanley Odd and Freddy Frogs. Recent years have seen multi genre releases on Black Lantern (the acclaimed net label he co-founded), and on his own Morphamish.com. He’s a firm favourite at the best Scottish festivals including Knockengorroch, Kelburn Garden Party and Audio Soup and regularly appears on BBC live sessions and podcasts. He’s a member of the Chapel Perilous Art System and Amma collectives, and currently co-runs ETC, a massively fun club night with a different theme each time. Recently he started exploring the visual side of things, making as well as commissioning intense videos for his tracks, often using distinctive artwork by various well known underground artists.

Clif was instrumental in developing perhaps the biggest breakout artist of 2003, Avril Lavigne. Being among the first writer/producers to work with Avril, Clif's writing and production style became the benchmark for the album. Clif co-wrote and produced the fourth, much edgier, Avril Lavigne single "Losing Grip," as well as 5 other tracks from her multi-platinum debut "Let Go." "Losing Grip" showed a much more rock side of the album and was Avril1s personal favorite track. Her performance of the song at the Juno Awards was said to be one of the highlights of the show. "Losing Grip" got more than 2100 spins a week and topped at #29 on the Top Forty chart and #14 on MTV's rotation. He finished the project with six productions and five co-writes on the multi-platinum debut entitled, "LET GO." With the success of Avril Lavigne, Clif continued to break new ground writing and producing a whole new group of young superstars including Cherie Amore, Jessica Simpson, Charlotte Martin, O-Town and a heartfelt single for Rachel Loy (of Mass Ave), entitled "The Same Man (for Matthew). Also, Kelly Clarkson’s #1 album debut "Thankful" features 2 productions by Clif. Additionally, Clif co-wrote and produced "Hear Me" and "I Hate Myself For Losing You" from Kelly Clarkson’s 8x Platinum 2nd album, "Breakaway". At the same time, Clif co-wrote the first single "Lights Out," and five other songs with Lisa Marie Presley from her debut album "To Whom It May Concern." Clif also produced 5 songs for Clay Aiken’s debut multi-platinum album, "The Measure Of A Man" including the #1 hit, "Solitaire". Clif's string of hit singles and records began in the 1980s when he had a #1 hit with Jack Wagner ("All I Need") and a top 5 with Wilson Phillips ("Impulsive"). In 1990 Clif took home a Grammy for the song "The Places You Find Love" from Quincy Jones' critically acclaimed album "Back On The Block." Just three years later, in 1993, Clif was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the song "The Day I Fall In Love" from the film "Beethoven's 2nd". Throughout the 1990s and in to 2000, Clif continued to work with outstanding artists such as Celine Dion, Hanson, Steve Perry, Wild Orchid, Judith Owen, Amy Grant, Jude, Joe Bonamassa, and The Urge. Recently, Clif worked with artists such as Marie Digby, Avid, Andreya Triana, Tori Vasquez, Cindy Alma, Alissa Beyer, Lisa Donnelly, Days Difference, Say Chance, Ill Scarlett, Ivy Lies, Cristina Grimmie, Andrea Rosario, Renee Cassar, Caroline Sunshine, Cider Sky Sara Skinner, Brynn Elliott and Michaela Baranov. You can hear Clif’s Hanky Panky spot featuring Alissa Beyer on the American Idol tour.

After producing an EP and two full-length albums in earlier years: “Absinthe”, “Dark Serenade”, and “Ashes to Lashes”, and performing with noted acts such as The Damned, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, and Sunshine Blind, they began an extended hiatus in 2001. Daniel and Kat reformed Ophelia’s Sweet Demise in 2012, collaborating with previous members Jose Ramirez (guitar), Erik Gosnell (bass), and Brian Kuhn (guitar) to produce “Sonata Noire”. The new album draws from the band’s darkwave past with a touch more rock and sonic muscle, but retains the moody atmospheres of their previous work.

Kaye was one of a few female artists among the accomplished session musicians of the 'Wrecking Crew' Collective. Her distinctive bass-playing talents were originally rooted in the jazz arena, with the likes of [a=Jack Sheldon], [a=Billy Higgins] and [a=Teddy Edwards], before she became a 'first call' artist to Los Angeles studios. Especially for the The Beach Boys' [a=Brian Wilson], who said of her “Carol Kaye was the greatest bass player I’ve ever met”. Kaye really was one of the "California Girls". She has also produced a wealth of tutorial books and multimedia on the art of playing the bass and retired during the 1970s because of arthritis. Her solo career kicked off in 1987 with the release of her first album, "Nostalgie", a searing debut that paved the way for the following-year "Konkai Makossa", a worldwide success rewarded by a Golden Record, officially given by Paco Rabanne himself. Mbango continued in the same spirit with "Maloko" (1991), "Malea" (1996) and then a double release in 1998 with "Combines Religieuses" and "Sans papiers" (a compilation). In 2002, she started the new millennium beautifully with the release of "Mon Combat", followed in 2003 by a "Best Of" faithful to her talent. In between records, Charlotte Mbango found time to travel the world and sing for her fans. From Cameroun to the French Antilles, stopping by France, Senegal, Mali, Gabon, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Great Britain, Belgium, Sweden, USA and Canada… she knew how to open herself to the public and spread her message of love. Her huge talent was largely acknowledged and rewarded by numerous honours such as the Honorary TAMANI she got in Bamako, Mali, during the 2003 Golden TAMANI ceremony. Her musical gift allowed her to collaborate with established names in the music world such as Manu Dibango and Paul Simon, among others." https://onlifeloveandpolitics.wordpress.com/2009/06/05/charlotte-mbango-dies-in-paris-hospital/

Link | 1 | 3 | MC Hughie Babe | MC Hughie Babe | MC Hughie Babe | Hugo Langras MC Hughie Babe recorded his first dance music record in 1989 after he was invited by Peter "Hithouse" Slaghuis to record a Hip House track. Peter had heard of Hughie Babe's MC performance on a tape that was recorded by the jury of a hip hop talent search and Peter decided to give him a call. The co-operation between Hithouse and Hughie Babe led to the release "Unarmed and Dangerous" that was to become a club hit and which was later cosidered to be a classic in the gabber scene. This was primarily due to the fact that "Unarmed and Dangerous" "was played massively in the birthplace of gabber/hardcore, club Parkzicht in Rotterdam. After Peter Slaghuis died in a car crash, Hughie Babe left for the USA to study and forgot about MC-ing, until DJ Rob contacted him to re-record "Unarmed and Dangerous". From that moment on, MC Hughie Babe started working with DJ Rob at Coolman records, both recording and performing live all over Europe at major hardcore and gabber parties. The biggest Hardcore hit Hughie Babe and Rob had was their true hardcore anthem "Lords of the Hardschool" , which they recorded together with DJ Paul Elstak. In the mid 1990's Hughie Babe was invited by Klubbheads to record rap lyrics for their release "discohoping" and the co-operation was such a succes that Hughie Babe recorded every rap in every Klubbheads release untill now, also doing vocalson for Klubbheads productions such as DJ BoozyWoozy and Al Capuccino-welcome to Ibiza. In 2004, while still working with Klubbheads, Hughie Babe started recording with DJ Pulsedriver, one of the most popular DJ's and producers in Europe. Together, they recorded the single "Beat Bangs" and the follow up "Slammin", both tracks were top 10 in the German Dance charts and were licensed to dozens of countries around the globe. MC Hughie Babe's voice is probably one of the most recognizable in the dance music scene. Because he never recorded a solo single or 12" after "Unarmed and Dangerous" he is also one of the most unknown faces in the dance music industry. An odd situation, since his vocals were dominant in some of the biggest club hits in the 1990's.

Each band member brings his or her own unique talent and contributes equally to the compositions. The melodious sounds (bass, keyboards, voice or guitar) are born and harmonised during "jamming" sessions. Olen'K, an inspired band with very wide influences, generates a sound that is not easy to classify. The music is at times enigmatic and ethereal, even mystical, and at other times pulsating to faster rhythms, sometimes with a touch of folk. The versatility of each band member gives Olen'K an openness and infinite creativity which the band loves to share with its audience, whether it be on stage at a rock festival or in a church.

Link | 0 | 3 | Armando Piazza | Armando Piazza | Napoli | Armando Piazza | Armando Piazza was a singer-songwriter from Naples and released these albums with curious titles on the local B.B.B. label (that also released the Showmen 2 album), selling them by himself in concerts and through magazines. The albums contained acid-psych ballads, all English-sung and mainly based on acoustic guitar but sometime with good use of electric instruments, they're also notable for the help of American musician Shawn Phillips (who lived in Naples for some years) on guitar and bass. A welcome reissue by Akarma couples both albums on a single C Both albums are rare to find, especially the first, and have probably been released in very small quantity by the small B.B.B. label. The albums were poorly distributed in shops and were privately sold at the time by Piazza through Ciao 2001 and other magazines. An odd addition concerns the cassette tape version of Suàn (cat.no. NL PP 22), issued with two different covers and that contains che omits the track I met a woman. The second edition is credited to Shawn Phillips and Armando Piazza, and was probably issued later, when Phillips was well known in Italy. The cover of Suan exists in two versions, the first with the 4 page insert having a white background, the other (apparently the rarest one) with lyrics in white type on black background on a 2-sided insert. The later version also has a difference in the outer cover, where the "moustache" logo and the catalogue number (which are located on the front in the version with the white inner) are on the back cover here. Suàn was reissued on vinyl for the first time in 2008 by the greek label Missing Vinyl (cat.no.MV002), in a nice limited pressing faithfully reproducing the original cover and including the lyric booklet (with white background). Second album Naus (subtitled Ars mensuralis) had a laminated single cover. The catalogue number on both cover and label is BSLB 0011, but on the matrix is BSBL 0011. The difficult numbering system adopted by B.B.B. on their records had even confused them! No counterfeits exist.

The Passage scorched the earth by being the first female fronted death metal album in Portugal, and one of the few worldwide. Unfortunately the elements were not primed and didn’t congregate. A long hiatus came along. After 7 years all the stars aligned and augured a dusk of a new era with the forging of a new record. Neoplasmah was brought back to live stronger than ever. The thing that brought these young and talented musicians together is a passion to find common ground between the neighbouring countries of Poland and the Ukraine on a cultural as well as musical level. Their common history and traditions are stored in original, and full of charm, melodies. These melodies include Christmas carols and pastorals, some of them almost completely forgotten, living only in the memories of the inhabitants of small villages in the Eastern Borderlands (Kresy). The band have endeavoured to introduce the music derived from their common Slavic roots. With a hypnotic combination of jazz, acoustic sounds and harmonies the band have made a return to the richness of old traditions and the heritage of their homes.

Inspired by the early industrial music of Skinny Puppy, Front 242, Frontline Assembly, DAF and Nitzerebb among others. His DJ sets are an educational experience as much as they are entertaining, typically spanning genres and years. Dan’s sets are described as a mix up of Techno, Industrial, and EBM, deep, grooving and dark. For the last few years Dan Physics has been focusing increasing effort into studio production. Starting out at a young age of 4 learning to play Guitar and Piano, it was a logical step for him to begin writing electronic music. His accomplishments in that realm have been and continue to be well received, with releases on cult underground New York labels Hidden Agenda and Remains, as well as internationally on Crème Organization. In 2007, He joined forces with Nimitz of Tensionworks records in Brasil, to re-organize the label and continue to develop the label as a vehicle for electronic music. Dan Physics continues to work on a variety of different projects, from engineering, production and remixes many of which to be made known to the world soon!

Along with drummer Warren Hall who previously played with The Drones and bass player Stu Loasby DATURA4 have been steadily building a reputation in their hometown with their live performances. With a healthy nod to Early ’70’s Australian Psych/Blues/Boogie from the likes of Buffalo, Coloured Balls, The Aztecs and latter era Masters Apprentices, “Demon Blues” represents Mariani & Hitchcock’s love of hard hitting bell-bottom blues. The psychedelic cover art is by Joshua Marc Levy/Asheville Art Family.

Link | 2 | 1 | The Punk Rods | The Punk Rods | Cleveland | The Punk Rods | A American horror-rock band from Cleveland, Ohio. The band was a side-project of several other area bands and active only in the fall of each year, capitalizing on the horror aspect of their image and lyrical content. Musically, the band sought to combine the Misfits with Motley Crue, but also sprinkled in other influences such as 50's rock, surf rock and big band swing jazz. Originally formed as The Glampyres and featuring a different vocalist, the band recorded, (but did not release), an un-named four-song demo. After firing their vocalist and deciding to change their name, the band recruited vocalist Eddie Holstein, aka E.C. Gaines, and re-recorded the vocals to their demo. It saw release in 2005 entitled as The Panic Broadcast. The band followed it up in 2007 with the release of their only full-length release, Murder Ride. Guitarist Evil Ed quit shortly after the release of the full-length and was replaced by Elliot Rosen of The Fullmoon Renegades. A falling out between the band and vocalist E.C. Gaines lead to several years of inactivity but the band was eventually able to repair the breach and began to play live again and began to discuss writing material for a new recording when E.C. passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in 2014. Upon his passing, the group decided to disband.
Link | 2 | 1 | Colm Mac Con Iomaire | Colm Mac Con Iomaire | Ireland | Colm Mac Con Iomaire | Almost twenty years ago Colm Mac Con Iomaire was struggling to describe his early attempts at composition and made a distinction between “tunes’ and “music”. Much of his playing life up to that point had been in the Irish traditional world of “tunes” effectively the dance music which makes up much but by no means all of the instrumental repertoire in Irish traditional music. His father’s people came from the Conamara Gaeltacht and Colm’s family were Irish speakers living in Dublin. The Irish language sean nós unaccompanied singing tradition with its storehouse of ancient and beautiful airs was embedded early on in his musical consciousness. On his mother’s side there was classical instrumental music on the violin and piano and Colm learned to play as a very young child. It was a musical home, one visited by musicians and singers…. a place of naturally occurring opposites …Irish and English, rural and urban, classical and traditional, old and new.

I was born in December 1953 on St. Helena's Island, one of the Sea Islands of South Carolina. I've been playing the guitar since I was three. When I turned five, I started gigging in the Pentecostal church of my family. You can hear some of that gospel flavor in my playing, a lot of traditional African music mixed with the field and spiritual music. A lot of my people came out of the Gullah tradition, with roots in Western Africa, hard work and a hard life on the plantations, and worship in praise houses. I was featured entertainer for Lowcountry Sing on Channel 5, Charleston SC, for three years, appearing with the Ferguson Sisters, an outstanding gospel trio.

Yes there’s a bit of surf-rock going on in there, there’s a fair bit of doom & drone, and there’s a great sense of speed. These Argentinian reverb merchants have taken some quite diverse elements and put them together in a quite refreshing way.
