Cintas de cassette, teclados con limitadísimos bancos de sonidos no editables y grabación analógica sin cuantización. Parece que hablamos de un universo vintage arcaico, pero solo hay que remontarse a los primeros años de la década de los 90 para situarnos en ese escenario. En él Paco Butrón (Chiclana de la Frontera, 1976) recurría a la limitada tecnología musical accesible para encadenar sus primeras secuencias a melodías y bases rítmicas con un Yamaha EX7 como catalizador de ideas. Aunó esfuerzos con José Miguel Abollado para formar Visión Líquida, invento sonoro que tras varios trabajos y coincidiendo con la accesibilidad a la informática musical acabó mutando en Complexdrive, acrónimo de los pseudónimos artísticos de ambos: Complexystems y Cyborgdrive. Paralelamente Cyborgdrive despacha una buena tanda de discos en solitario que arranca con “Visions” en 1996 y que encontraría en el álbum “Revenge And Sequence” de 2007 una cota importante a nivel de producción. La grabación de dicho trabajo representa un enorme esfuerzo en la adquisición de instrumental musical y de estudio de los nuevos secuenciadores de grabación digital. Esta búsqueda de las mejoras sonoras queda reflejada en sus siguientes trabajos, “Story Of Sophye” (2008) y muy especialmente en “Winter Blaze” (2010). En este último el título se convirtió en una invocación a los Elementos, y un temporal de lluvia e inundaciones que azotó el litoral gaditano llegó a colarse en el estudio de Cyborgdrive. De alguna manera el frío y astuto invierno participó en la grabación del disco… aunque de manera poco grata. El artista continúa componiendo, grabando y publicando de manera completamente autónoma diversos singles. Participa en recopilatorios de diversas plataformas musicales, entre ellas la web oficial española de Jean Michel Jarre, Fairlight Jarre, además actuando en directo en varios de sus encuentros anuales en Cádiz, Benicarló, Sevilla y Tenerife. Los últimos años han sido de una actividad frenética. Cyborgdrive inicia su expansión en países como Francia y Alemania, donde históricamente la Música Electrónica está íntimamente arraigada, realizando remezclas para artistas internacionales que son publicadas en sellos de referencia en el género como Boredom. Para ellos graba una versión del tema del francés Étienne Daho “San Antonio de la Luna”, cantada en castellano, que es reclutada para el álbum tributo “Pistes Noires”. Pero esta hiperactividad se debe especialmente gracias al encuentro entre Cyborgdrive y Amuza, la joven productora creada en Málaga por un grupo de entusiastas de la Música. Su participación en la compilación de nuevos grupos electrónicos “Synthetic Generation” (2014) marcó la adhesión inquebrantable del músico al sello discográfico. Cyborgdrive recibe el encargo de producir a diversos artistas, así como masterizar los lanzamientos de Amuza. La culminación de esta unión llega con “Majestic Land”, un pepinazo electrónico que supera las expectativas albergadas hasta ahora únicamente en los mastodontes del género. Con cada nueva pieza compuesta más se ampliaba el horizonte sonoro de una obra en gestación. Voces, coros para envolver electrizantes secuencias y potentes bajos y percusiones. Impresionante capacidad para asimilar ritmos y sonoridades dispares y una permeabilidad abrumadora ante la variedad de subgéneros es la que demuestra Cyborgdrive con “Majestic Land”. | |

From 1710 to 1727 he served as ‘Suonator di Violino, e Componitore di Musica’ to Prince Michelangelo Caetani. He also succeeded Corelli as director of the concertino at San Luigi dei Francesi, from 1710 to 1741. Though during his lifetime overshadowed by the likes of Corelli, Vivaldi, and Locatelli, his contribution to Italian baroque music is noteworthy, and many of his works were published throughout Europe. | |

In the last twenty years, this band creates the sound files, rustles, shades of noise with moments of silence, sometimes amplified whisper sometimes wolf howl. Instrument range reaches from traditional grinders and jackhammers through the ambient sound of dripping water and clinking glasses to a surprising use of conventional instruments such as acoustic guitar or flute. The current work in the new media category was foreshadowed by an occasional manipulation with fragments of known melodies recycled according to actual aesthetic needs. In fact, every member of „Totalitný Režim” operates in terms of totally free improvisation, which makes up the uniqueness of each moment on the way to balance or decay. This creative process fits well with Jagelsson’s text snippets that include various and sometimes unexpected fields of human knowledge – to be precise: „Who neither lathes front nor mills groove!“ |

The band developed its unique style inspired by the rapidly growing electronic music scene of the 90s. The first works of Nu Park’s members appeared in compilations: “Dipol” and “Normal”, released by Domestic Lo Fi, an underground circle of electronic musicians in Istanbul. The band adopted the name “Nu Park” in 2006. With the inclusion of guitarist Ozan Erkan, the band received the Roxy Special Award at the 13th Roxy Music Days Contest with their first live performance. Following this success, Nu Park received the First Prize in the electronica category of Miller Music Factory in 2008. They produced music for contemporary artist Gül Kozacıoğlu’s performance in Brooklyn McKibbin Festival in 2009. In November 2010, Nu Park performed live at the Club to Club Electronic Music Festival organized in Torino. Nu Park is working with Remoov Records since January 2011. The band's performances are enriched by improvisations and theatrical shows. Nu Park takes its name from the park in which the duo spent their childhood. Nu Park represents the union of the new, the modern, the technological; with the emotional, the natural and the nude. In Nu Park’s music, electronic elements are used to enhance the emotional elements. Day by day, Nu Park is taking stronger steps in the electronic music scene and aims to present a unique performance to the audience. | |

From the age of 9 to the age of 11, he studied the violin and then turned to classical guitar and in particular the baroque and South American repertoire. In 1976 he founded a Progressive Rock band with Christophe Dutordoir and Dominic Sandford inspired by groups such as ELO, Yes but mostly Genesis. After Dominic's departure, the group became a duo, joined from time to time by other members such as drummers Carlos Seynave and Eric Brusselmans. The group made a few recordings ("The Vane and the Dell" recorded in 1978 at RTBF thanks to Claude Delacroix in exchange for jingles for Radio 21, "In the Dark" and "Underneath" in 1982 recorded at the studio Pyramide in Beersel), but they never performed live. From 1984 to 1992, Pascal Escoyez did not play, for professional reasons. In 1992, he started the group up again with Christophe Dutordoir for two years of new compositions. It was during this period that Pascal composed pieces such as "Everything we can" and "Another Day" and the beginnings of "Beslan" the solo from which at the time was referred to as "Factory". It was also during this period that Pascal began to collect synthesisers, guitars and effects that were to form the basis for his personal studio later on. Pascal developed an interest in in ethnic sounds and in all instruments, notably African and Indian, but also East European and Asian. Sampling was common at the time which encouraged the discovery of new sounds. In 1995 and 1996 Pascal worked with Dominic again when they founded Sphere Studio together in the suburbs of Brussels. When Dominic moved back to England for good, Pascal took over the studio that was then transferred to the current premises in the South West of France in the Dordogne region. (www.sphere-studio.com). During this period, Pascal gave a few classical guitar concerts mainly of the work of Villa-Lobos. From 1996 to 2005, the opening and refurbishment of the studio took up most of Pascal's time and it was only in July 2006 that he began working on his project with the production facilities he now had at his disposal. While he is French-speaking, this album is in English mainly to make it available to all but also because all his musical influences from the seventies and eighties are English for the most part (Peter Gabriel and Genesis, Tears for Fears, Sting, Duran Duran, Dead can Dance, Simple Minds,...). | |

She began composing at the age of nine and at fifteen she entered the Brno Conservatory. She graduated with an award-winning Piano Concerto that she conducted herself. In 1935 she moved to Prague and continued her musical education at the Prague Conservatory, attending the masterclasses of Vítězslav Novák (composition) and Václav Talich (conducting). In 1937 she received a scholarship to study in France, at the École Normale de Musique in Paris, and became a pupil of Charles Munch (1937-1939) and briefly also of Nadia Boulanger (spring 1940?). She also studied composition as a private student of Bohuslav Martinů (1937-1939) whose Harpsichord Concerto she conducted in Paris (1938). Her award-winning Military Sinfonietta, premiered in Prague in 1937 by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by the composer, opened the 1938 ISCM Festival in London. At this occasion, Kaprálová conducted the work with the BBC Orchestra. Following the German occupation of Czechoslovakia on 15 March 1939 Kaprálová decided to stay in exile in France. In April 1940, she married the writer Jiří Mucha. Only two months later her marriage and musical career were cut short by her tragic death in Montpellier, allegedly from miliary tuberculosis. | |

Although its sound has nothing to do with them, this new band born in Algeciras, Spain, is formed by members from bands such as Viaje a 800, Zoom, Buenamuerte Trío and ROLF. I doubt its sound can be compared to that of any other band from the Spanish music scene. Psychedelic, progressive, kraut, some hard rock hints… are the many ingredients of music that Mind! has known how to combine in its own musical melting pot. Obviously, its influences are sometimes noticeable: Hawkwind, Pink Floyd after Syd Barret’s first departure, and more edible kraut rock sounds. We can also relate them to contemporary bands such as Black Mountain or Wooden Shjips, which take on a similar approach to modernize sounds from past decades as Mind!’s members do. Like a cosmic watch machinery, Mind! is able to trap us with its enveloping music that projects an unmistakable feeling of taking off into the purest tradition of space rock from the seventies. Nevertheless, in this album, Mind! delivers 7 themes built taking into account the lesser of the details and in spite of its intention of transmitting a trip throughout vast astronomic spaces, we can attest that what lies beneath all of it is the simplicity of their proposal away from ramblings or mere improvisation. Each sound, although sometimes it may seem hectic, has its own place: Vocals that seem to land from high up, an effective rhythmic ground and the combination of clear sounds through the proper use of the keyboard, effects and a clear sounding electric guitar that falls far from excessive distortion, but above all, a great collective imagination to articulate all these elements.
