We have to choose between modernism and posttextual narrative. Therefore, `powerful communication’ implies that narrativity has intrinsic meaning, given that culture is distinct from language. The law is part of the rubicon of culture, but several situationisms concerning the collapse of capitalist class may be discovered.

Link | 1 | 1 | Berkstroem | Berkstroem | Germany | Berkstroem | Marcus Schmahl In 1974 Marcus Schmahl, also known by its chill out, downbeat & electronica Projects Guardner and Rauschfaktor, was born in Mainz, Germany. He began with the age of 14 as a "computer and electronic freak" to use his computer hardware as a musical instrument and to produce first electronic tracks with it - in addition to his classical guitar training. Marcus has developed his own way to write music and to perform it live or as a DJ. Thus the foundation was laid to form his own production company, which also was influenced by video production activity (including the television series "Flowmotion" and "Hessenbilder", which run as night series of the Hessischer Rundfunk "hr" in germany) and photography. With his albums for the project Guardner he led the German chill out charts for months and he was hired as a remixer for major music projects. Today his music catalog is regularly used by TV producers / directors. In 2000, Marcus produced his first film score for a TV series of the ARD (Germany) with a team. Berkstroem was found in 2008 because the new music layouts dindn't fit to Marcus' other projects. The project will approach a greater audience and is also a musical evolution of Marcus Schmahl. He will work with many guest musicians and producers on the forthcoming Berkstroem album to have as many musical styles and working methods combined to a musical production.

This is something many bands don't manage to get together, but FUCK YOU AND DIE succeed effortlessly. Fans of Necrophagist and Obscura should secure their place in the front row early, because this band, hailing from Baden-Württemberg, is ready to ascend into the genre's premier league. Their second album 'Elements Of Instability' always finds a balance between technical proficiency and killing brutality, so it doesn't turn into a mere presentation of the band's technical chops. It seems like FUCK YOU AND DIE always had the live setting in mind when they wrote the songs, because they are perfect for going crazy in the pit, but you can also spend your time staring at the guitarists in envy. Check them out! |

--Tobias (Symphonies of Destruction - Coloradio.org)

In 2008, French musician Bruno Blum produced an album featuring several of the best known musicians and singers in the country, including Faytinga, Aron Berhe and Temasgen Yared. Following the release of 'Eritrea's Got Soul' in October of 2010, the group headlined two shows in Asmara — including a triumphant showcase in the local opera house, featuring a dozen legendary singers united onstage for the first time — and disbanded. Many of its key players, including drummer Omar Hola, bass and keyboard player Noah Hailemelekot, percussionist Ali Hassen and tenor sax player Tekle Negassi soon fled the country as part of the mass exodus Eritrea was then enduring.

Link | 1 | 1 | Marta Collica | Marta Collica | Marta Collica | Marta is an italian songwriter, singer and strumentist who, in the last ten years, has been touring and collaborating with many international musicians and songwriters - she began singing with the Australian-Italian group Micevice, and since 2004 key member of John Parish band (PJ Harvey, Eels, Tracy Chapman, etc.). She's also well known for her collaboration with the Australian songwriter Hugo Race in their outfit Sepiatone (Desvelos IT, Minty Fresh rec. Usa), for touring as keyboard player and vocalist in the latest band formation of Hugo's True Spirit. Now based in Berlin she wrote and releases her new solo album “About Anything” with Solaris Empire and Desvelos Record, produced here together with Dugald Jayes, and in Bristol with John Parish. Beside singing, Marta plays piano, rhodes, hammond, synth, guitar, percussions - she likes to explore a wide range of electronic and analogic sounds; her original style combines minimal arrangements and a "unique kind of playing, stumbling unpredictably between delicacy and distortion" Critics used comparison as such Françoise Hardy, Hope Sandoval, Dusty Springfield to describe the unmistakable character of her voice which with its "indifferent intensity, evokes the slightly disquieting atmosphere of a road movie in slow motion" commenting on the delicate soul and psychedelic tangents of her songs. Her more recent collaborations as vocalist are on recordings by the jazz ambient duo The Dining Rooms, on the upcoming Lilium aka Pascal Humbert's album (Woven Hand). In Berlin at the moment she is collaborating with the electronic artist Sebastian Meissner (Klimek).

Link | 1 | 1 | Hoist The Colours | Hoist The Colours | Hoist The Colours | Hoist The Colours are four friends with a combined passion for stupid jokes and 90’s punk rock. They have various backgrounds such as punk, metal and even grindcore, but they discovered a mutual passion for 90’s punk rock and wondered where their heroes had gone. So they decided to team up and battle alongside each other to show the world that there is still room for a decent punk rock show! In 2012 Hoist The Colours released their first demo “Bud and the Barstool”. The four tracks on the demo were recorded DIY style at the cost of dedicated blood, sweat and a lot of Chinese food. A year later the band put out “4 A.M. Breakfast”, the second demo in the line of fast, melodic skatepunk. In this period the band got in touch with the UK punk rock band ASBO Peepshow. The two bands decided to join forces and record a split CD. Don’t let Hoist The Colours’ fat bellies fool you. These guys have all the necessary experience and energy to set up a great punk rock show and get you hooked for the night! It’s time to Hoist the Colours!
