Their sound is a dark dreamscape of electro pop with accents of harmonic vocal melodies and bending bass riffs. Cult Club was formed shortly after Sally and László realized that they could no longer spend their days draped over the couch drinking Pálinka and listening to "Axel F" on repeat. They then decided to put to use their god's gift of talent they so uniquely acquired, and formed Cult Club. Their interest in melodic oldies songs and electro pop singles became the driving influence for their musical collaboration. They wanted to create a sound that made the people as mad and wild on the dance floor just as it did for the neighbours who couldn't stand listening to Sally and László s music blaring in the apartment complex. Having a mirrored background in the arts, design, film and performance world, Sally and László decided to create a collaborative project that combined their musical and artistic backgrounds into one. Their following meetings would see the two jamming and not long after, writing original music, which they continued to do over the next few years. In 1997, the band included Patrick Ols as bassist/vocalist. Soon they released a 6 song EP entitled Lethargy. Delusive Dream gathers a buzz around its name within Northeast Ohio and elsewhere, as they continue to play local clubs and clubs out of state. By word of mouth and with a little help from the web, they would come to find that they were developing a fan base not only in the states, but abroad. n 2001, second guitarist Bo Mroczkowski was added to the line-up. The band had slowed down over the months prior to his joining and they were now eager to play more live shows as well as do more practicing and writing. However, Ols had grown disillusioned with the lack of response from the music scene to push Delusive Dream out of an opening slot band to a constant headliner. As a result, Pat had started playing second guitar with the band Gatlin and communication between Ols and Delusive Dream became increasingly difficult. Eventually, Ols and Delusive Dream parted ways. The split came as a relief to both parties as they were now able to focus exclusively on their respective paths. The band was having difficulty finding replacements for the bass and vocal voids and went through several line-up changes within a short period of time. In 2002, the band asked friend and bassist Hank Leibold to fill the bass spot. Delusive Dream, having played shows with Hank before, were confident they had found the bass player they needed. In early 2009, new lead guitarist Sean Kelleher entered the fold, forming the band’s strongest line up to date. With the inclusion of a new member, the band's music evolved to a more old school thrash metal sound. Another demo featuring new material was then recorded, receiving excellent feedback from the metal community. The band continued to break new ground in 2010 performing in Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong with some of Australia's most aggressive bands such as Dark Order, Rampant, Toecutter and Destend just to name a few. They also supported In Malice's Wake and Desecrator on their Australian tour in early 2011. In March 2011, work began on Randomorder's debut album with renowned Australian heavy metal musician and producer, Joe Haley (Psycroptic), handling the recording and production duties. In September 2011, Randomorder's debut album titled THE FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE was released independently. Histoire banale à la base, on est en 2006 à Nancy! 3 personnes qui se croisent d’ici et là dans des concerts depuis quelques années se disent pourquoi pas essayer de tenter un groupe de zik ensemble! 2 jouant déjà dans des groupes plutôt axés grind, power violence (blockheads et richard durn) et le dernier des trois larons sans groupe depuis quelques temps, ils se mettent d’accord sur un projet de hardcore plutôt orienté old school. Rejoint rapidement par un quatrième complice originaire de tours, la formation pendant les 4 premiers mois du groupe sera Raph (guitare), Julien (batterie ), Romain (basse) et Thierry (au chant) Les 2 premiers concerts arrivent rapidement autour d’un set très court mais avec des compos bien à l’ancienne! Romain quittant nancy, il sera remplacé par Thierry (et oui 2 dans le même groupe!!) qui prendra la guitare et Raph reprendra la basse! Thierry est passé par 8PM, by my fists et strong as ten… mais c’est surtout son gout immodéré pour le metal qui allait très vite donner une nouvelle couleur à la zik du groupe! Plus très motivé pour jouer du old school basic le groupe s’oriente du coup de plus en plus vers un mélange de thrash punk metallique! L’aventure repart avec un nouveau set, ne gardant que quelques compos de l’ancien ! Les concerts recommencent aussi tout doucement . Les textes sont assez thématiques et traitent en majorité de la construction des genres, du virilisme, …mais aussi de faits divers de société complétement absurdes et effrayant (de misère humaine )…cherchant aussi à se moquer de clichés du hardcore ou des musiques extrèmes en générales! Après 1 an sous cette formation, ils enregistrent ce cd dont le titre est foutage de gueule sur certains groupes de thrash des anneés 80 dont le discours politique frolait la provo de merde souvent ambigue et sur ses clichés faciles (bières , zombies…). Après une mini tournée en mars 2008, le groupe splitte. | ||

August Wells' debut album 'A Living and a Dying Game' was released in August 2014, the band joined forces with Irish Independent label 'Forever In Financial Arrears' (FIFA Records) in early 2015 and to date have released two singles on the label. 'Here In the Wild' was released in April of 2015. ‘Here in the Wild’ is a sumptuous piece of music by Ken Griffin (Rollerskate Skinny,Kid Silver and Favourite Sons), and New York pianist John Rauchenberger, with their new band August Wells. A thoughtful, piano and string-drenched track bears the wistful hallmarks of songwriters whose place in a weary world is tempered by the acceptance of some of its fateful twists. Nonetheless, somewhere amidst the hinterland between shape and void, dream and waking, it would appear that some form of transformative process has indeed occurred over the course of the nineteen minutes of their debut EP on Rocket Recordings. Casting a heady and intoxicating spell of nocturnal atmosphere and drone-based abandon, these four tracks set out a shamanic mission both fresh and feral. Whilst Capra Informis may share some stylistic touches with their main protagonist’s regular band, they also boast a markedly darker approach - the mesmerising percussive onslaught may be present and correct, yet the psychic landscapes and deviant monomania of these four raven-hued trips renders them imposing in their Dionysian debauchery. Moreover, while the one-chord guitar-driven inferno of ‘Womb Of The Wild’ finds kindred spirits in the nihilistic, spiritually-driven like of Dead Skeletons and early Skullflower, ‘Cold and’ sees glacial synths and garage-birthed organ take the lead on a cinematic twilight voyage not unlike a Kenneth Anger filmscore’s depiction of an ayahuasca ritual. Throughout, however, the potency and persuasive powers of Capra Informis’ approach cannot be called into question - within these whispered incantations and mantric arrangements lurk dark forces and strange undertakings untold. Yet it remains a rare pleasure to bear witness to this rich collision of fiery intent and fearless third-eye vision. Far from the shadow of their ringleader’s past work. Capra Informis are staking their claim as chimerical warriors with manifold powers, and this four-track sermon marks only the first of their forays into the unknown that promise rich rewards for the far-gone and the intrepid alike. |
