Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 22 | Mr. B. Krishnappa | Bidaram Krishnappa | Bidaram Krishnappa (1866–1931) was a musician and composer of Carnatic Indian music in the court of King Chamaraja Wodeyar IX (1862–1894) and King Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV (1884–1940) of the Kingdom of Mysore. Bidaram Krishnappa was a Konkani-speaking Gowda Saraswath Brahmin and a native of Nandalike in modern Udupi district, Karnataka. When he was a boy he had a chance encounter with a rich businessman who loved music. This happened when hungry Krishnappa, who came from a poor family, was singing a devotional song (devaranama) in a local temple. Impressed with his voice, the merchant sponsored Krishnappa to train under the guidance of a musician called Ramaswamy. He later came under the influence of Tammayya and Veena Sheshanna. Bidaram Krishnappa is credited with having popularised the singing of Kannada devaranama on stage. He adapted certain concepts of Hindustani music into his Carnatic compositions. For his scholarship in music, he earned the titles "Shudda Swaracharya", "Pallavi Krishnappa" and "Gana Visharada". One of his disciples, T. Chowdiah, went on to become a music legend. Krishnappa was most famous for writing and rendering devaranama and kirtans. |

John L. Branham was assigned there, he found no choir that could sing the exciting contemporary gospel music he'd grown accustomed to in his native Chicago. His choice of J. Earle Hines as choir director and Gwendolyn Cooper-Lightner as pianist was inspired. Within months, The Echoes of Eden Choir had grown to more than 100 voices. The rapid growth was, in part, due to the choir landing weekly radio broadcasts on KFWB (a Warner Bros. station which reached 17 states). Remembered Cooper-Lightner, "People came from everywhere. We had people [celebrities] like Hattie McDaniels, Louise Beaver, Joe Louis. Nat King Cole was a friend of Rev. Branham."

Following a project that brought him to Saint Barthélemy, Alexandre decided to unpack his bags and make the island his permanent home, as the perfect launching pad for his magazine and to develop his work as a photographer. His independent nature quickly led him to inaugurate a new definition of artistic fashion photography: nonchalant and witty. Discrete but incredibly present, he infuses his work with a distinct identity. He will add an elegant frivolity, in a language that is both personal and contemporary, to your projects as well.

| Search | Add | 21 | I Canterini Vecchia Sturla | I Canterini Di Sturla - Vecchia Sturla | The Genoese singing team was born on board the ancient ships of the Republic of San Giorgio (from about 1500). Its constitution is explained by the fact that on a ship it was possible to find a tenor, sometimes two and thus a sailor or two who had baritone voices. The basis of this improvised chorus was the more common bass voices. There were no female voices, but it was replaced by some hub or some very young sailor who sang falsetto and who was called contralto. Here is the Genoese singing team formed: a contralto, a tenor, one or two baritones and seven or eight basses. Vecchia Sturla is one of those teams, the best known and by far the best. To understand and taste its character and style, we must not forget that it is made up of authentic workers, unaware of music, who sing by ear, learning their parts by heart and relying solely on their innate musical instinct. In his songs Vecchia Sturla almost improvise; and the inevitable imperfections of execution, instead of diminishing interest, increase it. Who listens and he has to have the feeling to hear the people sing who has not studied music, but that music is in his blood. Who does not know what counterpoint and harmony is, tonic and dominant, fourth or fifth jump, but which simply and naively expresses that deep vein of singing that is proper to the Italian soul. |

| Search | Add | 21 | Paul Weingardt | Paul H. Weingardt was a native Colorado accordionist born of Volga-German immigrant parents in Sterling on September 24, 1915. Both of his parents were born in the area along the Volga river where Russian Empress Catherine the Great had invited Germans to immigrate in the mid-late 18th century. A century later many of them came to America, settling in (among other places) northeastern Colorado and the adjacent western Nebraska panhandle, and working in the sugar beet industry. Paul’s parents, the Weingardt and the Appelhans families, came to Sterling, while his future wife’s family, the Klugs, stopped in Julesburg, 50 miles up the recently completed Union Pacific Railroad line near the Nebraska border. Many of the musicians who played with Paul were also from Volga-German immigrant families, by the name of Schneider, Deines, Sewald and Walters. During the 1940s and 50s, Paul joined his brothers Frank and Alex, performing as the “Alpine Boys” or the “Alpine Dutch Hop Boys,” along with hammered dulcimer (tsimbal) players Palmer Deines or Henry Schneider, reedman Jake Walters and horn man V. A. Hartman. Later, Paul was joined by his nephews, Leroy Weingardt and Paul E. Weingardt, both of whom taught music with him at the “Alpine School of Accordion Champions.” Henry Schneider’s younger brother Alex also performed with the Weingardts, and Henry and Alex performed together as the “Schneider Brothers.” In 1948, the Cooper Music and Appliance Center of Fort Collins advertised five 78 rpm records as new releases by the Weingardt Brothers and Palmer Deines, a hammered dulcimer player. The label was “C.R.S.” with the discs numbered 102 through 106. These recordings appear to have been reissued in the early 1950s on Frontier, a Denver label that issued additional releases by Weingardt, as well as by other musicians. Paul also issued material on his own “Alpine” label. Tragically, Paul and Anna Weingardt, along with Henry and Frieda Schneider, died in a car crash in Wyoming, returning to Denver from a performance at the Scottsbluff/Gering VFW Hall in Nebraska. Paul and Anna’s eleven-year-old son, Kenneth, was injured but survived. Paul was aged 49 and Anna 47. | |

| Search | Add | 21 | Herb Ryals | A native of Georgia, and being raised in the deep south, Herb was influenced by a broad range of singers and musicians (including big band, country, blues, rock & roll and more). His first performance was at the age of 3 where he sang “God Bless America” at a cantata in Albany, Georgia. He taught himself to play piano and saxophone while still a teenager and was playing professionally by the age of 18. At 20, he landed his first recording contract with a newly-formed record label in Memphis, TN known as Pepper Records. He recorded a remake of the standard “Heart And Soul”, which was successful enough to send him on tour with artists Frankie Avalon, Johnny Horton, Chuck Berry, Ferlin Huskey and many others. Herb worked as a singer, songwriter and musician in Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, New Orleans and New York. He recorded “The Luckiest Guy” and “Suzanne” (with Jerry Willis) on Dot Records in 1961 (both songs which had considerable success in Europe). In 1968, Herb recorded “Like The Falling Rain” released on RCA Victor and “Goodbye Maria” was recorded in the early 70′s (released on Atco Records). When Elvis was in Germany, Herb played live with Elvis’ backing band members, Bill Black and Scotty Moore. Several of Herb’s songs were recorded by other artists, such as Arthur Alexander and Roy Hamilton. Herb has worked with top producers, such as Noel Ball in Nashville (who produced hits “Sugar Shack”, “You Better Move On” and “Anna”). In New York, he worked with producer Paul Vance (who produced “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” and “Catch A Falling Star”). In the 1980′s, Herb recorded his version of Percy Sledge hit “Warm And Tender Love”, which placed him in Billboard magazine. Today, Herb has written many country and gospel rooted Christian songs, some of which are featured on his CD, “Lifeboat”. It is his aim to glorify God through his music and his hope that you will hear something in his music that brings you closer to the Lord. Herb is currently working on an instrumental gospel album featuring tenor sax and still plays regularly in his church. | |

| Search | Add | 21 | فاطمة الزحافة | Fatima Tahiri Bent Larbi | Fatima Zehafa was a Moroccan aita singer. She was born in 1938 in Settat, and started her career at an early age by joining small rural music bands at 13 years old. She started to become known in the Chaouia region as soon as 1955 with the return from exile of the late King Mohammed V and the various popular festivals that were organized at that time ; however her fame is to be attributed, in addition to the numerous songs engraved during her career, to the great success obtained by the song "Zaouia" released in 1965. The Zaouia (a Muslim religious building) to which the song refers is that of the town of Sidi Smaïl located not far from Settat. Though suffering from a serious disability, the singer did not spare and has been constantly performing during her life at celebrations, weddings and official events in her hometown. As has often happened to other Moroccan artists she died on 29 October 2000, in her home town, in a state of extreme poverty in complete denial of the great artistic contribution she has given to her country. |
