Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 15 | E23 | Brian K. Comerford | Best-known for being co-founder of Colorado's longest-running electronic music radio program, Electronic Air on KGNU-FM [kgnu.org], E23 (Brian K. Comerford) has established a sonic-art track record for being a "music worker". His output, as both a DJ and producer, adheres to what he identifies as "illclectronic", often equally informed by electronic dance styles as well as esoteric sound sculptures. Where Electronic Air has largely been an outlet for more conventional electronic dance music and sub-genres, E23's solo and collaborative audio productions have historically tended toward syncopated glitches, droning ambience and art house sound installations. His interest in electronic music began at an early age (the 1976 release of "Sequencer" by Synergy was highly influential, as was the 1968 recording of "Switched-On Bach" by Walter Carlos), and he procured his first synthesizer and electronic drum kit in 1983, coinciding with the standardization of MIDI technology. Beginning original electronic music compositions at the age of 12, he has continued to cultivate sounds primarily in the experimental and underground fringes of electronic music ever since. Citing Throbbing Gristle, Coil, and Psychic TV as major influences, his original works tend to veer between noise, atmospheric, and beat-infused, utilizing numerous samples. He was also a producer in the first wave of Internet Radio. Having co-founded RadioValve.com in the mid-1990s, E23 helped spread the evolution of electronic music and rave culture both on the Web and FM airwaves. He began DJing "Metamorphosis Radio" in 1989 on WPSA-FM at Paul Smith's College, New York, and continued FM broadcast in Texas during 1991-1993 where he also emerged as a club and rave DJ. Relocating to Colorado in 1993 while continuing that work, E23 also began producing a variety of radio programs at KGNU-FM the following year, as well as teaming with Pirate Sound System. The majority of that crew eventuated into the core production team that co-founded KGNU's Electronic Air in 1995, where E23 remained the sole original founding member for over two and a half decades. He additionally co-produces the leadership and technology podcast, >Lead.exe_, and periodically live streams on Twitch. E23 has performed across the state, the nation, and internationally as both a DJ and live producer. He archives many of his mixes on Mixcloud, and selected original tracks on Soundcloud and YouTube. He typically records under his E23 moniker, reserving an alias, Scat, for Hardcore Techno and Dark Ambient productions. Both individually and with long-time collaborator devslashnull, he has produced several collaborative works with lyricist/poet Chris Mosdell (YMO, among many others). He is a member of the "folktop" outfit, OVNI. |

| Search | Add | 15 | Crippling Self Doubt | Scott Dryman | This is the soundtrack to the never ending failure that is your shitty life. Part self-help for the helpless, part narcissistic sermons in “self-betterment”. This is a reflection of a poisoned sick society, and the music for its funeral. Crippling Self Doubt’s “The End Of My Rope” and “Beyond The End Of My Rope” is Scott Dryman’s expressive, personal journey through failed relationships, self-loathing, and his never ending failure, train wreck of a life. During the creation of both of these bodies of work, Scott suffered daily with feelings of rejection, personal loss, soul crushing depression, and felt inadequate in every way. Raw, honest, and emotionally draining the listener will be dragged to the bottom, and forced to see a reality few would be willing accept. After this….you can never go back. You will not be the person you were before. You will see…Crippling Self Doubt is inside of you…and it is inside of me…. |

| Search | Add | 15 | Thor Raymond | Thor Raymond Zetterstrøm | Thor Raymond Zetterstrøm, born in Stavanger 1919, died in 1982. Used the artist Thor Raymond. Norway's first cowboy singer, fully completed in 1952, had its greatest commercial success with the song "A letter with three loving words" along with Åse Wentzel; The song sold in 67,000 copies. A tendonitis in the left arm of the early 1960s put an end to the career. Thor Raymond went before the Second World War in the photo arch of the uncle who had a photo shop in Kongsgata in Stavanger. As a musician, Thor Raymond was autodidact (self-taught). He even comforted himself by singing simple shows with simple melodies. Thor Raymond started his musical runway as soloist and dance musician along with comrade Rasmus Dahl. He was also guest artist of the reviews that the two cousins Gilbert and Odd Kjell Helgeland set up in Haugesund, in 1947 and 1948. Thor Raymond's real breakthrough came in 1952. He dressed as a cowboy and launched his own songs "A Cheerful Cowboy Song" and "Yippi Ai". In a short period of time, 10,000 plates were sold. Then the songs came on track: "Old Black", "Buldrende Buffalo", "Banjo Bill from Arizona", "Cowboydansen," The lonely cowboy "," Cowboy farewell "and" Red River Valley ". In 1954 he heard the song "Vaya Con Dios" when he listened to Hit Parade on the AFN American Forces Network. Thor wrote Norwegian text and went to studio in Oslo together with Åse Wentzel. The Stavanger artist became Norway's most sought-after gramophone butterfly in a short period of time, and "Vaya Con Dios" is still such a tremendous melody, over fifty years later. The song was the start of a successful collaboration for the duo. In 1955, "A letter with three loving words" came, as with its 67,000 copies sold, became Thor Raymond's biggest commercial success. The melody was followed by several plots of land: "Today I've burned my love letters," "A little apartment", "In a small cafe", "My secret honeymoon," "I love your smile", "Loving, loving thoughts" "Midnight roll", "It's going to be very little" and "Send a greeting home". Several of the melodies were a permanent guest in the NRK Wish Concert for years. At this time Raymond and Wentzel competed with other famous artists such as Alf Prøysen, Kurt Foss and Reidar Bøe, The Monn Keys, Sisters Bjørklund and Jens Book-Jenssen. The 1950s was Thor Raymond's great decade as a record artist, but in the early 1960s his career ended when he received a tendonitis in the left arm. He then took up the thread as a photo consultant and traveled around the country to advise people on restoration and coloring of old photographs. During this time he lived in Oslo, and later moved to a small farm on Toten. After 15 years at Toten, he moved to Jelsa in Ryfylke where his son lived with family. Later he settled down on Sola and Klepp. In 1970 he participated in a radio show in Atlantic Hall, "Back to the 50's". With "Old Black" he finished the artist career with the last big stage show, with the same old voice, and the same simple guitar chords. |

| Search | Add | 15 | The Nied's Hotel Band | The Nied’s Hotel Band is a powerhouse recording and performing rock-n-roll band from Pittsburgh, PA. NHB delivers the hardworking, blue collar, muscle that has made Pittsburgh a legendary rock-n-roll city. The band includes some of the best-known and respected players in the region, including singer John Vento (who is, perhaps, the hardest-working front man around), guitarists Tim Hadley and Jim McCullough, plus keyboardist Fred Delu and sax man Ed Jonnet, who last joined forces in the 70’s as members of Pittsburgh’s most beloved rock/soul band – The Rhythm Kings. Newest members Frank DeCarolis (bass) and Bob Fetherlin (drums) complete a stellar Lineup. The band had its origins in 2003 when singer John Vento began a studio recording project that he titled “Nied’s Hotel” as a tribute to Jim Nied, proprietor of the landmark Pittsburgh tavern of the same name, which also was the source of inspiration for many of the songs. Vento, along with noted musician/producer Buddy Hall, began the process of bringing these new songs to life, coaxing amazing performances from an all-star roster of Pittsburgh musicians – Reb Beach, Kenny Blake, Pete Hewlett, B.E. Taylor, Norman Nardini, Tom Bellin, Joe Munroe, Scott Anderson and Jim Britton. But no one had more impact than John’s primary session drummer, Ron Beitle. As the original drummer for Wild Cherry (“Play That Funky Music”), Ron brought his considerable drumming talents and gold record experience to the “Nied’s Hotel” project, released on CD in 2004.The next release, 2007′s “The Way That You Roll,” was again recorded with session players, but Vento, along with drummer Beitle, decided it was time to start performing this material at live shows. The new release was credited to “John Vento and The Nied’s Hotel Band,” but the live band line-up changed frequently while John and Ron searched for the right chemistry between players. Along the way, some fine musicians became NHB alums, but none more important than singer/songwriter/guitarist Stephen Christopher, who left his mark by penning the songs “600 Under” and “Need A Lover,” which are still mainstays of the NHB live show. Then, in early 2009, Beitle recruited his life-long friend, Russ Oblinger (bass) to join the band. Russ had just returned to Pittsburgh after a long and successful career as one of Detroit’s best session players. With these two guys in place, NHB now had a tight and accomplished rhythm section. The band began to fine-tune their sound and develop more original material. Within a year or so, Tim Hadley, Fred Delu, Ed Jonnet, and Jim McCullough had all joined the band. With a consistent lineup and a killer new sound, the band went to work writing and arranging new original songs and creating a live show that reflected the band’s powerful personality. By May of 2011, NHB was ready to make a real rock-n-roll album. No more session players, just a well-rehearsed band entering the studio to play and record as one. Basic tracks were recorded live at Vento’s Corbriwood Studios in West Deer, PA, followed by post-production and mixing at Buddy Hall’s Beacon Hill Studio. The results were released in 2012 as an EP called “Side One”. Although pleased with the results, the band, having grown leaps and bounds as a performing, arranging and writing unit since their inception, wanted to try something a little different. The band enlisted Klint Macro, who had just moved back to the area after a successful career in the Los Angeles studio scene, to be their new engineer/producer. The band recorded all of their new material at Klint’s Cobblesound Recording Co., as well as re-arranging and re-mixing the “Side One” material. The finished full-length CD, “One Night Stand”, was released in July of 2014. Unfortunately, upon its completion, drummer Ron Beitle and bassist Russ Oblinger decided to leave the band for personal reasons, with Bob Fetherlin and Frank DeCarolis, both accomplished players in their own right, stepping in to fill the void. Like any great rock-n-roll band, NHB prides itself on delivering high-energy, entertaining, live shows. The band has made a major investment in its live production sound and lights, and is blessed to have one of the finest and most professional crews around. | |

| Search | Add | 15 | Михаил Эпельбаум | Эпельбаум Михаил Иосифович | 1894-1957 Jewish singer and actor. He studied at home teachers, then in a private gymnasium and at the Warsaw Musical Institute. From 1911 he took part in the ethnographic expedition in the towns of Podolia and Volhynia, where he recorded samples of Jewish folk music. He performed a lot in the composition of Jewish theatrical (mainly musical-dramatic) collectives: in 1910 and 1912, in the troupe I.Korik (1876-1947) and A.Vainstein, in 1911 - in the company of S.Genfer (1874-1913), in 1913 and 1915-16. - in the collective of L. Rappel, in 1914-15. - A.Fishzon, in 1916-17. - N. Lipovsky (1874-1928). After the October Revolution, he performed for some time at the Russian Theater of Musical Comedy and Drama under the direction of IP Brandesko (Moscow), and worked with the outstanding Jewish artist Clara Jung on several occasions. The singer's strong voice (dramatic baritone) allowed him to perform opera arias. At the invitation of the Kiev Opera House, he repeatedly and with unchanging success fulfilled the role of Demon in the opera of the same name by Anton Rubinstein. Epelbaum played in dramatic plays, especially the role of De Silva in "Uriel Acosta" by K. Gutskov. However, the greatest glory of the singer was the fulfillment of Jewish songs on the stage. Epelbaum's repertoire was unusually wide and included songs and ballads recorded by Epelbaum during ethnographic expeditions. In 1927-33 years. Epelbaum toured with a concert program in Europe, America, Africa; the performing skill of the "Jewish Chaliapin" was widely recognized in various circles. On his return from the tour, Epelbaum settled in Leningrad (see St. Petersburg), worked at the Theater of Musical Comedy, in the regional philharmonic society, in Lengosestrad, toured the cities of the Soviet Union; his work was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. In the years 1941-45. Epelbaum lived in evacuation in Siberia, worked in the Novosibirsk Concert Association; After the war he returned to Leningrad, performed with concerts of Jewish songs in various cities of the Soviet Union. In 1949, during the defeat of Jewish culture, he was arrested and sentenced to ten years in prison. His wife Rosalia Apelbaum was also convicted. Rehabilitated in 1954, returned to Leningrad. Although the honorary title of the artist was returned, the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR did not allow the Lenkontsert to accept Epelbaum for permanent work, allowing only speeches on a contractual basis. The repertoire of the Jewish song, with which the singer performed, was subjected to severe censorship; often he was not allowed to speak only with the "Jewish" program, prescribing in the first section of the concert to perform Russian songs. However, in the conditions of Khrushchev's "thaw", Epelbaum triumphantly traveled with Jewish songs to many cities of Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic States. |

A classically trained guitarist, he honed his craft under Tali Roth at the Juilliard School and later refined his compositional voice with David Tcimpidis and David T. Little at Mannes The New School for Music. Guided early on by media composer, producer, and pianist Gordon Minette, Bartosz gained invaluable experience in studio workflows and composing for film and television. In 2024, he scored the film Americano, directed by Deny Gallagher, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). At the heart of his creative process is All About That Studio, his personal workspace in New York, where Bartosz experiments with modular synthesis, vintage analog equipment, and innovative recording techniques. By combining timeless instrumentation with forward-thinking production and sound design, he crafts immersive soundscapes that bridge classical concert halls and modern production studios. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists from Poland, South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Blending classical traditions with modern electronics and intimate human performances, Bartosz’s sonic world reflects a broad palette of influences—Béla Bartók, Krzysztof Penderecki, Hans Zimmer, Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Jon Hopkins, and Radiohead, weaving together an intimate yet expansive musical terrain that pushes the boundaries of contemporary composition. Currently, Bartosz is preparing for the release of his debut album, <an>android/among.the<clouds>, scheduled for 2025. The album narrates the evolving story of “an android”, revealing the intricate interplay between humanity and technology with each composition. By bridging alternative, electronic, ambient, and orchestral textures, Bartosz sparks reflection on what it truly means to be human in an increasingly connected world. |

| Search | Add | 15 | Henschiens Trio | Trio formed in 1928 by Harald Henschien. Popular on both records and radio broadcasts. Made well over hundred gramophone recordings, both on their own as well as with refrain vocalists, including [a5543137]'s recording debut in 1934. The original lineup included, in addition to Henschien himself, Trygve Olai Johannessen (1894-1939) on violin, and Gunnar Søberg (1903-1954) on piano. Often filling in for Johannessen in the beginning was Eilert Fuglesang (1915-2009), although he quit after a couple years to focus on his studies. Violinist Karl Andreas Kristiansen (1892-1974) was used as a replacement during a tour in the mid-1930s. When Johannessen passed away, violinist Jacob Scharff (1908-1942) took his place as a member of the trio. Scharff was jewish, and during the nazi occupation of Norway he and most of his family were deported to Auschwitz. Upon arrival, the children and female members of the family were taken directly to the gas chambers. The adult male members died some time during December 1942-January 1943. Scharff's arrest and deportation also marked the end of the trio. The trio's regular vocalist and compere was [a1596189] (1900-1955). Often a guest performer with the trio was Henschien's protege, the accordion prodigy [a926478] (1919-1966), aka "Lille Erik". | |

Prof S S Manohar was a very close and childhood friend of Mr Bhaurao Kolhatkar, the first actor to play the role of Subhadra in first performance of Sangeet Saubhadra. Both of them were from Baroda. They used to do singing practice jointly in a Ganesh temple in Baroda. Prof S S Manohar was a teacher in the music school of Baroda state. After his retirement from this service of music teacher, he was called back by Maharani Chimnabaisaheb of Baroda to write the books of notations of marathi plays. He wrote atleast 4-5 books of these notations for plays Shakuntal, Saubhadra, Shapsambhram, Mruchakatik. During the same period he gave those 78 rpm records under the label Gramophone Concert Record. These notation books and these records are of much importance because they have no impact of Balgandharva style of natyasangit. |
| Search | Add | 15 | Patrick Upton | Patrick Neil Upton | After the demise of his band [a683759], lead vocalist and guitarist Pat Upton returned to his hometown of Geraldine, Alabama, putting his career on hold having been soured by the vagaries of the business end of rock & roll. After a period of inactivity he returned to music, starting with session work and eventually landing a permanent job as a backup vocalist in Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band. He stayed with Rick for several years (he can be heard on Nelson's Playing to Win album), until home and hearth beckoned again. He opened a local nightclub in Guntersville, Alabama, his club being the last place Nelson worked before flying out that night to his fiery death in a plane crash in 1985. Upton eased out of music, only to be called on again when he became a mainstay of the California-based oldies show 30 Years Of Rock'n'Roll in the late 1980s. Still more than capable of stealing the show with nothing more than his magnificent tenor voice, Pat Upton remained active, writing and recording new material and performing when he "damn well feels like it." Pat Upton passed away on July 27, 2016, at the age of 75. |

Aunt Bertha’s prayer as she began her ministry at C.B.H. was the same then as it is today: "Dear Lord, I do not ask That Thou should'st give me some high work of Thine, Some noble calling or some wondrous task. Give me a little hand to hold in mine; Give me a little child to point the way Over the strange, sweet path that leads to Thee. Give me a little voice to teach to pray; Give me two shining eyes Thy face to see. The only crown I ask. dear Lord, to wear Is this; That I may. teach a little child. Unbearable singer-songwriter is how Carlos Marrero, alias El Marido Ideal, describes himself. He likes to sing about heartbreak, cyber scams, insomnia, peculiar fetishes, and the Internet. Although he can sometimes be a bit much, like when he gives his songs endless titles or makes incessant references to pop culture, there is something endearing about what he says and how he says it. A mixture of contagious energy, wit, and fragility; a star who is too self-aware to succeed; a guy who plays the guitar and sings but doesn't want to be the guy who plays the guitar and sings. But, of course, a character far from being an ideal husband. |

In later years, Gayler taught at the Florida Southern College, serving as Professor of Organ and Dean of the School of Music. He was married to soprano singer Marie Fahnestock Stoddart (1878—1939). He established a prolific stage career, performing as a piano accompanist with renowned opera and concert singers and cited among the country's foremost Celesta players (also called a "bell-piano" and invented circa 1860s, it was a hammer-struck idiophone with a keyboard about the size of an upright piano). Gayler served as a conductor and musical director at several churches and ensembles in Brooklyn, New Jersey, Long Island, and Branford, Connecticut. He joined [l=Edison Laboratories] in late 1916, appearing in the November issue of Edison Phonograph Monthly with a short bio and his Celesta rendition of "Christmas Eve" released on Blue Amberol 4-minute cylinder. Gayler subsequently made records on other mediums, including the short-lived "Royal Purple Amberol" series (identical to Blue Amberol but dyed in the distinctive bright purple as a marketing ploy) and several generations of vertical-cut Diamond Discs, from the earlier embossed records to the latest printed "white paper" label editions. In 1919, Robert Gayler participated in the iconic series of Sergei Rachmaninoff's recordings, where he performed original works on "S. D. Lauter & Co" concert grand (one of the few models produced by Newark-based manufacturer founded by German-American piano maker Solomon David Lauter (1827—1885) in 1862). The label's founder and great inventor, Thomas Edison, was practically deaf, with only 20% hearing left in his right ear (after scarlet fever and head trauma in his teenage years). An engineer and technician first and foremost, Edison wasn't even a music lover and lacked sophistication, knowledge, or particular taste. Nevertheless, he insisted on personally vetting the catalog and approving each signee. In the 2007 biography "The Wizard of Menlo Park," its author Randall Stross gives a few examples of Edison's notoriously bad A&R decisions; he rejected most popular songs as "miserable dance and ragtime selections," claimed that jazz was "for the nuts" and compared one performance with "the desperate moan of dying animals," and discarded [a=The Metropolitan Opera] as "lacking tune." Unsurprisingly, Thomas Edison declared an awkward, tall Russian genius Rachmaninoff, with his unprecedented technique as a mere "pounder" in the first audition. Robert Gayler and the label staff had to beg and plee with Edison to reconsider his dismissive opinion before he finally agreed to sign a ten-record deal. |
