Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 15 Gooloo Doing doughnuts in the parking lot of noise rock, hardcore, metal, math rock, no wave, and suburban punk, mid-90s Chicago band gooloo were known for their spazzy live show punctuated by antisocial antics and an inability to tune their guitars with any urgency. Founded as an instrumental two-piece in 1994 by high school friends [a=Andrew Coon] ([a=Quatre Tête]) and [a=Mark Pearson (3)] ([a=Neptune (5)]), they soon tapped local weirdo guitar champ [a=A.C. Covalsky] ([a=Rom (14)]), who in turn brought in boy genius [a=Paul Medrano] ([a=Rom (14)]) on bass and the quartet was complete. They released a 7" and one full length CD entitled Monkey By Default, recorded by Chicago punk legend [a=Chuck Uchida], via the short-lived-but-influential Boston gnarler label [l=Super 8 Records]. Now available again digitally via [l=Wrong Way Archival Bureau], the Welcome To Atlantis/Cut It Out 7" has been remixed from 8 track cassette by Mark William Pearson and Monkey By Default has been remastered, along with bonus tracks, from the original DAT masters by [a=Scott Craggs] of [l=Old Colony Mastering]. While not well celebrated, gooloo maniacally sputtered down a path not many bands were taking at the time and possibly influenced someone somewhere. Maybe.

Search Add 15 INSHYSVIT Oleksandr Hladun Ukrainian musician Oleksandr Hladun, renowned for his primary project Dunaewsky69, ventures into new musical territory with the project INSHYSVIT. This project offers ambient and dark ambient with elements of melodic noise, reflected in its unpredictable sonic experiments. INSHYSVIT releases bring together archival recordings from the early stages of the musician's career and new compositions created today and recently, some of which are utilized during performances at international festivals and live shows. The main concept of the project lies in creating album series that function as serials, unfolding a single story through different musical stages. Each year represents a new narrative, and each month brings forth a new album, challenging oneself to evolve and build upon the creative process. It's not just a challenge for oneself but also a way to explore a wide spectrum of musical ideas deeply. Each story depicted on an album embodies philosophical and historical foundations, adding substance and depth to the musical material. Album covers are designed as parts of a unified artistic image, reflecting the unique inner world of each release.

He started to play guitar as a youth (his father was a guitarist) and in early 1980s he played for the Thunder Bolt band in Mandeville. Then he moved to Ocho Rios to find a job in the north coast hotels, and get hired as a guitarist. He formed his first band with [a=Leebert "Gibby" Morrison] from 809 Band, [a=Winston Anderson], a keyboard player and singer called Thatch Hat. That band was the resident band at Buccaneer Cascade for three years. Then they were the first band that played at Jamaica Grande Hotel and played for people like Totlin Jackson, Archie Lewis, ET Webster, AJ Brown and many more. Hewitt became a household name on the north coast as a top musician. He worked with great local and international musicians and producers, including Jack Ruby, UB40, and the Rolling Stones (the guitar on the picture was a gift from Keith Richards). After playing music for 25 years on the north coast, Hewitt moved back to Royal Flat and built the Culture Park complex that has an art gallery where Hewitt showcases his paintings, a restaurant and bar with a stage area, and a recording studio. He formed the Breeze Band, using some of the youths around the area, playing live band sessions.

Search Add 15 The Woodfalls Band Vale Road, Woodfalls, Salisbury. Wiltshire. SP5 2LT Nationally, brass band enthusiasts have heard of The Woodfalls Band, but most are intrigued to know where they are situated. Woodfalls is a small village 9 miles South of Salisbury and just one mile from the beautiful New Forest. There are under 1000 people living in the village, but the enthusiasm for music is traditionally very high and musical talent is in abundance. The original idea to form a band at Woodfalls was by Charles and George Mitchell in 1874 at the foundation ceremony of the new Methodist Chapel. Soon, with John Green and other young men from the village they met to form the band, in fact most were from three families, the Greens, Warners and Mitchells. In the early days the members met as often as they could in the house of William Green and in the summer at the request of Mr. Mark Warner in the local chapel. George and Charles Mitchell gave the first music instruction. At first they could only master hymns and eventually attached themselves to the local “Band of Hope” organization, playing hymns at their meetings and for local school treats. The earliest recorded event was in 1882, when Captain Foster, of the Salvation Army was improperly imprisoned and on his release was marched through Salisbury to a tremendous reception by the Woodfalls Temperance Band.

Search Add 15 Gottfried Silbermann Gottfried Silbermann (14 January 1683, Klein-Bobritzsch, Saxony — 4 August 1753, Dresden) was a German maker of organs, fortepianos, harpsichords, and clavichords, widely regarded among the most influential XVIII-century builders. Silbermann was considered the original piano inventor for many decades until more rigorous research assigned this honor to Italian maker [a=Bartolomeo Cristofori] (1655—1731). In 1702, nineteen-year-old Gottfried traveled to Strasbourg, an eastern French city near the German border, to study organology with his older brother, [a14510632] (1678—1734). He apprenticed for seven years, looking over the workshop while Andreas resided in Paris in 1704–06. After returning to Saxony in 1710, Gottfried opened his studio in Freiberg. By 1736, he earned a prestigious Kgl. Poln. und Churfürstl. Sächs. Hof-und Landorgelbauer title ("Royal Poland, Electoral Saxon & Country Court's organ builder"). Silbermann was a scrupulous engineer and worked persistently on improving and further developing the complex and high-precision Cristofori's mechanical action. A fascinating anecdote published in the 1785 journal Schlesische Provinzialblätter ("Silesian Provincial Papers") illustrated Gottfried's inventiveness in various aspects of his oeuvre — he would travel to small countryside churches and offer to replace their pews for free, as long as he got to keep the old benches (thus, collecting quality old wood, perfectly aged indoors for hundreds of years). Among Gottfried's notable inventions was Cembal d'amour, a clavichord variation with much longer strings struck at their mid-point (providing a more robust, longer-lasting tone with a broader range of loudness and softness). Silbermann sued [a13551523] (1697—1777), a German organ builder from Saxony, for stealing his design under a new "Cimbal Royal" name; in 1731, the court fined Hähnel, forcing him to pay considerable restitution to Silbermann. In a curious twist of fate, Gottfried was similarly caught red-handed in blatant copying of pantalon, a gut-strung variety of a concert dulcimer, less than five years earlier. In 1727, Pantaleon Hebenstreit (1668—1750), the "pantalon" inventor, brought legal action against Silbermann, as indicated by [a3116054] in the 2000 article "A Pantalonclavichord by C. Kintzing of Neuwied, 1763," prohibiting him from making such instruments. Pollens further speculated this could've influenced Gottfried to turn towards making pianos (essentially, hammered dulcimers). A few notable composers and musicians highly revered Silbermann's clavichords, including C.P.E. Bach, who even dedicated one of his 1781 works, Abschied von Meinem Silbermannischen Claviere, In Einem Rondo (H272 Wq66), to the cherished keyboard, and German organist C.F.D. Schubart (1739—1791). According to [a4662949], Silbermann had a relationship with [a=Johann Sebastian Bach] (as described in [a1644557]'s 2000 book "J. S. Bach: The Learned Musician"). In December 1736, Bach gave the inaugural concert at [l366635] on Silbermann's new organ and allegedly provided Gottfried with critical feedback on early piano prototypes, subsequently granting völlige Gutheißung, or "complete approval," on more advanced models. (A surviving May 1749 receipt indicates Bach helped to sell one of Gottfried's fortepianos.) Silbermann never married and bequeathed the business and considerable fortune to his nephew, Johann Daniel Silbermann (1717—1766), who joined Gottfried's workshop around 1752, shortly before his demise. Silbermann had several other prominent apprentices: ✦ [a14509123] (1712—1783), his nephew and later the teacher of [a13552285] (1728—1792), a notable maker who perfected the "Viennese action" found in the fortepianos played by Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven ✦ [a6841030] (1727—1799), Gottfried's third nephew, an outstanding instrument builder who kept improving his uncle's design and experimented with various fortepiano and clavichord constructions; according to some researchers, Johann Heinrich could've guided and inspired a prominent French-Austrian piano maker, Jean-Kilien Mercken (1743—1819) ✦ [a13552432] (1726—1790), regarded as the most prolific maker and evangelist of compact square pianos, and Americus Backers (ca.1740 — post 1778), one of the inventors of the "English action" (further modified and improved by [a8349843] (1752—1831) and [a1150843] (1803—1888) and still used in all grand pianos today). After immigrating to England, Zumpe and Backers spearheaded the so-called "Twelve Apostles," a group of British makers who actively propagated and popularized Christofori/Silbermann's fortepiano school

The album is mainly song based, built on keyboards and guitars, with Battiato singing in the best tracks Giorno d'estate and Nebbia, and seven of the 12 tracks on the LP composed by one Ed De Joy, who was, according to many sources, Franco Battiato himself. After a later single taken from the LP, Pirolli has stayed in the musical world as arranger and sound engineer. He is not to be confused with the similarly named drummer Roberto Genco that released a jazz-rock LP in 1977.

Her well known song "Minidate" is a cover from a Taiwanese movie soundtrack called “Wolf 7” in the late 80s. The song was originally recorded in Mandarin by Jin Yulan, then a Korean version was recorded by Seoul Family in 1989. Following the success of her first album, Young Ah released the albums “Out Door” (1993) and “A Sexy Glance” (1995). After taking a break from the music industry, Young Ah made a comeback in early 2007 within the Korean trot genre. Two new singles “오빠” and “빨리와” were released. Shortly, The First Single Album was released, having “빨리와” as the title track, and which includes new tracks and a new version of Minidate, in a Samba infused Trot style. In early 2008, the album received a reissue called “오빠 사랑해”, having the song revamped to suit more of the trot genre and became the title track for the reissue. It received promotion until late 2008. Young Ah then left the music industry, and continued to perform in various events such as fashion and theatre shows. In 2020, Young Ah made a comeback, appearing on the show "Sing Again" in South Korea as contestant #50. New singles were released such as Minidate 2021, Baby Baby, and Magic Woman. Born in Bacham Pen (Spanish Town Road), Kingston, Jamaica, into a devout Hindu family, he grew up immersed in religious rituals, nachaniya dancing, and cultural festivals like Hosay. As a young man, he learned barbering and moved to Leeds, UK, in the early 1960s, where he opened his first barbershop and record store. Inspired by a dream of a Sadhu (holy man), Mykoo returned to Jamaica in 1969 and founded the Raja Sarangie Group in 1974. Over his career, Mykoo recorded 52 tracks, releasing 19 singles and two LPs—Ham Jaane and Best of Johnny Mykoo—as well as contributing to the compilation Pleasure for the Soul. His music blended traditional Indian instruments and melodies with local Jamaican influences, resonating with audiences in the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, and beyond.
