Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Sweet Scarlet | Sweet Scarlet | Sweet Scarlet is a Norwegian band based in Oslo, which has built a solid reputation for their powerful song structures and passionate delivery. With music that is largely based on a wall of sound and sincere feelings, the band is described by many as very un-Norwegian in their expression. In addition to over 2 million streams on Spotify, the music of Sweet Scarlet has felt the beginning of having a global audience, and has been played on radio stations in Japan, Canada, the USA and Australia, as well as Norway. The band has been through a 4-year creative rebirth that has resulted in new songs with a sound that is difficult to categorise without having to look internationally. Search | Add | 5 | Odd Wannebo | Odd Wannebo | March 11. 1932 - July 16. 2016, Namsos, Norway. Born into the working class of a small town and working as a baker, he moved in the mid 50s to Oslo for a career in graphic design. His passion, though, was music, from the spirituals and gospel music of his childhood’s chapels and Salvation Army, where his mother was a passionate member. This was discovered by Oslo’s music scene, where he frequently attended with his remarkable bass voice. Kirsten Flagstad, the great opera singer, saw to that he became a solist at Den Norske Opera, after funding his education in Vienna. From there his career took him to the great international stages, while from 1963 finding himself at home mainly in the U.S.A and Canada, until settling down in Los Angeles, still performing within the opera scene. Here he would also pick up his roots in gospel and spirituals, performing and recording albums on vinyl and CD. At the end of his life he moved back to Namsos, Norway, where he passed away at the age of 84. |

Search | Add | 5 | John Permenter | Fiddle player and singer, originally from Texas. John Permenter's love for Country Music comes from his father who listened to Hank Williams, Marty Robbins, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Roger Miller and others... John fell in love with the violin after hearing Johnny Gimble play with Bob Wills: he begins the violin immediately. In 1977 after hearing Johnny Paycheck's song "Take this job and shove it", he quit his construction job and started singing and playing the violin for a living. Although he learned music in a school, his training was actually done in Honky Tonks throughout Texas and especially in Houston and San Antonio. For several years, he travels with Johnny Bush and also sings at Gilley's, a Honky Tonk owned by Mickey Gilley and there he meets European fans who are, according to him, more fans than some Americans and swears to cross the Atlantic one day to play in Europe. In the 80s, he worked in the studios in Houston and met Clint Black who hired him to play in his first album. He joined Clint Black's band and toured with them for two years. He also played in 1990 with Moe Bandy and landed in Branson, Missouri, with his wife and child. In 1995, he decided to pursue a solo career. Liz Anderson wrote him a song "Everybody's gotta run their own railroad" which is the title of his album. This one will be very well received in England. His dream of playing in Europe is coming true. He plays there 4 months a year, most often in Holland and also records in studios for other artists. He also tours in very beautiful countries such as Scotland, England, Ireland, Germany... He recorded his second album "Wayfaring Strangers" in Branson, Missouri, with his friends from Moe Bandy's band. In 1999, he moved to Austin, Texas, and performed with Dale Watson. And finally, he realizes an old dream, he records in Austin an album with all the songs that his father loved "Roots ~ The songs my father loved". John continues to cross the Atlantic from time to time to play in Holland, France but also in Germany, Belgium, etc... Permenter later lived in England and Ireland.

Search | Add | 5 | Brothers Incognito | It all started in the year 2002. Two rather refrained DJs were increasingly confronted with sentences like "Don´t you like what you´re doing? Take it easy! Just smile!" etc. All the time they were only concentrated, doing their thing. In order to avoid further nagging questions and uncomfortable situations, they decided to hide their faces and created helmets to wear during their sets. A suitable name had to be found, underlining this rather involuntary appeareance: BROTHERS INCOGNITO were born. Now the honoured listener could devote himself to the only essential and fundamental thing - music without compromise. Certain parallels to Daft Punk sank in much later and were, of course, unintentional. Since then, music is the absolute focus. The two quickly realised that now they were putting themselves under less pressure, relaxed and little by little developed a second personality behind their masks. In a certain way fantasy figures as known from movies, their creators giving them distinctive features and a special look, only in this case creator and creation merge into one. An explosive mixture seemingly allowing to cross borders and to achieve a certain freedom. The fan-base quickly grew and - to avoid exchangeability - was named the HOT SECRET SOCIETY. Rumours and speculations about who is hiding behind Brothers Incognito are going on until today. Communication is only possible by body language, the senses are influenced in a special and different way. Musically, borders and boundaries are equally pushed aside and different influences are incorporated into a DJ set. Thus you will find within a Brothers Incognito set House, Techno and Electro as well as Minimal and TechHouse. Always fresh, exciting and up-to-date.

Eastwood Music Group co-founders Luke Sardello and Skin Wade wanted to release a project that evoked the feelings they had when they first discovered the 70’s era fusion works of Herbie Hancock and Weather Report and Return to Forever. Upon linking with fellow Dallas native Max Gerl (bassist/composer), an alum of Berklee College of Music and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts, they knew they’d found someone to bring their concept to life. A well-studied musician/producer and mentee of jazz fusion bassist Stanley Clarke, Gerl understood the particular feeling Wade and Sardello sought to recreate.

Search | Add | 5 | Aldo Finzi | Aldo Finzi was a italian composer, born in Milan on February 4, 1897. Because of his Jewish origin he and his family lived the growing anti semitism in Italy: from an annulled prize to his opera in 1937's La Scala Competition, to the effect of the anti-jewish laws introduced by the Mussolini's fascist government in 1938 ("Leggi Razziali", Racial Laws). During the Nazi occupation that followed, Finzi went into hiding, working anonymously, or under alias name, succeding to escape mass deportations in hair-raising ways. Search | Add | 5 | TPMP | renjie zhao | TPMP is particularly good at deconstructing Techno, especially with a strong experimental approach to create conflicts with Techno, and after this experimental conflict, return to Techno's kernel again. TPMP is an electronic music arranger, mixer, mastering engineer and Eurorack modular designer. He is living in Chengdu a new upcoming Techno city in China. He was early on into electronic music and his production style is greatly influenced by BT, The Future Sound of London and Enigma. Later on, his style gradually turned to TECHNO (style wise he was influenced by Echospace, Basic channel, and Maurizio obviously). He implemented these various styles into TECHNO to form his own experimental style. Integrating EPIC, Ambient, Glitch into the core of TECHNO has always been his main focus. After trying a lot of modular music production methods, in order to achieve its own unique TECHNO experimental style, he began in 2016 to independently develop its own eurorack modular, accumulated a lot of understanding of the relationship between live set and modular world. On the spot, TPMP has always insisted on controlling through the Modular live set, using Modular's greatest possibility to build a unique and unpredictable on-site perception, making the live experience full of possibilities. His LIVE SET contains psychedelic modulations from varies modular synth. |
