Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 Spider Junkies Spider Junkies were a NYC-based glam band that played throughout the NY/NJ area from the late 1980s through to the mid-1990s. They had many members through their time together, including several different singers, but were always recognized for their strong songwriting and memorable choruses. Hollywood-based manager Gerry Gittelson once said of the band, "This band was the Big Bang Babies of NY City. (They) never made it big, but should have sold millions of records" The band recorded four demo tapes over the years, however none of them were ever professionally duplicated. All of their demos were hand made by the band. Because of this, it's hard to find two copies of their demos that are exactly alike, as the band frequently would use different pictures, logos, colors of paper (for the photo copied covers), and brands of cassette tapes on their demos. The songs speak for themselves though.

Search Add 5 Browntown Looters Members: Oscar F. (D.J. Clear) Venegas Tony (Citric-T) Campos Richard S. (Skinny) Lopez Coming straight from the East Los Angeles hip-hop underground are the Brown Town Looters. The Brown Town Looters have been around for many years. The group was formed back in 1989, when the group was originally named Brown Town. The original members were Critic-T (Boyle Heights), D.J. Clear, and Shotgun (both of Montebello). In 1990, a street-smart homie known as Skinny (East Los) joined the group. In 1992, Brown Town released their first single entitled "Dope House in the Ghetto" on Explicit Records. That summer, Brown Town was performing at various clubs and car shows. That group was getting ready to release their album, since reviews of their shows were very positive. In 1993, their manager, who was also managing "Proper Dos," mismanaged Brown Town. The group decided not to retain him as their manager after backlash was felt from his management tactics. Also in 1993, Shotgun left the group, branching out on his own solo endeavors. In 1994, the group picked up a new rapper, Cash Phlow of South Central Los Angeles. 1994 also brought with it a new name, Brown Town Looters. With this new-year and new name, Brown Town Looters were coming into their own. Also in '94 they released a two-song promotional Compact Disc. The group also began to make appearance at lowrider car shows and concerts. At about the same time, the group started working on another album and were in the process of negotiating to sign with a record label. In 1995, the group met with Future Entertainment, after which, the Brown Town Looters' ads were seen in various magazines such as High Times, The Source, etc. With this new-found exposure, the group, along with Jose Lopez (Skinny's brother) of Looters Management, and Future Entertainment created Hemp Town Records. HempTown Records was created to manufacture cassette tapes and Compact Discs of Brown Town Looter's unreleased album, "Koncrete Phunk." All they needed was a distribution system for their album. Unfortunately, due to Future Entertainment's mismanagement, this never happened. After this fiasco, Citric-T and Cash Phlow joined together with D.J. Ray of "Cruising with La Raza," a cable show on Buenavision Cable in East Los Angeles. D.J. Ray asked Citric-T and Cash Phlow to host the show in East L.A. while he hosted the show in Arizona. This arrangement allowed the Brown Town Looters to gain greater exposure. At about the same time, the group met other hip-hop groups and formed a hip-hop family which as known as "Brown Town Looters Click." The "Click" consisted of Brown Town Looters, featuring Mr. Juvenile, 2-Phattal, Explicit, and Lil' Indian. In 1996, Citric-T and Cash Phlow left the cable show and began their own cable show called "Undaground Flava." The show consisted of rap/hip-hop videos and interviews with guest from the hip-hop Industry such as Cypress Hill, W.C., Doveshack, Mellow Man Ace, and Delinquent Habits. Looter's Management was also booking shows left and right. Brown Town Looters were performing with music artists such as Cypress Hill, Ice-T, Coolio, Zapp, Rodney O and Joe Cooley, Kid Frost, and Mack 10. In August of 1996, the Brown Town Looters, featuring Mr. Juvenile, were featured in the "Definition of Brown" compilation, a product of Latino owned Green Side Records. In 1997, Looters' Management made a deal with John Lozoya (one of the original creators of Lowrider Magazine) of Super Event Entertainment for a Mid-West tour, taking Brown Town Looters to Texas, Arizona and New Mexico, promoting their new album, "Live and Learn." This new tour brought new friendships for Brown Town Looters. One such friendship with Street Smart Clothing, a company associated with Top Nation Clothing. This alliance brought Brown Town Looters a new line of Brown Town Looters clothing (gear). This association also led to a Japan Super Car Show as the headliners. In January 1998, "Definitions of Brown, Part Two" was released and again Brown Town Looters were included. BTL released their "Live and Learn" album on September 18, 1998.

Search Add 5 Vindva Mei Rúnar Magnússon / Pétur Eyvindsson Vindva Mei was formed in 1994 by the 3 northern boys Pétur Eyvindsson, Ásmundur Ásmundsson and Rúnar Magnússon. After a couple of performances Ásmundur left to focus on his studies in visual arts. Vindva Mei kept going as a duo, throwing itself in different directions. With the 2 member´s different preferences, Péturs more rhythmical, melodic structures and Rúnar´s more abstract soundscapes people could never know what to expect. After Rúnar moved to Denmark in late ´96 Vindva mei slowed down. Working when the members met in Iceland or Denmark resulted in 3 albums but fewer and fewer live performances. In the last couple of years Vindva Mei has recorded new material and has decided to perform again after years of absence from the stage. First performance was in august 2010 where Vindva Mei played a short set of new material for an enthusiastic audience in Reykjavík.

Giving support and experience, his father showed him different kinds of music and at the age of 13, Mc Ap began writing. His introduction to hip-hop was break dancing, graffitti, DJ'ing, and eventually MC'ing. His first album "Destructive Force," was an introduction of horrorcore rap to Mexico. It became a huge success. There weren't many horrorcore rappers in Mexico, but because of his interest in the sub-genre that differs from many, he stuck with it... adding his own twist, of course. Next, the album "Brutal Kingdom" was released with a pure horrorcore approach.

Search Add 5 Sisters Sex Haus Sisters Sex Haus was formed after the split in 1983 of Dance Of Death. Danny Garmijn left the band and his brother Franky Garmijn replaced his brother. Stefan Timmermans and Franky Garmijn changed the name to Sisters Sex Haus a reference to Sisters Of Mercy, Alien Sex Fiend and Bauhaus. Evena s their sound had nothing to do with those bands. Both changed their name quickly into Nick Bat (Stefan) and Eve Mortley (Franky) because they used to be resident DJ's at The Tube and B52. Soon as they were planning to record Multiplication 6 Drive Glenn Rotsaert joined on guitar. Yves Beaumont did some writing. But after one year they both left the band. School became an issue to make new songs and in 1987 Sisters Sex Haus was over.

Search Add 5 M.C. Mr. Tink Christopher Lang Born and raised on the streets of Compton California, a highly decorated gang member and street pharmacist, already an up and coming talent in the underground rap community. Chris's long time friend the late Johnny Burns aka- Mr. Mausberg was inspired by Chris to fallow his dreams as a reality rap artist, Mausberg was killed in the summer of 2000. Chris Lang's life would forever be changed during the summer of 1997. This transformation will forever be remembered as the new birth of "Trip C" (Chris Crazy for Christ). With the renewing of his heart, mind, and spirit, Trip C has fully launched himself in the use and the perfecting his gift by bringing the word of God to the streets from whence he came, through the medium of rap. Vowing to never again write lyrics that kill, but create lyrics that up lift and wins souls for the true and living God. Trip C states "for we are not chosen by the Lord to be entertainers, but vessels used according to his will and purpose". Searching for answers, looking to fill a void, and a desire to quench his thirst for knowledge, Trip C began a migration southward. Through the direction of the Holy Spirit, Trip C found himself in Oceanside, Ca. under the leadership and direction of Dr.'s Clarence & Josephine Crayton, Faith Temple Christian Center.Collaborating with Grapetree recording artist Crow, on his current release "The Method of Attack", Trip C's hunger to minister the Word, and obedience to the Holy Spirit has grown into a roaring fire, Trip C has launched his own independent Gospel Label, "All for Jesus" Records (AFJ), on which his debut project, "The New School Testament", will be released. AFJ's main focus will be to bring the word to the lost and save souls.Trip C's contributions to the world of gospel rap, with heated lyrics of salvation and prosperity can only be matched through the love and support displayed by his loving wife Nathia.Revelations 2:7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God."

Search Add 5 Concave Scream Singapore rock band Concave Scream paved the way for other homegrown bands, particularly amid the country's fledgling indie rock scene. Founded in 1994 by schoolmates Sean Lam (lead vocals, guitar) and Pann Lim (lead guitar, vocals), the band released its self-financed, self-titled debut album in 1995 and saw it catch on steadily among English-language rock listeners in Singapore, especially among critics. The growing buzz about Concave Scream led to the breakthrough success of their second album, Erratic (1997), which spawned several radio hits and elevated the band to the top of Singapore's rock scene. Three (1999) continued the band's success, but it would be a long seven years before Concave Scream returned with their fourth album, Horizons (2006), a return to-roots effort on EMI Singapore. Their fifth and final album, Soundtrack For A Book, an instrumental album that was once again self-released, would follow in 2009.

Search Add 5 Groupe 13 Novembre 13 Novembre [a273983] (Studio Engineer @ CBE and Producer) asks Pascal Oubreyrie to write and adapt Jules Verne's book: "The mysterious island". After re-reading the 2 volumes, Pascal proposed the texts to the other members of the GROUPE 13 NOVEMBRE, created for this opportunity: Backing Vocals, Drums – [a4245699] Guitar, Backing Vocals, Bass – [a5480532] Piano, Synthesizer, Backing Vocals – [a1078708] Vocals, Bass Guitar – [a4245701] The recording was laborious but at the same time a lot of good times. Certainly too early/ahead of its time, this work is realized in the form of a musical comedy or opera rock. The expected result, even after a few TV promo, will not be at the desired height: just one album with only one promo extract published

Search Add 5 Scarlett's Fall SCARLETT'S FALL is a duo formed in 2014 by Ruth Childs (British-American performance artist and singer based in Geneva) and Stéphane Vecchione (Swiss performance artist and musician based in Lausanne). They define themselves as dirty-girlie-kitchen-pop mixing catchy melodies and repetitive looping with fragile vocals and provocative texts. Out of their playfully ironic and poetic universe you can ear shades of CAN, Broadcast and Young Marble Giants. SCARLETT’S FALL toured their first album all over Switzerland and supported Tricky, Peaches and Anika.
