Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 8 | TLFN | Григорий Сергеев | TLFN – It’s like reading between the lines. Raw industrial noise, hypnotic loops of atypic beats, the howl of synthesizers – it all transforms into flow, like a fog that envelops you, erasing the walls… _ Somewhere deep down of the wires the force is swaying that have created them. On each motherboard as in labyrinths flows of the energy giving life wander. Just like in man, there is a trace of the fundamental principle that allows us to seek a connection with nature in the creation of a new world. In a new reality, music is a cyborg of art, mixing natural analog sounds and crystal digital waves. |

Search | Add | 8 | عزيزة جلال | عزيزة محمد جلال (ʿAzīza Muḥammad Jalāl) | Aziza Jalal is an iconic Arabic singer from Morocco, she currently lives in Saudi Arabia and is a Saudi national. Before fame and marriage, the singer dedicated her life to the study of music. Young Aziza Jalal studied music in Meknes before participating in a singing competition called Mawahib (Talents) supervised by renowned Moroccan singer Abdelnabi Al Jirari in 1975. During the competition, the singer performed songs of well-known Egyptian and international Arab icons, such as Shadia and Ismahan. In a singing career that lasted from 1975 to 1985, Aziza Jalal became a popular classical singers across the Arab world before deciding to give up the artistic scene for a life of piety with a Saudi husband. She was known to be King Hassan II of Morocco's favourite singer, and often appeared on Moroccan television and at state occasions singing nationalistic, pan-Arab, and Islamic-themed material. The singer had made a name for herself as one of the top Arab singers in the 70s and 80s. Not too little to late, her vocals have made headlines again as she astonished the world by singing a few verses from her song during the television show. Jalal’s song “Mestaniyak” was covered by Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram, one of the most popular Arab artists. The song’s lyrics come from the repertoire of the great Egyptian musician Mohamed Abdelouahab. The composer of the song was renowned musician Baligh Hamdi. Aziza Jalal, however, had several other famous songs, including Min Hakek T’atebny (You have the right to blame me,) and Houa El Hob Le’baa (Love is a Game.) Jalal’s early songs achieved commercial success in the UAE and in Egypt, and with the help of songwriter and poet Abdel Wahab Mohammed and artist Sayed Makkawi, among others, she quickly became a household name in the entire Arab world. n 1985, Aziza Jalal chose to leave the stage. Aziza Jalal married a Saudi businessman Ali bin Butti al-Ghamdi who gave her the right to decide whether or not she wants to retire. She didn't think much into it and decided to leave. She stated that wasn't a decision she regrets. The proposal suddenly ended her career in the music industry, leaving her fans disappointed, knowing that she could have added even more hits to her already impressive list of songs. May 22, 2019 marked a surprise for the Arab World. It was the day that Moroccans and fans across the Arab world had the chance to meet again with the prominent Moroccan arabic singer, Aziza Jalal, who was out of the spotlight for 34 years. The singer made her first appearance since 1985 on a television show aired by MBC television channel. The TV show is called “Likaa mina sifr” or “meeting from scratch.” In the show, the singer also wowed audiences across the world when she performed her legendary song “Mestanyak,” translated as “I am waiting for you” in English, with the same passion and maybe a little bit more. The interview with Aziza Jalal was also posted by the television show on YouTube. The interview generated more than 1 million views and thousand of comments. After a 34-year hiatus, Jalal returned to the stage on Thursday 26 December 2019 at Winter at Tantora.[8] Jalal's much anticipated performance started at 10 p.m. Aziza Jalal, who has kept a low profile for more than 30 years, rekindled emotions as generations were enchanted by her voice and songs. She thanked her fans “for coming to see me after a long hiatus. I’ve never been away from you, you have always been in my heart. I'm back today because of your love for me. I decided to come back to participate in these joyful events in our country.” During the concert,Aziza Jalal performed “Love is not a game” composed by Muhammad Al-Mouji and written by Mamoun Al-Shinawai, and "Waiting for you (Mestaniyak) which the audience enjoyed immensely. She also performed many of her classics. Her message to the youth was: “Hear us out because we are the past, and the past needs the present and the future, hear us out so that we hear you out.”. |

Search | Add | 8 | Rinaldo Calheiros | Brazilian singer born December 3, 1926 in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte - died 2010. He was a career officer at the Brazilian Air Force, but a car accident forced him into an earlier retirement. He started singing at the Rádio Poty, in his home town and soon was elected "The Star" of that radio. In 1951 he formed a group with Chico Elion (acoustic guitar) and João Juvanklin (accordion), the Trio Acaiaca. From 1955 to 1957 they recorded a few 78 rpm's but it was in 1960, when he was living in São Paulo that he really went into the music world. There he sang on several records for CBS, Continental and Columbia. In 1961 he released his first solo LP, "Em Tudo Existe Amor". In 1962, with Silvana, he recorded "Ouvindo-te Com Amor", which was well accepted by the public and from then on, both singers went on their solo careers.

Search | Add | 8 | Dr. Cascadura | Cascadura | Cascadura, anteriormente chamada "Dr. |

Search | Add | 8 | Howard Lovett | Howard W Lovett II | Howard W Lovett II (b. About 1950) is an audio engineer and co-owner (with his wife Lindy Lovett) of [l716272], also known as Studio South Productions. The studio was moved previously, and has been located two former locations (with no two locations ever being in operation at the same time): 1980 to 1982: [l=Studio South, Dublin, Georgia] Studio South was originally opened in Dublin, Georgia USA in 1980, until 1982 when Lovett moved his family and studio to Augusta, Georgia USA. 1982 to September, 2000: [l=Studio South, Augusta, Georgia] the studio was located at 2510 Peach Orchard Road in nearby Augusta, Georgia Lovett has been awarded for his work in producing content for local advertising campaigns, but he is probably best known for his work with jazz trombonist [a=Wycliffe Gordon] and [a=James Brown], who usually credited Lovett on his releases as "Mr. Howard Lovett." During one recording session with [a=James Brown], Lovett had setup a quick rough mix to playback the most recent take. When James Brown heard the playback, he liked what he heard, but Lovett protested, as he thought that a pass through a computer was needed to make the rough mix as good as possible. Mr. Brown put his hand on the engineer's shoulder and reassured him that his initial efforts were just right. "Mr. Lovett, the first time God does it. The second time you do it - I want God's version," he said. Background Lovett attended Florida Bible College in Miami in the late 1960's. He was singing with Joyful Noise, one of the earliest bands to play Christian folk rock. The group attracted the notice of the record label [l=Impact (7)] (the same label as the [a=Imperials]) and Joyful Noise signed a contract with [l=Impact (7)]. Joyful Noise's first album became an immediate underground success after the college banned it because of the drums on it. Howard Lovett met his wife to be, Lindy, at school in Miami. After their wedding, the couple moved to Dublin, Georgia USA., where Mr. Lovett worked at Pine Forest United Methodist Church as a youth pastor and youth minister of music and led Bible studies. In the 1970's, Howard Lovett and his family formed Loves Shares, Inc. and went on the road with a musical-comedy act. Their 4-year-old daughter, Lori, opened the show by reciting a psalm. Mrs. Lovett ran sound and some slides while Mr. Lovett appeared onstage with a sidekick, a gun-slinging cowboy puppet named Wichita. They never did any booking themselves. Word of mouth was enough to get them 225 to 250 appearances a year at churches, high schools and, once, a McDonald's at 2 a.m. But when their children indicated they wanted to be more involved in school activities, the couple decided it was time to limit travelling and look for other income. "I thought it would be fun" to build a recording studio, said Mr. Lovett, who had worked with studios in Atlanta and Florida. Small-town Dublin, Georgia wasn't ideal for such a venture, but groups came to their studio from all over the country. In 1982, Lovett released his album [r=4955881], which features a picture of his family on the back cover. Later in 1982, The Lovetts moved from Dublin to Peach Orchard Road in Augusta at the suggestion of one of their clients, an advertising agency. |

I think that many of us who formed successful bands from the 90's forgot that certain detail in a certain way; So the members showed more interest in the profitability or commercial than to see the union of their groups. That was the reason why there were so many dissolved groups. In short, one learns from his mistakes, what is important, and learns to put priorities in his life and I know my own: God, my family, my career, my presidency in Sayce and my students at the University. |
Search | Add | 8 | Will EsCargo | Will Liu | Growing up around the Boston area, Will EsCargo was heavily influenced by the East Coast hip hop sound. He first fell in love with hip hop when he was 6 years old, hearing Sugar Hill Gang - Rapper’s Delight for the first time. Around that same time, he started getting into Biggie, Nas, as well as the 90’s R&B artists (TLC, Aaliyah, Mariah, and more). By the time he was 11 years old, Will had released a mixtape and was performing at his middle school. In high school and college, Will continued writing but also started focusing on the production side and studied legends like DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Alchemist, 9th Wonder, etc. In 2018, Will dropped his debut project “Real Eyes C U 4 U”, that included the fan favorite “Smooth Butter”. In 2019, he dropped “The Rich Beggar” with another fan favorite “In Your Ear”. That year he also collaborated with China’s biggest rapper Masiwei. In 2020, Will looks to release the 5 projects he has in store. |

Search | Add | 8 | Boris Barere | Борис Симонович Барер (Boris S. Barer) | Boris Barere (b. 10 July 1921, Odesa, Russian Empire) is an American pianist of Russian-Jewish origins, centenarian, and son of renowned virtuoso [a=Simon Barere] (1896—1951). His current whereabouts and retirement date are unknown; some of the latest interviews date to 2015. (As of late 2023, Barere would be 102 years old.) He began learning piano at four with his parents; Barere's father, a recent graduate of [l=St. Petersburg Conservatory], served as the Kiyv Conservatory professor and had an illustrious concert career. However, the Soviet economy was disintegrating under the harsh [a=Joseph Stalin] leadership, while antisemitism grew stronger; in 1928, the Bareres family relocated to Riga in Latvia, where Simon managed to get a post of USSR Baltics & Scandinavia Cultural Ambassador (his wife's brother and Boris' uncle, cellist [a=Franz Vlashek], also resided in Riga). In 1931, his father obtained the exit visas for the family, and they relocated to Germany, where Simon accepted an offer to conduct a series of concerts in Berlin. The timing couldn't be worse as right after their arrival, the first Nazi sanctions and restrictions against Jews began; Simon's concert arrangements were canceled. Unable to secure any orchestral or academic positions, his father had to survive on odd jobs playing piano at local vaudevilles. In 1933, Boris and his family fled to Sweden, where he attended school and continued studying piano. By 1940, as [a=Adolf Hitler] embarked on the Second World War, even Scandinavia became unsafe. Thus, Boris went to the United States with his mother, where Simon Barere already settled four years prior. In 1941, Bareres moved from New York to Chicago, where Boris began his studies with [a=Sergei Tarnowsky], one of [a=Vladimir Horowitz]'s former teachers. The following year, Bareres again relocated, now renting a house in Scarsdale, New York. Twenty-year-old Boris hadn't naturalized as a US citizen yet and received a demand from the US Army to join the military draft or get deported; Barere enlisted and trained at several military bases, including Fort Riley in Kansas (where Boris founded a local church to occasionally perform music with his Army buddy, violinist [a=Arnold Belnick].) In 1943, Barere was deployed to Casablanca, Morocco, and subsequently participated in the Angio Beach invasion in Italy. (He fought alongside actor [a=Burt Lancaster (2)] (1913—1994), and they became close friends.) After WWII, Boris Barere returned to New York and studied with [a=Rosina Lhévinne] at the [l=Juilliard School]. He established a prolific stage career, primarily concentrated on chamber music, and made several albums for the [l=Cembal D'Amour] label. Barere often collaborated with such prominent musicians as flutist [a=Julius Baker] or violinists [a=David Nadien], [a=Berl Senofsky], [a=Michael Rabin], and [a=Ossy Renardy]. Boris gave several duo piano recitals with his father, [a=Simon Barere], including their performances at [l=Carnegie Hall]. (A posthumous [r=14337521] CD/DVD compilation came out in 2016, featuring most of their joint recordings and surviving video footage.) In later years, Boris Barere joined [a=George Balanchine]'s [a=New York City Ballet] company — he participated in stage productions and made studio recordings of Schumann's Symphonic Etudes and selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, among others. |

Search | Add | 8 | Arthur Custer | Arthur Russell Custer | American composer born in Manchester, Connecticut on April 21, 1923. BIOGRAPHY University of Rhode Island Library Special Collections and Archives Guide to the Arthur Russell Custer Papers 1940-1997 Arthur Russell Custer was born in Manchester, Connecticut on April 21, 1923. Custer demonstrated an early interest in music, playing on a piano in the family home as a child. In fifth grade he joined the Manchester Green Grammar School Band as a drummer. At Manchester High School, Custer continued playing drums for the school band, as well as playing in jazz dance bands, an activity he continued throughout his high school and undergraduate years. Custer graduated from Manchester High School in 1940, and began studying engineering at Hillyer Junior College in Hartford , Connecticut. Around that time he began spending time in Greenwich Village jazz clubs, listening to the music, and picking up several new instruments, including trombone, bass, and saxophone. He also began writing pop songs during this period. In 1942 he graduated Hillyer with an Associate’s degree in Science. World War II temporarily interrupted Custer’s studies, and from 1942 until 1946 he served in the U.S. Navy as a fighter pilot in the South Pacific, attaining the rank of lieutenant junior grade. After leaving the Navy, Custer returned to college, this time taking up the study of music. He graduated from the University of Connecticut at Storrs in 1949, with a major in music education. Custer worked his way through college by playing in a jazz band which, after he graduated, continued playing together once a year until the 1990s. In 1947, while still at Storrs, he married Marilyn Emmons. After graduation, rather than pursuing a career in music education, Custer began studying composition at the University of Redlands in California. He studied under Paul Pisk at Redlands, and was instructed in the twelve-tone technique of composition. During this period he wrote the score for a University stage production of Moliere’s “The Doctor in Spite of Himself.” He graduated from Redlands in 1951 with a Master’s degree in Music. In 1952, Custer took a position as Assistant Professor of Music at Kansas Wesleyan University, becoming the head of the Department of Fine Arts in 1954. He left Kansas Wesleyan in 1955 for a position as Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Omaha, where he acted as Director of Bands, and also taught a course on classical music and composers for the University's pioneer program, "The TV Classroom." This television series offered college credit through broadcast lectures. While at Omaha, he organized a small jazz band, and was a member of the Omaha Composers Group. Custer began working on his PhD at the University of Iowa in 1956, studying under Philip Bezanson. While a PhD candidate Custer reevaluated his old works, discarding all of his early compositions. He began writing what he considered more serious works, completing several in that year. He finished his dissertation, “Concert Piece for Orchestra and Sextet for Woodwinds and Piano,” in 1959, and was granted his PhD in August of that year. Upon receiving his PhD, Custer took a position as the Director of the Music Section of the American School in Seville, Spain. While in Spain, he became involved with the community of Spanish composers, becoming a member of the Sociedad General de Autores de Espana, and eventually having several of his compositions, including his “Symphony No. 1” and “Concert Piece for Orchestra,” performed by the Madrid Philharmonic. He also continued his study of composition with Nadia Boulanger in Paris and Fontainebleau. He moved to Madrid in 1960 when he was given the position of Supervisor of Music for the U.S. Air Force Dependent Schools in Spain. During his time in Spain, 1960-61, he hosted a Sunday morning program, “Music for Music’s Sake,” on Armed Forces radio. Working with the United States Information Service as the music consultant to Casa Americana, he lectured, conducted, and helped to organize a series of concerts of American music, which included a visit by the composer Aaron Copland in June of 1961. Custer returned to the United States in 1962, becoming the Assistant Dean for Fine Arts at the University of Rhode Island. While in this position, he helped organize the Festival of Contemporary Art at URI in 1963. Custer was also active in the arts community at the state level, holding positions as President of the Rhode Island Music Teacher Association, the Vice-President of the Rhode Island Fine Arts Council, and the Vice-President of the Eastern Division of the Music Teachers National Association. Custer left the University of Rhode Island in 1965 to become the Dean of the Philadelphia Musical Academy. While in Philadelphia, he also held the position of Vice-President of the Philadelphia Composers Forum. In 1967, he married Delores Borgaard, and they moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where Custer became the Director of a U.S. Office of Education project, the Metropolitan Educational Center in the Arts, that developed arts centers and programs for children in public schools. He also wrote the program notes for the St. Louis Symphony during his time there. He remained in St. Louis until 1970, when he returned to Rhode Island to become the Director of The Arts in Education Project for the Rhode Island Council of the Arts. In 1973 he was named Composer-in-residence for the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. Custer gave frequent lectures, wrote many journal articles, and was the visiting composer and guest professor on many college campuses, including the Manhattan School of Music in 1973, Lesley College Graduate School in 1975, and the College of DuPage in 1976. He also developed an arts education workshop, “Explorations,” with pianist Dwight Peltzer. Custer’s compositions were frequently abstract works that used the serially ordered 12-tone techniques he had learned at the University of Redlands, and also incorporated improvisation and humor. His pieces often used electronic sounds, particularly pre-recorded tape that was integrated into, and sometimes influenced, the performance of the pieces. Custer also incorporated other artistic media into the performance of his compositions. His works were sometimes performed in museums and galleries, and used paintings or sculptures as objects to be expressed as music. Audiences were sometimes asked to assist in his performances by creating artworks, such as Styrofoam forms or painted images on slides, which were then displayed and used as the basis for improvisation by the musicians. Custer had many of his scores published as sheet music, and a number of his compositions were released as LP records. In the 1970s and 80s, Custer began contracting to publishing and video production companies, writing scores to accompany documentary and dramatic productions for both television and film. Most of these film scores were written for children’s productions, a number of which went on to win awards, including Parent's Choice Awards, Video Magazine Awards, several awards from film festivals, and nominations for Emmy Awards. He also composed music for advertisements and several commercial jingles during this time. Custer wrote and performed educational songs for children in the 1990s. The songs, which he recorded under the name “Grandpa Art,” were generally about animals and nature, and presented factual information about their topics with an entertaining, jazzy rhythm for children. Custer performed as "Grandpa Art" several times, both in live performances and on television broadcasts. Arthur Custer died on September 17, 1998 at the age of 75. |

Search | Add | 8 | Goodbye Lisbon | Jorge Alves | Goodbye Lisbon was created by Jorge Alves, a portuguese musician who has been making and producing electronic music for almost two decades. He started as a DJ in high school in the 90’s and ended up working as a professional DJ in reputed discos in Madeira, such as Bacará. His love and burning passion for electronic music started then! The music styles of House, Techno, Trance and Break Beat were always on his turntables every night. He moved to Lisbon, in order to attend University, but his heart was beating music, so he started his own project called "Download" and soon was considered one of the best newcomers on electronic music in the year 2000 by ProMusica Magazine. This brought him the chance of having a track of the project “Download” launched in a compilation CD of musics from the best portuguese upcoming DJs. Through the years, Jorge Alves has collaborated with other musicians successfully, including with a portuguese band who launched a CD in Portugal, playing the role of the main keyboard player and producer. In 2003, another adventure started when he moved to Belgium and got closer to the international electronic music scene. He launched Goodbye Lisbon as a tribute to his adventures in Lisbon’s nightlife. Currently, Jorge Alves is still working in his area of studies, but in parallel still produces electronic music as it is his major passion. |

Search | Add | 8 | Gtarzee | Who is Gtarzee? Gtarzee is Tim Norrgrann - the solo artist. Tim Norrgrann is best known as the co-founder, composer, occasional lyricist, lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the Finnish-Canadian hard rockers Forth. Co-writing some of their most memorable songs, Tim is building a reputation of writing songs that are melodic, beautiful, powerful and yet easy listening. Tim started playing guitar early on, but switched to bass in the early 2000’s and joined two bands of different musical styles; the pop rock band Beneath the Bed and the progressive rock band Ethereal. Tim switched back to lead guitar after joining the hard rock band Naked Idol in 2008. Continuing his musical adventures Tim picked up the bass again and recorded the bass guitar for the song 'Voittaja' by Kultakypärä. The song 'Voittaja' was the 2010 theme song for Fintoto (horse racing in Finland). In august 2010 Tim picked up the guitar once again and formed The Roc with Canadian vocalist Brian Forth. A few years later the band changed its name, at the suggestion of Tim, to Forth. Up until today, Forth has released three albums; the debut album "Road Stories" (2014), the sophomore album "Captivity" (2019) and the newly released third album "Forth" (2021). Now the musical adventures of Tim Norrgrann continue alongside of Forth as the solo artist Gtarzee.
