Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 8 | Tony Dalardo | Antonio Lardera | Tony Dalardo (also known as Tony Dallara) was born on June 30 1936 and is an Italian singer, actor and television personality. He was born at Campobasso in southern Italy, but grew up in Milan. After working as barman and clerk, he began his musical career in the band Rocky Mountains (the future group I Campioni); his singing style was inspired, in particular, by American singers such as Frankie Laine and Tony Williams. In 1957, he signed a contract as singer with the Italian label Music, where he was working as delivery man. His first single "Come prima", although refused for admission to the Sanremo Festival, was published in December 1957 and sold 300,000 copies, becoming the biggest selling single in Italy up to that point. In 1960 Dallara won the Sanremo Music Festival and the Canzonissima competition with the song "Romantica"; the following year he won again Canzonissima with the song "Bambina bambina". |

Search | Add | 8 | The Knowe O'Deil Band | The Knowe O'Deil Band hail from Orkney. its members had been playing for many years in ub sessions in and around Orkney before forming the group more than 10 years ago. Since this time the band has seen many talented Orcadian members come and go. There is a good tradition of music in Orkney, although there seem to be more tunes than songs. Very little of it has been heard outside Orkneny itself. There is an Orkney folk festival every year, held in the town of Stromness in May, and occasionally ceilidhs are held throughout the county. All members of the band are self taught Most of the tunes are Orcadian tradition, some of them are from famous native fiddlers. Remarkably enough, this is the first revivalist LP of folk music on the Orkneys.

His philosophy is to rescue all those old forgotten 70s & 80s songs to give them a second life through a 21st century energetic sound, but heavily influenced by the purest Disco & Funk roots. As Disco Or Die! likes to say, he considers himself some kind of 'music archaeologist', so don't expect to hear the already overused Billie Jean or Earth Wind & Fire samples on some of his productions. It all gets much more original than that :) Do not miss any of the new Disco Or Die! songs that are about to come out! |

Search | Add | 8 | John William Burrows | John William Burrows was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He loved the piano and took to playing before he was school-age, around the age of four. His mother was a pianist and recognized the talent of her young son, nurturing that talent all the way through John's high school years. John Burrows served his country during the Korean conflict. He was not shipped to Korea but instead was sent to post World War Two Germany where he served as a chaplain's assistant. While serving, he had the opportunity to apply his musical skills, and began to explore the keyboard. Returning stateside, he was accepted at the Crane School of Music at Potsdam, New York. As an applied piano student of James Ball, John received the coveted Senior Recital Award with graduation. A career of teaching music in public schools in the state of New York was followed by a period of self exploration and travel abroad and across the United States and Canada. A romantic man, John Burrows loved the music of the great European composers of the 19th century Romantic period. One of his favorite journeys was tracing the life of Chopin. John prided himself on his athletic ability and well as his dedication to his beloved instrument. His daily routine included long distance running, tennis, golf, ice hockey, hiking or skiing. This was always preceded by two hours of practice that included his favorite Russian exercises and running scales and arpeggios up and down the keyboard. Afternoons and evenings, Mr. Burrows was back at the piano, either performing or working out his pieces. Mr. Burrows passed away in November of 2012.

Search | Add | 8 | Michael Anthony Keane | GAIA COMMUNICATIONS WORLD NETWORK Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law Dear Brothers and Sisters, Fraternal greetings. My name is Michael Keane, I am a member of the OTO based in Liverpool, England; and since 1978 I have been working as a music(k)ian under the name of The Royal Family & the Poor. Over the last 20 years, under this name, I have produced numerous LP's, singles and videos, some on Manchester based Factory Records and later privately releasing material on our own Independent Label, Gaia Communications World Network. The Royal Family & the Poor began in 1977 as a collaboration of two artists, myself and a friend, Arthur Mcdonald, who was the original vocalist. The very first recordings the Royal Family & the Poor were done on a £15.00 cassette machine and were nothing more to the average listener than white noise with an electrical drone. Over this, Arthur would read Situationist text taken from some of his own writings coupled with exerpts taken from Rauol Vanegiem's "leaving the 20th century" Our "sound" was created by my dismantling a radio receiver, wiring it up to a small analogue synthesiser and connecting them both to an old stereo gram. This would then be manipulated by moving magnets around the receiver in the radio. The Royal Family & the Poor began as an Aural- Psychic-audio experiment in transpersonal forms of communication between ourselves and the listener. The rehearsal room at home became our musickal, alchemical lab and The Royal Family & the Poor's Musick became a technique to explore consciousness. After all, what is Music(k) other than the ability to articulate the incommunicable, the occult or hidden? Music(k) can give insights of the Soul. It can teach us how to remain open and receptive to the new, the magical. It can move and inspire us to participate in creation, to mold, to draw, to etch, to carve, to Create; the creed of OZ, that "every man and woman is" an Artist or "a star." It was specifically this relationship between magic(k), Art and the ability of sound to effect changes in consciousness that began to fascinate us and so we decided to call our music "musick". Factory Records heard a tape of what we were doing and invited us to contribute to a double LP sampler showcasing four of Factory's new acts. It was quickly recorded live one afternoon in Joy Divisions first four track studio. After this first year the other members, including Arthur McDonald, left the group. As I had felt something profoundly moving in the musick we had made, the ideas behind it and the wave of energy which surged through our entire generation around these times, to say nothing of the wonderful music coming out of every dark corner in the UK, (called by the gutter-press "punk rock") I decided to continue any way that I could. It was 1982, the year that I had been working on a "Practical correspondence course on the Mystical Quabbala with S.O.L., when out-of-the-blue I had a visit from a friend who just happened to be doing photographs for a William Burroughs event in the town centre that evening. He thought I might like to tag along. The subsequent meeting was like something strait out of "Interzone" and shocked me by its Psychic reality. It was as if Burroughs had been expecting me. He shook my hand and treated me as if I was an old friend. In the hours that followed I experienced something that I had not felt since childhood, a sense of being loved by something far greater than myself. It wasn't until I returned home that I realised that that love I had felt from him had not left me. It never did and continues to inspire me today. "The great God Pan is dead, Pan, the God of Panic, the sudden awareness that everything is alive and significant. But Pan lives on in the realm of imagination, in writing, painting and Music." William Burrough's -- from "Dead city radio", CD -- Island Records, 1990. In 1985, The Royal Family & the Poor made the decision to leave Factory records for good and set about forming our own record label, Gaia Communications World Network. We quickly released one LP and a 12" single, as well as recording an entire collection of new material before the distribution company, (Red Rhino) collapsed, effectively wiping-out our label over night. During this period, with various members of the band coming and going, (in a sense, the Royal Family & the Poor has been a large collective with many different people) we did numerous performances in Europe and in the UK, with five C90 cassette releases, contributed to various compilation LP's and publications, performed ritual workshops and gave lectures. In 1995 the opportunity arose to procure a PC and phone line as well as to raise enough capital to re-launch our beloved long term project, " Gaia Communications World Network", (not to be confused with other fluffy-bunny "new age" groups of the same name!!). Our first new release will be a project which has been some ten years in the making, the third audio release by Gaia Records, recorded during 1989-1990, a CD LP release titled, "Songs For The Children Of Baphomet: A Musickal Celebration on the Theme of Magick and A Tribute to The Life & Works Of Aleister Crowley, (1875 - 1947)". This LP CD includes a free 28 page full colour booklet and over an hour of some of the best tracks the Royal Family & the Poor have done to date. Each copy will be individually numbered from 1 to 2000. We would like to thank the OTO for the copyright permission granted to us to use the Aleister Crowley material contained on the tribute LP, and we would also like to thank Frater A.M.T. and Frater H.B. for their invaluable support and encouragement with this project. We could not have done it without you, thanks! He also co-organized first large-scale raves in the country: Gagarin Party (Dec 1991) at the Cosmos hall at VDNKh, and Mobilee (Apr 1992) at Krylatskoye Velodrome. Since 1994, Ivan Salmaksov started performing as a deejay and had quickly gained a solid reputation as one of the leading performers in the country, praised by colleagues and critics for his exquisite taste, technical skills, and in-depth knowledge of underground techno and house labels from around the world. Salmaksov was producing Bogdan Titomir in 1993–94, even though most of the material they recorded together wasn’t released. He also produced several remixes for pop artists. Salmaksov worked as a music director of SubStation 69.26 VHF radio station, which was broadcasting from December 1996 to July 1997 in partnership with a legendary Station 106.8 FM. In 1997, he released his first ‘official’ [r=1334789] CD, a critically acclaimed inaugural release on [l=Gagarin Music] label. He continued organizing several high-profile parties and events in Moscow and received a Golden Ptuch '98 award as Promoter of the Year. At the beginning of September 1998, Ivan Salmaksov disappeared without a trace. A foul play was immediately suspected since some blood traces were found at the hallway of his apartment building, and his body was never recovered. |

Search | Add | 8 | Will EsCargo | Will Liu | Growing up around the Boston area, Will EsCargo was heavily influenced by the East Coast hip hop sound. He first fell in love with hip hop when he was 6 years old, hearing Sugar Hill Gang - Rapper’s Delight for the first time. Around that same time, he started getting into Biggie, Nas, as well as the 90’s R&B artists (TLC, Aaliyah, Mariah, and more). By the time he was 11 years old, Will had released a mixtape and was performing at his middle school. In high school and college, Will continued writing but also started focusing on the production side and studied legends like DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Alchemist, 9th Wonder, etc. In 2018, Will dropped his debut project “Real Eyes C U 4 U”, that included the fan favorite “Smooth Butter”. In 2019, he dropped “The Rich Beggar” with another fan favorite “In Your Ear”. That year he also collaborated with China’s biggest rapper Masiwei. In 2020, Will looks to release the 5 projects he has in store. |

Search | Add | 8 | Da Hood Justice | Da Hood Justice was established in late 1993, with the support of the "Hip-Hop Radio Show" crew from the Nova 22 radio station, who provided Andrei Vulpescu, a.k.a Nai'gh'Ba, with the first instrumentals. The official debut of the group, which at the time consisted of Nai'gh'Ba and Sorty Shit Stain, took place on 14th of April 1994 at the Disco Calyse club, which hosted the third hip-hop concert organized by Francis Rebelu from Panterele Negre (The Black Panthers). Right after the show finished, Da Hood Justice co-opted Sub Zero, a.k.a Phane Buton, a.k.a Slack Contabilu' (The Accountant). After taking part in the Rap Attack concerts and several performances at various high school proms throughout Bucharest, at the end of 1995 Shorty Shit Stain left the group, his place being taken by Stoe Toxxic, being reccomended by members of the R.A.C.L.A. group veterans, who had established the R.A.N.-S. (Roar of the National Agony - Syndicate) rap super-group. After a period marked by lack of independent activity, Nai'gh'Ba and Stoe Toxxic felt the need for change. They changed their name to Da Hood and a new line-up came forward, which is the present one: Beavis - ex-drummer from AB4; Gabi "Printzu" (The Prince) - ex-bass singer from Sport Sangeros (Bloodsport) III; Marius "Zulu" - ex-guitarist from Nitro; DJ Sonia and DJ Lucky - keyboards; Cristina Giurgiu - vocals;

Search | Add | 8 | Mirza Hodža Minno | Mirza Hodža | Born in Tuzla In mid-1998 Minno was imprisoned for 8 years. The reason for this was an escalated argument with his girlfriend at the time, because she cheated on him during his concert in Rijeka . Minno became violent during the argument and inflicted several stab wounds on her. After taking her to a local clinic in Tuzla , he turned himself in to the police in Munich , despite the fact that there was no charge or warrant for his arrest. The song Ne troši suze na mene , which turned out to be one of his most successful songs along with Na dan il' dva , was recorded again in 2000 by his producer Halid Muslimović.To date, Minno's version, despite its originality, has almost fallen into oblivion, and the interpretation, by the more popular Halid Muslimovic, has become much more widespread and popular. The album Ti si me izdala was released by its producer Halid Muslimovic in 2000 while Minno was in prison. The album was recorded and completed before his arrest. |

In 2006 he began teaching himself how to screen print and since then he has designed and printed a number of EODM related gig-posters that also feature acts like The Strokes, The Hives, Peaches, Sweethead, Mondo Generator and others. In 2012 he provided new sticker label art for the vinyl re-pressing of Fatso Jetson's classic album "Toasted", and also designed their summer European tour poster and T-shirt. Most recently he collaborated with Jesse Hughes, Josh Homme and photographer Chapman Baehler, to design the art for EODM's 1st new album in 7 years "Zipper Down" to be released Oct 2, 2015.

Search | Add | 8 | Jon Alkalay | Growing up in Brazil and later moving to Austin, TX, exposed me to so many different influences.... but it all started at home, my dad was a classical music aficionado and wonderful baritone and my mom, who immigrated from Portugal, continues singing Fados beautifully. Besides these huge influences, I grew up listening to different Latin, American and European pop, rock and EDM, which is all reflected in the music I make. But my main inspiration are the 80s synthpop bands such as Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Duran Duran... I moved to the US in 2000 in the midst of the music industry collapsing due to all piracy and internet, which ended up forcing me to take a new direction in life. After many years in the corporate world, I decided it was time to let my music come out and live my dream. By the way, that is what my first single is about, Putting Myself First!
