Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 8 | Esmereldy | Verna Sherrill Boersma | Born: June 1, 1913 - Died: March 29, 1997. Born in rural Tennessee but raised in Memphis, where she began her radio career at age eight. Moved to New York in the late 1930s, began performing with Elton Britt, Judy Canova and other transplanted country artists at spots like the Village Barn. Landed her own radio program on NBC, working as a country disc jockey. In 1941, she was among the first country artists to make a soundie, a short film used to promote her recordings. Esmereldy is best remembered for her late-1940s "authentic hillbilly" recordings. Many of her songs were comic novelties, including her biggest hit, "Slap 'Er Down Ag'in, Paw." By the early 1950s she was back in Memphis, hosting the Tennessee Jamboree syndicated country show and working as a country deejay. |
Search | Add | 8 | Samet Özgür | Now 28 years old DJ/Producer Samet Özgür, was born in Edremit/Balıkesir in 1987. His interest in music started during his early childhood. He got involved playing the bass guitar and producing some demos with friends in 2003. Upon discovering electronic music in 2005, he became a producer of electronic industrial music in 2006. He released two albums for his project SADIZTIK:INJEKTION with the Hungarian company Advoxya Records. The tracks were incorporated in many collective albums. SADIZTIK:INJEKTION is the first harsh electro-industrial project in Turkey. He received support and praise from many big bands/projects within the industrial genre for his project. He still continues to work on the project, yet it’s not his current priority. He fell in love with House music in 2012 and began to work as a DJ with his own name. Contrary to many DJ’s, he did not switch from being a DJ to being a producer, but vice versa. In 2013 he and Ozan Ülke from the band Neopol founded their electronic music production studio Deep White Records in Istanbul. In 2015 he founded his own record label Subluminate Records. Samet Özgür predominantly uses progressive big-room electro house tracks in his sets, but also incorporates complextro, progressive house and sometimes progressive trance.

In 1961, after finishing a two year assignment with Radio Greenland, Wissum was asked to form a folkloristic group of young Greenlanders who could represent Denmark at the San Remo Flower Festival, Italy, in January 1962. MIK proved to be a notable succes and moved rapidly on from an eight members group with a fiddler into a performing group of twenty-two accompanied by [a3590807], a well known Danish quartet. MIK has existed continuously and was officially organized as a private association 2008 to 2019. Among the leaders are [a11989793]. From the start MIK consisted of young Greenlanders studying in Copenhagen. It was at the time unique even in a global context and attracted much attention not only by its performances throughout Denmark, but also internationally through radio, TV, and its records. After Italy MIK made appearences in France, Germany, Sweden and Norway. The high points with Knud Wissum as conductor were its performances at the New York World Fair in 1964 and the 1965 tour of Greenland.

Search | Add | 8 | EaViL | EaViL was a duo consisting of Edgar (vocals, lyrics and abstract noises) and Nick (music composition, projections, and visuals). Historical and psychological themes both personal and universal dominated their music. Early avant-garde and experimental shorts, the sky, architecture and squirrels were immense sources of inspiration. Paradox was a prominent variable, evident in the use of noise and melody, “dark” and “light” themes and conflicting moods. They participated in the Version 06 & 07, Select Media 05 and Artec Festivals. They performed on Chic-A-Go-Go and venues throughout Chicago including: Nihilist, Peter Jones Gallery, Empty Bottle, Enemy and Heaven Gallery. EaViL self released four EPS: Le Miroir, Phantasmic Seam, Ardilla Arias and Black Queen's Beads under their NERV imprint.

The material generated is often of volatile nature and consequently subjected to strict live processing techniques. Adam Asnan is a London based composer-performer of Musique Concrète, who's work promotes the aesthetic potential of fixed (recorded), amplified sound, and the instabilities of a medium; the auditory 'image' subject to intervention, disruption and disintegration. Louie Rice works with electronic and acoustic systems utilising the physicality of the medium, signal chain and spatial context to create disruptive audio material with a tendency towards a cold reductive aesthetic.

Search | Add | 8 | Les Bof! | After years as a musical enemy number one of the town council of Marseilles, Laurent Mombel estimated that his talents were ignored and wrongfully punished. In exile in the United Kingdom, Laurent, put himself about to find the musicians of Garage that were most endowed within their neighbourhoods - unfortunately they all were occupied and thus decided to make do with a few old tearaways met in the wild regions of Scotland - Thus Les BOF! were formed and after that, a series of concerts left them in the not very enviable situation of premier garage rockers of French language in Great Britain. ‘BOF!’ literally translates as ..don’t care!' or ..not interested!' but do not see there a group for which one would not have to be interested, but rather a group universally rejected by the established order - a situation, we are sure, you all know too well and with which you can only sympathize. Les BOF! play regularly not only in the dull cellars and dusty cafes of Edinburgh and its neighbourhoods but also abroad - try to see them whether they come in your city - or better, invite them to play in your own living room - it will not cost you the eyes teeth – Vive Les BOF!

Search | Add | 7 | Aminus | The brainchild of a devotion to synth pop 80's, house and RnB, aMinus is the solo electro-pop project of Berlin-based Valentin Plessy, founding member of dance-clash ensemble Plateau Repas and drummer of Kool Thing. On his first album "Almost and Maybe" (Zingy Record), aMinus drew his inspiration from narratives centered around gender and chaotic relationships which characterize our everyday life. Singles such as "My Mind's Away" and "Billy" gained success in the underground Berlin scene and reached a bigger audience through the videos directed by Robin Plessy. His second album "Options" (Mad Dog & Love Records) is a reflection of expectations and uncertainties which follow one chaotic relationship. aMinus’ atmospheric & eloquent execution of these themes melodically is exposed in the debut single "Don’t Mind Me Now", featuring Magritte Jaco, singer of Plateau Repas and the second: « I can Try » featuring Kaey.

Search | Add | 7 | Tristan Eaton | Born in L.A. in 1978, Tristan Eaton started pursuing street art as a teenager, painting everything from billboards to dumpsters in the urban landscapes of the cities where he lived, be it London, Detroit, or New York. He designed his first toy for Fisher-Price at 18 years old and soon became a driving force in the world of designer toys. Eaton's work for Kidrobot, including the famous Dunny and Munny art toys, helped him achieve international renown and an ever-growing fan base. After forming his Creative Agency Thunderdog Studios in New York City in 2004, Eaton became a leader in the advertising and commercial-art spheres, and is regularly commissioned by a roster of clients that includes Nike, Versace, and even Barack Obama. These days, Eaton is one of the most prominent street artists working today. Eaton’s large scale mural work features a meticulous, visual collage of pop imagery mixed with his unique personal style, all executed with freehand spray paint on a colossal scale. Eaton now focuses on his Fine Art and large-scale mural work full-time, which can be found in dozens of cities across the globe from Paris to Shanghai. Eaton’s work can also be seen in the Museum of Modern Art's (MoMA) permanent collection.

Search | Add | 7 | Jonn Hawley | Jonn Hawley | House producer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Music and dance have always been driving forces in Jonn Hawley's life. At age nine Hawley learned to play the saxophone, cello, and stand up bass. As a teenager music continued to shape the course of Hawley's life; in the late eighties he began break dancing. In 1991 Jonn started actively pursuing his love of music as a deejay. Hawley drew inspiration from the budding house and techno music scenes in Milwaukee, Chicago, and Detroit. His career as deejay was influenced by the sounds of brother Michael J and other deejays such as Derrick Carter, Ralphi Rosario, Mark Farina, Derrick May, and Green Velvet. Hawley's musical talents were quickly recognized. Along with playing at numerous raves he soon found himself playing at some of the most influential clubs in Chicago and Milwaukee. He was also named resident deejay at Milwaukees Summerfest in 1999. In 2000 Hawley decided to put together all the pieces of musical knowledge he had acquired throughout his life and dive into the world of production. In 2002 Hawley began releasing tracks using the aliases Under Origin and 5900 West. He also established Foundation 75, his production studio. Then in 2003 Hawley launched his label, Soul Fuel Recordings at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, Florida. Currently, Hawley is busy traveling to deejay, releasing tracks on his own, as the Sound Navigators, as Mr. Drobot, and as Organized Crime on various underground house labels and his own label Soul Fuel Recordings. Whether he is deejaying, producing, or running his label the one sure and unchanging characteristic of Hawley's style is this: He will never be ordinary... |
