Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Burden Of Proof Oi Punk Hardcore band from NYC (USA). The 1986 version of the Nihilistics, with original member Mike still on bass joined by Paul Bearer on vocals, Jon Page on guitar and Jon 'Wrecking Machine' on drums. Paul was replaced by Joe for a couple of shows played as the Nihilistics, then Wrecking Machine was replaced by Billy Psycho and the band changed its name to the Prophets of Doom which lasted a couple of shows into early 1987. After this, Mike, Billy Psycho and Brian started practicing - Billy left and Wrecking Machine returned - the band named itself Burden of Proof - Mark Adams (pre-In Your Face) sang for a couple of practices (which exist on an old cassette) - then Pete 'Sketch' came in on vocals and that lineup recorded the 12" in early 1988. And then it all fell apart, and Mike got back together with Ron and a couple of new guys and the Nihilistics were back and continue to this day. -Burden Of Proof facebook page Vocals: Pete 'Sketch' Guitar: Brian Bass: Mike King (5) Drums: Jon 'Wrecking Machine'
Search Add 2 Onionbreath Boz Mugabe - Bass, vocals, artwork Graham "Onion" Neville - Drums Peter Carey - Guitar and Simon Geraghty - Second vocals on Cyberman Vibrations BIO - ....ONIONBREATH.... ....(October 1990 - February 1994).... ....Somewhere north of the green strip of market gardening (when there was such a thing), a bunch of malcontents came together with borrowed equipment and indulged in that common and altogether unremarkable suburban habit - they formed a shoddy punk band... ...Inspired by local heroes (as we saw them) Not Our World and a bunch of others home and abroad, some manner of vision was concocted and within 6 weeks we had blagged our way onto a bill in the ubiquitous White Horse Inn (subsequently the Attic, then a shitty living room with a bar in the corner) through our mentors Ogre ... "mentor" in the sense of borrowing everything from PAs to plectrums every time we wanted to do anything!!... ....The next year or so saw us buffer the bell-end of local band bills in city centre pubs, playing with Ogre, Sloth, Shred, The GrownUps, Ciunas, The Afflicted... and slightly later... SMH, Mush Flubbah, Arnheim, Jam Jar Jail, Concrete Sox, The Flying Kidney, Crossbreed, Dr Shitface, Stigmatamartyr, Life But How To live It, Pincher Martin, the Mexican Pets, DIRT, Slunk, Flexihead, the Spermbirds!!!... and many more that time has been harsh to the memory of... ...Onionbreath rehearsed in a garage, a tiny shed and a bedroom - and subsequently recorded under similar zero budget circumstances - the STINK EP ('91) was laid to tape on a 4 track running through a DCC with programmed drums. About 100 of these were dubbed on a twin tape deck with hand made labels glued to the tape shells. In the tradition of many bands in this genre, the complete lack of traditional musical prowess dictates that you basically start with nothing and while most initial output is disposable, sometimes you accidentally stumble upon that which gives a band it's sound/ personality... ...Onionbreath was never a fast band, nor one that was ever going to moderate itself within the trappings of an orthodox punk sound. The album length CYBERMAN VIBRATIONS ('93) consisted of a handful of experimental bedroom recordings as well as songs that were an integral part of the live set. At this point the techincal aspects had improved slightly... Brian from Ogre had acquired a 12 track desk with 9 tracks actually working on it, formerly belonging to the Radiators! Running 2 channels into this from the 4 track for stereo meant we had 9 to work with before we needed to start bouncing tracks... this way we were able to record the basics live in our drummer's bedroom and add tracks (hide our mistakes?) later... The various bedroom recordings were added in and sequenced on a "master" before we hit the twin tape decks again, and the "unlegendary" sunburst cyberman covers (our answer to all the rave graphics at the time) were moonlighted during a FAS course. This cassette got some very positive reviews on it's release and sold well, although in hindsight, this was Dublin in '93 and independent music was still in nappies, so there was definitely more empathy with zero budget operations... ...Towards the end of 1993 there were plans laid for a 7" single to be released in the summer of 1994 (we even got as far as making the plates for the sleeve), but as we all meandered off in our own direction, the last official business of Onionbreath was a gig in Fusion on O'Connell Street with Flexihead (this may very well have been their last gig too???)... ...Time has blurred much of that era but some fond memories include rehearsing in the drummer's shed and standing in the snow outside playing bass because there was so little room. Bullshitting a member of Ogre that State Of Shock by the Ex was our new demo was a moment definitely worth a mention, and of course the proudest moment live would have to be supporting the Spermbirds when they rolled through Dublin all those years ago. Then there were the many multi-bills upstairs in the Fox & Pheasant where 6-7 bands would use the same gear, sometimes right down to straps and plectrums, which would inevitably end with that long forgotten rite of passage - running for the last bus with a drum kit!!! ...While we were merely one of many who learned their chops around this time and went onwards and upwards with other ventures, the determination to contribute to underground culture in the city (without maybe ever fully integrating into it) and the resolution to beat general tedium with something constructive was the driving force behind the brief lifetime of Onionbreath.....

Search Add 2 1984 Love Machine The Loved Ones were a regular and a favourite at the "Draught House," at the foot of Perry street (125 S. Perry St.) for a number of years beginning about 1967 and continuing probably until its closing or the break-up of the band. The Draught House, one of Davenport's most famous and talked about social clubs didn't last long. It opened in the summer of 1965 and closed in 1970. For legal purposes, The Loved Ones had to change their name because another group by that name already existed. In fact, there were at least two. The members put their heads together and came up with "1984 Love Machine," perhaps alluding to the futuristic way-out sound the band created with a psychedelic fuzzy guitar. Their single included "Magic Baby," backed with "You're Breaking My Heart," recorded for the CBS International label of Nashville. It is believed that The Loved Ones was made up of members Cable Von Maur II and his wife Debbie (Dowdal) Von Maur, Ralph Iaccarino, Bob Teague, Tyson Kindell and Les Bell. As the "1984 Love Machine," the group played Wharton Field House on April 3, 1969, opening up for the legendary band [a215471]. Also playing that night was a relatively unknown group out of Chicago known as [a1355190]. The Loved Ones were really a good band with a bright future, but as often happened in those days, drugs and egos eventually broke the band up. Leslie (Les) Bell became an art professor at St. Ambrose College. Ralph Iaccarino was also an art instructor at St. Paul the Apostle School in Davenport. He was not only a very talented artist as a painter, but also as a song writer. He came to Davenport from New Haven, Connecticut about 1965 to attend St. Ambrose College where he majored in philosophy and minored in art. Tyson Kindell would later take his talents to Los Angeles where he became influential in the punk rock scene as [a322790] with a band named [a128581]. He became a very successful guitarist, and guitar designer and maker. Cable Von Maur started a successful construction business and was still performing locally into the early '80s with his group called the Torpedoes. The 1984 Love Machine's "Magic Baby" was written about Cable and Debbie's newborn daughter Rachel. The flip, "You're Breaking My Heart" was also a band original that was penned by Cable Von Maur. Credited with writing "Magic Baby" and producing the single in Nashville was [a379712]

Search Add 2 Mirror Face Mirror Face is a Russian indie rock band formed in mid-2009. Imagine a mix of traditional shoegaze wall of sound, guitar noise, which was blowing in earlier albums of Sonic Youth, and extremely unusual vocal, sometimes tender, but sometimes rough and noisy. It all merges into a perfect, a little dark and dreamy soundscape.

Search Add 2 Lyrical Pedestrianz Lyrical Pedestrianz was formed in early 2003 with 3 individuals: MC Rentz, DC and Phatty McGee, first releasing a free EP entitled Flobitussin EP (out of print) which was a tripped journey through the brain of each member, 7 tracks of indescribable hip-hop. The EP featured rough cuts of the mid-west anthem 'When The Ice Melts' and the fan favorite, 'the Horrible Death Song' all of which have been re-recorded in higher quality for the release of the full length album Smoke For the Sun. Don't mistake these individuals as rookies in the rap game, each individual has been writing and recording for quite some time under previous groups. Known for a live and energetic live show, Lyrical Pedestrianz have played many venues in and all around the cities including sharing the stage with legendary Vanilla Ice, Tech N9ne, and others.

Search Add 2 Aaron Thumpa Thompson About Aaron "Thumpa" Thomspon / MystikCal Productions Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, Aaron “Thumpa” Bassie is a reggae musician, recording artist, and producer who has worked with countless artists, including but not limited to: Anthony B, Perfect Giddimani, Lutan Fyah, Norris Man, Yami Bolo, and grammy nominated reggae harmony group The Itals. His first reggae album was “Rasta Business” by Burning Spear and it forever changed his life and musical direction. Following after was a vast collection by the likes of Roots Radics, Steel Pulse, and even some earlier classics from Duke Reid and Studio One. In 2014, Aaron started Roots Shack Productions to book shows for International favorite General Smiley (of Michigan and Smiley). This would jumpstart his ambition for promoting and recording artists from around the globe. In 2018, Aaron would team up with James Lord of Irie Sounds International from Jamaica to record various tracks on Mikey General’s release, “Tewahedo” (Zojak). It was then that Aaron founded MystikCal Productions, to expand on his already growing vocabulary in the mainstream reggae market. Fast forward to 2020, under the MystikCal Production banner, Aaron will be releasing his first debut single titled “Murder She Cried” by Jamaican reggae sensation GinJah (Ginger) available on all digital media outlets. The expected release date will be April 20, 2020. Stay in the loop and keep in touch by subscribing and following below. Peace and Love! facebook.com/mystikcalproductions IG @ justapassingglance
