Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 8 Caleb Macken Irish music producer, audio engineer and DJ. A fan of music growing up, it wasn't until Caleb found hip-hop and DJing that he saw his path into becoming a musician. Immersing himself in the art form, he taught himself how to cut and scratch by listening to DJ Premier cut-up scratch hooks on Gangstarr albums. He soon graduated into production and forged a career as a hip-hop producer under the alias DJ M-1. Releasing numerous albums on labels such as Chopped Herring Records and Tuff Kong Records, his music received airplay from various radio shows, including none other than DJ Premier himself. In 2023, Caleb released his first track under his own name, 'Dub Cut 1', on the vinyl compilation 'MOVE' from Mines Clarence Records. The track, an electronic dub workout, explores Caleb's influences in the electronic music world. His music retains that early influence of analog 90's hip-hop production, giving texture and warmth to his music.

Search Add 8 TLFN Григорий Сергеев TLFN – It’s like reading between the lines. Raw industrial noise, hypnotic loops of atypic beats, the howl of synthesizers – it all transforms into flow, like a fog that envelops you, erasing the walls… _ Somewhere deep down of the wires the force is swaying that have created them. On each motherboard as in labyrinths flows of the energy giving life wander. Just like in man, there is a trace of the fundamental principle that allows us to seek a connection with nature in the creation of a new world. In a new reality, music is a cyborg of art, mixing natural analog sounds and crystal digital waves.

Search Add 8 Rinaldo Calheiros Brazilian singer born December 3, 1926 in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte - died 2010. He was a career officer at the Brazilian Air Force, but a car accident forced him into an earlier retirement. He started singing at the Rádio Poty, in his home town and soon was elected "The Star" of that radio. In 1951 he formed a group with Chico Elion (acoustic guitar) and João Juvanklin (accordion), the Trio Acaiaca. From 1955 to 1957 they recorded a few 78 rpm's but it was in 1960, when he was living in São Paulo that he really went into the music world. There he sang on several records for CBS, Continental and Columbia. In 1961 he released his first solo LP, "Em Tudo Existe Amor". In 1962, with Silvana, he recorded "Ouvindo-te Com Amor", which was well accepted by the public and from then on, both singers went on their solo careers.

The origins for her musical mind was found by her at an early age in the european modernism, the achievements of cultures outside of europe and the innovative forms of the underground music scenes (e.g. metal, noise, glitch). Her artistic endeavours also include her internationally acclaimed Metal ensembles “Coma Cluster Void” and "Infinite Nomad", which combine the instrumentation of modern metal with her techniques of dissonant art music. As an artist, she is working with digital, traditional and mixed media. As a producer, she worked with renowned artists of the metal scene. Her music is performed around the world, in e.g. Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Iran, Italy, Mexico, United Kingdom and USA.

Search Add 8 King Dugi Shemar Xaviar Holmes Shemar Holmes, who performs under the stage name King Dugi — “The Many Named King” — is a rapper, songwriter, and producer from Rochester, New York. A naturally curious creator, he channels time, emotion, and perspective into his music — from sunny beach vibes to raw depictions of mental struggle and trauma. Inspired by childhood memories of listening to music with his father, Dugi grew up surrounded by sound. His influences span ’90s rap, R&B, J-Pop, rock, country, and video game soundtracks, shaping a sound that’s eclectic yet grounded in emotion. As a teen, Dugi spent countless hours online — gaming, exploring YouTube and NicoNico Douga, and discovering underground artists — which eventually led him to download production software and start making beats at home. By 2021, he began producing, writing, and performing his own music, expanding his creative vision into fashion and live performance. “King Dugi (Da-G)” originated as a childhood nickname, later reborn as a symbol of artistic evolution and family roots. Today, he continues to craft music that explores emotion, identity, and the human experience — blending curiosity and culture into every beat.

Search Add 8 Boris Barere Борис Симонович Барер (Boris S. Barer) Boris Barere (b. 10 July 1921, Odesa, Russian Empire) is an American pianist of Russian-Jewish origins, centenarian, and son of renowned virtuoso [a=Simon Barere] (1896—1951). His current whereabouts and retirement date are unknown; some of the latest interviews date to 2015. (As of late 2023, Barere would be 102 years old.) He began learning piano at four with his parents; Barere's father, a recent graduate of [l=St. Petersburg Conservatory], served as the Kiyv Conservatory professor and had an illustrious concert career. However, the Soviet economy was disintegrating under the harsh [a=Joseph Stalin] leadership, while antisemitism grew stronger; in 1928, the Bareres family relocated to Riga in Latvia, where Simon managed to get a post of USSR Baltics & Scandinavia Cultural Ambassador (his wife's brother and Boris' uncle, cellist [a=Franz Vlashek], also resided in Riga). In 1931, his father obtained the exit visas for the family, and they relocated to Germany, where Simon accepted an offer to conduct a series of concerts in Berlin. The timing couldn't be worse as right after their arrival, the first Nazi sanctions and restrictions against Jews began; Simon's concert arrangements were canceled. Unable to secure any orchestral or academic positions, his father had to survive on odd jobs playing piano at local vaudevilles. In 1933, Boris and his family fled to Sweden, where he attended school and continued studying piano. By 1940, as [a=Adolf Hitler] embarked on the Second World War, even Scandinavia became unsafe. Thus, Boris went to the United States with his mother, where Simon Barere already settled four years prior. In 1941, Bareres moved from New York to Chicago, where Boris began his studies with [a=Sergei Tarnowsky], one of [a=Vladimir Horowitz]'s former teachers. The following year, Bareres again relocated, now renting a house in Scarsdale, New York. Twenty-year-old Boris hadn't naturalized as a US citizen yet and received a demand from the US Army to join the military draft or get deported; Barere enlisted and trained at several military bases, including Fort Riley in Kansas (where Boris founded a local church to occasionally perform music with his Army buddy, violinist [a=Arnold Belnick].) In 1943, Barere was deployed to Casablanca, Morocco, and subsequently participated in the Angio Beach invasion in Italy. (He fought alongside actor [a=Burt Lancaster (2)] (1913—1994), and they became close friends.) After WWII, Boris Barere returned to New York and studied with [a=Rosina Lhévinne] at the [l=Juilliard School]. He established a prolific stage career, primarily concentrated on chamber music, and made several albums for the [l=Cembal D'Amour] label. Barere often collaborated with such prominent musicians as flutist [a=Julius Baker] or violinists [a=David Nadien], [a=Berl Senofsky], [a=Michael Rabin], and [a=Ossy Renardy]. Boris gave several duo piano recitals with his father, [a=Simon Barere], including their performances at [l=Carnegie Hall]. (A posthumous [r=14337521] CD/DVD compilation came out in 2016, featuring most of their joint recordings and surviving video footage.) In later years, Boris Barere joined [a=George Balanchine]'s [a=New York City Ballet] company — he participated in stage productions and made studio recordings of Schumann's Symphonic Etudes and selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, among others.

Search Add 8 Аркадий Покрасс Аркадий Яковлевич Покрасс Arkady Pokrass (1898–196?) was a Russian virtuoso pianist, composer, and conductor, brother of Samuel, Dmitry, and Daniel Pokrass. He was born in Kiev and studied at the Conservatory. Pokrass was an accompanist for various popular singers, including Natalia Tamara (1873–1934). Unfortunately, "gypsy" music fell out of favor by the end of the 1920s, leaving Tamara without repertoire and leading to the complete abandonment of her career (Natalia ended her life broke and forgotten). As a big propagator of Russian romance, Arkady also suffered from the new ideological climate, but in the 1930s, he turned back to success by introducing Vadim Kozin to the Moscow audience. The singer soon became hugely popular across the whole Soviet Union, and Arkady Pokrass had been accompanying him. In 1936, Pokrass also worked as a conductor of the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure Variety Orchestra in Moscow. After a conflict with Lavrenti Beria in 1939, Kozin was prosecuted and sent to exile in the Kolyma. Pokrass lost his protégé and barely escaped arrest himself. After that, not much is known about his life. One of the last documented mentions was discovered in Tambov archives. According to it, Arkady Pokrass was spotted at the grand opening of the local club in 1949, together with an artist Sergey Martinson. Unlike Dmitry and Daniel, Arkady was practically forgotten. The exact time and place of death are also unknown. One of his gramophone records was mentioned in the ad in BIRYUCH of Petrograd State Theatres magazine, Issue No. 4, 1918.

Historical and psychological themes both personal and universal dominated their music. Early avant-garde and experimental shorts, the sky, architecture and squirrels were immense sources of inspiration. Paradox was a prominent variable, evident in the use of noise and melody, “dark” and “light” themes and conflicting moods. They participated in the Version 06 & 07, Select Media 05 and Artec Festivals. They performed on Chic-A-Go-Go and venues throughout Chicago including: Nihilist, Peter Jones Gallery, Empty Bottle, Enemy and Heaven Gallery. Search Add 8 Contravia In the late 80's and early 90's the Ecuadorian band Contravía helped with the transformation of national music and helped the medium take a new direction. Once the scenarios for bands like Contravía were opened, there was no turning back. With the change of music joined a new generation prepared and ready to be part of something fresh and new. Contravía had influences of the Jazz and the Blues. They fused several elements of these genres to create a live and powerful pop-rock style. Thanks to the musical level of Francisco 'Pancho' Terán, Felipe Terán, and Jay Byron we saw a wave of new sensations and experiences that until today we can enjoy. With the release of songs like 'Tapando el Sol con Un Dedo', 'Por Qué No Ves Si Llueve en Tel Aviv?', 'Lola', and 'Gafas con Caras' the band sets the musical history in Ecuador. In 1992 Contravía released 'Sólido' his first record album and in 1994 his second album 'Luz de Fuga' - with these records many lived an important time in the musical and cultural history of Ecuador. Music that inspired and gave way to other great bands and musicians to be part of the national scene.
