Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 8 | rachid babaci | Rachid Babaci | Kabyle singer born on January 15, 1958 in Boghni (Tizi-Ouzou, Algeria). He started playing the guitar and singing at the age of 10, with an improvised instrument using a can and a wooden handle. Then, he hosted wedding parties, baptisms... It was at the age of 17 that he composed his first song entitled "rouhene oussane ilhane". In 1978, Rachid left for the army in Sidi bel Abbès, a national service during which he worked as a nurse. During the year 1980, he decided to record his first album in Algiers "Rouhen ouissen ilhane" before leaving for France where he found an international Divox publisher who would take care of everything, to release the album on vinyl and cassette tape. It was played quite often on channel 2 in Algeria and on radio waves in France. Galvanized by the good work done and the favorable response aroused by this album, Babaci decided in 1982 to produce a second album (a tribute to mothers) on Oasis Disc. In 1985, the artist did it again with a third album under the name "Tamurt-iw" on Editions Berberes and in 1987, he made his 4th album "Seg Mettawen-iw". His fifth album was released in 1989 "Afrux Idurarchez". In addition, in 1991, with his sister [a=Jedjiga], they made a video clip in Kabylia, under the direction of Ahcene Osmani and Djamel Bendeddouche and produced by Mustapha Aouchiche. The remarkable work was a resounding success inspiring even many other singers. In parallel, the singer Rachid Babaci put in 1994 on the market, his sixth album entitled "Athina Hajven Leswar" and continued with the shooting of the 2nd video tape in 1994 in Algeria. Since that date, Rachid Babaci has moved away from production, currently living in the north of France while keeping an eye on music and his native Kabylia. |

Search | Add | 8 | Michael Weisshaupt | Michael Weisshaupt, the former Singer and Guitarist of an Indie-Folk-Band from Stuttgart, has been pursuing his solo career since 2002. His music can most likely be labelled “Contemporary Indie Folk” as the songs contain current stylistic elements, but also traditional melodies and instrumentation. To this extent the result is both a time-less and contemporary mixture of different styles. The lyrics, which are of no less sig-nificance to the songs, emerge in both German and English. What started off as a relaxing project without great ambitions and with a pleasure for music, has turned out to be an exciting story. While the desire to experiment with samples, loops and various guitar sounds was the greater focus on the first album “Disconnect” and therefor providing the record with a – for the singer/songwriter - unusual, more experimental sound which seems to make the songs stand out. The sec-ond album “Schön ist es” had a surprising effect with its more homogeneous song collection and production. Precise guitar lines and arrangements, concise voices and reduced drums, shape this record, being stylistically categorised somewhere between Folk and Indie. The album “Sag mir wohin”, which was released in 2010, was the most complete album up to that point. “Stadt ohne Himmel” or “Sag mir wohin” are quite simply successful songs with recognition value. “Out of Season” was released in 2012 as a “concept al-bum” being structured around a beautiful string arrangement. Therefore not only are there only pure string passages in each of the ten songs, they more or less cover the keyboard features. The strings, featured in “Out of Season” shape the core of each in-dividual piece, surrounded by the other instruments. Therefore the songs sound more diverse and the wonderful melodies are presented with astonishing depth and warmth. In 2015 the fifth record “Auf Sicht” followed. Another piece closer the roots: Hand-made singer/songwriter music with a vintage vibe, meaning it contains many interest-ing retro instruments and the matching songs. Sometimes forceful, rhythmic (“Melan-choly”), sometimes firm-snappy (“Die leeren Tage) or just reduced to the basics (“Time to go”). A lot of experience and things from the last years have influenced this beauti-ful, mature record which seems notably calm and relaxed despite the high-end pro-duction. Therefore it maybe marks the end- or starting point –depending on how one looks at it- of a musical development which began ten years ago. In 2018 Michael Weisshaupt released his sixth album to date, „Random Karma“. What immediately stands out in “Random Karma” in comparison to the previous albums is the significantly reduced use of acoustic guitars. They had to make room to distorted vintage crunch guitars of various colours and find themselves only in the song "Rain-maker". With the dominate electric guitars, the sound accordingly it is much more straight and rougher than in the previous albums. Also noteworthy, and a novelty in the discography of Michael Weisshaupt, is the fact that all the lyrics on "Random Kar-ma" are in English. While the previous albums offered a more or less varied lyrical mix of German and English lyrics (the first two records even contain two songs in French), there is a deliberate reduction and limitation also in linguistic terms on this album. In combination with the likewise reduced instrumentation (mainly guitars, drums, bass and vocals), a highly compact and dense listening experience is created, that can be heard both quietly and loud turned up.

Search | Add | 8 | Han Epskamp | Han Epskamp | Life-work is a musical project founded by Dutch songwriter Han Epskamp, the name coming from songwriting being his life's work and also stating that the topics of the songs deal with life in general. When producer Tim Ellis asked him late 2009 if he could use some help on the production of his songs it resulted in the first recording, the ballad 'Wonder where you are' with soprano Karen Orchin. Han liked her voice so much that she recorded a second song: 'My heart', which was remixed by Pete Hammond and got to number 4 in the Euro-HiNRG Top 50 club chart in October 2010. Afterwards 'Wonder where you are' was also remixed by Pete Hammond in a dance version and got to number 2 in the Euro-HiNRG Top 50 club chart in February 2011. 'You won't see my tears' then was especially written for Karen's voice, reaching Music Week's Commercial Pop Club Chart at 25 in September 2011. The fourth single 'Lost in Time' followed and now the fifth production is ready: 'Woman of Secrets'. The Club Junkies Club Mix already entered the 21st position in the Euro-HiNRG Top 50 club chart even before it's release. Last year the reggae track 'Dolce Far Niente'was released. Currently Life-work is preparing an album. |

Search | Add | 8 | The Magic Track | Peter Makkai & András Szerepi | The Magic Track is a co-operation of two infatuated house and disco DJs and Producers from Debrecen, Hungary Gio, formerly known as Giocator was raised on classic house and techno, and also influenced by the sound of the 80's electro and synth-funk sound. In his twenties he produced Drum & Bass, released more than 50 tunes worldwide and also managed a label called: Black Seeds Recordings. After more than a decade of DNB, he returned to the disco scene and now he takes advantage of his previous experiences and learned skills to create something new. Gio is a typical INTJ, constantly pursuing and seeking for patterns. A wine-lover, who admires Russian literature as much as Latin culture and mentality. DRJ, formerly known as Dr. Juzztice - grown up on 80's pop, indie, and UK punk - first played as a DJ 20 years ago in local bars, community radio stations. With his former crew he was the promoter of a chillout venue of a local festival for more than a decade. He loved playing slower genres, like dub, downtempo and later he was very much into broken beat, nu jazz, or headz - among others. Always spiced his mixes with some funk and around 2018 he finally fell in love with disco. He is an amateur cook, runner and a big fan of French comics. It was inevitable that these guys will work together sometimes. They both love the classic funk & soul from the 70s and this is what they mix with brand new and recent house, disco, afro, brazil, indie dance and nu disco tunes. Their producer career was started in 2020 only, with some minor appearances on And Friends Records. Couple months later but still in 2020, they released their first solo EP 'Four Seasons' on Furious Mandrill Records. Their first little successes, came in early 2021, when their second Furious Mandrill EP reached the TOP 10 at Junodownload and it was sitting there for more than two weeks. By that time their music was supported by Fingerman, Pete Herbert, The Funk District, Stephen Richards, Mannix, Paul Older, Igor Gonya and they made a lot of nice friendships which was a great catalyst on their productivity. They appeared again on toplists several times and made some nice releases on Spa In Disco, Tropical Disco Records or Masterworks Music. Their latest digital EP was released on Hot Digits Music in July and also made it into the TOP100 on Junodownload. And what's more: some of their latest tunes were hit the record stores as well, as they released on Daje Funk Records, Legofunk, and on The Very Polish Cut outs. Next magic music is coming soon on Samosa Records, Furious Mandrill Records, Spa In Disco and more... |

A decade ago when I was learning about what it means to be a professional photographer, I was advised to pick a style of photography and stick to it. I never quite figured out how to pull that off, and thank goodness for that. Now my days are never dull (except for when I want them to be of course), they are filled with weddings and portraiture and touring with bands as a music photographer, and creating surrealist art pieces with the photos captured between the gigs and the vows. |

Search | Add | 8 | Hamburger Pankoken Kapelle | Until the 1950s, Pankokenkapelle was a type of bands that roamed the streets of Hamburg (Germany) and made music to solicit money from passers-by and residents. As a rule, they were quartets, sometimes also trios, which mainly played wind instruments. Most of the time the musicians wore black bowler hats, more rarely also top hats. Their fixed routes through certain parts of the city had to be officially approved. It is said that they mainly had well-known Hamburg songs in their repertoire and that some days they made people dance on the streets. The name goes back to Leberecht Pankoken, son of a clarinet player from Krempe, who came to the city around 1850 and founded (instead of a brass orchestra) the first Pankokenkapelle.

Search | Add | 8 | Skanbino Mob | One of hip-hop's grimmest examples of truly living the thug life, Flint, MI's Skanbino Mob released two hardcore and bleak albums that made a considerable regional impact before the duo was murdered in two separate incidents, only three days apart. Skanbino members Bone Skanless (born Deion J.L. Smith) and Young Kee (born Marcus Mosley) first came on the scene in 1999 with Playin' for Real on the independent label Hitman. Their second album, "Playin fa Keeps", appeared on the much higher-profile Tommy Boy in 2000, but failed to lift the duo above cult status. A year later, Young Kee would receive a year probation after being caught with a concealed weapon during a drug bust. In 2002, Bone Skanless would be in front of a judge on murder and weapons charges related to the 2001 death of a Flint man, but he was eventually acquitted. On July 28, 2006, Bone Skanless was gunned down in front of his mother's home. Three days later, Young Kee was shot in the head and dropped off in front of his aunt's house.

Search | Add | 8 | Los Angeles Police Band | The Los Angeles Police Concert Band | The LAPD Concert Band (also known as "L.A.'s OWN") was formed in 1914 as the official band of the Los Angeles Police Department and the City of Los Angeles. Originally made up entirely of sworn officers, it played regularly for police recruit graduations, and a wide number of police and civic functions. After WWII, soon-to-become LAPD officer, [a306698], had worked as a commercial pilot. Roddenberry, who is best remembered for creating the original Star Trek television series, had been raised in Los Angeles, where his father had been an LAPD officer. Since a boy, he had also known William H. Parker, who would become Chief of Police. Roddenberry decided his own future should be as a television writer and that the ideal training ground for that career would be the Los Angeles Police Department. The future creator of Star Trek had been particularly impressed with Parker’s openness to new ideas as well as his intellectual curiosity. Years later, these characteristics were to inspire one of his most famous characters, Spock, the half Vulcan, half human, ultra-rational Science Officer of the fictional Starship Enterprise. William Parker died just days before Star Trek premiered, on Sept. 8, 1966. The Watts Riots a year earlier had made him something of a household name. And yet no one — perhaps not even [a278871], the actor chosen to portray Spock — knew that the character's dual nature was [a306698]’s tribute to the late chief. Howard Jarvis, a pugnacious businessman was the principal architect of the infamous Proposition 13, formally called the People’s Initiative to Limit Property Taxation. Jarvis a pillar of bombast became the public face of the referendum — a "prophet of fiscal rectitude" to his admirers. He was unfazed by severe spending reductions that the proposition forced upon many communities and institutions. “The most important thing in this country is not the school system, nor the police department, nor the fire department,” he said. “The right to preserve, the right to have property in this country, the right to have a home in this country — that’s important.” He drew inspiration from another Howard: Beale, the mad newscaster in the 1976 film “Network.” The fictional Beale was immortalized by his signature line: “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!” In 1978, driven by the small of stature, yet bigger-than-life Jarvis, California voters overwhelmingly passed Proposition 13, which lowered property taxes for millions of the state’s homeowners. However, its passage reduced tax funding to the LAPD, which meant that active police officers were required to dedicate their duty hours exclusively to enforcement, not as musicians. As a result, the band was dissolved. Shortly after the band dissolved, a group of civic leaders headed by theater owner, Bob Ahmanson, and [a306698], formed an all-volunteer band under the direction of John Campbell. Throughout the 1980s the band expanded into the 75-member ensemble it is today. Many of its members are well-known professional artists who play in local symphonies, big bands, and as studio musicians. We also feature a cadre of experienced amateur musicians, many of whom are retired from professions in the law, medicine, and education. Now under the direction of Maestro Richard Allen, the band is poised to reach out to the communities within the City of Los Angeles and beyond on behalf of the LAPD, having been designated "LA's OWN." |

Davidson, Sr. | James "Jaime" Alexander Davidson, Sr. (a/k/a “Gringo ‘The Original'”), according to his new autobiography entitled, "Visionary: Rise and Fall of the Reggaeton Man...Fame Comes at a Steep Price", is the “ORIGINAL FOUNDER OF THE CULTURE OF REGGAETON then known as "Reggae in Spanish", “recorded in Brooklyn, New York with his Dancehall Reggae team called “BABYQUAKE HI-POWER" is a Panamanian artist who preceded El General and Nando Boom, being "the only Panamanian” in the HEART OF THE DANCEHALL REGGAE of the early 80’s, singing for ”EARTHQUAKE HI-POWER “and in 1984 starting his own sound system of music known as “BABYQUAKE HI-POWER” representing all of Latin America with the “great power of the Panamanian culture” against other sounds who were playing their music--countries and cultures such as: Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad, Grenada, Canada, England and America, etc.., to name some, in a non-competing numbers and / or very intense innovative music. In 1985 with the grace of God, Babyquake's first live clash to promote the culture of Hip-Hop/Reggae called “LADI-DADI-MEETS-SLIM Thing” at the Sunset Club Paradise on Flatbush and Caton Avenue was a win for the sound system. In 1986, their victory was repeated in the Biltmore Ballroom winning the No. 1 place to represent the whole area of Flatbush against the 4 best teams in Dancehall Reggae in that area during that time. The General and Nando Boom followed me to New York to work with Jamaican producers, Carl Miller of VP Records in Jamaica, Queens and Carlton “Rohan” Barrett of SuperPower Records in Brooklyn, New York. The ground was “VERY WELL PAVED” by my “SACRIFICES AND RESPECT IN THE STAGE OF DANCEHALL REGGAE” The Jamaican and American public, etc., “ACCEPTED THE REGGAE IN SPANISH” that evolved like any other music to REGGAETON! where the public was saying, “I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE (GRINGO / JAIME RANKS, in the 80’s), is saying, but it sounds good!” In 1991, Jaime Ranks was successful in a competition with another team called "Nuclear Atomic Hi-Power" with Shaggy (aka Mr. Boombastic) and other BabyQuake artists: Screechie Dan, James Bond, Coolie Ranx; and the late Louie Ranks who was famous from his hit, “TYPEWRITER”. (He was known to many as “OX” on American movie called “Belly”). Hip-Hop's Naz and DMX were there to witness this victory. Back then, the majority of Jaime's songs were written in English and Spanish. Jaime recorded the first songs mixed with Reggae, Hip-Hop, Calypso, Merengue, Salsa, Dancehall Reggae, and Christmas music (with: Henry Hierro, Henry Castro and Ledesma). Producers like Mr. Doo (famous for the success of Coco Tea “Rikers Island”) and Orlando Lee (who traveled from Panama, leaving his business to the World Music Distributor USA to record my production, “DONDE LO CONSEGUISTE”. This song was the inspiration for the culture of Reggaeton. My first CD was completed in Kingston, Jamaica, January 1992, signed with J & N Records (Juan And Nelson) and Sony Discos. Every time someone suggests that Reggaeton was born in Puerto Rico and/or other countries, those suggestions would fall rather quickly once Jaime explains the “Review of the ‘DNA'” of the album's two original tracks. Reggaeton was born in Brooklyn, New York--“GRAN PODER DE LA CULTURE DE PANAMA!" These two tracks are: TRAILER LLENO DE GUIALES (Gringo “The Original”) and "Vengo Caliente". "Vengo Caliente" was by Gringo The Original's artist, Tito “The Town Crier,”. Jaime co-wrote and trained the singer to rap right in the recording studio at the time of recording. "We made an enormous contribution to the music industry with a new genre," Jaime stated. In an exciting turn of events, Jaime "El Gringo Original" Davidson's prison sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump in Trump's last day at the White House. Jaime is currently working very hard on causes which he has championed while he was incarcerated and getting a crash course of how the world has changed in the last 29 years! Jaime thanks his family, friends and fans for their continued support as the #freegringomovement has begun its next phase. |

RedRog released their debut single "Aktion" in 2010. They evolved into a fusion of pop and electro rock. Metropolitan vibes of Berlin, Paris, Barcelona and New York, as well as music from the 1980s to today are their sources of inspiration. RedRog had quite a beautiful success in the dance-electro community. They have also fans in the Leather-BDSM scene, due to their explicit look including leather harnesses and latex outfits. In 2013, the band finally went on hiatus and Bulrøg officially started a full solo carreer.

Search | Add | 8 | Jimmy Reeves Jr. | Blues singer and guitarist, who recorded an LP for Chess/Checker in Chicago, Illinois, in 1970. It's not easy to find info about Jimmy Reeves Jr. The following article sheds some light on the album - "One other session [from Walter Horton] that merits attention from this period is a Chess LP done under the name of guitarist Jimmy Reeves Jr., who as his name alludes, was a young Jimmy Reed lookalike and soundalike, complete with a photograph of rack mounted harmonica around his neck. The session was a straight Willie Dixon affair that featured a few Reed titles and a lot of Willie's songbook. Fortunately, M.T. Murphy was the lead guitarist and Shakey [Walter Horton] performed some outstanding sympathetic backing in tandem with pianist Lafayette Leake or Sunnyland Slim. Reeves Jr., the star of the session, was relegated to vocals. This session appeared only briefly on vinyl, then disappeared presumably due to poor sales, and a lingering aftertaste of bad Jimmy Reed clones that had exhausted their market attraction. This type of session is a good example of how a mediocre artist (Reeves Jr.) can be rescued from oblivion by a good backing group, a task that Walter Horton handled measurably, several times during his career". - from http://www.ilpopolodelblues.com/bman/horton.html
