Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Graupan – a legendary Icelandic psychedelic-doom-impro-punk quartet from Iceland, known for having a decisive influence on the music of Sigur Rós.

Search Add 2 Benjamin B. Bauer Benjamin Baumzweiger Bauer Benjamin B. Bauer, né Baumzweiger (26 June 1913, Odessa, Russian Empire {Ukraine} — 31 March 1979, Stamford, Connecticut) was a distinguished American acoustic engineer, inventor, researcher, and educator, Fellow of the [l=Audio Engineering Society], [l=IEEE] (and one of its predecessors, IRE), and the Acoustical Society of America. Best known for his commercial work at [l=Shure] (1936–1957) and [l=CBS Laboratories] / [l=CBS Technology Center] (1957–1978), where Bauer received over fifty patents and worked on such well-known technology and products as "Unidyne" microphones and "SQ Quadraphonic" four-channel LP format. He authored numerous papers and served as a Visiting Professor of Engineering Acoustics at [l=Penn State University], as well as lecturing on acoustics and research administration at various institutions in the US and abroad. Born in the Russian Empire (now part of Ukraine), Benny Baumzweiger spent his childhood in Cuba, where his family immigrated in 1917, fleeing the communist revolution. In 1930, seventeen-year-old Benjamin moved to the United States to pursue higher education. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Electrical Engineering from [l=Pratt Institute] (1932) and a Master's in Electrical Engineering from the [l=University Of Cincinnati] (1937), followed by postgraduate studies at [l=The University of Chicago] and [l=Northwestern University]. Benjamin's career began in 1936, when he joined a newly established work/study co-op internship at Shure Brothers, Inc., a small manufacturer of microphones, phonograph cartridges, and other audio equipment in Evanston, Illinois. (Shure's chief engineer, Ralph P. Glover, was a University of Cincinnati alumnus; thus, he turned to his alma mater to scout talented undergraduates.) Benjamin remained at Shure for many years, subsequently promoted to Chief Engineer in 1940 and Vice President & Director of Engineering in 1950. He naturalized as a US citizen in 1941, changing his surname to Bauer (and adopting "Baumzweiger" as a middle name). In 1957, Bauer joined [l=CBS Inc.] as Vice President of Acoustics & Magnetics at [l=CBS Laboratories] in Stamford, Connecticut. Under his direction, the R&D center excelled as a broadly recognized nationwide leader in applied acoustical technology. Most notably, Benjamin Bauer directly supervised the development of the SQ Quadraphonic "matrix" 4-channel encoding system for vinyl records and broadcasting, based on the research by musician and audio engineer Peter Scheiber (1935—2023). Between 1975 and 1978, Benjamin B. Bauer served as Vice President and General Manager of the newly formed [l=CBS Technology Center], successor to CBS Labs. After retirement, he remained active as a consultant while operating his own company, Audio-Metric Laboratories, Inc. (est. May 1976).

Search Add 2 Dull Entertainment Programme DEP rose from the ashes/inactivity of MINORITY, which was one of the focal points of the Kuantan scene in the early 90s and played numerous times in KL including gracing the now legendary stage at Piccadilly, Damansara. Dull Entertainment Programme came out of that and played its first show in 1995. After releasing a slew of demos and an EP, gigging around generally being active, including running their own label, DEP faded into the ether in 2002. It started with a band called Minority back in 1990 in Kuantan, Pahang. The band consists of Pete (guitar), Acai (bass), Puyu (vocal) and Naen (drums). After been playing covers (from The Ramones, Ear Damage, Sub-Society, Dead Kennedys, Buzzcocks, Sex Pistols and Misfits, just to name a few) for some time, Pete (who’s a kid brother for Ili and Abang from The Pilgrims) decided that they should do their own songs. With RM70, they recorded an 8 songs demo entitled “Quantity Doesn’t Matter” sometime between 91-92. Been gigging at only a few venues (including funfairs) in Kuantan and Temerloh and the most memorable one, supporting The Pilgrims in “Away From The Numbers” at Picaddily, Damansara PJ, together with Future Primitives and The Stone Crows and few other bands. In between this active progression of Minority, Acai had been approached by Wan (Spirit Alcohol) to do a side project band, which was yet to be named. The idea was discussed, when Acai was supporting Wan, playing bass for his rehearsal tape project. They jammed a few sessions with Wan on guitars, Acai on bass and the drummer(who if not mistaken) was Wan’s cousin. At times, they will be joined by Shahril (By Side Off) on guitar and Wan will be on drums. The band didn’t last long mainly because of lost of direction or maybe… lost interest. However, the idea of forming a band with Wan didn’t end there, as Acai feels it’s important that, besides Minority… Kuantan needs another active band to bloom… By the agreement (and by the power of GreySkull) of Acai on guitar and vocals, Tojeng on bass and Wan on drums, DEP started to venture the nasty world of the underground (intended to make it sounds dramatic)… Back to Minority, circa 94 – 95, they seemed had lost their touches and senses when everyone in the band was particularly busy with their lives. Pete had been into lots of Islamic learning and been devoting himself extremely towards this direction. Naen was rarely to be found available as most of the times engaged with his SUKMA shooting activities/trainings. Puyu will only be around if Naen and Pete are present. This left Acai with no time to waste and get DEP to be in full force that very instant. DEP had made it’s debut appearance at TMS Dangdut Disco, Kuantan in 95. They had also supported Carburetor Dung together with few other bands at the same venue. During this active time, DEP has an avid follower who never fail to attend to their shows and even during their practise sessions. His name is Panther and he joined them on bass replacing Tojeng who later took 2nd guitar. They became more powerful than ever. From there, they have been actively gigging (around KL and Kuantan) and writing new materials and later decided to cut a self-released/self-titled EP in 96 at Bach & Traz Studio in Bangsar, KL. Few months after the EP was released, Wan suddenly decided to leave DEP due to some personal reasons. Fortunately, the emptiness was immediately filled by Little Jam’s Asma, and DEP was back on track again. They managed to cut another release entitled ‘Dullaby’ around September 99 at Zanzibar Magic Studio, in Ampang KL. An 8 songs (plus 2 short intro and outro) release and was produced collaboratively between Oz Yusof (Naked Butterfly) and DEP. They still did some shows up till 2002 and later became less and less active. Circa 2003-2007 they were almost on a hiatus. But make no mistake…they had never leave the scene, but only remain dormant and…DULL!!!

Search Add 2 Who's To Blame? Melbourne based melodic punk band and 3AW talk back tormentors from the late 90's to early 2000's. We took mediocrity to new heights with our bumbling shows and relentless prank calls to 3AW. We had some good songs and we had some average songs, we played lots of shows and played with some great bands. We broke up for awhile and then did a reunion show 10 years later and then again 10 years after that. We might write and record some new music one day, but we are pretty lazy and not very organised so don't hold your breath. If you like mediocrity at best then you are in the right place. Feel free to come to our facebook page and leave some abuse.

Search Add 2 Julie's Syrup Disbanded (active from 2014-2017): Julie's Syrup was a rock 'n' roll band from Bozeman, Montana formed in the fall of 2014 and was comprised of originally four (then grew to five) members from the Montana State University school of music technology. The original lineup was Jacob Pickett (rhythm guitar & lead vocals), Jake Williams (lead guitar/bass guitar & backing vocals), Marcus Bendon (drums/percussion), and Jaimie Hensley (keyboards & flute). This lineup released one 4-song demo in 2014. They then locally released their official self-titled EP "Julie's Syrup" in 2015. Soon after that, Bendon left the group to pursue other groups in the local scene and was replaced by Luke Scheeler on drums as well as adding Matt Greyson on bass. The full lineup performed more gigs before releasing the political and pervasive "Pure Gold Filth" in 2017. In April of 2017, Jake Williams left the group to pursue his solo project "Great Grey" full-time and was replaced by Josh McIntyre on lead guitar. The group eventually disbanded later in the summer of 2017.

Looking at the activity as a joke, with the passage of time acquired much practice and experience, which allowed him, even unintentionally, was already playing professionally. By purchasing a model guitar Jem Steve Vai, Florida, where he practiced more than 12 hours a day, he developed all the techniques he currently uses. Later, he started the course with guitarist Kiko Loureiro Angra / Megadeth, with whom he specialized professionally in the Souza Lima Conservatory, creating a grid of Techniques assimilated to the great musical institutions of the Country. All this solid basis allowed the guitarist Ale to come to record the solo CD titled, "Secrets of Soul", in which all the production and recording of all the instruments were performed by the musician.
