Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Skulpey In 1993 Heather Mount and Matthew Covey decamped from the indie-rock crucible of Oberlin College. They then relocated to Trencin, Slovakia, and took up with an emerging local scene with prodigious drummer Palo Chalupka, and formed Skulpey. Infusing the jagged pop of Helium and Rodan with the polyrhythmic churning sound of local bands like Dunaj and Psi Vojaci, the band spent a year gigging around Slovakia and Czech Republic, including and early show at the Pohoda Festival. The band completed one U.S. tour and a SXSW showcase before going on what proved to be a more or less permanent hiatus in 1999. Covey and Mount continued to play into the aughts, doing limited European dates as “Schooner,” including the Sziget Festival in 2001.

Search Add 3 Anne Collingham Anne Collingham was not a real person. It was made up by Tony Barrow in 1963 to help keep things simple at [l104714]. A variety of girls who worked at the fan club were used as 'Anne Collingham' for photos at the time. Tony Barrow wrote about this in the May 1983 issue of the Beatle Book Monthly: "I decided in June 1963 that the Club should have a Nation Secretary based in London at our Monmouth Street address. Until then, fans in the South had kept in touch through [a11055221] in Surrey whilst [a13414875] had looked after the top half of Britain from her NEMS office base in Liverpool. The name of the new National Secretary was given as 'Anne Collingham'. In fact, no such person ever existed. The 'Collingham' part came from part of my secretary's home address in Earls Court, and Anne was my wife's middle name. It wasn't done in order to deceive the fans. It was intended to be helpful. Clearly as the membership grew a full time office staff of clerks and helpers would be needed. There was little to be gained from confusing members by letter them receive replies from an assortment of people, especially as staff were coming and going all the time. So the simplest answer seemed to be to have Anne Collingham as the regular signature on all individual reply letters, on newsletters and on all the Club's printed stationery. There was another massive advantage. The press office and the Fan Club shared a single telephone number, COVent Garden 2332. As the publicity side of things became busier we were not only handling the Beatles but all the other NEMS acts ranging from Billy J. Kramer to Cilla Black. The telephone lines were being used more and more heavily. Therefore it was convenient to know at once if a caller wanted the press office or the Fan Club. If the caller asked or Anne Collingham, it was passed straight through to the right room to be handled quickly. Personal callers at 13 Monmouth Street always found themselves talking to come of Anne Collingham's assistants. Ms. Collingham herself seemed to eb permanently unavailable to meet her visiting members! The Fan club grew so fast that we took an extra floor of office space above the press office's suite of rooms. Here at least half a dozen full time workers coped with the mountains of mail. These peopel included Michael Crowther-Smith, tony Catchpole, Yvonne Sainsbury, Monica Stringer and Macy Cockram. By the end of 1963, Bettina Rose, the Surrey-based South of England Secretary, had been put on the full-time NEMS payroll and was working at at Monmouth Street as the colleague of 'Anne Collingham'. The two signed themselves as 'Joint National Secretaries of the Official Beatles Fan Club'. Bettina's physical appearance at Monmouth Street meant that at least one of the Club's chiefs was on hand to meet visitors in person."

Search Add 3 Discohen DISCOHEN: disco classics the way Leonard Cohen would perform them. Relaxed and sexy... but never corny. Disco songs are mostly about dancing or the physicality of love. DISCOHEN doesn’t sing about dancing. Leonard Cohen once said: To find a door into the song, that’s a very worthwhile challenge’. This is exactly what DISCOHEN does: seeing supposedly superficial disco hits through the eyes of someone who celebrated life and love. Who better than the Canadian bard himself? The idea for DISCOHEN came from producer Pim van de Werken. Together with singer Teije Venema he reworked these disco classics into Cohen-worthy executions.

Search Add 3 Crackerjack System The ‘system’ was born in the summer of ‘98 when four friends came together as the group now simply calls itself Crackerjack System. The original members - Ian Minton, Matt Traynor, Simon and Josh Bader – began their musical crusade as a cover band practicing in the Baders’ basement. As the summer proceeded, the band (then known as ‘Fat Pinch’) started to flourish and create their own material. They showcased at a few clubs around downtown Toronto in order to develop a following. As the summer came to an end and they started to expand, Matt parted from the band on good terms to pursue other musical endeavors while the three remaining members met up with new bassist, Scooter. By late ‘98, ‘Fat Pinch’ became Crackerjack System and dream turned into reality. Scooter helped write and record their first demo entitled ‘Sixty-Nine Degrees,’ and booked as many shows as possible. The main goal was to get their name out and become known throughout the city’s indie scene. The Thornhill four-piece was prompted to go back into the studio and lay down some new tracks as well as put up a website to attract listeners from all areas of the world. The band teamed up with PeopleSound.com in the UK to market ‘Sixty-Nine Degrees’ and CJS was worldwide. With help from students studying at The Trebas Recording Institute in Toronto, ‘Eight Hours’ was recorded in hope to make a second CD release through our British distributors. Unfortunately, Scooter left the band because of creative differences and the group was left to find another bassist yet again. The new CD was shelved and Crackerjack System went on a short hiatus.

The vibe is vivacious and the sound is alienating. These are musical explorers.

His first training was in his father's church, Reverend John Bovain. At the age of 21, he plays in clubs with his trio and is very successful everywhere he plays. Chuck Johnson, General Manager of Rhythm & Blues' first local radio station "XEGM" and his "Soul 95" program in San Diego, discovered Willie Bovain on his shows. In 1969, for Bovain's only album, Chuck Johnson co-wrote several songs with Willie, and composed the excellent "Love Walk", the album also included a beautiful version of "Hurt So Bad". Aside from his only album, Willie Bovain recorded two singles, one on Radio City RC-1000: Willie Bovain Trio "Soul In The Morning / Carnival Of Soul" and another on Soul City SC-1000: Willie Bovain And The Rocks "Sippin ' Soul "which is a kind of" Hurt So Bad "revisited, coupled with a title that appears on the album" Patricia's Delight ". Both labels seem related because Radio City is published by Soul City Pub. Co.

Search Add 3 Funkyard Warriors Raul R., Roman Zaragoza Funkyard Warriors began producing music in 1998 out of the San Fernando Valley, Southern California, USA. They first started as a duo with djelert1 and Roman Zaragoza collaborating a more eclectic funky but a bit dark kinda styles of breakbeat/early 90's hardcore break styles. Finding loopholes whenever possible to work in old school hip hop beats and vocal samples, all the while creating their own personalized electronic sound. Unfortunately Roman Zaragoza left the duo in early 2001. However djelert1, aka elertfunk, aka dj elert, will remain as sole survivor of the Funkyard Warriors, with new and also some revised work of some older unreleased material. So keep a lookout for new Funkyard Warriors material to be released later this year and also listen to resident "dj elert" on ustream.tv/channel/redlab-radio on certain friday nights from 7:30pm-1:00am PST.

One of their latest flicks is Deeptechno.fm, an online radio station that broadcasts selected dubby, deep and detroit techno music.
