Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Full Time Soldiers Seattle rap group, “F.T.S.” (Full Time Soldiers), was formed in 1996 when mutual friends introduced D-Sane to a pair of rappers named Smoke Dog & J-Dub. F.T.S. was originally a 3 man group, with D-Sane not only being an MC, but also handling the producer, DJ and recording engineer roles as well. Not long after, the trio would meet rappers Villain and Drama, drafting them into the squad. Soon, BD (or Brokedown originally) would emerge from prison to join the group as well, making a total of 6 members. Their early 4-track recordings from 1997 sprawled into what would later become known as the “Keep it Real” CD and was widely distributed amongst friends throughout the Puget Sound area. As bootleg copies of their material started to circulate, people became hooked on this new Seattle sound that featured spitfire lyrics and hard-hitting production from then seasoned beatsmith, D-Sane. After receiving large amounts of positive feedback from fans hungry for more, the label and artists decided it was time to put out a real album. In early 1998, F.T.S. began working on their debut self-titled album “Full Time Soldiers.” During this time, Brazy-J came into the mix, putting the group at 7 members. Unfortunately not long after, personal disagreements between D-Sane, Smoke Dog & Brazy-J would have D-Sane removing the 2 from the group and involvement in the project. Hence the reason they were absent from the debut album. Around this same time, D-Sane received an odd voicemail on his pager of somebody playing music with a dope MC rapping about Seattle. He eventually discovered the anonymous voice belonged to none other than their neighborhood homie Madd Dogg, immediately drafting him into the group and once again bringing the total to 6 members. F.T.S. was already partially into the recording of the album, but managed to get Madd Dogg onto several songs and redo some photography for the cover. Madd Dogg is not featured in any other pics because he wasn’t a member at the time of the initial photo shoot. In August 1998, D-Sane formally started Street Level Records and F.T.S. went on to release their debut album, gaining an incredible buzz in the Puget Sound area and selling over 1,000 copies. For a fledgling indie label and group, it was a major accomplishment. This was confirmed when SLR & F.T.S received their first national media attention by being named in the Rap Sheet Magazine 1998 Regional Round–Up as one of the few Seattle groups to “shake things up.” Around the same time, Villain opted to leave the group for reasons unknown and F.T.S. was once again 5 members. Following the success of their first album, F.T.S. expanded the group roster by drafting Byrdie & YG Red. D-Sane would also reconcile with Smoke Dog & Brazy-J, bring them back into the group for a total of 9 artists. They immediately went to work on a follow-up album entitled “Money Motivated,” which was released in March of 2000. Demand for the new album was so great, Sam Goody stores were taking reservations several months prior to it’s release, a first for any Seattle based Hip-Hop group or record label. The single’s “Player’s Policy” and “Lately” received heavy rotation on KUBE 93’s “Future Flavors” show. Phone lines lit up and requests poured in as F.T.S. started their invasion into the world of mainstream music. The massive amounts of radio feedback garnered F.T.S. a spot at the 2000 KUBE 93 Pre-Summer Jam Party where they literally stole the show and left a club full of people screaming for more. “Money Motivated” remains one of the best selling Seattle Hip-Hop albums available in stores to date. F.T.S. went on to dominate cyberspace by taking over MP3.com and securing it’s position at the top of the West Coast charts for 3 years, receiving more than 500,000 downloads and beating out household names such as Snoop Dogg. After selling thousands of units and rockin’ shows all over the NW, the crew disbanded in late 2001 due to internal conflicts between various members of the group, but the classic music that was created lives on many years after it’s release and is among some of the most sought after underground Seattle Hip-Hop ever created!! F.T.S. spawned the solo careers of Byrdie, Smoke of F.T.S. and Greedy BD aka Byron Douglas who have all released projects since their departure from Street Level Records.

Search Add 2 Lauren Heintz Lauren Nicole Heintz Summerfield, Florida Award-winning singer/songwriter, and Gatorbone Recording Artist, Lauren Heintz, has quite a story to tell. She swam in volcanic calderas, water-skied gator-infested rivers, repaired U-2 spy planes near the Yellow Sea while in the USAF, and worked in the dot-com tech wars of Silicon Valley. Yet, what excites her most is stepping onto stages and playing her music. Lauren's musical roots were planted at the jam sessions of her Chicago-area childhood home. She grew up listening to her mother and father playing & singing their favorite country & western tunes. Her musical influences range from such greats as Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, and the Beatles. And she cites friend, mentor, and finger-style maestro, Jack Williams, for inspiring her to take her own finger-picking to higher levels and to also take her show on the road. Lauren has two albums to her credit. Her sophomore music project, Where I Belong, debuted on global folk radio as the #12 album. And her first album, Feels Like a Miracle, promptly sold out after being released and helping to establish her as a standout in the Florida folk scene. If her life was a novel, the songs on her two albums are the plot points of her story, the twists and turns of an edge walker. These albums capture many aspects of her search for survival and a sense of place and purpose. Lauren graduated from Eustis High School, Florida and immediately joined the USAF, then later received her Bachelors of Science in Computer Science (University of Maryland), then spent the next fifteen years as a Software Engineer before outing herself as a musician. Today, she lives in Central Florida.

Search Add 2 Sunni Nash Sunny Nash Sunny Nash began a music career at age 15 when she met Houston’s KYOK radio celebrity and media personality, George Nelson, who presented her a scholarship for winning the Miss Texas High Contest in 1965; she was a sophomore in high school. For her talent competition, she sang a medley of the 1964 R&B hit, ”Every Little Bit Hurts,” and the 1954 jazz standard, “Misty.” During the summer of 1966, George Nelson booked Nash to sing jazz and blues live on KYOK broadcasts with the Conrad Johnson Orchestra at the El Dorado Ballroom and Ray Barnett's Cinder Club with John Roberts and the Hurricanes. Nash shared Houston stages with blued-eyed soul singer, Roy Head, and R&B teen group, Archie Bell & the Drells. After she graduated high school in 1967, KTSA radio celebrity, Ricci Ware, arranged for Nash to audition for Abe Epstein Enterprises in San Antonio as a studio musician, background vocalist and recording artist. In 1968, Abe Epstein released Nash's country blues recording, “I Am Nothing Without You,” written by Ricky "Güero Polkas" Davila, then a songwriter for Epstein Studios and also a DJ at San Antonio's KEDA Radio Jalapeno, the nation's only conjunto radio station. Dubbed “Miss Soulsational” by Epstein, Nash was a Gulf Coast sensation from Texas to Florida singing a mix of blues, country and Tejano music. Nash went back to Houston in 1969 and got studio work writing, arranging and laying tracks, and singing in local nightclubs, and performing on ABC's "Dialing for Dollars," accompanied on piano by Paul Schmidtt. In 1972, Brunswick Records signed Nash as a studio musician, songwriter and recording artist. With Curtis Mayfield’s Super Fly soundtrack trio, headed by drummer, Quinton Joseph, Nash co-wrote and recorded “The 3rd Movement,” which now has a new generation of worldwide cult followers of old-school deep funk. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1977, Nash was a vocalist, keyboardist, percussionist and dancer with Johnny Nash’s 1978 “I Can See Clearly Now” tour of the British Isles. Nash worked with Odell Brown, Marvin Gaye’s music director and songwriting partner of “Let’s Get It On.” In 1990, Nash wrote, produced and scored a University of Texas film, “We Have Something To Say,” nominated for a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award. The film’s theme song won Nash a People’s Choice Nomination for Best Song for a Sammy Davis Songwriting Award. Currently, Nash is producing a catalogue of her original, previously unpublished songs, some arranged by Terry Battle, including "Nothing Really Wrong," now on SoundCloud

Elements of their unique sound are influenced by late 90's and early 2000's indie-rock and modern indie rock and punk. braveweather came together for the first time as a band 2 months before COVID-19 spread across the world, locking everyone indoors for months. For the duration of 2020, Christian, Maria, and Tony only saw each other - writing and recording songs in unusedfront office of a casket warehouse that they got to use as a practice space. Being in solitude for most of a year gives you a lot of time to think, and to reflect. These thoughts, feelings, and reflections are at the core of braveweather's writing.

Search Add 2 Seven Miles Of Green SEVEN MILES OF GREEN publish a successful in-house production with “Post-Romantic Violence”. Cover, booklet and the production of the six songs are definitely impressive. Fortunately, the music itself is in no way inferior to the positive first impression. Varied, melodic / romantic (of course everything within the framework of the metal-compatible), but also jagged and aggressive if necessary, this apparently still quite young band makes music. From “delicate” SLAYER cross-references (“Killing Myself”) to acoustic guitars and piano intros, a lot of what the wide range of metal colors has to offer is stylishly processed into a homogeneous mass. IRON MAIDEN seem to have exerted a great influence. Especially in the faster passages, which often save the worn parts from the monotony, the spirit of the British floats through the room. However, SEVEN MILES OF GREEN prefer the more aggressive style, which in connection with the guttural, mangy vocals, which would also look good in a Black Metal band, moves them more in the direction of (very) melodic Death Metal. You can only wish these five talented guys good luck and hope that they will keep going, maybe something big is ahead of them. Anyway, I'm looking forward to more from SEVEN MILES OF GREEN.

Search Add 2 Sounds Of Triumph Sounds of Triumph was a Jesus-rock radio program hosted and produced by Gord Driver in Toronto, Ontario. Sounds of Triumph was a non-profit organization that produced Christian concerts and radio programs, one of which was produced for Toronto Teen Challenge. Offices and studios were located in the now demolished Evangelistic Centre at Yonge and York Mills in Toronto; the same Pentecostal Holiness Church that hosted a concert for Mark Heard. The radio show aired on WDCX 99.5 FM an American radio station broadcasting from Buffalo, New York. Center Sound Productions was the predecessor to Sounds of Triumph. Sounds of Triumph was also a newspaper published as an adjunct to Gord Driver's Jesus-rock radio program. Sounds of Triumph was set up as a non-profit organization that produced Christian concerts and radio programs, one of which was produced for Toronto Teen Challenge. Offices and studios were located in the now demolished Evangelistic Centre at Yonge and York Mills in Toronto In January, 1980, Daniel Amos and Randy Stonehill wrapped up part of the Amos n'Randy Tour in a Toronto concert, sponsored by Sounds of Triumph. The event captured the attention of the local press and two television stations ("The New Music" a MuchMusic production and unknown) have produced features on Contemporary Christian music. At the end of the concert, StreetLevel's Phil Mangano arrived with Larry Norman in tow, and Larry was coaxed on stage for a song with the band.(Source: CCM Magazine January 1980 and danielamos.com)

Search Add 2 JAZZFX Sylvain Van Roeselare French Deep-House/Techno/Nu Jazz DJ & Producer. A&R of digital label [l=Flying Flowers Records]. AstroFlower Activity JaZzFx is the captain of the space-time vehicle called "Astro Flower". (check Flying Flowers Records for more infos.) He crosses frequently the cosmic universe to give some flowers to aliens from many solar systems. During a trip into the Capricornus galaxy, he meets a dj/producer nammed "P.W.9". This little green "man" said that Capricornus alien djs don't play vinyl because they are very sensitive to the pitch distortion of the musical notes! P.W.9 and his friends BUY (in this galaxy nobody make illegal downloads... the human label & producers paradise! ) a lot of recent human music like Deep House, Deep Techno, Detroit, Cosmic Dub... P.W.9 also organizes aquatic parties with aliens from Andomède called "red fishes" caused they have a red skin and live in water. These sympathic green & red "men" asked JaZzFx to make some tracks for their next after party. Through a very dense fog, JaZzFx made the 3 tracks EP "Swim With A Red Fish At 7am"... Earth radio activity You can listen jazzfx's radio mixes each Monday (23:59-0:59 GMT+1) on web live streaming (galaxiefm.com) and microwave network (95.3 FM / Northern France) Bio JaZzFx is self-taught. He started playing in public in 1994 and mixes fifty underground evening shows where he develops his technique. In 1998, during an acoustic and electronic live by Carl Craig, JaZzFx met Jazz, after sharing the decks with Derrick May four years before. Today, it is a hybrid sound that he presents in his "dancefloor" oriented mixes, on the border of Deep House, Deep Techno, Detroit and Cosmic Dub. His composition work is based on an architecture where chords and patterns inspired by Jazz express themselves through electronic sound atmospheres in which tension and relaxation follow each other. In his own words, he seeks to create a music stimulating for the body and relaxing for the mind. Combining the basslines grooves, deep space chords, hypnotic dub delays, asynchronous patterns and polyrhythms, the purely instrumental result releases a large space to imagination. For that, he relies on his experience of electronic music and his analytical work of Jazz.
