Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 12 | American Standard Band | Formed in Worcester, Massachusetts, The American Standard Band was a five man group that gained significant notice in the 1970s and early ’80s on both the local and national level. Kevin Falvey: Lead singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and co-founder. Cliff Goodwin: Lead guitarist and co-founder. Deric Dyer: Saxes, keyboards, and second lead vocalist. Howard Hersh: Bass player John Riley: Drums ASB toured extensively around New England for several years, focused on what could best be described as hip pop music. Strong on vocal harmonies, high-level musicianship and a fair share of showmanship, they carved out a successful place as a live act. They had an active following and continued to mature as a band over time. In the late mid-1970s, they connected with [l983753] and formed a relationship that led to new opportunities, including producing a number of demo recordings of their material, and obtaining an audition for ASB to become the backing band for [a124497]’s comeback effort starting in 1976. Joe liked what he heard and they were hired to become his band for the next year and a half, touring in Australia and South America, as well as playing gigs in the US. In the meantime, [l8377] had heard good things about the band and signed ASB to an independent production agreement through [l983753]. The band recorded two albums with Island, the first received very good reviews, but failed to be promoted well due to issues by Island’s marketing distribution rights through the Warner Bros. music conglomerate. With a massive recession at the start of the 1980s that damaged the music industry as a whole, the band’s second album has never been released and the option on the band’s contract was not picked up by Island. Falvey continued songwriting and producing music until his early passing in 1999. Goodwin continued to play for Cocker for most of the 1980’s and found success as a sideman for a number of notable music acts. Hersh and Dyer also continued with Cocker and each found similar success as side- and session men with a variety of known artists.

Search | Add | 12 | Jordan Wayne Lee | Jordan Wayne Lee | Jordan Wayne Lee creates experimental instrumental rock music based in Los Angeles, California. Creating atmospheric and ambient soundscapes inspired by nature, ambient sounds and a spiritual lens. Songs are created with guitars looping and layering multiple effects in single takes and combining with layering unconventional tones through a 1971 Fender Rhodes. His goal is to explore layers of noise with self-imposed restrictions. Finding complexity within tones and effects while taking a minimal approach to recording and composition. As an art director and designer, he approaches the tonality, notation, composition and arrangements from a designed perspective integrating tempo and composition that is heavily influenced through the use of the golden ratio, grids and design fundamentals as sound explorations. Jordan grew up playing in a number of punk rock, shoegaze and hardcore bands in the Pacific Northwest on the outskirts of the Seattle grunge scene. Later he went on to play in multiple projects in TN, studying music, theology and communications in college and playing in a number of bands opening for national touring acts. Life led him in a different direction through digital design - working with major global brands - and he stepped away from music for almost a decade. This is a collection of work from life experience, design and spirituality. |

Some have referred to his raw style as Outsider Grunge Folk. Andrew Neil Has written nearly 450 songs since his musical journey began in the winter of 2009. He began to write songs out of the blue following a head injury he sustained in a car accident in Apr 2009. Andrew continues to write songs by ear. He knows little to nothing about basic chords and music theory, yet his music resonates with many people. The most common response to his music is that it is raw, yet so authentic and real. It sticks to folks. |

Search | Add | 12 | Dufton Scott | Dufton Scott (1880-1944) was born at Forgue in Aberdeenshire in 1880 and started his working life as an ironmonger in nearby Huntly, and soon afterwards in Aberdeen itself. His ambition to become a professional entertainer led him to join George Walker's touring party, performing his own monolgues in a broad mid-Aberdeenshire accent. In these tours he often performed on the same bill as the fiddlers James Scott Skinner and Mackenzie Murdoch. By the First World War, Dufton's popularity was widespread in his native Scotland, and he was encouraged to publish a collection of his monologues, Dufton Scott's Sketches which was reprinted several times, even into the 1950s. With the arrival of radio in the 1920s, Dufton Scott quickly became a favourite, hosting such programmes as An Evenin' in the Grieve's Hoose, where his "Braid Scots Stories" would be interspersed with music and song from singers such as John Strachan and Tom Morrison, the latter with whom he collaborated on many musical and dramatic productions on stage, record and radio (in 1921 Scott and Morrison appeared in Mains's Wooin', a comedy drama written by Gavin Greig. As a result of the radio exposure, Scott recorded many of his monologues on 78rpm on the Columbia and Beltona labels. As well as his entertainment career, Scott owned a stationery shop in Inverurie, where he had settled after getting married in 1911.

Search | Add | 12 | The Chestnut Grove Quartet | Bluegrass Gospel Acapella Group from of the Clinch Mountains in Southwest Virginia. From the Chestnut Grove Methodist Church in Abingdon, Virginia, this legendary (but little heard outside the region where they live) a cappella quartet has had a profound effect on gospel a cappella singing that far outstrips their local renown, influencing such local luminaries as Ralph Stanley, Doyle Lawson, and Ricky Skaggs, both in repertoire and performance style. These selections are drawn from albums made by the group during the 60s, 70s, and 80s to capitalize on the enormous popularity of their local radio broadcasts and personal appearances in the mountainous areas of Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Stylistically, the quartet springs from the shape note singing schools of their youth and the Stamps-Baxter shape note hymnals so omnipresent in white Protestant churches of rural areas; their four part harmonies and parts singing is as old as the churches where they learned to sing. (Pisma S Iznanki, PSI – Letters From The Inner Side) saw the light once in summer night 2004 in an empty room somewhere in Moscow, Russia. Its name has appeared of its own accord, from nowhere, and has fastened tightly to the project. Initially, harsh digital noise was the basic guideline for PSI, but soon project push the envelope and embrace all fields of post-industrial. Now (2008) PSI is going to create gloom and brutal soundscapes that put the listener in a horror world of his own dismal remembrances. Neither occultism nor abstract researches are the inspiration source for PSI but awful russian reality that’s around us: repeating hell of everyday life, dull insanity, loneliness, hopeless gloom from inside and thousands of personal apocalypses that are going on every minute all around – all that things without rules and dogmata inspire PSI. |

Search | Add | 12 | Caroline Schub | Caroline Schub is a multi-media artist [b.1990] from the Hudson Valley, New York. After years of living with chronic illness starting from childhood, she began documenting herself as a form of self-preservation and survival. Her work is an unauthorized public record of a chronic illness. These portraits have been created using different mediums and exist in varying scales while pushing through vacillating emotional filters of rage and fear. Caroline’s understanding of her body's capacity for degeneration forms the double-edged sword that inspires her work. Her method of image creation has more in common with the labor of construction work than with the weaving of dreams. [Quoted from her homepage]

In 1964 he reached Milan, the city of Italian discography par excellence, signing a recording contract with Alberto Airoldi's Durium, which offered some of his 45 rpm recordings: "Voglio cambia aria/l denti" Durium Ld A 7734 (1971), songs censored in Italy, but engraved in Spanish, German, French, English and even in Slavic, obtaining a good response abroad. In what was then Yugoslavia it sold more than 300,000 copies, reaching the top of sales, while in Argentina it was chosen as the theme song for important pop music television broadcasts. This success was followed by another 45 rpm records. In 1972, again Durium - Ld A 7763 "L'associazione/ll corno rosso". In 1974 he recorded for Durium Ld A 7861 "Me ne Vado in campagna/Suga suga. In 1975 Durium "Cocca mia/Lu telefunu". Inspired by nature, he travels around the countryside, recording everything that can inspire him traditional-popular music and this is exactly what made him plan the album entitled "Dall' Umbria con...folclore" recorded and distributed by Durium ms M 77329 in 1973. It was precisely this recording project that made him assign the "Paroliere" award by the music critics held in Monticelli Terme in Parma for 3 consecutive years. Numerous times guest in national television broadcasts, arriving to personally conduct radio programs of Radio Montecarlo. In 1977 Durium released the 45 RPM records "La vita è bella/Ma che confusione". As well as "L'ascesa" and "La storia della vita". Following the successes obtained, Fojetta was preparing a new 33 rpm work, based on new research into traditional music, but all this could not see the light due to his early death. |

No one knows when and where Tex Withers was born, his real name or his parents. His rise in British country music showed remarkable resilience: he was four feet tall and a hunchback with a painful history of severe spinal problems and tuberculosis. Withers wore western dress throughout the day as he longed to be an American Indian - his wife, known as White Fawn, dressed as his squaw and smoked a clay pipe. A good-natured man who laughed at his handicaps, Withers was the long-standing compère at West London’s Nashville Room and won several awards as the Top UK country singer, his show-stoppers being ‘These Hands’ and a narration about a Red Indian’s difficulties in coming to terms with society, ‘The Ballad Of Ira Hayes’. Tex Withers Sings Country Style sold 135, 000 copies, while his 1973 album, The Grand Ole Opry’s Newest Star was recorded mainly in Nashville, Tennessee. He was championed by Hank Snow, but his professional career was cut short by throat illness. Withers became bankrupt and his illiteracy made work difficult. His last years were spent as a cleaner at Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath railway station. He found his happy hunting ground on 29 December 1986, probably aged 53, and merited an obituary in The Times.

Now releasing under the 5me-OH! and LS1 alias, the Lushys name will be retired sometime in early 2011 with a release of 11 years of Lushys. Including early productions, and the track that launched him into international recognition (You and I - Lushys Remix). Corey MacDonald is currently working on a 12 track Album to be released mid 2011 under the 5me-OH! alias on Sugar Daddy Records which recently charted in the top 10 on TID with the release "Anthem for The Chemical Generation". |

The film also chronicles some difficult developments in the life of these musicians who have been playing together since 1926, when their mother sent them off as children on a tour to play for the isolated Serbian mining and steel mill communities of the West and Midwest.". |

Search | Add | 12 | Obina Shok | Obina Shok was a successful but short-lived Brazilian pop and reggae band from the capital Brasilia (Active period: 1985-1988) Three of its members were non-Brazilians, related to the local diplomatic community: Jean-Pierre Senghor, from Senegal (and grandson of late president Leopold Senghor); Roger Kedyh, from Gabon; and Winston Lackin, from Surinam - the other members were Brazilian. Their style was a mix of pop with Caribbean, African and Brazilian rhythms. The name of the band, in Myene, means "path of dance". Their first claim to fame was a demo tape of the song "Lambarene", sent to then influential Rádio Fluminense FM of Niterói, state of Rio de Janeiro - which received notable airtime. With increasing popularity, they performed at the famous concert house Circo Voador. Their first album, eponymously titled Obina Shok, was released on RCA Victor in 1986. It was very well received by critics and became a great success. Their next album, however, failed to repeat such results, and the group split up the following year. 1986 - Obina Shok 1987 - Sallé Official Line-up Jean-Pierre Senghor - vocals, keyboard Roger Kedyh - guitar, vocals Henrique Hermeto - guitar, vocals Sérgio Galvão - alto sax Maurício Lagos - bass Winston Lackin - drums Sérgio Couto - percussion Hélio Franco - percussion

Search | Add | 12 | The Sky Colony | Bellingham, Washington Psychedelic folk / indie rock with purpose The Sky Colony were an indie folk rock group, focused on what matters most to them: simply creating wholesome music with real instruments, and more importantly, their intention behind doing so. Since their formation in 2012, the story behind the lyrics of their 1960’s reminiscent sound had organically grown into one of personal empowerment, discovery, and social awareness. Authentic and heartfelt lyrics, intricate tonal harmonies, catchy hooks, and well-practiced guitar leads are what you’ll hear of this group from Skagit Valley, Washington. The Sky Colony’s first full-length album ,"In A Dream", was released in February, 2015, and featured Master’s College banjo extraordinaire Molly Hazel and brilliant drummer dad Jeff Lacy. The title was publicized with blog coverage and radio play at stations worldwide. “It’s a mixture of the call of the Cascadian wilderness and an the 60's psychedelia era” (Tom Franks, Folkwords UK). Time upon time it has been deemed unique. “They create a sound of luminous spirituality that sets a fire in the mind." (Scot Casey, What’s Up Magazine). Music critics were interested in “a lack of special effects, just pure musicianship.” (John Apice, No Depression). Since then, personnel shifts had landed the full-time band member lineup of the founders Kyle Findley-Meier (rhythm guitar, lead vocal) and Ben Meyer (lead guitar, vocal), along with Jeff Lacy (drums, vocal), and Marcus Nevitt (keys, lap steel, vocal). “We’ve had a lot of great crews in this band. This feels like the one, though.” says Findley-Meier. “We are good friends, kinda brothers with a mission. It’s important to all of us to create substantial lyrics and music that makes us feel something.” Now, their second full-length album, “All of Us” is has been released. Recorded by Pacific Northwest studio master Michael Iris in the Cascade foothills’ Bell Creek Studio, featuring a smattering of skillful musicians and friends from the area, the record is a true call out to the band’s influential roots. “It’s kind of our response to both not releasing anything for a while, and how much everything has changed since then.” Findley-Meier says. “All of us know how important this project is in our lives, seeing what art can do to inspire us to come together in strange times of adversity. It’s our homage to the music that inspired us the most from the 60’s, when rapid social change led by art was as necessary as it is now.” Finally, the band played their last show in September, 2020, amidst a shift in the world and members going forward to seek their place in a new paradigm of existence. The final statement from the band: "The Sky Colony were already having hard times as a band entity. Many friend-band-businesses with likewise moderate successes were calling it quits due to lack of all-around ticket and merch sales, and then the paradigm of the music world was completely decimated along with many other aspects of the 'old world'. Being attuned to the way things were heading, we were, in full honesty, ready to let it go. Now, we give one last farewell as Skagit's wholesome folk-rock group, one born with the starry eyes of the bands from the early 70's, to let the old world die. As the core members Kyle, Ben, and Jeff move on from one another and accept the new pathways presented, we are being brought much light and peace, along with new creativity with music. This virtual show will feature an hour set, 10 songs selected from our entire catalogue, with verbal memories and connections from the band, ending with a perfect finale of a song never released, 'This Is It'. We have had eight years of wonderful support from many radiant humans. It was an honor to see your faces while we did. To all of you, from all of us, Thank you."

Search | Add | 12 | Morph.Arts | MORPH.Arts/ZOOM | MORPH.Arts was founded in 1998 after leaving the Fanzine Refraktor. Refraktor made it possible to connect with artists and musicians that were interested in improving the creativity of their work. A virtue of necessity was made for Weissenfelser‘n Mission‘2, who badly needed a graphic conversion for their synthiesound. The first artworks und layouts emerged, and were then further developed. Dolor came to MORPH.Arts after seeing their work from the first job, and a collaboration was formed which prepared them for a partnership with ZOOM, with whom M.A worked until 2002. The designs got more professional, and ZOOM saw to it that deadlines were met. M.A/Z worked for :Wumpscut:, Infact and Nobdrun, which lead to a new contact with the industrial project called Ohrenschmerz from Halle/Leipzig. Many different productions for organizers and artists took place, be it for art, CDs, LPs, posters, or flyers. A meeting with the Tesco Organisation was made who needed a website. For awhile it was featured and run by M.A/Z. Again layouts for artists like Sturmovik, Operation Cleansweep were compiled, including the fantastic patch for Genocide Organ. Innumerable flyers and advertisements were made. In 2002 things quieted down for MORPH.Arts/ZOOM. Due to job-related obligations, there was not enough time for creativity. Zoom and MORPH.Arts was out of mind while time was being devoted to a „normal“ social life. The urge, however, was not lost, and so MORPH.Arts continued to work on. Since then nothing but pure artistic projects have been presented. Personally created graphics for artists, friends and acquaintances are being made. The urge for publicity is not a priority, although a request could/would receive a positive reaction. Sources of inspiration are, and were always the works of Stefan Alt [Ant-Zen]. His influence can be seen at the start of M.A/Z. Additionally inspired by the morbidity of H.R. Giger, who else? Non graphic influences also play a role, like the humor of Josef Hader‘s the Austrian formation Pungent Stench, films for example are U-Turn and Tim Burton‘s Ed Wood. As much as I like skeletons and strange humor, Glenn Danzig, the melancholy romantic from Death In June, and the power of Laibach should not be forgotten! The roots clearly run deep in the „black scene“ and Metal with their facets, but the look is not restricted to only this area. M.A/Z is and was always a mix of everything that moves us. |
