Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 12 | Vital Organ Auction | In the 1990s Pastor Oilfield and Marshall Lawlessness discovered they were both outside a Punk / Hardcore show for the same reason: they hated what was happening inside. They got talking further; discovered they both loved Punk, wanted to be in a Punk band; but they wanted to avoid some of its decades-in trappings, avoid sounding too much like any one group, sound, or subgenre. Over the next couple years Vital Organ Auction wrote two EP's; some songs that never got documented yet may one day be; played shows in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho. Including opening for Fang, as well as pioneering Hardcore Punk Canadian legends D.O.A. A couple years after documenting -The Main Course Is- at Dr. Dendrite's, Marshall Lawlessness and Pastor Oilfield reconnected, this time with the latter on drums, in the genre-defying Kingdoms Falling, which also included Giorgio Archery on guitar, and Oldouz Behzad on vocals. No released documentation as of yet but watch for demos, live, etc. Marshall Lawlessness has also played under the names: Filthy McWhiskey and Wally Homicide. His credits include: Tragic Black, Ashes of Fall, The Homicides, and many more. Giorgio Archery currently jams in Press Gang Union. Pastor Oilfield veered off into performance poetry for a decade. One night in 2015 after work management had decided unannounced to desecrate the break-room with a television, Oilfield walked in on a city-slicker Country Music awards show. He soon declared under his breath: "Someone should throw a fucking brick." Not much later he declared to himself: "Well why don't -you- throw one, tough stuff." So he went home, did his best to summon the spirits of Black Flag and The Birthday Party toward his own, and sketched out "Down the Hatchet". A year or two later he sketched out "Tupperware Twang" to commemorate the moment further. In 2017 Marshall Lawlessness and Giorgio Archery signed on for an album, a single, and maybe more with Vital Organ Auction. A. P. Angry (whose credits include the Red Bennies and Subrosa) got in on the action as drummer and engineer. -Empire Dances with Ashes- and -Serving Crispy Wingers- hit the marketplace in 2018.

That career has seen up to 300 shows a year for the last five years: from coffeehouses to mainstages, Nate has pleased audiences with his feel-good tunes and relatable lyrics.

Search | Add | 12 | Dufton Scott | Dufton Scott (1880-1944) was born at Forgue in Aberdeenshire in 1880 and started his working life as an ironmonger in nearby Huntly, and soon afterwards in Aberdeen itself. His ambition to become a professional entertainer led him to join George Walker's touring party, performing his own monolgues in a broad mid-Aberdeenshire accent. In these tours he often performed on the same bill as the fiddlers James Scott Skinner and Mackenzie Murdoch. By the First World War, Dufton's popularity was widespread in his native Scotland, and he was encouraged to publish a collection of his monologues, Dufton Scott's Sketches which was reprinted several times, even into the 1950s. With the arrival of radio in the 1920s, Dufton Scott quickly became a favourite, hosting such programmes as An Evenin' in the Grieve's Hoose, where his "Braid Scots Stories" would be interspersed with music and song from singers such as John Strachan and Tom Morrison, the latter with whom he collaborated on many musical and dramatic productions on stage, record and radio (in 1921 Scott and Morrison appeared in Mains's Wooin', a comedy drama written by Gavin Greig. As a result of the radio exposure, Scott recorded many of his monologues on 78rpm on the Columbia and Beltona labels. As well as his entertainment career, Scott owned a stationery shop in Inverurie, where he had settled after getting married in 1911.

Search | Add | 12 | Mr Quimby's Beard | Hailing from Sunderland/UK the founding band members Kidd (bass), Ray (guitar, vocals) and Hardy (keys) have worked together since 1983. They started using the name "Mr Quimby's Beard" in 1991 as a studio project and began to record songs. 1993 two new musicians, Gaz (drums) and Eddy Barrow (guitar), joined and the first line-up for live gigs was complete. They stayed this way until 1994, when Barrow decided to leave for personal reasons. They forwarded a demo to the Stone Premonitions label which is specialized on promoting space/psych bands. Not really excepting a reply at all they were surprised for getting the opportunity to record in a proper studio. Soon the self titled debut was recorded - released as a cassette first. Their debut CD "Out There" appeared in 1997 on the Demi Monde label. Since then have continued on with the dynamic family of psychedelic artists at Stone Premonitions right through to their latest release "The Definitive Unsolved Mysteries of Mr. Quimby's Beard". MrQB releases feature copious amounts of swirly electronics from keyboardist Hardy amidst a mesmerizing amalgam of cosmic lock groove anthems, reggae beats, and blazing guitar leads. It's a tried-and-true recipe that the five have now taken to another realm. Mr.Quimby's music has often been described as a combination of dark and dreamy Pink Floyd with the psychedelic high energy jams of the Ozric Tentacles and Hawkwind's extremely spacey and repetitive riffs. But even with these obvious musical influences, they still manage to hammer out a unique place of their very own in this dark and psychedelic musical universe. Those who see them live immediately embrace their music which has resulted in the beginnings of a world wide following. Mr.Quimby's Beard deserve a remarkable place in the space rock genre.

Search | Add | 12 | Obina Shok | Obina Shok was a successful but short-lived Brazilian pop and reggae band from the capital Brasilia (Active period: 1985-1988) Three of its members were non-Brazilians, related to the local diplomatic community: Jean-Pierre Senghor, from Senegal (and grandson of late president Leopold Senghor); Roger Kedyh, from Gabon; and Winston Lackin, from Surinam - the other members were Brazilian. Their style was a mix of pop with Caribbean, African and Brazilian rhythms. The name of the band, in Myene, means "path of dance". Their first claim to fame was a demo tape of the song "Lambarene", sent to then influential Rádio Fluminense FM of Niterói, state of Rio de Janeiro - which received notable airtime. With increasing popularity, they performed at the famous concert house Circo Voador. Their first album, eponymously titled Obina Shok, was released on RCA Victor in 1986. It was very well received by critics and became a great success. Their next album, however, failed to repeat such results, and the group split up the following year. 1986 - Obina Shok 1987 - Sallé Official Line-up Jean-Pierre Senghor - vocals, keyboard Roger Kedyh - guitar, vocals Henrique Hermeto - guitar, vocals Sérgio Galvão - alto sax Maurício Lagos - bass Winston Lackin - drums Sérgio Couto - percussion Hélio Franco - percussion

In the late mid-1970s, they connected with [l983753] and formed a relationship that led to new opportunities, including producing a number of demo recordings of their material, and obtaining an audition for ASB to become the backing band for [a124497]’s comeback effort starting in 1976. Joe liked what he heard and they were hired to become his band for the next year and a half, touring in Australia and South America, as well as playing gigs in the US. In the meantime, [l8377] had heard good things about the band and signed ASB to an independent production agreement through [l983753]. The band recorded two albums with Island, the first received very good reviews, but failed to be promoted well due to issues by Island’s marketing distribution rights through the Warner Bros. music conglomerate. With a massive recession at the start of the 1980s that damaged the music industry as a whole, the band’s second album has never been released and the option on the band’s contract was not picked up by Island. Falvey continued songwriting and producing music until his early passing in 1999. Goodwin continued to play for Cocker for most of the 1980’s and found success as a sideman for a number of notable music acts. Hersh and Dyer also continued with Cocker and each found similar success as side- and session men with a variety of known artists.

Search | Add | 12 | The Sky Colony | Bellingham, Washington Psychedelic folk / indie rock with purpose The Sky Colony were an indie folk rock group, focused on what matters most to them: simply creating wholesome music with real instruments, and more importantly, their intention behind doing so. Since their formation in 2012, the story behind the lyrics of their 1960’s reminiscent sound had organically grown into one of personal empowerment, discovery, and social awareness. Authentic and heartfelt lyrics, intricate tonal harmonies, catchy hooks, and well-practiced guitar leads are what you’ll hear of this group from Skagit Valley, Washington. The Sky Colony’s first full-length album ,"In A Dream", was released in February, 2015, and featured Master’s College banjo extraordinaire Molly Hazel and brilliant drummer dad Jeff Lacy. The title was publicized with blog coverage and radio play at stations worldwide. “It’s a mixture of the call of the Cascadian wilderness and an the 60's psychedelia era” (Tom Franks, Folkwords UK). Time upon time it has been deemed unique. “They create a sound of luminous spirituality that sets a fire in the mind." (Scot Casey, What’s Up Magazine). Music critics were interested in “a lack of special effects, just pure musicianship.” (John Apice, No Depression). Since then, personnel shifts had landed the full-time band member lineup of the founders Kyle Findley-Meier (rhythm guitar, lead vocal) and Ben Meyer (lead guitar, vocal), along with Jeff Lacy (drums, vocal), and Marcus Nevitt (keys, lap steel, vocal). “We’ve had a lot of great crews in this band. This feels like the one, though.” says Findley-Meier. “We are good friends, kinda brothers with a mission. It’s important to all of us to create substantial lyrics and music that makes us feel something.” Now, their second full-length album, “All of Us” is has been released. Recorded by Pacific Northwest studio master Michael Iris in the Cascade foothills’ Bell Creek Studio, featuring a smattering of skillful musicians and friends from the area, the record is a true call out to the band’s influential roots. “It’s kind of our response to both not releasing anything for a while, and how much everything has changed since then.” Findley-Meier says. “All of us know how important this project is in our lives, seeing what art can do to inspire us to come together in strange times of adversity. It’s our homage to the music that inspired us the most from the 60’s, when rapid social change led by art was as necessary as it is now.” Finally, the band played their last show in September, 2020, amidst a shift in the world and members going forward to seek their place in a new paradigm of existence. The final statement from the band: "The Sky Colony were already having hard times as a band entity. Many friend-band-businesses with likewise moderate successes were calling it quits due to lack of all-around ticket and merch sales, and then the paradigm of the music world was completely decimated along with many other aspects of the 'old world'. Being attuned to the way things were heading, we were, in full honesty, ready to let it go. Now, we give one last farewell as Skagit's wholesome folk-rock group, one born with the starry eyes of the bands from the early 70's, to let the old world die. As the core members Kyle, Ben, and Jeff move on from one another and accept the new pathways presented, we are being brought much light and peace, along with new creativity with music. This virtual show will feature an hour set, 10 songs selected from our entire catalogue, with verbal memories and connections from the band, ending with a perfect finale of a song never released, 'This Is It'. We have had eight years of wonderful support from many radiant humans. It was an honor to see your faces while we did. To all of you, from all of us, Thank you."

Search | Add | 12 | James Sammon | James William Sammon | James Sammon's career began in his late teens as a pirate radio DJ on Dream FM in Leeds, England. From there he went into club djing through contacts made at the radio stations where he had worked. By 1991 James had begun to press his own vinyl after being inspired by certain records heard whilst managing a record shop. At that time, the sound in the North of England was the Italo Piano sound. This was the sound James stuck with from the early 90s when he released "Whitney Tune" in 1992 through to the release of “Blurred" in 1996. “Blurred” got James his first UK top ten chart hit as Pianoman. Other aliases he has used are Bass Boyz, Piano City Productions, DJ Friendly and Technical steps. After the worldwide success of “Blurred” (which sold 380, 000 copies), problems at the record label James was signed to (London / FFRR) prompted him to start his own labels and publishing company to look after his own material. James currently owns two record labels, Solo Vinyl and Salford Central Records, along with a publishing company, Blurred Music Publishing. Since 2004 James has concentrated on the genre of house music once again, particularly electro and funky styles. He also writes original songs for his own productions at the hd1 recording studio based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. |

Search | Add | 12 | Skiprats | The Skiprats | Based in the North East of England, the Skip Rats have been well established on the rockin' scene, both in Europe and the UK since 1986. They can be seen at many rock 'n' roll clubs, festivals, pubs and private functions playing their brand of authentic rockabilly music. Many recordings have been produced in the history of the SkipRats, consisting of rare 50's covers and many self penned songs, which are a true reflection of the personal tastes of the members of the band. Colin Mee - Lead Vocal/Rhythm Guitar Mickie Downey - Upright Bass Joe Guillan - Lead Guitar/Vocals "Those "music critics" in the mags call the style of this trio from the North East of England "Roots Music" - the Skip Rats call it, "stuff that's really gettin' ya rockin". Their very special and personal mix of Country, Hillbilly, Rockabilly, Blues, Skiffle and Rock 'n' Roll is just the way the place they come from is: straight forward, sometimes soft, sometimes rough, sometimes wild and sometimes smooth - but always honest. The way of the Skip Rats' career leads upward - if you ask frontman Colin Mee for the reasons, he shrugs his shoulders and says: We believe in what we're doing. Look's like people appreciate this." Looks like they definitely do - almost every gig in 1997 was sold out! Ever since the first gig of the band back in 1987 at the Excelsior Club in Gateshead/Newcastle, the Skip Rats built up a huge following in whole Europe, and are constant guests on the continent. It was on occasion of a concert by the Skip Rats in Paris, when a Swiss Indie label took notice of the band, resulting in the release of the first album, "She's My Baby", whose first edition of 1000 pieces sold out within two weeks. Today, (daft) collectors are paying more than $300 for this 10" LP! This release led to the Skip Rats appearance as a support act for Little Richard at the Volkshaus in Zurich/Switzerland. This was not the only show with an American star, in the meantime the band can look back at shows with many U.S. stars fromthe fifties. BBC or Radio 24, Country Music Radio or DRS III: you won't get around that band! After the releases of CD No. 2 and No. 3 (Move over, Rover/Music To My Ears - Rundell/Germany) and CD No. 4 (Let Your Hair Down, Baby/Raucous) the release of their 5th album, "Sick, Sober And Sorry", (Armadillo Records) marks the zenith of their career so far, and 1998 is going to be the "year of the rat": both the interest of the audience and the media are big. The Skip Rats have been secret stars within the rockin' scene, but now the "normal" audience, sick and tired of souless artificial bands, discovered their rockin' beat for themselves, and today their audience is as mixed as a fancy drink. The Skip Rats are a wild live act, and you can't escape the charm of frontman Colin (especially when you're a girl!) He's the creative head of the band, and his unmistakeable voice - somewhere between Elvis, Ernest Tubb and James Intvelt - stage personality and Charme did do their bit for the success of the band. He's a typical northerner: lovable and stubborn! He's supported in a professional way by Ian Rhodes on lead guitar, who's playing clear, sharp riffs, without taking the warmth out of the music. The Skip Rats' sound is carried and underlaid with the driving rhythm by the brilliant Mickie Downey on Bass. Drums? Nope, there are none. And believe me - nobody missed them so far!!! Colin, Ian and Mickie write most of their material themselves, and part of the success receipe of the band isthe continuity. There hasn't been a change in the line-up ever since 1993, and you can hear from the complete sound that his band is in unity. " http://www.rockabillyhall.com/SkipRats.html |

Search | Add | 12 | Cor Sanders | Patrick Franz | Already in his early childhood Patrick came in contact with electronic music. Fascinated by all areas of house & trance he lived only for this music. But from time to time, his music became harder and harder … Driven by the hard, driving beats he began in 2000 to put his hands on mixing. First it started with the mixing on a laptop, where he quickly made a name for itself in its environment. The level of awareness has led to numerous gigs at private parties, birthdays and some sporting events. This however was not enough to him, because the music always continued to develop, so his interests changed. Then he discovered Hardstyle & Jumpstyle for himself, his passion… The project “DJ Drukktechnik” was born. Hard beats, Rhythmic, harmonic melodies and some vocals, that was exactly what he needed. Soon, some friends and he founded one of the many “Jumpstyle crews”, which consisted of many of his friends and acquaintances. Here it was laying near that he was a disc jockey for that team. After a few weeks, there were the first gigs in several clubs in Leipzig. After buying real equipment (turntables, korgpad and so on, he improved his skills. Numerous gigs followed thereupon. He played for example with Bangbros, DJ Sacrifice, Jump Ahead, Patrick Jumpen, Nick D-Lite and so on … In 2010, he applied himself again to the trance and started producing. The project “Cor Sanders” was established and deals with the directions Trance, HandsUp, Electro and House. The movement in the scene also influenced him to expand his producing repertoire to Tech- and Deep-House. But to not forget his roots in the harder scene, he also has an Electro House project, called “Rough Stuff”. |
