Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 7 Århus Musikkontor Århus Musikkontor (often spelled Aarhus Musikkontor and sometimes with musikernes egen booking appended to the name) was a Danish booking and management agency located in Aarhus and operating under this name from 1976 to 2004, when it was renamed to [a=Skandinavian]. History In 1973, eight Aarhus bands got together and set up their own alternative booking agency, [a=Musikernes Kontakt], where they booked jobs for themselves and each other. In 1976 Musikernes Kontakt was transformed into Århus Musikkontor and employed [a=Sven Gaul] of [a=Taurus (22)] as daily manager. From 1976 to 1982 Århus Musikkontor was located on the first floor of the original "Musikernes Hus - [l=Vestergade 58]”. In December 1978, after the transformation into Århus Musikkontor, the agency consisted of twelve bands/owners: [a=Shit & Chanel], [a=Djursland Spillemænd], [a=Kræn Bysted], [a=Big Joe Band], [a=Ballast (2)], Hokus Poulsen, Hus Band, [a=Luna (44)], Minas, Solaris, [a=Taurus (22)] and [a=Baldur (5)]. The daily work in the office was handled by [a=Sven Gaul], [a=Lone Poulsen] (from [a=Shit & Chanel]) and [a=Ulla Berg Andersen] (from [a=Folkstow]), who also made booking agreements for 70-80 other Danish groups and soloists including well-known names such as [a=Papa Bue], [a=C. V. Jørgensen], [a=Secret Oyster], [a=Gnags], [a=Gasolin'], [a=Skousen & Ingemann], [a=Trille], [a=Sebastian (5)], [a=Benny Holst] and [a=Arne Würgler]. The idea of a musician-driven booking agency quickly caught on in other Danish cities, and by 1980 several sister agencies had appeared in Copenhagen (see [a=Københavns Musikkontor]), Aalborg (see [a=Aalborg Musikkontor]), Odense, (see [a=Odense Musikkontor]) and Esbjerg. The Musikkontor agencies joined together in a national organization, Samarbejdsudvalget for De Danske Musikkontorer (DDM), which set up a secretariat in Copenhagen led by the former booker in Aarhus Musikkontor (and musician in Folkstow), [a=Flemming Madsen (3)], and, among other initiatives, launched a national transport support scheme and published the magazine "Rytmetryk". However, in Aarhus it soon became apparent that the amount of paperwork and the requirement for fixed telephone time did not fit in well with life as a touring musician. For this reason, in 1982, the Aarhus board decided to professionalize the enterprise and on 1 September a young [a=Bo Andersen (4)] was hired (with a commission salary) to manage the office with 100% free powers. Soon after, Bo Andersen took the initiative to move from the Vestergade 58 location to a more quiet address at Borgporten and employed his friend [a=Stener Nielsen]. While Århus Musikkontor continued to grow, De Danske Musikkontorer closed in the late 1980's together with other Musikkontor agencies. Around 1988, Århus Musikkontor entered the management area and acted as artistic and business advisor for artists like [a=tv-2], [a=Lars H.U.G.], [a=Poul Krebs], [a=Michael Falch], [a=Fielfraz] and [a=Dicte] (see [a=World Perfect]), and by the 1990's it was one of the three major booking companies in Denmark. In 1999, the agency together with [a=tv-2] launched their own record company [l=Pladeselskabet Have A Cigar] with the intention to support and promote upcoming Danish artists. In 2004, [a=Brian Nielsen (5)], previously manager at [a=The Agency Group, Malmö] joined forces with Århus Musikkontor and it was renamed to [a=Skandinavian] in order to increase the international appeal. Search Add 7 Rudy Rivers Rudy LaRiviere Rudy Rivers (his real name was Rudy LaRiviere) was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He spent his early years in an orphanage. He started entertaining folks at the age of 15. Around that time also, he wrote his first song called “The Yodeling Symphony”. By 19, in the late 1930s, Rudy and his wife to be who also grew up in an orphanage hitchhiked to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, where he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force until the end of World War II. Being an excellent artist he opened and ran a sign shop for 47 year. He continued to write songs and entertain. In those days he was know as “Rudy the Yodeling Kid”. I was born in 1944 and was there only child Rudy Jr. Rudy provided Acoff & Rose 12 songs to publish. Some of those compositions were recorded by Wilf Carter and Ernest Ashworth. The song "Pushed in A Corner" was recorded by Ernie Ashworth and reached #11 on the Billboard charts in 1964. Rudy himself recorded for Rodeo Records. But Rudy was not impressed with leaving my home and his wife, Monica, to go on the road to promote his records and career, it was just not his style. He probably passed up a great opportunity. A 1965 article indicates he recorded at least two sides for Rodeo Records and one for Sparton Records in 1964. His notes he had written more than 490 songs over a span of 69 years; most are all love songs.

Search Add 7 Richard Groove Gabriel Madrid Since the 90's, Gabriel Madrid aka Richard Groove has been influenced with Hip Pop and Rap music, but through a small change of artists like Orbital and Kraftwerk, it gave him a small path to come other bunch of artists like Thomas Bangalter and Laurent Garnier that made him go to more urban sounds where the French and Disco House will mark him for life. This gave him the decision of becoming a dj and play this kind of music to the under side of the scene in Santiago ( Chile ) and using the dj nick " Daft Groove ". Through more homemade parties Gabriel starts to show the house genre with good results, but after contacting people in the Santiago's scene it gives him the oportunity to play at a real club with a good crowd as it was the " Bar Forestal " club. That's how his disc jokey work starts and where it comes more different oportunities to play in knowable clubs as "Cresta Negra" ( Rancagua ), " Punta De Lobos " ( Pichilemu ), " Pagano " ( Valparaiso ) y tambien tocar en eventos masivos como "Urban Rave " ( 2003 - 2004 - 2005 ), "Musica Desde El Oriente " ( 2008 ), Gay Parade Chile ( 2008 - 2009 - 2010 - 2011 ). Though his music creation didn't started until 2006 and it follows as a long process until 2010 where his sound production starting to really get well done and with mayor influences like Daft Punk, High Caliber, DJ Sneak and others. With a lot of work and much promotion, Richard Groove gave his first single called " Banged " and with this he signed more than one contract inside and outside of Chile, labels like Sugar Shock Digital ( USA ) and Agua y Sed ( Chile ). Gabriel continues to produce music as he still gives his mark as a dj in the chilean club's dancefloors.

Her father, Raffaele Favia, a Russian baritone of Italian descent, sang and taught professionally, and he and his daughter even made a record together with Victor in 1920, although it was never published. She started record collecting in late 1930s and corresponded with a lot of old-time Opera stars, such as Titta Ruffo, Geraldine Farrar, and some other rather unknown artists such as Edith Helena and Fritzi Scheff - the former later appeared on the TV show "Life begins at 80" with the help of Ms. Favia-Artsay in 1955. She married an engineer, who helped her a lot with some technical stuffs such as the stroboscope that was the part of "Caruso on Records" book that could cover up from 67.92rpm to 87.80rpm. From 1950s to 70s she made some private LP reissues from her collection, mostly with Edward J. Smith. Also, she even provided some of Mapleson Cylinders that were missing from the NYPL's collection. Their first two decades were marked by an eclectic mix of classical music, jazz and marches, performed with great technical skill and in odd arrangements. In the late 1970's the band's lineup changed into a big band, and the musical style changed accordingly to be more focused on big band jazz with a large helping of pop, soul and disco. The late records are mostly original tunes, while the earlier ones are mostly elaborate arrangements of classical "hits". Since the nineties the band have billed themselves as a "show band". Search Add 7 Galaxy Unit Zdravko Minev (In Cyril. Здравко Минев) Galaxy Unit is a Goa Trance side project by Zdravko Minev - a member of the legendary thrash legend Crash, conquering the top of the Bulgarian extreme scene in the early 90s. Zdravko discovers a new vocation - the computers and it fundamentally alters his musical destiny. He is completely devoted to digital activities and although this is still a very exotic way to make music back in the days in Bulgaria, he encounters total empathy. Alongside with his most successful industrial project that follows - Alien Industry, where he plays one of the guitars and adds unique electronic flavors, he is also the beginning of another emblematic for the Bulgarian club and underground scene names – R.O.B.T.F. Although, the band becoming popular later with the unique Drum ‘n’ Bass progression session style in a couple of albums and many live performances, R.O.B.T.F. actually started in the mid-1990s in Zdravko’s living room. He was recording & mixing mad-ramping acid and goa influenced patterns, layered over an earth-pumping old-school analog beat. This “electronic amok” and the album release occasionally by a friend will become later the characteristic for the 1990s Bulgarian tech trance style that will influence other Bulgarian artists to come like Тибетски Сърца (Tibetan Hearts, etc.) and will overheat dancefloors for years. In late 2010s Zdravko’s curiosity and eagerness to experiment further with Goa Trance returned to the source and he started producing again under the name of Galaxy Unit when spotted and hunted out by the Bulgarian thematic label Goa Galaxy. Better is yet to come as the artist is still active in 2017.

Search Add 7 Upsetting Keys Reade Truth & Jake Reif Emerging from deep within the depths of the Brooklyn underground, Upsetting Keys seeks to inform, to educate and inundate. This time they are armed with emotional, unknown electronic structures that originated back in the late 90s. The audio sculptures presented on this release specifically pass somewhere in a shape between total art form and other, much more subliminal and subdued opaque constructs. Upsetting Keys, a name whispered privately by elite DJ's around the world, is a timeless example of the electronic underground. The project, initially trapped in an era where dull throw-away concepts dominated techno culture, can now freely present their unusual techniques; which involved impossible sampling, maniacal rhythms and infectious melodic content, all of which lay waste to those past aesthetics.

Search Add 7 A Tree On A Hill A tree standing lonely on a hill has been watching the passage of time for centuries A feeling of majesty and confidence, the connection with the sur-roundings and the tranquillity of nature. All these are the sources of inspiration for the tracks of A Tree On A Hill. A tree on a hill exudes a sense of majesty and confidence, a connection with the surroundings and the silence of nature. All of these are the sources of inspiration for the songs of "A Tree On A Hill". The composer consciously takes a step back and let the sounds work for him. Born in the early seventies, the sound artist was mainly influenced by New Wave, Synth Pop and New Romantic. The piano and the classical guitar were replaced by keyboard and sequencer at the end of the eighties. Around the turn of the millennium, he produced several pop songs with various artists. Since 2020, he has been producing, among other things, new age songs in his studio, which are released under the artist name "A Tree On A Hill" and have a strong connection to nature. The first EP released, "Lying Under Trees", conveys the feeling of sitting under trees and feeling the wind blowing through the branches and making the leaves whisper. Each of the four tracks is dedicated to a special group of trees. The EP "Mellow Waves", which was released in the same year, takes the element of water in its various forms as its theme. The basis is the water cycle, which is the origin of all life on earth. From the first drops from the cloudy sky, over streams and rivers to the wide open sea. With the first single "Red Flavia", and the second single "Purple Hydrangea", the beauty of the blossoms follows this year. The blaze of colour awakens when the sun hits the delicate petals after a spring thunderstorm. Each individual blossom is delicate, unique and beautiful.

Search Add 7 Bass Astral X Igo Bass Astral x Igo tworzą producent Kuba Tracz i wokalista Igor Walaszek. W 2016 roku zadebiutowali krążkiem „Discobolus”, a w marcu ubiegłego roku wyruszyli w trasę, by promować drugą płytę - „Orell”. Latem zespół zagrał na największych polskich festiwalach, m.in. Open'erFestival, Audioriver, Kraków Live Festival, OFF Festival.

Search Add 7 Γιώργος Σισιλιάνος Greek contemporary composer. Aka George or Yorgo Sicilianos. Athens, 29 Αυγούστου 1920 - 29 Μαρτίου 2005. Yorgo Sicilianos (1920-2005) is one of the most important figures of musical modernism in Greece. Born in Athens, he studied theory and composition with Kostas Sfakianakis, Marios Varvoglis and George Sklavos; from 1951 to 1953 he continued his studies at the Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome with Ildebrando Pizzetti, receiving a diploma in composition in 1953. While in Italy he was introduced to the music of Béla Bartók and the composers of the Second Viennese School, which proved influential on his later development, since it played a decisive role in his decision to turn to contemporary musical idioms. After Italy he attended Tony Aubin’s course in composition at the Conservatoire National in Paris (1953–54) and the classes of Walter Piston at Harvard University, Boris Blacher at the Tanglewood Institute and Vincent Perischetti at the Juilliard School of New York (1955–56). In New York, Sicilianos made the acquaintace of fellow Greek, conductor Dimitri Mitropoulos. Later (in March 1958), Mitropoulos premiered Sicilianos’ First Symphony, op. 14 (1956) with the New York Philharmonic. In 1956 Sicilianos returned to Greece permanently. At that time, he was one of the first Greek composers to follow modernist trends in music. He went on to produce a total output that consists of 63 works and encompasses all genres: symphonic music, chamber music, piano music, song cycles, opera, ballet, incidental music and more. Parallel to his work as a composer, Sicilianos was an active participant in Greek music life. He served as Head of the Music Department of the Greek Broadcasting Institute (1960–62), General Secretary of the Ministry of Education’s Greek Music Council (1963–64), Vice–president of the Greek section of the International Society for Contemporary Music and the Greek Association of Contemporary Music (1964–68 and 1965–69 respectively), Head of the Music Department of Greek Broadcast and Television (1974), member of the Artistic Committee and the Board of Trustees of the Greek National Opera (1976–79 and 1980–81 respectively), President of the Greek Composers’ Union (1981–89), member of the Board of Directors of Greek Radio and Television (1987–88) and President of the Artistic Committee of the Greek National Opera (1990–94). Throughout his career Sicilianos received significant distinctions. In 1962 he won the third prize at the Liège International String Quartet Competition for his String Quartet no. 3, op. 15 and his works were chosen twice to represent Greece at the Festival of the International Society for Contemporary Music (Stasimon B, op. 25, Madrid, 1965 and Perspectives, op. 26, Prague, 1967). He was also honoured for his contribution to music with the following medals and prizes: Cavaliere “al merito della Republica Italiana” (Rome, 1962), Chevalier des Arts (Paris, 1990), Herder Prize (Vienna, 1991) and the Eirini G. Papaioannou Prize of the Academy of Athens (1994). Finally, in 1999 he received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Athens. Sicilianos’ work can be divided into three periods. The first period, during which he followed tonal and modal idioms, includes works he wrote until 1953, the year in which he finished his studies in Italy, when he still believed that the future of Greek music lay “at the point where Byzantine Chant intersects with Greek Folk Song”. The second period started with the Concerto for Orchestra, op. 12 (1954), where Sicilianos used for the first time the twelve-tone technique. This period, characterised by his seeking of and experimentation in contemporary musical trends (the twelve-tone technique, serialism, post-serialist techniques, electronic music), lasted about 25 years. Mellichomidi, op. 44 (1980) signalled the passage into a third period, during which the composer turned consciously to a more melodic and accessible idiom.

Good Luck Mountain is Mike Ferrio's response to the shock and grief of that event, and also a fresh start in a new direction. Good Luck Mountain is the name he's adopted for his new band as well as the name of the record; "seasoned players", he calls his new band mates, who include Konrad Meissner from The Silos (with whom Drew Glackin also played) and Matt Mays, once of The Guthries, but there's a host of other players on this album which features music that is carefully built - layers of sound that spring from some synthesiser atmospherics in the background and with changes of emphasis that are characterised by use of strings or horns.

Search Add 7 George Carnival Carnival were originally formed in 1992. George Grant and TJ Joyner (then) had reasonable success and gained a cult following penning the genre "Neo Futurism". After several albums "The Analogue Hiss, Concrete Evidence and the Time Triangle" to name but a few, they went their separate ways. TJ Cox (now) has reunited with her old musical colleague "George Carnival" and Carnival are now back!

Search Add 7 Giuseppe Chelo GIUSEPPE CHELO (Singer of Sardinian folklore). Born in Sassari in 1938, Giuseppe Chelo is still considered Osilese, as his origins are from Osilo, precisely from the district of San Lorenzo. After a period of careful and passionate apprenticeship, during which he listened to numerous established singers, Giuseppe Chelo happily made his debut at Cargeghe in 1958, along with Chiccheddu Mannoni and guitarist Adolfo Merella. After the official debut at Cargeghe, Giuseppe Chelo performed in Narbolia, this time together with Antonio Nuvoli and guitarist Nicolino Cabizza. But his usual companion became Tonino Canu, as the harmony between the two was as natural as it was perfect, and the performances benefited visibly. They basically represented two rather different ways of singing, but perhaps for this reason the evenings were enriched, brighter and above all interesting for the audience that followed them with great attention and renewed passion. The record production of Giuseppe Chelo is rich and of quality, with considerable public acclaim, which contributed to its success in most of the squares of Sardinia. His performances have landed in Italy and abroad, with great success, as in Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Montecarlo and in other European and Italian cities. We recall that like Terzetto Sardinian, together with Canu and Fara, he recorded several records with the Italian RCA, in Rome. With the name of Duetto Logudorese, together with the guitarist Pietro Fara, he then recorded some tracks on 45 rpm, always in the Italian RCA studios. Among these, the piece entitled "Mi giamana a soldadu", which turned out to be completely popular even with the youngest, was particularly successful. In addition to those just mentioned, the most important recordings concern an LP, produced by UP in Rome, called "The new company of the Sardinian song", recorded together with the cantadore Mario Firinaiu, the guitarist Aldo Cabizza and the accordionist Peppino Pippia; also, "Canzoni fra i nuraghi", produced by Aedo, recorded with Pietro Fara and Peppino Pippia; finally, "Cantos traditionales sardos", produced by the publisher Solinas, accompanied by Antonio Marongiu and Peppino Pippia. Giuseppe Chelo ended his prestigious career in 1989, after 33 years of intense activity. His performances are currently limited to very few occasions, such as special occasions and celebrations and commemorations of other artists. And also on these occasions his talent, certainly among the greatest of the Sardinian guitar song, returns visible and still appreciated. Info: http://www.cantosardoachitarra.it
