Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 6 Briget Boyle Briget Boyle Briget Boyle's songs are compelling reminders that healing and redemption are coming. With gritty, vulnerable lyrics, pristine vocals, and driving playing on her antique Gibson J45, Briget’s 90s rock-tinged songs center the truth-telling power of the human voice. Sincerity is magnetic and Briget's songs often inspire listeners to put pen to paper, clear their throats, and dust off their old guitars. What will happen when you listen? Briget’s songwriting awakens the act of witnessing. She goes deep to mine for truth and what comes out is a powerful vocal expression that is magnetic. Her sound comes from an authentic way of living and is driven by deep connections that she has forged along her diverse path of music making. She views music as the mortar of human experience that ties us together in ways that nothing else can. Earthy and grounded in connection to spirit, Briget possesses an ability to leverage life’s challenges and make music that navigates them with grace. She creates as a means of integration of her lived experiences. Briget's wisdom is not only to learn from past experiences by facing them, but also to embrace the suffering that inevitably leads to more complete insights. Briget was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where she got an early start in music. As the child of two music industry veterans, she always knew that being a musician was not just a calling, but part of her DNA. Her first professional experience was working in Hollywood's film scoring studios alongside her legendary recording engineer father, the late Tim Boyle. She served as his second engineer for Starship Troopers, Animaniacs, Money Talks and more. She began writing songs right when she was 12 years old and attended the College of Santa Fe to study Music Performance & Composition. It was here that her musical journey took an unexpected turn. She discovered the rich traditional folk music of the Balkans and quickly became a student of the voice and of traditional singing styles. This study led her to many years of performing with Kitka Women’s Vocal Ensemble, Brass Menažeri Balkan Brass Band, and True Life Trio. Briget recognizes the responsibility and opportunities that accompany multi-hyphenate creative life. She is always full of ideas and the sheer audacity to pursue them. Briget founded an independent record label, Waxsimile Productions and queer musician collective, built a successful vocal coaching practice, and has been a key member of various Bay Area world music ensembles. Her musical and professional perspective is unique and it is echoed in her songs. Her new album, Heartbreak Residue is now available.

Search Add 6 Archer C Hostettler Archer was born in Thailand and moved to London when she was 13 years old and now base in Switzerland. Even before this young age she had a very keen interest in photography and art but not until she moved to London was she able to immerse herself in an environment where she was able to flourish and expand her creativity She drew inspiration from the eclectic architecture of London. This theme continues into her current works, which draws a striking contrast between hard architecture and softer humanity. Her work had developed artistically and shows a distinct abstract quality, which encompasses a variety of styles but still retains the unique and inimitable style that is characteristic of her work. If one word were to be used to epitomize Archer work it would be dynamic. She consistently seek to challenge herself creatively to push her work forward therefore producing art, which is multi-faceted and versatile. Archer has worked in publicity studios, fashion rooms and as a freelance photographer for clubs, her photos had been used for cover, flyer in many underground music labels. Looking forward, Archer is seeking to expand her subjects, creating art, which had a broad appeal while incorporating her unique aspect.

Search Add 6 The Soots The Soots were, to all intent and purpose, a result of musical collaborations which revolved around the early work of Frank Zappa and Don Vliet - both of whom had been connected via their attendance at Antelope Valley's seats of learning. It was here that Vliet had been coaxed into his first known vocal work, a 'field recording' of "Lost In A Whirlpool" with Frank Zappa, his brother Bobby and a class tutor. A rather avant-garde number in which the boy (like a dead pet goldfish) is flushed down the toilet by his girlfriend and comes face-to-face with a large brown eyeless fish. The band referred to as "The Soots" existed in the early to mid 1960's. The period during which Zappa was residing in Paul Buff's PAL Studio in Cucamonga, then finally purchasing it in the summer of 1964 and officially turning it into 'Studio Z'. Vliet would drop by on his Helms Bread truck delivery route and hang out with the various musicians at the studio. Don Vliet had yet to officially adopt the lyric-writing nom de plume of "Don Van Vliet" and the persona of "Captain Beefheart" on a recording. Zappa, meanwhile, was busy developing concepts that would get his work a contract, one of which was a tentative 'operetta' entitled "Captain Beefheart & The Grunt People". The script of this being inspired from the germ of Vliet's nickname Beefheart and Vliet's family, 'Marvel' comics, TV sci-fi and America's growing fascination in space exploration. Such inspirations led to The Soots recording of "Metal Man Has Won His Wings" and other recordings in the given period. Some can be found on Zappa issues, such as "The Lost Episodes" or "Mystery Disc" [on which "The Birth Of Captain Beefheart" can be found] or on several unofficial recordings.

Search Add 6 Christopher Cash Fallbrook, California Desc: Born in Pasadena, California in the late fifties, Cash grew up along side rock music. As a boy, he watched The Beatles perform on Ed Sullivan and joined the ranks of their countless fans throughout the turbulent Sixties. Inspired by artists like David Bowie, Neal Young, and Lou Reed, he began playing guitar and writing songs in the early Seventies. After a string of copy bands to develop his performance skills, Cash joined forces with singer/songwriter William Loveless to form an acoustic duo called Akimbo. Freshly out of high school, Akimbo grew amplifiers, added drums and ultimately evolved into The Privates. The Privates enjoyed considerable success during the Eighties playing along side bands such as The Motels, The Plugz, and The Suburban Lawns at many of the popular Los Angeles venues of the day. The Privates signed a deal with a well known production company but fame and fortune never materialized. Buckling under the strain, The Privates broke up as their demo tape was being shopped and before the promise of a European tour could be fulfilled. As it turns out, this too was serendipitous. Dreams of rock stardom were replaced by more profitable endeavors ultimately providing Cash the resources to pursue his art on his own terms. During the Nineties, Cash played in various original groups including The Intelligence, Gadflies, and Wobblewire but career and family were his central focus. In 2004, Cash met producer Joe Ongie and asked him to work with him on his debut album titled Hollywood Mirage. In 2008 Cash released his second album Invisible with the band he had been playing since late in 2006. San Diego producer Jeff Berkley did a nice job helping him make an album he is very proud of. Since 2014, Cash has devoted a good deal of his time to his professional recording studio Sonic-Rocket.com In 2017 Cash formed another band called The Brilliant Deductions, this time with long time pal John Saccoman on bass and backing vocals, friend and Chief Engineer at the Rocket Shea Thompson on keyboards and backing vocals, Lead Guitarist (and Grammy nominee) Jan Bugaiski, and the amazing Dick Winter on drums. This has been a blast and is the foundation forsome of his best work to date. In addition to music, Cash is an accomplished woodworker, artist and holds down a full time job working for a reputable high tech company as a technical support manager.

Search Add 6 Midi Slut Michael Poe Mike Poe began forming his musical interests at an early age. He was fascinated by the use of electronic instruments in modern music and began listening to progressive rock groups such as Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Rick Wakeman in the 70's. It was his mother who introduced him to the experimental electronic tones of Brian Eno and Kraftwerk. His appreciation for these creative styles carried on through high school and followed him into college. During his time at Ohio University, Mike began to create electronic compositions to accompany modern dance pieces and also began to develop his styles as a DJ. His style concentrated heavily on the dark industrial sounds of Front 242 and Skinny Puppy. He added many styles to his DJ repertoire and began to introduce ambient tones and atmospheres to his DJ sets. The Orb was a major influence, which gradually led him to spin more ambient dub styled tracks. In 1993 he moved from Athens, Ohio to Columbus where he introduced his unique style and catalog of recordings to the Columbus scene. He began working with Rob Engel to create atmospheric dark ambient music that became the Midislut project with Mike spinning under the Midislut name. In 1994, he released “Ambiento”, a mix tape of selected ambient tracks, which created a buzz among the underground scene. Shortly after the release of “Ambiento,” Mike was spinning in chill out rooms at many of the now legendary ele_mental parties. Mike followed his release of “Ambiento” with “Project Blossom” in 1995. Mike provided his own compositions at the ele_mental sponsored “Boron” in August 1996. Mike was also involved in electronic music composition in the Columbus area. Contributions include the 21/22 Corp. compilation "Fusion No.5" and "Trace Ele_ments4 EP", a collaboration with Bone Tribe Productions, and an appearance on Black Music's "Adventures in Modern Recording" CD with an industrial jungle track titled "Cycle_7.1". During July of 1996, Mike began to work at the groundbreaking downtown club, Mekka. He immersed himself in the club tracks he heard from such DJ’s as Mike G, Kevy Kev, and Rob Engel along with many of the guest DJ’s who graced the decks. It wasn’t long before Mike teamed up with Doughboy, and spun “Twilight Sundaze,” where he played Chicago house and techno. Mike made Mekka his home for over four years, and attributes much of his appreciation and love for the music to his stay there. Beginning in 1998, Mike made guest appearances at Red Zone and played at many of the “Clockwork Sundaze” events that have made Doughboy famous. He opened for many of the DJ world superstars, such as Josh Wink, Marco Carolla, Charles Feelgood, and Terry Lee Brown Jr. Mike also held simultaneous residencies at both FM and Clique through the Millennium. In December of 2000, Mike traveled to Germany and played two New Years dates in Jena and Altenburg. Upon returning to the states, Mike teamed up with Kate Hazelbaker to start “Barcelona DJs@11,” which blended the eclectic tastes of a tapas restaurant with deep house and lounge style tracks. Mike currently holds residency at Eleven Restaurant and Lounge, spinning deep and tech house. He is a member of the Quality! crew often sharing the decks with his mates Jason Lyman, Jeff Pongonis, and Steve Keck.

She debuted in 1999 and sold her first album over 300,000 copies and her second album over 300,000 copies. After she debuted in Korea, she regularly had more than 1,000 live performances per year, and radio and TV shows appearances. She released 6 studio albums (Korean), 2 studio albums (Japanese), and 2 single albums, and recorded multiple movie and television soundtracks. Marty Friedman, the guitarist of Megadeath, also featured her second Japanese album. Besides her recordings, she was casted as Yitzhak, the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Acid Queen, and the musical The Who's Tommy in both Korea and Japan for many years. She is the first and only Asian Berklee student who was selected to perform for both "Singer's Night" and "Singer's Showcase" in front of over a thousand audiences at Berklee Performance Center for multiple times. In 2012, she appeared a Korean TV show, I Am a Singer 2, where selected veteran Korean singers by advisory panels perform and compete each other. This sensational concept raised the Korean music scene to a higher level, and let the audiences truly focus on authenticity and quality of the music and the vocalist. Chinese broadcasting company adapted this show, which made a huge success in China. Seomoon Tak survived for five months and she made the final round of the entire season of the show. As she released her second single in summer 2013, she started a project band, Seomoon Tak Band. This January, Seomoon Tak Band successfully had their solo concert in South Korea.

Search Add 6 Dimitry Liss Dimitry Lisionok Dimitry Liss, was born on the 18th day of December 1985 in the city of Vladivostok, Russia. Soon after he relocated to Tyumen, Siberian City where he spend the first 15 years of his life. Music and sports were the only activities that kept him going in the oil- rigged city. At home his father was his main influence and shaped his perception of music. Dad was deeply rooted in good old school rock, in the likes of Beatles, Nazareth, CCR, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne. Didn’t take long for Dimitry to pick up the tennis racket and rock on at the tender age of 4. In addition, his mother's friend was a piano teacher who started tutoring young Dimitry from an early age, which initially was perceived as hardworking and difficult - became easy and interesting. Sports was his little sanctuary, where the body exercised and the mind relaxed, composing a flow of ideas that later on grew more complex. The year was 2002, Dubai was the new city that would in turn add to his aural perception. In the United Arab Emirates he completed high school; in a poly-cultural environment were music, culture and technology coincide hand in hand. His younger brother formed a metal-band soon after Dimitry joined him to express their ideas, in a more sophisticated level. Rhythm guitar intrigued Dimitry and still does to this day. The band has composed over 20 original pieces over the last years, with tastes of heavy metal, brutal death, melodic and the like and now more diverse and stronger than ever. After school Dimitry set off to Prague to study business, however his journey was cut short. Within a year his passion guided him to follow another path. In 2006, back to square one, he joined an audio engineering school in Dubai. Where he successfully completing his audio engineering degree in 2007 and was honored with a bachelor’s degree in Arts. The educational experience equipped him with several valuable tools; and his perception of music grew immensely. Now being able to put each and every one of his ideas on canvas. In this educational journey, he met his co-producer artist, Costas Papa. Although Costas was heavily influenced from house, trance and techno; at some level they had similar visions. This gave birth to the Dimitry Liss & Costas Papa "coalition", formed in 2007 to serve the global community with quality electronic music. Although the project is like a new born baby, it has crawled into several leading indie labels such as Bit Records Mexico, Xela Recordings, Stranamente Records, Total Wipes, Reticent Recordings to name a few. However, Dimitry did not stop there as in early 2009 he ventured to explore the music world in his solo career by signing with few more major underground labels like Frisky Records and Balkan Connection South America Records. Currently Dimitry Liss supports electronic music, he is heavily involved with Dimitry Liss & Costas Papa duo project and his own work as a producer and a DJ, crafting brand new progressive, tech, deep, minimal house tracks for your enjoyment.

Search Add 6 Serial Vice Serial Vice are an Heavy Metal band based in Southern Italy. The idea to found a band was born in 2011 from Alessandro Scorrano (drums) and Andrea Donaera (guitar). After some line-up changes, in 2013 another guitarist, Matteo Cirfeda, joins the project, and in the same year the band recorded the first single "Heroin". In the middle of 2014 bassist Stefano Bianchini and singer Giacomo Albanese joins Serial Vice: with this line-up, the band consolidates in live performances and profiling his sound into a Heavy Metal between classic and modern, gritty and melodic, with various and extensive influences - from Hard Rock to Thrash, from Doom to Power. Between January and February 2015 the band recorded his first EP "Nightmares Come True", with release finally scheduled for 2017 for Sliptrick Records label, and supported by the single "You Are Heroin" (new version of the song "Heroin"), a self-produced three songs demo and by an official video (Master of No-Life). In 2021, four years after the release of the band's highly acclaimed first work, the group releases the new single "The Edge of Fragility", which marks the end of the course started with the first album and the beginning of a new stylistic phase for the band.

Search Add 6 Neon Voyagers In 2021, NEON VOYAGERS were born in Patras Greece . They consist of Alexandros Tzamalis and Tryfonas Tryfonopoulos and aim to bring 80's sounds full of analog synthesizers and Neon lights to today. The creative duo grew up in the age of Neon light. They were experientially nourished by music from John Carpender's films. Grew up with tv shows like the Voyagers, Knight Rider, Doctor Who, Tales from the crypt. When games were 8bit and movies in VHS.The sounds of NEON VOYAGERS are captured by analog synthesizers and drum machines. This neon voyagers 2023 self-titled debut album is the first full length completed work. It is undeniably a genuine example of synthwave. The cinematic approach as the 10 tracks unfolds in a selected order is a composed transition from dark post apocalyptic to neo-romantic feelings of a first date at a drive inn.As they characteristically note, "we are space-time travelers in a musical Neon universe. We live in the present, the future, the past at all times. Bean me up Scotty. We are the Neon Voyagers."
