Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 6 Beatocello Beat Richner Dr. med. Beat Richner (1947-2018) was a Swiss pediatrician and cellist. As both a cellist and a medical doctor, Richner was known by patients, audiences, and donors as "Beatocello". Richner studied with the cellists Julius Bächi, Enrico Mainardi and Siegfried Palm, created his own cabaret program as the musical clown "Beatocello", performed full-length programs in Zurich and elsewhere, but then decided to study medicine. He specialized in pediatrics at the Children's Hospital in Zurich. In 1974/1975, the Swiss Red Cross sent him to the Kantha Bopha Children's Hospital in Phnom Penh (Cambodia). When the Khmer Rouge took power, Richner was able to leave the country in 1975; nine out of ten of his colleagues at the time were killed in the Killing Fields. He resumed his work at the Children's Hospital in Zurich and opened his own pediatric practice in Zurich in 1980. In addition, he performed as the musical clown "Beatocello" for children in hospitals and theaters and published children's books with his stories, which he illustrated himself. When Cambodia became accessible to foreigners again, Richner traveled to Phnom Penh and was commissioned by the King Norodom Sihanouk and the Ministry of Health to rebuild Kantha Bopha. Dr. med. Beat Richner founded the first Kantha Bopha children's hospital in 1992. In the following 25 years he opened four more hospitals in Cambodia. During the 25 years of his work, his hospitals treated 15.4 million outpatients and 1.7 million seriously ill children as inpatients.

Search Add 6 Sheki-Dol シェキドル Sheki-Dol was a Japanese pop group, active from 2000 to 2002. At the time, all Hello! project acts belonged to UP-FRONT Promotion, but Sheki-Dol belonged to Green Park Music (グリーンパーク・ミュージック). (Now called Espro (エスプロ)).They got their name from the combination of the words Akamichi Doll (赤道ドール; Equator Doll) and the phrase "Shake It", meaning girls with a hot image. The group started out as a duo with Ami Kitagami and Ibuki Ooki. They had participated in the 4th Morning Musume & Heike Michiyo Protegee Auditions (the same auditions that Matsuura Aya eventually won). They had their own radio show and performed their debut single at a Hello! project concert months before it was released as a single. They were also frequently featured in music magazines and fashion shoots. They were rumored to be "idol with contacts" as well as being rude to their fan base, resulting in fewer and fewer fans. They held a disastrous live performance where only 15 people attended. Mami Suenaga was added for the release of their second single, with Ibuki leaving shortly after (to start a modeling career under the name EVEKI) only to be replaced by Ari Sakai. They released their fourth and final single in December 2001 before disbanding in early 2002. The official reason was that one of its members needed medical attention. It was speculated, but not confirmed that Suenaga was pregnant. She later talked about this, saying she had a nervous break-down anfd anxiety attacks.

Search Add 6 DJ Cam-One Cameron Bolling DJ Cam_One of Mystery Sound Recordings, Beat.Clause.It_Studios and Linden Tree Mastering. I am DJ Cam_One born Cameron Bolling and have been into music since an early age. I started singing in chorus and playing trumpet in elementary school and continued throughout middle school. At the age of 13 I started making mixtapes for friends using two cassette tape recorders. During this time my sister Rachel was dating DC radio and club Hip-Hop extraordinaire DJ Iran. Since then my life was never the same. In 1995, two years later I bought my first turntable from a pawnshop and paid with change. For the next three years I would practice my scratching, mixing and mixtapes skills. In 1998, I joined a Funk band called Bakufu using my turntables as added percussion to the group. Bakufu disbanded a few months later and I joined a DJ collective called Samsara Camp. This collective comprised of old and new friends from high school. Most of them had no experience with DJing and turntables, so I would teach them techniques that were learned and passed down to me. While with Samsara Camp I started playing Hip Hop at house parties and small venues throughout Maryland and Washington DC. Having the opportunity to open up for other locals at small venues was the stepping stone I needed to advance in my DJ career. After that I started giving private DJ lessons to friends and spoke with them about personal DJing experiences I had to help them with their DJ careers. That is just as important as technique. A short while later I joined another collective called Mantis Sound System and this is where my skills were honed and was able the play out more often. In 2001 I was contacted to play and teach Hip Hop DJing at Towson Universities Hip Hop week were I met an enormous amount of people and exhausted my resources. A few years later I found myself spinning regularly in Washington DC and Baltimore. While in Baltimore I opened up for and DJ’d along side such greats as: KRS-ONE, DJ Q-Bert and DJ Swamp among others at the popular club Sonar. While in Washington DC I opened up for and DJ’d along side such greats as: Cappadonna, Jurrasic 5, Mr.Len, Tame-One, Matisyahu among others at many popular clubs that hosted Hip Hop. In the summer of 2003 I had the opportunity to DJ before and after Dave Chappelle’s DC standup for both shows at the Warner Theater right after his first season debut of “Chappelle’s Show”. Soon thereafter I would find myself at Nissan Pavilion on the Code of the Cuts stage of the Vans Warped Tour. After those two amazing shows and the reception I received in DC and Baltimore I became a resident DJ for a legendary party called “Krunk” led by international DJ Jesse Tittsworth. During this time I would have shows at the world renowned Knitting Factory in New York and 9:30 Club in Washington DC and opening up for artists such as Jurassic 5 and Matisyahu. I have also judged the Guitar Center’s “Spin Off” DJ competition four times and was a judge at the International Turntable Federation (ITF) Mid Atlantic finals DJ competition. Presently I DJ for special occasions, but most of my time is now spent in my studio.

Search Add 6 Don Daber Donald Daber Don Daber was a Graphic Artist and Photographer, born Kirkland Lake, Ontario May 1, 1929, died April 4, 2019. Don was born in Kirkland Lake, ONT. In 1949 he moved to Toronto to study at the Ontario College of Art (now the Ontario College of Art and Design). After graduating, he began a career in graphics and photography. He moved to Ottawa, ONT, for his first full-time job at Crawley Films where he worked as a graphic artist. In 1956, Don and a partner started their own company called Advertising Art Associates. One of their clients was The Boy Scouts Association of Canada. Don’s connection with the greater drum corps community began in July 1960 when he joined two members of the Optimists executive, Al Baggs and Clare Reid, at a meeting of what was then called the Canadian Trumpet Band Association. As a result of this meeting, he was given a contract to do the artwork and program book for the upcoming championship contest. During his years with [a3887323] (Toronto Optimists and [a3734698]), Don was a photographer, the publicity director and the corps director (more than once). He was also the creator and editor of GCC, Green Capsule Comments with the Toronto Optimists and Gold Capsule Comments with the Seneca Optimists. Don’s cartoons were frequently included in editions of GCC and many were featured in the tabloid newspaper [l2103616] between 1971 and 2000, all of which can be found in the pages of Steve Vickers’ book, “The Art of Drum Corps World.” In addition to his work with the Optimists, he found time to work with both the Ontario and Canadian Drum Corps Associations, serving as a photographer, publicity director and board member. In his spare time he wrote articles for various drum corps publications, produced the artwork for a number of record albums (almost three dozen for the Revere, MA-based Fleetwood label) as well as designing posters and doing the program artwork for a variety of contests.

Search Add 6 Imanol Castro Imanol Castro Imanol Castro Béduchaud is always looking for the groove, after many years of being musician and constantly finding new rhythms he become interested in mixing and create all kinds of sounds for whomever he can, wherever he can and with the tools he had at hand. “As the time goes by” he begins his studies in Audiovisual Engineering and continues with the musical production from a more professional listening point creating songs, remixes and edits with the main objective of finding different sounds that make you move your body and shake your soul, is a lover of black music and has an extensive library of Funk, Nu Disco, House Afrobeat and other eclectic grooves which is responsible every day to continue exploring and expanding. Throughout the years and in an almost nonexistent Uruguayan disco house and funk scene he grow a new offer by co-founding a collective called “La Escuela del Groove“ maintaining various residences in the Montevidean night and producing and being part of new parties in the region. In this way he managed to position himself as one of referent Djs focused on this style in Uruguay and became an emerging local artist. He is a digger and love to find “new” lost songs and today its main production is to reedit them for the modern dancefloor. He recently edited his EP "Funky Weekend" for the first time on Beatport, under the Muzik X Press label, which climb on place 31st of the funk/soul/disco best 100 rank. He recently co-founded a new 10’’ inch record label named U’re Guay Records centered on disco house to bring new lost grooves to the nightclubs and featuring national artists, they are planning their first release in July and followed by three more in June and August 2018. After a decade musicing any encounter, since the last three years the rhythm of presentations has become constant in clubs and parties in Uruguay and the quality of the parties were increasing, emerging new opportunities in various countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, the United States, France and Paraguay.
