Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Ntropy are a Bristol-based duo formed by Carlo Angelucci and Thomas Brun who met in Bristol and decided to start this collaboration project in 2013. Ntropy's main purpose is to explore the darker side of drum and bass and, in order to let the audience familiarise themselves with their sound, the duo launched a series of events in different venues around Bristol (Queen's Head and Cosies) called "Bass Office". Their debut EP, "Trazodrone", was released on Modulate Recordings in 2015. In 2017 the duo played for several events around Europe spanning from Bristol's very own Noise Test nights at Blue Mountain to the stunning landscapes of La Cinta beach at Sun and Bass in Sardinia (Italy). After months locked in the studio working on many tracks, in 2018 the duo releases on Singularity Audio an EP first, "Unbroken", and just a few months later their debut LP, "Goram", which included "Get Dem Wise", a track written with the talented Italian producer Bayou. In 2019 Danger Chamber Digital released two different Ntropy's EPs: “Mydriasis” and "Antabuse", the latter a collaboration EP with Berlin-based amen butcher a.k.a. At the age of 22, Barden took $500 he had saved and he opened a record shop named Donnie’s Records where he attracted acts such as the Jackson Five and James Brown. With earnings he gained in Ohio real estate investment, Barden established Barden Cablevision in 1979, which developed the cable television system serving Detroit and surrounding areas. He eventually sold the company to Comcast in 1994 for more than $100 million.

Search Add 6 Dennis "Scorcher" Williams Dennis Williams In Reggae music, like other genres, artists and producers leave their mark on an industry and then quietly fade away. In the ‘early days in Jamaica – the late 60’s- names like JJ, Clancy Eccles, Coxsone, Duke Reid, Bunny Lee, Prince Buster, Lee Perry, Keith Hudson, Joe Gibson and Randy’s and High Note were the producers known by the public. However, there was one name which kept appearing on some blank ‘killa’ 45s played in the dancehalls: SCORCHER. Every sound system owner spoke about Scorcher. A part of every major sound system’s routine, involved sending the DJ/selector to ‘check wid Scorcher and see what him have.’ Scorcher began delivering records to sound system owners at age 12. “I used to deliver records on my roller skates on Sunday mornings when the operators were just getting out of bed,” he recalls. But Scorcher was to move way beyond that. By age 16, he had teamed up with George Wade and Osmond ‘Junior’ Holton to form ‘The Scorchers’ and did their first record – Ugly Man- for Lloyd the Matador. It was an instant hit with the Jamaican public. It skyrocketed to number one on both Jamaican radio charts, selling some 70,000 copies! And it was then, ‘Lloyd said to me boy you are Scorcher’. The name stuck ever since. Other records charting on the Matador label, included ‘Hold on Tight Mary Ann,’ in 1968 which dethroned the then number one single in Jamaica from the Ethiopians, ‘Everything Crash’’; ‘Tighten Up Yourself’ and ‘What a Condition,’ a song along the lines of ‘Everything Crash.’ Scorcher had proven himself as a producer and began to attract the attention of the biggest names in the business, both artists and studio owners alike. As a producer, Scorcher worked with the then Federal Records. Duke Reid, among the biggest names at the time, but it was at Studio One that Scorcher really came into his own, producing notable hit of that period, from artists like the Gaylads, Larry Marshall, Bop and the Belltones and a host of still unnamed ‘scorchers’ on blank labels. These were the favorites of the sound systems; the one in a million hits that never made it to radio. Today Scorcher is still producing. He migrated to California in 1969 and toured Europe, the US-Pacific region and North America for a while performing at nightclubs and promoting concerts. In 1970, he released the first reggae LP, conceived, recorded and produced in California, “What a Bam Bam.” In 2013 Scorcher comes back full circle to his Skinhead Reggae roots teaming up with Jandisc Records producer J Bonner and Jandisc house band ‘the Black Emeralds.’ His single titled ‘Record Breaker’ is due out May 2013 and highlights his ‘talkover’ talents as a deejay proving once again that there’s simply nothing Scorcher can’t conquer. Search Add 6 Pitt Linder Wolfgang E. Linder Swiss musician, recording engineer, radio-host, PA-builder etc. from Basel. Wolfgang E. (Pitt) Linder was born in Bern on 8 April 1924. Studied violin and clarinet at the Bern Music Conservatory, before discovering the tenor saxophone and American jazz which he helped introduce to Switzerland through orchestras and bands. He started out to play in some local Basel Jazz combos together with his brother Albert Linder in the early 50s. His first Rock & Roll record (Heartbreak Hotel b/w Minor Rock by Die Rock & Rollers) came out as a vinyl 45 back in ca. 1956/1957 on Tell Records. By 1957 he would become a recording artist for Grammoclub Ex Libris. From 1957 on until ca. into the early 1970's Big Pitt Linder would also be hosting his own weekly radio show on the national Swiss Basel Radio, where he would usually play some music by his own bands, mixed with lots of music by other bands. He used to record and a t times conducted hundreds of records for Ex Libris, and some other labels. Those records were usually recorded at Landgasthof Riehen (Basel), or at Radio DRS, Basel. His firm Linder Electronics, Basel, installed sound systems in discos, auditoriums and concert halls. The PA-system from the first Swiss Rolling Stones concert in Zürich was built by Pitt Linder. His undertaking used to be called "Linder Electronics" back then. Linder Electronics existed from the early 60s until around the mid '80s. Pitt Linder used to build the PA's for most of the local Basel Beat-bands from the 60s in order so that they could play in bigger venues. By the mid-60s virtually nobody would remember him as an old Jazz, and Rock & Roll musician anymore, but he built the PA system for the Montreux Jazz Festival. Later on towards the late 80s he moved to New Jersey, USA, to become a famous recording engineer (for mostly classical music) in New York City. He designed and installed the sound and light system for the Swiss Pavilion for the World Expo in Tsukuba Japan (1985). The last 14 years of his life were spent in Victoria BC Canada where he enjoyed hiking and the renowned classical and jazz community. He was a friend to the Victoria Conservatory of Music, who established a Pitt Linder Memorial Fund for young musicians after his death at the age of 94 on 1 December 2018.

Search Add 6 The D-Gen's Between 2009 and 2010 the band sold 1100 total discs of their first 2 demo cds, selling them via Facebook, Myspace, and at basement and backyard shows across Long Island, NY. Kenny Jockel has run Infernal Trinity Records since 2006, after his collaborative work with AreaDeath Productions in 2006-2007 led to an internationally distributed CD from his friends Ritual Sacrifice that sold out of 1000 copies in 2 weeks. He wrote the 3-page bio, designed the booklet, wrote the liner notes, and supplied the band with the recordings since they had long lost all their demo material, all at age 16. This led to his formation of ITR and his motivation to run the ultimate DIY label free of outside influence and corruption, and providing his services to local true-metal bands 100% Free so they can get their music out there and make moderate-money without sacrifice any degree of creative control. The bands merchandise, 2 different patches made on fully-handbuilt silkscreen presses, 12" vinyl sleeves pro-printed and assembled by hand, t-shirts designed and silkscreened by the band, and the approx. 1100 demo cd's (200 with one of 4 different handdrawn covers done by each member) and 100 CD EP's (made on band-purchased surplus factory-standard blank discs so they are silver on the bottom) is always made by hand with emphasis on uniqueness, collect-ability and aesthetic value. The bands motto printed on the back of the T-Shirts and bottom of the official press-packs (always flanked by inverted crosses), was "D.I.Y. 'Till We Fuckin' Die! F.T.S. - SVS - S9S - Fuck the rest!!" They were praised by internationally renowned acts like Militia, Spectral Incursion, and members of Decimation for their young age and for crafting their own sound combining influences from D.R.I. to Terror to Burzum to Integrity. to Midnight, without sounding like any of the above but still making their influences clear. Mike Soliz of Militia said of their second Demo CD "this is the best crossover we've heard since 87-88, if you can make it to Texas we'll split a bill with you anytime!!" (all members of Militia wrote to the band to give input on their respective instruments).

He interprets traditional American music, country blues, in your face honky-tonk country and contemporary material, always with much love but never too much respect for the original sources, true to his motto “save folk music from the folkies”. More recently he has explored the space between folk music, American Primitive improvisations, drones, noise and banjo with the aid of loopers, effects and collaborators, creating something he sometimes calls “psychedelic stoner banjo”. His first solo album “Judgement Day in Pyynikki” was released on Hulina Records in 2018 and has received good reviews. In addition to his solo work, Don plays traditional American folk and country blues with The Candyland Crawdads, experimental folk with The Fractal Cauliflowers, and punk-country and doombilly with Dark Bottle.

February 22, 1986 He began piano lessons at age eight. At 12, Eddy was part of a local orchestra, playing the piano while his audience kept time to two-step favorites. In the Navy, during the first World War, he played on stage with many celebrities like Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford, and others. Then he played the saxophone in one of John Philip Sousa's hand-picked bands from 1917-1919. In 1923, Eddy Hanson became the first radio organist in Chicago at station WDAP (later WGN), playing on radio shows with Grace Wilson, Kate Smith and Rudy Vallee, "Amos and Andy," "Fibber McGee and Molly," "Helen Trent," "Myrt and Marge" and others. He also played occasional 15 minute solo spots. Later, as an acclaimed musician, he was still composing and had written over 300 songs. Hanson moved back to Wisconsin, retiring in Waupaca, in the early 1960s. He performed locally with polka bandleader Lawrence Duchow, and taught lesson's through Al Rollo's Hammond Organ studios. He released 3 LPs and a single (from the 3rd LP) through Rollo's private label in 1969, and reissued one LP, "Eddy Hanson - Master Organist" through his own personal Kobar Records in 1985. In the 1970s he was regarded as the oldest master organist still alive, and still active giving concerts and seminars on organ performance. After another decade of successes and accolades, Eddy was honored as a special member of 1980 AMICA (Automatic Musical Instrument Collector's Association) for his earlier piano roll work. In April of 1984 Eddy moved into the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King, Wisconsin. The master organist died there at the age of 92 in 1986.
