Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Hieronymus Bogs | Hieronymus Bogs’s eclectic blend of orchestral folk, spoken word, and performance art nearly evades traditional classification altogether. During one of his intimate performances, you might find the bearded Bogs kneeling penitently, singing, “Lovers, don’t get trapped by illusion,” or someplace offstage beseeching his audience to enter “this half imagined portal.” It’s musical art that’s both unconventional and surprisingly embraceable. Evoking an ancient crooner, Bogs’s voice sits comfortably between Roy Orbison and Scott Walker, with hints of Antony and the Johnsons’s theatricality. Commandingly fusing mystically inspired lyricism and delicately stark instrumentation, his songs set emotions free in an almost hypnotic way. From optimism’s peaks to regret’s chilling depths, his music cycles through potent moods and descriptive imagery, conjuring cinematic landscapes where beggars are clothed, ruins are rebuilt, and beautiful losers waltz through existence. Bogs’s extensive catalog and tireless touring has popularized his unique songcraft and performance style throughout New York and its surrounding areas. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Bogs now resides in Truth or Consequences, NM, a fine muse for his spare poetic aesthetic.

Search | Add | 5 | Charles Charamba | Charles Charamba | Charles Charamba, the massively talented gospel musician was born in 1971 in Mudzi, a remote area in the eastern district of Zimbabwe. As he grew up, Charles discovered at a very early age that his major gift lay in music. Such was boy's conspicuous talent that at primary school he was the youngest member of his school singing group. Together with his seniors' they toured many places entertaining audiences of all ages and classes. The vibrant Charles converted to Christianity in August 1988.Thus began an era which today has become a phenomenon of pronounced multitude. The man belongs to Who's Who of the country's top gospel artistes. If the fame come across the border, who would be surprised? Charles is not a fly by night musician who thrives on plucking common hymns from various denominations. A highly inspired composer in his own right, he possesses exceptional writing skills that are virtually unmatched. Previous works like 'Jehovah NdiMwari Wedu' (1995) and the album 'Tinashe Akatendeka' (1997) bear open testimony to the man's God-given prowess. A humble and lovable character, Charles Charamba is no doubt one gospel giant who is bound to grow on and go beyond the apex, smashing all known historical perceptions.Even the sky cannot be the limit Brother! Keep on fishing them out. Notes on Compilation Album 'Muzita RaJesu Vol. 1. |

Search | Add | 5 | Domna Samiou Ensemble | Domna Samiou was born on October 12th 1928, in the Kaisariani1 neighborhood in Athens and died on March 10th 2012. Her parents were refugees from the village of Baindir in the Smyrna (Izmir) area. Her mother came to Greece in 1922, whilst her father, who was a prisoner of war, arrived slightly later during the exchange of populations2. During her childhood years she lived the harsh life of a refugee, but was also surrounded with the humane solidarity of the refugee communities. That is where she acquired her deep connection with popular culture and her aptitude to participate. It was in these surroundings that she also came into contact with music for the first time and where she acquired her love for folk music. At the age of thirteen, whilst attending night school, Domna Samiou also began to receive her first formal musical training from Simon Karas at the Association for the Dissemination of National Music, where she was tutored in Byzantine and Folk music, as well as being introduced to the idea of field research in music. Her first professional collaboration with the National Radio Foundation (E.I.R.)3 started when she was a member of the Simon Karas choir. In 1954 she became a full time employee of the station, working in the ‘National Music Section’4. Through her work there, she came in contact with the leading traditional musicians of the day, who were part of the greater migration wave at the time from the countryside to Athens. The National Music Section was busy recording such musicians and as a result, she became acquainted with all the various local musical styles. At the same time she was conducting the musical supervision for records, theatrical programs and films. In 1963 she started touring the countryside independently, to record music for the archive she was establishing, using her own means and equipment. In 1971 Domna Samiou left her radio job and importantly, later in the year, accepted an invitation by the composer and performer Dionysis Savvopoulos to start performing at a club called Rodeo, (see The first concerts) frequented by a youthful anti-junta5 audience. This marked the beginning of Domna Samiou's impact on the appreciation of folk music by the younger generations in Greece. Soon after she performed at the English Bach Festival in London, which was being run by Lila Lalandi at the time. It was a triumphant start to a brilliant musical career. 'It made people overcome the embarrassment they felt for folk music' as she herself stated later.

Search | Add | 5 | Christopher Winker | Christopher Winker | I started experimenting with different styles of music with my brother mike, ranging from rock to techno in late 2000 … sitting in front of the TV while using the Playstation 2 Software „Music Generator” and recording every track onto cassette tapes. We started early recordings in hopes to put together an album by blending metal and electronica to create a unique sound that doesn't normally dominate radio and clubs. We decided to collaborate and put together lot’s of records, each one represented our maturity. After few years I decided to go all out and start creating everything from the ground up … having experience and new studio equipment, I realized what needed to be done, Mr. Gordon was born! Lot’s of tracks and jam-sessions are stored on my drive, with lots of highs and lows and too much ideas, some tracks are coming together and some are not. Not fitting in, is the choice … cause whats the point of doing another ordinary track. Just going with the flow of Mr. Oizo: „Some are good, Some are bad, Some are just okay ...“ |

He completed his apprenticeship at Lubas & Sohn in 1912 and immigrated to Cleveland where he worked as a laborer while manufacturing and repairing chromatic and diatonic button accordions in his spare time. He saved his money and by 1921 was able to build a shop on St. Clair Avenue. Besides housing his accordion business, the building served as a retail music store where he sold phonographs, records, and other musical instruments. In addition, Mervar acted as a consultant and talent scout for the record companies—[l61808], [l1866], [l62753], and later [l93681]. Among those he recommended were the [a6964156], the [a8400237] duet, [a6359617], and Anton Štrukelj. The Hoyer Trio’s earliest OKeh recordings (made under the name [a6449604]) and the Columbia reissues of them include on the labels the words “Harmonica izdelal A. Mervar” (Accordion made by A. Mervar). One of the Hoyer Trio’s recordings—“Samo da bo likof ” (Everything for a Bargain)—is a comedy sketch which describes a visit by [a2399990] to Mervar’s Music Store for the purchase of an accordion. In it, members of Chicago’s [a6936342] act the parts of Mr. and Mrs. Mervar. Application of techniques he learned in Europe gave Mervar’s accordions a distinct and unique sound which has not been duplicated. He and his wife died in an automobile accident in 1942.
Search | Add | 5 | Anches Doo Too Cool | [a=Daniel Paboeuf] and [a=Philippe Herpin] first met in 1975, but it's only in 1978 that the band formed in Rennes (France), after the debuts of [a=Marquis De Sade]. The name is based on a play on words in French "Anches d'où tout coule" (Reeds from which everything flows). Their first live occurred at MJC La Paillette in March 1978, together with [a556251] on bass under the moniker of "Anches doo too cool badaboom duo". The main duet plays in Brest, and tours in the Briton clubs during Summer 1978. They are also programmed during the 1st [l420072] in June 1979. In Summer 1980, the duet records demos of the "[r=2404872]" LP. They then record at [l324109] during Fall 1980, with a few guests: Nicole Calloc'h sings on a track, [a350153] reads a text on another, Jean-Pierre Ghez eructs here and there, whilst [a1077077] manages the electronics. The LP is released end of 1980. Only few lives were programmed afterwards mainly at Jazz festivals, but on the 19th of October 1981, the duet recorded a live album at L'église Toussaint in Rennes, called "[r=2433495]". It was released early 1982, at the same period than the Sax Pustuls' LP "[m=1548709]", but 2 weeks prior its release Paboeuf leaved the formation to join [a1584494]. The duet is gonna reform for a night in February 1985, for the showing of the "Purple Rain" movie, in Rennes. But they reunite officially at [l1519853] in Paris end of 1985. A few concerts were made in 1986 including [l486869], followed by a Tour end of 1986 which concluded on the 1st night of the [l420072] at the "[a18700] et ses amis" event. Another Tour started in January 1987 in Le Mans, Lyon, Montpellier, and the 12th of February 1987 at Salle Vilar, Rennes. In march 1987, they recorded their 3rd LP at [l327290] in Paris. Guests: [a1074423] on mandolin, [a383887] on bass on a few tracks only, and Hector Zazou on machines programming. [r=2731695] is released in June 1987. In July, they are listed for the [l706622] festival and returned in January 1988 to play at [l420082]. For the [l706622] in July 1988, the duet became a sextet called "Anches doo too cool sexes-têtes". 3 of the guests were part of the 17 persons big band led by Philippe Herpin aka Pinpin, "Prof Pinpin et ses Funk Noz". The band then welcomed Gilles Habile on keys and [a879247] on drums. Their final LP [m=1434251] is released in 1990, before they disband.

The band formed in Buenos Aires in 1987 from the ashes of less known punk bands such as Licor de Semen with the line up of Johanna (vocals), Jóse Luis (guitar), Oscar (bass) and Mariano (drums). In 1988 they released the Benditos sean muñecos que pegan cassette in a limited edition of 200 copies but seemed to split up and disappear soon afterwards.

Search | Add | 5 | Hisaaki Kanzaki | 神崎ひさあき | Saxophonist and composer Hisaaki Kanzaki was born in Kochi Prefecture. His love for the saxophone began in junior high school, influenced by such artists as Sadao Watanabe, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, and Art Pepper to name but a few. Upon graduating from university, Kanzaki formed Kanzaki on the Road, a group that became a leading force behind Japan's fusion boom. In 1980 he released his debut album, "Open My Road" from Nippon Phonogram (Mercury Records).Following that he released two more albums before going to the US in 1986, where he participated in numerous sessions. In 1988, Kanzaki teamed up with Russ Freeman & The Rippingtons, Rickey Minor, David Benoit, David Garfield, Phil Perry, and others and released the album "KANZAKI."On returning to Japan he became involved in the music production field, working on many theme tunes for commercials and TV. Some years back, Michael White (from the George Benson and David Sanborn band) recorded "So Far Away," a Kanzaki composition. Around that time, Kanzaki gained widespread acclaim as a composer when his album title tune hit ninth place on the US jazz charts (radio and records). Kanzaki went on to establish international projects including "Asian Soul Brothers" with best friend Michael Paulo (sax). Within Tokyo’s club scene, he joined forces with music producers Keigo Tanaka and Asako Toki in 2003 to produce compilations as the rockboys & feat.kzsax, creating the "buffet style." In 2005 he brought out the sounds of "Otemachi Cafe" under his own label, Real Play Records. The following year saw Kanzaki issue a re-release of "KANZAKI" along with "OZONIC," a work featuring string quartet. In the course of his prominent and successful career, Kanzaki has developed a deep passion for collaboration with international artists inside and outside Japan, and in that spirit has frequently served as a special lecturer at Musashino Art University. His unconventional image and music style continue to grow and influence others within the music scene. |

Their smash "Love (Can Make You Happy)" was released in two different versions – the first version, recorded and released by Cabot on Sundi Records, and a second version released on a major label, Warner Brothers, which signed the group for a full-length album (1969’s "Forever") while simultaneously releasing a re-recorded “Love (Can Make You Happy)” single.

Search | Add | 5 | Group Of Individuals | Group of Individuals was an innovative Chicago punk band from 1984 to approximately 1994. The band was well recognized by contemporaries for their tuneful songcraft, unapologetic social and humanitarian stances, and bludgeoning (but highly musical) delivery. Although their live exposure was purely regional, their material was passed liberally around a burgeoning global indie scene. An unsanctioned internet reference refers to them as "melodic anarcho '77 punk rock with a real good singer." Hurricane Party Instead Of A Magazine: All Music Intrendent International Limited Potential Save The Dead Spontaneous Combustion / Immense Decay The Anatomy Of A Revolution The Blind Armadillo War Between The States We Can Change The World We Did It Ourselves Yet Another Compilation [u]History:[/u] Group Of Individuals was spearheaded and formed in 1984 by Mike Lazuka with bandmates Mark McClean and Andy Eringis. Lazuka, who had honed his skills bashing out various rock covers in years prior, crafted the new group as a vehicle for his eclectic musical tastes, unrelenting sociopolitical passions, and his ever-evolving original pop-punk canon. Having quickly recorded his first two songs under the new moniker, he spent his high school prom night traveling throughout Chicagoland distributing and promoting the now-infamous debut single "Destroyer Of Fun / The $ellout" to every indie-friendly radio station that would open their door. The brilliant WNUR was among Lazuka's targets that exciting evening. Lazuka was a vehement evangelist of the D-I-Y movement, often generously donating material to anyone supportive enough that would also benefit from a fattened catalog. As the first single picked up steam within his distribution channel, Lazuka began to finalize the first working live band to support his efforts. Although Lazuka performed all the drumming on all studio recordings, Ubaldo Ayala manned the buckets for live shows. Eringis had moved on to other commitments, and so the versatile Joe Garcia joined as permanent bassist. Using brand-spanking new recordings "Being Bored" and "Fashion Fools", the band was selected to appear on the 1985 Certain Death-led compilation Dial-a-Trance. A performance at the compilation's release party cemented a reputation as well as helpful association with pals in the genre. Regional live work began in earnest, as did progress on new songs and new studio demos. Mike's standard stage uniform, consisting of baggy camo and a Buckwheat-adorned t-shirt, was always a highlight. To mark the centennial anniversary of the 1886 Chicago Haymarket Riot, Lazuka wrote, recorded, and released the commemorative 1986 single "World Civil War / Police Beat" on his newly-branded Universal Satirical Association label. During this same period, Eringis temporarily returned on bass to sub for the absent Garcia, and Brian St. Clair (Rights of the Accused, Triple Fast Action, Local H) took over the drum stool for the unavailable Ayala. The related demonstrations and shows were memorable for their sense of community and great music vibe. Toward the late 1980's, the band had amassed enough road-tested original material and studio recordings to begin planning a full-length release. But with factions of the hardcore punk scene quieting somewhat, and faux-metallic AquaNet-drenched shemales sprawled across most music charts, Lazuka blasted his next generational wake-up call to herald the end of the "me" decade with the tuneful "Children Are The Future" (coupled with the spastic "Being Bored") 7" release through Underdog Records. The band's roster continued to evolve; Eringis had subbed for McClean on guitar, John Potwora came aboard as drummer, and Mike Grist took over for Joe Garcia as bassist. From 1987-1990, the Group printed a newsletter and free ad paper, also called Universal Satirical Association, for the independent music scene. There was no charge for either the issues or the ads themselves. The issues were released sporadically and ranged from 10-20 pages each. Distribution was largely through those running ads and at indie-friendly stores and venues. Around this same time, the band formed a relationship with Dan Lavorini's Chicago Music Coalition, whose early Sunday morning WLS-FM radio broadcast showcased Chicagoland indie talent. Through it, Group of Individuals was presented with two important promotional opportunities: a "public" recording session presided over by panelists & indie intelligentsia, and a professionally-shot series of music videos. The music videos were aired on local TV, with "Police Beat" being deemed "offensive" and banned by the television station. At the outset, Lavorini's vision for a more commercially accessible Group of Individuals wasn't shared by Lazuka, nor did it ever truly play out. Indie cred intact, they stuck to their proverbial guns. During the early 1990's, Lazuka finally assembled, tweaked, and mastered all previous Group of Individuals recordings to issue the full-length CD "Peace Off!". By then, most of the band's activity had ceased due to garden-variety adult logistics and lifestyles. And while never having officially "broken up", members have amicably all gone their separate ways.

Search | Add | 5 | Ishabel | Isha Bel is a dynamic performing artiste / songwriter from East Kingston Jamaica. A woman of many talents, who has worked in various capacities in the Jamaican music industry Isha bel’s roots reality songs and spitfire performances have been seeping into the consciousness of audiences and listeners locally and internationally. King Unrulee of Unrulee Rockers Intl (UK) dubs her lady lightning. Bongo Herman and Fred Locks describe her energy and vocalizing as raw soul. Like most Jamaican artistes, Isha bel was raised by Christian parents . She and her 5 siblings attended church religiously while growing up in gritty East Kingston, Jamaica..Her father) was a singer, the songs he sung and the cassettes he played, provided her with the inspiration she craved. She found solace in music, the pen and the paper. She performed in competitions and high school concerts. Isha bel first worked professionally as a member of former girl group 4th Street Sister performing locally and in the Caribbean on the hotel circuit and on shows such as Reggae Sumfest and appearing in several newspapers and advertisements. After the group disbanded she worked and toured as background vocalist with a number of artistes such as Warrior King, Tanya Stephens Iley dred, Sizzla ,Morgan Heritage Family ,Norris man .Jah Bouks Droop Lion etc Being a songwriter, she toyed with the idea of releasing her own music for some time. She began working with Hopeton Hibbert writing and collaborating on numerous tracks with some of the Road Dog Production’s releases with artiste such as Yellowman. A couple songs were released under the moniker Sister Irie. The collaboration was shortlived. After a long break, Isha Bel re-emerged on the active music scene making music that reflects her outlook on society and her search for balance. She will quickly tell “you cannot grow up in a community like East Kingston and write only glossy songs “ If I did that, I would be betraying myself and my upbringing”. She worked with Jamaican producers such Alla Lloyd of Chalice, Computer Paul and Caveman. Alla Lloyd and Computer paul are producing several tracks for her upcoming album. Caveman invited her in 2011 to sing harmonies on Sizzla’s, Grammy shortlisted album “The Chant”. She recorded several songs with the label ,Domestic Problems, In My House , African Woman and No Call the Police. A radio release of No call the Police was the official signal of Isha bel stepping out as a solo act on her own terms.“No call the Police” won Irish and Chins 45 Sound Clash Competiton in 2013. A comradery developed with other artistes she met around caveman label Wild life ,black warrior, freeza boxx . Isha bel collaborated on several writing projects with George Wild Life" Scott who introduced her to Intl labels such as Unrulee Records, Sud Sound System (Italy) and Yard Art Music (Germany )etc. Several songs were recorded and released such as One Bag a Reggae” on the Come Back Again compilation - Sud Sound Systems (Italy). This is Love – Yard Art Music (Germany)Watch Over Me -Irie Jam Production (France.) UK labels, Unrulee Records (Unrulee Rockers International Soundsystem) and deep roots label Conscious Sounds Bush Chemist took particular interest in Isha bel, promoting her music to UK and European audiences. Several songs has been released on vinyls and digital download. Unrulee Records have released the following singles They should Know (where the good sensimilla grows) vinyl and downloads .Rolling Rolling a cover of Roy Shirley’s hit rolling Isha bel’s version peaked at number 4 on itunes reggae chart when it was released in Sept 2014. More releases include DEM GET MI MAD on the Prophesy Riddim . Conscious Sound Bush Chemist (UK)released 2 singles on vinyl and downloads Bless Jah Holy Name and Blessings.
