Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 Black Walt Edward Walter Jefferson Edward Walter "Black Walt" Jefferson (Born February 18, 1972) is a pioneering gangsta rapper & producer from the 55th St. neighborhood of Kansas City, MO. He is currently incarcerated. In the early 90's, Black Walt was part of one of the earliest local outfits called Black Mafia, a group which also comprised Dyamund Shields and a young upcoming Tech N9ne... Black Mafia released a self-titled tape in 1991 that is a collector item. After a more-than 10 year hiatus, Black Walt resurfaced in the early 2000's under ILIMAF Records/Entertainment, appearing on several releases before putting out in 2004 his debut solo, "Rulez To Da Game". It was followed by several other releases until his incarceration in 2010 for his participation in a large cocaine distribution ring in KC from 2007 to 2010. In 2012, E. Jefferson was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison without parole. KCMO rappers Cku Koo Bird, Wescrook and Zeno Vellie were also convicted in the case.

Search Add 5 Hipless Hipless is Jerusalem based producer, composer, and bass player Avner Cohen. Hipless is into Jazz and experimental music and was a member of some great bands in the Israel music scene. While studying Music Production & Sound Engineering at Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts & Technology at the renowned Funkhaus in Berlin he caught the techno bug in the cities filthiest clubs. “Jazz is the mother of techno”, says Avner Cohen. So, no wonder, he is waiting like everyone else for the return of the club scene. Until then, he stays cool, draws, enjoys a beer, and collaborates with musicians around the globe.

Search Add 5 Specimen-X Indisputably one of the first bands in the world to establish its own web domain (specimenx.com in 1995) and to release music in the MP3 format (1997), Boston’s Specimen-X took the underground scene by storm over the course of five years, crafting out a signature brand of melodic hard rock and metal. Reknowned for the intensity of its performances, diversity in songwriting, and lyrics and performances themed around the perils of technology and social commentary, the band was the first place winner of Mass. Communication College’s 2000 Battle of the Bands, triumphing over a field of nearly 100 East Coast musical acts. In addition to headlining all of Boston’s and New England’s major venues, Specimen-X’s crowing achievement was its Fall 2000 Tour of Europe, along with distribution of its top-charting funk-metal track track “Every Picture Tells a Lie” on mp3.com‘s “Out of Bounds” compilation – 2,900,000 copies of which were distributed with various consumer computer products. Specimen-X released four critically-acclaimed albums – “The End Is Now” Demo EP (2001) upon the band’s dissolution, “Ascension to Power” Demo EP (2000), 1999′s breakthrough keyboard-laden alternative metal “The Final Hour” (on German label Roddog Records), hailed by independent music critics as “the best thing this genre has served up since the heyday of Faith No More” and 1997′s indie release “Don’t Look Back”. The band also released two professionally produced music videos which were distributed on European music television networks and online as its music received local commercial and national college radio play. Specimen-X “dissolved” amicably in February 2001 after a capstone performance which nearly sold out Boston’s Bill’s Bar – featuring a projected, integrated digital video show and multiple live cameras.

Search Add 5 Kings Harem Originally from New Jersey, growing up in the mid 80's, we saw the rise of shopping malls and hair bands. It was a melting pot of music, musicians and fashion. To either be in a band or be seen hanging out with a band was the coolest thing ever. On the local scene rising up in the shadows of Bon Jovi, Skid Row and Trixter alike was KINGS HAREM. Featured on WSOU & WDHA, the bands notoriety took off at the start of the 90's. Known for their high energetic stage performances, the band thrived on giving the audience a show remember. Infamous for their after show parties, the band would sometimes make 5 - 10 lbs. of pasta feeding the crew and guests. The band members mostly Italian, were all home grown boys having the time of their lives. Formed in the spring of 88' founding members John Crisci, guitarist and Jerry Capri, bassist, were both performing on the Jersey club circuit in various bands. Like most musicians they were involved in projects that often developed into something else. John fresh out of music college, meet Jerry from an ad in a paper called the 'Aquarian'. The two personalities hit it off to seek out a drummer to jam with. Performing at a local club doing cover tunes was drummer, Jon Orth. The following jam sessions were joined by Jon's closest friend, keyboardist, John Seput. The nucleus of Kings Harem was formed from those jam sessions with John Crisci assuming the lead vocals as the writing progressed. Performing gigs on the local club circuit to work out material and fine tune the show, the band realized it needed a front man to spark up the live performance engine. One night after passing out band flyers on car windshields promoting a gig, John Crisci stopped in a 7/11 coffee shop. There he meets Ruben Gomez Kane at the coffee machine. Ruben had just left the pop band, "Menudo" and was looking for a rock project. Ruben was invited to sing at the next gig covering a Bad Company song, 'Rock Steady' and the rest was history. The energy of that performance was so cool we knew we had something. Captivating vocals, blazing guitars hooks and high energetic performances. Follow us and obtain the "All Access Pass". KINGS HAREM is: RUBEN GOMEZ - Lead Vocals and Backing Vocals - Already an International recording star from Menudo, with a long touring discography joined the band 1991. The John Crisci meet Ruben at a local Jersey 7/11 getting a cup of coffee. Not knowing who he was, he asked if he was a singer. He said yes and he invited him to sing at a gig that weekend. ...and that’s how they meet Ruben. They've remained friends every since that day. Ruben's solo career has broadened his musical horizon that has expanded his personal facebook fan base to 75k. JOHN CRISCI - Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals - A Music Major graduate of Wiilliam Paterson University, NJ, with 10 years of jingle sessions, film sound tracks, producing and engineering. "As a band, we lived for the stage performance." Playing with all the Jersey greats in past bands, such as Ray Gillan of Bandlands, it was a close circle of friendships, musicianship and down right good fun! JERRY CAPRI - Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals - A Bassist who plays his instrument like a lead guitar with the stage presence of a front man, what a combo. Right out of college radio, already a DJ personality, his charisma captivates the audience to make you wonder what is he going to do next? Never a dull moment... JON ORTH - Drums, Percussion and Backing Vocals - You’d swear he had 4 legs and hands. His understanding of rhythm counterpoint and song arrangement really held us together. A well rounded session player, knew any style and how to compliment the song. A true showman and friend, plus he,swings a mean hammer. JOHN SEPUT - Keyboards and Backing Vocals - A technical wizard and also a Music Major graduate of Wiilliam Paterson University. John knew how to pad and embellish the songs. From the tonal changes to complicated chord passages, he had it down. He also had the Rack of GOD! You’d swear the heavens were opening up when he laid into those keys. He could peal the paper off venue walls with one key stroke and make it rain on command! Once he took the stage, you knew KINGS HAREM was law.

Search Add 5 Gáspár Kornél Kornél Gáspár Gáspár Kornél is one of the Hungary’s most precious hidden gems. In the early 90's he released a lot of raw trashy dadaistic cassette tapes. Musically it occupies a space between new wave, electro and industrial. The lyrics, mostly in Hungarian, evoke a poignant and mysterious combination of poetic descriptions of the post-socialist reality, unmistakably dystopic images of the future that are sweetened by an almost folksy humour of a bygone era. This in itself would already win - his projects like [a=Új Látásmód Fúzió], [a=Nosztalgia Direktíva] etc a considerable chapter in the history books of the Hungarian electronic music scene. What makes this baritone voice absolutely inimitable though is the fact that the songs are delivered with a wonderfully charming avant-garde showmanship that is both surprising and self-evident at the same time.

Search Add 5 The Defending Champions The Defending Champions It’s hard to pinpoint just when the seven musical titans that now form The Defending Champions became a band. If you’ve ever listened to their music, you might think that they are telepathic septuplets, born to play each note you are hearing, chosen to lead a legendary convention of life-loving citizens. In truth, they are a bunch of friends who have been connected through the years by an overwhelming desire to write solid music and entertain the hell out of people. Sometime in the year 2007, Matt Ryan and Dean Nevolis, after having been in the same band together since puberty, dissembled their childhood group and joined forces with longtime band-mate, saxophonist Matthew Schoenebaum. Together with drummer Shawn Fichtner, bassist Eric Swiontkowski, trumpeter Jovan Alvarez, and percussionist Dave DeRiso, they form The Defending Champions. Composing with their ears bent to the righteous stylings of soul, ska and gypsy music, and held fast by rock’n’roll, the band is allowed enormous room to impact all those ready to dance and be captivated. They’ve been enjoyed throughout the Tri-State area: performing at such venues as Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA, Yogi Berra Stadium, Maxwell’s, Kenny’s Castaways, Knitting Factory, Bitter End, Stanhope House and Rockwood Music Hall. Announced by Jersey Rock Review as “…what is needed in popular music today,” and, in their own words, writing music “intended for the mobilization of the human,” The Defending Champions are what you’ve wanted to hear but didn’t know was sonically possible: better music for the best life.

Search Add 5 Ernie Botts + the Miseries Chad A. Carino Ernie Botts was the stage name that Chad A. Carino selected for himself when he got tired of the persona he had developed for performing under his given name. So, Ernie Botts is normal Chad A. Carino, and Chad A. Carino is the persona. Make sense? (he will be referred to as Ernie for the rest of this bio to reduce confusion) The full title of Ernie Botts + the Miseries occurred when Ernie was working on recording solo, stream of consciousness songs (that would become the release The Art of Fading Thought) and realized he was writing for an audience of one. He claims to have decided that all audience members for any of his solo work would likely be miserable, and therefore claim the title of 'the Miseries'. Audiences, however, failed to play along at the sporadic live shows following the release of TAOFT in 2003. Toward the end of 2003, Ernie began adding 'hacked' robotic toys to the MIDI triggers set up to play layered tracks at live shows, claiming to hypnotize audience members who listened to more than one song... to what end, no one knows. During this time, he disappeared due to serious illness for a month, and then reappeared with a new EP, Dysphoria. Apparently, this was recorded both in stream-of-consciousness and in the middle of treatment for the illness. In 2005, the release Backyard Experiments in Noise revealed a more layered approach, even as the tempo shifts and complexity grew more unsettling than in previous works. Ernie disappeared again, for a number of years, before returning to the stage with a new outfit (Formulae). Outtakes and solo tracks recorded during this period were released as a new album in 2008, Unresolved History. This release was followed by a number of shows (with people instead of robots, this time!) in support of the album from 2008-2010. All prior releases from Ernie Botts + the Miseries were released in 'remastered' form in 2024. This seems like quite the gap. New releases have begun... Fresh Angry Wounds was released in 2026 after a series of singles (Broken Dreams, Shudders, & Way of the Gone) from the album were released toward the end of 2025. There are at least two other albums in the works as of early 2026.

Search Add 5 Otvoreni Prelom Otvoreni Prelom Otvoreni Prelom (Open Fracture) is Anarcho Hardcore Punk band from Senta (Serbia). The initial idea of forming a band started well before it's realization. Somewhere in the winter of 2008 the band started their first rehearsals…they quickly begun work on copyrighted songs! The problematic years of 1990's which brought wars, hate, life and death in the Balkan region did not bring good to anyone. But those years are well behind now. Text columns speak of the abyss that was managed to pull ourselves out of us, and of repercussions, but if a person does not think with his or her head then that person becomes a victim. We call upon everyone to stand up against any form of suppression which might be directed against us… and to make it clear that we will not be just innocent bystanders…main focus it's centered around pain, dealing with hard life, but also with lot of positive aspects such as survival, fight, truth and awareness that always can be worse than it already is. First album called Samokontrola was released in spring 2016. The band went through different lineup changes after recording first album. Ivan Molnar replaced Tihomir Vojnić on bass, and Palfi Čaba replaced Nyerges Tamas on drums. Further work from the band Otvoreni Prelom you will soon taste for yourselves, as the band already works on new album. Band members are: Mićo Krnjac - vocals Milan Simić Simke - guitar and backing vocals Kristian Bakalić - guitar Ivan Molnar - bass Palfi Čaba - drums

Search Add 5 Technicolor Noir Technicolor Noir TECHNICOLOR NOIR .. Noir as in "Film Noir", Movie buff, band songwriter & guitar player Astro's favorite film genre. And Technicolor as in "Technicolor Dreams" but, Noir. "Technicolor Noir" is the sub-genre where the Film Noir is shot in color... Hollywood colors! But, the story of the movie remains dark... which should be telling concerning our music versus our lyrics. A relatively new project, Technicolor Noir are from Paris' underground garage-rock scene; members feature : Astro, founder & lead guitarist, a veteran garage-rocker who previously played in the Tribe, Bang!, Scope, Bouton Rouge and numerous short-lived bands in-between... Eric, another veteran, but of the Paris indie pop-rock scene, mostly as ex.drummer and bassist in touring underground French singin' Power-Pop band, "La Moutarde Me Monte au Nez", with a record of 4 LPs; he now plays drums in Technicolor Noir... Yves, the original bass player who previously split after recording the group’s first 45 on “Dig The Fuzz’s Singles Club” limited issues is now back in the fold. He still leads, on the side (on guitar & vocals), his own Paris garage-rock band “Les Guillotines”, who had the privilege of being the first record released by the French indie label “Requiem Pour Un Twister” on their early subsidiary “Croque Macadam”. That label has since issued some records by “Triptides”, “The Proper Ornaments” or “The Young Sinclairs”... and Seva, direct from Russia, lead guitar and co-founder of the Karovas Milkshake, one of two of the most proeminent Russian garage-rock bands (the other being close friends, the Thunderbeats! ); he plays second guitar, alternating rhythm and leads, he sings lead on some tracks too. There you have the NEWEST line-up of this garage Folk-Rock project which started out as "Cloud Pilots" in 2013... ______ Members' bio. : Yves : likes singing about Guillotines (in French! ) and hunting wild ducks and boars when not singing hymns in churches on sundays! Dresses like a French Art Nouveau gentleman-detective (Hercule Poirot… with assorted mustache! ) and collects rare Garage 45s. A deerstalker cap would make his day, I presume. Seva : Russian spy and I with a French alibi. A delivery boy by trade, he fixes bicycles on the side but, after a past life making Karova Milkshakes, he really loves to quietly cultivate vegetables in his own backyard and occasionally teaches Jazz, writing musical scores. Currently Charging a Wave of Surf instrumental music… Astro : After watching late nights one too many Film Noirs, he had a bad Technicolor Dream that he should write garage-rock songs in his living-room... but, does so sporadically. He used to Bang and Scope out plans but nowadays, more often likes lazing around, listening to old records and going thru thrift-stores and bric-a-brocs on …lazy sunday afternoons; he’s a professional unemployed. An original Eastern halfcast « man-in-black », he hates Western patriots but likes their red, white and blue colors! • Eric : When not wearing casual jeans, tees and sneakers in his leisure time, bangin' on drums in his garage or breading children on weekends, he is the original Suit... the Man of Real Estate ! The only grown-up in the band who has a licence, drives a car around, takes care of business and manages the group’s budget. The most experienced of us all with 4 albums recorded under his belt... he is the Captain of our ship!

Fabbri released singles on his own labels (Fabbri Records, A & F, Fanum Fortunae, A Flat & F Sharp). In June 1977, he sang "The Phone Booth" on Gong Show, and got gonged when he "hammed it up". Fabbri performed his songs The Stinking Rose, a garlic-themed restaurant where he was a chef. Fabbri self-funded his music and typically recorded at cheap studios. In 1998, Tony released a compilation CD. He delivered a very confusing pitch at the offices of Music Connection Magazine to gain publicity for this album. Fabbri's last known recording was God Bless New York, a song he debuted on a 30 minute special called The Tony Fabbri Show. Fabbri passed away on Jul. 14, 2009.

Search Add 5 Ben Strik Ben Strik (1924), or Father Ben Strik, was known in Dutch as "De Zingende Pater" ("The Singing Father"). In the 70s he started with church services in Beverwijk in the North of Holland and eventually he went all over The Netherlands with it under the name "Die Aaghten Cantorij". The money made from donations and the release of records went to the "Brasil op Weg" foundation that funded projects for water wells, to volunteers that went to help in areas with leprosy and to agricultural co-operations in Brazil. More choirs joined Strik's initiatives to support these projects. He worked with choirs in Dutch villages and cities like Wognum, Utrecht and Tilburg. In his sermons he was always very straight forward against injustice and poverty in the world. Against all rules, Ben Strik was married to Vera Strik, and Strik was always firmly against celibacy. In a newspaper interview, Strik once said, quote: "The church looks at a married priest as a male prostitute". He died on Wednesday, the 12th of March 2014 at the age of 91.
