Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Drift Mouth | Originally conceived as a retirement gift for Lou Poster's father upon his completion of 37 years mining for Consolidation Coal in West Virginia, the first recording that would become the foundation for Drift Mouth was made in 2006. Poster and drummer Brad Swiniarski had met playing shows together in previous bands (Poster in Grafton, Swiniarski in Bob City, the Means, Bigfoot) but had never worked together in a writing/recording environment. The result was a collection of covers (Dark as a Dungeon) and originals (Loveridge is Burning) that captured a modern yet decidedly time-arrested feel, like an old photograph that somehow hasn't faded or yellowed. As sometimes happens with projects like these, once the sessions were finished the completed work was delivered to its intended audience of one, and shelved for later. Eight years later, as it turns out. As the conversations turned into practices, more pieces were added to the group: Marc Spurgeon, Craig Davidson, Josh “Roscoe” Draher, and Regan Tonti. More ideas were invited in, and the sounds grew to include multi-part harmonies and layered guitars. Over the years, inevitable lineup changes have taken place—in 2016 bass was picked up by Eric Johnson, while slide and rhythm guitar duties were taken over by Brett Burleson.

We had our first band in 1975 when I was 10 and Dave was 6 called David and The Overtones which was me on piano and Dave on drums. Over the years we ended up with the name Creepy Stick after an instrumental I wrote and turned into a three piece for a while in the early 90s with Max Brody on sax (ex-Ministry drummer). The first EP came out in 2005 and the second EP came out on Halloween 2017. More CS EPs will be coming out soon and will include Max on drums and sax and other noises as well as production and stuff. Search | Add | 5 | The Bleu Forest | Garage/psych band formed in 1966 in Ventura County, California. Members were Ron Barkley (lead guitar, vocals), Jack Caviness (drums), Mike Cullen (guitar, vocals), Gary Heuer (lead guitar, vocals), Ed Steele (drums, vocals), and Larry Wiseman (keyboards). USA produced such a vast variety of garage bands, that were highly influenced by major known bands of the time like Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix & The Experience and The Grateful Dead. Every little town in the US has been over-flooded with teenagers full of enthusiasm and ideas reflecting the electrifying times, when everything suddenly seemed to be possible. One of the better local bands, that came and went with the '60s fading into plastic '70s were Ventura County’ Bleu Forest. So far only a handful of people heard these 1968 unreleased recordings, which were hidden in Caviness (only surviving member) basement and let me say this: What we have here is a lost psych-garage classic. A crossover between groovy melodies of Moby Grape mixed with Steppenwolf heaviness.

Search | Add | 5 | Jason Staal | Jason was one of three vocalists en songwriters from the group Asman, founded in Assen, The Netherlands as a schoolproject in 1999/2000. By 2008 the remaining trio continued to perform Dutch songs in the vein of Acda & De Munnick and Veltdhuis & Kemper. Their distinctive sound, three voices harmonizing, was already apparent on their debut album, 'Mijn Wereld', released 2006. In 2008 they released their second album, 'Eerst Is Nu Wel Klaar' as a full blown six piece rockband. The album was an improvement to it's predecessor in sound and songwriting qualities. Their third and last studio album 'Bijna Voor Elkaar' (2012) was another improvement but it turned out to be their last full album of new work. The follow-up was an acoustic live version of 'Bijna Voor Elkaar', recorded in an intimate setting for a small selected audience. The set was also filmed and released on DVD. With no recording contract and a breaktrough elusive the group called it a day in 2015, playing a farewell gig on September 12, 2015 in 'De Nieuwe Kolk' in Assen. After the break-up of Asman Jason embarked on a solo career beginning with the album 'Daggedachten' which got quite some airplay on the Dutch national radio. The folllow up album was called 'Nachtgedachten' and continues in the vain of his debut album. In 2019 he was invited to record a live version of 'Nachtgedachten' in front of an audience in Nijend in the Dutch village of Anderen. After a relatively quite period of time Jason released his album 'Tussen Twijfel En Tijd' which shows Jason matured as a songwriter as well as a musician. The album has songs in various moods and styles, but are all recorded with a full blown and competent backing group.

Search | Add | 5 | Serial Vice | Serial Vice are an Heavy Metal band based in Southern Italy. The idea to found a band was born in 2011 from Alessandro Scorrano (drums) and Andrea Donaera (guitar). After some line-up changes, in 2013 another guitarist, Matteo Cirfeda, joins the project, and in the same year the band recorded the first single "Heroin". In the middle of 2014 bassist Stefano Bianchini and singer Giacomo Albanese joins Serial Vice: with this line-up, the band consolidates in live performances and profiling his sound into a Heavy Metal between classic and modern, gritty and melodic, with various and extensive influences - from Hard Rock to Thrash, from Doom to Power. Between January and February 2015 the band recorded his first EP "Nightmares Come True", with release finally scheduled for 2017 for Sliptrick Records label, and supported by the single "You Are Heroin" (new version of the song "Heroin"), a self-produced three songs demo and by an official video (Master of No-Life). In 2021, four years after the release of the band's highly acclaimed first work, the group releases the new single "The Edge of Fragility", which marks the end of the course started with the first album and the beginning of a new stylistic phase for the band.

Search | Add | 5 | Kiley Joe Masson | Kiley Joe Masson was born on October 6th 1975 and grew up in the town of Princeton, ON, and it was here he honed his skills as a vocalist and a rock and roll piano player. Early in his career Kiley Joe was mentored and directed by Bill ‘OJ’ Oja, the former manager of Maple Street in the 70’s and Terry Sumsion in the early 80’s. Bill went on to work as a reporter for the Country Music News while maintaining his fulltime job with the Hamilton Board of Education. In July of 1993 Kiley Joe won his category in the ‘Male Eighteen and Under’ at the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest held in Simcoe, ON. On December 4th 1993 his original song “Sitting In The Corner Of A Bar-Room,” was recorded and produced by none other than Larry Mercey. In early 1994 the song was released to radio on a special CD produced by the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest Board. Between January 23rd and March 1st 1994 Kiley Joe and Thom Ryerson partook in a song-writing course together with eight other people, presented through Fanshawe College in Woodstock, ON, and taught by singer/songwriter Jack (Flinsenberg) London. Kiley Joe discussed his own composition ‘Sittin’ In The Corner Of A Bar-Room’ while Thom presented his original song ‘Prey Time.’ The entire class wrote a song together called ‘Classified Love.’ Over the years Jack London has pushed his own version of ‘Classified Love’ at various websites, production companies and record labels, to absolutely no avail. In 1999 Kiley Joe released a song he wrote in high school called ‘A Soldier’s Memories.’ This composition is regularly featured on radio each and every Remembrance Day. In November of 2001 Kiley Joe participated in ‘Showcase 2001’ in Brantford. Columnist Glen Silverthorn reported, “This young man has it all: extreme talent on the keyboards and a fabulous voice. Once again he was a crowd favourite as he brought to life to many a country song from his extensive repertoire.” Kiley Joe knows close to a thousand songs from country to jazz, from the fifties to the sixties, and is a tremendous entertainer in his own right. After working as a single act for more than fifteen years, Kiley Joe currently performs with a five piece band at jamborees and country music festivals across Southern Ontario. When he’s not performing his own shows, he plays piano in the band Sweet Dreams backing Amberley Beatty’s ‘Legendary Patsy Cline Tour.’ He also plays piano and harmonica in the Butcher Holler Boys for the ‘Loretta Lynn Show,’ also presented by Amberley Beatty. As well, he plays piano and harmonica in two Robert Gill tributes; ‘The Waylon Jennings/Highwaymen Show’ and the ‘George Jones Show.’ Kiley Joe’s father, Paul, organizes the Crimson Hollow Barn Dance, which is held on his farm in Vienna, ON. Several years ago Kiley Joe was looking for a bass player to play at Crimson Hollow, and met bassist/vocalist Paul Newell. Kiley Joe incorporates Paul into as many projects as possible. Paul is about as Thunderbird as you can get. Both Paul Newell and Kiley Joe are regulars in Fred Lewis’ country outfit “Ridin’ High,” based in Woodstock. The three aforementioned musicians are all very well acquainted with the Commercial Tavern in Maryhill, ON. Presently Kiley Joe is playing with his band ‘The Rhythm Associates’ with Dale Rivard on steel guitar, Don Maxwell on bass, Ray Ovington on drums, and Kiley Joe singing, playing keyboards, and saxophone. On October 19th 2017 Kiley Joe and Paul Newell performed live at a talk given by Thom Ryerson at the Burford Public Library. Christmas with Kiley Joe was held on December 7th 2019 at Old St. Paul’s Anglican Church in downtown Woodstock. His show was followed by seasonal treats and beverages.

Search | Add | 5 | La Bruja Muerta | [a=La Bruja Muerta] project consists of [a=B.D. Foxmoor] and [a=Jamoan]. B.D.Foxmoor (Michalis Mitakides) of [a=Active Member] and Jamoan (Akis Theotokatos) started up this project meaning actually the dead witch, with the only motive to have something to hear when they join. Eventually, this project turned out to be a trilogy of albums, all released by Imantas Label. The ‘dead witch’ concept had firstly begun like a tale (it can be found fully orchestrated in Sadahzinia’s Sarma album). Afterwards, -and according to the tale-, the in line tracks of the first album had lay like a ‘curse’ upon the two contributors while, during recording, they both suffered injuries, broken legs the first one(!) and arms the other one(!). Later, after the ‘curse’ had gone and the witch died for good, the first part of the trilogy was completed and quickly the next one was about to begin… In mid-February 2011, the first double album of this project was released by Imantas Label bearing the title The Words that Circled the Darkness. [a=B.D. Foxmoor] along with the rush of the city and the memories of the darkness of his life, and Jamoan, with the breeze of the sea at Syros’ ship construction zone where he lives for the last two years and having deep inside him lowbap’s feeling, meaning and sense, meet together in order to create some run-away, dark ballads strongly characterized by the sound of guitars, violin and of course, voicing. Michalis Mitakides involved himself in more than 140 record releases since 1992. [a=Jamoan] (Akis Theotokatos), on the other hand, is present in almost every lowbap track including a guitar –and this number is not a negligeable one indeed! He has managed to discover his own personal sound which hits directly to the audience’s heart. Michalis’ lyrics, being deeply personal, feel the present and are most of all fully aware of the times. In this way, all the material born from this need managed to create a trilogy released in less than a year’s time. The second album came by the title Winter as it also consists of the soundtrack of the film of the same name directed by Costas Coutsoliotas (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxQNBxP-RFQ&feature=plcp). As for the packaging of this album is a completely different one, being a blank-paged hard-cover book which awaits to be filled with thoughts, drawings and whatever else expresses a person. The third part of the trilogy comes along with the name Last Free Days; an exact sample of its time and days. To be precise, its music and lyrics were prepared in just a few days in February 2012. La Bruja Muerta (B.D.Foxmoor & Jamoan) has already toured in many places across Greece presenting this trilogy and these nights unfold, undoubtedly, a unique magic which leaves its spells to act indirectly and very drastically indeed among the audience. Whoever has watched a live act like the one described, he would definitely had felt it. Within La Bruja Muerta project, the atmosphere completely stands out from any other music project introduced by LowBap.

Search | Add | 5 | Bud Petal | Eran Asoulin | Bud Petal is the stage name of musician Eran Asoulin, who with his band has now released 4 albums. His music has been described as “cerebral art-folk”, “a true outsider, a freak-folk wunderkind”. He was “discovered” when his self-produced first album was pulled from the trash at a local radio station. A self-taught musician from The Levant, he spent his teenage years immersed in the bohemian/DIY art scene of Newtown, Sydney. His music collides Mediterranean 70s/80s folk pop (Lucio Battisti, Nada Malanima, Aviv Geffen), the Middle Eastern/Arabic music of his childhood (Marcel Khalife, Oum Khaltoum) and from the West: early Joan Baez and elements of free jazz. His voice is a glorious, glissading din with stuttering vibrato. Lyrically you’ll find an oddly surreal, socialist-humanist world with strands of Emile Zola, A. B. Yehoshua, Yaakov Shavtai, Andre Breton, Noam Chomsky, Naomi Klein, and John Pilger. As well as receiving airplay in radio stations all over Australia, in Berlin, in Paris, and in the United States, Bud Petal has curated and featured in shows at the Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide Fringe Festivals. |

Search | Add | 5 | The Saltire Music Group | The Saltire Music Group was a Scottish chamber music ensemble based in Edinburgh and co-founded in 1950 by composer and violinist [a=Isobel Dunlop] (1901—1975) and German opera conductor [a=Hans Oppenheim] (1892—1965). In 1951, the collective was expanded by a vocal quartet, [a=The Saltire Singers]. The project began under The Saltire Society auspices, a community established in 1936 to disseminate the country's cultural heritage ("saltire" in the name stands for the St. Andrew's Cross, a national symbol on the Flag of Scotland). Isobel Dunlop joined the Saltire Society circa 1948 after serving as the [l=Scottish Arts Council]'s Assistant National Officer for five years. She soon decided to organize an early music ensemble, and the Society invited a notable opera conductor of Jewish origins, Hans Oppenheim, who has lived in Great Britain since 1934, fleeting Nazi persecution in his homeland Germany. Following the debut concert series in late 1950 at Gladstone's Land, a 17th-century house in Edinburgh's Old Town and the Saltire Society's headquarters, the Saltire Music Group embarked on the second season. The ensemble featured professional and amateur musicians and performed a broad repertoire, from old English songs to new works commissioned by contemporary Scottish composers, plus vocal and instrumental pieces by Isobel Dunlop. They regularly participated in the [l=Edinburgh Festival] and produced several albums on [l=Columbia].

Search | Add | 5 | Insidiae | Insidiae | Insidiae was a Progressive Modern Metal band from Friesland, The Netherlands. They disbanded in February 2013. Below is the band's biography for archive and information purposes: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was October 2010 when a couple of good friends that had already made music together in the past decided to form a proper band. With Jelle Hamstra behind the drum kit, Janneke Smids on keys, Siegfried Kramer on lead guitar, Paulus Kramer on bass and Harm-Jan Broekema as vocalist the band was already nearly complete. Soon after Jeroen Bosma joined the band to play rhythm guitar and they were good to go. The band was christened Insidiae which is a Latin word meaning ambush or treachery. The word Insidiae is technically a plural form which has no singular. Though when translated it does refer to a singular concept and in that way it relates to being in a band. It takes multiple people to form a band that is itself one entity. A genre or style of music was never really stipulated but grew in a natural way with each song that was written. Resulting in the sound that now defines Insidiae. Dynamic, heavy as well as melodic, with a strong groove and a progressive edge. The songs themselves are what’s important and as long as they have an interesting progression and their components do not feel pieced together; almost anything goes. When it comes to lyrical content the band tends to focus itself on the darker side of the human psyche. In a little over a year Insidiae was already fortunate enough to open for big international acts such as Sonic Syndicate and Blaze Bayley as well as well known national bands like Autumn and God Dethroned. Meanwhile the recording of some demo tracks led to joining a collective of progressive metal bands called “Layered Reality Productions”. The band was also part of a compilation album, released only on Vinyl, that went by the name of “Frisian Metal Massacre Volume 1” alongside the befriended local acts; Leaper’s Path, Dimaeon and Disintegrate. This project in itself led to multiple new initiatives. Tamme Oosterhof, the man behind this compilation, started his own record label called Big Bad Wolf Records and in April 2012 Insidiae was the first act to be signed to this label. While members of Insidiae and Dimaeon started their own organisation called “Metalization” in order to organise gigs and other activities to help upcoming metal bands and musicians. In its relatively short existence there have also been some negative developments for Insidiae however. Chief among those being the long term illness of the band’s singer as well as multiple line-up changes. Jeroen Nauta took the place of Jeroen Bosma on rhythm guitar at the end of December 2011. And Jean-Luc Nealon replaced Paulus Kramer on bass guitar when he decided to quit the band early March 2012. All the while the work on the first album titled “Were Demons Dare” was continuing furiously and it is currently set for a release in the summer of 2012. This will mark the dawn of the new Insidiae that is now ready to rock as many venues as possible in order to earn its rightful place in the metal scene! |

Search | Add | 5 | Adriana Petit | Adriana Petit (Palma de Mallorca, 1984) is a multidisciplinary artist. Media she uses includes photography, collage, music, writing, painting, and video; although in his work the content prevails over the format, exploring the relationship between opposites from an autobiographical and deconstructionist perspective. The lack of academic training and institutional coverage, place her on the margins of the conventional artistic context, and digital platforms such as Tumblr, Flickr, Bandcamp or YouTube are its usual exhibition channels.

Search | Add | 5 | Giedrius Zinkus | Giedrius Zinkus | DJ Zinkus, a.k.a. Giedrius Zinkus is a Lithuanian DJ, born on the 20th of August 1969. With a combination of different layers of pop and modern house music, Zinkus creates danceable music that perfectly fits the requirement of any contemporary event. In 1993 Zinkus launched a career as a professional DJ, which resulted in the acclaimed album ‘XX Amžiaus Mėsmalė’ (Twentieth century mincer) in 1995. An experimental release with electronic music that was strongly influenced with the modern classical genre. In 1999 Zinkus decided to take a step back from the music industry and explore other fields of interest. However, his passion for producing and entertaining kept lurking in his mind, and made him decide to realise a comeback in 2011. Older, wiser and with years of experience Zinkus is now producing danceable tracks on a continuous basis. Taking ultimate pop songs (e.g. Michael Jackson, George Michael) and turning them into unique and high-level house tunes. To create an exclusive and diverse vibe during live-performances, Zinkus mixes layers of Jazz, Orchestra, Folk, Middle East instruments and Actor speech into his tracks. A true artist with a high level of musical qualities, passion, and the ability to entertain a crowd; who operates according the principle ‘Party people may never be bored’! |
