Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Manuel Savu | Manuel Savu | Romanian musician, was born on November 29th. The year 1986 finds Manu as the guitarist of a famous Romanian rock band, playing on the most important stage of the nation, in front of a delirious crowd. Another defining moment is the year 1988, when he buys his first. Fender Stratocaster guitar - this is the beginning of Manu's love for Fender guitars. He spent the following years touring Romania with the biggest rock bands of the moment, and even with a blues band of which he has fond memories. During those years he discovered and honed his compositional abilities, the result consisting in over 10 albums for which he wrote the music. These albums appeared on the market mostly under the name of the bands of which he was part at the time, but there were also a few that he composed for well-known solo artists from Romania. |

Search | Add | 3 | Hoyt Herbert | North Carolina banjoist and former deejay of Sunday Evening Bluegrass on WFMX radio in Statesville, NC. Died July 5, 2019 at age 87. Herbert began picking banjo at age 14, citing the late Snuffy Jenkins as his inspiration. He toured with Charlie Monroe in the mid 1950s, and recorded two projects with country star Lefty Frizell on Columbia Records in 1953. His band of 14 years, the Lincoln County Partners, became well known to Charlotte, NC television audiences in the 1960s with weekly appearances (for eight years) on the Bill Hefner Show. Herbert picked the five string along with Ken Poovey on fiddle, JD Setzer on guitar and Edd Wagoner on bass. The band recorded an album, It’s Just the Chance You’ve Waited For, in 1974. Herbert recorded another album with members in a spin-off group called the Strings of Five in 1980 on Star Records entitled Fret High. (Members: Hoyt Herbert-banjo, Ken Poovey-fiddle, Dewey Farmer-mandolin, Lester Deaton-guitar, Jimmy Miller-bass.) Known as the “Voice Of Bluegrass,” Herbert served as host of a 3 hour Sunday evening bluegrass show on Statesville’s WFMX 105.7 radio station for over 30 years, playing and promoting both professional and regional bands in the bluegrass genre.

Search | Add | 3 | Les Masochats | Electronic project by French DJ, producer, and POF Music owner Fred Giteau and Serbian producer Dr. Vaki, active in 1998-99. Assisted by a guitarist and a percussionist, Les Masochats produced a full album in 1998, that was eventually released in 2023. The name "Les Masochats" is a French-Serbian word-play. Fred Giteau’s first wife and mother of his daughter Yelena was nicknamed "Maca" or "Maso" ("cat" in Serbian). Fred added the French equivalent "Chats" to form "Les Masochats" (cat-cat), a direct reference to the romantic musical film "Les Aristochats" (The Aristocats). The duo produced music with a simple keyboard and Cubase at Vaki’s room studio. Percussion and guitar were played and recorded live, and later technically processed. The style of Les Masochats is a mixture of techno, groovy and rhythmic claps that break and restart, bongos, and guitars reminiscent of S.U.N. Project. Some tracks incorporate riffs of traditional Serbian music.

Search | Add | 3 | Miroslav Matušić | Miroslav Matušić was born on December 19, 1925. in Brodica, a Roma-Vlach village in Zvižd. Already at the age of seven, he started playing the trumpet with local orchestras, at all important events in the town. Before the Second World War, he married Bosa, a girl from the village, with whom he had six children. After the end of the war, he decides to found his own ensemble. Although he was not musically literate, he managed to stand out thanks to his inexhaustible talent. In 1957, he recorded his famous round "Brodijanka" with Krnjevč's ensemble, shortly after that "Majdanka", and it was these singles that made him a well-known trumpet player in all of Serbia. He conveyed the magic of Eastern Serbia through sound, and thus managed to become the first trumpet of Radio Belgrade, as well as the Krnjevče Ensemble. In the 1960s, Matušić most liked to play with accordion players, and especially with his children, that is, Velizar Matušić's orchestra, which at one time was one of the best folk orchestras in Serbia. Together, they were an irreplaceable part of the "Homoljski Motifs" exhibition of folk art in Kučevo, founded in 1968. He also appeared in two television series, "Love in a rural way" and "Citizens of the village of Luga" with the famous Silvana Armenulić. In the mid-seventies, he recorded his only album "Handful of songs by Miroslav Matušić" for "Jugodisk". On one side of the record there are 12 Serbian folk songs: "Pšeničice sitno seme", "Where will you be beautiful Kejo", "Last night when I went deer hunting", "My rose bloomed this morning", "What time is it?" ", "I was surprised, aman, I", "Ah, my Alyo", "I'm a little gypsy", "Here is joy to my heart", "Kaleš bro Anđo", "Oj devojča Piroćanča" and "Do you know, dear, where our places". And on the second, nine Wallachian songs: "Ozelenela dolina", "Vlaška poskočica", "My dagane", "I have no father, I have no mother", "Momačka sad", "In the early dawn", "Send off the godfather", "Green leaf from hazelnuts" and "Hey youth". A successful career and popularity that exceeded the borders of the country marked his life. He died on April 13, 1991, and was buried in Kučevo. He spent the last years of his life in Rabrov, where he lived with his second wife. Source EBranicevo

Search | Add | 3 | Katie J White | Originally from a very small town, Denmark in Western Australia, singer, songwriter, guitarist and bass player, Katie J White has taken her music as far as London and she has played literally hundreds of venues across Australia from Broome WA to the Sunshine Coast QLD. Her career began at age 14 when she supported The Waifs in front of thousands of people. Katie J White took out the 2016 West Australian Music Industry (WAMI) Song Of The Year Award for the Blues and Roots category with her song 'River'. 'Warrior', another track of her EP, was also nominated that year, following a double nomination in 2015 with her song 'Gypsy'. This makes three out of five tracks on her third EP WAMI nominated. In January 2017 her 4th album, ‘Red Cloud’ was released, featuring Katie’s ability to tell deep stories, through song, and also the range of musical styles she had mastered at the age of 23, from stripped back folk songs recorded with nothing but her and her guitar, to heavy and moving rock ballads driven by Katie’s bass playing style. A national tour in 2018 which includes 60 gigs in 6 months across Australia. Katie has played at all the main folk festivals in WA, including full house performances at Western Australia's renowned Fairbridge, Nukara, Nannup, and Perth International Arts Festivals. Katie's prides herself on the depth of her poetic original songs. They unfailingly take the listener on a moving journey led by her astounding vocals. Her sheer honesty and ability to tell a tail so richly within 3-5 minutes is something very unique. She exposes herself and most tragic times of life in songs like ‘Daddy in the Sky’, and shares the challenges of living in London at age 19 in songs like ‘Gypsy’. Then there’s the all heart and soul songs like “Home’ which dive into unconditional love and devotion. There is something that will touch every listener across Katie’s original song collection, and her unforgettable voice will stay with you long after the gig is over.

Search | Add | 3 | Matheos Sprague | Matheos' eclectic and modern approach to energizing original productions and remixing has made a unique niche in the genre of electronica and dance music. Whether it's twisting classic sounds with modern beats, or updating past legends with fresh remixes, he creates a unique vibe for the dancefloor and the lounge scene. Born to a Greek mother and an Irish/American Father, Matheos has had the benefit of being raised in various places around the globe, such as Texas, Germany, Crete, Italy, California, France, Ohio, Thessaloniki, and New York, which is what has led to this new eclectic and worldly method of production and remixing. Being exposed to many different environments and cultures has had an impact on his music and creative process. After high school, which is where he started Djing at school dances and outdoor events, he went on to college at 17 in New York City at Parson's School of Design. For the first year in NYC he was a regular on the show Club MTV, which allowed him the opportunity and exposure to such diverse artists as Big Daddy Kane, Sheena Easton, DJ Easy Rock, Souxie Soux and the Banchees, The Dead Milkmen, Information Society, Samantha Fox, to name a few. His second year of college was spent in Paris, France, where he immersed himself in the European dance scene of the late 80's. He then came back to New York City to finish his degree at Parson's and upon graduating, he landed a high profile design job in Munich, Germany. After 4 years there, he came back again to NYC to work for Tommy Hilfiger. Coming back to NYC is when he started to pursue his production and remixing passions in the studio. Matheos' first project was producing an original album fusing opera and electronica. During this time he also started working with the Greek-Cypriot singer, ALEXIA, producing 3 new original tracks, and remixing her retrospective CD. On the remix front, his first project was remixing ANN MARGRET's remix project, which was used for her North American tour. After doing a remix for MERV GRIFFIN in L.A., and upon Mr. Griffin's suggestion, he was inspired to compile a remix project entitled, 'REVIVA VEGAS', which includes remixes of Vegas legends such as Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Cher, Freda Payne, Peggy Lee, Wayne Newton, Tom Jones, and Liberace. Matheos continues to branch out on various projects such as his new 'GREEK TRAVELS' album, which fuses ancient Greek instruments and elements with modern electronica, 'Electro-Mythology'. Also in the works is a Greek remix compilation titled 'HELLENIC FLAVA', with modern club remixes of such famous Greek artists as; Haris Alexiou, Marinella, Aleki Youvouklaki, [a=Despina Vandi], [a=Anna Vissi], and Elli Kokkinou. His productions and remixes have been played in clubs and lounges around the world such as London, Mykonos, Munich, Los Angeles, Athens, New York, Miami, Paris, and Las Vegas. Matheos is deeply involved in the worlds of Fashion, Art, and Music, and will continue to gel and fuse in new ways the broad arena of global culture.

Search | Add | 3 | Mirra Alfassa | Mirra Alfassa (21 February 1878 – 17 November 1973), known to her followers as The Mother, was a spiritual guru, an occultist and a collaborator of Sri Aurobindo, who considered her to be of equal yogic stature to him and called her by the name "The Mother". She founded the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and established Auroville as a universal town; she was an influence and inspiration to many writers and spiritual personalities on the subject of Integral Yoga. Mirra Alfassa was born in Paris on 1878 to a bourgeois family. In her youth, she travelled to Algeria to practise occultism under Max Théon. After returning, she travelled around the world and finally settled in Pondicherry, India with Sri Aurobindo and his followers. With growing numbers of followers, the settlement was turned into an ashram over the years, where she worked with Sri Aurobindo in establishing Integral Yoga and guiding its pupils. In 1943, she started a school in the ashram and in 1968 established Auroville, an experimental township free from discrimination of nationality, language, creed and politics. She died on 17 November 1973 in Pondicherry.

Search | Add | 3 | Linda Lou McCall | Linda Lou McCall | Linda Lou's career spans almost 4 decades, starting as a photography and publicist, and now as a songwriter & music industry consultant specializing in entertainment marketing, street promotion, and artist development. She has worked with veterans like The Delfonics and Con Funk Shun to contemporary artists like MC Hammer and Eminem. While with Con Funk Shun, she designed album covers, created album concepts, served as the production assistant on their albums, and co-wrote songs for the band like "California 1", "Bad Lady", "Honey Wild", "Promise You Love", and "I Think I Found The Answer". She went on to be a VP with rap megastar MC Hammer from 1990 to 1992. In 1992, Linda Lou formed The Entertainment Qartel, Inc, (EQartel), specializing in music business administration, entertainment marketing and street promotion. She relocated from North Hollywood to Atlanta in 1994 and quickly built up a solid client base with artists like OutKast, Goodie Mob, Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy, T.L.C., Jay-Z, Will Smith, Three-6 Mafia, Tupac, Faith Evans, and 112. As a member of the first Interscope Records Street Team, her Atlanta-based Rhyme Scene Unit Street Marketing Task Force was instrumental in the success of the debut albums of Eminem, Mya, and the Black Eyed Peas. Linda Lou was the wife of Con Funk Shun co-founder & drummer, Louis A. McCall, whom she met while they both worked at Stax Records in the mid 1970's. Louis was killed in a home invasion robbery in 1997. Linda Lou spent the next decade fighting to keep Louis' case from going cold, even persuading the Governor of Georgia to reopen the case in 2003. Her hard work finally paid off - on January 18, 2007, a Dekalb County, GA grand jury indicted a suspect on a felony murder charge. The case went to trial on July 21, 2008. However, due to problems with the state's case, the judge declared a mistrial just hours after the jury began deliberation. Linda Lou asked that the defendant not be retried so that she and her children could get on with their lives. Linda Lou excepts select consulting projects through her company Exxtra Foxx Music, LLC, the music publishing company that she's owned since 1981. In her spare time, Linda Lou volunteers as a consumer protection activist and lupus awareness advocate. She been a voting member of The Recording Academy ("The Grammy Awards") since 1977. The songs that she wrote for Con Funk Shun continue to be in demand. "Honey Wild", recorded by Con Funk Shun in 1980, was recently sampled for "Kush" by rapper Lil Wayne on his top-selling album, "Tha Carter III", released in June 2008. Along with partner Ruben L. Harper and her son Louis A. McCall II, she heads up a team of producer/songwriters. She has recently expanded the services of Exxtra Foxx Music to include consulting in song publishing and sample clearances. One of Linda Lou's photographs taken of the legendary R&B trio The Delfonics is included in the Smithsonian Institute's exhibition "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing: How the Apollo Theater Shaped American Entertainment" at the National Museum of African-American History & Culture, currently in Washington, DC through August 2011, and touring the country until 2012. |

His work is distinguished by a unique mixing style, unexpected blending of songs and an unusually wide range of tempo in one program. Martmixes are extremely well arranged, the job is done in the distinctive Dutch mega-mixing style: a kicker-intro (usually a vocoder) and an eclectic selection of favorite songs of the year. Martin was among the first mixers in Holland who used a PC and Cool Edit ™ software, and as the result of his innovations he is able to compile very stylish, suave and delightful mixes. Martin also recorded a very successful commercial mix for Hypersound Productions, the company headed by Humphrey Robertson (a composer / producer from Switzerland known for his work with Cyber People, Digitronic, Private Movies, Sharon, Veronique etc.).

Search | Add | 3 | Pombajira | Formed in late 2017, POMBAJIRA was created by ex-Grave Desecrator Hellson Röcha. Soon enough, he roped in a drummer and also his old guitar-playing friend Blizzard. After a year of wasting time with this drummer, T. Splatter (Velho, Lápide, Poem's Death etc) took up the drum duties. Directly influenced by bands like Black Sabbath, Hellhammer, Venom, Pentagram, as well as others of a similar dark ilk. POMBAJIRA's moniker derives from their Afro-Brazilian cultural roots and serves as a foundation to flirt with the enigmatic spiritual imagery and sometimes superstitious atmosphere which is around them. In addition to their personal experiences, the band is influenced by magick, rebellion, sarcasm, and darkness. What results is uniquely POMBAJIRA, and what the band brand HEAVY ROCK INFERNO!
