Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 11 Michael R R Wilson Michael R. Wilson The smooth yet uniquely quirky sound that is: michael ЯR wilson Music has always been a part of Michael’s life in one form or another – from singing Blue Skies when cooking Yorkshire puddings in the kitchen, to breakdancing to one of the many 80’s hit musical creations, all the while embracing a diverse library of music and song writing through experience and expression. The results being rewarding and simultaneously addictive. Michael’s musical influences are vast and include Tom Petty, Prince, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Blue Rodeo, Supertramp and the less likely genres of classical music and old time country which ground his soul! Michael’s music style is reflective of his passion for music, life, love, and the freedom to create. Michael finds music to be an inspiration as he continues on the road of self-discovery and exploration with his guitar in hand. As an established Chef de cuisine who enjoys creating culinary delights, Michael began to dabble into the creative aspects of music. With a successful career and happy home life, Michael was looking for a new avenue to express himself. It started by picking up a guitar and signing casually with friends, learning new chords along the way! Fast forward a few years, and following his return to his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, music took a new hold of his soul. Developing his singer/songwriter skills, Michael grew as a musician and learnt to play drums, bass and piano. This lead to his interest in the recording and mixing aspects of producing songs, and he embraced the challenge of a home recording studio. Along the way, the want turned to need to progress, and so was born Supry Sound Productions. Since, more singles have been written, recorded, produced and mixed in this same space, many more instruments have joined the first guitar, and collaborations with other artists are on the horizon.

Search Add 11 WastedSky [b]Состав:[/b] [a=Владимир Рысин] (2006-2023) [a=Иван Гришкин] (с 2006) [a=Валерий (Лерыч) Руденок] (с 2006) [a=Григорий Минаков] (с 2006) [a=Алексей Курячев] (с 2015) [a=Юрий Белков] (с 2016) Группа WastedSky начала формироваться весной 2006 года в городе Павловский Посад (Московская область).

He was signed to [l39357] by [a916151] ([a10584]'s husband). He was, very briefly, a member of [a699393] in 1958 but didn't last long enough to record with them. According to Marv Goldberg's essay on the group he was fired after they did some dates at the Golden Hotel in Las Vegas around spring 1958. It looks as if he abandoned his singing career to work in promotion - he was appointed the R&B promotion manager for [l59627] in June 1967 but didn't last long there as he was working for [l46437] by early 1968. He was one of the promotion men for [l34533] in 1970 then moved back to New York in 1971 to work at the short-lived New York Sound label. In January '72 he was working for [a202256]'s [l19965] label as their promotion man for the East Coast and later, in 1976, was made R&B promotion manager for the [l1060] presumably working on the [a136273] and [a693150]. It is doubted that lasted very long as the US London label was on its last legs by that time. The trail goes cold after 1976. It's guessed he long since retired from the music business.

Novarese also established the Marian Priest League and the Brothers and Sisters of the Sick; he built several homes for those who were ill and disabled. He served in the Secretariat of State until leaving that position to work alongside the Italian Episcopal Conference and to dedicate more time to the ill and to the work of his orders. Novarese was beatified in mid-2013; Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone beatified him on the behalf of Pope Francis in the Basilica di San Paolo fuori le Mura.

Search Add 10 The B.B.C. Wireless Military Band The B.B.C Wireless Military Band, later renamed the B.B.C Military Band ran from September 1927 until 1943, with a repertoire largely made up of orchestral works. It had a staff arranger Gerrard Williams and was conducted by Walton O'Donnell, succeeded in 1937 by his brother, Major P.S.G. O'Donnell. ( It is possible that this change of conductor led to the dropping of the word Wireless from the band name) The band proved immensely popular and had original pieces written for it by, amongst others, Alan Bush and Gustav Holst. The B.B.C decided to axe the band in the 1940s and despite much protests it gave its final performance at 9.40 pm on Tuesday, 16 March 1943.

Search Add 10 Dil-E-Nadan Dil-E-Nada is a decades-old band which has had a rotating membership over the years. Sangeeta D'Songstar of Chutneymusic dot com provides a brief hstory of the band: "Dil e nadan was formed in 1957 by the late Usaf Khan and Ramnarine Moonilal. Dil e nadan won the Prime Minister’s Trophy for best indian orchestration which was judged by the late great Mohammed Rafi 1962. The band enjoyed a lot of success in the years to follow and dominated the local indian industry. In the 80’s the band toured mainly Canada,Guyana and Suriname and boasted the best local singers the country had at the time. (Nazimool and Ruby, Ras Nancoo). In the mid 80’s Ramnarine’s two sons Rennie and Raymond joined the group as percussionists then moving on to trumpets, and then Guitars and Keyboards. With the push from then manager Haseeb Majid ,Raymond started his career as a lead singer. He entered the national duet singing competition with Swarsati Maraj in 1989 and won first place. This proved to be the start of the rise of the Indian Culture among the youths in Trinidad and Tobago. The next year (1990) Raymond entered Mastana Bahar where he placed Second in the grand finals (a result which still has unanswered questions). Rennie the eldest of the brothers also sang in the finals. That same year the youngest of the brothers Richard joined the band as a Tabla and Dholak player. The band did their first show in New York in 1993 at York College in Queens. (the show was sold out 1 week in advance) Then in 1996 the band was signed to Soca Paradise (Ramesh Singh) and released there first C.D. People’s Choice. The success seemed to have just started as the band became the first band to tour Holland and Spain in 1997. In 1999 Richard became the youngest manager in Trinidad at only 19. Soon after dil e nadan became the first chutney group to perform at the world renowned Brass Festival and Youth fest. Dil e nadan holds the record for the most awards at the 103fm awards show (24).The band is currently sponsored by Bmobile and Stag. Dil e nadan recently signed a Five year deal in Holland with Bollywood LTD for performances in Europe."

This junction of genres (in this case, the junction of ideologies, since the two segments transcend the pure concept of “styles” and reach the idea of musical cultures) is nothing new in the Brazilian scene, what is new is the way in which this paraibano achieves this dialogue so naturally. O Bruxo do Cariri Velho, as he became known in the music industry, travels through virtually all segments of northeastern music, from toada to baião, as well as various segments of good old Rock'n'Roll, from Progressive/Psychedelic to blues and Heavy Metal, establishing a strong musical accent, which the artist himself conceptualizes as Rock-Baião. His poetics, while denouncing strong influences from northeastern cordelistas and repentistas, bear subtle traits from the most diverse literary poets. With fifteen years of career, Júnior Cordeiro managed to establish a strong characteristic: the peculiarity of the themes covered in his discography. The mythical and mystical Northeast, the Iberian heritage, popular magic, messianic delusions, rustic and sertanejo Catholicism, western occultism, metaphysics and existential questions, madness and many other intricate subjects, come together in a fixed idea of verification and denunciation of the evils of man's objectification in liquid and globalizing post-modernity, in a rich and fertile field of imagery, where the collective imagination is always present and invigorated. From his first album (Carrascais/2006), to O Lago Misterioso/2011, Capa Preta/2013, Sonhos, Sertão & Loucura/2016, Céu, Hades e outros Porvires/2018, Vênus Philpeia/2019, #CâmaraEco/2021, until it culminates in his newest work, Infinito Migrar/2022, Cordeiro navigates his sea of musical information, always willing to approach different themes related to human nature."

Search Add 10 The Original Gospel Chimes The Gospel Chimes started singing in the late 1950s, and their home base was Chicago, Illinois. Just who formed the group is a mystery, some sources claim James Cleveland, and others say Jessy Dixon. Both men were just starting to rise in the field of gospel, spreading their talents among the group as well as choirs. James and Jessy were a perfect match, they sang alike, both phrased in a modern quasi-pop manner on ballads. They were both composers' and wrote and arranged a number of the songs the group did. The harmonies they arranged for the Chimes mediated between 1950s gospel groups and the evolving choir sounds. The Chimes released four albums on the HOB label, before moving to the Savoy label, and in later years recorded on the Atlantic label. Some of the groups sessions also included Billy Preston and Alfred Bolden (Voices Of Tabernacle) on the organ. As with most gospel groups the personnel was always changing, the Gospel Chimes have included James Cleveland, Dorothy Norwood, Jessy Dixon, and Imogene Green (of the Davis Sisters and Caravans fame.) Two of the long stay members were Lee Charles Neeley and Claude O. Timmons. After his tenure with the Gospel Chimes, Lee Charles Neeley ventured into to the secular side of the music. His career lasted a few years and spawned a few minor hits for him during the late 60's and early 70s.

Search Add 10 Niccolò B Niccolò Bonini Born in 1991, Niccolo’s relationship with electronic music started as a teenager when he began to frequent nightclubs as an escape from ordinary life in his adopted hometown, Bergamo (Italy). The nightlife scene excited him, particurarly the feeling of connection on the dance floor and the power of music to create strong emotions in a crowd. Music always had a significant meaning in his life, symbolising freedom and becoming ultimately a bold statement for his identity. Around the year 2014 he felt an inner force telling him to leave everything behind and take his relationship with music further, inspired by the sound of many artists from different musical styles. This process of musical discovery and curiosity still permeates up to this day. In 2016 Niccolo released his first track “Out In Space (Original Mix)” under Aeriform Records, before going on releasing other tracks for digital record labels such as Suffused Music, Inmost Records and Mystic Carousel Records. 2017 was marked by more releases on Mystic Carosuel Records, for which he produced a series of remixes and original tracks which owed him some reactions and support from the community. His self-taught skills and style are in a state of constant evolution, both on the side of producing music as well as performing it. Taking influences from older records, his sound can always be recognised by its keen sense of melody, as well as a penetrating and vibrating rhythm. Those are the ingredients for the uplifting musical experience he wants to convey. The year 2018 brings him new and exciting challenges: Niccolo moves to Berlin, (Germany), the global capital of electronic music, where he soon has the chance to perform a live set at Kaffee Burger, in the very city center. This experience gives him the opportunity to give an even more precise direction to his musical journey, focusing on a very specific sound which melts together traits of Techno, Trance and Dance music. In 2019, Niccolo starts working on his very own project: record label, podcast series and nightclub in Berlin, under the name of “FUCKED UP!”. Find more info at: www.fuckedupberlin.de. Search Add 10 Mohamed Marocain Mohamed Hamadi (1907-1973).

Search Add 10 The Northern Illinois University Jazz Ensemble [b]NIU Jazz Ensemble[/b] is a [l=Northern Illinois University] orchestra established in 1969 by [a=Ron Modell], which has long been considered one of the best college jazz bands in the world. The Orchestra participated in many international festivals and performed with such artists as [a=Dizzy Gillespie], [a=Louis Bellson], [a=Clark Terry], [a=Tito Puente] and [a=James Moody]. [b]Not to be confused with [a=NIU Jazz Lab Band][/b]. When Modell was assigned to create a jazz program at the University from scratch, he already had some experience: before joining the NIU, he successfully established a stage band at [l=Southern Methodist University] in Texas. NIU Jazz Ensemble played the first concert in October 1969, only six weeks after the launch. Under the talented leadership and with a strong cast of musicians, the orchestra quickly rose to the national fame. In the summer of 1977, NIU Jazz Ensemble joined Dizzy Gillespie as the featured performers at the annual conference of the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) at Dallas. In 1983, PBS aired a documentary called [i]A Year in the Life of the Greatest College Jazz Band in America[/i] about the orchestra, which won two Chicago Emmy awards. NIU Jazz Ensemble traveled to Europe that summer and appeared at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. The live recording of that concert was [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/4537059]released[/url] in 1984. The ensemble performed at the 54th annual Midwest Music Clinic in Chicago with saxophonist [a=Jimmy Heath] as the guest artist, and at the 28th annual IAJE Conference in New York with trumpeter [a=Wynton Marsalis]. In the summer of 1996, the NIU Jazz Orchestra returned to the Montreux Jazz Festival as [a=Quincy Jones] big band with guest artists [a=Phil Collins], [a=Patti Austin], [a=David Sanborn], [a=Gerald Albright], [a=Chaka Kahn], and [a=James Morrison]. During the summer of 2001, the band performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, Jazz à Vienne Festival in France, and Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
Search Add 10 MIKROBI.T MIKROBI.T Live are six hands, 37 keys, one baritone sax, moog, sythesizer, guitar and acoustic drums – all multiplicated and de-constructed in real time. Is it possible to incorporate influences like Jon Hopkins and Moderat on one hand with Mats Gustafsson's sax and live hypnotic The Knife-wise beats on the other? Seems that it is. Musicians known before from other Polish projects got together to blend electronic sounds with live instruments that resulted in a pretty innovative instrumental album called „Binary Beats” released March 21st 2014. Their music is full of deep bass, vibrating with beat but not deprived of a human factor.... it's live and close, cool and very organic in the same time, electro-improvised.

Search Add 10 Lia Rox Hailing from East Berlin, Lia emerged on the UK's music scene as the only non-British artist to contribute vocals to The Peace Collective's UK Hit 'All Together Now' where she joined an all star line up of recording artists including Julian Lennon, Mick Jones of The Clash, Suggs of Madness, Holly Johnson and Shara Nelson of Massive Attack among many others. The song reached number one on the UK Independent Singles Chart on the 19th December 2014. Known in her native city for her colorful hair and unique fashion sense, Lia's debut album proves there's much more to this striking young performer than aesthetics; her masterful songwriting talent belies her years. With producer Simon Britton (Aaliyah, Ashanti, Boyz II Men, Run DMC) and co-producer Jon Moon (Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, Lady Gaga) by her side, the album features an impressive range of collaborators including Morris Pleasure of Earth Wind & Fire, (Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera), Dale Davis (Tina Turner, Randy Crawford) and Karl Vanden Bossche (Jamiroquai, Mark Ronson, Gorillaz). Recording took place at Camden's legendary Sensible Music studios, which have also played host to the likes of Amy Winehouse, Sting and Michael Jackson. A sophisticated Pop undertone blends with a touch of Electro and Soul to connect the past, present and the future, characterterised honesty and innovation. Lia's unique vocal carries the listener through a journey that embraces love, heartbreak, death, grief, the search for happiness and ultimately a sense of self-empowerment. Legendary Bimbo Jones (34 UK Music Week number ones and 30 US Billboard Dance Chart number ones) were commissioned to remix Lia's first single from the album, 'Hound'. Their remix debuted at number two on the Dance/Crossover Top 40 Breaker Chart in the US, second only to Katy Perry at number one.
