Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 11 | Ryder Houston | Ryder Harrison Houston | Ryder Harrison Houston is an American filmmaker, musician, and performer born just outside of Dallas, Texas. At age 19, he released his first film, "Rapture in Blue": a noir-ish ode to the ubiquitous gothic zeitgeist of the late 20th century. Included on the eponymous soundtrack is the haunting theme “Wine (A Sea Of Future)” performed by frequent collaborator Ariana Kelly, and it was this very release that would catalyze the future of Houston’s musical endeavors. As much as his evocative sound dotes on alternative pop acts Depeche Mode, Garbage, and even Madonna at her most subversive, it also seems to suggest something greater operating on the periphery: a dark, omnipresent melodrama not unlike the crooning music of David Lynch composer Angelo Badalamenti or the lush, do-or-die romance of a young Lana Del Rey. Nevertheless, his eclectic body of work remains adhered to a certain groovy allusion to opium-den electricians the likes of Portishead and Massive Attack, with his spidery vocals weaving clichés of lust and rock ‘n’ roll menace anew. It is within this blasphemous little slipstream that Ryder Houston’s unique brand of sonic nostalgia exists — a sullen musical seduction echoing back from a liminal moment in time where downtempo music and freeze-dried hip-hop beats managed to infiltrate every hot artist’s discography, mutating genre ties and birthing something wholly itself. |

| Search | Add | 11 | Frank Kalaluka Mukanwa | Frank Kalaluka Mukanwa was a Zambian musician, singer and songwriter. Born in 1955 and hailing from Barotseland and the Lozi people, Mukanwa, like fellow Zambia performer [a1819862], had a series of regular careers before entering music. He worked for a time as a prison warden and then later as a mine guard. He started his music career in the early 1970's with a song he recorded at the Zambian Broadcasting Service in Kitwe. The song received some radio play and kicked off a career that would continue for 50 years. His first documented single, [r13500795], appeared on the Zambazi label in 1980, but his career was well established by that point. Based in Kitwe he did much of his later recording at [a2474721]'s [l1700464], similar to fellow Kitwe resident [a7768430]. Throughout the 80's Mukanwa would produce numerous popular singles, displaying his intricate guitar work and his Rumba sensibilities. In 1985, he released his only album, [r3193793]. After the failure of [l447513] in the early 90's, Mukanwa's career faltered and he returned to working for a mining company in the Copperbelt and later Tanzania Zamiba Railways. He married and had several children, including some who followed his footsteps into music. He was still based in Kitwe up until his death from illness on March 23rd, 2025. | |

| Search | Add | 11 | Nyofu Tyson | Nyofu Tyson | Originally a jazz bassist, Nyofu Tyson has been playing Turkish Saz since the 70's. His music is a blend of Turkish, Jazz, Latin, Flamenco and more. He is also a composer and translator/interpreter of Turkish Folk Poets. Born in Los Angeles of Danish-Lebanese-African-American heritage, Nyofu Tyson grew up in a musical home. His Dad was an amateur jazz pianist and avid listener of many styles of music. Nyofu began music as a bassist, playing Jazz and Latin with local groups. He studied Composition, Classical Bass, and North Indian Classical Music at California Institute of the Arts for 2 years. His interest in ethnic music led him to Turkey, where he began playing the long necked lute, Saz. He then lived for many years in Sweden, where he worked with [a=Zülfü Livaneli], [a=Okay Temiz] and [a=Hadji Tekbilek] , all major names in Turkish music. He toured all over Sweden and Europe with these artists, while having his own band and making radio concert and TV appearances in Sweden and Turkey. Since returning to LA in 1994, he has collaborated with Omar Faruk Tekbilek, oudist John Bilezikian and Cuatro Caminos Flamenco among others. In 2004, Nyofu released two CD’s on the 3 Worlds Music label: “Timeless Songs”, a collection of Turkish folk poets from 13th century to present; and “La Guitarra Turca”, original work blending Mideast, Latin and Jazz in an instrumental/vocal mix. He has been a member and featured artist in the Stefani Valadez Ensemble since 2006 and started Turkish/Flamenco fusion group “iST/West” together with Flamenco guitarist Bobby Solakov in 2007. From July 2011 thru Dec 2013 he performed with these groups at Disney California Adventure, introducing the public there to Turkish Poets and popular songs, odd rhythms and Flamenco alaturca. Nyofu travels regularly to Turkey, where he has gained recognition for his interpretations of Turkish folk poets and his eclectic style of Saz playing. In 2010 Nyofu began work on a new collection of Turkish Poet interpretations, featuring his original compositions. Recorded in Izmir, Istanbul and Los Angeles, "Minstrels&Mystics" is to be released in Turkey Spring 2017 by Avrupa Music. Also to be released is 5 song “iST/West” EP “Ciudad de Mi Alma”, featuring the single “Yeni Anladım”. |

| Search | Add | 11 | Len Maxwell | Lenny Maxwell | American comedian, voice actor and announcer. Born: August 8, 1930 in Inglewood, California. Died: May 13, 2008 in Los Angeles, California. Stand-up comedian on his early career, he appeared on The Tonight Show several times, a CBS special called, The Nut House and an NBC special called The Future Lies Ahead while also appearing in night clubs and theaters in Las Vegas, New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles with entertainers including Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald to name but a few. During this time, he dabbled in management, helping to launch Neil Sedaka's solo career.[1] At an engagement at New York's Copacabana, a producer for an advertising agency approached Len and asked him if he would be willing to do some of the voices in his act on a series of commercials. Len agreed. Two weeks later, when he received a check for the few hours of what was an easy and enjoyable experience, Len was shocked at the large amount of the check. He called the advertising agency, saying there had to be some mistake. They said they would look into it. Two days later, a representative of the agency called back and apologized for the error and said they would send Len the rest. It was at that moment that Len decided to make voice-overs his career. During Len's career in voice-overs, he recorded over 25,000 commercials, including the voice for "Punchy" the iconic Hawaiian Punch mascot - plus dozens of animated cartoons, and voice-overs in motion pictures. Len won the advertising industry's coveted CLIO award for best voice-over actor/announcer. He co-wrote and co-produced the short animated film The Crunch Bird in which he did all five voices. The film won the Academy Award for best animated short. He also directed the sound track for the film. He also provided several voices for the 1970 Christmas animated special, The Night the Animals Talked. He supplied the voices of Karate and The Chief in the children's cartoon series Batfink, and the judge in the animated feature Hugo the Hippo. Len wrote some comedy with Woody Allen. He appeared with Allen on screen in Allen ’s What's Up Tiger Lily, and did the voices of most of the main characters in that film. Voice-overs in Allen’s Take the Money and Run and Sleeper followed. He and Allen remained friends until his death. He was also the voice of the color analyst Nick Diamond in the MTV animated series Celebrity Deathmatch from 1998-2002. He was credited in most episodes as Barry Manos. In 1964, Maxwell released the Christmas/Monster-themed LP, "A Merry Monster Christmas". This album entertained families for decades with its head-on collision of classic movie monsters with traditional Christmas observances. The album became difficult to find until Maxwell updated and re-released it on CD in 2005. |

Kavula has been writing lyrics since his teenage years but never showed to anybody, apart from a few exceptions. Till now...! The songs are about what songs are naturally about... love and hate, sense and nonsense, shattered dreams and missed aims, high flights and crash landings, desperation and hope, splendid successes and crushing defeats, the unbearable lightness of being and the hardness of breaking it off, lost principles and won experiences... to put it in a nutshell, about pretty much anything that makes us love life... as well as hate it. | Search | Add | 11 | The "JFK" Quintet | In early 1960, Cannonball Adderley discovered five musicians in Washington, D.C.—the J.F.K. Quintet, named in honor of the newly elected John F. Kennedy and his ambition to change the status quo nationwide for blacks and the arts. In July 1961, six months after the inauguration, Adderley brought the group to New York's Plaza Sound Studios and produced their first Riverside album. The J.F.K. Quintet was comprised of Ray Codrington (tp), Andrew White (as), Harry Killgo (p), Walter Booker, Jr. (b) and Carl "Mickey' Newman (d). The result was the J.F.K. Quintet: New Jazz Frontiers From Washington. A second album was recorded in December '61 entitled Young Ideas The band dissolved in 1963, with White moving on to become a primary transcriber of John Coltrane's solos, Codrington recorded with Eddie Harris, and Booker became Adderley's bassist. White, who's still on the scene today, played alto and tenor saxophones with incredible energy, plus electric bass with the Fifth Dimension and Stevie Wonder, and classical oboe (which he holds at the top of this post). Once a year in Washington, D.C., he would book two rhythm sections and play a 12-hour jazz quartet gig at a club called the Top O' Foolery. And Harry Killgo was the father of Keith Killgo, the drummer with Donald Byrd and the Blackbyrds.

Aside from many tape cassettes and their split 7" with Melt-Banana, their only full length vinyl album was bankrolled and distributed by West Yorkshire experimental music and alcohol fanzine Just Glittering (the precursor to Idwal Fisher). However the band’s mighty powerhouse of a drummer, Pete Howard, is currently unable to record or program drums at his home, which led me to seek the help of Luke Johnson. Luke and I have known each other now for thirty-five years, him being the son of The Wonder Stuff’s first manager, Les Johnson. He is a truly remarkable drummer and has enjoyed an international career behind the kit with a variety of rockin’ bands. He is also something of a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. When not out on the road he is often to be found beavering away creating his own music in his home studio. As luck would have it at the time of my asking Luke to program drums for the new Vent 414 songs he was also sitting on a bunch of instrumental tracks that needed vocals adding to them. I offered my services to write lyrics, find the vocal melodies and add my nasal whine to his tracks. He accepted. So what you will find here are two separate streams of songwriting; the songs that I initiate for the future V414 record and the songs that Luke and I have worked on together for an, as yet, unspecified project."

| Search | Add | 11 | takahiro.fks | He is a Japanese electronic music artist who began working around 2022 with a foundation in Dariacore and Hyperflip. Exploring a wide range of styles, he develops a richly diverse musical expression. His sound carries a certain sense of melancholy, at times overflowing with destructive emotion, creating a uniquely evocative atmosphere. Ranging from lyrical compositions to pieces charged with furious anger, his work is influenced by plunderphonics and sound collage, and is distinguished by refined sampling techniques. He drew major attention with the album Ten Nights' Dreams, released on Lost Frog Productions, a label well-known in the breakcore and experimental scenes. The album employs dense, chaotic sampling rooted in Dariacore and Mashcore, resulting in a work that is energetic and passionate while also infused with sentiment and bittersweetness. It played a significant role in fueling the rise of Dariacore and Hyperflip’s popularity in Japan. His music clearly reflects the influence of Dariacore artists such as Leroy, yet he digests these inspirations and elevates them into his own distinctive form of expression. In a genre where many artists tend to be short-lived, he continues to produce actively, constantly seeking new possibilities and pushing beyond the boundaries of genre. | |

| Search | Add | 10 | Litia~Loe | Litia~Loe: Life In The Insane Asylum = Life On Earth LITIA=LOE (Life In The Insane Asylum = Life On Earth) formed in Chicago amidst the burgeoning house movement of the 80’s. Leon Williams, Daryl Wilson, and brothers Grant and Simeon Rogers would meet up every weekend to soak up the sounds at local clubs like Music Box, Medusa, The PowerPlant, The Warehouse, and Frankie Knuckles’ Dance Palace, where DJs would mix everything from disco to new wave, industrial to house music. After the clubs closed, they would retreat to Leon’s basement to experiment with synths, inspired by what they had just witnessed at the clubs. Wired with excitement, they would stay up all-night, jamming and sequencing beats together late into the next afternoon. Simeon was the technician of the group, programming drums, layering sounds, and finding the right synth textures. Leon was the creative wild card, coming up with conscious lyrics and vocal melodies and tweaking the sounds to be more expansive. Grant kept things anchored in song, composing and coming up with structures. Daryl helped compose a lot of the unreleased songs and was a great arranger and bass player, but decided to leave the band for personal reasons. With a Tascam 8-track Portastudio, the group would cut rough tape mixes of their tunes to share with friends who would DJ the demos around town. Influenced by groups like Nitzer Ebb, Bauhaus and Chris & Cosey, they came up with a track heavy with distortion and feedback. A tape of that track started circulating around the clubs, and legend has it that Lil Louis liked it so much he claimed it as his own. Realizing that competition was fierce in the DJ world, they decided to cut a record next time so they could lay claim to their work. This led to the release of Each Dawn Every Dawn, released on their own Facade label in 1989. The group distributed the record themselves, handing them out at clubs, and dropping them off at local shops and record pools. At the time, the record barely made it out of Chicago, but the group did have a few chances at notoriety. Once with Rocky Jones of D.J. International Records who offered a “Blood contract” for joining the label. The group declined. In the mid 90’s they had an opportunity to open three nights with Living Colour, but the night before, one of the keyboardists got stage fright and they had to bail on the gigs. | |

| Search | Add | 10 | Offyourself | Punk rock band with pop characteristics from Villa Park, IL, that existed from 1997 to 2001. The band formed in the fall of '97 when Mike Heerboth (guitar/rasps or vocals), T.J. Durkan (bass/vocals), and Paul Giraldi (drums/screams) got together to start playing songs that were similar to T.J. and Mike's first band, [a1305963]. The band wrote a bunch of songs and started playing shows in Feb. '98, and recorded a demo tape in June of that year. In Sept., Paul left the band to go to school, to be replaced by Bret Mcarty in Nov. (whose first show was the first Hanger 18 show) but Bret left in May '99 to play bass in Crackerjack. Paul returned from school and re-joined the band for the summer until Pat Kilbryde took over on drums. This is the point where the band wrote more rock than "I hate you" punk songs, and recorded their first full-length CD called "Age 5," which was released in Dec. '99. Shortly after, Pat put forth his resignation so he could play drums in [a3256391]. Dave Hoffa then stepped up and joined on drums, and Dan (Fatkid) Nelson joined on rhythm guitar. The band took another step in a different direction and recorded a new full-length, self-titled CD, which was released in Feb. '01 on Dan's [l95133]. | |

| Search | Add | 10 | Alexey Luka | Алексей Лучко (Alexey Luchko) | Alexey Luka was born in 1983 in Moscow, where he currently lives and works. Among the most talented and influential young artists in the Russian contemporary art scene. With a background in architecture studies, the Russian artist developed a unique and recognizable style, based on the use of abstract geometric shapes and chromatic variations. Perfectly comfortable with different techniques, spray paints, acrylic paints, sculpture, and collage, Alexey Luka creates complex compositions in which the colors and geometric lines interact, resulting in a sort of puzzle to decipher. The observer is left, therefor, to reconstruct and consequently interpret the image, starting precisely with the colors that suggest shapes: faces, characters and landscapes alternate in a game of perception that activates our imagination. Through the composition and decomposition of the shapes and the chromatic combinations, with references to Constructivism and Neo-plasticism, the artist aims to tell a story, to evoke a situation or a vision, in an entirely unusual and original way. |

| Search | Add | 10 | Hellcity Punks | Hard Rock band with Glam/Punk/Sleaze influences from Helsinki, Finland, that formed in 2007. Hellcity Punks is a fine combination of poplike melodies, thunderous and intensive riffs, punky attitude and wretched stories about life. Although fostering the legacy of performers like Kiss, Mötley Crüe and Alice Cooper The Punks still succeed to sound very 21st centurian. In the beginning of 2007, little more than a year after his former band had split-up, Janze ran across Hooligan and Dennis while wandering the nightly streets of Helsinki. They soon noticed that they had very similar visions and goals and shared the passion for shameless rock n’ roll. The triple joined forces and soon after that they heard rumours of this motorcycle driving maniac called Johnny and decided to recruit him into the band. Hellcity Punks were born. | |

| Search | Add | 10 | Tragic Romance | Formed in late 1987 in Los Angeles, CA., Tragic Romance was a bruising yet soaring powerhouse that rocked both the Sunset Strip and the coolest and darkest underground clubs L.A. had to offer. They were definitely part of the "big-hair"-"sleaze rock"- "Hollywood glam" scene, but it wouldn't always remain that way. Eventually they would take a walk on the darker side of the street and be fully accepted in that realm as well. In the early days of Tragic Romance, you could find the band decked out in leather pants, eye-liner, and big hair.BThey tore up the stages of just about every large and small venue in the Hollywood and L.A. Valley clubs. They would share the stage with the likes of Warrant, Junkyard, Bang Tango, Love/Hate, Vain, Jetboy, L.A. Guns and many others of that ilk. They were fully accepted into the hairband world. However, in the fall of 1989, they meandered over to the darker side of hard rock music and soon won the respect of the underground scene that featured such wicked, wild, and wonderful luminaries like Jane's Addiction, Lions and Ghosts, Human Drama, Motorcycle Boy, The Nymphs, and many more. They felt more at home in this scene where dark sounds and real poetry for lyrics were the norm, instead of the overdone, overblown, anything for a good time theme that was smothering the Strip. By mid 1990, they had become critical favorites and a rare crossover of both the Strip and the Underground. They were getting the well-deserved respect that comes to a band so serious about their craft. On any given night you might find standing amongst their regular throng of fans - some of Hollywood's A-listers such as Dave Navarro, James Hetfield, and Lenny Kravitz. In mid '93 they signed with the metal label Century Media who released the intense and soaring live CD entitled "Cancel the Future" which garnered great critical praise, and some college airplay. In the music business, its easy come and easy go, and as has happened to many-a-other band, TR was left to wither due to lack of record company support. It turned out the band wasn't heavy enough for their hardcore fan-base and they shelved the project altogether. Members: Billy Brooke - Lead Vocals Britt Wilson - Lead Guitar Phil Gibson - Bass Steph Takos - Drums Mark Vernon - Drums | |
