Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 10 | שושנת יריחו | Shoshanat Yericho | Underground Israeli band. The name "Shoshanat Yericho" (labeled by the band as "ShoshanatYericho", like it was a one word) is the Hebrew name for the cutaneous leishmaniasis disease (while literally it means "The Rose Of Jericho"). No information is available about the group, and its members' identities are unknown. However, it's confirmed that all of their album covers are parodies of the artwork which appears on the front cover of Fania Bergstein's children's book "VaYehi Erev" ("ויהי ערב" = "And It Was Evening"), based on "What the Moon Saw: and Other Tales" by Hans Christian Andersen. |

Search | Add | 10 | Barbara Nap | "Barbara's musical career started at the tender age of 17 when she appeared on stage singing backing vocals with the popular UK singer Vivian Jones. Her first track, released under the pseudonym NyaNatty, was entitled 'One Love Style'. She wrote the song while travelling on the train to a recording session for the group Black Slate which they recorded and released on the S&G Records label. Barbara went on to work with UB40, recording several tracks for their DEP International record label. 'Suffering' featured on the B-side of the band's UK top 10 hit 'Please Don't Make Me Cry'. She was offered a 5-year recording contract with DEP International but declined after being invited to join the all-female band Akabu, first as a drummer, then as guitarist/backing vocalist. As an integral part of Akabu, she toured continuously all over the world, performing at the world famous Reggae Sunsplash festival, and at prestigious venues such as Madison Square Gardens and the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. After several years as a member of Akabu, Barbara decided it was time to pursue a solo career and she released several singles, as well as her debut album 'No Apologies' on the Ruff Cutt label. She became a regular feature of the critically acclaimed Ruff Cutt Band, becoming one of the most highly rated backing vocalists in the reggae business. Barbara has regularly worked with a long list of the most prestigious reggae acts both live and in the studio, including artists such as Marcia Griffiths, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Beres Hammond, Alton Ellis, John Holt, Luciano, Sanchez, Ken Boothe, Delroy Wilson, Cornell Campbell, Al Campbell and Michael Rose, to name just a few. As well as being a talented vocalist, Barbara is also an accomplished musician, composer, producer and music programmer. She produced and programmed a number of the rhythm tracks for songs on her debut album and has programmed and produced all the rhythm tracks for her latest album, Empress Lioness, which was released on March 25th, 2013." Search | Add | 10 | Dil-E-Nadan | Dil-E-Nada is a decades-old band which has had a rotating membership over the years. Sangeeta D'Songstar of Chutneymusic dot com provides a brief hstory of the band: "Dil e nadan was formed in 1957 by the late Usaf Khan and Ramnarine Moonilal. Dil e nadan won the Prime Minister’s Trophy for best indian orchestration which was judged by the late great Mohammed Rafi 1962. The band enjoyed a lot of success in the years to follow and dominated the local indian industry. In the 80’s the band toured mainly Canada,Guyana and Suriname and boasted the best local singers the country had at the time. (Nazimool and Ruby, Ras Nancoo). In the mid 80’s Ramnarine’s two sons Rennie and Raymond joined the group as percussionists then moving on to trumpets, and then Guitars and Keyboards. With the push from then manager Haseeb Majid ,Raymond started his career as a lead singer. He entered the national duet singing competition with Swarsati Maraj in 1989 and won first place. This proved to be the start of the rise of the Indian Culture among the youths in Trinidad and Tobago. The next year (1990) Raymond entered Mastana Bahar where he placed Second in the grand finals (a result which still has unanswered questions). Rennie the eldest of the brothers also sang in the finals. That same year the youngest of the brothers Richard joined the band as a Tabla and Dholak player. The band did their first show in New York in 1993 at York College in Queens. (the show was sold out 1 week in advance) Then in 1996 the band was signed to Soca Paradise (Ramesh Singh) and released there first C.D. People’s Choice. The success seemed to have just started as the band became the first band to tour Holland and Spain in 1997. In 1999 Richard became the youngest manager in Trinidad at only 19. Soon after dil e nadan became the first chutney group to perform at the world renowned Brass Festival and Youth fest. Dil e nadan holds the record for the most awards at the 103fm awards show (24).The band is currently sponsored by Bmobile and Stag. Dil e nadan recently signed a Five year deal in Holland with Bollywood LTD for performances in Europe."

Search | Add | 10 | Professor Moses Hadas | Although he was known as a quiet, even shy man, Moses Hadas made his presence felt at the College as a prolific scholar and as one of the College's truly great teachers. A classicist by training, he began teaching as an instructor in the General Honors course in 1925, and except for brief service in the Office of Strategic Services during World War II, he stayed at Columbia for the rest of his career, remaining one of the College's most sought-after teachers until his death in 1966. Born in Atlanta, Hadas received his bachelor's degree from Emory University in 1922, and came to Columbia to do advanced work in Greek and Latin literature. Even as his own academic accomplishments mounted, Hadas continued to embrace undergraduate education. After teaching General Honors, he taught the Colloquium on Important Books; he was one of the original teachers of Humanities A and continued to teach it for years. It was said of Hadas that he "always had enough time to discuss anything of humane interest with the demanding young." Early on Hadas won recognition as a gifted scholar, not only of Greek and Latin, but also of Hebrew and Arabic. A colleague once remarked that Hadas knew most classical authors "as if he had just met them at a faculty meeting." Among his distinguished books on classical culture were A History of Greek Literature (1950) and Humanism: The Greek Ideal and Its Survival (1960); he translated Greek, Latin, and Hebrew texts; and he edited many other volumes.

Search | Add | 10 | Anya Phillips | Anya Phillips (born 1955-02 - died 1981-06-19) was a Taiwanese fashion designer, influencer, photographer, actress and alternative dominatrix, active in New York. She was also the manager and girlfriend of New York-based musician [a783464] (aka James Chance aka James White), singing on Chance's album Off White under the pseudonym of Ginger Lee. Better known for having co-founded the Mudd Club in New York in 1978, she also played a couple of roles on no-wave films such as Rome '78, Kidnapped and The Foreigner. A clothing design enthusiast, she dedicated her life on making some of the most remarkable punk/no-wave costumes, including the pink dress worn by her friend Debbie Harry on the cover of Blondie's Plastic Letters album. Although she was one of the most glamorous and innovative girls of her time, Phillips never had the opportunity to achieve the fame she had so longed for, especially because of her premature death at the age of 26, after losing a two-year battle against a brain cancer.

Search | Add | 10 | Thieves On The Overpass | Alternative stoner/garage rock band formed in Ankara, Turkey in 2019. TOTOP laid its foundations in 2019 in Ankara, when [a=Atıl Doğan] (Drums) got angry and asked [a=Mehmet Ali Akınoğlu] (Vocal, Guitar) for a guitarist to form his band, and Mehmet Ali (aka Mali) said, "Why don't I play, dude?". The duo, who are best friends from the high school and the neighborhood, have been hanging out together since they were 15. Bros came together for projects before, but all have been postponed; until 2021. COVID-19 came to their aid. Having free time because of the pandemic, Mali almost alone built [l=İNN], a recording studio in his neighborhood. Exactly 4 months after the end of its construction, they started to record songs on March 18, 2021. The name of the band comes from the fact that the duo was being watched from the overpass for hours by thieves during the recordings. Playing only guitar at first, Mali became the vocalist of the group and played bass for the recordings out of necessity. He also did the mixing and mastering. Recordings ended 1.5 years later and [r=27656493] was released on May 26, 2023. Just before the first song was released, Atıl’s another high school buddy, [a=Mehmet Fatih Alp] (Guitar), joined TOTOP. Before the release of the second single [r=27657633], Kağan Torpil (Bass) joined the band. The first album [r=29959648] was finally released on March 1st, 2024 after a 3 year process.

More than two hundred television films were made by the "Kullerköpfe" already. As a mobile theater, they play in all major cities in Germany. Search | Add | 10 | Mohamed Marocain | Mohamed Hamadi | (1907-1973).

Search | Add | 10 | Júnior Cordeiro | José Valni Cordeiro Lima Júnior | "THE ARTIST Combining Baião with Heavy Rock, that is the key alchemy of Júnior Cordeiro's music -- poet, singer and composer. This junction of genres (in this case, the junction of ideologies, since the two segments transcend the pure concept of “styles” and reach the idea of musical cultures) is nothing new in the Brazilian scene, what is new is the way in which this paraibano achieves this dialogue so naturally. O Bruxo do Cariri Velho, as he became known in the music industry, travels through virtually all segments of northeastern music, from toada to baião, as well as various segments of good old Rock'n'Roll, from Progressive/Psychedelic to blues and Heavy Metal, establishing a strong musical accent, which the artist himself conceptualizes as Rock-Baião. His poetics, while denouncing strong influences from northeastern cordelistas and repentistas, bear subtle traits from the most diverse literary poets. With fifteen years of career, Júnior Cordeiro managed to establish a strong characteristic: the peculiarity of the themes covered in his discography. The mythical and mystical Northeast, the Iberian heritage, popular magic, messianic delusions, rustic and sertanejo Catholicism, western occultism, metaphysics and existential questions, madness and many other intricate subjects, come together in a fixed idea of verification and denunciation of the evils of man's objectification in liquid and globalizing post-modernity, in a rich and fertile field of imagery, where the collective imagination is always present and invigorated. From his first album (Carrascais/2006), to O Lago Misterioso/2011, Capa Preta/2013, Sonhos, Sertão & Loucura/2016, Céu, Hades e outros Porvires/2018, Vênus Philpeia/2019, #CâmaraEco/2021, until it culminates in his newest work, Infinito Migrar/2022, Cordeiro navigates his sea of musical information, always willing to approach different themes related to human nature." |

Search | Add | 10 | Mind Mine | Mind Mine is an explosive post-hardcore trio from the Greater Houston Area. Formed in 2022, the band combines hardcore punk intensity with soaring melodic dynamics, creating an aggressive yet accessible sound inspired by influential acts like Black Flag, Coalesce, Botch, Godflesh, Sepultura and Converge. The prolific three-piece of Jeff Perales (guitar/vocals), Victor Mills (bass/vocals), and David Klotz (drums/vocals) has unleashed nearly 20 releases in under two years. With a relentless output and ferocious live shows, Mind Mine is rapidly making a name for themselves by redefining hardcore, punk, and metal with their own brand of controlled chaos and the mantra "I am not defined by how you feel." This is an unapologetic band determined to dominate on their own terms. #mindminetx #doitforchicorecords

Search | Add | 10 | Tierra Cero | 'Tierra Cero' is a Mexican Boy-band that originated from the Mexican Telenovela called 'Mi Querida Isabel' (1996 to 1997), where the young actors appeared as waiters who sung and danced at a bar. In the soap opera there were around 7 actors in the band, including Paulo Quevedo (Real Name: Paulo César Quevedo de la Vega) and Christian Carabias, with other lesser known actors. Later, a contest was launched by the Mexican Celebrity Magazine 'TvyNovelas' to give the band a name, and the name that won was 'Tierra Cero'. In 1997, their first single 'Te Amaré' was included in the 'Mi Querida Isabel' Soundtrack CD and released to radio as a promotional single. The original line-up during this time was Paulo Quevedo, Christian Carabias, Rafael León (Real Name: Rafael León De Los Cobos) and Sebastián. Paulo Quevedo was the lead vocal during this time. Later that same year of 1997, their debut album was launched with Jorge Da Silva (Real Name: Jorge De Silva Murray) in replacement of Sebastián, alongside Paulo, Christian and Rafael. Their first single of their debut album was 'Porque Te Amo', while the 'Mi Querida Isabel' track 'Te Amaré' was also included in this album. For their second and third albums (1998-2000) the lineup was changed with Erick Elías and Luigi Balestra (Cousin of Daniel Merlo who is a group member of the famous latin boy-band 'Mercurio') taking the place that Jorge Da Silva (he went on to pursue acting) and Paulo Quevedo (he went to latin boy-band 'Kairo') left. Luigi Balestra was the lead vocal during this time.

The song reached number one on the UK Independent Singles Chart on the 19th December 2014. Known in her native city for her colorful hair and unique fashion sense, Lia's debut album proves there's much more to this striking young performer than aesthetics; her masterful songwriting talent belies her years. With producer Simon Britton (Aaliyah, Ashanti, Boyz II Men, Run DMC) and co-producer Jon Moon (Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, Lady Gaga) by her side, the album features an impressive range of collaborators including Morris Pleasure of Earth Wind & Fire, (Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera), Dale Davis (Tina Turner, Randy Crawford) and Karl Vanden Bossche (Jamiroquai, Mark Ronson, Gorillaz). Recording took place at Camden's legendary Sensible Music studios, which have also played host to the likes of Amy Winehouse, Sting and Michael Jackson. A sophisticated Pop undertone blends with a touch of Electro and Soul to connect the past, present and the future, characterterised honesty and innovation. Lia's unique vocal carries the listener through a journey that embraces love, heartbreak, death, grief, the search for happiness and ultimately a sense of self-empowerment. Legendary Bimbo Jones (34 UK Music Week number ones and 30 US Billboard Dance Chart number ones) were commissioned to remix Lia's first single from the album, 'Hound'. Their remix debuted at number two on the Dance/Crossover Top 40 Breaker Chart in the US, second only to Katy Perry at number one.

Wanda met and married singer Ted Henderson and they went on to perform and tour as the country duo "Wanda and Ted." Ted introduced Kay to Carson Jack Whittaker, a Livingston Montana singer who was looking for a duet partner. The two traveled the US, performing as a duo, and in the 1940s they married, eventually moving back to Montana. Carson Jack then gave up performing to became Kay's manager, and she was soon billed Country Girl Kay. They formed the Whitkay record label during this time (recording at Valtron Studios in Helena). Carson Jack was murdered July 1964, while hitchhiking near Afton, Wyoming. According to media coverage of the crime, when the accused shooter was discovered, he had in his possession a suitcase containing "unpublished songs" written by Kay. (The Whitkay recordings were all made before 1964, as Kay did not record after her husband's death - but the exact year the singles were made is not determined). Kay stayed in Montana, and later married Bill Gardner, who moved the couple to Cutbank. In 1975 Bill passed away and she moved to Kalispell, where she taught music, and performed locally. In 1999 she relocated to Washington state, to be closer to her son. She died in a nursing home in Spokane, and is buried in Buffalo, Missouri. (source: Lisa Wheeler) |

Musicians known before from other Polish projects got together to blend electronic sounds with live instruments that resulted in a pretty innovative instrumental album called „Binary Beats” released March 21st 2014. Their music is full of deep bass, vibrating with beat but not deprived of a human factor.... it's live and close, cool and very organic in the same time, electro-improvised.
