Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

At that time most of the band lived in Bursledon, we played Village music, hence the name.

Search Add 2 Mel Golding Melanie Padron Golding Singer-songwriter born in Loughborough UK to British and Spanish parents. Mel's roots are firmly entrenched in the two cultures. A mix of her youth was spent in England and the Canary Island, Tenerife. Tenerife was the springboard for her music career as she became one of the youngest public performers' during the mid-'80s on the island. Mel was discovered by acclaimed record producer and multi-platinum award winner Mike Myers who became her music mentor for the next decade. Mel captured the hearts of record producers Phil Ramone and Mike Appel in the USA furthering her professional development in the music industry. In 2003, she joined forces with Aswad's lead singer Brinsley Forde who took management and introduced Mel to songwriter-producer Tony Delaney where the album 'Miracle' was born. Years later, Mel joined a London-based rock band 'RIME' and worked with songwriter-producer George de Angelis who wrote and produced their single 'Go Forth And Multiply'. Mel has a twist to her story and is gaining interest globally from her podcast show 'Facing Mel's Music'. In this show, she interviews new and upcoming artists worldwide to explore their experiences in the music industry. Mel has written a book that reflects her emotional journey throughout the industry, she felt it important to highlight the harsh realities when trying to succeed in music along with the love for music and the need to look after mental health and spirituality. Mel finds writing very therapeutic and feels it is one of the most effective ways of expressing inner content. Many of her songs reflect this with honesty and tend to have a twist in their lyrical content. When Mel writes, she delves very deeply into the meaning and enjoys the process of producing several angles to the material.

For over 20 years he has been active in the Italian music scene. He started his career in the ‘80s within the new-wave rock context and he has always nurtured a profound love for mediterranean traditions and ancient sacred music. He trained in many vocal styles: Old Roman Chant (Oriental Christian Liturgy melismatic style), Southern Italian tarantella, pizzica and ‘canto alla stisa’, arabic tarab vocal style. He also studied and performed Reinassance music, Monteverdi madrigals, and contemporary classical music. His wide vocal range, the timbre nuances and the frequent use of the looping technique co-create an ecstatic and pulsating unique sound, by mixing ambient-wave sophisticated sounds and Mediterranean melisma with an ethereal soprano touch. Search Add 2 Den Bacchanaliska Kören I Par Bricole Sweden's and the Nordic countries' oldest still active men's choir with about 60 singing members. DBK was founded in 1829 in connection with the unveiling of the Bellman bust at Djurgården on July 26, when the first appearance took place. Since then, the choir at the bust appears this day as part of a ceremony arranged by the Society Par Bricole, which Bellman himself was involved in founding in 1779. The choir also has many other engagements within and outside the Society, concerts and choir trips as well as private events. The choir's repertoire has traditionally placed its emphasis on Nordic choral poetry, not least C. M. Bellman's music, which is partly composed with a society in mind. Other pieces specially written for the Society are also performed every year. At external performances, there is both sacred and profane music with emphasis on the 19th century and early 20th century, but both modern and early music have occurred. The choir has standing performances at the Society's gatherings in Stockholm; in Jacobs Church, in the Bellman House, on Hasselbacken and at the Grand Hotel. In addition to private singing for various companies and organizations, the choir has had its own external concerts, including in Gustaf Vasa Church, the Concert Hall and the Berwald Hall. Concert tours are carried out at regular intervals and previous destinations include Malta, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, France, the USA and Japan.

Search Add 2 Jim Hoiles Jim Hoiles (deceased) was born January 6th. 1911. and except for short trips to the western states and Alaska and a four year stint in the Army during World War ll. he lived in the area of Greenville, lllinois. all his life. As a boy of eight he took a few lessons on the violin and was about to give it up when he heard an old blind fiddler named Dan Allen play. It was then he decided to really give ol' time fiddling a try. Jim learned most of the old tunes and played for a few square dances before going into service in 1941. Jim did not play after the War until the early 1960's when he bought an old Jacob Stainer violin. ln 1965 he was buying fiddle records to learn new tunes and in I970 began collecting records from Ireland. and England. to learn Irish, Scottish and English fiddle tunes. Jim played and recorded with Dave and Melody Johnson (now living near Nashville, TN) and with Bruce "Swamp" Weiss when they were all living in Bond County. Jim recorded in a small Gospel music studio in Central Illinois called Crusade Enterprises. Several records also featured John Barnhart (deceased). JIm's albums are special for preserving fundamental, American Rural versions of Celtic and Anglo Traditional Music. JIm performed regionally in Illinois at barn dances, picnics and other events. The WWII veterans and their families still had an interest in "country" music as it had evolved in the 1930's before the War and Jim provided the soundtrack for those dancers and listeners. His growing friendship with Swamp Weiss led eventually to Jim co-producing an album with Swamp Weiss and Alison Krauss's family called "Different Strokes" which is now a collector's item. The LP contrasted JIm's ol' Time style with young Alison's progressive hot fiddle. Jim finished out his days living at the caretaker's cabin for the local rod and gun club ( an excellent place by the pond to have the occasional visitor enjoy a few tunes ).
