Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Flatline Transmissions Flatline Transmissions were an electro-industrial project by [a666125] and [a819529] of [a74423], which in 2004 had gone on hiatus. Together they brought in [a1071058] on keys and Trajik on guitar, spending most of their time focusing on performing live. The group made one release - a demo EP produced by [a30479] of Meat Beat Manifesto in 2005. In May the same year Trajik left the band, leading to him being replaced by [a594624]. However, Mark went MIA in 2006 and Onyx took some time off performing, which meant The_Gun finding new members in Kitt Thompson (Drums) & [a1906417] (Bass) where the trio would change their style to a heavier less electronic feel. Plans were in place around that time to record more material, but none emerged.

While studying art and philosophy he began exploring the potentials of a dynamisation of the relationship of artwork and viewer. He developed the ”solo action”, a format between exhibition and performance, in which the spectator perspective as being opposite is dissolved into a point of view that is itself part of the artwork. With reference to ancient beginnings of the viewing dispositive of European art and theatre and a related partitioning of space that is still effective today, he pursues his research on sight and space with various means, from installation to sculpture, over performance and dance to photography and video. Together with Sandra Man he is working on an artistic practice that is based on the conception of space as happening, which incorporates the bodies and senses of the audience.

Search Add 2 Broken Notes The Beginning Before this project was given it's name (Broken Notes) it started out with just two people without a band name, Jason Gervais and Sam Dean, back in 2002. Their goal was to create a fan album inspired by Akira Yamaoka's music for, at the time, Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill 2. This album later became known as the Silent Hill Fan Soundtrack and received a limited release on a handful of gaming forums. After it's release it inspired the both of them to create a follow-up album. Broken Notes During production of the second album they came into contact with John Anthony Mathewson whom was creating a fan album of his own (which would have been titled Broken Notes) and came to a mutual agreement to combine their two projects together and call the album Broken Notes. At the beginning of November 2003, the album was placed for download on a mini-website featuring music by John, Jason, and Sam. This particular album received a great amount of attention from the community and was widely praised. It encouraged the three of them to put together a third album which took over a year to finish. An official website was also put together for the band to keep fans updated on all the latest news.

Search Add 2 Festercyst Festercyst started in the Winter of 2002 in Arizona. Pitch shifting was a strong element in the music. Drum programming was utilized due to lack of any reliable drummers. Pirated software was used in the recording process. To roughly fit this into a sub-genre, it would be a hybrid of aggressive Punk/Drum Machine Goregrind. Festercyst was laid to rest after the formation of Black Pathology in 2006.
