Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 17 | Darryl 'Lyrrad' Davis | Darryl Davis | Lyrrad started his music career working alongside the captivating electro-rap producer The Unknown DJ on the Techno Hop label. He helped provide production assistance on many classic cuts such as "808 Beats", "2030", and more importantly on "Let's Jam". Darryl Davis continued his association with Unknown DJ into the 90's lending a helping hand with the music on many of Unknown's side projects. Aside from production, Lyrrad is more critically acclaimed for the various album cover artworks that has helped define the west coast electro era. The cover of the World Class Wreckin' Cru's "Surgery", "Juice", Unknown DJ's "808 Beats", and various other picture covers are all credited to Lyrrad. However, the graphics that graced the colorful cover of Unknown's "Let's Jam" is by far considered to be the mantelpiece in Darryl's array of works. The abstract drawing of a "DMX anti-graffiti" missile crashing into a brick wall with the Los Angeles city skyline draped in the background propel the album cover as possibly being one of the finest original renditions featured on any west coast hip-hop album cover. |

Search | Add | 17 | Niels Hutchinson | Niels Hutchison | Niels Hutchison is an Australian artist. Hutchison shared a house with [a327752]' guitarist [a778977] in the 1970s and designed on commission the cover of their album [m=192655]. His name is incorrectly spelt in the [m=192655] album credits ("Niels Hutchinson"). In addition, copyright to the artwork was claimed by [l=Mushroom Records] in the liner notes: in fact, it is retained by the artist. The album was re-released in 1984 as a 10-year anniversary edition. The new [r5967829] used the same artwork, except its background of brown cardboard was overprinted in gold. [l=Mushroom] removed its claim to copyright in the artwork, but this time both the artist's names were misspelt, as "Neils Hutchinson". Niels has also made a musical arrangement for Gearshift Shuffle, Track 1 on Side A of [r4761802]. He shares credit with [a=Buzz Leeson] and [a=Mick Conway]; his name is once again misspelt as 'Hutchinson'. Niels Hutchison currently runs a web site on Colour Music, and has spoken on the topic at seminars and major art exhibitions. |

[a=James Deely & the Valiants] was one of the few bands to bridge the gap between the alternative world of the Green Parrot and the “Asbury Sound” of the Stone Pony. In the mid-80s, the band became known for great songwriting and raucous shows in clubs from Long Beach Island (LBI) to Asbury Park, including regular shows in Philadelphia and New York City. The band released three albums (Beyond The Beaches, Set The Night On Fire and Custom Made) and had steady airplay on radio stations from Philadelphia to the Jersey Shore. When the run was over, Deely joined the Disco Rejects led by [a=Vincent Lopez] for a brief while. He moved to Florida and formed the Big Show before heading out to California. Search | Add | 17 | Ed Cassidy | American drummer, born May 4, 1923, died December 6, 2012, who was one of the founders of the rock group Spirit in 1967. In 1950 he enrolled at college to get a musical teaching credential, but after about a year decided to leave and move to southern California to meet more jazz musicians and perhaps form a group of his own. During this period he performed together with many leading jazz musicians including Art Pepper, Julian Cannonball Adderley, Roland Kirk, Lee Konitz and Gerry Mulligan. With Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder, he formed the [a1391370] in 1964. After that, he formed the Red Roosters in 1965, with his young stepson Randy California, Jay Ferguson and Mark Andes. Adding John Locke, they became Spirit in 1967. A powerful, melodic and creative drummer, Cassidy was uniquely recognizable when on stage with Spirit. He sported a shaved head (very unusual at that time), always wore black, and instead of the double-bass drum kit that was popular at the time, he used a single large parade bass drum turned sideways, with pedals on each side. He had a proclivity for playing extended drum solos with his bare hands instead of drumsticks.

In 1948, he formed a band called the Indiana Red Birds that became pretty popular in the area. They were featured over the airwaves of radio station WGL in Fort Wayne every Saturday from noon to 1:00pm. They offered a variety of entertainment for their listening fans. The group often did appearances at the infamous Buck Lake Ranch. Joe Taylor was known as "The Cowboy Auctioneer". Other members of the Indiana Redbirds included an 18 year old accordionist, Patti Corbat. She could also do square dance calls, twirl the baton and provided some of the vocals. Connie "Cheeseburger" Smith provided expertise on the spanish and steel guitars. They termed Bill Allen a 'three-in-one' entertainer as he could play three instruments - bass, guitar and harmonica. And to round out the group's musical sounds, they had Gene Davis who provided good old fashioned hoe down fiddling. When Gene and Patti teamed up on a square dance, things got to moving in the halls where they performed. Search | Add | 17 | FRIDVYNITE | FRIDVYNITE ("frei Tag und Nacht") is a multilingual german-turkish artist and producer from Wuppertal, Germany. His modern alternative rap and rnb sound is shaped by dark and atmospheric harmonic dissonates. Hard rap parts combined with sung melodies bring a balance that drags you into his straightforward storytelling. Talking about experiences with drug abuse, crime, suicidal friends, and death, he brought impressions of his rainy past to live with his first mixtape ICH SEHE WAS WAS DU NICHT SIEHST ("I see what you cannot see"). With his uplifting humor and sense for describing things vividly, his music brings a bittersweet smile to his listeners faces. But neither existential crises nor racism hindered him of aspiring to learn and get better at doing what he loves to. That is why he never quit music during law school. He connects to that story with his latest release AUS DEN AUGEN AUS DEM SINN ("out of sight out of mind") assuring fans, he is here to stay and to build a future for his following.

(Saladillo being a district of Maracaibo) "Los Gaiteros del Pueblo" was also sometimes added to the name of the band. Later, in 1971, Ramón Quintero registered the name "Conjunto Saladillo" on his own and created a spin-off with some musicians, known as [a4950192]: this is a different group to the original, but they issued some LPs with the same name "Conjunto Saladillo". And at the same time, the rest of the initial band remained as El Conjunto Saladillo de Nerio Matheus or, later as "El Auténtico Saladillo". What makes it sometimes difficult to precisely credit the band. And today, 9 different gaita band exist with "Saladillo" in their name! A book dedicated to the band was even issued in 2015.

Search | Add | 17 | Sasss | Female trio of singers who were often hired by local producers, for background vocals on recording sessions. New York producers got wind of the group and began soliciting them for projects. The earlier Sasss days included the "You've Got What It Takes" UK Tour with Bobby Thurston. During the early 80s Sasss received the chance to travel to Europe, where they performed at various club venues in London, Scotland and Wales. Upon returning to the US, the group auditioned for a record promoter by the name of Maxx Kidd who immediately took them on and began managing the group. He introduced the group to Philadelphia International Records Producer and Songwriter, Dexter Wansel and Cynthia Biggs. Sasss began doing background recordings under Dexter's direction and were later featured on some of Lou Rawls' and Pieces of a Dream's recordings. Dexter signed the group with a London label, Virgin's 10 Records. One of their releases on the label, "I Didnt Mean It At All," made the International Billboard Charts. Sasss are also the recorded background voices on Sharon Redd's song "Can You Handle It," which was originally recorded for a Sasss release. Other contributions include Gayle Adams' songs "Love Fever" and "Your Love Is A Lifesaver" among several other Adams recordings.

Search | Add | 17 | Art Perko | Arthur J. Perko | Art Perko (1935 - 2008) was a leading talent of the new wave of young polka musicians who followed the Cleveland-Style legends of the 1950s. His most popular band line-up, featuring Billy Tomsick, Mike Dragas, Ray Sterle, and Roger DeBenedict, performed for 32 years. Cleveland's largely Slovenian St. Clair-Superior neighborhood was home to Art. He was considered one of the best boy sopranos in the St. Vitus school choir. He began accordion lessons at age six and led his first band at 13. Art and his band were frequent guests on the popular syndicated Polka Varieties television show in the 1960s and 1970s. The group was one of the first to record with the Delta International polka label. Art's four albums included many fan favorites, such as “Quick Stop Polka” and “Magic Trumpets.” He scored a pop hit with his bouncy “Peanuts Polka” in 1965. On Cleveland radio charts, "Peanuts" peaked at No. 9 the same week the Beatles’ “Ticket to Ride” was No. 1. After a ten-year break from music, Art formed a new band in 1998 and recorded an album, “Reunited.” In the 2000s, Art hosted Sunday night jam sessions in the Collinwood neighborhood at the 4-Rs Tavern. |

Search | Add | 17 | Sondra Williams | Sondra "Blinky" Williams (born May 21, 1944 in Oakland, California is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter. She recorded the album Hark The Voice on Atlantic Records, then moved to Motown where she recorded (as "Blinky") five singles including her debut, the Ashford & Simpson penned single "I Wouldn't Change The Man He Is", (a song reportedly written about Lovin' Spoonful studio bass player James Killingsworth) in 1968, and thought she would find success when she recorded a duet album with Edwin Starr entitled Just We Two on the heels of his 25 Miles. However, they did not get the push that either the Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell or the Supremes-Temptations duets did, and success again eluded her when, after becoming a protégé of Sammy Davis, Jr., his deal with the label fell through. Blinky released two further singles for Motown in the early 1970s (on the company's California-based MoWest subsidiary) and has had several others scheduled for release but never actually released. She is also credited with singing the theme for the 1970s TV series Good Times, along with Jim Gilstrap. His version of "God Bless The Child" appears on the album Rock Gospel: The Key To The Kingdom and her recording of "'Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness if I Do" is on the soundtrack of Lady Sings The Blues, the Billie Holiday bio-pic starring Diana Ross. Unfortunately, most of her solo work, save for a few singles, remained until 2019 unreleased. She can be heard live on the Motortown Revue Live! CD. In addition, she was one of the original Cogic Singers, with Andraé Crouch, Sandra Crouch, Billy Preston, Edna Wright (lead singer of The Honey Cone), Frankie Karl, and Gloria Jones. Following her non-success with Motown, she returned to gospel music and resumed her given name. On October 31, 2009, Sondra appeared as a backup singer, along with Sharon Jones, performing The Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main Street" as part of the rock band Phish's musical costume at their Festival 8, which was held at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California from October 30, 2009 through November 1, 2009.

Search | Add | 17 | Peter Buzzelle | Peter Buzzelle/Devil Love Boston, MA Hailing from the great Northwest, where he was a founding member of the pop-noise band Frequency dB, Peter Buzzelle is a singer/songwriter that can best be described as a devotee to guitar-centered Power Pop in the tradition of Big Star, The Posies, and The Shins. Dig a little deeper, though, and you’ll find additional layers that demonstrate a keen sense of song craft featuring a dichotomy of joy and melancholy mixed into a style heavy on melodic hooks, original riffs, and the occasional odd time signature. Shortly after his move to Boston, Buzzelle teamed up with producer/musician Chris Zerby (of Boston’s Helicopter Helicopter) to release two highly regarded full-length records, “To Telescope” and “Museum Of”, which saw him flexing a bit of rock guitar muscle while keeping one foot firmly planted in his Power Pop roots. “Museum Of is full of Buzzelle’s astute and catchy as hell power pop, and at times it reminds us of the finest moments in the aforementioned genre such as The Posies’ Frosting On The Beater, Matthew Sweet’s Girlfriend, and Big Star’s landmark #1 Record, while creating something engaging, original, and completely addicting.” –Bryan Hamill – The Ash Gray Proclamation, May 2012 Firmly established in the Boston music scene, Peter changed his approach in 2014 by going for more of a full-band vibe for his next recording, “Sea of White”, a 5 song EP recorded at Boston’s famed Q Division Studios. Co-produced by Craig Small (Airport) and Chris Zerby, and featuring some of Boston’s top-notch players (Craig Small on guitar, Chuck Ferreira on Drums, Ken Rothman on guitar, Matt Girard on Bass and James Rohr on keyboards), “Sea of White” garnered even more attention and saw Buzzelle signing with indie rock label, Hidden Trail Records. Accolades for the record were strong: “Sea Of White might be the best EP of 2014 to date and opener “I’m Gonna Know You” might be the best power ballad I’ve heard in years, with a swelling, catchy chorus, while “Till Death Do Us Part” and “Happiness and Misery” are a couple of excellent Posies/Matthew Sweet-styled rockers, “Our Life is the Song” closes things out in hooky fashion.” –Absolute Powerpop Blogspot In 2015 “Peter Buzzelle and The Academy” was born, in order to keep a more collaborative and consistent band approach intact, followed by a string of successful shows in the Boston area. Drawing from the core members of “The Academy”, recording began during the winter of 2016 at 1867 Studios with engineer and co-producer, James Bridges, at the helm. The result, “Devil Love” (released in September of 2016), may very well be Peter’s strongest work to date, featuring a diverse suite of songs that represent the full range of his core influences and writing style. Featuring Ken Rothman on guitar, Chuck Ferreira on drums, and Jamie Griffith on bass, “Devil Love” is a tour de force mix of gritty rock, catchy pop, and introspective soul searching from an artist hitting his full stride. 2017 figures to be a busy year for Peter Buzzelle and The Academy, with winter and spring dates in the works. Peter Buzzelle – guitar & vocals Ken Rothman – guitar & backing vocals Chuck Ferreira – drums, percussion, backing vocals Jason Raffi – bass
