Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 17 | Madhavrao Valavalkar | Madhavrao Valavalkar | Born in Sangli, Mr. Madhavrao Valavalkar lost his parents at an early age and was brought up at his maternal uncle’s residence in Zarap village. He completed his primary education there with Marathi as the medium of instruction. He then moved to Mumbai at the age of fourteen and was employed as a clerk between the years 1904 and 1914. Initially drawing a salary of Rs.8/- per month, he kept long hours in this job. His work involved maintaining accounts for his employer in the Modi script. During this period, he stayed at the Lohar Chawl or what was also known as the Princess Street area. Madhavrao was interested in theatre since his early days in Mumbai. He first saw Bal Gandharva playing the role of Subhadra in a theatrical production in 1908 at the Bombay Theatre. He was by then drawing a salary of Rs.15/- to Rs.20/- per month and financial constraints made it difficult for him to purchase a ticket for this performance. Despite this, he attended the performance and heard two songs from the second act of the play while standing in the corridor of the hall. His interest in music led him to join Anant Manohar Joshi’s Guru Sangeet Vidyalaya in 1913. Within the first three days of his joining this class, Joshi wondered why Madhavrao was working as a clerk when he had a good voice and an impressive physique - qualities that would enable him to join the theatre. Joshi suggested that he enter the world of theatre, as this would give him money and fame, and invited Keshavrao Bhosale, Virkar and others of the Lalit Kaladarsh Natak Mandali to audition Madhavrao. Bhosale stipulated that he would play the role of Narada in the play Soubhadra and the terms of employment would be decided based on this experience. Accordingly, he trained between 8 and 10 every morning and continued to work as a clerk after 11 a.m. This arrangement continued for a week but he was skeptical about the manner in which people would react to his decision to join the theatre. Those were the days when people involved in theatre were generally not treated with respect by the rest of society. Consequently, he stopped attending his music class and severed his nascent links with theatre. In 1914, Keshavrao Bhosale tried yet again to involve Madhavrao in theatre. Madhavrao finally decided to accept his invitation to join the Lalit Kaladarsh Natak Mandali and moved to Amravati for a month after taking a month’s leave from his employer. Bhosale decided to pay him a salary of Rs.40/- per month. His earlier job as accounts clerk came in handy even in his new position and he was also paid an extra Rs.10/- for maintaining accounts for the theatre company. Lodging and boarding was taken care of by the company. Initially, Madhavrao was asked to play the role of sutradhar (narrator) in various plays. He was Vasishta in Ramrajya, Narada in Soubhadra and Sharvilak in Mricchakatika. A year went by in this manner during which time, he received training in vocal music, posture and movement on stage, and in other aspects of theatrical performance. The preliminary training was conducted by Keshavrao Bhosale. While in Lalit Kaladarsh, Madhavrao gained public recognition for his roles in the plays Hach mulacha baap and Sanyasacha sansar. However, he left Lalit Kaladarsh in 1920 at Solapur due to a disagreement, and reached Mumbai to join the Gandharva Natak Mandali. His salary at the Lalit Kaladarsh was Rs.110/- at the time he left. Madhavrao joined the Gandharva Natak Mandali in 1921 and was associated with this company for a period of thirty years. The popularity of the Gandharva Natak Mandali was largely due to the enterprise and performances of its proprietor and eminent actor-singer Narayanrao Rajhauns alias Bal Gandharva. Madhavrao’s first role in the Gandharva Natak Mandali was that of Shukracharya in the play Vidyaharan. It was however his role as Krishna that brought him much public acclaim. He acted as Chokhoba in around 1931, which increased the devotional sentiment in him. In time to come, he developed a liking for harikirtan and began performing kirtans after retiring from theatre. In the long years of his association with the Gandharva Natak Mandali, Madhavrao had several interesting experiences both on and off stage. In 1925-26, Narayanrao and Shankarrao Vyas, disciples of Vishnu Digambar Paluskar organised a music conference in Ahmedabad. Scheduled among the performances were stage songs rendered by Vinayakrao Patwardhan. Patwardhan could not attend this festival due to unavoidable circumstances and sent Madhavrao in his stead. Madhavrao was in Baroda at the time with the Gandharva Natak Mandali for the birthday celebrations of Sayajirao Gaikwad, head of the princely state of Baroda and patron of the company. During this visit to Ahmedabad, Madhavrao experienced the way of life at the Sabarmati Ashram, where Narayan Khare, another disciple of Paluskar resided with his family. Khare had set to tune Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati bhajans in various raags.Madhavrao had the opportunity to be a part of the interaction that took place in the Gandharva Natak Mandali between actors-singers and other musicians. Among some of the reputed musicians in the Mandali were, Vinayakrao Patwardhan, disciple of Vishnu Digambar Paluskar, engaged as actor-singer in the company, and Ahmed Jan Thirakwa and Qadir Baksh, who were retained as tabla and sarangi players, respectively. His own account of his life and times shows him to be a man of great strength and resilience. He recounts a special concert of Faiyaz Khan that was organized in 1937 at Baroda for the Gandharva Natak Mandali. Faiyaz Khan asked for one of the Mandali actor-singers to sing before him. No one was willing to face this situation, but when Madhavrao was requested, he immediately agreed to do so. On another occasion, he agreed to step into a role normally played by another actor, since the latter was unwell. He knew the dialogues and songs meant for the other actor very well and he received tremendous public applause for his performance. He was extremely hard-working and did not let even the occasional health problem disturb his performance. On one such occasion, despite high fever, he continued with his part in the play.As an actor-singer, Madhavrao was known for his beautiful voice, clear speech delivery and a good physique. Madhavrao’s well-wishers and fans celebrated his 70th birthday at the Laxmi Baug Hall, Mumbai. Present at the function were historian N.R. Phatak, Bal Gandharva, renowned harmonium player Vitthalrao Korgaonkar, music director Vasant Desai and reputed lawyer Sushil Kavlekar, among other distinguished persons. References: G. F. | Search | Add | 17 | Astral Dance | Pelle Händén | Astral Dance is Pelle Händén, a Swedish synthesist and pioneer within Swedish electronica music who has always proved his worth as both an exemplary synthesist and composer of progressive soundscapes from beyond. He reveals himself as a multi-instrumentalist of great adeptness. All in all his music cutting across and blending a wide range of styles most effectively. A sense of atmosphere plays a key role and creates energetic electronica soundtrack-like moods. Astral Dance is a splendid machinery of talented creations. It is both very dark and wonderfully bright. There is plenty to choose from here. From soothing arpeggios, to the snarling but graceful drums. It is a world filled to the brim of oriental delights and music paradises. Slight basses and hums tiptoe. Dark pads sneak in then back out again. Twinkles of stars represent the sweet sounding arpeggios. High notes reaching the very sky and plucking the moon from it. Settling it nicely in us all. Romances abstract, grief and joy, lost moments of love and pain. I'ts all here for you. |

| Search | Add | 17 | Sasss | Female trio of singers who were often hired by local producers, for background vocals on recording sessions. New York producers got wind of the group and began soliciting them for projects. The earlier Sasss days included the "You've Got What It Takes" UK Tour with Bobby Thurston. During the early 80s Sasss received the chance to travel to Europe, where they performed at various club venues in London, Scotland and Wales. Upon returning to the US, the group auditioned for a record promoter by the name of Maxx Kidd who immediately took them on and began managing the group. He introduced the group to Philadelphia International Records Producer and Songwriter, Dexter Wansel and Cynthia Biggs. Sasss began doing background recordings under Dexter's direction and were later featured on some of Lou Rawls' and Pieces of a Dream's recordings. Dexter signed the group with a London label, Virgin's 10 Records. One of their releases on the label, "I Didnt Mean It At All," made the International Billboard Charts. Sasss are also the recorded background voices on Sharon Redd's song "Can You Handle It," which was originally recorded for a Sasss release. Other contributions include Gayle Adams' songs "Love Fever" and "Your Love Is A Lifesaver" among several other Adams recordings. | |

| Search | Add | 17 | Biggy Smallz | Tim Bigelow | Biggy Smallz (born in 1979) was an underground White/Latino rapper from the west coast who started recording music in 1991 when he was around 12 years old. He is the main reason The Notorious B.I.G. was unable to use his nickname (Biggie Smalls) as his official stage name. By the time The Notorious B.I.G's album Ready To Die dropped in September 1994, the original Biggy Smallz was just 16 years old. Ready To Die inadvertently helped boost the sales of the original Biggy Smallz' records due to confusion in the listening market. In other words, people accidentally bought Biggy Smallz' records thinking they were buying The Notorious B.I.G's. Although he did release other songs. When The Gulf War ended in 1991 he, like many artists, created a tribute song about it entitled "When Duty Calls." |

| Search | Add | 17 | Andrew Cane | Canadian-born Andrew Cane studied jazz-harmonics, worked as a session player on electric guitar and started to play “Bach” on classical guitar to enhance his skills, lately. His first paid job as musician was with a British punk band in the mid eighties, which led him to many other gigs with punk-rock bands in the following years. Andrew’s formidable guitar skills paid homage to garage rock, blues and punk and as a jazz trained musician Andrew wasn’t satisfied by performing with punk bands only and he expanded to play with hard rock bands where he also started to develop his writer skills, eventually. Soon Andrew was known for writing catchy riffs and songs which became 50 percent of his daily working routine. He wrote and released numerous songs for punk, reggae, ska and hard rock. In 1999 his song “Free” was performed live with his band “Cane” for the Eurovision Song Contest broadcasted for over 10 millions of viewers. In 2001 his band “Cane” supported AC/DC on their “Stiff Upper Lip” tour and follow up tours in 2003, 2009, performing original songs written by Andrew Cane. Andrew Cane continued to juggle his responsibilities as he performed with several bands, produced albums for other artists. | |

| Search | Add | 17 | Peter Buzzelle | Peter Buzzelle/Devil Love Boston, MA Hailing from the great Northwest, where he was a founding member of the pop-noise band Frequency dB, Peter Buzzelle is a singer/songwriter that can best be described as a devotee to guitar-centered Power Pop in the tradition of Big Star, The Posies, and The Shins. Dig a little deeper, though, and you’ll find additional layers that demonstrate a keen sense of song craft featuring a dichotomy of joy and melancholy mixed into a style heavy on melodic hooks, original riffs, and the occasional odd time signature. Shortly after his move to Boston, Buzzelle teamed up with producer/musician Chris Zerby (of Boston’s Helicopter Helicopter) to release two highly regarded full-length records, “To Telescope” and “Museum Of”, which saw him flexing a bit of rock guitar muscle while keeping one foot firmly planted in his Power Pop roots. “Museum Of is full of Buzzelle’s astute and catchy as hell power pop, and at times it reminds us of the finest moments in the aforementioned genre such as The Posies’ Frosting On The Beater, Matthew Sweet’s Girlfriend, and Big Star’s landmark #1 Record, while creating something engaging, original, and completely addicting.” –Bryan Hamill – The Ash Gray Proclamation, May 2012 Firmly established in the Boston music scene, Peter changed his approach in 2014 by going for more of a full-band vibe for his next recording, “Sea of White”, a 5 song EP recorded at Boston’s famed Q Division Studios. Co-produced by Craig Small (Airport) and Chris Zerby, and featuring some of Boston’s top-notch players (Craig Small on guitar, Chuck Ferreira on Drums, Ken Rothman on guitar, Matt Girard on Bass and James Rohr on keyboards), “Sea of White” garnered even more attention and saw Buzzelle signing with indie rock label, Hidden Trail Records. Accolades for the record were strong: “Sea Of White might be the best EP of 2014 to date and opener “I’m Gonna Know You” might be the best power ballad I’ve heard in years, with a swelling, catchy chorus, while “Till Death Do Us Part” and “Happiness and Misery” are a couple of excellent Posies/Matthew Sweet-styled rockers, “Our Life is the Song” closes things out in hooky fashion.” –Absolute Powerpop Blogspot In 2015 “Peter Buzzelle and The Academy” was born, in order to keep a more collaborative and consistent band approach intact, followed by a string of successful shows in the Boston area. Drawing from the core members of “The Academy”, recording began during the winter of 2016 at 1867 Studios with engineer and co-producer, James Bridges, at the helm. The result, “Devil Love” (released in September of 2016), may very well be Peter’s strongest work to date, featuring a diverse suite of songs that represent the full range of his core influences and writing style. Featuring Ken Rothman on guitar, Chuck Ferreira on drums, and Jamie Griffith on bass, “Devil Love” is a tour de force mix of gritty rock, catchy pop, and introspective soul searching from an artist hitting his full stride. 2017 figures to be a busy year for Peter Buzzelle and The Academy, with winter and spring dates in the works. Peter Buzzelle – guitar & vocals Ken Rothman – guitar & backing vocals Chuck Ferreira – drums, percussion, backing vocals Jason Raffi – bass | |

Then he moved on to a brief partnership with the music major program at Cheyney State College in Pennsylvania. Realizing his foundation was solidly formed, Koran joined forces with friends he grew up with in the internationally known group Atlantic Starr to complete his professional status. While active with Atlantic Starr, Koran also recorded with The Temptations, Lonnie Liston Smith and Sun Ra as a section player as well as a soloist. Later as time passed he began to find his range of expression. To further its width a temporary break away from the group was needed to connect with Norman Connors' trumpeter Duke Jones (also an original member of the group before it became Atlantic Starr). Taking a group on tour to asia, Duke brought Koran on board for the trip to the east. As well as experiencing a new culture (Japan), Koran's prime directive was to learn and incorperate the Jazz form Be Bop into his R&B skills. He started to work with the Japanese blues artist Masaki Ueda. Being that Blues is so close to R&B, the professional relationship between Masaki and himself quickly materialized into a longtime friendship. Working together as much as their individual schedules will permit them to. Other Tokyo based artists he works with include Nanase Aikawa, Oguro Maki, and Lyrico. Experiencing the east with more vocabulary, he rejoins forces with his old time friends Atlantic Starr when they bring there tour to Asia. Furthermore, Korian has performed with Bobby Watson (original bassist from Rufus & Chaka Khan), Tommy Campbell, Paul Jackson (original bassist from Herbie Hancock's Headhunters) and others such as Jazz artists Stan Gilbert and Tom Pierson, pop artists such as Swing Out Sister, r&b artists Janet Kaye and Diana King, and reggae artists Sly & Robbie. Dorian hand picked a specially formed Smooth Jazz quartet to perform for the grand opening at the Bilboard Live in Tokyo and has performed at other venues such as the Osaka Blue Note and the Cotton Club in Tokyo.

PEPPINO PIPPIA (Fisarmonicista) Born in Narbolia in 1937, Peppino Pippia was the first accordionist to go on stage and accompany the cantadores (Singers of Sardinian folklore with guitar "Cantu a chitarra"), along with the traditional guitarist. It happened during a race at Codrongianos. [a=Nicolino Cabizza], convinced that the stage should be enriched and renewed with another figure, invited Peppino Pippia, then very young, to perform together with the cantadores and the guitarist. For Sardinian singing it was a true revolution, appreciated by innovators and challenged by traditionalists. For Peppino Pippia it was undoubtedly a growing success, especially since he partnered with guitarist [a=Adolfo Merella], forming a close-knit and high-quality duo. Many of his performances, not only in Sardinia and in Italy, but also abroad, and not less the recordings. | Search | Add | 17 | Joachim Stiller | Joachim Stiller is one of many monikers used by visual artist and experimental musician [a=Mees Joachim], whose name is derived from a character from a book by Hubert Lampo, namely ‘De komst van Joachim Stiller’, from which Mees’ middle name is derived as well. The artist has been using the Joachim Stiller moniker for many moons, though the name was only used for a series of performances, a documentary and DJ-sets prior to the release of [r=29239720] in late 2023, a project in collaboration with [a=Absolute Candor], which was their first outing of original music as Joachim Stiller. April 2024 saw the release of Joachim Stiller's debut album [r=30513193], which was released on and by the Bad Boy Jesus Tape Club ([l=BBJTC]). The album emerged from remnants of the soundtrack from a cancelled videogame and a shelved space-jazz album and were reformed as a 45 minute ambient-synth opera about 'the many states of water and what lays within'. The exhuberantly long track titles, though curtailed on streaming services, function as little vignettes to paint a scene around the audio.
| Search | Add | 17 | Sebastian Fraye | Designer/Beatmaker based in San Francisco, USA. California native Sebastian Fraye started out playing instruments from a very young age, sparking an affinity for drums and beats. Although a graphic designer by trade, his passion for music and producing is endless. His approach to producing is spontaneous and experimental—an exploration of cinematic soundscapes that takes you to another world. Inspired by artists that came before him, he pushes the boundaries of the expected to create his own sound. And his love for music from around the world leaves no door closed when it comes to what could potentially find its way into a new composition. He enjoys digging for obscure sounds and instruments to include into his music, often juxtaposing those from polar opposite origins. He believes the best feeling that comes from creating music is when you surprise yourself. | |

Bandung introduced Riandy to the indie and underground music scene, which he often did illustrations for album covers and band merchandise. Straddling the dualities of reality and fantasy, Riandy as a visual artist is able to create a porthole into alternative realms and curious landscapes that transport the viewer into a hallucinogenic state of mind. The energies between natural life forms and technology are brought to life as he transcends between alien landscapes veiled in vivid auras crawling with beasts juxtapozed with dream like sci-fi elements. Karuniawan’s preoccupation with unlocking the unconscious mind is reflected in his style.

| Search | Add | 17 | Folja | Konrad Zduniak | FOLJA is a sonic and visual alter ego of polish artist Konrad Zduniak. Initially FOLJA emerged as an concept audio art project consisting of instrumental music based on sounds downloaded from the internet databases and video works. The title of the debut four-track mini album „Pyramids and Stars and Our Bodies Together” as well as the cover image were chosen randomly, following the popular, facetious online manual. Its physical copies where delivered to the random individuals around the world using the giftastranger.com website or hidden in the unknown locations. Videos documented placing the album copies in public for strangers to find. In 2011 FOLJA’s first full-lenght instrumental album „Pompa Funebris” was released by an independent label Sangoplasmo Records on the cassette tapes. The album was followed by one more instrumental release, a Midnight Symphony single in 2013. Two years later, in early 2015, with the self-released single “Water Can Break the Rocks”, FOLJA presented a new sonic direction, developing a singer-songwriter electronic pop. |

| Search | Add | 17 | Sondra Williams | Sondra "Blinky" Williams (born May 21, 1944 in Oakland, California is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter. She recorded the album Hark The Voice on Atlantic Records, then moved to Motown where she recorded (as "Blinky") five singles including her debut, the Ashford & Simpson penned single "I Wouldn't Change The Man He Is", (a song reportedly written about Lovin' Spoonful studio bass player James Killingsworth) in 1968, and thought she would find success when she recorded a duet album with Edwin Starr entitled Just We Two on the heels of his 25 Miles. However, they did not get the push that either the Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell or the Supremes-Temptations duets did, and success again eluded her when, after becoming a protégé of Sammy Davis, Jr., his deal with the label fell through. Blinky released two further singles for Motown in the early 1970s (on the company's California-based MoWest subsidiary) and has had several others scheduled for release but never actually released. She is also credited with singing the theme for the 1970s TV series Good Times, along with Jim Gilstrap. His version of "God Bless The Child" appears on the album Rock Gospel: The Key To The Kingdom and her recording of "'Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness if I Do" is on the soundtrack of Lady Sings The Blues, the Billie Holiday bio-pic starring Diana Ross. Unfortunately, most of her solo work, save for a few singles, remained until 2019 unreleased. She can be heard live on the Motortown Revue Live! CD. In addition, she was one of the original Cogic Singers, with Andraé Crouch, Sandra Crouch, Billy Preston, Edna Wright (lead singer of The Honey Cone), Frankie Karl, and Gloria Jones. Following her non-success with Motown, she returned to gospel music and resumed her given name. On October 31, 2009, Sondra appeared as a backup singer, along with Sharon Jones, performing The Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main Street" as part of the rock band Phish's musical costume at their Festival 8, which was held at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California from October 30, 2009 through November 1, 2009.

His most popular band line-up, featuring Billy Tomsick, Mike Dragas, Ray Sterle, and Roger DeBenedict, performed for 32 years. Cleveland's largely Slovenian St. Clair-Superior neighborhood was home to Art. He was considered one of the best boy sopranos in the St. Vitus school choir. He began accordion lessons at age six and led his first band at 13. Art and his band were frequent guests on the popular syndicated Polka Varieties television show in the 1960s and 1970s. The group was one of the first to record with the Delta International polka label. Art's four albums included many fan favorites, such as “Quick Stop Polka” and “Magic Trumpets.” He scored a pop hit with his bouncy “Peanuts Polka” in 1965. On Cleveland radio charts, "Peanuts" peaked at No. 9 the same week the Beatles’ “Ticket to Ride” was No. 1. After a ten-year break from music, Art formed a new band in 1998 and recorded an album, “Reunited.” In the 2000s, Art hosted Sunday night jam sessions in the Collinwood neighborhood at the 4-Rs Tavern. |

His cheery smile and devotion to 'clean' entertainment earned him the respect of the theatrical world. Zebra-striped cars heralded a Sorlie show in many a country town. His most famous part was the lead in Uncle Tom's Cabin: on one occasion a Townsville publican protested at the whipping Tom received from Simon Legree. Helpless on the floor with laughter, Sorlie was unable to reassure his audience that the whipping was theatrical. |
