Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 17 | Trust Your Heart | A continuation of [a2167626], an Italian black / "unblack" metal project. Trust Your Heart was active from early 2015 to October 2021. The idea was to give Animae Capronii a "fresh start", fully separating from its past. Also, the music was intended to have less black metal influence in the music than before, focusing more on heavy/power metal. In addition to CDr, all releases are available for free download from Mediafire. Note: Some copies of Trust Your Heart's albums are in color, and some are in black-and-white. This is just a consequence of the albums being made by hand. Unless otherwise specified, both color variations are official, and do not come from separate runs/versions.

Search | Add | 17 | Sasss | Female trio of singers who were often hired by local producers, for background vocals on recording sessions. New York producers got wind of the group and began soliciting them for projects. The earlier Sasss days included the "You've Got What It Takes" UK Tour with Bobby Thurston. During the early 80s Sasss received the chance to travel to Europe, where they performed at various club venues in London, Scotland and Wales. Upon returning to the US, the group auditioned for a record promoter by the name of Maxx Kidd who immediately took them on and began managing the group. He introduced the group to Philadelphia International Records Producer and Songwriter, Dexter Wansel and Cynthia Biggs. Sasss began doing background recordings under Dexter's direction and were later featured on some of Lou Rawls' and Pieces of a Dream's recordings. Dexter signed the group with a London label, Virgin's 10 Records. One of their releases on the label, "I Didnt Mean It At All," made the International Billboard Charts. Sasss are also the recorded background voices on Sharon Redd's song "Can You Handle It," which was originally recorded for a Sasss release. Other contributions include Gayle Adams' songs "Love Fever" and "Your Love Is A Lifesaver" among several other Adams recordings.

Search | Add | 17 | The Indiana Red Birds | Joe Taylor was a native of Portsmouth, Ohio and later when he was 16, his family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1948, he formed a band called the Indiana Red Birds that became pretty popular in the area. They were featured over the airwaves of radio station WGL in Fort Wayne every Saturday from noon to 1:00pm. They offered a variety of entertainment for their listening fans. The group often did appearances at the infamous Buck Lake Ranch. Joe Taylor was known as "The Cowboy Auctioneer". Other members of the Indiana Redbirds included an 18 year old accordionist, Patti Corbat. She could also do square dance calls, twirl the baton and provided some of the vocals. Connie "Cheeseburger" Smith provided expertise on the spanish and steel guitars. They termed Bill Allen a 'three-in-one' entertainer as he could play three instruments - bass, guitar and harmonica. And to round out the group's musical sounds, they had Gene Davis who provided good old fashioned hoe down fiddling. When Gene and Patti teamed up on a square dance, things got to moving in the halls where they performed. Group Members included: Joe "The Cowboy Auctioneer" Taylor (Born: May 11, 1921 - Died: March 24, 2011) Patty Corbat, accordion Connie "Cheeseburger" Smith, Spanish and steel guitar Bill Allen, bass, guitar and harmonica Gene Davis, hoe-down fiddler Credits & Sources Cowboy Songs No. 21; July 1952; American Folk Publications, Inc.; Derby, CT

Search | Add | 17 | Astral Dance | Pelle Händén | Astral Dance is Pelle Händén, a Swedish synthesist and pioneer within Swedish electronica music who has always proved his worth as both an exemplary synthesist and composer of progressive soundscapes from beyond. He reveals himself as a multi-instrumentalist of great adeptness. All in all his music cutting across and blending a wide range of styles most effectively. A sense of atmosphere plays a key role and creates energetic electronica soundtrack-like moods. Astral Dance is a splendid machinery of talented creations. It is both very dark and wonderfully bright. There is plenty to choose from here. From soothing arpeggios, to the snarling but graceful drums. It is a world filled to the brim of oriental delights and music paradises. Slight basses and hums tiptoe. Dark pads sneak in then back out again. Twinkles of stars represent the sweet sounding arpeggios. High notes reaching the very sky and plucking the moon from it. Settling it nicely in us all. Romances abstract, grief and joy, lost moments of love and pain. I'ts all here for you. |

Search | Add | 17 | Toys Of Joy | Danish late 80's duo band from Helsingør (Elsinore). Toys of Joy, brilliant danish westcoast pop… Toys of Joy started back in 1989 under the bandname “Dont Mention The War”. This was a musical workshop for a bunch of musicians from Elsinore (hometown of west coast music in Denmark). In this workshop the singer Henrik Launbjerg played together with the guitarplayer Hans Henrik Egestorp. They started working on some demomaterial that Henrik Launbjerg had written. With this Henrik Launbjerg got signed to a label. Under the recording process Henrik Launbjerg song on some material written by Hans Henrik Launbjerg and this was the beginning of Toys of Joy. In 1990 the first single “When The Rain Falls” released and was followed up by the album “One Of These Days”. The album did´nt get a big commercial succes, but is today getting a lot of interest, especially from the international market. Toys of Joy is a very melodic in their songwriting on this album, so take a closer look on this – you won´t regret it! In the spring of 1995 Toys of Joy released their second album “Still Be”. This album is more “down to basic” and is recorded more like a bandproject than a studioproject. “Still Be” was a bigger commercial succes, maybe because that Henrik Launbjerg´s voice is really in focus on this album. He has always been called “The Danish Don Henley” and on “Still Be” you really can hear this. After the first 2 releases Toys of Joy has changed their name to Tois and also got a new member Morten Bolvig, who played keyboard on the first albums. With Tois they recorded songs to the next album, but the recording sessions did not end in any albumrelease. Tois has 3 cd-singles releases “Back To Life”, “Kinda Funky” & “Every Road”. Late 2001 the band stopped and the leadsinger Henrik Launbjerg focused on his solo career.

Later on in 1967, the Temple in Srinivasamangapuram, Narayanavanam, Nagalapuram were added. In 1980s, The temples in Karvetinagaram, and Appalayagunta were added as the organization's revenues also grew. Today, the TTD (as it is affectionately called) is a Behemoth organization managing more than 17 temples spread across India, more than 20 educational institutions, 3 major hospitals with specialty services, 3 Universities of which one each is engineering and medicine, and more than 1000 real estate assets spread across the entire breadth of the Indian subcontinent. They also help propagate the glory of Sri Venkateswara - the presiding deity of the Temple at Tirumala, and Goddess Sri Padmavathi at Tiruchanur through their wholly owned broadcast channel SVBC in multiple languages. They also manage a full-fledged dairy farm, and gardens spread over 50 acres at various places on the top of the Tirumala Hills at elevations of over 3000 feet above Sea level, hundreds of dorms for devotees who come visit The temple, including huge kitchens for feeding hundreds of thousands of devotees every single day. It is not exaggerating when we say the TTD is like a government on its own and never sleeps, literally. They have their own security and vigilance departments, and also handle millions of rupees in cash every single day that come as offerings from devotees. |

By the time The Notorious B.I.G's album Ready To Die dropped in September 1994, the original Biggy Smallz was just 16 years old. Ready To Die inadvertently helped boost the sales of the original Biggy Smallz' records due to confusion in the listening market. In other words, people accidentally bought Biggy Smallz' records thinking they were buying The Notorious B.I.G's. Although he did release other songs. When The Gulf War ended in 1991 he, like many artists, created a tribute song about it entitled "When Duty Calls." |

Born Nahum Narodietzky to a religious family in Kiev, Nardi began studying piano at age 7. He graduated from the Kiev Conservatory in 1919, then successfully attended conservatories in Warsaw and Vienna. From 1922, he toured widely in Europe. In 1923, he emigrated to Palestine where he changed his last name to Nardi. On another tour to Europe in 1929, Nardi met Yemenite Jewish singer [a=Bracha Zifira], who was studying in Berlin, Germany, at that time. Both began touring Europe together, got married, and had a daughter, [a=Naama Nardi] (1931-1989). In 1931, they toured Egypt, in 1936, they performed at the opening ceremony of the Palestine Broadcasting Service. At the invitation of [l=Columbia], Nardi and Zifira made several recordings for that label and toured the United States in 1937. In 1939, however, the couple separated. After accompanying other Yemenite singers for a while, Nardi returned to performing and composing Classical concert music. In 1947 he represented Israel at the "World Congress of Music and Sound" in Paris. In 1949, when the U.S. television network NBC aired a show about his life and work of Nardi, he wrote a ballet suite, "Mapala Venitzahon," that was performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Later, Nardi founded a girl's choir and invited singer [a=Ahuva Tsadok] to sing in it. He and Tsadok married in 1955 and performed together both in Israel and the U.S., but their relationship also ended in divorce three years later. Nardi composed 1,111 songs, including around 300 children's songs. Eighty of these were based on lyrics by poet [a=Hayim Nahman Bialik]. |

Search | Add | 17 | FRIDVYNITE | FRIDVYNITE ("frei Tag und Nacht") is a multilingual german-turkish artist and producer from Wuppertal, Germany. His modern alternative rap and rnb sound is shaped by dark and atmospheric harmonic dissonates. Hard rap parts combined with sung melodies bring a balance that drags you into his straightforward storytelling. Talking about experiences with drug abuse, crime, suicidal friends, and death, he brought impressions of his rainy past to live with his first mixtape ICH SEHE WAS WAS DU NICHT SIEHST ("I see what you cannot see"). With his uplifting humor and sense for describing things vividly, his music brings a bittersweet smile to his listeners faces. But neither existential crises nor racism hindered him of aspiring to learn and get better at doing what he loves to. That is why he never quit music during law school. He connects to that story with his latest release AUS DEN AUGEN AUS DEM SINN ("out of sight out of mind") assuring fans, he is here to stay and to build a future for his following.

Manifold learned to play guitar and after completing his education, he sought a singing career. He was influenced by country artists such as Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams. He was also greatly inspired by the recordings and particularly the yodels of Wilf Carter (Montana Slim) and quickly became one of the few British artists to become completely proficient in the art of yodelling. He made his professional debut at a local club in Derbyshire in June 1965. In 1974, he became the first UK country artist to benefit from appearances on television’sOpportunity Knocks, eventually finishing second to the series’ overall winner Lena Zavaroni. He made his first recordings for the Westwood label in 1974. In 1975, he performed the winning song, ‘Who’s Gonna Bring Me Laughter’, in the 1975Opportunity Knocks Songwriters Competition, which led him to record for a major label, and he was also voted the Billboard Best British Solo Artist at London’s Wembley Festival. In 1977, he recorded for DJM and in September 1978, he was sponsored and taken to the USA to record an album in Nashville, using Nashville musicians. In 1986, he varied his style to record a gospel album, on which he was backed by the Pilling Brass Ensemble. Manifold maintained his popularity over the years, he toured extensively in the UK and also regularly played in several European venues. Occasionally he performed onstage with his two daughters. He also owned an entertainments agency and was involved with promotional work and a recording studio. He died just before a gig after suffering a sudden heart attack.

Search | Add | 17 | Rawlston Charles | Charles was born in Tobago, moving to Trinidad when he was 15. Shortly after that, he migrated to the United States, where he got involved in the automobile business, repairing, buying and selling cars. The transition from this lucrative enterprise to the shaky ground of the music arena came gradually and quite by chance. Nowhere in his plans did Charles ever intend to become involved with the recording industry—the closest he had ever come to musical activities had been as a member of the church choir during his teens. Charles had travelled to the US with his copy of Kitchener’s 1967 album. He began to add to his calypso collection, and would take his records with him whenever he went liming or partying on weekends. Eventually he started to DJ at these events and things just took off. It was very hard to get calypso records, but as a DJ Charles would not play any other music. Calypso records also cost more, as they had to be imported into the US.So Charles opened his own record store, on July 4,1972, and the next year he began to travel back to Trinidad to make contact with calypsonians and bandleaders, get their music and take it back to the States. Next he became an executive producer and started Charlie’s Records. The first production on the label was an album entitled Labor Day in Brooklyn with Mano Marcellin—which didn’t even sell 100 copies. This did not stop Charles, who admitted that at the time he knew nothing of the music business, so he set out to get it right by connecting with the right people. By 1975 Charles was putting out music from just about every major calypso and soca act of the day. Then, in 1977, he hit upon what would be the artist and the song that finally earned him the respect of the biggest players in the arena, when he made a judgment call on a piece of music that at first left people saying he was a madman. But when Calypso Rose became the first woman ever to win the Road March title, everyone admitted that Charles was not only a man with vision, but also had a sixth sense when it came to what would make a hit. Charles built and opened his recording studio in 1984. It was used not only by calypso and soca artistes, but also some of the biggest names in the East Coast hip-hop fraternity, such as Dougie Fresh, Slick Rick, and RUN-DMC. The gold records they were awarded were once proudly displayed in the studio’s hallway, but most of them were stolen some years ago and only a couple of them were salvaged. As for the music business today, despite all the changes there is hope, he says. “Fifteen years ago the youth were not interested in soca, but now, with the young artistes coming in, the youth are interested in the music and even exploring what was there before. I am here,” says this veteran, “looking forward to a bright future.”

Search | Add | 17 | Hex Kommando | HEX KOM aka Hex Kommando | Hex Kommando (also HEX KOM) is an obscure lo-fi experimental ritual industrial & synthpop/coldwave project by Noise Nazi. It began a few weeks after the passing of NN's mother. And became an avenue for total experimentation in genres that were new & challenging (although NN had been a fan of these genres for a long time), while reigning with total self expression & madness. It combines influences from synthpop, darkwave, new wave, coldwave, goth rock, industrial, avant garde, minimal wave, electro and even disco/Hi-NRG! Every demo/album pulls elements from these genres. Along with noise & power electronics. Some albums & tracks are recorded on the spot (improvised) and are intentionally sloppy, disorganized & often have recording mistakes left in the songs themselves. This entire project was an experimental journey for Noise Nazi, learning to play different synths and keys and attempting to create something different, other than simply noise music. The first few songs and demos by HK were intentionally disorganized, lo-fi, obscure quality and with indiscernible vocals. The original intent was to embody the audio form of a dextromethorphan trip. While later on the project moved towards more organized, cleaner produced synth wave & experimental music. While some EP's and later demos also became dark ritual industrial music. Although Hex Kom retained some of it's indiscernible vocals style as to not Hex listeners with words or repeated choruses. The lyrics are secret & some tracks have discernible vocals when they are meant to invoke an emotion, spirit or incantation. |

The show eventually became “Chmielewski Funtime", and Florian produced more than 2,000 episodes that were televised on 42 stations nationwide. By the 1970s, the band included a fourth generation of the family — Florian’s children, Florian Jr., Jeff, Mark and Patty. By 2014, a SIXTH generation of family members hit the stage. The group later created the label and issued their songs on "Chmielewski Records" (C Records). Florian Chmielewski later became a Senator in the United States, and this was reflected with the issue of an album titled "Funtime, The Swinging Senator" (C Records).

Search | Add | 17 | Peter Buzzelle | Peter Buzzelle/Devil Love Boston, MA Hailing from the great Northwest, where he was a founding member of the pop-noise band Frequency dB, Peter Buzzelle is a singer/songwriter that can best be described as a devotee to guitar-centered Power Pop in the tradition of Big Star, The Posies, and The Shins. Dig a little deeper, though, and you’ll find additional layers that demonstrate a keen sense of song craft featuring a dichotomy of joy and melancholy mixed into a style heavy on melodic hooks, original riffs, and the occasional odd time signature. Shortly after his move to Boston, Buzzelle teamed up with producer/musician Chris Zerby (of Boston’s Helicopter Helicopter) to release two highly regarded full-length records, “To Telescope” and “Museum Of”, which saw him flexing a bit of rock guitar muscle while keeping one foot firmly planted in his Power Pop roots. “Museum Of is full of Buzzelle’s astute and catchy as hell power pop, and at times it reminds us of the finest moments in the aforementioned genre such as The Posies’ Frosting On The Beater, Matthew Sweet’s Girlfriend, and Big Star’s landmark #1 Record, while creating something engaging, original, and completely addicting.” –Bryan Hamill – The Ash Gray Proclamation, May 2012 Firmly established in the Boston music scene, Peter changed his approach in 2014 by going for more of a full-band vibe for his next recording, “Sea of White”, a 5 song EP recorded at Boston’s famed Q Division Studios. Co-produced by Craig Small (Airport) and Chris Zerby, and featuring some of Boston’s top-notch players (Craig Small on guitar, Chuck Ferreira on Drums, Ken Rothman on guitar, Matt Girard on Bass and James Rohr on keyboards), “Sea of White” garnered even more attention and saw Buzzelle signing with indie rock label, Hidden Trail Records. Accolades for the record were strong: “Sea Of White might be the best EP of 2014 to date and opener “I’m Gonna Know You” might be the best power ballad I’ve heard in years, with a swelling, catchy chorus, while “Till Death Do Us Part” and “Happiness and Misery” are a couple of excellent Posies/Matthew Sweet-styled rockers, “Our Life is the Song” closes things out in hooky fashion.” –Absolute Powerpop Blogspot In 2015 “Peter Buzzelle and The Academy” was born, in order to keep a more collaborative and consistent band approach intact, followed by a string of successful shows in the Boston area. Drawing from the core members of “The Academy”, recording began during the winter of 2016 at 1867 Studios with engineer and co-producer, James Bridges, at the helm. The result, “Devil Love” (released in September of 2016), may very well be Peter’s strongest work to date, featuring a diverse suite of songs that represent the full range of his core influences and writing style. Featuring Ken Rothman on guitar, Chuck Ferreira on drums, and Jamie Griffith on bass, “Devil Love” is a tour de force mix of gritty rock, catchy pop, and introspective soul searching from an artist hitting his full stride. 2017 figures to be a busy year for Peter Buzzelle and The Academy, with winter and spring dates in the works. Peter Buzzelle – guitar & vocals Ken Rothman – guitar & backing vocals Chuck Ferreira – drums, percussion, backing vocals Jason Raffi – bass

Search | Add | 17 | Ed Cassidy | American drummer, born May 4, 1923, died December 6, 2012, who was one of the founders of the rock group Spirit in 1967. In 1950 he enrolled at college to get a musical teaching credential, but after about a year decided to leave and move to southern California to meet more jazz musicians and perhaps form a group of his own. During this period he performed together with many leading jazz musicians including Art Pepper, Julian Cannonball Adderley, Roland Kirk, Lee Konitz and Gerry Mulligan. With Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder, he formed the [a1391370] in 1964. After that, he formed the Red Roosters in 1965, with his young stepson Randy California, Jay Ferguson and Mark Andes. Adding John Locke, they became Spirit in 1967. A powerful, melodic and creative drummer, Cassidy was uniquely recognizable when on stage with Spirit. He sported a shaved head (very unusual at that time), always wore black, and instead of the double-bass drum kit that was popular at the time, he used a single large parade bass drum turned sideways, with pedals on each side. He had a proclivity for playing extended drum solos with his bare hands instead of drumsticks.

Search | Add | 17 | PureGrand | Luke Faulkner | Luke Faulkner (b 1996, Dublin) is an Irish photographer, filmmaker and visual artist, he is also a musician under the guise PureGrand. His work is informed by 20th century media and technology and is influenced by popular culture. He combines this with current trends, topics and ideas to create a unique blend of old and new. A photographer by trade, since 2016 Faulkner has been performing music under the guise PureGrand, a synthpop outfit with a distinct marriage of strong pop hooks, introspective lyrics and striking visuals which he writes, produces and creates himself. Faulkner has combined his love of pop music and visual arts by working on visual projects and photography for other up and coming Irish pop artists such as Jack Rua, Babylamb, CMAT, ELKAE and GMG. Songs like the ballad “Flowers” and the beat driven synth pop tracks “Timeline” and “Such A Fright” earned Faulkner a place on the Nialler9’ Best New Irish Artists 2020 as well as Hot Press’s Hot for 2021. The debut PureGrand album was released in Spring 2022, which combines music, photography and video and is centred thematically around his own experience (and that of his friends) of being stunted in your mid twenties by factors out of your control. The project is inspired in sound and vision by mid late 90s pop music, which acts as a vehicle in which to explore the project’s themes. |

Search | Add | 17 | Kent Bowman | Kent Hamilton Bowman | Born on September 2, 1923 in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai'i, Bowman was, according to the "No Talk Stink" liner notes, an ethnic blend of French, Hawaiian, Scottish, and English. He was a graduate of 'Iolani High School and enrolled in the military during World War II. Upon returning, he worked with some of the top businesses in Honolulu and earned such roles as vice president and general manager, roles that he would keep until he retired in 1990. For fun, he used his comedic talents over the radio airwaves with Hula Records' founder Don McDiarmid, Jr., which lead to him developing routines and re-interpreting popular nursery rhymes into the Hawaiian "pigdin English" dialect. While he stopped making recordings after 1969, he would continue to do public performances using the characters he brought to his records, all while maintaining his proper day jobs. He did make one last recording in 1998, reviving his old K.K. Ka'umania character, his first and only album recorded digitally. After retirement, he and his family moved to Las Vegas. He died there on December 20, 2007 at the age of 84. |

Search | Add | 17 | Stamps Ozark Quartet | American vocal quartet, originally founded as the Stamps-Baxter Ozark Quartet in 1947 in Arkansas. The group went through some line-up changes, and was renamed to Stamps Ozark Quartet in 1948, and relocated to Wichita Falls, Texas. The quartet was mainly associated with the radio station KWFT, but they also performed live. After they lost their radio sponsor in late 1956, the group members decided to disband the quartet. They made a brief comeback in the mid-1970s. In 1948, the line-up consisted of tenors Ford Keith and Orvelle "Pat" Garner, baritone Charles Bartlett, bass Russell Richardson, and pianist Henry Slaughter. By 1949, Richardson had been replaced by bass Fred Bennett. In 1951, Keith passed away and was replaced by tenor Glen Payne. Slaughter left the group in 1952, but returned in 1954 both as a pianist and a baritone. He left the group early 1956. Other pianists who played with the group include Gordon Woodley, Livy Freeman, and Cecil Pollock.
