Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

She sold millions of copies of over 40 different books for publishers like Zondervan, Gospel Light and Regal Books. The latter printed and sold more than 4 million copies of her work. She also recorded over 30 audio recordings distributed on records and tapes. Ethel started her storytelling career as a Sunday School teacher in Schenectady, New York in the early 1940s. She was asked to teach the Boys Brigade class, made up of the most unruly boys in the area. She had so much trouble keeping their attention that she began telling Bible stories using character voices and full dialog to capture their attention. That Sunday School class became a great success and her local fame and storytelling talent landed her some weekend radio jobs where she would tell Bible stories on local Christian radio stations.

Love for trance began after listening to records by "Paul Van Dyk" and the project "Nu NRG" Since 2013, he began to actively write music. The project emerged in 2014 with the "Onionwave Sessions" mixtape, quickly establishing itself as the first of its kind in the country. Over time, unitrΔ_Δudio expanded its sound, delving into wave and synthwave music. In 2015, the project gained notoriety for its viral remix of Krzysztof Krawczyk's "Chciałem być," which became a party anthem throughout Poland. unitrΔ_Δudio continued to release remixes and collaborations, showcasing its versatility and creativity. The project's first album, "Way Past Your Bedtime," was released in 2016 to critical acclaim. In 2018, it released "POST-LOVE," which incorporated ambient, breakbeat, and post-dubstep genres. It was later revealed that unitrΔ_Δudio was an alias of Paweł Kasperski, an established Polish electronic music producer also known as "P.A.F.F.". After a three-year hiatus, unitrΔ_Δudio returned in 2021 with a fresh sound and its third album, "The Ghost Coast." The project explores future garage music and experiments with IDM, jungle, and lo-fi house while still incorporating elements of ambient, wave, and breakbeat music. With renewed energy and passion, unitrΔ_Δudio is poised to make a lasting impact in the electronic music scene. |

Search | Add | 35 | Reggie Msomi | Mbaqanga may have paid the bills, but for Reggie Msomi and quite a few other talented 1970s South African musicians, jazz and soul were their first love. A relatively small buying public meant that some strong music was being overlooked by the record companies. With a big reputation in the industry as a consumate musician, talent scout, band-leader, writer, arranger and producer, Msomi managed to record this eclectic and now rare collection of his own soul, jazz and even marabi-tinged compositions – recorded as a Mavuthela Production two weeks before the Soweto uprisings in June 1976. Do yourself a favour – sit down and listen to “Swing Africa”, or better still, stand up and Swing Africa - some jazz, lots of soul, but essentially South African! Reggie Msomi formed and led the Hollywood Jazz Band in 1962. He wrote scores of hits for big stars, including Miriam Makeba. One of his bands' own hits that has endured in current compilations is "Midnight Ska", a great sixties ska number which can be downloaded here. In the early seventies Msomi was also band leader of the Flying Jazz Queens, a popular Mbaqanga group. From the back cover: “Reggie was born at Frankland KwaQwabe the Ngunis, along the South Coast, Port Shepstone, Natal. He grew up like all other African Boys, first herded cattle then went to school. He started his music career at an early age, when he made his own guitar with a gallon tin a wooden handle and three ordinary wire strings. He was only ten years of age when he was playing his hand-made guitar, entertaining beer-drinking older men. In 1953 Reggie left Natal for Johannesburg seeking work in the gold mines as a male nurse in the mine hospital. “He bought himself an electric guitar whilst employed by the mines. After a year’s service he left the mines and worked for the Turf Club as a groom boy. There he played for the people of Magaba Njegabane. “The following year he joined a recording company known as RCA where he met people like Chuks Chukudu, bass player; Stanford Tsiu, guitarist; Christopher Songxaka on tenor saxophone. Later he joined Gallo Africa where he made best-selling records composed by himself, some of them he recorded with famous stars like Miriam Makeba, Manhattan Brothers, Lemmy Special Mabaso; The Sky Larks and the late Spokes Mashiyane. “Most of the songs played by Spokes were composed by Reggie who also played a guitar. They were then under talent scout, the late Sam Alcock. In 1960 Reggie was now playing a saxophone. He then recorded a song titled “Dinner Time Twist” which he composed. In 1962 he was appointed as a talent scount for Gallo Africa. During the same year he formed his own band known as the “Hollywood Jazz Band” which took part in the Batfire Trade Fair in South Africa. In 1965 he toured Rhodesia and Zambia with his band. In 1966 he joined Mr R. Bobpape together with the Mahotella Queens and Makgona Tsohle Band. “Between 1970 and 1974 he was on his own doing his works at his house until he recorded an album entitled “Bump to Bump”. Through thick and thin he is taking us to the heart of Africa with this fantastic album.”

Search | Add | 35 | Melotika | Melany Yelle-Nikischer | Melany Yelle-Nikischer (born September 28, 1997), known by her stage name Melotika, is a Canadian artist, singer-songwriter, performer, sound designer, producer, executive producer and owner of her independent record label Rebel Yelle. Born and raised in the suburbs outside of Montreal, Melany later moved to Toronto to become a professional recording artist and songwriter, despite having little formal musical experience. Melotika is known for pioneering a new genre that she calls New Retro Pop while exploring Dance Pop and Electropop. Melotika is known for having a distinctive lower register (Alto/Mezzo-soprano). She is recognized for her ability to skillfully manipulate her powerhouse voice to fit the unique characteristics of her songs creating her own sound. Melotika defies conventions by forging her own path in the music industry. Unconstrained by trends, she pioneers originality, crafting her own rules rather than adhering to the mainstream. Embracing her rebellious spirit, she distances herself from competitors who rely on sampling and replication, instead focusing on creating authentic pop music. Rooted in Electropop, influenced by the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, her music exudes danceability and innovation. Melotika has garnered significant attention and acclaim for a diverse array of tracks that span genres and themes. Among her most celebrated and popular solo works are "Party Like 2009," "Pressure feat. Krosst Out," "Digital Dreams," "#1," "Tangled Hearts," "Flowers," "Crazy," "Beautiful Disguise," "21," "Dancing Without You," "Joy Ride," "Millionaires (Remix)," and "Unaware Pt. II (Blindside)." These songs have resonated deeply with audiences, showcasing Melotika's versatility and artistry. Additionally, Melotika's collaborative efforts have further expanded her impact on the music scene. Notably, her collaborative tracks "You Wouldn’t Understand" and "Runaway" with Krosst Out have received widespread acclaim and solidified her reputation as a standout collaborator. These collaborations exemplify Melotika's ability to seamlessly blend her distinctive style with fellow artists, resulting in compelling and memorable musical creations. Melotika released her first experimental Electropop album titled Unaware in 2018, showcasing a blend of electronic and pop elements. The album Unaware delves into the complexities of navigating societal pressures and confronting introspective thoughts on the ever-changing world. Through its evocative lyrics and compelling melodies, the album takes listeners on a poignant journey of self-discovery and resilience. Each track within Unaware encapsulates the struggles and triumphs of overcoming societal expectations, shedding light on the challenges individuals face while striving to carve their own paths amidst a rapidly evolving society. The album delves into the internal conflicts and external influences that shape our perceptions and interactions with the world, fostering a deeply introspective and thought-provoking listening experience. With a masterful blend of heartfelt lyricism and soul-stirring compositions, Unaware encourages listeners to contemplate their roles within the intricacies of modern society. It serves as a reminder of the resilience and fortitude required to confront societal pressures while seeking authenticity and purpose in a world that continues to evolve. Following this debut, she ventured into the realms of experimental synth-pop and pop-rock with her singles Joy Ride in 2019 and Bury The Bones in 2020, displaying a willingness to explore and evolve within her musical style. The songs on the album delve into themes of resilience in the face of heartbreak and betrayal. Through powerful lyrics and emotive melodies, the artists convey a sense of empowerment and catharsis, almost like musical revenge. Each track captures the raw emotions of navigating through difficult breakups and overcoming deceit, ultimately serving as a source of strength and solidarity for listeners who may be going through similar experiences. The album's poignant portrayal of these themes offers a sense of healing and vindication, making it a relatable and empowering musical journey for those in need of solace and resilience. In 2021, Melotika achieved a significant milestone in her music career with the release of her EP, "Dancing Without You." This exceptional collection of tracks not only showcased her influences from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s but also marked the inception of her exploration into a new genre, which she coined as New Retro Pop. The EP served as a testament to Melotika's diverse musical inspirations, seamlessly blending elements from different eras to create a refreshing and nostalgic soundscape. Through her innovative approach, Melotika embarked on a musical journey that captured the essence of past decades while infusing it with her own modern flair. With "Dancing Without You," Melotika not only demonstrated her artistry but also hinted at the potential evolution of pop music with her pioneering efforts in the New Retro Pop genre. As the EP resonated with fans and critics alike, it became clear that Melotika had set a new precedent in the music industry, one that promised an exciting path ahead for both her career and the genre she was shaping as an independent artist. As 2021 unfolded, Melotika's release of "Dancing Without You" marked a definitive chapter in her musical legacy, signalling the emergence of a boundary-pushing artist and the birth of an inventive genre. The EP Dancing Without You encapsulates a diverse array of themes, ranging from poignant coming-of-age tales to the tumultuous nature of toxic love and obsessions. Through its evocative melodies and introspective lyrics, the EP navigates dramatic themes, painting a vivid landscape of emotional intensity. Amidst the intensity, there is also a prevailing sense of freedom, adding depth and contrast to the emotional spectrum explored within the music. In 2022, the artist Melotika gifted fans with two distinct singles, each emblematic of her unique musical style. "Digital Dreams" embodies the essence of the genre she pioneered – New Retro Pop. Drawing inspiration from the sounds of the 80s, 90s, and infusing them with a Nu Disco dance vibe, the track seamlessly weaves in quirky references from the early 2000s, paying homage to the music that shaped her formative years. Digital Dreams is a silly, playful song mocking our current obsessions with social media, streaming and going live. On the other hand, "#1" portrays a different facet of Melotika's artistry. This electropop retro pop ballad, peppered with R&B undertones, serves as an anthem to celebrate her musical odyssey. The song not only embraces the theme of love but also commemorates her burgeoning online community and fandom, The Rebelz. True to her signature New Retro Pop sound, Melotika stays dedicated to her musical roots while embracing fresh narratives and emotions. With these releases, Melotika continues to captivate audiences with her fusion of vintage and contemporary musical elements, establishing herself as a trailblazer in the New Retro Pop movement. Melotika, known for her distinctive blend of pop and dance music, recently released two singles that harken back to the recession pop era of 2008-2012. The tracks, "Pressure feat. Krosst Out" and "Party Like 2009," capture the essence of that era while infusing a contemporary twist. "Pressure feat. Krosst Out" delves into the theme of feeling pressured to engage in activities that may not align with one's true desires in pursuit of success. In an age where the quest for online fame and virality can feel all-consuming, the song serves as an empowering anthem, urging listeners to prioritize their authentic goals and persevere in the face of external pressures. Conversely, "Party Like 2009" embodies the spirit of nostalgia, invoking the carefree and vibrant atmosphere of the late 2000s. With its infectious beats and energetic vibe, the track invites audiences to reminisce and celebrate the spirited nature of that bygone era. (An era before cell phones dominated the part scenes). Melotika's shrewd ability to encapsulate the essence of a pivotal time in musical history while infusing her own unique perspective sets these singles apart. Her music continues to resonate with fans, offering a compelling blend of introspection, empowerment, and unbridled energy. As fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming album release Ultra Butterfly, Melotika's new singles are poised to captivate audiences and solidify her status as a trailblazer in the pop and dance music scene. Melotika's commitment to her unique artistry is unwavering. She remains steadfast in cultivating a musical space that is distinctly her own, refusing to conform to conventional genre boundaries. With unyielding determination, she embraces her individuality and remains faithful to her creative vision. It is this resolute dedication that sets Melotika apart, as she fearlessly charts her own path in the pursuit of authentic expression as an independent artist. Melotika humbly acknowledges to her fans on social media that she doesn't perceive herself as the most seasoned or gifted vocalist, but rather as an artist. She openly shares her journey, going live on TikTok to rehearse and overcome her stage fright by performing her original songs and covers. Since 2017, she has graced local stages in Toronto, including The Piston and The Mod Club, captivating audiences with her raw, autotune-free performances alongside DJs or bands. Known for her dynamic stage presence, engaging with fans, and exuberant quirky dancing, Melotika's future holds promise for even larger venue sell-outs as she continues to build momentum. Melotika has carved out her own unique niche, and her fans absolutely adore it. Since 2018, Melotika has independently released a multitude of music videos, each one a vibrant display of her distinctive style, charisma, and personality. These videos serve as her medium for conveying the messages embedded within her songs, weaving narratives, and deepening connections with her fans while also expanding her reach and visibility. Another outlet for Melotika's creativity lies in her hands-on approach to designing and styling her costumes and outfits, as well as directing her own music videos. Immersing oneself in Melotika's creative universe offers a captivating form of escapism. Melotika fearlessly embraces a myriad of eccentric scenarios, from dashing barefoot down the street in a prom dress to solo rooftop parties surrounded by inflatable companions. With multiple alter egos and covered in silver body paint, she struts confidently along train tracks in high heels or seeking revenge on a former flame. Even amid the pandemic, she fearlessly belts out tunes in the midst of a curious crowd with pink blood dripping down from her nose. Melotika has ingeniously crafted her own virtual realm, complete with animated renditions of herself, adding a whimsical and captivating dimension to her persona. Melotika is unapologetically herself in every situation. During the pandemic, Melotika ingeniously engaged her fans from Instagram by inviting them to film themselves dancing to her single "Dancing Without You," culminating in a heartwarming montage composed of these homemade videos. Melotika's latest production, the music video for "Party Like 2009," marked her most ambitious venture yet. Leveraging social media, she enticed strangers, models, and actors with the promise of free pizza and snacks, successfully recruiting volunteers for cameo appearances. Renting out a retro-inspired space adorned with vintage boudoir décor and a diner-esque kitchen aesthetic, she curated an atmosphere reminiscent of an indie sleaze house party—a nod to what she affectionately dubs the golden age of dance-pop: 2009. Diverse individuals from all walks of life came together to participate in this music video, celebrating unity and togetherness. |

Search | Add | 34 | Albert Suissa | Born in interwar Casablanca, Morocco, likely in the early 1930s, Suissa became a known musician in his hometown by mid-century. His base––in almost all senses––was the mellah, the Jewish quarter. Not only did Suissa call that area home, specifically, the Rue Bab Marrakech, one of two contact addresses he provided in a c. 1950s songbook, but he also performed at venues there like Salim Halali’s Le Coq d’Or as the scant photographic evidence makes clear. In addition, his fan base was certainly drawn from the popular Jewish quarter but that he had Muslim admirers as well is without doubt. In fact, as I have discovered in various archives, his music was already broadcast on Radio Maroc in the mid-1950s and at least one of his records even raised the ire of the civil controller for its popularity and potentially subversive message. Albert Suissa, who played ‘ud and sang, was a talented lyricist and composer. While it was not his own composition that would enrage the French just before the end of their protectorate there, his other works certainly raised eyebrows. During the tail-end of the 78 rpm record era, for example, Suissa recorded at least one double-sided disc in honor of Sultan Muhammad V. Later, as he sang of matters topical and in styles popular (chaabi or shaʿbi) on records pressed to vinyl, he would gain the attention of both his devotés and his detractors. In the broadest of brushstrokes, then, we have moved toward one history of Albert Suissa’s early career.

Search | Add | 34 | Daniel Liam Glyn | Daniel Liam Glyn is a British music composer most known for combining his music writing with Synaesthesia. Born in Manchester, UK, he began his music studies and composition at the University of Salford where his admiration for the works of Erik Satie, Steve Reich, John Cage, Michael Andrews and Eric Whitacre grew and later inspired him to embark on a career of contemporary composing. Daniel's work has been heavily influenced by his unique way of visualising numbers, letters and words in his mind with specific colours (Synaesthesia). Daniel's debut album, Changing Stations, is an 11-track classical-contemporary album based on each of the main lines of the London Underground and composed using Grapheme Colour Synaesthesia. It was released digitally and physically worldwide via Daniel's own label Caravan Boy Records shortly after his 30th birthday. In 2017, Every track from Changing Stations was transformed into an eclectic mix of Electronica, Ambient House, Nu Disco, and Drum + Bass by electronic music producer Damion O'Brien under the aliases Designer Thumbs, Afferent, and Cassini Division. The finished product, Changing Stations: Derailed injects a new lease of life into the original classical piano compositions, with the tracklist re-arranged to form a new 'journey' on the London Underground. Daniel's sophomore album Nocturnes, a collection of electronic, ambient soundscapes influenced by his dreams and inspired by the enigmatic thrill of night-time, was composed entirely during the Covid-19 lockdown and released in September 2020.

Search | Add | 34 | M360 | Matteo Vicentini | An artist, designer and creative talent who loves music. Krauth, prog, jazz, dub, reggae, disco, afro, rock, blues, all immersed in mescaline. Attracted by the unusual but pleasing. He travels the world looking for inspiration but without forgetting his roots. He has a weakness for the pleasures of life and, why not, a few bad habits. He searches the music world in all directions, every set in his own style, listening to and playing simply what touches him, leading you into a parallel universe, difficult to listen to on your own. He's played in America, Italy, Japan, France, Switzerland, Germany, in the most b-side basements where music is not only for ears. Art Director to several projects in the underground scene, like Garage Paradise from 2006 to 2009 (with djs of the calibre of Sadar Bahar), and Space is the Place from 2010 to 2013. |
