Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Boulo Valcourt | Died Friday, November 17, 2017 "Boulo Valcourt (b. 1946, Cap-Haïtien, Haiti) has been a central pillar of the jazz landscape in Haiti and its diaspora for more than fifty years. The vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and arranger has been a founding member of such noted ensembles as Ibo Combo, Caribbean Sextet, Pikliz, Djanm, and Haïtiando. He has regularly collaborated with past and present musical greats such as Azor (Lénord Fortuné), Réginald Policard, Jean Jean and Philippe “Toto” Laraque, Lionel Benjamin, Mushi and Joël Widmaïer, and Ralph Thamar. His ensembles have shared the stage with Danny Glover and Wynton Marsalis, and he has been a featured artist at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, DC. He has mentored many of the most popular Haitian vocalists of the past two generations, including Emeline Michel, Beethova Obas, Tifane (Tifany Sejour), and Alan Cavé, each of whom have catapulted on to international careers. He has written dozens of hits for these and other performers, frequently using texts by acclaimed poet Syto Cavé, including “Fè van pou mwen” and “Jounen” for Emeline Michel and “Limit Solèy” for Tamara Suffren. Valcourt’s “Tante Nini,” written in collaboration with Cavé, generated overwhelming excitement when Caribbean Sextet first released the recordings in the 1980s. These tunes remain a prominent and beloved part of the Haitian soundtrack." https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/boulovalcourt

Search | Add | 5 | Memory Keepers | In Memory Keepers, duo Jared and Amarah Boulanger dive deep into their musical tendencies. Guitar hooks cut through distorted samples and vocals, coasting on driving beats and bass synth lines. A series of upcoming 7-inch single releases and gigging around their homebase keeps them busy.

L'any 1963: "El cavaller Godia", "Maria Roser", "El modernitzat", "Un cel més blau". L'any 1964: "Una núvia estrangera", "A Emili Vendrell", "El paraigües", "Les veles".

Search | Add | 5 | Lew Anderson | Lewis Burr Anderson | Lew Anderson (May 7, 1922 – May 14, 2006) was an American actor and musician, most famous for being the third and final actor to portray Clarabell the Clown on Howdy Doody between 1954 and 1960. He was also a musician. He famously spoke Clarabell's one and only line on the program on the show's final episode in 1960, with a tear visible in his eye, "Goodbye, kids." Anderson was born in Kirkman, Iowa, the son of a railroad telegrapher. He began playing his sister's clarinet when she tired of it, and by high school had formed his own dance band. After a year in junior college in Fort Dodge, Iowa, he received a music scholarship to Drake University in Des Moines. He attended for two years, but then quit school to begin his professional musical life by accepting a job with the Lee Barron sleeper bus band. During World War II, Anderson served in the United States Navy where he started his first band. After serving in the Navy in World War II, he joined the Carlos Molinas Latin Orchestra, where he also wrote the American dance arrangements. In the late 1940s, he joined The Honey Dreamers, a singing group that appeared on radio and early television shows like The Ed Sullivan Show. While working with the group, he met "Buffalo" Bob Smith who offered him the role on the Howdy Doody show. Anderson again played Clarabell on the short-lived "New Howdy Doody Show" in 1976-1977 and in the 1987 40th anniversary special and made personal appearances as Clarabell with Buffalo Bob for many years thereafter. After his six year stint as Clarabell, he returned to music, and in his later years, played and led the 16-piece Lew Anderson Big Band Friday nights in New York's jazzclub, Birdland. Anderson died in Hawthorne, New York from complications of prostate cancer. |

Search | Add | 5 | The Combustibles | The five members of The Combustibles who recorded Watch Her and Some Peace of Mind were its regulars during the band’s final act from 1969-72. But each entered the band from vastly different directions. Brothers George (on bass) and Lionel Taylor (on lead), the founder members, were children of British parents who decided to stay on in India after the country’s independence in 1947. George and Lionel recall playing their first guitars and singing together at St. Joseph’s boarding school in Bangalore as young teenagers, inspired by the early harmonies of The Beatles. Returning to Bombay in 1965, they started playing publicly in informal settings till the first edition of The Combustibles formed in 1967. The Taylor parents and their sister Ellen, were the band’s initial mentors and remained their biggest supporters and fans. Everett Perry first discovered his lyrical skills at the young age of thirteen, while in high school at St. Michael’s in the Bandra suburb of Bombay when a number of his friends approached him to pen love poems for their girlfriends – a skill they apparently did not possess! One of his earliest successes, on the local radio called The Cadbury Show resulted in a prize of a dozen Cadbury bars. The poet in Everett ended up becoming The Combustibles song-writer and composer. The oldest in the band by about five years, he was the only one who had theoretical training in music and studied the piano till the intermediate stage. Everett took over the lead vocal slot and became one of the most recognized front-men in the Bombay rock scene – ably supported by George who managed most of the harmony vocals. Bobby Furtado, the baby of the band and brother-in-law of manager Godfrey Uttanwalla, was an important link in The Combustibles chain. For a drummer, Bobby was quiet to a fault and self-effacing till he got on stage! Drumming since the age of sixteen, he had only played with a few local amateur bands till the opportunity to join the band occurred following the illness of regular drummer Croyden Maben late in 1969. Bobby seized the opportunity with both hands (and a strong leg on the bass drum) and provided the basic beat to the music of The Combustibles till the band disbanded in the summer of 1972. While George and Lionel were beginning to practice the harmonies of The Beatles in Bangalore, Everett was honing his song-writing skills and Bobby had still to start playing the drums, Nissim was 8500 miles away in Washington D.C., with his family where his father had just begun employment with the IMF. The family arrived just a month before the horror of President Kennedy’s assassination but three months later, with all of America, watched The Beatles launch a rock revolution as they opened their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on 9th February 1964, four days after Nissim’s fourteenth birthday, with All My Loving. Like every teenage boy at the time it seemed, Nissim was hooked and soon had his first cheap acoustic guitar. But nothing went very far until fate intervened and a classmate in high school named Pat Loper invited Nissim to his home where every member of the family (including the Mom) would sit around after dinner playing the guitar and strumming classic country songs. Buck Owens and the Buckaroos was what they played most! There was no rock played in the Loper household – though Act Naturally was soon to be an important bridge between Buck Owens and Ringo and The Beatles! Five years later as the family got ready to return to India, a friendly salesman at Veneman Music in the Arlington suburb of Washington D.C. suggested to Nissim’s father that his son would do well to take along a Fender Stratocaster and this new fuzz-wah pedal of a type that a guitarist named Jimi Hendrix had already made very famous. Nissim’s passport to The Combustibles had just been delivered!

TPMP is an electronic music arranger, mixer, mastering engineer and Eurorack modular designer. He is living in Chengdu a new upcoming Techno city in China. He was early on into electronic music and his production style is greatly influenced by BT, The Future Sound of London and Enigma. Later on, his style gradually turned to TECHNO (style wise he was influenced by Echospace, Basic channel, and Maurizio obviously). He implemented these various styles into TECHNO to form his own experimental style. Integrating EPIC, Ambient, Glitch into the core of TECHNO has always been his main focus. After trying a lot of modular music production methods, in order to achieve its own unique TECHNO experimental style, he began in 2016 to independently develop its own eurorack modular, accumulated a lot of understanding of the relationship between live set and modular world. On the spot, TPMP has always insisted on controlling through the Modular live set, using Modular's greatest possibility to build a unique and unpredictable on-site perception, making the live experience full of possibilities. Search | Add | 5 | Asmodeous | Asmodeous is an old school Death Metal band from Chicago, Illinois. The band was originally conceived under the name Cessation in 1993 and settled upon the name Asmodeous in 1994. All having an interest in extreme, fast, heavy music, founding members Kevin Schenk, Manny Canchola, Steve McDowell, and Joe Fraser met while attending the same high school. The spelling of the name Asmodeous is a slight variation from the original spelling Asmodeus, a leader of demons from the Book of Tobit. Kevin insisted on changing the spelling of the name to distinguish the band from past literature and other groups already named Asmodeus. Tyrant of the Land features guest guitarist Jon Heaton, playing second guitar and some solo work on the EP. In 2001, the Chicagoland Death Metal scene suffered a very tragic loss by the passing of vocalist Kevin Schenk, who was also playing Bass Guitar for band In Pieces. In Pieces later changed their name to Dead For Days. Manny Canchola assumed Kevin's position on Bass Guitar in Dead For Days after Kevin's passing, to carry on Kevin's work and legacy. Search | Add | 5 | ZimNovich | Ilya Zimnovich & Milla Zimnovich | ZimNovich are a record production duo, composed of siblings Ilya Zimnovich and Milla Zimnovich. They started their first music experiments in the late 1990s with IBM PC and music trackers, following psychedelic trance tunes of X-Dream and Astral Projection, and then rave and breakbeat tunes of the Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers. About 7 singles were locally released during their first collaboration, the Miracle. One of the singles, entitled "Stella", was licensed to Paragon Software Group for their Palm PDA computer game. The other single "Thunder" was an experiment of electronica dark wave and alternative rock. The song was very famous locally in their hometown and was performed live at local festivals. Then, following success of Incognito, De-Phazz, LTJ Bukem, and Miguel Migs they switched to making lounge and acid jazz music. The Ez Presso band was born. They performed their 8 singles at Sensomusic 2006 lounge music festival. In 2014 they returned back to an electronic roots. Now they have finally found their very own distinctive sound with ZimNovich. Their current genre is a mixture of New Beat, Techno, Electroclash and Neo EBM. They also work in different styles like Synth-pop, Alternative Rock, Trap, Hip-Hop, Industrial, Dark Wave, IDM, EDM and Dubstep. |

Search | Add | 5 | Ritmos Tropicosmos | Ritmos Tropicosmos is a seven-piece psychedelic cumbia group, from Oakland, California. They began as a studio project by founding members Jake Rodriguez (órgano) and Bobby Ganush (bass) in October, 2018. Soon after, they enlisted percussionists Jules Anastasia (congas) and Güira Güero (timbales, guacharaca) with Da'vid Garcia on vocals to record the Halloween themed "Tumba de la Momia". In 2019, they augmented the band by adding a full line up, consisting of Eli Reyes on vocals and synthesizers, Lesli Rodriguez on güira and vocals, Danny Ceseña on guitar and part-time member Ivan Flores on caja. Later that year, they released their debut 45 on Discos Más, consisting of two songs: "Tumba de la Momia" and "Beso de Muerte". Ritmos Tropicosmos continues with a heavy emphasis on tropical waveforms and psychedelic sounds. Their inspiration is the sum of their seven minds - meeting at the intersection of multiple timelines. A crossroads of electricity and molten earth, somewhere within the traditional rhythms of the past and the futuristic textures of The Now.

Search | Add | 5 | Overthought | Overthought is an electro/acoustic Rock duo from Pavullo nel Frignano, near Modena. Born in October 2016 the band is formed by Michele Magnani (voice, guitar) and Przemek Werbik (bass). Their musical references range from Ben Howard, to Stu Larsen and Passenger (among the others), but these young musicians’ background goes back to the 90s, to the Seattle grunge scene. This reflects directly on their instrumental and compositional approach. The straightforward songwriting and guitar playing -which lets the bass free to explore- give birth to an easy-listening, yet detailed sound. In 2020 they publish their self-titled album, recorded at All Right Riserva studio, produced by Achille Caifa for Yoloco Music inc. and published by All Right Riserva Recordz.

In the early 40s took over the band of Hal Byrnes, and although they never recorded commercially, they did make quite a few transcriptions. They perform a mixture of western songs, western swing, sentimental songs and gospel, most of it sung in excellent three part harmony by Pennington, guitarist Sonny Haley, and bassist Lonnie Love. The group is rounded out by steel guitarist Johnny Sorrels. Tight harmony singing and virtuoso musicianship (mainly fiddle, guitar, steel) from this Memphis-based group, mix of country, western, folk, all from transcription discs cut for Lang-Worth in the 1940s. Also called Jack Pennington and The Garrett's Snuff Variety Gang.

Search | Add | 5 | Charlie Dick | Charlie Dick, the widower of country legend [a227842]. Throughout his life, Dick worked to preserve the legacy of Cline — who died in a plane crash on March 5th, 1963, at age 30 — as one of the most influential singers in country music. In 1980, the Loretta Lynn biopic Coal Miner's Daughter renewed interest in the "Crazy" singer and her catalog. Five years later, Jessica Lange portrayed the singer in Sweet Dreams, with actor Ed Harris playing Charlie Dick. The real Charlie critized the film for some of its glaring discrepancies. He would continue to be an active participant and advisor in Cline documentaries and other projects throughout his life. While Cline was alive, Dick worked at a printing shop in Nashville and also served as his wife's road manager. Charlie Dick, a man who was very much responsible for helping to keep to artistic legacy of his late wife intact over the years, died in his sleep Sunday morning (Nov. 8, 2015). He was 81.

----- Ver: http://rockchapin.org/index.php/45-grupos/la-tona/697-la-tona
