Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Dorotabou | どろたぼう (Dorotabou) | Aburadako and The Stalin inspired Japanese punk band from Kobe, consisted of [a=Laukaus] and [a=Kruw] members. Active from 2004 to 2006. Dorotabou was formed while Laukaus was still active. The band members operated their own label [l=生存不能 レコード] (Seizon Funo Records). "Dorotabou "Kyomu no kukan" MCDR - The first track starts you off on a march reminiscent of the hard punk of The Stalin and the second track doesn't relent, but turns the march to high gear with the only break the chants of "ASA! HIRU! BAN!!" with a high-pitched scream reminiscent of Yokai from Laukaus/Kruw on their recent recordings. By "Niku" (not a Stalin cover) the listener gets a chance to slow down and shuffle their feet a bit into the fourth track, a downward spiral into madness, only broken by shouted-out gang vocals. Picture a Japanese Igyy Pop with his throng of devoted fans pumping their fists and working themselves into a frenzy by the end of the song - that's how this one goes. After five tracks of solid hard punk, you're treated to an Aburadako cover ("Erusaremu no kutsujyoku") that's done quite well. This one is recommended for fans of Aburadako, The Stalin, SS, and other classic Japanese bands before Gism took over and turned punk on its ear." (by Terminal Boredom) |

Search | Add | 4 | Western Continentals | The Western Continentals is the Barbershop Harmony Society's 1968 International Quartet Champion. First organized in 1964 in Phoenix, Arizona with Curt Kimball on tenor, Ted Bradshaw on lead, Paul Graham on baritone, and Terry Diedrich on bass. That fall, they won the 1964 Far Western District Championship. They qualified for international the next spring and finished 8th in Boston, MA. In 1966, Curt Kimball was drafted and was replaced by Al Mau as tenor. The quartet qualified for the 1966 international contest to be held in Chicago, Illinois. They sadly dropped down to 21st. Following that contest, Terry Diedrich was forced to leave the quartet due to personal reasons and was replaced by Phil Foote as bass. In 1967, the quartet went to Los Angeles and jumped from 21st all the way to 2nd place silver medalists. In 1968 in Cincinnati, Ohio, they won it all. They won that contest singing songs such as “Are You From Dixie” and “Heart Of A Clown”. The quartet traveled all across the county following their championship singing for chapters and shows everywhere. In 1971, Al Mau moved to California and was replaced by Frank Friedemann as tenor. The quartet retired following the 1973 international convention in Portland, Oregon. The quartet came out of retirement several times throughout the decade before calling it quits for good in 1979. During their time together, they recorded three albums: “Gonna Build A Mountain”, “Barbershop With A Continental Flavor”, and “The Continental Sound”. They all included their popular show tunes and a few of their contest songs. Their third album included a few piano and guitar tracks provided by Frank Friedemann. Al Mau went on to earn two silver medals with the Pacificaires in 1973 and 74. Ted Bradshaw was an international finalist in the 1970’s with the Command Performance. The championship version of the Western Continentals, Mau-Bradshaw-Graham-Foote, reunited in 1988 for the society’s 50th anniversary in San Antonio, Texas and the original district championship version, Kimball-Bradshaw-Graham-Diedrich, reunited in 2014 to celebrate their 50th anniversary as Far Western District Champions. The Western Continentals’ final curtain call was in July of 2018 in Orlando, FL when surviving members, Al Mau, Ted Bradshaw, and Paul Graham were honored for the 50th anniversary of their international championship. Today only Al Mau and Frank Friedemann survive. Phil Foote died in 2017, Paul Graham in 2018, Ted Bradshaw in 2019, and both Curt Kimball and Terry Diedrich in 2022.

Search | Add | 4 | Swansong for a Raven | Swansong for a Raven (SfaR) started during summer 2007, created by Julien on bass and Estelle on vocals. They wanted SfaR to have a very strong visual identity. In december 2008, the promo video for the song Baby Goth Metal was shot. It was a reference to all the styles which used to influence the band back then. The first autoproduced EP « Secret » has been released in february 2009 and was featuring this video. After that, SfaR started to forge its name on the local scene, and played with the Japanese band Anli Pollicino at the Grillen in Colmar, and also at the 2010 Artefacts festival which took place at La Laiterie in Strasbourg. On the 1st of July 2011, the band released their first album « Love, Darkness and Decadence » which will definitely pose the bases of their style. After numerous concerts and the release of the One more on the Road PV and single, most of the members of Swansong for a Raven decided to leave the band in July 2012. Julien and Estelle decided to take advantage of this change to give the band a new musical direction. The band has been on hiatus for almost a year before coming back in a new form. In summer 2013, seven years after the beginning of the band even tough it’s the same name Julien and Estelle come back with a whole new style. The new music is composed only of strong distorted bass guitar, drums and vocals for a whole new sound. After making 3 new videoclips (Youtube Channel here), the band went to Japan for 2 concerts, and after that, in december 2013, they joined the Japanese band Eat You Alive as opening band for their European Tour.

Peter "Pete" Nathen Smolen, age 76, died Aug. 2, 2023, after a 13-year stay of cancer that he never let define him. Pete was born in 1947 in New York City and spent his youth in White Plains, N.Y., and then in Ahoskie, N.C. He graduated from Duke University in 1969 with a degree in history, after an about-turn from pre-med, and then promptly didn't use either degree in his start at Record Bar, a music store chain based in Durham where he soon became a buyer. Looking for a city to start his own music store business, Pete moved his family to Columbia, S.C., where he resided for the remainder of his years. His first Sounds Familiar location opened in 1976 in Landmark Square in Columbia, SC. Over the years, Sounds Familiar grew to three locations in Columbia SC with stores in Myrtle Beach SC, Charlotte NC and Asheville NC at times. He was also part-owner of Paradise Records in Fayetteville, N.C., Greenstreets music club in Columbia and Carolina beach music label Ripete Records, which he ran with partner-in-crime and good friend Marion (Rion) Carter. He loved a nightly Dewar's on the rocks, Duke basketball, floating on the Black River with friends, old movies (even if the movie didn't age well) and music, especially rock 'n' roll and R&B – John Prine, Otis Redding, The Who. But he also loved the Bee Gees, Master P and Lil' Kim for all the money they made for Sounds Familiar. Although beach music was very good to him, he never did learn how to dance the shag. Search | Add | 4 | Robin Greenstein | Robin is a singer-songwriter from NYC whose music is a mix of folk, pop, rock, blues, country and jazz. She calls her music "Acousticness." Imagine a female James Taylor; strong finger-picking, rootsy songs with sophisticated pop influences. Stong soulful singing and memorable original songs make a lasting impact on her audiences. Her songs have been recorded on Fast Folk and Atlantic Records. She was picked for a finalist spot at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival Songwriting competition (1989) in Texas on her very first application. Robin was also signed to Bob Dylan's publishing company as a writer for two years. She has performed in over 44 states and several countries including The Dominican Republic, The Bahamas, China, Japan, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Holland and Denmark. She is a Club Med performing artist. Robin performed extensively for college audiences across the U.S.for two decades in addition to playing at various folk venues. Her first album "SLOW BURN" was released initially as an independent in 1989. It was subsequently picked up for release in Europe by Swiss label BRAMBUS Records in 1992 and received rave reviews. Robin did her first European tour in 1994 and has part of every summer for the rest of that decade touring Europe, especially Denmark. In 1997 Band Together Records re-released SLOW BURN on CD in the USA. Robin's second CD "Acousticness" was released in 2000. Her third CD "Images of Women", released in 2002, was the first in a series of volumes which explore traditional folk and blues songs about women. Vol. 2 was released in 2010 and made the Grammys first ballot for traditional Folk Album of the Year. At the end of 2010, Robin released "Songs of the Season", a CD featuring music from an annual show she performed with Long Island musician Cecilia Kirtland. Robin has won music competitions at the Riverbank/Walden Radio Folk Festival and the NJ Folk Festival, South Florida Folk Festival and others. She's showcased at both the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival the NJ Folk Festival, The Napa Folk Festival and many Folk Alliance Conferences. But her favorite gig all time was singing the national anthem at Madison Square Garden in NYC for her beloved New York Knicks! Robin plays both guitar and banjo. Her superb musicianship, powerful songs, strong singing and relaxed performing style win over audiences everywhere. She majored in Music at SUNY-Stony Brook with a concentration in Classical Guitar). Describing her music as "Acousticness", Robin mixes many styles of music - folk, pop, rock, jazz and blues- in an acoustic base. In a show, you might hear a jazz standard, a blues song, or a instrumental banjo dance tune scattered among her original compositions. Her music has the musical sophistication of James Taylor with the lyrical sensitivity of Joni Mitchell, and strong vocals like Linda Ronstadt or blues-influenced like Bonnie Raitt. Robin does a concert-lecture entitled "Images of Women," a look at women's lives thru traditional Anglo and Afro-American folk songs, as well as family and children's programs (see "Other Shows"). She is eligible for Meet The Composer grants as well as BOCES. She was a performer-clinician for Martin Guitars and teaches privately in the New York City area when she's not on the road (lessons in guitar, banjo, uke and voice).

Mary Gauthier, King’s longtime collaborator, began the wave of praise when she noted, “IDAHO, David Robert King’s new record, is a stunning soundscape of whispered confessions and poignant observations. A beautiful collection of haunting songs, it deserves a good listen.” Grammy-winning singing titans The Blind Boys of Alabama also approve, as they came on board to augment King’s brooding vocals with their harmonies on the title track “Idaho.” King recently performed at the 30A Songwriters Festival, alongside Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Mary Gauthier, Patti Griffin and many more. King has also shared stages with Josh Ritter, The Mark O'Connor Band, Tim O'Brien, Loudon Wainwright III, Darrell Scott, and Over The Rhine. He has collaborated with Emily Saliers of The Indigo Girls, Jonatha Brooke and others. This combination led to a top 40 song on folk and roots radio, wide critical acclaim, and a featured spot at AMERICANAFEST 2017. King was also named a finalist in the 2017 NewSong Music Competition, performing last month at Lincoln Center in New York.

Conoscevo solo lui come cantante hip hop.

Search | Add | 4 | Valentin Rocher | Fascinated by the hypnotic power and physicality of the sound they produce, Valentin Rocher plays electronic music on modular synths. Parallel to the live project Silicon Vallée with Fausto, he explores his instrument in search of the accident, playing with the digressions it allows. He distorts the sound by hand with sensitivity. Surprises and the unexpected are the driving force behind his playing and compositions. He takes us with generosity in his soundscapes where we walk with curiosity.
