Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 8 | Wasafiri | The jazz fusion group Wasafiri began with the memory of a feeling. Eastwood Music Group co-founders Luke Sardello and Skin Wade wanted to release a project that evoked the feelings they had when they first discovered the 70’s era fusion works of Herbie Hancock and Weather Report and Return to Forever. Upon linking with fellow Dallas native Max Gerl (bassist/composer), an alum of Berklee College of Music and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts, they knew they’d found someone to bring their concept to life. A well-studied musician/producer and mentee of jazz fusion bassist Stanley Clarke, Gerl understood the particular feeling Wade and Sardello sought to recreate. | |
| Search | Add | 8 | Erich M. Von Hornbostel | Erich Moritz von Hornbostel | Erich M. von Hornbostel (February 25, 1877, Vienna, Austria — November 28, 1935, Cambridge, UK) was an Austrian ethnomusicologist and sound recording pioneer. Hornbostel studied the piano, harmony and counterpoint as a child; later physics and philosophy in Vienna and Heidelberg, but his PhD at the University of Vienna was in chemistry. He moved to Berlin, where he fell under the influence of [a=Carl Stumpf] and worked with him on musical psychology and psychoacoustics. He was Stumpf's assistant at Berliner Psychologischen Institut (Berlin Psychological Institute), and when the Institute's archives became the basis for the Berliner Phonogramm-Archiv, Hornbostel became its first director in 1905. Hornbostel did notable work in the field of ethnomusicology, then usually referred to as "comparative musicology." He was a highly regarded teacher, with some of his students including American composer [a=Henry Cowell] and Polish-Canadian ethnomusicologist [a3680918]. Hornbostel specialized in African and Asian music, making many recordings and developing a system that facilitated the transcription of non-Western music from recordings to paper. He saw the musical tunings used by various cultural groups as an essential element in determining the character of their music and did a lot of work in comparing different tunings. Among other notable Hornbostel's contributions was the "Sachs–Hornbostel system" of musical instrument classification which he co-authored with [a=Curt Sachs], first published in 1914. |

Appearance history: Formally, the Choral School was founded in 1944 (at first it was called the Music and Choral School, since 1945 - the Choir School, since 1954 - named after M. I. Glinka). However, since it was originally part of the State Academic Singing Choir of St. Petersburg, it has long roots. The choir comes from the Choir of Sovereign Singers, founded in the 15th century in Moscow and transferred in 1703 to St. Petersburg (the choir received the name "Capella" at the end of the 18th century). At some point in the composition of the choir, originally male, there were juvenile singers - boys. Since 1955 the School and its boys' choir have been an independent organization. | Search | Add | 8 | Sublimatus | Ontario, Canada based experimental rock trio which was formed in the late 80s. Sublimatus has been a transformational concept used by Zena Hagerty and Walter G. Peter as a creative principle for over 20 years. On its own, as a concept in the collective unconscious Sublimatus crosses the bounds of the physical, psychological and spiritual worlds. In the physical world, the term from chemistry to sublimate: “is to change a solid to a gas and back to a solid.” When used in psychology it denotes the act of using base instincts and energy in a productive/inspirational manner. For example a young bully takes up playing the guitar. Two of the most obvious usages of Sublimatus in the English language are the words subliminal and sublime. To sublimate is used in Alchemy, “an ancient form of mysticism”, as part of a process, which is intended to cause “individuation.” The process works on the premise that the individual is incomplete, but can become complete through a series of conscious mystical acts. With this in mind Zena, Walter have used Sublimatus as a watch word behind a multi-media arts center, a free form sound unit, posters and billboards, multi-media art installations, a sponsor of a bicycle team, a countless number of HAPPENINGS in the tradition of “Dada and being in the moment”. Sublimatus has run on the intent to cause the audience and artist to question ones motives/actions.

| Search | Add | 8 | rachid babaci | Rachid Babaci | Kabyle singer born on January 15, 1958 in Boghni (Tizi-Ouzou, Algeria). He started playing the guitar and singing at the age of 10, with an improvised instrument using a can and a wooden handle. Then, he hosted wedding parties, baptisms... It was at the age of 17 that he composed his first song entitled "rouhene oussane ilhane". In 1978, Rachid left for the army in Sidi bel Abbès, a national service during which he worked as a nurse. During the year 1980, he decided to record his first album in Algiers "Rouhen ouissen ilhane" before leaving for France where he found an international Divox publisher who would take care of everything, to release the album on vinyl and cassette tape. It was played quite often on channel 2 in Algeria and on radio waves in France. Galvanized by the good work done and the favorable response aroused by this album, Babaci decided in 1982 to produce a second album (a tribute to mothers) on Oasis Disc. In 1985, the artist did it again with a third album under the name "Tamurt-iw" on Editions Berberes and in 1987, he made his 4th album "Seg Mettawen-iw". His fifth album was released in 1989 "Afrux Idurarchez". In addition, in 1991, with his sister [a=Jedjiga], they made a video clip in Kabylia, under the direction of Ahcene Osmani and Djamel Bendeddouche and produced by Mustapha Aouchiche. The remarkable work was a resounding success inspiring even many other singers. In parallel, the singer Rachid Babaci put in 1994 on the market, his sixth album entitled "Athina Hajven Leswar" and continued with the shooting of the 2nd video tape in 1994 in Algeria. Since that date, Rachid Babaci has moved away from production, currently living in the north of France while keeping an eye on music and his native Kabylia. |

| Search | Add | 8 | Art P | Art P (short for the project name Art Programming) is a group consisting of the electronic musicians [a=Jens-Markus Wegener] and [a=Frank Grotelüschen]. The two artists (both originally from Bremen, Germany), initially met in early 1982 due to a small add in a local newspaper when Grotelüschen was selling his Roland 101 synthesizer. Wegener became the new owner of the machine, the two kept in touch and soon became friends. After Grotelüschen was borrowing his TR 808 drum machine as well as his Jupiter 4 synth to Wegener for six weeks when he was on holiday they decided to work together. During those weeks Wegener composed about 6 to 7 tunes that convinced his newly found partner and Art Programming was born. From then on they combined forces and released music on various projects. On their first album, the self titled “Art Programming” (1983), they used instruments like the Korg Mono/Poly which they mainly used for their bass sounds, a Roland TB-303 as well as a Fricke Sequencer. Their first album still featured guest musicians Norbert Pautner and vocalist Claudia Roebke, who they also performed live with. Later, newer synths like the Yamaha DX-9 came into play. Their second album, now under the shortened name Art P, was produced more professionally. This time, the featured vocals were recorded at Dub City Studio in Bremen. Both albums were released on Wegener’s [l=P.A.P.] (Programming Art Productions) label on cassette only. It was until 1989 when Art P made an appearance on vinyl and CD with the track “Terminal Zeit” on the compilation U.S.S. Dancefloor. This electro tune with dark industrial and EBM leanings was the last track by the band. It was co-produced by Michael Vitzthum and had a more international and professional appeal. Wegener, who once was called “grand father of Bremen’s electronic scene” (see tape compilation “Berlincassette 2-85”), later became a key figure in the German music market as a founder of companies such as [l=Public Propaganda], Europe’s largest and most successful promotion agency in the mid ‘90s, the publishing company [l=AMV], the distributor [l=PP Sales Forces], among others. As a freelance promoter for [l=SPV] and the [l=PIAS] label he was also responsible for establishing the term Electronic Body Music as a musical genre. Grotelüschen was active as a music journalist (e.g. for Spex magazine) and later became an important and well known journalist for science. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Dave Zupkovich | Dave Zupkovich | Popular American tamburitza player and band leader (b. January 5, 1920 Campbell, Ohio, USA - d. August 6, 1963) Dave studied violin at the early age of seven and soon after learned to play the banjo, guitar, and his trademark, the bugarija. At age 17 he joined the popular Yugoslav Serenaders of Cleveland, Ohio and did radio work with them on station WTAM in Cleveland. Always the organizer, Dave went to Detroit and formed a group which toured the eastern part of this country. Along came World War II, and Dave gave up his musical career to serve 39 months with the 13th and 82nd Airborne Divisions in the European theater of operations. His love for music compelled him to continue his music after the war, and he became a widely-known recording artist with Balkan Records, Continental, and RCA Victor. The big hits for Dave were Leti Leti, Charm of Your Beautiful Dark Eyes, Whistler's Polka, and many others. After a successful six-month nationwide tour and many other tours in the Midwest, Dave became recognized as the 'King of Tamburitza'. With the increased popularity of television, he got on the bandwagon and shortly became a known TV personality on many international programs. Fans from all over the country enjoyed seeing and hearing the singing and playing of the memorable Dave Zupkovich. During his musical years, Dave was fortunate to have the support of the best musicians and friends one could have, including Steve Pavlekovich, Tony and Steve Burich, Mirko Kolesar, Martin Kapugi, Johnny Krilcich, Tony and Lou Markulin, Joe Matasic, George Skrbina, Pete Radakovich, Joe Marmilich, and Julius Peskan. A tribute to a great artist whose name and music will live on and on, in a legendary sense. |

Dressed in Blåshjuden's traditional dolma with gold bridle and red velvet (the color of medicine), we play a wide repertoire where the basis is marching music. Every other year, Blåshjuden travels on campaigns to spread the gospel of marching music around the world. The destination for each trip is Japan, but so far we have not managed to get all the way there. USA, Soviet Union, Germany, Great Britain and Poland here to the countries where Blåshjuden played. Today, Blåshjuden has about 30 active members, both students and fully trained doctors. We rehearse once a week during term time and perform 10-20 times a year.
