Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 8 | Ki Mantle Hood | Ki Mantle Hood (24 June 1918, Springfield, IL, USA - 31 July 2005, Ellicott City, MD, USA) was an American ethnomusicologist and composer. After studying composition privately with Ernst Toch (1945–50), Hood completed the AB in music (1951) and the MA in composition (1952) at UCLA. He took the doctorate on a Fulbright fellowship at the University of Amsterdam with [a=Jaap Kunst] with a dissertation on the Javanese modal system (1954). During the same year he became an instructor at UCLA, where he initiated the first formal programme in ethnomusicology. Following fieldwork in Indonesia on a Ford Fellowship (1956–8), Hood returned to UCLA and was appointed assistant professor (1956), associate professor (1959) and full professor (1962); he also founded the Institute of Ethnomusicology in 1961. Hood was the first scholar to offer training in the performance of non-Western music (in Javanese and Balinese gamelan). His emphasis on performance participation or ‘bi-musicality" as an essential aspect of research is a major contribution to the field | |

His latest release: "Themes For A Dying Mall" showcases a theme of nostalgia, with the theme of a local mall falling victim to time. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Deep Memories | DEEP MEMORIES is an One Man Band from Americana - São Paulo - BRAZIL founded by multi instrumentalist and producer Douglas Martins in 2016. After leaving the Brazilian Death/Black Metal band DESDOMINUS in 2005 Douglas Martins remained composing material. The result came to be Deep Memories. In musical terms, the compositions demonstrate cadence, heaviness and different nuances, mixing melody and aggressiveness with beautiful guitars duets, an atmosphere that refers to great icons of Death, Doom, Gothic and Progressive Metal with vocals varying from speeches, singing, choirs and the most pungent screamed and guttural. The lyrical thematic revolves around the very name “DEEP MEMORIES”. Douglas Martins talked about it: “When we read these words, we are immediately referred to memories of very significant moments of our existence as illnesses and death, disappointments, obsessions, moments of panic and depression and if we speak in psyche, we have totally inaccessible records in our memories that store lapses few explored by the human race". This is the lyrical theme of DEEP MEMORIES: Expose what these memories produced, produce and still influence in the direction of the intellectual, social and spiritual character of the human race. The debut album was recorded, produced and masterized by Douglas Martins during some sessions between 2016 and 2018 at AJM Studio in Americana - São Paulo. On June 21th, 2018 was released in all social medias the first Music Video from the song “The Bitter Taste of Illusion”. The receptiveness was great among the worldwide headbangers and specialized media. On July 3rd, 2018 was released by labels Heavy Metal Rock and Misanthropic Records an promotional EP containing 2 songs taken from upcoming full-length album. “When the Time For My Last Breath Comes” and “The Bitter Taste of Illusion” were selected for this release. This EP is called “IN TOO DEEP…”. On September 17th, 2018 a Lyric Video for “When the Time For My Last Breath Comes” was released. This video was produced by Razia Vídeos. The full-length album “REBUILDING THE FUTURE” was released simultaneously in Brazil, Japan and Russia in September 21th, 2018 by: Heavy Metal Rock and Misanthropic Records (Brazil), Invasion of Solitude Records (Japan) and GS Productions (Russia). This album is also available on all digital plataforms (SPOTIFY, DEEZER, iTUNES...). Douglas Martins also developed the front artwork from Brazilian and Russian editions. The Japanese edition has an exclusive front artwork developed by CadiesArt (DragonForce, Doro Pesch). On November 6th, 2018 was the release date of a new lyric video for "Suffocating Grayish Darkness". This video was produced by Igor Sacilloto, who worked on the videoclip "Lying in State" of Megadeth. “REBUILDING THE FUTURE” was nominated as one as the best 2018 releases in Brazil by some specialized media like METAL NA LATA, HEAVY METAL THUNDER BLOG, ROADIE CREW MAG, ARTE METAL BLOG and CANGAÇO RÁDIO ROCK. | |

Part of the American vocal duo “Layton & Johnstone”, Johnstone, along with Turner Layton, sold ten million records between the years of 1924 and 1935. Layton & Johnstone were one of most successful vocal Duettists in the 1920s and 30s, performing for the British nobility at the most prestigious estates and halls. That was until 1934, when Johnstone was implicated in a scandal involving the wife of Albert Sandler, a Violinist in the Palm Court orchestra, the trial was described as follows: “An appeal by Mr Clarence Nathaniel Johnstone, the coloured variety singer, against an award of £2,500 damages to Mr Albert Sandler, the violinist because of the misconduct of Johnstone and Mrs Sandler was heard in the Court of Appeal. The suit came before the President of the divorce division, Sir Boyd Merriman, and a special jury on March 6 and 7, and Mr Sadler was granted a desree nisi.” Johnstone and Mrs Sandler were then married in December of 1935, a month after the Layton & Johnstone split. After which Johnstone returned to America with the former Mrs Sandler, moving into an apartment in Harlem. He found work as messenger for Western Union, 8 years later his wife left him, causing him to fall into a depression, for the next few years he worked as a janitor, dying in a sanitarium in 1953, aged 68. |

| Search | Add | 8 | Joanie Myburgh | Having previously provided guest vocals for post-punk artists [a4840519] and [a12142906], London-based indie-pop artist Joanie Myburgh has now released her debut solo EP Neurotica via Permanent Creeps Records. A cult-favorite in the London live-scene, supporting alternative rock acts like Black Lips and The Moonlandingz, Joanie infuses the grit and punk ethos of sweaty basement rock into her glittery, glamorous orb. She enlists UK-based artist and producer Jessica Winter, known for her moody soundscapes, who lays down stabbing, ominous synths that layer the four-track project with a spell-binding, dystopian edge. Joanie's lead track "Schadenfreude" shines as the apex of the project, its wicked and rapturous composition tottering between disco decadence and haunting apocalypse. "'Schadenfreude' interrogates the sickness of the modern age," Joanie tells PAPER, "where the downfall of celebrated women is entertainment." The sickly sweet delivery of the impossibly grim is tantamount to Joanie's magic. "Kerosene," with its luxurious music video directed by Ash K Halliburton, takes on the melodramatic world of the iconic '70s film Pink Narcissus. The intoxicating result captures the "intoxication, obsession and escapism" of the homoerotic oldie. From camp anthems to nihilistic eroticism, Joanie's overt interest in first-world hedonism creates thematic anchors in the project, using pop culture as kitschy, ironic breadcrumbs for contemplation. Her biting commentary, satirical edge and catchy lyricism push the strobe-lit dance songs and glossy production into exciting territory. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Sherbet Underground | Sherbet Underground were founded on the New Year’s Eve of 1991 by Antal Geza and Aleksandar Petrovic Mechka. The duo initially tried to play in the line-up of just vocal and guitar, with computer-programmed drum & bass matrix. On their first concert, in April of 1992, few other musicians joined them – Takacs Tibor Faki on clarinet, Dejan Cemerlic Cemerla on trumpet and Zvonko Saric, a guest who spoke his poetry... The band held a dozen concerts, with occasional guest appearance of Dr.Fuzz's whatthe guitar -- the hand-made effects of "dubing" sound. Due to technical inability to perform normal concerts in times of monetary inflation, the band produced self-proclaimed "sound engineers" who, in their arrogance, stupidity and ignorance, failed to solve the “enigma", so Geza and Mechka finally decided to introduce "live" rhythm section… | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Lloyd Francis | Saxon Sound System was started in 1976 in Lewisham, South East london by Dennis Rowe, Lloyd Saxon aka Muscle Head. Originally called Imperial Rockers they changed the name to Saxon in 1978. By the early 80's due in no small part to their highly talented MC's and singers such as Tippa Irie, Smiley Culture, Peter King, Papa Levi, Maxi Priest, Daddy Colonel and Sandy they were the most popular Sound System in the UK. The selectors on the sound were Muscle Head, Trevor Sax, Mini Muscle, Henry Prento and Micky Boops. In 1984 the soundsystem started the UK Bubblers label in co-operation with Greensleeves and released over 30 12" singles and two albums over the next four years. In 1993 they formed their own Saxon label and released over 70 12" singles. With the decline in the popularity of live MC's on a sound in the early 90's Saxon stepped back from the limelight and to a certain extent have struggled to maintain their position in the top echelon of Sound Systems since this time. However they continue to operate and have a regular spot at the Notting Hill Carnival each August. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | DJ Snoyl | Joe Lyons | One of Boston's best kept secrets, DJ Snoyl, a.k.a "The Remix All-Star", has been impressing hip-hop fans nationally and internationally for the past seven years. In 1996 Snoyl began his career spinning hip-hop and knew that entertaining the masses was his calling. Snoyl's extensive experience in the music industry is evident to any ear that hears his unique mixing flavor. He began in '96 as a radio mix-show DJ at WBIM 91.5 FM. In 1997, Snoyl became the Urban Music Director at WBIM. He was also working for a mobile DJ company on the weekends. Working at colleges and high school dances gave Snoyl even more experience with mixing. Tearin' up the land of mix-tapes/CDs. It was big from the start. Despite limited resources, Snoyl's first mix-tape release made it big, real big. The tape, titled "Freestyles 2000", featured all original freestyle raps from both local hip-hop artists and internationally known artists including Eminem and members of the Wu-Tang Clan. The fact that this local unknown DJ was releasing his first major mixtape with over 50 known hip-hop artists doing exclusives gave Snoyl more than a foot in the door. "I recorded that tape in my parents basement with two tape decks and a Discman when I was home on college vacation. These were freestyles that artists had mailed to me and even left on my voicemail! I never imagined that it would be as big as it was!" said Snoyl. More recently, Snoyl has been on the grind with some major mix-CD releases. Last summer he released a double Jay-Z and 50 Cent Blend CD during the Roc The Mic tour. This CD set features over 50 acapella tracks from the duo, blended over beats from Eminem, Dre, and others. If you're a Biggie fans, you already have a copy of Snoyl's recently released "The Christopher Wallace Project" This Notorious B.I.G. tribute CD hosts 43 tracks mixed by Snoyl. In addition to the "Snoyl Blends" of classic and rare Biggie material, freestyles, rare interviews and Biggie demo tracks, Snoyl surprises listeners with never-before-released remixes, "I have been researching this project for about a year and I made sure that at least 75% of the tracks (these versions) on my CD have never been released before by any DJ on any mixtape." Says Snoyl. Snoyl fans have also been waiting in anticipation for his new CD set titled "DJ Snoyl - New Artist Series" The first artist featured is Pop / R&B singer, BL. He competed in the USA World Showcase in Las Vegas last summer, placing first in the male vocal category out of approximately 42,000 applicants worldwide. The BL mix-CD features exclusive "Snoyl remixes" with Kanye West, Method Man, and others. Whether Snoyl is spinning hip-hop at a club, or cutting up vinyl at a concert, he is known for one thing…moving the crowd. Snoyl has performed on stage with major acts like Busta Rhymes and smaller acts like Boston locals "The Kreators". No matter what the venue, the crowd is always moving while Snoyl is on the tables - he has DJ-ed sold out venues of 2000+ along with many smaller venues in Boston and around the country. "I love looking out at the crowd and seeing that one person standing still in the middle of the crowd looking at me with a confused look on their face like 'How did he get this remix'" laughs Snoyl Snoyl's style is rare, if not one of-a-kind to the hip-hop scene. He is one of the only DJ's that mixes instrumentals and acapellas live. He creates live new blends as he DJ's! Those in attendance at Snoyl's shows are always in awe of his hypnotic mixing style that is guaranteed to be a hit with any hip-hop crowd. To book Snoyl worldwide, contact his agent, Jaime Andrews at booking@snoyl.com Get your hands on Snoyl. Snoyl CDs should be a mandatory part of any hip-hop fans CD collection. Every CD that he has released is mixed non-stop with no talking. He keeps the "mix" in mixtape. "A lot of DJ's today don't mix. They put together a compilation of random new songs and talk over it. No mixing, no blending, no scratching, no creativity. "Mix" tapes are an art form that have been unfortunately forgotten" Snoyl says. Snoyl takes pride in his patience to spend a month or more putting together a concept CD that is well thought out and meaningful. By the time Snoyl's new projects hit the shelves, they are packed with blends and remixes that many times, no other DJ has. A local music chain that carries Snoyl's CD's in all 24 of their locations sold out of Snoyl's Jay-Z & 50 Cent double Blend CD production in less than a week! To date, Snoyl has ten different mix-CD's that are selling consistently around the globe and online. His website (www.snoyl.com) alone generates over 2500 hits per day from visitors in over 50 countries. Get your hands on some of Snoyl's work by visiting www.snoyl.com. Snoyl is available worldwide for clubs, concerts, and major college events. In addition to his work as a hip-hop remix DJ, Snoyl owns a consulting business that caters to small businesses and individuals who need design and marketing services. Spin350.com Design Services specializes in the music and entertainment industry. |
