Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Lee Mace | Lee Mace was born July 30, 1927, at Brumley to Lucian Thomas and Clare Buster Mace. He founded "Lee Mace's Ozark Opry" at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. The Mace family owned and operated the show beginning in 1953 when Lee and his wife, Joyce, opened the doors to the show that became known as the longest running original Opry, second only to Nashville's Grand Ole Opry. It closed in 2006 when Joyce retired. During his 32 year operation of the show (and over 9,000 performances, both there and on the road), he never missed a performance. His trademark was playing a "rousing, slapping, free-wheeling bass fiddle." He died June 16, 1985, in a plane crash in Gladstone Cove on Lake of the Ozarks near Gravois Mills. A probe into the fatal crash of his homemade, single-engine airplane, did not disclose any mechanical failure.

Search | Add | 3 | Club Madres Deportivas | The C.M.D. it was literally a study group. "Big Brother", "Small Brother" and "Father Mc Kenzie" are the encrypted names of three excited characters; Juan Navalón, Santi Navalón and Ramón Gilabert, who ran a small recording studio (Micro Estudio) installed on a ninth floor, close Serranos towers, and facing the riverbed that was the Turia. It was 1984 and they took advantage of their free hours to enjoy recording what they wanted. Between the end of 1983 and 1984, they recorded three cassettes full of Frank Zappa "zappianas" and "sportivas" versions ("El Relicario" and "El Manifiesto"). "El Relicario" it´s Zappa, The Mothers, Gruppo Sportivo, Joe Jackson and Kiko Veneno. "El Manifiesto" it´s The Mothers of Invention, Gruppo Sportivo, maestro Padilla, Marvin Gaye, Peter Gabriel, Blancmange, Japan, Ultravox, Human Leage, Culture Club and Nat "King" Cole. Their third publication "En la llengua" is in the Valencian language and it´s The Mothers of Invention and Grupo Sporttivo.

Search | Add | 3 | Adwoa Hackman | Adwoa Hackman, born 22 July 1974 in Munich (Germany), is a singer, songwriter and music producer based in London. She experiments between the sounds of Soul music and alternative RnB, with a passion for tribal percussive elements mainly from West Africa and India. In her newest works, Hackman uses songwriting as a window to reflect on her own personal experiences. She writes about her identity as a black queer woman in today’s society, as well as about self love, empowerment and the complexity of relationships. Her lyrics are driven by the intention of personal healing and growth, and helping others on their own journey. Hackman also plays guitar, bass and drums, always driven by the desire to express herself in the music from all angles. Adwoa has lived in Berlin for 15 years. She has performed in numerous clubs and festivals and gathered an ever-growing community of supporters. She released two albums, [m=2148235] (Deep As The Ocean, 2011) and [r=18926809] (Exile, 2015), which she received widespread praise by the press and the public. Adwoa now lives in London and started releasing new songs in the beginning of 2021. She released her song ‘Love Intro’ on 21 February. Her second single ‘Sealed With A Kiss’ came out on 8 April. The next release will be in May 2021.

Search | Add | 3 | Wild Green Fiendy Liquid | Once school and the army was over Nick started working at Belgium's national television. A lot of Belgium bands worked for television so it became clear something was growing. Nick came across Guido Bos ex Siglo XX. Their first band was Wild Green Fiendy Liquid experimenting with a lot of delays and cut and pasting tapes, yep, computers weren't used back then. A lot of demo's were made resulting after years to a full album. But first two tapes were made. Fed Up with guitars in 1996 they decided to stop the band.

Russia's apocalyptic WelleW, jumped on the techno scene's map and immediately stole the whole show with his phenomenal ''Want U Back EP'', a double production that will definitely be in the history books, graced by the signature of Barcelona's prolific and pioneer, Devotion Records. To spice things up, the ultimate techno legends Ben Long and Spiros Kaloumenos were invited for a remix, reworking those brilliant originals with their own each unique sound which conquers the dancefloors for a couple of decades, and last but not least, label boss Lucas Freire couldn't miss the chance to throw a remix as well, and offered another stunning rework, alongside with the very talented label's resident, Dante Pippi. A package that will make every dancefloor, every clubber, every monitor shout ''Want U Back'' to those tracks. The author of the experimental project Lilly Fox. Search | Add | 3 | Ustad Hafizullah Khan | Hafizullah Khan, who passed away in 2002, was a virtuoso of the sarangi. The sarangi is India's premier fiddle instrument; to most western ears it probably most resembles the violin. It is comprised of a solid wood body, three main playing strings, and 35-40 sympathetic strings. There are no frets of fingerboards, the strings hover over the body of the instrument and the performer changes the pitch by sliding his or her fingernails along the strings. It has an absolutely uncanny ability to imitate the sound of the human voice -- indeed most sarangi masters are also vocalists, as was Hafizullah Khan.

Search | Add | 3 | The Val-Aires | Members: Bill Burkette (Lead Baritone) Don Miller (Baritone) Hugh Geyer (First Tenor) Chuck Blasko (Second Tenor) Neil Foster The story began in 1958 at Turtle Creek High School. There were at least four different vocal harmony groups in school, whose members would sing at assemblies or on the street corner. Two groups joined forces - three fellows came from one group, two fellows from the other group. From one group came Burkette, first tenor Hugh Geyer and bass vocal Don Miller. The other group consisted of second tenor Chuck Blasko and another vocalist, Neil Foster. After rehearsing and getting their vocal harmonies to meld properly, they named themselves the Val-Aires and impressed a local producer, Elmer Willett, who later became their manager. Willett produced the Val-Aires' first release, "Which One Will It Be / Laurie My Love" (Willett 114), and it sold enough copies in Allegheny County that in Coral Records picked it up for national distribution (Coral 62177). 'Which One Will It Be' was just a regional hit, but The Val-Aires then picked up a supporter when the top rock and roll DJ in Pittsburgh, Porky Chedwick, added the group to the rock and roll shows and record hops that his station promoted. After high school, a couple of the guys got drafted and went into the service, then came out of the service and we got back together again. they did shows with the Drifters, the Platters, the Dells, groups like that when they came into town. Before the Val-Aires could have another hit, Hugh Geyer and Don Miller joined the Army, while the other band members went to college or found jobs in the factories surrounding Turtle Creek. A few years later, the five friends decided to record again. Bill Burkette, Don Miller, Hugh Geyer and Chuck Blasko became the Vogues.

Search | Add | 3 | Midheach | Cóilín Ó Midheach | Midheach, pronounced me-ock, is the alias of Irish musician Cóilín Ó Midheach, whose family name finds its origin in the folktales of the Tuatha Dé Danann, and a story of regeneration and healing. Releasing his debut EP ‘Unity-Divinity-Love’ into a world of fear and uncertainty during the first lockdown was far from ideal, but the intent and message behind the songs struck a chord with listeners who sought union and looked to the Divine in a period of upheaval. Describing himself as having “received” the songs on ‘Unity-Divinity-Love’, there is a sense of connection to something powerful and meaningful, as Midheach distils Irish mythology and tradition in an authentic and moving voice. Embracing the Heavens while retaining a strong grounding to nature and the Great Mother, Midheach blends the ethereal with the organic, resonating with his spiritual beliefs and Celtic roots. The age-old need to classify and categorise artists is something that eludes Midheach's style - he simply refers to it as “music from the heart”. |

Search | Add | 3 | The Gongs | From 2002 bio: The Gongs on themselves We formed in early September of 2001. We started off playing musical games using a trio of three lutes called "guys" and recorded the singles "you think i'm a terris", and "i smell..." When we found our first set of steel gongs near the train tracks, they taught us how to imitate the sounds that animals hear, as can be heard in "the bat", and "an old man talks to his dog". Now we always play with our set of amplified gongs. Originally, we were a threesome, Pete, Clara, and Stefan. When he heard us one night, Grisha became attracted to the sound of the gongs' microtones and drones, which he describes in "Evergreens [in Darkest Night]". He became the Gongs' fourth member, playing reeds (a retuned harmonium) and chucky (a super-long electric sliding stringed instrument). He discovered some splendid new techniques for playing the Chucky, such as "creating a cast relationship w/ the stratosphere", and others you can hear on our website. From the beginning, we had been in contact with "th' Man w/ the Red Steam"; we sang a few songs about him and soon realized we needed a better tool to communicate with. In January, we built this out of a collection of electronic rhythm circuits. Ever since then "th'Man w/the Red Steam" (or more correctly, "th'monument to th'Man with the Red Steam") has been helping to complete our sound. Back in October, (hal'ween to be exact) the gongs made first contact with artist/composer/producer/???, Momus, and began work on a cd for release on his label American Patchwork. Search | Add | 3 | Transparent Curse | Originating from Antwerp. Formed in 1993, originally a trio that had to deal with several lineup changes (with guitarist [a1612928] being the only constant factor). The name Transparent Curse was derived from a fragment of a book by Guy Bogaert (‘Wat kwaad doen de Tovenaars?’ -> a story about an insane asylum). For the group, their musical past is only a “youthful indiscretion” with fun memories and educational experiences. This “youthful indiscretion” produced six demos; ‘Black Pussy’s’ - 1993, ‘At the Murder Party’ - 1995, (ref: Stage music magazine nº 6). ‘Duplicate of Alien reflections’ - 1996, ‘Sample One’ - 1996, ‘And then, there was Panic…’ - 1996 -> 100 copies sold (ref. ‘Dark Entries’ n° 15; “Heimwee allom, een prille The Cure of een sublieme Joy Division is nergens veraf...”), ‘Eine Symphonie des Grauens’ - 1996, a live video and several performances in and around Antwerp. In 1997 the tide turns and Transparent Curse becomes a five-man formation with a fixed lineup; [a1612925] - vocals, [a1612929] - bass, [a1612928] - guitar + vocals, [a1612924] - keys + guitar, [a1612926] - drums + electronic percussion. The sound with which they manage to profile themselves aligns with the Cold Wave and New Wave experiments of the '80s. Names such as [a3898], [a100654], [a71984], [a28972], [a127613] and [a3909] have therefore served as the main sources of inspiration. Gradually they manage to give it their own character and style. In addition to this, the group also gratefully uses English, German, Dutch and French lyrics. Performances follow (and continue to follow thanks to growing interest), several live videos are recorded and in August '98 the group goes into the studio for a CD recording: ‘[r1986295]’! Transparent Curse briefly described: a group that is firmly rooted in the '80s Wave with one leg and is looking for its own identity with the other. Creating your own face within an era where an abundance of electro violence is central and often despises the melancholy of floating melodies and echoing rhythms is not easy…
