Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 16 Hipe Wayne Lee Robertson Born, Wayne Lee Robertson better known as HIPE, in a little place known as Ravensmead, Cape Town, South Africa, he began his love for music @ the tender age of 12. The highly respected underground hip hop producer rose to prominence as one of the most interesting figures in Cape Town's underground Hip Hop scene. With his childhood friends, in the group [a=Cell Block], Hipe quickly made a name for himself as an MC and producer. His expansive style and enthusiastic sense of composition has made him one of Cape Town underground hip-hop's most respected producers. Hipe was one of the founding members of [a=Cell Block] and produced for the group in early 1995. Venturing further, he produced a compilation in 1997 called "The Detonator" which showcased local artists from all over the Cape Flats. A few of his projects included tracks he did for a documentary entitled "Tomorrows Heroes", featuring the likes of the late [a=Mr. Devious], [a=Godessa] and [a=Cell Block]. He Produced the soundtrack for an advertisement, which he did for Mr. Fat of [a=Brasse Vannie Kaap], that later aired on Television (2002). In 2000, the group [a=Ancient Men] was born, of which HIPE was the producer and MC alongside Demus, another MC from the Flats. He independently produced their entire debut full-length album, which was released in 2005, entitled 'The Food of Life", and spawned the hit single "Sum Day".

Search Add 16 Xtrememusik Xavier James XtremeMusik (Also goes by “Xtreme” for short, or “XM”), born on April 27, 1996 in Jacksonville, NC then raised in Saint Louis, MO. XtremeMusik is a young, passionate, humorous, critical thinker when it comes to music. At a young age, he was more of a daydreamer listening to atmospheric sounds that catches his ear what most people don’t hear in today’s world. He describes these atmospheric sounds: “Small to catch”. On his spare time, he was excessively playing video games to keep himself entertained. Until the age of 14, he discovered his favorite group (Ethereal Universe, before being added to the group) that inspired him into doing music production. Getting glimpse of ideas from a popular night-only broadcasting network known as “[adult swim]” from their commercial break bumpers, XM took action by experimenting sounds and creating adult swim-like bumpers on his personal YouTube channel, using his creativity and original sounds.

His name, a blend of ‘X’ and ‘ILENO,’ hints at his South American roots and the endless possibilities he explores. More than a musician, X-ILENO is a social commentator, blending diverse musical influences like glitch, industrial, hip hop, and ambient trap to create genre-defying sounds. His debut album, UXCIDE, is a dystopian critique of societal injustices, challenging listeners to question the values of profit and materialism. X-ILENO’s music is a call to action, advocating for a better future through themes of unity, equality, and the fight against hate and ignorance. He believes music is a powerful tool for community building and expressing important ideas. Embracing diversity and curiosity, X-ILENO encourages creativity and progress, urging humanity to keep striving for peace and love.

Following the death of his father and the migration of his mother to Canada, Everett had to take care of himself. His first ventures in to music was as the owner and part time operator of the Sound System Emperor Lion in 1969. He was also working at a pressing plant in Kingston before he migrated to Toronto, Canada in 1976. Working at a pressing plant would later influence him in to launching King Culture Records. In 1979 King Culture launched King Culture Records and Videos a retail record/video outlet on Eglington Avenue. The store proved such a success that in 1981 he open yet another outlet to handle the growing demand. Due to slow economy and the economic recession of the time he had to scale back to solely one store again. The store would also house his studio. As a producer King Culture has released records by Jamaican artistes such as Rod Taylor, Barry Brown and Pad Anthony but focus has been on Canadian artists such as Howie Smart, Stamma Rank and The Uplifters. Often King Culture would group a Jamaican artist with a Canadian artist on the 7" singles released on his label. In 1982 Culture received an award for the dub album »King Culture In A Cultural Mood« by the 3rd Canadian Black Music Awards 1981. The same year he also received awards for Reggae Producer of the Year and being Top Reggae Distributor. He has since then won many awards for his productions, distribution of music/videos and merit awards for his support of Canadian Reggae.

Search Add 16 Garra Blanca Garra Blanca (White Claw) is the title given to a barra brava that was created in Chile by the supporters of Santiago based football club Colo-Colo. It is one of the three largest and most important barras bravas in the country, the other beings Universidad de Chile's Los de Abajo (those from below) and Universidad Catolica "Los Cruzados" ("The Cruzaders"). In early 1986 a youth movement gave rise among the various supporters of Colo-Colo imitating the Hooligans. Amid the military regime of Augusto Pinochet, marginalized members of Chilean society decided to unite and form a voice of identity.[1][2] Over the years the group has been associated with widescale violence. Fighting with security personnel, the Chilean national police, and other team barra bravas is a common occurrence. Garra Blanca leaders are reported to have an unofficial relationship with Blanco y Negro, the corporate entity that is in charge of Colo-Colo. The board of directors deny such an alliance and have only stated that the barra brava is recognized for stadium safety reasons.

Elmo wrote his first song, "A Glimpse Of Jesus" at age fourteen, later contracted and published by the John T. Benson Publishing Company of Nashville, Tennessee. To date he has written over 1,600 songs and arranged thousands more for top singers, groups and publishers nationwide. He was church pianist for Park Avenue Baptist Church in Nashville for over 38 years. Mercer has composed over 1600 gospel songs and compiled/edited over 200 songbooks. Affiliated with the Benson Company from 1951-1998 he worked with top writers and artists. After being a Benson Company staff writer for ten years (in the 50s), he became Music Editor and on New Years Day 1961, moved his family to Nashville. In 1981 he retired from full-time duties, but continued to do special projects for Benson, along with many other publishers as well. He has compiled and edited more than 200 gospel songbooks, including several in the popular "New Songs of Inspiration" series. His choral book, "Crusade Choir Vol 1" sold over 500,000 copies in twenty-two years. His instrumental books were also very popular. Many denominational hymnals include his various songs. At nineteen he composed "Each Step I Take", which has been recorded by hundreds of artists in many languages, including Slim Whitman and George Beverly Shea. While participating in evangelistic crusades in South Korea in 1981, he discovered the song to be a favorite among Christians there. It is loved and sung around the world. His song "What A Glad Reunion Day" is in the 20th Century Fox 1998 movie "The Thin Red Line". However, during the time he was recording with Carlsen for Paramount, he was also pursuing his country roots by performing as a soloist and with the prolific hillbilly team of Frank Welling & John McGhee. During the depression, Teter ceased recording, but continued as a radio host in Wisconsin known as “The Song Doctor.” Keeping himself before the public, Teter was the surprise hit of 1950 with a vocal version of an old jazz standard, “Johnson Rag.” With his group, the Jack Teter Trio, his career was rejuvenated and he enjoyed further success in the early 1950's. He died in 1987.

Search Add 16 J.M. Valle Jose Valle, Jose Manuel Valle, H/M, The Homeboy Mad, Thee Midas Touch, Executive Producer, Songwriter, Publisher, Graphic Designer, Promoter, Writer of [l1244578]. J.M. Valle grew up in East Side San Jo (California), just blocks away from historic King and Story Roads. Mr. Valle’s grandfather came to the United States under the Bracero program, a government program that helped fill farmworker labor while a majority of Americans were serving in World War II. Mr. Valle’s parents were both farmworkers who moved to San José in the late 1970’s during the height of San José’s low-rider capital to work on the computer assembly line. While Mr. Valle’s parents were chasing the American Dream, Mr. Valle endured a flawed education system, police harassment and brutality, and everyday survival of the barrio. J.M. Valle founded the Souleros Ball in 2009, which undeniably was the first public event where Rare Oldies (Soul Harmony/Low-rider Oldies) record collectors gathered to spin their prized collection in front of a live audience. The Souleros Ball indirectly embarked on an entire movement and market encompassing Oldies vinyl nights, old school cholo artwork, and contemporary recordings of the Rare Low-rider Oldies sound. Although the Souleros Ball showcased live performances since its inception, the Souleros Ball became a game changer in 2011, after a live performance by Myron and E of Timmion Records (Finland, Europe). This event constructed a bridge between contemporary recording artists and the Raza. At Mr. Valle's request, Myron and E performed a cover of The Exit's "Under the Street Lamp", which later led to a record contract with Stones Throw Records. During the same year, Wax Poetics Magazine released a cover story of the growing Chicano Rare Oldies scene which featured Mr. Valle and his contributions to the movement. In 2015, J.M. Valle wrote and directed the screenplay for the The Jack Moves "Joyride" (Wax Poetics) music video. The music video depicted la Chicanada with cameos of OG Dave (Barrio Brawler), Victor Barrera (Duke of Earl Movie), Roberto Hernandez (SF Lowrider Council), and Big Serg (The Principal). Filmed in San José, San Francisco's Mission District and Oakland, the video is also dedicated to Sonny Madrid, founder of Low Rider Magazine and Teen Angel, both of which had their break in San Jo, and passed during the same year. After trial and error, J.M. Valle formed Thee Baby Cuffs made up of Joe Narvaez, Gilberto Rodriguez and Dave Herrera and began his songwriting and producing career. In 2017, Mr. Valle self released a rendition of Larry Sanders’ “Where Did Peace Go” backed by The M-Tet (Bay Area). Mr. Valle re-worked the lyrics to describe the plight of Raza and re-titled Larry Sanders’ protest song to “Where Did Our Pride Go”. Digital formats and streams were released during anti-presidential inauguration protests nationwide when Trump took the White House. A 45 release followed during the same year on Cinco de Mayo. The following year in 2018, Mr. Valle wrote a song titled, “My My My Baby” about his early relationship with his wife, getting married and having a family, yet challenged by family members who naturally wanted to shield their baby girl. “My My My Baby” was recorded as a demo which never came to surface at Chris Lujan's (Lugnut Brand Records) studio bedroom. Cold Diamond and Mink (Stylart, a subsidiary of Timmion Records) cut an uptempo version which gave both Mr. Valle's songwriting and his group, Thee Baby Cuffs an international platform. In 2019, J.M. Valle released a reissue of Suenos “Baby I Love You” with the Spanish version as the B-Side for the first time on 45. J.M. Valle previously reached out to band leader Frank Lizarraga to perform at the Souleros Ball in 2013 in the band’s hometown in Sacramento, Ca.. Suenos “Baby I Love You” was originally pressed in 1982 as a single on San Jose’s Luna Records with a Spanish version released on their album the following year. The Spanish version never cut as a single and the sought after English version never made an album release making this reissue unique. Aside from Mr. Valle’s music career, he also wrote for Street Low Magazine making two cover stories, one of which being R&B Bay Area artist, Davina. Mr. Valle also broke the Souleros Ball in an article he wrote in Street Low Magazine which had Benjamin Bratt starring in the La Mission movie as its cover story. Mr. Valle also wrote for Teen Angel Magazine including its cover story of tattoo artists Pistolero Viejo which was also the last issue to print. J.M. Valle has also curated various art shows featuring art from prison and local artists. Lastly J.M. is known for his work in the community including prison reform, prisoner’s human rights, working with youth, historic preservation and mural advocacy.

Search Add 15 Templum N.R. Templum N.R. is a temple dedicated to Nightside Revelations and in this temple other worlds, paraller universes and realities are present both in sound and vision. The repertoire of the group consists of telepathic resonances received while travelling in the Spheres of Otherness and is presented through obscure electronics, eternal & eerie melodies and droning, swallowing textures. The material of the Temple will travel deep inside the listeners subconsciousness and foster the understanding of a Formless Sacrifice. The Otherness is unleashed in the surroundings inhabited by the group’s output. NOTE: There will be no official presence of Templum N.R. in the global system of interconnected computer networks. If you would like to receive traditional paper newsletters, unique artworks & exclusive audio tapes of the group, please join the official Templum N.R. subscription list. Search Add 15 Derek Lyn Plastic Derek Lyn Duncan DEREK LYN PLASTIC conjures up post-apocalyptic images of neon-lit back alleys and light-saber switchblades, with it's hopeless bad-boy romanticism vibe set to twitching keys and guitar fuzz. The sound is catchy enough to be placed alongside any of today's most notable punk-pop.Casual fans of this genre might just find a new favorite mad scientist in DEREK LYN PLASTIC. (MAXIMUM ROCK N' ROLL) .... I do believe it's more of a spontaneous generation than an empty trend--new wave smacked on the jagged boulders of garage rock, exploding in a bounty of once-buried treasure.Science experiments gone wrong, psychosis being wrestled with, and dirty electronics used as percussion instruments and then caressed back into a melody. The best of all,the songs are thickly spined and muscled into form by solid songwriting instead of mere shtick. In turn this reminds me of Gary Numan,Joy Division.Good stuff.(RAZORCAKE)....
