Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 10 | Alexey Luka | Алексей Лучко (Alexey Luchko) | Alexey Luka was born in 1983 in Moscow, where he currently lives and works. Among the most talented and influential young artists in the Russian contemporary art scene. With a background in architecture studies, the Russian artist developed a unique and recognizable style, based on the use of abstract geometric shapes and chromatic variations. Perfectly comfortable with different techniques, spray paints, acrylic paints, sculpture, and collage, Alexey Luka creates complex compositions in which the colors and geometric lines interact, resulting in a sort of puzzle to decipher. The observer is left, therefor, to reconstruct and consequently interpret the image, starting precisely with the colors that suggest shapes: faces, characters and landscapes alternate in a game of perception that activates our imagination. Through the composition and decomposition of the shapes and the chromatic combinations, with references to Constructivism and Neo-plasticism, the artist aims to tell a story, to evoke a situation or a vision, in an entirely unusual and original way. |

In lathe cutting a voice coil is used to drive a needle which cuts the sound waves into the revolving disk beneath it. This method has long been used for producing lacquer masters, which are then used to make metal plates for pressing. Most of the machines used for this purpose were manufactured pre-1960. Our particular machine (Presto 75A) began production in 1938. In recent years many people have begun experimenting with utilizing these machines to produce limited edition, unique records out of unorthodox materials such as picnic plates and plastic disks.

Which were compiled by his pupils [a8220923] and [a10183072] Nakao Tozan was born on October 5, 1876 (the 9th year of the Meiji-Era) in Suita-Gun (present-day Hirakata City), the second son of Nakao Jirohei and his wife Mitsu. His real name was Nakao Rinzo. In 1894, at the age of 17, he became a komuso, and then, two years later in 1896, he first established a shakuhachi school in Tenma, Osaka City, in the West of Japan. This date, February 15, is now celebrated as the official founding of the Tozan-Ryu School. Nakao Tozan then embarked on a career as a performer, and in 1903 composed the first Tozan-Ryu honkyoku, Sōgetsu-chō, and in 1908 wrote and published his first shakuhachi tutor and sheet music. Compared to the older schools of shakuhachi, the Tozan style of composition must have sounded much more modern, and even in his honkyoku he often included very rhythmical two-, or sometimes three-part sections following the opening solo section, sometimes with the whole piece being written for two or more flutes right from the beginning. In 1915, at the age of 38, he toured Russia, and in the following year also gave the first of his performances in Korea and China, eventually returning to give concerts there at least ten times. In 1922, the Headquarters of the school were transferred to Tokyo. After this, Nakao Tozan met the famous blind koto master Miyagi Michio, and they toured Western Japan together, which led to the establishment of the Shin Nihon Ongaku movement (“New Japanese Music”). Together they made many revolutionary changes to Japanese traditional music. In 1930, when he was 53, Nakao Tozan ceased performing to concentrate on teaching and composition, and to nurture the next generation of Tozan performers. After the Second World War, he returned to his hometown (now renamed Hirakata), and then, in 1949, moved to Kyoto. In 1953, he was honored with the Japan Arts Academy Award for his great contributions to Japanese music, and he died in 1956 at the age of 80.

Search | Add | 9 | Jazzlib | Taking it back to that real hip hop you gotta touch and feel. The pure essence of droppin' science. Jazzlib, tribe of the Sun. "Jazzlib embodies the values of nature, creativity, one-ness, funk, soul, expression, spontaneity and all-happening. Experiencing the worldly expressions as beautiful flowers that resemble sea urchin barb. It was a mistake that would rule them all because it was the only one that tried." ~Charlie Wellington Cumbersworth the 3rd The Jazzlib is about having fun and reuniting the elements of hip hop that aren't as well integrated these days: MCing, DJing, BBoying and Graff Writting. In the eyes of the Jazzlibs, what's lacking will not be found by changing the music and replicating the golden age, instead it will be found by changing the culture. When the culture supports, promotes and internalizes the values of what Hip-Hop really is (peace, love, unity, respect, having fun) The community attains a level of collective Be-Ness (the ability to be) and the second wave of the golden age will begin. These values constitute a communal environment of infinite creative potential where anything is possible beyond your wildest dreams. The Jazzlib call this place Slumberland and indulge deep into its mystery on their incredibly produced hit track "Jazzlibs In Slumberland" off of their What It Shall Be EP. With this love and acceptance woven into the threading of our culture, mistakes are allowed and become encouraged. The Jazzlib movement states "The greatest threat to creativity in any circumstance is the fear of "making a mistake" and that couldn't be any more true. Its a silly thing to think that something is wrong just because we don't have the means to understand it yet at that moment. This is where the next Jazzlib value enters the spotlight. "Nonsense". Our intellectual understanding of reality is born from symbols/words. Our intellectual understanding of reality is not prescriptive, it is descriptive just as language is. Just as language comes into creation and evolves to describe the infinite so does our culture evolve in the same way. Creation originates as nothing more than an awareness that no words are able to describe, a realization unrecognizable by the mind. A mystery that hides itself in the non-sensory realm because that's where it prefers to be. When nonsense is practiced new methods of understanding are developed and mistakes then become the greatest of creations.

Search | Add | 9 | Denny Bellens | Denny Bellens | Denny Bellens aka Black Buddha or dBell, was born in the summer of 1980 in Bangkok, Thailand. He arrived in Belgium when he was 12 and continues to reside here, the place he is proud to call home. Music has been his passion since he was a child, he was attracted by two styles of music, The first one being, punk and the other, simply House. Already the young Buddha was talking enthusiastically about the desire to combine these two giants of music into one glorious mix. Just as an experiment, or maybe, just out of pure curiosity, it was to prove a turning point for the young Denny. However, To become member of the popular school groups, you had to have listened to one style of music only? This of course wasn't the written law, but the way he saw it he didn't have a choice. Denny would befriend all the musicians he could, in order to find the inspiration he so desperately needed, he would need to play by these rules. Pressure from his peers and the inability to make this choice meant that Denny was totally alone in this almost unheard of musical change, but he knew that it could change, and he would one day be the one to change the face of what we know as popular music and also to create diversity into what had become a segregated music policy. For him it was ok to be attracted by so many different styles of music and create some kind of crossover. This was the message he needed to share. However this would not prove to be easy and Denny would spend the next few years alone trying these new and radical ideas out in the privacy of his own small studio. It was after this, that he would become fascinated with Dance, soul, and mainstream pop, he started to hear the sound that he was searching for. When he was 15, he joined his brother and other friends as they went out to clubs. This atmosphere drew him even deeper toward House and Dance songs. From that moment, he decided to become DJ. A few years later, when he was 23, he bought a turntable from a friend. This was his real first step toward finally bringing his unique style of music to the masses. After a while, he got the break he needed an opportunity to become a DJ in Club Dodge. Denny enjoyed his small following of kids, who believed in what he was trying to do. His collection of vinyl's expanded very fast. At this time another club in the area 'Club Boccaccio' had organized a DJ Contest, Denny would not did only participate, but won this DJ Contest, practically sweeping all the dull and mundane competition away!! After winning this special event, he was contacted by Club Illusion and he became Resident DJ at Club DeLite. In 2008 he participated the Bonzai Reworx Contest. He didn't win this one, but his remix was officially released on Bonzai Reworx. One year later, his first EP was released on Decibel NYC. Denny was starting to realize his dream, and his following were growing even stronger, this was the start of his revolution! When Club DeLite finally closed there doors, due to whatever reason, he had more time to work on his own productions. Releasing his music this way was much harder, but he still continued. Not long ago, he contacted more active people in the industry and some interesting projects are in progress. His only goal is to release music he loves and spread his music, his style. |

Several dance styles come together in their own dynamic Longplayers sound based on nu skool breaks, drum 'n bass and old skool beats. Longplayers was founded in the summer of 1999. Producer Bart Knol and scratcher Stephan van den Bos combine their forces and create a progressive dance formula, which made them win the 'Grote Prijs van Nederland' in the category Dance that same year. In 2000 vocalist Martin Hilkhuysen and live drummer Mathijs Beukema joined Longplayers. Started out as a dual formation, Longplayers has now become a professional, complete and unique band in the Dutch dance scene. |
