Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Merle Tillotson | Merle Alcock (February 6, 1884 - March 1, 1975) was an American contralto who sang with the Metropolitan Opera in 236 performances from 1919 to 1929, officially signing in with them in 1924.[1] Alcock's concert debut was in London in 1914.[2] She also sang with the Boston and New York Symphony Orchestras.[2] She found a patron in Mrs. Charles Schwab in 1916.[3] Mrs. Schwab was herself a singer as a young woman. Alcock first sang at the Met in a performance of Verdi’s Requiem Mass on Dec. 14, 1919. Her opera debut was on Nov. 15, 1923, when she sang the role of the fiddler Beppe in L’amico Fritz. Alcock trained other singers in her retirement such as Eileen Farrell. Alcock was born Merle Tillotson in Andover, Missouri, to Zula and the Reverend Elijah Tillotson. She graduated from Drake University’s Conservatory of Music in 1906. She married Bechtel Alcock, a tenor, in 1914.[4] The two would often perform together.[2] She died on March 1, 1975, and is buried in Wooster Cemetery in Wooster, Ohio.

Search | Add | 4 | PostOmnis | Sean Graves | PostOmnis is a band from Moore, Oklahoma, United States, formed in 2000. Throughout the bands history, the genre's of the band has included but not limited to: Ambient, Industrial, Electronica, Techno, Rock, New Age and Classical. The band was first started by Brother and Sister duo Sean and Sheri Graves. The only constant member of the band has been Sean Graves. Graves was originally in a New Age band called YAMA, but after the release of "The Longest Ship." He then left the band to begin PostOmnis. Between 2000-2004 the project released local demos of electronic sounds. Which saw a gradual change in writing style and genres. 2005's Conscience album was the first full length to be release on the internet and feature Sean Graves as vocalist of the band. Two singles were later released from the album on to the internet. "I was given a chance to live my dream since I was 16 and working on P.O.'s first album. I had facilities at schools and colleges. There were studios, theaters and videos to work on my craft and figure out weather I enjoyed the performance or the production side." Between 2006 - 2010 multiple albums were released, "Nos Mortuus" dubed as the project's most dark ambient album. "Insomniac People" was more electronic and industrial. The "Equilibrium" album featured the voice of Sean and Sheri's father throughout the album. 2011-2012 A revamp of PostOmnis began when Sean Graves enlisted into the United States Navy. While writing music for the band he had also traveled across the world searching for new sounds. New band members including Lor, Talios Wing, and Kevin (Guitar Guy). "After taking a long time off from working on the project. It feels really good to talk to people of like minds. People who can hear the music and take it to another world. The project has grown, I'm very comfortable with the new music and it's really exciting to be working again on the craft." |

The Syndrome Of Terror is the way they found to demonstrate their disgust, anger, disgust or any other feeling that motivates them to say no to everything that oppresses them. The sound is basically Grindcore, with a few pinches of Death-Metal and Hardcore, with politicized lyrics and often bordering on the philosophical lyricism. "...the album has two extended tracks that are like two sides on an old vinyl album... its not too long an album by current CD standards, but its about the same length as the 'Love Supreme' album by John Coltrane or Santana's 'Abraxas' or an old Nick Drake or Beatles album or whatever... and we like 'side-long' tracks that get into a mood or a groove and stay there for a good while, like Fela or Ali Akbar Khan or electric Miles Davis, music that changes constantly with subtle variations and which feels like it can go off in any direction at any given moment, like life, like sex..." "...each of the two pieces on the album is based on a live, solo performance which was then developed and manipulated in various ways... the basis for the first part is an electric guitar feedback improvisation in an altered tuning, and the second is based on a rhythm performed on Indian tabla drums... each initial performance, the guitar feedback and the tabla groove, went on for about 17 minutes and was recorded in one take, and the album grew organically from that simple foundation... by overdubbing we played along with the basic tracks with no preconception or plans, and when we agreed that something sounded interesting we worked with it... the process was completely free and improvisational and for that reason exciting and engaging for us as the composer/performers because we never knew how it would turn out..." - from an interview with Chris Basile in Melbourne.

Search | Add | 4 | Philips Wouwerman | Philips Wouwerman also Wouwermans | Philips Wouwerman (also Wouwermans) (24 May 1619 (baptized) – 19 May 1668) was a Dutch painter of hunting, landscape and battle scenes. Philips Wouwerman was one of the most versatile and prolific artists of the Dutch Golden Age. Embedded in the artistic environment and tradition of his home town of Haarlem, Wouwerman made an important and highly influential contribution to the canon of seventeenth-century Dutch painting. His pictures were in demand during his lifetime, and even more sought after in the 18th century. Throughout Europe, formerly princely art collections like in Dresden and St. Petersburg still bear witness to this widespread admiration of Wouwerman's art. Born in Haarlem in 1619, the son of a now altogether obscure painter named Pouwels Joostsz. Wouwerman, little is known about the artistic schooling of Wouwerman. According to Cornelis de Bie, he studied with [a=Frans Hals] (1581/85–1666), but the particular style of Hals didn't leave a foot mark on his oeuvre. Apart from a short stay in Hamburg at the end of the 1630s, Wouwerman seemed to have lived in Haarlem during his whole artistic career and died as a prosperous member of the community at the age of 48. He joined the Haarlem Guild of St. Luke in 1640 and here took on several official posts in the years to come. Wouwerman also worked as an estate agent in his home town, as many documents in Haarlem archives mentioned the artist in this context. Wouwerman started his artistic career with simple depictions of everyday life in the tradition of the bamboccianti by Pieter van Laer (1592/99–after 1642). His paintings of the mid-1640s often feature a diagonal slope of land, a tree which functions as a repoussoir, and figures accompanied by horses. Over the next thirty years he developed an individual style, treating a wide range of subjects from genre and landscape to military and religious scenes (equestrian scenes, hunting and hawking parties, landscapes with travelers, cavalry battles and military encampments, peasants festivities etc.). He is noted for his skill in the depiction of horses of all breeds seen in motion. The art historian Frederik J. Duparc calls Wouwerman " undoubtedly the most accomplished and successful 17th-century Dutch painter of horses". The masterpieces from his best period (around 1650–1660) are of indisputably high quality, beautifully combining imaginary southern landscapes and a typically Dutch atmosphere. Wouwerman's paintings are characterized by subdued colors, a cool atmosphere and a wealth of witty, anecdotal details. He died in Haarlem. At an early age, Wouwerman married Anna Pietersz. van Broeckhoff with whom he had ten children. They lived on the Bakenessergracht in a house that was also lived in by Haarlem painters Cornelis Gerritsz Decker and Hendrik de Meijer. Seven of the Wouwerman children survived and, after the death of their mother in 1670, accepted a substantial inheritance. Jan and [a=Pieter Wouwerman], the younger brothers of Philips, were often regarded as close followers whose pictures seemed to have been frequently attributed to Philips. And indeed, the oeuvre of Pieter (1623–1682) clearly manifests the influence of Philips with regard to the range of subjects, but regarding the artistic style, Pieter had quite one of his own. And Jan (1629–1666) was a rather autonomous landscape painter. Out of the countless followers, some of the most gifted artists working in Wouwerman's style are worth mentioning: Jan van Huchtenburgh (1647–1733), the brothers Jan Frans (1683–1750) and Joseph van Bredael (1688–1739) as well as Carel van Falens (1683–1733). His registered pupils were Johannes van der Bent, Hendrick Berckman, Eduard Dubois, Nicolas Ficke, Barent Gael, Anthony de Haen, Emanuel Murant, [a=Matthias Scheits], Kort Withold, and his brothers. The first retrospective exhibition of Philips Wouwerman's work took place in Kassel, Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister, and in The Hague, The Royal Picture Gallers Mauritshuis, 2009/2010. |

Search | Add | 4 | Captain Sperrmüll | Captain Sperrmüll was a German-speaking rock band from the Saarland, which had its beginnings in the Anarcho/Sponti scene. Polit-rock meets new-wave, as the title of their debut album suggested: spontaneous and anarchistic. Their second Die Sonne Geht Auf was an oddity for the Schneeball label, in that it embraced punk anarchism with gusto, and was not Krautrock at all, but pastiche and almost frighteningly demented.

Search | Add | 4 | Ralph Yaw | Ralph Percy Yaw | American composer and arranger. Born 22 October 1898 in Berkshire, Franklin, Vermont Died Died 25 Apr 1963 at age 64 in Kern, California. He wrote arrangements for a great many swing-era bandleaders during the 1930s and 1940s. He co-wrote some songs with poet/lyricist [a6410373]. Yaw is best-known for his work with Stan Kenton. When he was about 28 and Kenton was 15, Yaw met Kenton and introduced him to the recordings of Earl Hines and Louis Armstrong. Yaw wrote and arranged for Kenton beginning in the early 1940s. Kenton put together his first band in 1941; from the beginning, it was an "arranger's band" and Yaw took advantage. He was (along with Kenton himself) responsible for much of that early band's book, arranging and composing dozens of original pieces for the band, including the notable "Two Moods." Yaw often refused compensation because he knew money for the band was tight, and he enjoyed writing for a band with which he felt so much accord. |

Not once, but boasts with nominations for three of his tracks, “ Take me Home”, “My Christmas Wish” and “It’s all in Vein” https://www.pretoriafm.co.za/aitsa-toekennings/ Jacques’s music can be described as “completely fresh”, it’s not Classical, not pure Instrumental and definitely not normal film music, but it does remind you of all three genres. Combine that with a hint of electronica and it opens a world of endless opportunity and listening enjoyment. Jacques is currently signed by renowned Los Angeles Publishing Company, Alcon / Sleeping Giant (ASG) Records A Division of ASG Music Group LLC. You can now experience Jacques music “Live” with solo Piano performance, with a combination of Soloist (incl Violin, Cello & Guitar) or full band. This is perfect for Corporate Events, Woman’s Teas, Restaurants, Theatre Productions or even House Concerts. Search | Add | 4 | Zender Inc / KGB | Zender | Place of Birth: Amsterdam Country: Netherlands Profession: Freelance Graphic Designer, Illustrator, (Spray)Painter and DJ Company: Zender Industries / Zender inc / KGB Bio: At the age of thirteen I started off as a graffiti artist, getting myself involved in the visual process, but as time passed by I began developing my skills and got numerous commercial, illustration- and paint jobs. In 1999 I spray-painted the Singel Studio (37 x 11 meter) together with a friend I met in the Dutch graffiti scene (Delta). During this same period I got involved in a group exhibition called "Post Graffiti, which helped me gain a lot of public attention. By that time I had my mind set up on learning more about graphic design and at the end of the year I went to Los Angeles, were I worked as a trainee at a small design studio were i learned to work with computers and the graphic design process. Back in Amsterdam The Mazzo Nightclub commissioned me to do a mural in their club, i asked an old friend (Christiaan Dros) to help me out. The exhibition became a success, so we decided to start up our own illustration company and called it: "Zender & Chaos". During this period we produced an enormous amount of illustrations and backdrops for the nightlife scene, painted a coffee shop (the Global Chillage) and their nightclub in Spain. We did as well a lot of illustrations for an art agency called Shop Around until Chris and i went our separate ways and I started working as a freelance artist. At first I did a lot of work as a freelance Graphic designer for Boomerang (a company that produces free postcards) which made me understand how the graphic industry works here in Holland. Today i am back working as a freelance graphic designer and with two other freelance artist we began a little company called KGB (Kreativ grapic buro), working for various clients. I am also represented by Artbox a Creative Art Agency. Next to my graphic job i love to play music as a DJ and organize the Rendez-Vous events with the intention to stimulate creativity.
