Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Jenny Wells Vincent | Vincent was born in Minnesota and raised in Chicago. In 1936, following her graduation from Vassar College, she and her husband, Dan Wells, visited the San Cristóbal, New Mexico, ranch of Freida Lawrence, the widow of D. H. Lawrence. In 1937, they bought a ranch in San Cristóbal and moved to New Mexico. Soon after, they founded a school on the property for grades 5–12 for boarders and daytime students. A classically trained musician, Vincent visited Taos-area schools where she played Mexican folk songs, although school administrators, pushing for assimilation, forbade speaking Spanish in classrooms. She also traveled from town to town, recording local musicians singing and playing old folk songs, frequently in Spanish. In 1943, Vincent became the Taos County representative for the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, which, according to a biography, was "a milestone for her personal and political maturation. In this work she found meaningful expression and practical application for her growing political convictions.” That same year, Vincent joined the Communist Party. Vincent and Wells were divorced in the early 1940s. In 1949, she married Craig Vincent. They remained at the San Cristóbal property, converting the school to a guest ranch. Its mission was "not to raise livestock" but to "foster a community among progressives looking for a refuge from the battles of the Cold War".[5] Among other political and social causes, the Vincents supported the Chicano Movement and the 1951 Salt of the Earth Strike. Believing that music was a vehicle for social advocacy, Vincent played with like-minded musicians including Pete Seeger, Paul Robeson, Woody Guthrie, Malvina Reynolds and Earl Robinson. She died in 2016 at the age of 103. Her archives of original recordings were donated to the University of New Mexico’s Zimmerman Library

Search | Add | 4 | Audioleptique | Bertrand Berrié, Mathieu Bordeleau, Hugues Diaz | Close-knit under the name Audioleptique, those three French DJ’s / Producers are native of Toulouse in the south of France. Music enthusiast, they’ve managed to gather all their influences together to create their own touch: a subtle combination of warm rhythms and minimal melodies, sometimes deep, sometimes percussive, but always groovy. They touched their first vinyl in 2002 and began to play in different clubs in Toulouse. Captivated by the minimal movement in 2006, they’ve chosen to play lively and atypical sets shaped for the dancefloor. In 2007, they created their own concept with other DJ’s, the Lost in Sound parties, which have met a great success. In 2004, they started to produce music as self-taught. Four years later, they’ve improved their technique and their first tracks have been released. |

Search | Add | 4 | Prism Theory | Formed in 1998 Prism Theory is: Barry Davis - Guitars, Backup Vocals Dirk Keylor - Bass Chris Imlay - Lead Vocals, Keys Drew Pencook - Drums Our bodies are machines, controlled by energy and electrical impulses, and energy never ceases to exist, it just changes. Because of that constant transfer of energy, human beings can allow themselves to be emotionally connected to everything around them. From the air we breathe to the warmth of the sun and even the alignments of the planets themselves; we are connected. It is a theory that when we are conceived our bodies come in contact with wandering energies. Energies that map out our talents, personality and entire outlook on the life we live. Prism Theory has always been a focused band which, from day one, has always been about the music. The drive of learning and playing technical and musical songs came from some of their favorite groups such as: Dream Theater, Tool and Rush. Because of such groups, Prism Theory developed their skills of writing and arranging more thought-out and intricately complex sections to their music. Don't be taken by the musicianship of the band alone, they are influenced by the most assertive of bands such as: Sevendust, Korn and Pantera. These bands helped shape Prism Theory’s cutting edge of powerful, drop-tuned sounds that define their style as ‘edgy.’ By also adding catchy vocal melodies and tight harmonies (King's X) to the mix, they’ve created a very high-energy emotional ride, which captures the essence of their sound. Finally, adding the dark topics and personal conflicts of lyrics, the songs still leave you with a feeling or a sign of hope and a positive outlook on life. People are drawn to Prism Theory for these reasons. The songs allow you to feel something and at the same time the music is constantly changing around you to keep you on your toes. "Our vision is to create music in the same way that a prism separates white light into the entire spectrum. The same way blue can make you feel melancholy, or red can symbolize angry emotions, but when put together you get one whole unit.” says lead vocalist Chris Imlay. It’s that spirituality and passion for music that shines through with every performance. What you see are four artists who take you through every emotion, every time, with just the right touch of rage, range and class. That musicality has earned them numerous opening spots for national acts including progressive super group Planet X, Flaw, Greenwheel, Beautiful Creatures, 8 Stops 7 and My Own Victim. The same virtues have also earned them their own headlining shows throughout the region. "The bottom line is we take our music seriously and put 100 percent into everything we do. We want to make you think, we want to share our perspective, and we want you to leave the show wanting more."

Search | Add | 4 | Walter Wray | British singer and songwriter, born 7 February 1959 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Melodic pop singer/songwriter Walter Wray began singing in local church choirs as a schoolboy. However, by the age of 16 he had mastered the guitar, and started writing songs with his first band, entitled Shitehot. Reading music and English literature at Sheffield University, Wray continued writing until in 1986 he, and his band, [a=Junk (6)], signed to local label Native Records. Junk's debut album, Cuckooland, and accompanying single, "The World Doesn't Turn", were all that emerged from the deal, though the single did enter the UK indie charts. By 1988 Wray had moved on to form [a=King Swamp]. After signing to Virgin Records and touring extensively this outfit also petered out, despite more positive press for Wray's songs. Possibly taking the hint, he retreated instead to a more self-sufficient guitar/voice solo format, though he kept up the punishing touring schedule inaugurated by his former bands. Opening for INXS, Jeff Healey, Gary Clarke, Julia Fordham and Jools Holland, Wray went on to deliver his debut album in October 1993. Co-produced with Sting guitarist Dominic Miller, Foxgloves & Steel Strings drew fawning reviews from the critics. The first single taken from the album, "Heaven On Our Side", was inspired by the blue and gold mask of Tutankhamun. The second excerpt, "Can't Call It Love"/"A Hand To Hold", conversely took its subject matter from the black US doo wop singers of the 50s and 60s.

Search | Add | 4 | Céleste Boursier-Mougenot | Born in Nice (France), 1961. Céleste Boursier-Mougenot working what he calls himself sound forms "living" facilities that unfold in time and space correspondence, equivalences between sculpture and uncertainties and music. From the mid 1990s, Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, while musician for the theater, considering the space of the gallery and the museum as the singular locus of his compositions. Moving the question of musical performance and interpretation by the musician to the instrument itself, since it develops and sculptural work space in which diversions act on both the technology used and the processing of information. Performance without performersThe works of the artist playing on the illusion of live. They dig audio and visual traps, through filters and manipulations, in a world already deregulated. If it fits in an experimental music history and its sculptural and performative transmission short Cage Fluxus, via La Monte Young, the work of Céleste Boursier-Mougenot is not less contemporary of horizon saturated with information, signals, controls and information transfers. Fascinating in its simultaneously spectacular in its effects and thin and remote devices in its forms and passages between sound and space, it draws and plays the score of a sometimes uneasy dream simultaneously.

Search | Add | 4 | Normal Ones | Since 2006, Normal Ones have sought to find a unique approach when presenting their music, which they believe is best experienced in a live context. Their visceral, emotive live electronic compositions span many musical territories stretching from dark and melodic electro to full-spectrum spatial ambience and further influenced by punk, dub, new wave, horror soundtracks, jazz, industrial and more. Each Normal Ones live performance is presented from the heart with every intention to help elevate and inspire the spirit of anyone who cares to observe and listen. Pretension is consciously set aside so that they may be a conduit of something greater than themselves. This is ultimately the special ingredient that sets their music apart from many others in the electronic music world and beyond.

Search | Add | 4 | Caroline Fassie | Caroline also had a stint on one of South Africa's earliest talent shows, Shell Road To Fame. Yeah we just took it way back there. Besides her presenting, Caroline was also known for her long braids that covered one side of her face. We vividly remember a rumour that claimed that Caroline covered her one side because she only had one ear. Hilarious! After her Selimathunzi stint it seemed like Caroline Fassie disappeared from the entertainment industry for good, it was later on revealed that she worked at the SABC’s music department for a while. Caroline Fassie was also the niece of the late Brenda Fassie. It was always a treat to see how well they both gelled on TV whenever Brenda Fassie appeared on Selimathunzi. Apparently, Caroline Fassie also dabbled in music back in the 80s. One of her famous singles was called Tough Enough. Here's the vinyl cover below.

The goal of the band was to create a sound that was hard, but different from what they had done before. They didn't want to rest on their laurels and success of previous projects. Instead they chose to push their boundaries and not concern themselves with fitting into hardcore or punk. The result is a heavy, unique blend of musical influences that swells, jerks and drives at you like it wants a piece.
