Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Diana Johns | Lillian Uttal | From "The New York Times," 24 October 1947, page 25: Lillian Uttal Found Dead In Hotel Room - "Lillian Uttal, 44 years old, freelance and lyric writer under the name of Diana Johns, was found dead in her room in the Woodward Hotel, 210 West Fifty-fifth Street, yesterday afternoon. She apparently was a suicide, the police said." "The Daily News" of New York, New York, 24 October 1947, page B58 wrote that "four empty sleeping-pill bottles were near her body. Police, listing the case as an apparent suicide, said she left a note which read: 'Dear Lord, forgive me as I never could make myself behave.'" Under her given name, she seems to have appeared in a two-reel comedy film in 1924 titled "Shattered Faith" with co-stars Lillian Kemble, Rudolph Camerson, and J. Frank Glendon, directed by Jesse J. Ormont. From "Variety," the weekly entertainment trade magazine, vol. 154, no. 13, 7 June 1944 - "Field publishing a book of bedside verse, to be entitled 'Pin-up Poems,' by Diana Johns, night-club singer, who writes her own comedy songs." Lillian's brother [a4179963] was an announcer who joined CBS Radio in 1931, working at radio stations such as WOR and WJZ in New York and acting as a master of ceremonies for several early television shows. |

Annie Q (from Devon), when not trying to find out what noises a milk bottle can make, plays flute, sax and clarinet and creates wistfully twisted lyrics. Glenda Pescado (from West Wales), if not playing the bass, loves to manipulate noise and mess with off-centred and otherwise effected records as well as heavily-treated, sampled and looped guitars and such like. You may also know him by psyche-rock band SENDELICA. Nick Danger (from Surrey) is essentially a drummer who thinks the whole world is a drum kit; but he also likes to explore other sounds, usually invovling the unlikely juxtapostion of household objects and can often be seen with his trusty dictaphone in hand. And will whitney (from Devon) likes to hit things with varying degrees of violence: sometimes suspended gearbox housings but often just a guitar or a keyboard. They come together once or twice a year to play and record as THE SURF MESSENGERS. They've been playing together as this combo for over 10 years now and have an understanding that allows them to improvise creatively in many different set-ups: sometimes as a straight beat combo; sometimes as a experimental cell; but, more often than not, as a combination of these. What you can be sure of is, whatever instrumentation they choose to use, whether it be regular or radical, the resulting music is always interesting, frequently challenging, sometimes darkly humourous and often extremely beautiful. And all the music is created without prior discussion. Most of TSM recordings are rare self-produced CDR's which can be ordered through their own C IS FOR DOG RECORDS. |

Search | Add | 3 | Bill Puka | From Columbia Records' INSIGHT Magazine: Bill Puka (rhymes with “hook-ah”) is spending most of his time these days at Harvard University, where he is writing his Ph.D. thesis and teaching in the philosophy department. Hardly what you’d call a run-of-the-mill academician either; he seems more at home on the streets of Brooklyn where he grew up than in the halls of higher learning. Up until a year ago, when Bill walked into April & Blackwood hoping to sell a couple of songs, he had never thought of himself as a performer, but since then he has been attracting the attention of an ever-widening circle of “old pros” with his many talents. He has been approached to write Broadway shows and major TV commercials; the Fifth Dimension are recording one of his songs, and cover versions of many others are in the works. All indications are that Bill Puka is one of the major discoveries of the decade. His first album on Columbia, entitled simply “Bill Puka,’” was four months in the making and is one of the most sophisticated albums in pop music today. It’s appeal, however, is universal; “Sunshine Days” and “Nothing at All” are potential Top 40 hits, “Barbara Knows” and “She's Just That Way” are due for strong MOR airplay, and “Dry Spell,” “City Nights” and “Selling Yourself Out’ are destined to become underground classics. ‘Beautiful Bird” is a perfect one-minute gem in anybody’s bag. Be prepared for a great awakening. Bill Puka is one of the real ground-breaking new talents of the seventies. —Ed Freeman

Search | Add | 3 | Mysterell | Rock group from Italy. mysterell Welcome to Mr. Mysterell … In 1997 and 1998 the danish AOR group Pangea released the albums “The First” & “Manchild”. Two albums in the AOR vein with a heavy touch. No doubt that the guitarist and leadsinger from this group Torben Lysholm had a unique voice and his talent on the guitar is among the best. The group had a great success in Japan, and in the beginning of 2000 they re-formed the group with new members and went into the studio to records songs to their 3rd album. The 3rd album has been recorded, but currently it hasnt´t been signed to any label yet, and Pangea is also adding a new frontman to the group, after Torben Lysholm decided to work with his own project called “Mysterell”. With Mysterell Torben Lysholm heads more at the musicstyle that we knows from legendary AOR bands such as Giant etc. Great AOR music with touch of west coast. Late 2004 the italian label Frontiers Records signed the project and now the album is released. This album has many highlights and the opening song “Don´t Ever Stop” take you to a music trip that don´t stop at all, with well written songs and a production that is handled great by Mr. Mysterell. Beside his solocareer Torben Lysholm is also working as a producer and songwriter, and in 2005 there will be some interesting project from his side.

Search | Add | 3 | Oriana Maria | Anamaria Valle | Sometime after the end of her marriage and musical partnership with Marcos Valle, Anamaria Valle moved back to Brazil. In the beginning of 1970's, her musical taste had change, and she was no longer interested in the kind of music she did with Valle, Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '65, and Walter Wanderly Set. For instance, a report of the newspaper Correio da Manhã (Rio de Janeiro) from April 14, 1970, says that she would return in September that year to the United States, in order to sing for Blood, Sweat & Tears during a tour across American universities. During 1972 and 1973, still using Anamaria Valle as her artistic name, she sung for Rock Ebó, a band in the same vein of Novos Baianos that included Perinho Santana (later a member of “A Cor do Som”, which also backed artists such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Tim Maia, Doces Bárbaros, Gal Costa, Marisa Monte, and Jards Macalé) on guitars, Luciano on bass, Paulinho Camafeu on percussion and Carleba (the original drummer for “Os Panteras”, the backing band of Raul Seixas in the early days of his carrer) on drums. It was her first psychedelic rock band. After Rock Ebó ended in 1973, she decided to relaunch her musical career as “Oriana Maria”. Between September, 1973, and June, 1974, she travelled to Argentina, in order to record songs and to offer them to Record Companies. In those record sections, she was helped by Billy Bond and the musicians of “La Pesada”. She even recorded a Portuguese version of Manal’s classic “Jugo de Tomate”. She pressed a very small quantity of 7” EPs with three songs of those sections, titled Arembip I (allusive to the hippie community of Arembepe, located in Bahia, Brazil, where she lived). In October, 1974, a short story about her career moment was published on the Brazilian magazine “O Cruzeiro”. Although every effort was made to sign a contract with a Record Company, she did not make it. Still in 1978, it was possible to find reports on newspapers about her concerts under the alias of Oriana Maria. |

Search | Add | 3 | Dutch Falconi Orchestra | The Manhattan Transfer on Acid... That was probably the best of the many attempts to describe Dutch Falconi and his Twisted Orchestra. One of Sacramento's most successful and popular bands in the 1990s, DF offered a high-impact blend of Vegas style showmanship (Louis Prima was a favorite), Bertolt Brecht theatrics (Dutch's influence) and any fun wacky thing band members could throw in the mix (the Penis Guillotine was a fan favorite). The music was all over the map, but always unmistakably Dutch Falconi, with over a hundred original tunes and arrangements in the book when the band called it quits year 2000.

Search | Add | 3 | Thrush Holmes | Thrush Holmes is an artist based in Toronto, entirely self-taught in painting and mixed media. His work is spontaneous and experimental, spanning imagery from reclining nudes, matisse-like flowers, and poetic landscapes that contrast with a punk sensibility. Holmes’ paintings are made contemporary by their varied and inventive use of materials (spray paint, neon light, driveway sealant and oil stick), which elevate an aggressive exploration of romance and mythology. Holmes previous solo exhibitions include PULSE MIAMI courtesy of BEERS, London (2016) Heavy Panting and More at the Mike Weiss Gallery, New York (2014); VOLTA NY courtesy of Mike Weiss Gallery, New York; and group exhibitions such as What’s Up 2.0 curated by Lawrence Van Hagen, BEERS London (2016). His work is found in permanent collections worldwide including the Elton John Aids Foundation, Sony Music, Dreamworks Studio, and Def Jam Records among others.

Search | Add | 3 | Mulga Bill's Bicycle Band | Mulga Bill’s Bicycle Band was perhaps the earliest, large, full time, Australian ‘folk revival’ band ("Mulga Bill's Bicycle" is a poem written in 1896 by Banjo Paterson in 1896). It began in 1970 as an offshoot of The University of Melbourne Folk Club and played first as a nine-person group in Swan Hill, Victoria in August 1970. Most members of the initial band were at that time students at the university. Over the full course of the band’s operation between 1970 and 1978, a total 20 members were at some stage part of the band. Only three original members: Tony Britz, Liz Eager and Barry Golding were there at the start and also at the end.

Search | Add | 3 | Bob Livorio | A favorite radio show of Pittsburghers for 36 years was the “Saturday Morning Listening Habit” that was hosted by Bob Livorio on WKPA. Beginning on the air in the late 1950's Livorio was one of the first Pittsburgh area DJs to play R&B and "Doo Wop" which was then categorized as "race music".' "Of the hundreds of radio personalities who have passed through the Pittsburgh market in 85 years of radio, few make an impact, The Valley has in Bob Livorio at least one of a handful of radio legends that shaped the way we grew up listening to the radio - as a companion, a friend." Ron Antill WISH program director (Tribune Review Interview 2005) Livorio's show was so popular in 1961 that students from three high schools demanded Kennywood Park to play Bob's show over the park's loud speakers. They did not want to miss Bob's show while they were at their school picnics. Bob Livorio went on the air for the first time 1957. Radio and music were his passions. Bob moonlighted as a radio DJ on WKPA for three hours each Saturday morning. He worked full time as an advertising salesman for the New Kensington, Pa newspaper the Daily Dispatch . Bob played a mix of rock and ballads on his programs. "Psycho" by the Sonics and "Surfer Joe"/"Wipeout" by the Surfaris were two garage rock classics that he introduced on his show. Among his favorite ballads were I Only Have Eyes For You" by the Flamingos, "Forever" by the Marvelettes, and "Angel Baby" by Rosie & the Originals. Tommy James credits Bob as one of the DJs who broke the hit single Hanky Panky. Lovorio also supported the music of Pittsburgh artists. During the British Invasion years in the early 1960s he played the recordings of the Fenways, the Arondales, the Racket Squad, the Skyliners, and the Vogues. A WKPA advertisement highlighted the sounds of the Bob Livorio Show listing the songs High on a Hill, 69, Every Day's a Holiday, Please Love Me Forever, Stop Pretending, Lover's Island, and more. Listeners sent Bob hundreds of request letters each week. On Friday nights Bob gathered his wife and children in his living room. Together they read and sorted the requests. Bob picked his playlist forms from the requests and read the requestor's names on the air on Saturdays. Bob dedicated songs to his listeners. On weekend nights Lovorio spun records for his teenage fans at dances at Henry's in Tarentum, the New Kensington YMCA , the Birdville Fire Hall in Natrona Heights, and school sock hops.

Search | Add | 3 | Private Numbers | In July 1984, Danny Kristensen, Rick Richards, Doug Hines, and Bruce Moody began formulating ideas for a new band. But the first order of business was to play out the last couple of Walkee Talkee gigs that were still booked. A few months later, the band had just chosen its new name; Private Numbers. The name came about one day at rehearsal at Rick Richards’ house. Rick’s young kids had those colorful magnetic letters that stick to metal and they were all over the family refrigerator. During our breaks, one or two of us would go over to the fridge and try to come up with a band name. One of the names that we liked was Numbers. A few days of staring at that name inspired one of us to add the word Private in front of Numbers and that’s how our new band name came about. |
