Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 12 | James Kimbrough | Born in 1926, on a cotton farm near Florence, Alabama, USA. He was attracted to country music by recordings he heard as a child, first by the Carter Family and then in the late 30s, the recordings of Roy Acuff. He was particularly drawn to the sound of the dobro on Acuff’s recordings and was totally impressed by the playing of Pete Kirby. During service in the US Navy during World War II, Kimbrough met Kirby and bought one of his old dobro guitars. He recalled years later that ‘By the time I got it, it was the most beat up dobro you ever saw but it still had the sound and I was the happiest person in the world’. After the war, Kimbrough returned to the farm and although he never became a full time musician, he played and sang with various groups. A dedicated traditionalist, his Vocals work was reminiscent of Acuff’s. He also wrote many songs such as the biographical ‘Sundown At Our Old Home Place’ and dobro instrumentals but did not record until 1973. During the 80s, he formed his own Kimbro Records and also had releases on Cattle, a German label.

Search | Add | 12 | نعيمة المصرية | زينب محمد إدريس | Na'ima al-Misriyya [Naima the Egyptian] (1894 in Cairo - 1976) was an Egyptian singer, also called "The Queen of Records." Na'ima was married at age 15 and became a mother at 16. Her dream was, however, to make a career as a singer. With the help of a Syrian neighbor, she fled to Aleppo in Northern Syria in 1911. There, she trained with the singer Rahlo Jarada (رحلو جرادة) and began singing professionally. In 1914, she returned to Cairo and became a huge star. [a=Sayed Darwish] taught her to play the oud and wrote numerous hit songs for her. In 1922, she opened her own night club, Theatre Al-Hambra. Na'ima sang both patriotic and love songs. She recorded more than 150 titles for labels such as [l=Baidaphon], [l=Fabrik Setrak Mechian Caire], [l=Homochord], [l=Odeon], [l=Pathé], and [l=Polyphon Musik] and became known as "The Queen of Records." The birth of Egyptian radio in 1934 and the censorship it introduced brought Na'ima's career to a halt. Her more risqué love songs were no longer tolerated. She retired from singing in 1937, at age 43. |

Search | Add | 12 | The Mid-States 4 | The Mid-States Four is the Barbershop Harmony Society's 1949 International Quartet Champion. First formed in 1942 as the Bell & Howell 4 with George Kledzik on tenor, Marty Mendro on lead, Forest “Forry” Haynes on baritone, and Bob Corbett on bass. The group changed their name to “Mid-States 4” when they left Bell & Howell and went to work for Mid-State Insurance and they sponsored the quartet. They competed in their first international contest in 1945 and placed 6th, they repeated as 6th place in 1946. That same year they won the Illinois District championship. Following that contest, Bob Rodriguez (later known as Bob Mack) replaced George Kledzik as tenor. In 1947, Arthur “Art” Gracey joined them as bass replacing Bob Corbett who was forced to leave due to job demands. They were 3rd place bronze medalists in 1947 and 2nd place silver medalists in 1948. They won it all in 1949 in Buffalo, NY. Following their victory in 1949 they went on to travel the country singing for hundreds of thousands of people. In 1950, the Mid-States 4 traveled to Korea for the U.S. troops singing 33 shows in 13 days. The Mid-States 4 went on to become well known for their slapstick comedy on stage and using musical instruments with their barbershop singing. They released three albums during their time together. In late 1957, Marty Mendro dropped out of the quartet due to job commitments and was replaced by Dick Mangunson for a short period of time until he returned around 1959. The Mid-States 4 retired in 1966 after 24 years of singing together. Mendro relocated to Arizona and Mack and Haynes relocated to Florida. They had a few reunions in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Art Gracey died in 1979. In 1982, Marty Mendro relocated to Florida and he, Bob Mack, and Forry Haynes decided to get the Mid-States 4 back together with Phil Hansen replacing the late Art Gracey as bass. They actively sang together on shows again until the spring of 1988 when Bob Mack died. Their final performance was in July of 1988 on the 1988 AIC Show in San Antonio, TX with Don Barnick of Grandma’s Boys and Keepsake filling in on tenor. Marty Mendro died in 2010, Phil Hansen died in 2012, and Forry Haynes died in 2014.

Worked in marketing for Hispavox since late 1960s (managed [l1053227] sublabel), later in Ariola and since 1983 in Virgin Spain until his dead.

Search | Add | 12 | Dagashi Kashi | 駄菓子菓子 | The band was formed in 1997, as a new wave duo first called "Squash" (ぐにゃり). The members where Mera-Dono on vocals / bass and E.Shima Terushige on guitar / synth. The next year, they start to doing some hard rock music and rennamed themselves "Dagashi Kashi" (駄菓子菓子), with in bonus new members. As long as the year was going, they lose all the new members. They only found a new drummer in 1999, but it's in 2000 that the bassist Sakaidesan discover the band (and became part of it) and also introduce Dagashi Kashi to his label: "Hormone Tank Record". They also released their first album "Botai Nai Sekai" (母胎内世界). Even if the line-up staid unstable, they could release their second reccord, "Jingaikyou No Heya" (人外境の部屋) in 2002. In the same year, they been asked to be part of the compilation "Ugou no Shuu" (烏合の衆), with several other japanese punk-rock bands. In 2003, they even tour into the USA. The two former members decided to create an alter-ego to the band with their new-wave concept. The duo was called "Katakata 16 Fun" (カタカタ16分). They also released their third record "Kokoro Mushi" (こころむし). In 2004, the label "Satsugai Enka Vinyl" (that made the "Ugou no Shuu" (烏合の衆) compilation) decided to made a remix album of a couple of songs from the band. It was called "Dagui" (駄喰). In 2006, E.Shima Terushige, one of the founder of the band quit, leaving the band in mourning. They finally released another album in 2007, called "Amida Kudi" (阿弥陀くぢ), with the same spirit than their first album, even if we thought his spirit has died with the years: their old school side is stronger than the time ! Then, the shows were rares and they didn't release anything since 2010, when Mera-Dono released her first solo single. The sells of the album give back the taste to the band to come up with a fifth album: "Bonnou Go Dan Katsuyou" (煩悩五段活用). They made a hommage show to "新宿LOFT", a guitarist of session of the band that died. Then, the line-up changed a lot with the time, so the band had decided to record nothing since they will be stabilized. |

In 1997 Bradley G established "Eastside Studios" with partner, House music producer and DJ Colin Russell, in a new purpose built complex above the popular nightclub "Harlequins" in Ilford, east London. The Harlequins nightclub is rumoured to be one of the places where the popular UK music genre "Garage music" is thought to have originated.[citation needed] Eastside ran until 1998 when Bradley G formed FTD Records and built the "Skylight Studios" with Tony Ruby in the same building complex. In late 1999 the "Skylight Studios" moved to a converted house in East London, renamed "The Attic" and ran for a further three years. In 2002, "The Attic" moved to its final location, "Ferry Lane" Studios in Rainham, Essex. Bradley G’s most successful release was “Sweetheart”, released on Valentine’s day (Feb 14th) 2001 This track was number 1 in the garage charts for 11 weeks . The record was distributed by FTD Records in association with the then popular pirate radio station Erotic 101.3FM. In late 2002, nearly a year after release Bradley G issued a repress of "Sweetheart" limited to 1,000 copies. These final copies were numbered FTD0001 – FTD1001 and sold out within one hour of going to market. Bradley G also performed a UK tour of Sweetheart with Jennifer O’Kane and MC Sel at the height of the tracks fame. In March, April and May 2001 they performed in excess of 100 live PA’s at many UK & worldwide club venues. Bradley G finally left UK Garage in 2004 and went on to produce a mainstream band lead by Charlotte Jackson at Ferry Lane Studios. Bradley dismissed Charlotte and the project after a lengthy argument with third party publishing company who refused to allow the use of a song they had already recorded. In 2013 Bradley decided to start up his own franchise of https://www.greenssteakhouse.com/ where he is also executive chef. |

Abel served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army and was based at Fort Leonard Wood. During his time in the U.S. Army, Abel played trombone and baritone horn in the 315th Army Band. The duo played faithfully at local Kansas City venues such as the Horseshoe Lounge, the Plaza III Restaurant, Putsch’s 210 and the Strawberry Patch as well as national venues such as the Ember’s in New York, Mr. Kelly’s in Chicago and the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas. During their years together they also released several recordings. On February 28, 1977, Bettye Miller died of cancer at age 49. After the passing of his first wife, Abel continued his musical career as a bassist in Kansas City. He played with several groups in the city such as the Kansas City Jazz Quintet, the Frank Smith Trio, the Pete Eye Trio, as well as engagements with Bettye’s daughter, [a=Betty Jo Miller]. In 1986, Abel formed the Milt Abel Trio, performing at such Kansas City establishments as the Alameda Plaza Rooftop Lounge, Westin Crown Center Signboard Bar, and the Allis Plaza Hotel 12th Street Room. Search | Add | 12 | Fei Xiang | Kris Phillips | Kris Phillips was born in Taiwan in 1960. His father was an American diplomat and his mother a writer. He was first accepted by Stanford on full scholarship but dropped out after a year. He moved to New York in order to pursue a career in theater. He went to American Dramatic Arts Academy in New York and graduated in 1980. He made 3 movies in Taiwan in the early 1980s, but, at the same time, his singing career took off in a much bigger way. Kris made 13 records in Asia from 1981 to 1989, and every one of them was a best seller. In 1987, because of his American citizenship, he became the first performer from Taiwan to perform in mainland China's New Year's Eve variety show. It was an overnight success, and Kris dominated China's pop music for the next 3 years. He made 5 records in China between 1987 and 1989. Kris moved to New York in 1990 and was in the original Broadway cast of Miss Saigon. He also appeared in a few other Broadway musicals and plays between 1990 and 1995, but none of them was particularly successful. In 1995, he joined Andrew Lloyd Webber's touring company, costarring Sarah Brightman, in Webber's The Music of Night concert. The concert started in New York's Radio City Music Hall and then toured 43 cities in the US. The same concert was moved to Beijing in September 2001, with Elaine Paige replacing Brightman. It was the first time Broadway musical being introduced to mainland China. Kris Phillips also made a big comeback as a recording artist in Asia in 2000. He made two records in 2000 and 2002. He still is one of the highest paid stars in Asia today. Although he works extensively in Asia, Kris keeps an apartment in New York and considers himself a New Yorker. |

His talent behind the decks, spinning records, as well as making them, is central to his rising profile, since his first days playing as a youngster in legendary club Industria in Belgrade. Soon as his musical vision got certain shape, Shoxy was releasing music for some of the most known electronic labels across the globe. His Discogs discography profile is stacked with amazing and different records, mostly on vinyl. In the last several years he is playing all across the world, major festivals and events. In constant search for a perfect beat, Shoxy can play from chillest music, house to stormy Techno sound which is still his favorite field for experimentation. He loves seeing people dancing in any occasion, big festival or a club. With tours into other genres, Shoxy explores boundaries of Electronic music even today, and his every new release has a story to tell, authentic like so many of his closest cohorts. Beside being very skilled music producer, Shoxy is a music nerd at heart, digging for music everywhere, in second hand vinyl shops across the world and making his own special gems to play. A simple desire to have fun seems to define Shoxy.
