Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Six years later he joined the group Arco Iris, where he sang Roberto Carlos songs. In 1977, after taking part in the armed struggle in Moxico, he was forced to take refuge in Zambia with his family, and then moved to Portugal, where he recorded two albums: Memórias (1980) and Cá e Lá (1985). With this last album, he reached number one in the Angolan charts due to the success of the theme "Any, Any" aka "Olha a bunda dela".

Search | Add | 4 | Vinnie Vin | During the pop-rap boom of the late '80s/early '90s, Vinnie Vin had a brief run at the spotlight before dropping out of the music industry. Vin had a breezy approach to hip-hop, rapping about girls and parents with a likable, profanity-free personality. After signing to Starway in 1990, he cut The Show Must Go On with producer Charles "Poogie" Bell. The record made little impact, and Vin dropped out of the hip-hop scene soon after.

Search | Add | 4 | Debbie Whitten | Debbie Whitten | Debbie Whitten was born in the same maternity home as Japan's David Sylvian in David Bowie's Beckenham stamping ground, and grew up in a household heaving with the sounds of Swing, Frank Sinatra and 1950s rock'n'roll. Debbie cut her teeth as a singer during the 1990s with London combos The Tax Band, Blazing Saddles and Cryin' Shame, performing at many of the capital's top venues, including the Hilton, Marriott and Grosvenor Hotels, the Cafe Royal, the Mermaid Theatre, the City Golf Club and Old Billingsgate premier event space. While she recorded little during this period, in 1995 she did cut three tracks with Derek Tennent's Tax Band at Terminal Studios, sometime haunt of the embryonic Gallagher brothers. In 1999 Debbie was invited to record some demos with producer Steve Hill at his Hampstead studios, but these did not see the light of day immediately. In 2007 South London label Radi Records released her sparkling debut album "Autumn Leaves", once again helmed by Steve Hill and recorded at Oxfordshire's Woodworm Studios, sometime home of Fairport Convention. The set comprised a raft of classic new material along with remastered versions of the three Terminal Studios cuts. A seven-track EP, also entitled "Autumn Leaves", was issued at the same time, followed closely by "Hampstead '99", which gathered the previously unreleased demos from the Hampstead Studios sessions. In 2018 Radi released the EP "6-Track Demo: London 95/98-99" which paired the three Tax Band tracks with three of the Hampstead recordings. The pairing of these two albums and EPs are the perfect showcase for Debbie's vocal mastery of both powerful r&b and sensitive, heart-wrenching ballads. |

Search | Add | 4 | Israel Fichman | Israel Fichman | Israel Fichman, was and still known because of a special small underground record shop in Bat-Yam called "Gingi Records" (which was originally started as a photography shop). In the early 90's, Trance and Techno music couldn't be found around Israel, expect 3 shops (2 other were in Tel Aviv), which brought this kind of stuff. The whole Israeli Trance scene was actually started in these places, where DJ's who came to get the usual 12" for their sets, could get these new sounds, which could be heard elsewhere. In fact, the first Israeli Trance compilation - "Trance Mix" was released on his home label called BMI, later changed to Melodia. Israel "Gingi" Fichman has passed away in November 2010 because of cardiac arrest. Hebrew: ישראל פיכמן |

Search | Add | 4 | Counterfeit Jeans | Counterfeit Jeans formed in Edmonton in 2014. Within a year they released a four-track EP garnering positive reviews across Canada and in the US, leading to a string of shows and festival dates in their first year as a band. Their music is melodic, with serpentine guitar lines married to a driving rhythm section. This all results in a massive sound that you’d be shocked to know is made by only a group of three. Named one of Edmonton’s hidden gem bands by CBC in 2015; popping up on the “Best of 2015” lists by the Edmonton Journal, Cups n’ Cakes podcast, and Harder Harmonies podcast; and receiving two 2016 Edmonton Music Award nominations for Indie Rock Recording of the Year and Artist to Watch, the young band has already become well-known in the independent music scene. Counterfeit Jeans released their debut LP in Canada through Edmonton indie label, Sometimes Music on July 1, 2016 and in the United States through Brooklyn indie label, Broken Circles on Aug. 5, 2016. The album received positive reviews in the United States, Europe and Canada. Counterfeit Jeans’ LP spent more than 17 weeks on Canadian campus charts nation-wide and placed in the national campus top 50 charts. Counterfeit Jeans was the first artist to appear on CKUA radio/Capital City Records podcast that highlights Edmonton-area music as well.

He released his own track on the same label called Dark Side in 2008 and many more tracks with Der Hut (Germany), Shufflemood (Argentina), Frequenza Records (Italy) and other labels around the globe. Since then he's been DJing in clubs and on the festivals, studying music genres, history and spending most of his time working in the studio. In 2010 he released his first and immediately controversial LP album - 'The Suicide' on Dirty Stuff Rec. and another ambient self-released 'Water under dream'. In 2011 he was chosen by the Kluboterapia Awards as one of the top 5 Polish Artists. When he was 17, he dropped out of school to move to Berlin. It was a turning point for Oskar, finding new inspiration, meeting new people, partying every weekend and working on music and touring with UK producer, A Guy Called Gerald. Since then he started to focus on performing his own music with 2 laptops and singing live. He visited many countries around the world, in 2013 he's been touring in Japan with A Guy Called Gerald and had several gigs in Russia and Europe. Oskar finally decided to cast off the Burnside moniker and work as Oskar Szafraniec. Since 2014 he brings more instruments on the stage as he's performing with Roland Aira machines, midi controllers, microphones and laptop. He is very inspired by the people he meets, open minded, curious about different cultural perspectives and that's how he developed his personal, unique sound. |

ALPHA SEQUENZ must be seen as an analog lab . Sometimes exclusively influenced by the Coldwave instrumentation ( Bass/Guitar/Voice/Synth ) and sometimes strictly regarded as an experimental Minimal Electronik act ( Drum Machine/Synth ). Depends on the releases & moods in action. But, there is always a sort of sensible source of diverse avant-gardist influences. Romantic, Nihilistic, Nostalgic, Hurted, Desesperate music at once.

К. Аедоницкого: "Васильки" "Песни рождаются сами" Инструментальные композиции: "For The Rest OF My Life" "Monday Night" "А снег идёт" (фантазия на тему песни А.

As his writing became more intricate and experimental, and less to the formula of songwriting, he soon found a new intriguing unknown where he could further grow, Poetry Slamming. This soon lead to the National Poetry Slam state finals, numerous other slam wins and frequent invitations to perform at spoken word events. He is now a well respected something or other in a world where they probably don't even know he makes music. During this flourish of word nerding, he quietly penciled in all nighters and disgusting amounts of persistance to experiment, study and learn the art of Beatmaking, Sampling and Production. For the love of all things soul intertwining and expressive. |

Search | Add | 4 | KUT Goldcard | Katsuyuki Hosoda | Japanese House DJ/producer from Tokyo. Kut started out in Tokyo spinning parties around 1989. Soon he purchased his first sampler and began making tracks on his own in the early 90's. Shortly thereafter, he quit DJing in favor of production. From 1994-1998 he spent time in various US cities. He absorbed the vibes and techniques there from many US studios including NY's D&D Studios. After coming back to Japan, Kut dropped out of production for a few years. This didn't last long as the music called him back. [l=Elephanthaus]/[l=Real Estate Records] owner [a=Tim Baker] discovered Kut and signed him for 3 EP's. Unlike many Japanese artists, Kut soon aimed to focus on the international game. New York's [l=4th Floor Records] quickly signed him for "Kut Presents Hot for Love". These disco flavored cuts quickly found their way into playlists, charts and record bags of many DJ's all over the world. At the same time, Kut started focusing on Europe and was immediately picked up for several EP's and put on remix duty on such labels as [l=Bush] (UK) and [l=Oxyd Records] (Italy). Delving headfirst in a new direction (Techno and Tech-House) Kut's remix for [a=DJ Kruze]'s "Let Me In" on [l=Bush] ended up on [a=Carl Cox]'s Live 2nd Session – Area 2, Detroit. His 2003 R.I.C.H. EP on the US's biggest Tech-House label [l=Big Chief] rocked clubs internationally and was bagged and charted by a myriad of high profile DJ's over the world. In 2004, [a=Seishi Ono] & [a=Kut Goldcard]'s Plug 1 EP was cained by hundreds of DJ's including [a=Carl Cox]. 2005 saw remixes on [l=Toolroom Trax] (UK) and [l=Brickhouse] (Germany). Recently he was signed to United Nation of House on [l=C2 Records (UK) / CR2 Records (UK)]. |

He is considered by many to be the greatest Muay Thai boxer of all time, becoming a world champion in both Muay thai and in Boxing. Between his two stints as boxing champion, Samart signed with a Grammy winning label and released three albums. They are pop music but with his upcountry accent ('"Ner" เหน่อ) as opposed to central Thailand accent. His first album, Peedongmembur. (ร็อคเหน่อๆ) in 1989, contains a famous song On Som (อ่อนซ้อม - not enough practice) talking about him being very proficient in boxing but lacking the same aptitude at getting love from women. His second and third album, Arom Dee (อารมณ์ดี) and Kun Mai Kun Mike (คันไม้คันไมค์) followed in 1990 and 1992 with famous songs Nam Plik Pla Too (น้ำพริกปลาทู) and Kao Ao Eng (เกาเอาเอง) respectively.[1] After the three albums, he went back to boxing. |

Search | Add | 4 | Self Torture | Hardcore/Death Metal band from Ankara, Turkey. Split-up in 2012. The Ankara/Turkey based Selftorture has been an island representing a bridge between the realms of hardcore and death-metal in their home country for 10 years now. Through determination and steady progress the band has managed to combine and blend their influences to suit their evolving musical direction within the two genres. Listeners are offered a thunderous sound resembling a whirling storm of aggression sweeping up and down the Eastern Coast of North America with the band’s unique elements bolting through. Their straight forward and sometimes poetic to sarcastic lyrics are aimed directly at the developing individual ready to question themselves and the surrounding others giving no voice to anything that falls under any ideology. To experience them live is an experience all its own, intensifying what they’ve already offered on record – neck breaking grinding speed to heavy low hitting breakdowns that flow back to back. As a result of their productiveness and solid performances through the years, Selftorture has earned and remained a very familiar name in Turkey’s deep extreme underground. The decision of putting together Selftorture was made in early ‘99 and by the end of year the band had enough songs to play small sets only as a project band, due to the fact that each member was already involved in other fulltime bands (ranging from thrash, hardcore, death-metal,and black-metal). However, once they played their first official show in 2000,the interest and positive feedback they received turned the band into afulltime band immediately. The band moved on to playing more club venues and festivals nationally [Rock The Nations Open Air Festival: Caliban, Cenotaph(TR), Amon Amarth, etc… / Rock Republic Open Air Fest: Slayer, In Flames, Sick Of It All,etc...] and record three releases: “Mislead” EP/2002 (Zoo Sound); “Person-A”FL/2004 (Zoo Sound); “Dead Center” FL/2006 (Anger Epidemic). 2006 was a major turning point for the group. The rhythm section parted ways leaving front man Mehmet and guitarist Cenker the responsibility to refocus and continue the band that was now their center of attention. They wrote new material while in search for new members and a record label. Early in this process close friend Semih Ornek stepped up to fill the drummer position full time. The trio started practicing and fine tuning the songs. After observing their progress at a jam session the representatives of the label Anger Epidemic Records approached the band with an offer. The band was honored by Anger’s close interest and agreed to cooperate almost immediately. Once the tracks of the 3rd legal release were finished the band approached long time friend and supporter Engin Kamarot to complete the lineup. Since then, Selftorture has continued to play shows and complete their 4th effort entitled “Tried and True”. They have not come to an agreement with a new label yet so no release has not been confirmed. The band plans to keep playing local and national shows with the intention of making some tours abroad a reality..... Recent Line Up: Mehmet Stevenson: Vocals Cenker Yılmaz: Guitars Engin Kamarot: Bass Semih Örnek: Drums

Search | Add | 4 | Fritz Vogelstrom | Vogelstrom was born on November 4th, 1882 in Herford. He undertook is first small part at the age of 14 in Robert und Bertram (play with incidental music by Gustav Raeder) as "Schildwache" at the Herforder Stadttheater. In 1898, Vogelstrom joined a male quartet "Sänger von Finsterwalde". When performing with the group, he was heard by the director of the Hamburg opera who proposed him a contract. However, Vogelstrom was drafted at that time and instead of going to Hamburg, he went to Hannover. Vogelstrom had an accident and was released from service. He joined another quartet "Rheinisches Männerquartett" in Mannheim. The director of the Mannheim opera, August Bassermann, heard him and asked him to audition. His audition was on November 23rd, 1903 and as a result, he got a five year contract. His first parts in Mannheim were Max, Tamino, Alessandro Stradella and the Seaman (Tristan und Isolde). The number one heldentenor of the Mannheim Opera Friedrich Carlén died, and that was Vogelstrom's big break. He added Lohengrin, Stolzing, Siegfried, Tristan to his repertory. For his last performance in Mannhein, Vogelstrom choosed Pedro. In 1912, Vogelstrom went on to Dresden. He was warmly welcomed in Dresden because their three heldentenors Burian, von Bary and Sembach where not able to sing for different reasons. He made his debut in Dresden as Max. There, Vogelstrom added Bacchus, Hans Kraft (Bärenhäuter), Kaiser, Gomella (Sonnenflammen) and a part in Hand und Herz to his repertory. He also added Tannhäuser, Parsifal, Canio and Turiddu (on the same evening, where he received 42 curtain calls), Herodes, Rienzi,..etc. Vogelstrom made many guest appearances, for example: 1908, he was in Dresden for the first time, before becoming a member of the troupe, replacing Burian in Tiefland, followed by Carmen and La bohème. 1909, Vogelstrom made his debut in Bayreuth as Froh on July 25th. He was supposed to sing Lohengrin, but intrigues behind the scene, by the wife of Bary, made sure he did not appear. However, Vogelstrom appeared as Parsifal on July 31st and August 8th. The same year, he also sang in Vienna. 1910 Berlin (Stolzing), 1911 Nürnberg (Stolzing), München (Stolzing), Essen (Lohengrin) 1912 Essen 1913 Hannover (Lohengrin), Bielefeld (Lohengrin), Nürnberg (Siegfried) 1922 Zoppot (Siegfried) Vogelstrom continued to sing in Dresden until 1928. He died on December 25th, 1963 in Köthen, after having lost all his properties in the bombing of Dresden where he lived during the war. Vogelstrom recorded for Gramophon, Odeon, Pathé, Vox, Homocord and Parlophon: a total of 125 sides.
