Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 9 Big Dan Starr Estle Don Linebarger Lead singer "Big Dan" Starr certainly had a colorful relationship with his own identity... The Dan Starr persona was one of many he used during his lifetime, including several variations of his birth name, Estle Don Linebarger (1937-2004). Mr. Linebarger was born in Missouri and as a teen he performed on local radio and played around in a hillbilly band called the Ozark String Dusters. Linebarger joined the Army in the late 'Fifties and played European gigs in a serviceman's band that included Tommy Cash, Johnny Cash's brother. (Or at least that's what he told the Orlando Sentinel when they profiled him in 1973). He started writing music as a teen, copyrighting at least one song in mid-'Fifties, and released a few singles between 1968-73, including a UFO conspiracy anthem ("Captain Tom Martell") and a patriotic song, "Bugle Boy," which he dedicated to Vietnam War-era POWs. At some point, he may have lived in Nashville, and in the late '60s was playing clubs around Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware. Around 1968, he led a group called the Rustlers, which he later changed to the Hometowners. Going by the name Starr, Mr. Linebarger eventually moved to Florida, establishing himself as a bandleader and television host, fronting a group known as the Hometowners USA.

Search Add 9 Marisa Solinas Marisa Anna Solinas Italian actress and singer born in Genoa on May 30, 1941 – 13 February 2019 Marisa Solinas – known under several pretty nicknames such as “The Pocket Venus of the Italian Cinema” and the “iron chick” – born in Genoa from a Tuscan mother and from a Sardinian father. Her passion for the opera and singing – that she has studied at the Carlo Felice in Genoa – together with the expressive beauty of a cover girl projected her very soon into the cinema world. Immortalized by the greatest international photographers for almost three hundred covers and an infinite number of the most important newspapers (among which, the foreign Paris Match, France-Soir, Jour de France, Daily News, Film und Frau, Primer Plano, Corriere Canadese, and the Italian Gente, Oggi, Epoca, Sorrisi e Canzoni, Il Giorno, Tempo, Il Borghese, La Domenica del Corriere, Confidenze, Playboy, etc.), her image, skillfully captured by Marquis Crispolti, has been also used for a very widespread "seal-stamp”. In 1973, Gina Lollobrigida choose her as "Italian Venus” for her photo book "Italia Mia". She has also posed for the great sculptor Francesco Messina, for a life-size bronze nude which has been exhibited in several international expositions. Cinema and theatre actress, she has played in more than 50 films for the cinema screen both in Italy and abroad, among which: "Boccaccio 70" (by Mario Monicelli; Festival Cannes '61), "La Commare Secca" (Pier Paolo Pasolini) by Bernardo Bertolucci (Festival Venice '62), "Noche De Verano" (Award of Festival Mar de la Plata '62) by Jorge Grau (with G. Maria Volonté, Francisco Rabal, Umberto Orsini), "Freddy, Tiere, Sensationen" (1965, with Freddy Quinn) by K. Vibak, "Buona Come Il Pane" (1966) by Edward Dein (director of Brando), "Padre Di Famiglia" (Festival Venice '67) by Nanni Loy (with Leslie Caron, Ugo Tognazzi and Nino Manfredi), "Riderà" (1967) by Bruno Corbucci (with Little Tony and Oreste Lionello), "Killer Adiòs" (1968) by Primo Zeglio, "Blind Man" (1971) by Ferdinando Baldi (with Ringo Starr), "L'Arbitro" (1972, with Lando Buzzanca and Joan Collins), "Ybris" (Festival Venice '83) by Gavino Ledda, "I Due Carabinieri" (1987) by and with Carlo Verdone (with Enrico Montesano), "Tutti Dentro" (1987) by and with Alberto Sordi, "L'Ombra Del Gigante" (Festival Berlin 2000) by Roberto Petrocchi, "Almost Blue" (Festival Cannes 2000) by Alex Infascelli. In '62, she was the only Italian actress selected by the great Lee Strasberg for a course of the "Actors Studio" in Italy. We remember her in the TV-films "Quo Vadis" (1987, with Karl Maria Brandauer, Frederic Forrest, Leopoldo Trieste) by Franco Rossi, "Tutti Gli Uomini Sono Uguali" (with Enzo Decaro and Maurizio Crozza) by Alessandro Capone, and the more recent "Lucia" (with Sabrina Ferilli) by Pasquale Pozzessere. Marisa Solinas is also known as professional singer, having started her career by recording for the most important record companies (EMI-Voce del Padrone, FONIT CETRA, RCA), with a repertoire ranging from the auteur Light Music to the operetta. She has singed with famous artists like Tony Renis, Adriano Celentano, Domenico Modugno, Gianni Morandi, Fausto Leali, Renato Zero, Edoardo Vianello, Pino Donaggio, Memo Remigi, Giorgio Gaber, Mal, Sacha Distel and her unforgettable bosom friend Luigi Tenco, who dedicated to her some songs, among which "Quando". In 1963 she interpreted pieces by some of the most important music authors all around the world such as Gilbert Becaud, who chose her as exclusive Italian interpreter of his two hits "Je T'Aime" and "Mon Arbre" for the EMI - Voce Del Padrone, J. Chavez ("Per Chi Sogna Annamaria"), Edoardo Vianello, Franco Califano, Nisa, Detto Mariano, Stelvio Cipriani, Giorgio Calabrese, Giacomo Dell'Orso, Giuseppe Cassia and Elvio Monti. From '66 to '72, she played in several music shows, among which, a recital with Mina in Vicenza, directed by Gianni Ferrio. During the opening of the broadcasting station "Tele Napoli", she sang Roberto Murolo’s songs together with their author. She was top of the charts with Elvio Monti’s piece "L'Estasi", sung together with Andrea Giordana. Furthermore she has performed in some of the most famous revenues all around the world, among which the ONU Palace (invited by Ruggero Orlando, who has also dedicated her a poem) in New York, the Skylon Room of the Niagara Falls in Canada, Caracas ("Renny Ottolina Show", with Sammy Davis and Djonne Warwick). In the television world she was launched (1959) as singer by Domenico Modugno. For the Rai she appeared as guest in "Alla Fiera del Mago Zurlì" (with Cino Tortorella and Johnny Dorelli), "Musicalissimo" (with Tony Dall'Ara) by and with Gino Bramieri, "Domenica In" (various editions, among which the ones by Corrado and the ones by Pippo Baudo), "Alle Nove della Sera" (show of Rai Uno by Maurizio Costanzo) together with Gianni Morandi, and "Musicrama" with Alida Valli. For Radio Uno, she has conducted for months the morning music programme "Il Topo di Discoteca", with all her songs. At the Bagaglino in Rome she was main interpreter in the show by Faele and Pingitore "Anche L'Occhio Vuole La Sua Partner", by executing a part of her own repertoire. At the Odeon in Milan she has sung within the recital "Il Dito Sulla...Mala" by Castellacci and Pingitore. She has interpreted several operettas among which "La Principessa della Czarda", "Cin-Ci-Là", "Il Paese Dei Campanelli", "Al Cavallino Bianco" and "Il Paese Del Sorriso" at the Teatro Cento in Ferrara, filmed by Rai for the television programme "Odeon" by Maurizio Costanzo.

They went on to form [a=Chicken Bowels] after leaving Plazma-X. Their drummer, Nobu is ex-自我 ([a=Jiga (2)]). The band's musical style shifted to speed metal (w/ punk influences) ~ heavy metal in their later years, released at least two demos in 1986 and 1987, and the now (super) hard-to-find 7" flexi "Masquerade" on the band's own label in 1988. Only a couple of hundred copies of them were made and sold locally. The band was active until 1990, but apparently played a reunion show in 2014, then another one in 2017.

Search Add 9 EN2ORPHINE Gaetan Nelias French Electronic artist born in 1982. A&R of RED REC & Team Label CDT. EN2ORPHINE: Curious insatiable and eternally passionate, En2orphine never does things like everyone else. First attached body and soul to the Bordeaux rock scene, he later falls in love with electronic music at the dawn of the 2000s at parties organized by the atypical club Space Opera. It was these two love at first sight that motivated her determination and her endless involvement in music. He started with the production, which led him to present live acts with 69db, Lenny D, McOutis, DJ Volta, Hilight Tribe and DJamency, and gradually became part of the mix universe. At the same time, he ventured into rock-fusion with his group "Churchill" and engaged in electro-jazz and world music collaborations, wherever his characteristic open-mindedness could lead him. His meeting with young WestSound Brestois marks a turning point for him. After a year of exchanges, they offer him the opportunity to mix alongside Dax J. It is then that the hyperactive he is decided to crack on Rennes thus participating in the creation of REDEMPTION. More than just a collective responsible for organizing parties, he is at the origin of a series of podcasts called REDCAST and a label called RED REC in which En2orphine plays a very active role. More recently, he joined the staff of the "La Chinerie" community as an administrator for his techno CDT branch. Preferring shade and mystery, he strives to discover as much pearls as possible in order to study them and then assemble them to form auditory frescoes. Moreover, his selections are more to be seen as mosaics or patchworks as the focus is on diversity and polychrome. Various atmospheres mix and even create original bridges between musical genres in order to question certain boundaries between them and to surprise the listener. Whether the atmosphere is cold and distressing or warm and reassuring, En2orphine finds itself there, adapts and mixes like a chameleon, its eclectic foolproof constituting its greatest strength.

Search Add 9 Diastolic Murmurs The Diastolic Murmurs (sometimes also known as Diastolic M) formed themselves in 1985 during electro-acoustic research within Phillip Wachsmann's legendary Electronic Music studio (now demolished) at the City Literary Institute, Room 53, Keeley House, Keeley Street, London WC2 Primarily their aesthetic was to explore as fully as possible the "occult" sound-world inherent in any given object or material (with a preference for the damaged, broken, and discarded) and their extraction or autopsy with the use of contact microphones. In the mid 1980's they performed what they termed "Live" Electronic Dissections, turning their microcosm into a macrocosm, acutely aware perhaps of Artaud's call for "sounds that cannot be endured" In their 30+ years career they have collaborated and performed with Dr Edward Scheer, Michael Prime, Furt, Clive Graham, and more recently with artist and writer Douglas Park, stylist and fetish film director Phoenix Blu-Coyle and (Dr) Jonathan Bohman of Secluded Bronte.

Search Add 9 Dr. Martens Beat Dr. Martens Beat got together as a band around 1998. Jose & Sonia were also playing in Ruín Bois at the time, but they would occasionally meet some good friends who had a project (I wouldn’t call it a band really, as they could hardly play at all, were just testing out ideas for songs, and didn’t even have a proper drummer), so one day they simply gathered to see what could come out of it, and since they got along really well and loved to drink a beer or three in the meanwhile, a new band was born. They agreed on the name Dr. Martens Beat as it sounded just great, and they also meant to pay homage to one of their favourite bands back then: Böhse Onkelz. Eventually the line-up would be Néstor (vocals & lyrics), Jose (lead guitar & songs), Carlos (rhythm guitar), Dani (bass) and Sonia (drums). At first, their songs were mostly in Galician, but knowing how little most people would care about them around here, they went for English. In a few months they had recorded a couple of demo-tapes, which were basically done with an old mixing-desk that was left on recording while the band was rehearsing, at no cost at all by the way, which was a fuckin’ brilliant plus! Mind you, those demos were never intended to be published at all. They just wanted to check out what they sounded like, and were for private use. It’s kind of surprising to be told that they’re on the web, and quite a few people have them (and apparently like them!). Furthermore, someone even spent the time (and I guess money) to produce a cassette, without any permission of course… Eh motherfucker, where’s our fuckin’ cash??!! Anyway Néstor decided to send copies of those songs to some European labels and that brought about their first EP, on Dim Records in Germany. Those four tracks were recorded around 1999 in the same place where they used to practise at that time. Considering it was the first time that they or, for that matter, the studio guy himself was to record something properly, I guess sound-wise there’s not so much to complain about. Also around that time they were to have the first of the two gigs they ever got to play (funnily enough both of them outside Galiza!). One was the farewell concert of Ruín Bois in León (Spain), the other a festival near Lisbon (Portugal) together with Mataratos and other Punk, Hardcore and Metal bands. Incidentally, that gig would end up in a serious riot, which appeared in the Portuguese papers the following day, nice pic of the Galician band included! Soon after Dim brought out that 7”, Carlos left the band. No big deal really. From then on, Néstor took up playing rhythm guitar too, and Jose would also sing in some songs, so apart from the music, he started writing his own lyrics. More practicing and quite a few beers later, they got a recording offer from Bords De Seine in France. They recorded three songs for the label: two of them sung by Jose and one by Néstor. It must be said this time they were a lot happier with the sound quality, not to mention the songs themselves! In 2001 “You’ll never walk alone” and “The Man who came from León” were published as a 7”, whereas in that same year “In the Crowd” was to show up on a compilation LP called “Oi! What a Wonderful World”, with international bands such as Forced Reality or The Templars. In any case, around that time DMB just decided to call it a day. There were proposals to publish an album, but the truth is they were hardly rehearsing at all, and they simply were not having fun any longer, as they used to. They basically went their separate ways (two ended up living in London) and pretty soon some of them were to be found in different music ventures. What you hold here is all their studio works, plus a bonus track taken from one of their demos, a reminder of the good times they had back then. Having a laugh?... sure, but “fuck the world” was more like it… Jose (Dr. Martens Beat), January 2017

Search Add 9 Los Hermanos Alvarado Los Hermanos Alvarado Los Hermanos Alvarado were a trio of string Christian music, whose musical career spanned three decades. It was conformed by the brothers Román, Rosario and Juan Alvarado. In a certain sense, stringed music, with the special use of the guitar, opened the way for Latin American Pentecostals to meet their faith with their own culture. The guitar had great influence on music, which extended to the liturgy and Pentecostal theology. Family history: Pascual and Dolores Alvarado, emigrated to the United States from northern Mexico, in the first decade of the Mexican Revolution. Pascual had fought in the ranks of Pancho Villa and Venustiano Carranza. The couple had seven children, who were born in Texas, Arizona and California. The parents and grandparents of Los Hermanos Alvarado, belonged to the first generation of Pentecostal converts of the name of Jesus Christ Hispanic in Bakersfield, California (being baptized in the name of Jesus in 1916). The Alvarado children had their religious formation under this Pentecostal community. Later they would adhere to the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus, which is the oldest Spanish-speaking group of Pentecostals of the Name of Jesus Christ, and which was founded in 1925 and incorporated in California (USA) on March 15, 1930.
