Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 9 Jetter Green Jetter Green Jetter Green, 36, a San Diego native has been surrounded and intrigued by art for as long as he can remember. His father, an entrepreneur and architectural designer, and his mother, a calligrapher and avid crafter, contributed to Jetter’s creative spark being kindled at an early age. In high school, artistic visions merged with technology, and his passion ignited. Jetter earned a BA in Graphic Design at the Art Institute of California. He then accepted a position at a print house in Encinitas where he began to hone his skills in print and color theory. Three years later, feeling a desire to be challenged creatively, Jetter sought a design position at a local creative agency. His encounter with the demands, needs and challenges of a larger clientele prompted a natural segue into the realm of web design. A year later, stifled by the politics of the industry and yearning for greater creative license, Jetter made the decision to go freelance. In early 2007, using his own entrepreneurial spirit and joining with a close designer friend, Outlier Creative, a think tank for cutting edge design, was born. The company works exclusively via their website and has an impressive list of domestic and international clientele. Three years later, Jetter’s perpetual “itch” for something new and different led him to explore new outlets for his creative urges. In 2009, while attending Burning Man and Lightning in the Bottle, Jetter’s alternative vision and creativity were inspired, and he finally began to create art for himself that would heal, expand, and explore the life experience. Always drawn to the concept of math as a universal language, the complex patterns found in nature, vivid colors, energetic properties and the infinite space within each of us, he turned to those elements as inspiration to create artwork that is not premeditated but instead evolves from the free flow of consciousness.

Search Add 9 María Alejandra Matos María Alejandra Matos Perhaps the hottest young, female merengue artist today is Maria Alejandra, from Puerto Rico. Interested in singing from a very young age, Alejandra started studying music and voice when she was 15 years old, inspired by merengue greats Juan Luis Guerra and Olga Tañón. Within a year she was recording advertising jingles for television, and singing many different musical genres in hotels. Alejandra released her debut album, Que Lloren Las Mujeres Tontas on the Rodven label. The album received wide critical acclaim. It included hit songs such as the title track and gave great impretus to a promising career. Alejandra’s second album, Locuras brought her international recognition. Also on the Rodven label, the album helped solidify her status as up-and-coming merengue star. The album showed Alejandra’s energy as well as talent with a mixture of ballads and very danceable songs such as “Como Pez En El Agua” and “Mar De Emociones”. Produced by Tony “Tun Tun” Castro, who also worked with Elvis Crespo and Grupo Manía, Alejandra has released her third album, the self-titled Maria Alejandra and possibly her best effort to date. The recording appears on the Universal label with great songs such as “Me Equivoque” . The album also included Si Tú Te Vas, which appears on two tracks: once as a ballad, her first, and again in merengue form. Both tracks are excellent examples of Alejandra’s talent.

In July of 2016, Frank released his first two 12" singles called "Acid Rant" (new track) and "Blacid Storm" (acid mixes of his original 2005 house track "Blast Zone"). He also released first LP called "Acid Man" in June 2017. In July 2017, his artist name has changed again from "Acidone" to "Micrometer". Search Add 9 Jimmy Plates J. Greco A South London based DJ and producer, Jimmy Plates has been an avid Hip Hop head for over 20 years and is known as one of London's more respected and knowledgeable record dealers [also collector and digger]. Already an accomplished DJ "Plates" decided to look for a new challenge and focused his attention towards beat-making in the late 90's. After honing his skills and clocking up several production credits on independent Hip Hop releases, Jimmy Plates exploded onto the scene with his 2003 debut 12" "Big Rigs" / "Tasty Kakes". This double "A" sided single featured the vocal talents of Philadelphia rap crew Endevers and won rave reviews in magazines on both sides of the Atlantic topping both U.S. independent and U.K. Hip Hop charts simultaneously! Feeling equally at home recording on either side of the "pond" Plates continues to work with both U.S. and U.K. artists, as well as producing music beds for London's hottest urban radio shows [most notably Choice FMs "Friday Night Flavas"] licensed music to Global Underground and for various soundtracks such as "Fear Of Death By Falling" a short film released in 2004. Not just limiting his musical talents to the underground Plates has also been the man behind some of the hottest "street" remixes in recent years of artists such as Destinys Child, Missy Elliot and Kelis earning numerous club spins, mixtape appearances and playlists on radio stations diverse as Kiss and XFM.

Search Add 9 Dave Bichard Rachel James Producer, writer, multi-instrumentalist & DJ from Manchester, England. Diagnosed as transgender in 2007 and now better known as Rachel James. BIOGRAPHY – UPDATED JULY 2012 Rachel Ellektra AKA Rachel James. Musician, song-writer, producer, remixer, sound engineer, DJ and much more besides. She’s written music for and with artists like Angie Brown, Joy Malcolm and Steve Strange, produced for labels like Sony Music and Neo Records and has been recommended by the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Redanka and Eddie Gordon. Multi-instrumentalist and multi-genre producer, she is almost impossible to ‘pigeon-hole’. So who is she and how did it all begin?… Rachel started out as a musician at just 5 years old playing keyboard, violin and guitar and was already in her first rock band at 13. When the dance music bug bit her at the tender age of 15, she began DJ’ing and progressed quickly music production. With borrowed and blagged equipment, Rachel soon had the basis of a small studio set up at home and was putting demos together and sending them out to labels eventually attracting the attention of Grant Nelson. She headed to London and co-wrote a couple of tracks for Nice ‘n’ Ripe alongside Grant. Rachel went on to produce for several labels and in the late 90’s she hooked up with Eddie Gordon of Neo Records who started putting remix work her way. These mixes gained her the attention of the A-list DJ’s and several BBC Radio 1 plays for her music. In 2001 Rachel’s cunning mash-up of David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ with DSK’s ‘What Would We Do’ got tongues wagging and dance floors moving. Aczess’ cheekily titled ‘Do What We Would picked up the attention of many a big name DJ playing it in Ibiza that summer and went on to get signed to Sony’s dance off-shoot INCredible. The track went on to be a massive club smash topping many well-known dance charts. In more recent years Rachel's label Axis Trax was born. It was initially a label to push out Rachel’s own musical doodles but it fast developed into a magnet for fabulous, undiscovered as well as well-established dance artists. The label though started on a zero budget soon attracted a large fan base celebrated it’s 1st birthday with a big bash at Ministry of Sound, London. Month on month Axis Trax grew and so did Rachel’s reputation as a producer/remixer. Over the past 3 years she has remixed for a host of artists including Jessie J, Black Eyed Peas, Marvin Gaye, Flash Brothers, X-Press 2, Redanka, Angelic, Amanda Wilson, Peyton, Graeme Park, Nightstylers, Mazie Williams, Joyce Sims, N-Joi, Pete Doyle, Freddy Bastone, Pepper Mashay, Rita Campbell, 7th Heaven, Banderas and Awesome 3 to name a few. Rachel is currently working on new projects with Blue Amazon and also co-writing and producing her debut album under her guise of Avro. RECENT INDUSTRY COMMENTS ON RACHEL... “Rachel, you are DA BOMB!” (Sterling Void) “You can clearly turn your hand to anything and produce quality.” (Lee Softly aka Blue Amazon) “You are truly multi-talented! Where have you been all my life?” (Andy Holt aka Redanka/Tarantella/DATAR) "I've a lot of time for Rachel and admire her hugely!" (Andy Wetson - Almighty/7th Heaven) "What can we say about Rachel’s mixes except A+!" (K-Klass) "I love your work!" (Kenny Thomas) "Rachel, are you related to King Midas? Everything you touch currently turns to gold!" (Jules Little - Global Dancefloor Radio show) "Rachel, I literally cried when I heard 'Halo'! It sounds AMAZING! Best thing I've ever heard myself on!" (Colin Waterson) "Been loving your 'Stella' remix! Playing it pretty much every gig! Really good job!!" (Jody Wisternoff - Way Out West) "Keep on trucking luv, you are doing well!" (James Blond) "I really do love what you're doing!" (Pete Doyle, Defected/Daddy Funk) "That Marvin Gaye remix... I think it's stunning!" (Robert De Fresnes) "Great work! Keep them coming Rachel!" So much is down to you, so thank you again for doing such an amazing job on engineering and co-production!" (Jason Gardiner - White Knights, Champion Records). "Rachel is a great producer/remixer!" (Peyton - Hed Kandi/Fierce Angel/Strictly Rhythm). "I think Rachel is very talented." (Joyce Sims - Singer/songwriter). "With your multi, multi-talent, and my vocals we could be really good!" The person behind Obscure Tapestries is working independently as a visual artist, illustrator and graphic designer. He has dabbled in the field of alternative music, electroacoustics and homerecording since the late eighties / early nineties. Search Add 9 Dave.LXR Dave began to play as a DJ in 1999 and also created the LUXOR sound system with his friends that year. He used to play just hardtek, but also discovered more styles and began to play UK acid techno, hardfloor, crossbreed, hardcore etc.. Music is his whole life, so he also wanted to do it as his "work" . He opened his own vinyl shop, called LXRECORDS in 2002. He has really good access to all the records, so he can choose the best ones for his set…that´s the big big advantage:) His sets are full of energy, with long precise mixes, that´s why he became popular and not only in the Czech Republic, he also destroyed dancefloors around the Europe. His speciality is 3 decks pumpin´tekno set. In 2004 Dave established his own record label with the same name as his vinyl shop – LXRECORDS and started to focus on production and liveset. He released more than 10 releases on labels such as LXRECORDS, DEMONTAGE, 10TRACTION, OLD SKULL or PIRAT UNIT. Dave's tracks and sets are usually not only in one style, he prefers to mix more styles together and make a „story“. Dave also created the new project Substance-D with his friends in 2008, which is more focused on dirty electro & breaks and in 2012 his new project DEXIDE focused on neurofunk, darkstep, crossbreed and industrial hardcore.

One thing led to another and soon he started to experiment with producing his own tracks. Working hard from the very beginning to create his own unique sound, the upcoming talent from Germany continuously improved his production skills. In 2019 he finally felt the quality of his music was good enough to be shown to the world. Therefore he recently joined Hands Up Freaks Records where his future releases will be published. Touching emotional and melancholic melodies combined with powerful kicks best describe Naptone's atmospheric and unique sound.

Search Add 9 Bambi McCormick At San Francisco College for Women, Bambi appeared in several of the school's musical comedy productions, including "Lil Abner" and "Oklahoma!" After returning home, Bambi performed in many local musical comedy productions and spent a semester at the Pasadena Playhouse. While there she formed a trio called The Milestones. An old friend, Gordon Jenkins heard them and booked the trio for his Ziegfeld Follies Production at the Thunderbird in Las Vegas. Two years before, Gordon heard Bambi sing at a society benefit at his country club and wanted to bring her to Vegas but at the time her parents insisted that Bambi was too young. Now the time was right. After The Follies, The Milestones didn't stay together, but Bambi went on to appear at Dino's in Hollywood and then on a tour with Don Cornell to Harrah's in Reno and Tahoe and to the Stardust in Las Vegas. Ultimately all this led to a featured spot in "Pzazz '68," the bombastic review at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas, and her music manager presented her recording contract with Metromedia.

Search Add 9 Trrmà [b]Trrmà[/b] is an Italian experimental duo based in Bari, Italy, and founded in July 2015 by Giovanni Todisco (percussion) and Giuseppe Candiano (modular synthesizers). TRRMÀ incorporates several distinct motives in their unconventional sound, such as traditional [i]afrikaans[/i] tribal polyrhythms, elements of Mediterranean and classical percussion. The artists also often use [i]stochastic system of composition[/i]—a mathematical approach invented by a Greek composer [a32202] in the early 1950s. The band's first two albums were both eponymous: a limited-edition [r=8462007] LP, self-released in May 2016, and [r=11939094] CD which came out in June 2018 on an Italian independent label [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/108277]Auand Records[/url]. This second release, mastered by [a=Rashad Becker] at D+M Berlin, featured slightly more refined production and polished sound. In February of 2019, to coincide with their first Japan tour, TRRMÀ released a third album, [r=14904740]. Limited edition CD came in a handmade silkscreened cover with Japanese liner notes. The band also collaborated with a renowned American avant-garde composer and pianist [a=Charlemagne Palestine]. In November 2018, he performed at the 33rd edition of [i]Times Zones Festival[/i] in Bari. Times Zones is one of the oldest Italian music festivals, held in Trrmà's hometown annually since 1986. Giovanni and Giuseppe, both Palestine admirers, asked organizers to put them in touch with the eccentric composer. Eventually, they recorded two sessions, fusing together TRRMÀ's stochastic compositions and Palestine's "bombastic" piano and electronics. The limited-edition [r=14339206] LP was released in Oct 2019 on a French label [l=Be Coq]. In May 2020, a Brooklyn-based [l=577 Records] released TRRMÀ's latest album, recorded back in October 2019 at [l1035914] in Terlizzi, and again mastered by Becker at D&M.

It made me visit all the big parties in Holland and even beyond the borders. Also it made me realize that I really wanted to work in the music business. My first active steps into the world of music came with organizing my own parties. One of my highlights was a rave with a gig from the number one deejay of the world at our rave in 2009. After some years of organizing parties, my interest switched to the wheels of steal itself. I started spinning in 2014 and my first gig as an active deejay was in 2015. The music that I like to play is binary. I love to play techno with a dark and underground groove. I also like to do a gig with deep/techhouse full of warm influences, which brings up the feeling of summer.

Search Add 9 Alex Eisenring Alex Roger Eisenring Castro Mexican musician, composer, audio engineer and record producer. A pioneer in rock, prog rock, avant-garde, techno, electronic, soundtrack, and experimental music in Mexico. He started playing covers with a band called [i]La Marioneta Eléctrica[/i] which then in 1973 became a trio, [a7547606], influenced by free jazz, progressive rock and experimental music, with [a7547605] (drums), [a7547627] (bass) and Alex Eisenring (piano, guitar) as the founding members. The band had many different line-ups and instruments, even having up to 13 musicians at the same time. Alex was eager to adopt an electronic style for the band however his partners disagreed, that's why in the same night of 1981, [i]Queso Sagrado[/i] was being dissolved giving its last live show while [a1109492] was being formed by him along with [a4325278] and [a4325277], performing its first live show. Allegedly [m1577327] was the first techno music ever made in Mexico. Around this time, by seeing the inaction of major labels around indie Mexican rock projects, Alex felt motivated to intervene more as a producer to help promoting the underground music scene, that's how he started out some collaborations with [a595604], [a3739126], [a2323291], [a4568664], [a3738097] and [a204112], among others. Due to this lack of economic support, there was a multidisciplinary collaboration of different artists with their different projects not only with music, for example many musicians did also design, production, illustration, photography or typography for other colleague bands and artists, making very interesting concepts of musical styles and influences, art, culture and multimedia. In 1985, upon the disbandment of [i]Syntoma[/i], he also began to learn computer programming and building, mainly as a job, but with the aim of having a high-tech recording studio of his own and as a perhaps cheaper way to obtain a [i]Synclavier[/i] or a [i]Fairlight CMI[/i]: homemade. He began then to work as an engineer out of necessity, as there were no engineers specialized in experimental and electronic styles. In 1992 the first digital recording (with no tapes) in Mexico was being made in his home studio by his project [a4352070], co-founded by Alex with [a2185680] and [a724995]. In 2010, after being around twenty years inactive, just working in 3D animation, video editing and graphic design, he was invited by [a896838] and [a1272488] to collaborate with [a204112]. By 2012 they were performing for [a2608026] short films live projections as well as other silent short films from surreal cinema movement. In his most recent projects he co-founded, with [a233176] after his return to Mexico from being in NYC around thirty years, [a963983] and [a5658993].

Search Add 9 Mister Poison Stéphane Poison Born and bred in the vibrant Parisian region of France, Mister Poison emerged onto the music scene with a bang. In 1997, he unleashed his debut single, a collaboration with David R., marking the inception of a musical journey. But rewind to 1993, and that's when the fuse was lit – the epiphany that would ignite his passion for DJing, the art of melding records to forge entirely new sonic landscapes, the birth of the sampling and mixing concept that would define his musical odyssey. Mister Poison's musical voyage is a genre-blurring sojourn, spanning from the progressive realms of house to the unrelenting beats of raw and driving techno. A connoisseur of musical evolution, he deftly weaves together the tapestry of three decades of music, DJing prowess, and an unwavering devotion to electronic soundscapes. His creations, often oscillating between 128 and 135 BPM, are born from analog synthesizers, crafting ever-evolving sonic textures and fervent arpeggios. Injecting the captivating rhythms of house, he infuses depth into his compositions, punctuated by underground nuances at just the right moments. Each track invites listeners on a sonic voyage filled with movement and exploration. Mister Poison's roots lie in the DJing world, where his ever-expanding electronic culture mirrors the diversity found in his productions. The '90s played a pivotal role, with the unbridled techno beats of Detroit and the raw power of Rotterdam's hardcore scene, consistently pushing the envelope, often breaking the 180 BPM barrier. A seasoned bassist in rock bands, his interaction with classical musicians enriched his approach to composition. These myriad influences intertwine harmoniously, birthing a resolutely electronic sound. Beyond his musical endeavors, Mister Poison's artistic explorations have led him to co-write a ballet, craft theatrical pieces, compose for short films, and create sonic imprints for contemporary exhibitions. With an impressive discography that includes a debut album, 5 EPs, 4 singles, a remix, and contributions to 4 compilations totaling over 30 tracks. His journey has been punctuated by unforgettable moments, gracing the stages of Karakoram's legendary nights, taking center stage at the Techno Ballet of Monaco in the presence of Prince Albert, and spearheading the underground movement as a resident at Paris's iconic Gibus Club, and electrifying the airwaves with appearances on Radio FG. Let's not forget the monumental Teknival in France and performances for mixplace.tv, including a set amidst the snowy slopes of Courchevel.

The music was still strongly influenced by standardised, British blues. In 1972, [a975523] joined the band without recording or releasing anything. Various line-up changes followed in 1973, and the band settled with Kenth Loong (vocals, guitars), Mikael Olofsson (bass) and Claes Jansson (drums). Search Add 9 Dr. Martens Beat Dr. Martens Beat got together as a band around 1998. Jose & Sonia were also playing in Ruín Bois at the time, but they would occasionally meet some good friends who had a project (I wouldn’t call it a band really, as they could hardly play at all, were just testing out ideas for songs, and didn’t even have a proper drummer), so one day they simply gathered to see what could come out of it, and since they got along really well and loved to drink a beer or three in the meanwhile, a new band was born. They agreed on the name Dr. Martens Beat as it sounded just great, and they also meant to pay homage to one of their favourite bands back then: Böhse Onkelz. Eventually the line-up would be Néstor (vocals & lyrics), Jose (lead guitar & songs), Carlos (rhythm guitar), Dani (bass) and Sonia (drums). At first, their songs were mostly in Galician, but knowing how little most people would care about them around here, they went for English. In a few months they had recorded a couple of demo-tapes, which were basically done with an old mixing-desk that was left on recording while the band was rehearsing, at no cost at all by the way, which was a fuckin’ brilliant plus! Mind you, those demos were never intended to be published at all. They just wanted to check out what they sounded like, and were for private use. It’s kind of surprising to be told that they’re on the web, and quite a few people have them (and apparently like them!). Furthermore, someone even spent the time (and I guess money) to produce a cassette, without any permission of course… Eh motherfucker, where’s our fuckin’ cash??!! Anyway Néstor decided to send copies of those songs to some European labels and that brought about their first EP, on Dim Records in Germany. Those four tracks were recorded around 1999 in the same place where they used to practise at that time. Considering it was the first time that they or, for that matter, the studio guy himself was to record something properly, I guess sound-wise there’s not so much to complain about. Also around that time they were to have the first of the two gigs they ever got to play (funnily enough both of them outside Galiza!). One was the farewell concert of Ruín Bois in León (Spain), the other a festival near Lisbon (Portugal) together with Mataratos and other Punk, Hardcore and Metal bands. Incidentally, that gig would end up in a serious riot, which appeared in the Portuguese papers the following day, nice pic of the Galician band included! Soon after Dim brought out that 7”, Carlos left the band. No big deal really. From then on, Néstor took up playing rhythm guitar too, and Jose would also sing in some songs, so apart from the music, he started writing his own lyrics. More practicing and quite a few beers later, they got a recording offer from Bords De Seine in France. They recorded three songs for the label: two of them sung by Jose and one by Néstor. It must be said this time they were a lot happier with the sound quality, not to mention the songs themselves! In 2001 “You’ll never walk alone” and “The Man who came from León” were published as a 7”, whereas in that same year “In the Crowd” was to show up on a compilation LP called “Oi! What a Wonderful World”, with international bands such as Forced Reality or The Templars. In any case, around that time DMB just decided to call it a day. There were proposals to publish an album, but the truth is they were hardly rehearsing at all, and they simply were not having fun any longer, as they used to. They basically went their separate ways (two ended up living in London) and pretty soon some of them were to be found in different music ventures. What you hold here is all their studio works, plus a bonus track taken from one of their demos, a reminder of the good times they had back then. Having a laugh?... sure, but “fuck the world” was more like it… Jose (Dr. Martens Beat), January 2017
