Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 9 | Beth De Jong | A musician, artist, promoter, and budding producer from Hamilton, Ontario. Beth started playing guitar and singing as a teenager. Started playing in bands in 2014. After her first band [a=Sensei] was fizzling out in 2015 (disbanded in 2016), she picked up the bass for [a=The Pucumber Sasssquash Family Band] while their bass player Annie was away. After Annie returned, she then joined a local choir called [a=Earth, Wind & Choir]. After seeing the local band [a=Pool People], she joined a no-wave band in 2017 with most of its members called [a=Poorage]. After the drummer left in 2018, they changed their name to [a=Human Nun] with Randy Gagne aka [a=Man Made Hill] on percussion and vocals. Later that year, Beth and [a=Graham Bucci] started the darkwave band [a=Concavity]. When [a=Human Nun] couldn't play a couple of gigs, Banananananana was spawned - a 2 piece synth-punk band consisting of Beth and bandmate [a=Drew Taylor (3)]. When the pandemic hit, Human Nun was put on hold. A new project called FO-X.O. with Drew and Dan Hill on bass was formed in 2021 and will be releasing their material later in the year. During her time playing in bands, she also performed noise music with additional instruments such as autoharp, record player scratching, and other sound makers. Noise bands included [a=Impure Haha], Barbaric Slaptonne, [a=Hamilton Noise Orchestra], Gazorpazorp, Blarthtarp, Caccus, and other people in the scene. Beth has recently started using the name Babette laFlail, and still resides and performs in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Members: Francisco D'Uva Gerónimo Godas Rodrigo Godas

He was signed to [l39357] by [a916151] ([a10584]'s husband). He was, very briefly, a member of [a699393] in 1958 but didn't last long enough to record with them. According to Marv Goldberg's essay on the group he was fired after they did some dates at the Golden Hotel in Las Vegas around spring 1958. It looks as if he abandoned his singing career to work in promotion - he was appointed the R&B promotion manager for [l59627] in June 1967 but didn't last long there as he was working for [l46437] by early 1968. He was one of the promotion men for [l34533] in 1970 then moved back to New York in 1971 to work at the short-lived New York Sound label. In January '72 he was working for [a202256]'s [l19965] label as their promotion man for the East Coast and later, in 1976, was made R&B promotion manager for the [l1060] presumably working on the [a136273] and [a693150]. It is doubted that lasted very long as the US London label was on its last legs by that time. The trail goes cold after 1976. It's guessed he long since retired from the music business.

Search | Add | 9 | George Staiduhar | George Staiduhar was born February 9, 1945, and was the product of E. 185th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, an area rich in Slovenian style music and culture. He started lessons at age six under the auspices and teachings of Bill Sneller of Euclid, Ohio. His training and study was focused on classical music, which he incorporated into his own Cleveland style polkas and waltzes. During the ‘50s and early ‘60s, he participated in many accordion contests and received No. 1 and No. 2 recognition for the State of Ohio in his age group playing an overture and one of Mendelsohn’s violin concertos. Having played with various bands from Cleveland’s Eastside, during and after his high school years, and after discharge from the Army in 1968, he formed the “George Staiduhar Orchestra” becoming one of Cleveland’s most sought after groups in the early 70’s. He released his first recording in 1970 entitled, “Polkas on the Slope” followed by “Polka Swingin with Staiduhar”. Throughout the ‘70s, the George Staiduhar Orchestra appeared on Cleveland’s Channel 5 TV “Polka Varieties,” once having received “Most Popular Band of the Year” Award. In the 1980’s, he was asked to join the Harry Faint Revue and in 1990, released a cassette entitled, “Polkas by George.” In 1991, that recording was Album of the Year voted by the Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame. Again, all the music was written and arranged by him, who included their signature tune, “Mozart’s Polka.” That tune received recognition in 2003 by the Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame as an All Time Greatest Hit. He was also voted by the Polka Hall of Fame as Musician of the Year in 1991, 1994, and 2000. He released “Cadillac Polkas” in 1993. In 1999, the name of the band was changed to “George Staiduhar and the Revue.” In 2000, the Staiduhar Revue released a CD entitled “Y2K Polkas.” It was nominated for a Grammy. In 2004, he retired from music after 45 years and he culminated his musical career by receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, again, from the Polka Hall of Fame. It is the highest honor award given. He works as a Federal Court Reporter with the U.S. District Court in Cleveland, Ohio.

Search | Add | 9 | Igor Vertus | Igor Bicanic | Igor Vertus (Igor Bicanic) is a long time industrial veteran from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Influenced by the Rotterdam hardcore scene from the 90’s, at the age of 12 he started sampling loops from the radio and mixed it with LP records to create his own sound. Three years later he discovered FastTracker2 where he started making hardcore and gabber. He loved the speed, the energy and the distorted kicks and screaming Juno synthesizers. This was an excellent teacher to really understand the technique around electronic sound and sequencing. With all the inspiration in the epic oldschool and early hardcore 1992-2002 era and many tracks later he knew he had to upgrade to get a more professional sound. He bought a drumcomputer (a Korg Electribe with tube amps), a sampler (Akai S2000), an analog modeling synthesizer (Yamaha AN1x), a 12 channel mixer with all kinds of effects and a JBL monitoring soundsystem. For even better sound he got his hands on a professional M-Audio soundcard and a studio amp. He learned all the midi and sequencing tricks he needed in Cubase. Still there were many limitations for the sound he wanted. The complexity needed way more gear and hardware-only wasn’t the answer. As computers and software were getting more powerful, VST’s were getting more mature, Igor Vertus started using the Reason Studio DAW which allowed him create without limits, while keeping that studio feel. Igor Vertus got his first recognition after winning a producer contest on a well known social website for party minded people, Partyflock, where he won a record deal for a known Dutch Amsterdam-based hardcore label, Mokum Records. Around 2006 he got drawn in the trending hard techno scene, where he released techno and industrial tracks. The energy from techno combined with the raw sound of industrial music was a perfect fit. In 2021 he started his own fresh label, Blackly Beyond Records, where his story could be told in techno, hardtechno, industrial and dark psychedelic acid. Since 2022 he presents the weekly podcast streaming show Beyond Techno, available on Apple Podcasts, Mixcloud, Soundcloud, YouTube and such. Every episode is all about techno, hardtechno and industrial music, where Igor Vertus curates and mixes the newest promo’s, hidden gems and older great tracks from the frontlines. |

Search | Add | 9 | Soultape | Denis Kondraschenko | From the heart of Russia, a brand new solo project emerges, bringing with it its own viscerally deep vision of minimalist sounds... Acting as one half of the well known duo Adjustment Bureau (Haze / Mayak / Morning People), Denis Kondraschenko now strikes a confident new path through the minimal underground. His intoxicating blend of rippling atmospherics and stripped back rhythmic components are synthesized in an explicit fashion. Resonating clear and true emotion. |

Search | Add | 9 | One Thousand Pilots | Harsh Noise and industrial drone project by spanish artist Alejandro Remeseiro. In his own words One Thousand Pilots is: Harsh Noise, industrial, landscapes, sometimes drones. One Thousand Pilots was discovered in 1997 while I was walking over an isolated place near Semipalatinsk (Kazhakstan): This place was formerly a huge "nuclear test field" during the soviet era, now full of isolated, tumbledown buildings, and towers in the middle of the steppe. Some inhabitants of the cities near to the zone, tell me about that there, in the isolated test fields, and during the last 30 years people have listened legends about the "The thousand pilots", a supposed kind of group or subhuman society living hidden and secretly in the underground and that got the ability to produce dreadful and frightening "sounds" to communicate, just using amplification of their contaminated throats...and brains. Near Semipalatinsk, in a isolated building, I found some reel tapes with just one label in the case "One Thousand Pilots". I can't say much more about this...

Search | Add | 9 | 胡美芳 | 本名胡朝子 | Japanese-Chinese singer, (b. November 20, 1926, d. November 7, 2009), known in Chinese as Hu Meifang, in Japanese as Ko Biho. Born to Chinese parents in Hainan City, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan; her father, a barber, served as president of the Overseas Chinese Association. To escape suspicion that her father was a Chinese spy, the family moved back to Shanghai in 1941. In 1943, Hu Meifang entered a Japanese-run art school in Beijing, "Beijing Art" [北京藝文], to study vocal performance. On the side, she sang in night clubs and made a few recordings without scoring an actual hit. After the war, the Chinese government prosecuted her as an alleged Japanese spy, but she was acquitted. She did return to Japan, though, and acquired Japanese citizenship. In 1952, she experienced her big musical breakthrough. She became the only Chinese super-star in Japan, making numerous records and starring in several movies. In 1974, she converted to Christianity and began singing gospel music in churches and elsewhere in Japan. She died in 2009 in Sumida, Tokyo. |
