Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 6 | Charles Charamba | Charles Charamba | Charles Charamba, the massively talented gospel musician was born in 1971 in Mudzi, a remote area in the eastern district of Zimbabwe. As he grew up, Charles discovered at a very early age that his major gift lay in music. Such was boy's conspicuous talent that at primary school he was the youngest member of his school singing group. Together with his seniors' they toured many places entertaining audiences of all ages and classes. The vibrant Charles converted to Christianity in August 1988.Thus began an era which today has become a phenomenon of pronounced multitude. The man belongs to Who's Who of the country's top gospel artistes. If the fame come across the border, who would be surprised? Charles is not a fly by night musician who thrives on plucking common hymns from various denominations. A highly inspired composer in his own right, he possesses exceptional writing skills that are virtually unmatched. Previous works like 'Jehovah NdiMwari Wedu' (1995) and the album 'Tinashe Akatendeka' (1997) bear open testimony to the man's God-given prowess. A humble and lovable character, Charles Charamba is no doubt one gospel giant who is bound to grow on and go beyond the apex, smashing all known historical perceptions.Even the sky cannot be the limit Brother! Keep on fishing them out. Notes on Compilation Album 'Muzita RaJesu Vol. 1. |

Search | Add | 6 | Ricky Zaziky + Die Holidays | Novelty and parody project by [a=Mathias Bozó], starting in 1993 with the song "Du hast noch Sperma in den Haaren", that in the subsequent years was accomplished with a bunch of similar songs. In order to mark the project as a parody and to separate it from his other projects, the artist created the fictional character [a=Ricky Zaziky]. The early demos were produced and recorded by Mathias Bozó himself in Heidelberg. After sending a demo tape to german TV station VIVA in 1997, the artist appeared on [a=Stefan Raab]'s Vivasion TV show with the Sperma song (and a fake playback band). 1998 four tracks from the repertoire were released on a music cassette (later available as free mp3 download on ponkoff-music.de) with all music played by the artist. 2002 the artist appeared on british Channel 4, once again with the Sperma song. After moving to Lüneburg in 2002, Mathias renewed the concept, the songs and the stage show for his Ricky Zaziky appearances. He formed a live band (The Holidays) and recorded new versions of the old songs and some new novelty songs. In 2008 he published a Promo EP with four songs, followed by a full album, recorded with his band and a couple of guest musicians. Anyway, the concept of the project and the musicians had aged in between, so shortly after the album release Mathias Bozó ended the project, seeing the 2008 album as a gift for all fans who had been waiting for the album for nearly 15 years.

Search | Add | 6 | Ment Plus | M. Vladimir | MentPlus' passion for music is rooted in his upbringing in Brooklyn. In his early days in BK, which he called a war zone, he discovered his love for music listening to the genre-swapping radio stations at his grandma's home. He was also introduced to turntables through his older brother's friend, a local DJ with a penchant for the Golden Era classics, and needed a place to store his equipment, where Ment would soon learn to navigate his way around a pair of 1200s. He and his friends used dusty samplers and tape decks to craft beats, first from Ultimate Breaks and Beats compilations and soon after from their own crate-dug collections. A true Hip-Hop head, he tagged every so often and used the letters "M E N T," hence his deejay/producer moniker. He now added Plus to give himself the strength to focus on his work amid the industry BS. |

(Their groundbreaking work laid the foundation for solarigraphy, or "solargraphy," which emerged in the 2000s. This movement in experimental photography uses pinhole cameras with ultra-long exposure and no chemical processing to capture the sun's daily journey along the sky).

Search | Add | 6 | Ralph Bakshi | Ralph Bakshi (born October 29, 1938) is an American director of animated and live-action films. In the 1970s, he established an alternative to mainstream animation through independent and adult-oriented productions. Between 1972 and 1992, he directed nine theatrically released feature films, five of which he wrote. He has been involved in numerous television projects as director, writer, producer and animator. Beginning his career at the Terrytoons television cartoon studio as a cel polisher, Bakshi was eventually promoted to animator, and then director. He moved to the animation division of Paramount Pictures in 1967 and started his own studio, Bakshi Productions, in 1968. Through producer Steve Krantz, Bakshi made his debut feature film, Fritz the Cat, released in 1972. It was the first animated film to receive an X rating from the Motion Picture Association of America, and the most successful independent animated feature of all time. Over the next eleven years, Bakshi directed seven additional animated features. He is well known for such films as Wizards (1977), The Lord of the Rings (1978), American Pop (1981) and Fire and Ice (1983). In 1987, Bakshi returned to television work, producing the series Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures, which ran for two years. After a nine-year hiatus from feature films, he directed Cool World (1992), which was largely rewritten during production and received poor reviews. Bakshi returned to television with the live-action film Cool and the Crazy (1994) and the anthology series Spicy City (1997).

Lyrics were typically not written, but ad-libbed. Joan Marie Polo recorded four tapes between 1994 and 1995. In 2000 a CD was made, The Love & Affection I Used to Have, which compiled a selection of songs from all four tapes (mostly from 1994’s Zig Death). The compilation CD wound up in the hands of Irwin Chusid who played JMP on WFMU. Additional songs were made available through MySpace. In 2005 The Love & Affection I Used to Have was made available as a CD-r and MP3.

Search | Add | 6 | Dennis "Scorcher" Williams | Dennis Williams | In Reggae music, like other genres, artists and producers leave their mark on an industry and then quietly fade away. In the ‘early days in Jamaica – the late 60’s- names like JJ, Clancy Eccles, Coxsone, Duke Reid, Bunny Lee, Prince Buster, Lee Perry, Keith Hudson, Joe Gibson and Randy’s and High Note were the producers known by the public. However, there was one name which kept appearing on some blank ‘killa’ 45s played in the dancehalls: SCORCHER. Every sound system owner spoke about Scorcher. A part of every major sound system’s routine, involved sending the DJ/selector to ‘check wid Scorcher and see what him have.’ Scorcher began delivering records to sound system owners at age 12. “I used to deliver records on my roller skates on Sunday mornings when the operators were just getting out of bed,” he recalls. But Scorcher was to move way beyond that. By age 16, he had teamed up with George Wade and Osmond ‘Junior’ Holton to form ‘The Scorchers’ and did their first record – Ugly Man- for Lloyd the Matador. It was an instant hit with the Jamaican public. It skyrocketed to number one on both Jamaican radio charts, selling some 70,000 copies! And it was then, ‘Lloyd said to me boy you are Scorcher’. The name stuck ever since. Other records charting on the Matador label, included ‘Hold on Tight Mary Ann,’ in 1968 which dethroned the then number one single in Jamaica from the Ethiopians, ‘Everything Crash’’; ‘Tighten Up Yourself’ and ‘What a Condition,’ a song along the lines of ‘Everything Crash.’ Scorcher had proven himself as a producer and began to attract the attention of the biggest names in the business, both artists and studio owners alike. As a producer, Scorcher worked with the then Federal Records. Duke Reid, among the biggest names at the time, but it was at Studio One that Scorcher really came into his own, producing notable hit of that period, from artists like the Gaylads, Larry Marshall, Bop and the Belltones and a host of still unnamed ‘scorchers’ on blank labels. These were the favorites of the sound systems; the one in a million hits that never made it to radio. Today Scorcher is still producing. He migrated to California in 1969 and toured Europe, the US-Pacific region and North America for a while performing at nightclubs and promoting concerts. In 1970, he released the first reggae LP, conceived, recorded and produced in California, “What a Bam Bam.” In 2013 Scorcher comes back full circle to his Skinhead Reggae roots teaming up with Jandisc Records producer J Bonner and Jandisc house band ‘the Black Emeralds.’ His single titled ‘Record Breaker’ is due out May 2013 and highlights his ‘talkover’ talents as a deejay proving once again that there’s simply nothing Scorcher can’t conquer. Search | Add | 6 | The Exploding Meet | The exploding meet was formed in Fredericton, New Brunswick in the autumn of 1983 as a songwriting workshop and experimental recording project. Throughout subsequent years the loose collective vastly improved production techniques and expanded early lyrical and compositional ideas. Once described as "Surrealist-Ethno-Underworld-Fusion", the Exploding Meet led by composer Mark Carmody, were equipped with standard rock instrumentation but with modified tuning and a broad palate of percussion voices which opened up a somewhat unique and mesmerizing sonic range. Rhythms and harmonic structures reflect the group’s interest in the exotic soaring dance modes of Psychedelic Rock, Jazz and Ju Ju Music. The power and freedom of Coltrane and Coleman mix with the meditative pulses of afro-centric music, Middle Eastern modes and the always present, expansive, influential body of accurately referenced material. Environmental sights and sounds from the weathered cities and diverse rural landscapes of Eastern Canada offer the greatest contribution. This atmosphere furnishes a dreamscape from which the whole identity of the music evolves. On July 13th, 1985, the exploding meet performed "Inaugural Address" @ Memorial Hall on the U.N.B. campus and thus embarked on a long journey that always focused on developing live performance potential. The intention always being to discover ways of expressing thoughts and feelings in a musical language tapped at its source. Performances over the next few years included "the Pineapple Analogy", "Slugfest ' 86", "Scream", Wolverine", "Lola Palooza ' 88", "Bard Mongrel", "Gatineau Rebellion", "Circus Of Disharmony" and many others. The collective performed many shows and released a number of albums in various formats over the course of several decades which garnered global praise from the underground and great support from Canadian community based radio. The exploding Meet performed primarily in Fredericton although a number of shows took place in Ontario and Quebec. The collective performed a number of times in their home base at "First Night", "Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival" and also at the first ever "Maritime Independent Music Festival". The exploding meet also had a “pop” side as well, which manifested itself within the division known as Decade of Dreams. Under this banner several vinyl LP’s and CDs were also released and were generally well received once again by the aforementioned recipients of recorded material. Mark Carmody also saw the release of what is truly a magical vinyl only LP which provided the soundtrack to NFB film called “Tuesday Wednesday” released under his own name. Those involved in the exploding meet collective collided through the mutually felt isolation of their existence with a desire to expand the mind. On retrospect, this appears to have been coupled with a born internal need to self discover through the channeling of music and art. Pretty much everyone to this day practices their craft in many forms and we all have extremely fond memories of our times together as “the meet”, touching the universe as one single entity whenever we played. Enjoy this experience and always remember to look for the flare!

Search | Add | 6 | TheReal D.TeL | Dante Dupuy | Born May 30th 1988 in Seattle, Washington at Swedish Hospital to Sondra and Gary Dupuy. Dante Dupuy aka TheReal D.TeL (TRD) being the baby of 2 older brothers, Gary and Donell. All brothers went to a catholic school in Tacoma, WA, Holy Rosary. TRD, being the only one to move to a public school in the middle of 3rd grade. His family stayed up to date with the latest music, sports and played sports for their schools. Taking after their footsteps, he followed suit and developed a love for music and sports, up until high school when an interest in music became greater. In school, he would make music in the same room the school news was reported which encouraged him to take it to the next level. Beginning only with a stage microphone taped to the wall in his closet, a bedsheet as soundproofing, equipped with a music program he never used before, TRD started his music career. Soundclick was the first site he uploaded his music to with great reception and criticism. Further perfecting his craft, he started to dabble with beat production. Having no one else to mix and master his songs, he taught himself that as well. With the passing of his grandmother in 2004, him and his family moved to Northern California, where he collaborated with other rap artists and producers. As TRD continued to get better, he won local unsigned radio awards. As time moved on, he upgraded his home studio and skills to sound like a professional studio. Making all party music, a positive song or a song about God every now and then without knowing much about Him other than what he was taught in catholic school, that's when he started to reflect on his life and music catalog. TRD began working on new material, but as he finished a number of songs, he felt like most of his new music had no positive impact, he knew something had to change. He didn't know what it was until 2015. TRD made a life-changing decision which started the transition to Christian music, releasing his 1st Christian single in 2019 and never looked back. |

Search | Add | 6 | The Dream Dates | Coming out of the same extraordinarily fertile '70s Hamilton scene that brought us Teenage Head, Simply Saucer and the Forgotten Rebels, the band started out as Bored Youth, and made their 1979 live debut opening for Toronto's notorious Viletones. Soon changing their name to Dream Dates, the Hammer City combo went into the studio later that same year to lay down a seven song set that would remain ...unreleased for the next twenty-one years. Drawing on the rawest early rockabilly, snarling '60s garage punk and the furious sounds of more recent outfits like the Stooges and Dead Boys, Dream Dates backed three instant classic originals with four revved-up covers, then promptly forgot about the session as they proceeded to focus on their devastating live assault. While the band gigged well and often until their 1982 disintegration, they never did enter the studio again

Search | Add | 6 | Mike Woodford | Mike Woodford | Former concubine and St. Thomas Ward 3 Hula Hoop champion, Mike Woodford suffered a career-ending bowel displacement injury. No longer able to hula without leakage, he turned to music. As a idiot-savant of the panpipes, he strived to be cast as Tewt in every live musical adaptation of the 1963 Canadian children's cartoon "The Mighty Hercules". He failed. His frustration led to him screaming at police outside doughnut shops which led to the phrase, "The Cruller Knows Only Cruelty". He realized he found his true purpose. The doughnut-hole in his life was filled. |

Ideologicznie świadomie i celowo zespół wspiera akcje antyrasistowskie, wolnościowe i ekologiczne. Wokalistów Qulturki można usłyszeć m.in. na najnowszej płycie zespołu STRACHY NA LACHY I cant get no gratisfaction.
