Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Ophir Ilzetzki | Ophir Ilzetzki | Ophir Ilzetzki (*1978) is a classically trained composer of experimental music living in Tel Aviv, Israel. He holds a doctorate in music from the Southampton University, where he studied under Michael Finnissy, as well as an MMus from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and a BA from the Koninklijk Conservatorium – both in composition. Ilzetzki's music explores various forces through instrumental, electronic, computer, performance, task and conceptual scores, where his works often research the intersection between through-composed and improvised pieces. Ilzetzki’s ongoing compositional goal is to strip forms to their bare essentials whilst still maintaining their identity. In recent years Ilzetzki has been applying games to musical structures, as well as focusing on alternative avenues for scoring music - an activity often leading to the meeting of music with dramaturgy. Ophir’s music is regularly performed in Israel and abroad, and has been featured in numerous international festivals, such as: Tectonics, MATA, Norwich and Norfolk Festival, ACL Asian Music Festival, ISCM World Music Days, City of London Festival, Israel Festival, and more. His works have been published by: Open Source, Stenton Press, Classwar Karaoke, Surrism Phonoethics, False IND, Babelscores, Oryan & Ressling. |

Search | Add | 4 | Sealsia | Sealsia | In 1973, Daniel Pons, Guy Chanut and Yves Jourdanet, three friends from high school in Arles, founded the group Sealsia, acoustic and vocal trio, mainly taking songs from Neil Young and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.(Daniel Pons: acoustic guitar and vocals, Guy Chanut: acoustic guitar and vocals, Yves Jourdanet: 12 string guitar and vocals). In 1975, Daniel Pons leaves the band, replaced by Patrick Schmitt on bass guitar.Sealsia becomes a semi-acoustic band, with hovering sounds interpreting his own compositions (Sealsia is an imaginary and magical kingdom populated by elves, fairies and gnomes, in which take place the tales written by three friends). In 1983, Sealsia merged with another arlesian band: Nef, and became Wladimir Sealsianeff (Richard Lorenzi: electric guitar, Vincent Tronc Chérézy: keyboards, Daniel Florès: drums, Guy Chanut and Yves Jourdanet). In 1989, the formation became acoustic again, sometimes as a trio, sometimes as a quartet, with the return of Daniel Pons, and an additional voice. In 2014, after 40 years on stage, Yves Jourdanet and Guy Chanut perform as a duo, revisiting the sixties with a fully acoustic energy, two voices and two guitars that cross the 'Woodstock Generation' from Dylan to Led Zeppelin, passing by the Stones, Beatles, Kinks, Neil Young, Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens and many others. Yves Jourdanet is also singer, guitarist from the tribute bands Harvest (tributing Neil Young) and Sticky Fingers (tributing Rolling Stones). |

Search | Add | 4 | Carolina Fasulo | Carolina María Fasulo Kemper | Carola was an exceptional singer, she gave life to each song she performed, vocalizing both strong and subtle songs equally well. She told [a1227150] her story in a 1996 interview: “I always sang, since I was little. The first thing I did was study Spanish dances, play the castanets and hit the shoes while dancing. I loved rock n´roll, which at that time was a half forbidden thing. " Then Carola discovered what it was to compose songs "in a rocker sense", in her own words. “The two composers that influenced me the most were [a1263448] and [a1006851]. Precisely, everything I did in Damas Negras has to do with that poetics. And is that Carola was not improvised, in addition to composing beautiful lyrics, had a great formal musical training and knew how to play the guitar. He also had the possibility of working side by side with an extremely talented musician like [a1678587], who officiated as an arranger, companion and musical director. In 1973, through the Harvest label, Carola published a single with the songs "The Night Journey" and "Eva estirpe terrena" accompanied by [a945590]. That same year he recorded in the Phonalex studios what would be his only solo album: Damas Negras. Published through the Talent label, which was currently directed by [a516809]. Also, the album featured the participation of various musicians such as [a1539219], [a1750869], [a6170712], [a2298016], [a1006850], among others. |

Search | Add | 4 | Mattew Lee | Matteo Orizi | Matthew Lee, a rock’n’roll singer and pianist from Italy, was born in Pesaro on January 6 1982. At 11, he started attending the Conservatoire in Pesaro, his hometown. He immediately learned the piano techniques, by playing classical music. Three times he was invited to the famous Italian TV show “Domenica In…” which was immediately followed by more TV. Meanwhile the press has defined him as the “genius in Jerry Lee Lewis' wake” Matthew started touring the most famous Italian clubs, including The Place in Rome, Le Scimmie in Milan, Barfly in Ancona, Naima in Forlì. During summer 2005, he was invited to a number of important festivals, including San Severino Marche Blues Festival, which he opened in front of 1500 enthusiastic people, and the Summer Jamboree festival in Senigallia. At the end of 2005, Matthew performed in Rome, during New Year's Feast, with 150,000 participants. In November 2006, Matthew Lee released his first album “[r=9458218]”, produced by the Italian group [a643509]. The album was also recorded in their studios. The artistic director of this album was the Nomadi's guitar player [a1322960], who also recorded some guitar's tracks. This important co-operation led Matthew to be invited to open the concerts of this famous Italian group. In December 2006, [a229326], who has always appreciated his art, invited him to perform at Motor Show in Bologna, in the "Myths of music" stand. During summer 2007, Matthew was invited by many important Italian blues festivals, including Soul Island festival, Brindisi blues festival, Subiaco Blues festival, Lodi Blues festival and Tropea blues festival. Even internationally Matthew Lee does not go unnoticed: he started touring abroad last year, appearing in Holland, Germany, France and the UK. His second album, "[r=9458372]" was released in May 2008. It is recorded live on different occasions through Italy. In 2015 was released the second studio album "[r=9458309]". |

A dark warehouse, a distant strobe light and unrepentant dancing by people from all walks of life with an affinity toward the darkness of repetitive delayed out reverberating basslines and drum beats. This is what I recall of my first underground party under the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit, circa 2001. This experience spoke to me. In fact, this event set the stage for what has been 20 years of musical cultivation and growth. Many life detours have taken place along the way, but techno has been a constant through it all. |

Search | Add | 4 | De Confidence | Anthony McCarthy. | AKA Anthony & De Confidence. De Confidence is an art collective founded p by West Cork artist Anthony McCarthy ca 1987. Membership of the collective has over the years included: Dan Hallissey (AKA Crafty Dan) (keyboards), Giordai Ua Laoghaire (ex Nun Attax, Microdisney, Soon, etc) (guitar), Liam Murphy (Black Velvet Band) (guitars, keyboards), Barry Nolan (AKA Son of Lir) (keyboards), Liam Shanahan (keyboards), Arty Lorrigan (drums, percussion), and female singers Tara Woolridge, Lara Ewusoho and Neasa de Bearoid (Hidden Fears). Anthony lists the Virgin Prunes, Ivor Cutler and Yello among his influences. His vocals are like spoken word performances. An earlier project named Anthony & The Alcoholics was abandoned after the "Music For Suffering Ducks" project (circa 1984) and the Kuckoo single (1985). De Confidence rarely played outside Cork. The live show reputedly includes music, mime, spoken word, projected images, light effects, etc, i.e. a multi-media approach. There are also several videos. In 1988 they did a 3 city tour under the name Anthony & De Confidence which included Triskel Arts Center, Cork, the Irish Film Institute in Dublin and Covent Garden Community Centre in London. This tour was organised and promoted in the hope of stirring record company interest in the band but nothing concrete came of it apart from one unsatisfactory offer. Another notable performance was at the Pacific Circle Music Convention in Sydney, Australia in 1997. Anthony is still active and has released quite a body of work over 20+ years on his own Kings Union imprint, and two self-published books (Maymount Books), but with zero distribution to speak of these items are very difficult to get hold of. More details can be found on his myspace page -- see external links below. Anthony's books to date are "Driving My Car" (2001) and "The Rise and Fall of Billy the Blob" (2005), both published by MayMount. |

Search | Add | 4 | Port Talbot Cymric Male Choir | The Cymric as it is affectionately known is one of the oldest choirs in Wales having been established in 1911 by Mr John Bowen Davies. During the 1920’s and 30’s it competed regularly in local Eisteddfodau and during this period it sang at some unusual and interesting venues. In 1927 it fulfilled a week’s booking at The Palace Theatre Blackpool for the princely fee of £75.00, and in 1935 was invited by Randolph Hearst the newspaper magnate to sing at St Donat’s Castle in South Wales for celebrities of the film and newspaper world. The choir has had the privilege of appearing at The Royal Albert Hall in London in the presence of the Queen and HRH Prince Phillip and is extremely proud of the fact that during a concert tour of Deeside Aberdeenshire in 1990 the choir was invited to sing at Crathie Church Balmoral when both the Queen and HRH Prince Edward were in attendance. The Queen expressed her delight at the choirs singing and subsequently invited Choristers to Balmoral Castle. In May 1991 Rita Macneil , made a concert tour of the UK and during her appearance at St David’s Hall Cardiff she invited the Cymric on stage where she expressed her delight at the ‘Cymric’s rendition of her song ‘The Working Man’ and subsequently graciously allowed the choir to perform additional items. Since its inception the choir has had Six Musical Directors, On the death of John Bowen Davies in 1957 , the baton was handed over to Mrs Iris Evans Thomas who had been the Choir’s Accompanist since 1927. She remained the Musical Director until her death in 1973 when Roger Chicott who directed the Choir up until his regrettable passing in 2001 succeeded her. Mr Gareth Sims held the position until 2005, when he was succeeded Mrs Mair Jones who retired from the Choir in 2015. Matthew Lewis was appointed as the Choir’s Musical Director in October 2015 | |

Search | Add | 4 | High Red | High Red | Norwegian/American band based in Oslo, Norway Every once in a long while things just seem to come together naturally, as if they had been aligned in the stars, or perhaps by destiny. Such is the story of the creation of High Red. Hailing from the heartlands of both the United States and Norway, the combined members of the High Red are on a mission to spread their musical message to audiences the world over. With nothing short of awe-inspiring live performances, High Red will embark on a musical journey right in front of your eyes and ears. And all you have to do is witness. With countless appearances sharing the stage with world-class touring acts (Robben Ford, Michael Landau, Kirk Fletcher, etc) in Scandinavia, Europe, and the USA, it was only a matter of time before Jon, Per, Iver, and Adam were to embark on their own musical endeavor - as High Red. Drawing inspiration from heavy study and upbringing in gospel-infused soul music and playing the blues everywhere from Los Angeles to Stockholm, these boys create a genre-splitting version of urban sleek and rural grit. With Adam Douglas' vocal prowess and avant-garde guitar playing, Per Øystein Erstad's command of the bass, Jon Reidar Furulund's relentless groove behind the drum kit, Iver Olav Erstad's mastery of the Hammond Organ, Clavinet, Rhodes, and piano - High Red has a message for you… Are you ready to listen? Musicians: Adam Douglas, Iver Olav Erstad, Per Øystein Erstad, Markus Lillehaug Johnsen and Jon Reidar Furulund |
