Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Ultras S/C The band was formed in 2011 by [a=Jemina Pearl], [a=Ben Swank] and [a=Chet Weise]. Featuring members (and all the best parts) of Be Your Own Pet, Soledad Brothers and Immortal Lee County Killers rolled together for a blasting punk screed the likes of which haven't been heard round here since Pussy Galore's "Feel Good About Your Body" EP. Shit was distorted, in the red, raw and couldn't be more perfect....rock and roll the way it was meant to be. The group released two singles before calling it a day.

Search Add 2 Staffordshire Band The Staffordshire Band can trace its roots back to before the turn of the last century, when it was known as the Walsall Wood Institute Temperance Band. In the 1920's the band fell on hard times and became bankrupt, but out of the ashes the Aldridge Colliery Silver Prize Band was formed and rehearsed in a large garage in Brookland Road, Aldridge. Their first radio broadcast was on the BBC in the 1930's. During the Second World War, the band joined with the Bloxwich British Legion and Bescot Bands to become the Walsall Home Guard Band. In 1954 the band was renamed the Aldridge Town Band and, with the help of a Councellor Owen, were promised uniforms and instruments. Success followed in 1956 when the band was placed 5th at the National Brass Band Championships held at the Royal Albert Hall, Nottingham (the records do not make clear in which Section the band played). A month later, due to economic circumstances, the Council withdrew its promise to provide uniforms and instruments, however in 1957 events change again and the Council are able to present new instruments at a concert at the BRD.

Search Add 2 Preisthood Priesthood now consists of J-Raw, Mr. Swift and Chico Breeze. The group was founded in 1994 by J-Raw (junior Moaalii) and Papa Semm (Semi Tafao). The two came from different gospel rap groups. J-Raw was with a group called "Prophets of Peace" and Papa Semm was with "Next of Kin". In 1996 Mr. Swift was added to the line up. Name But the crew had been together playing shows, without a name, until Papa Semm presented, "Priesthood". This he saw in the Bible in Hebrews 7:24, "Because Jesus lives forever, we are a permanent Priesthood". Papa Semm left after the recording of "Turn up your radio" in 2002. He went to help his mother to run their church. Metro One Music Priesthood released an independent tape in late 1997 and was soon there after signed to Metro 1 Music, January 15,1999. Their debut "Sprinkle Me Luv", was released in stores, July 20th, 1999. The music is a mix of hip hop and R&B, which blends into a very soulful sound. Crew J-Raw or Junior Moaalii as he is known by friends and family was born in California, but was raised in American Samoa, an island within the South Pacific. He returned back to California in 1988. His parents were divorced and he finally ended in Lynwood where he stayed with his uncle and his family, who were devout followers of the Lord. J-Raw grew up listening to different styles of music in which later developed into a passion to write. He first started out in a group called "Prophet's Of Peace", who released a couple of independent CD's and he was also involved with a group from Compton, who had a group called "Village Crew Production". Then J-Raw decided to use his talents for God and founded Priesthood. Identity Mr. Swift (Kirk Douglas) was raised in a christian home, still he was searching for his identity. He didn't like the person, who he was. At a young age he accepted he needed Jesus in his life. He says about that time "So, I asked Jesus into my life personally and from the age of 15 he's never left me". Foundation Adam Maaele is Chici Breeze, who was born and raised in Carson, California. Adam was heavily involved in gangs, but had his grandparents and other people praying for him. This laid the foundation for the change in the lifestyle he was leading. In the year 1994 he accepted God. Now he's married and has four daughters.

Search Add 2 Sardineta Band formed around 1977, with musicians from [a1990123] and [a3653187]. Their style was very close to early [a1235971], trying to perform a repertoire close to the people, reclaiming the streets performance and the spirit of popular romerias. The music of Sardineta was a blend of Catalonian rumba, salsa, pasodoble, cha-cha-cha, jotas, habaneras or rock, adding some theatrical manners and a libertarian attitude. After a single published in 1978, they've released a self-titled LP in 1979. They definitely disbanded in 1980.

Search Add 2 360band 360 is Malcolm ‘Molly’ Duncan (sax) Steve Ferrone (drums) and Hamish Stuart (guitar, bass and vocals): exactly one half of the original Average White Band. After the demise of the AWB in 1982, Steve joined Duran Duran: followed by a long spell with Eric Clapton. Steve subsequently became the drummer in Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers – where he has remained for the last 24 years! Molly has been much in demand as a session player and soloist all over Europe and has toured with the likes of Ray Charles, Buddy Guy and Eurythmics. Hamish joined Paul McCartney’s band in the late 80’s for 6 years of record-breaking world tours and 5 albums. He has since peppered his own solo career with US tours as part of Ringo’s All Starr’s – in addition to writing and touring with his own band and producing albums for an array of artists. In early 2014 Steve was inducted into the Drummer’s Hall Of Fame in LA. Molly and Hamish flew out to join up with a handful of stellar musicians to honour their old band mate and friend. All three clicked as if no time had passed since they’d last played together and enjoyed the experience so much that they vowed to do it again when schedules allowed. July 2015 provided the perfect window of opportunity. The guys were getting ready for a handful of sell out shows at Ronnie Scott’s and Edinburgh Queen’s Hall, when the offer to record an album materialized – so they returned to the recording studio to do what they do best. Molly and Steve each brought a song to the album and the rest is made up of a handful of songs from Hamish’s recent repertoire, plus a couple of classic covers. “Too Hip” is the final track on the album and an epic story about their friend and AWB’s original drummer: Robbie McIntosh, clocking in at seven minutes long. This reunion of three highly regarded musicians who have achieved so much together and separately, has produced a landmark album showcasing how their various talents have matured.
