Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Mateusz Michałkiewicz Mateusz Michałkiewicz Born in early 90s. Grew up in a small town somewhere in Opole voivodeship in Poland. Then he moved to Katowice. One of his first tracks has been registered in 2017 on his mobile – this can be considered as start of the music project. Active creation began after that and was based mainly on field recordings, experiments with musique concrete, noise and sampling. Over time, after accumulating huge amounts of materials he started to work on his laptop and edit sounds in DAW programs. Right after starting to work with music he came up with many ideas and along with the acquired experience a fruit of his work appeared – his first album named Prisoners of their own bodies. It was released by the label situated in Kołobrzeg – Plaża Zachodnia

Search Add 2 J. Lalah Simcoe J. Lalah Simcoe American folk singer and songwriter. Born Judy Fine February 8, 1944 in Los Angeles, California. Daughter of film composer [a3188803]. Lalah (Judy’s middle name, which she’s gone by since 1979) returned to California after the Womenfolk and has continued to write songs and occasionally perform. Over the years she also worked as an office manager, a ghostwriter and a personal counselor. During the 80’s she moved to Virginia, where she and her husband are now retired with their dog and four birds after 12 years’ ownership of the Bluegrass Grill and Bakery in Charlottesville. She has a daughter, a son and a granddaughter, all of whom are speaking to her, and like Jean plays mostly keyboard these days. Lalah is a selectively avid fiction reader, enjoys long walks with the family dog, and can teach anyone who can learn 3 chords to accompany themselves by ear on the piano. Her CD of original songs, “Lightspeed,” is a sort of autobiography beginning in the Womenfolk years. See more about Lalah on her website, www.jlalahsimcoe.com.

Search Add 2 Vito Frazzi Vito Frazzi (1888–1975) was an Italian composer and music educator. He taught piano, harmony and counterpoint at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory from 1912 until 1958. During his tenure at the Florence Conservatory, the composer established a friendship with [a=Ildebrando Pizzetti], a director of the conservatory in 1917–23, who influenced Frazzi's compositional style. Vito also taught at the [l=Accademia Musicale Chigiana] from 1936 to 1963. Some of his notable students included [a=Bruno Bartolozzi], [a=Bruno Bettinelli], [a=Valentino Bucchi], [a=Luigi Dallapiccola] and [a=Angelo Francesco Lavagnino]. Frazzi had been using an octatonic scale of alternating tones and semitones in his works extensively. He became one of the first composers to explore it and wrote two manuscripts, Scale alternate ("Alternating scales") in 1930 and I vari sistemi del linguaggio musicale ("The various systems of musical language") in 1960. Apart from symphonic, choral and chamber compositions, Vito Frazzi wrote a few operas. Re Lear, which is loosely based on [a=William Shakespeare]'s King Lear, was created in 1922–28 but not performed until the late thirties. He completed Don Chisciotte opera and wrote a libretto for it (derived from the Don Quijote by [a=Miguel de Cervantes] and [a=Miguel De Unamuno]'s Vida de Don Quijote y Sancho) between 1940 and 1950. Search Add 2 Lj Ugarte Lj Ugarte LJ Ugarte is an American Actor,Singer,Songwriter,Producer and Humanitarian Award Winner. born January 6th, 1981 in Brooklyn, New York. Captivated by the Arts from the early age of five, LJ began singing, taking dance and acting classes. His skill and talent developed over the years fueled by taking ballet. During his admittance into the Ballet Hispanico Dance Company, he was able to master the arts, even more, enjoying every moment. He embraced every opportunity to develop and diversify his love for arts within the entertainment field. This was a wonderful time for LJ. His family later moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. In 1997 Lj attended Palm Beach Lakes High school where he vigorously continued to study Acting. He excelled as an Actor both on stage and in front of the Camera using Sanford Meisner’s master technique. In addition, he continued his study of dance and in his senior year he had the chance to perform for the Florida Stage company in the production of “Gun play”. LJ later attended Keiser college in the study of computer graphic designing and imaging, between college he was working on starting his music career as a vocalist and songwriter the following college he began concentrating on his skills performing professionally at large venues with local artists at various nightclubs throughout the United States and Canada. He is currently in the process of writing and producing his own music with an eye toward much success within the mainstream of the Music industry. With his 90’s and millennium R&B moves and his braided hair vibe, LJ Ugarte's debut single wore its old school on its sleeve. In the course of two singles, LJ has vaulted from wanting to re-create the mood of the vintage soul to wanting to make his own combination of Maxwell and Eric Benet These two singles mark the return of the retro-soul movement that began taking shape several years ago. LJ is aiming to return the soul to a headier, more opulent era. Some new Hip Hop and R&B artist revel in a sometimes brazen, sometimes vulgar fusion of hip-hop and old-school-soul pleading.

He started singing at the age of 4 and through the next seven years he participated in many Welsh festivals of literature and song Eisteddfod, on which he achieved many successes. An important event in his child's career was also a performance at the famous London concert hall Royal Albert Hall. Huw, with ease and mastery, performs traditional Welsh songs, supported in some songs by a female choir. Surprisingly, the boy did not continue his career and his recordings today remain, quite wrongly, musical curiosities known only to a handful of interested people.

Search Add 2 Elastic Collision Between the year 1999 and 2001, Frank Ashley, Jr. and Ken Moore started meeting on a weekly basis to record improvised sessions direct to disc. The entire set-up filled two rooms with only two synthesizers (a Minimoog and an Emax by Emu Systems) and a lot of percussion. There were cymbals, gongs, bells, hand drums, triangles, a glockenspiel, bar chimes, hanging wind chimes, singing bowls and bowls that were made to sing. Frank played the keyboards for these recordings, creating short sequences on the Emax and leads on the Moog, while Ken moved about from table to table, playing whatever instruments were speaking to him at the time. They called themselves Elastic Collision, and their first album was completely live; it was titled "Listening at the Speed of Sleep". After that sold well to friends, Anvil Creations produced one other album called "Visitors Welcome". On this one, Ken added some percussion tracks to all the sessions, and played the bass guitar on some of them.
