These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

The name is based on a play on words in French "Anches d'où tout coule" (Reeds from which everything flows). Their first live occurred at MJC La Paillette in March 1978, together with [a556251] on bass under the moniker of "Anches doo too cool badaboom duo". The main duet plays in Brest, and tours in the Briton clubs during Summer 1978. They are also programmed during the 1st [l420072] in June 1979. In Summer 1980, the duet records demos of the "[r=2404872]" LP. They then record at [l324109] during Fall 1980, with a few guests: Nicole Calloc'h sings on a track, [a350153] reads a text on another, Jean-Pierre Ghez eructs here and there, whilst [a1077077] manages the electronics. The LP is released end of 1980. Only few lives were programmed afterwards mainly at Jazz festivals, but on the 19th of October 1981, the duet recorded a live album at L'église Toussaint in Rennes, called "[r=2433495]". It was released early 1982, at the same period than the Sax Pustuls' LP "[m=1548709]", but 2 weeks prior its release Paboeuf leaved the formation to join [a1584494]. The duet is gonna reform for a night in February 1985, for the showing of the "Purple Rain" movie, in Rennes. But they reunite officially at [l1519853] in Paris end of 1985. A few concerts were made in 1986 including [l486869], followed by a Tour end of 1986 which concluded on the 1st night of the [l420072] at the "[a18700] et ses amis" event. Another Tour started in January 1987 in Le Mans, Lyon, Montpellier, and the 12th of February 1987 at Salle Vilar, Rennes. In march 1987, they recorded their 3rd LP at [l327290] in Paris. Guests: [a1074423] on mandolin, [a383887] on bass on a few tracks only, and Hector Zazou on machines programming. [r=2731695] is released in June 1987. In July, they are listed for the [l706622] festival and returned in January 1988 to play at [l420082]. For the [l706622] in July 1988, the duet became a sextet called "Anches doo too cool sexes-têtes". 3 of the guests were part of the 17 persons big band led by Philippe Herpin aka Pinpin, "Prof Pinpin et ses Funk Noz". The band then welcomed Gilles Habile on keys and [a879247] on drums. Their final LP [m=1434251] is released in 1990, before they disband. | |

| Search | Add | 5 | Gary Wakenhut | Multi-instrument musician from Michigan Gary Wynn Wakenhut of Vanderbilt, MI, (formerly of Lakeview) passed away at Hiland Cottage Hospice House in Petoskey on February 22, 2017. He was born in 1940 in Jackson, Michigan to Wynn and Arlene Wakenhut. When Gary was 10 years old, his mother gave him the clarinet she had played in high school. She also quoted Albert Switzer as saying, “You will never know how much your music will mean to you.” And indeed, music was a profound influence in his life. He played in bands and orchestras; in Ann Arbor and Northville high schools, MSU’s marching and concert bands, his own big band and the Flat River Big Band, Greenville’s Danish Band, numerous pit orchestras and community bands and choirs, The Grand Rapids Symphonic Band and Chamber Winds. He met Anne Wunsch, in the Traverse City Symphony and they were married June 11, 1966 in Omena. They created a musical duo (The Collecting Consort) that performed throughout Michigan for over 30 years. Gary earned his BA in Radio and Television Production from MSU in 1962 and worked as the supervisor of recording at Interlochen for 10 years. He returned to MSU and earned an MA in Guidance and Personnel Services in 1968. He worked as a counselor for 10 years at the Montcalm County Mental Health Center and in a private practice for 15 years. He also taught part time at Montcalm Community College. Following Albert Switzer’s example, Gary devoted his life to “making this world a better place”. It gave him great joy to encourage everyone he met to reach their greatest potential. Throughout his life he volunteered in many capacities including Hospice of Michigan, Montcalm County Commission on Aging, church committees, prisons re-entry programs, Lakeview Seniors (he originated), and many other community organizations. He was known as the “Flute Man” (a Certified Music Practitioner) in many hospitals, Hospice and assisted living facilities. He and Anne traveled to New Orleans after Katrina to play music at Christmas and also taught at an orphanage in Kenya. In 2014, Gary and Anne moved to Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat where he created promotional videos and worked on many environmental and developmental committees. He produced 13 Collecting Consort recordings, wrote and produced numerous radio programs for NPR, and many DVD’s. He trained as a Spiritual Director through the Grand Rapids Dominican Center, accompanying many in their spiritual journey. He wrote a book for parents and produced many programs for school assemblies, church programs and other organizations. He was a serious gardener who loved to share his knowledge and the fruits of his labor with everyone. He was a kind, patient, accepting, creative soul who deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is now gently nurturing seedlings and making healing music on the other side. Gary is survived by his wife of fifty years, Anne Wakenhut of Vanderbilt; daughter, Jennifer (Jerry) Johnson of Winn and son, Michael Wakenhut of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Jessup Hetzman (Jessica Mikel) of Alma, Alyshia (Jordan) Ramon of Crystal, Kane Johnson of Winn, Kaleb Hetzman (Brittinie Finch) of Riverdale, Westyn Gary Holmes, Annie Jane Holmes and Jamie Johnson of Winn; seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Isabelle, Casey, Matthew, Kayden, Luke and Greyson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Jane Wunsch Isaacsen and fathers-in-law Dr. Richard Wunsch and Ernest Isaacsen. | |

In 1936, following her graduation from Vassar College, she and her husband, Dan Wells, visited the San Cristóbal, New Mexico, ranch of Freida Lawrence, the widow of D. H. Lawrence. In 1937, they bought a ranch in San Cristóbal and moved to New Mexico. Soon after, they founded a school on the property for grades 5–12 for boarders and daytime students. A classically trained musician, Vincent visited Taos-area schools where she played Mexican folk songs, although school administrators, pushing for assimilation, forbade speaking Spanish in classrooms. She also traveled from town to town, recording local musicians singing and playing old folk songs, frequently in Spanish. In 1943, Vincent became the Taos County representative for the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, which, according to a biography, was "a milestone for her personal and political maturation. In this work she found meaningful expression and practical application for her growing political convictions.” That same year, Vincent joined the Communist Party. Vincent and Wells were divorced in the early 1940s. In 1949, she married Craig Vincent. They remained at the San Cristóbal property, converting the school to a guest ranch. Its mission was "not to raise livestock" but to "foster a community among progressives looking for a refuge from the battles of the Cold War".[5] Among other political and social causes, the Vincents supported the Chicano Movement and the 1951 Salt of the Earth Strike. Believing that music was a vehicle for social advocacy, Vincent played with like-minded musicians including Pete Seeger, Paul Robeson, Woody Guthrie, Malvina Reynolds and Earl Robinson. Unanimiedad was his debut single with only two tracks: “A Trabajar” and “El Mueble”, just five minutes of timeless and elegant pop in the vein of Teenage Fanclub or Love. Manu Ferrón is well known in Spain as the co-leader of Grupo de Expertos Solynieve (where the other 50% is Jota, of Los Planetas' fame), and also as the writer of several minor hits for a few independent bands. Recently, he has also been collaborating on the Spanish translation of Franco Battiato's last album lyrics. And now he is blowing our heads off with his brand new 10'', Misericordia, five songs almost entirely made of choruses and epiphanies, wonderfully and strangely entwined with artists such as Big Star, Randy Newman or Guided by Voices. Quoting Heraclitus, you'll never play the same song twice, and that's exactly what happens with “Cara de Astro”. Originally composed in 1993, it has been on a constant journey through languages, titles, lineups and intentions. Now, it's all about the famous quote by Uruguayan football player Enzo “El Príncipe” Francescoli, who once literally said that “you just can only play well when you can and when they let you do it” . “Cara de Astro” is full of energy and has an effervescent approach to the listener, exemplifying an essential motivation for Manu: Do it NOW. Do it now, instead of “I would prefer not to” (classic Bartleby, the Scrivener). But now, it's the perfect time. “Me quedo”, apparently a “girl-meets-boy” song, could be also understood as a “man in front of the mirror” or a “world, oh, world, listen to me” story. The chords that surround it could remind you of Robert Pollard with a dark, psychedelic, twist. There is also a slight, smart, even casual reference to traditional Andalusian music. Landing between Zumpano or Teenage Fanclub, this 10” has also pop-like revenges against intellectual elites, like “Enemigo que Huye”, “Precisamente de esta manera” –maybe the one more close to indie-rock tradition, or the jewel in the crown, “Secreto a voces” where Ferrón witty talks about the rottenness of artistic creation and the fake truths that, with our tacit approval, are killing art and feeding the mass culture industry. Misericordia is anchored with songs deeply filled with melodies sounding like survivors from a wild storm that finally land home, getting more and more close to perfection after bloody fights with inner devils. All of them are inhabited with emotions, memories, proclaims, and spiritual, almost private stuff, a gift for the wise listener. |

In 1999 I spray-painted the Singel Studio (37 x 11 meter) together with a friend I met in the Dutch graffiti scene (Delta). During this same period I got involved in a group exhibition called "Post Graffiti, which helped me gain a lot of public attention. By that time I had my mind set up on learning more about graphic design and at the end of the year I went to Los Angeles, were I worked as a trainee at a small design studio were i learned to work with computers and the graphic design process. Back in Amsterdam The Mazzo Nightclub commissioned me to do a mural in their club, i asked an old friend (Christiaan Dros) to help me out. The exhibition became a success, so we decided to start up our own illustration company and called it: "Zender & Chaos". During this period we produced an enormous amount of illustrations and backdrops for the nightlife scene, painted a coffee shop (the Global Chillage) and their nightclub in Spain. We did as well a lot of illustrations for an art agency called Shop Around until Chris and i went our separate ways and I started working as a freelance artist. At first I did a lot of work as a freelance Graphic designer for Boomerang (a company that produces free postcards) which made me understand how the graphic industry works here in Holland. Today i am back working as a freelance graphic designer and with two other freelance artist we began a little company called KGB (Kreativ grapic buro), working for various clients. I am also represented by Artbox a Creative Art Agency. Next to my graphic job i love to play music as a DJ and organize the Rendez-Vous events with the intention to stimulate creativity. There he spent most of his life, with the exception of several years when his parent took him to their native Yugoslavia. There he attended school, learning the native language, customs, and folklore. It became a real asset to him in later years pursuing his music career. After returning to the United States, he lived in West Virginia, playing the banjo and saxophone, but soon turned to the tamburitza (brac). Since then he became a major figure in Yugoslavian and ethnic music as a singer and brac and cello player. As a singer, it is difficult to describe his voice ... an effortless strong tenor that has thrilled and inspired all who have heard him. There is no better description than "Yoy!" He formed his first tamburitza orchestra in 1929, with his brothers joining him in Chicago. In his orchestra he had many outstanding musicians such as Art Milacek, Vaso Bukvich, Djoko Dokich, Mel Dokich, Matt Jursich, and Bella Balog to mention a few. He began his teaching career as the mentor of his brothers, Frank, Louis, and Adam, and he taught young tamburitzans since 1950. He did much to encourage Yugoslavian youth and to keep the tamburitza alive in America. Several currently well-known tambura players began their career as Marty's pupils. In the late 1940s and 50s, his orchestra established a nightclub known as "The Tamburitza Cafe", featuring his tamburitza orchestra. Their music included Yugoslav and other continental styles, as well as light classics. Among many distinguished guests, Tamburitza Cafe was frequently visited by members of the famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In the late 1950s, Marty and his tamburitzans performed weekly for a radio program over radio station WTAQ. The program was called "The Balkan Musical Caravan", and was under the direct sponsorship of the Balkan Music Company of Chicago. The announcer was the well known, international music program director, Rudy Orisek. Rudy Orisek's "International Cafe" television show featured Marty's orchestra in solo performances as well as the accompaniment for internationally renowned artists, such as Martha Schlame, Judy Henske, the well known gypsy violinist David Romaine, and many more. Marty's work is preserved in his many recordings; so numerous, in fact, that it would be difficult to list them all. He made recordings for RCA Victor, Decca, Continental, Columbia, and Zora, but his favorite company was and still is Balkan Records. Besides his own recordings, he accompanied well known Yugoslavian artists such as Vinka Ellesin (crowned 'Queen of Sevdah'), Edo Lubich, Rasha Radenkovich, Urash Seferovich, and many more. He also arranged several Yugoslav songs, among them his favorite "Nema Miga Cange", recorded on Balkan Records. Marty and his tamburitza orchestra toured the United States several times, concertizing with many famous musicians, such as the late Dave Zupkovich. The friends and fans he made during these tours still cherish his recordings. Besides being a conscientious tamburas, Marty is also, as his many affectionate friends insist, a 'regular guy'. Besides being kind, good-natured, and helpful, he belongs to several Yugoslav clubs and other organizations. He was the first tamburas in the Chicago area that joined the musicians' union, and he was a member of the defunct Chicago Tamburitza Club. Presently, besides teaching young tamburitza orchestras, Marty plays for many Yugoslav programs, dances, weddings, and picnics. Members of his group are his brother Frank Kapugi, Urosh Mamula, and Steve Makarovich. Marty Kapugi and his "Sar Planina Orchestra" have done a truly extraordinary job in bringing tamburitza music to many Americans of varied ethnic backgrounds. His work will not be forgotten for many years to come. Congratulations, Marty, on a job well done. |

| Search | Add | 5 | Dorian Passante | Kenneth Dorian Passante | Originally released in 1977 but apparently recorded at least a couple years before, the “Dorian” LP was supposed to launch Dorian (Kenneth Dorian Passante, 1948-1994) as a glam rock artist. The name Dorian Zero (with different variations such as Dorian & Zero, Dorian Zero Revue and so on) was his band name, but seems to also stick to his own persona. The album and a single taken from it were also documented by John Holmstrom in a memorable – and disastrous – interview on Punk Magazine #14 (1978). Omitting to credit the other musicians involved in the making of the LP – including guitarist [a=Jeff Beck] on “Destination Nowhere” and “Inside Looking Out” – Dorian declared on the original album cover “I have no one to thank for this album but myself”. Before recording the album, Dorian had been on an elusive 7" single released in 1969 by [l=B.T. Puppy Records], the record label founded by [a=The Tokens], with a track written by [a=Brute Force (2)] ([a=Stephen Friedland]). Other tracks were only fixed on acetates and remained unreleased. Some are entirely lost. In 2022, a previously unreleased reggae track from 1975, "In Transit to Bermuda", recorded at [l=Electric Lady Studios] by [a=Eddie Kramer], was included in Episode 3 of Stranger Things 4 (Vol.1) and in the Stranger Things Official Playlist. |

Williams began making his music available in digital format online soon afterwards, with a self-described aim to “sound like the Beach Boys strung out on barbiturates playing in some sort of wind tunnel.” The singles "Never Fun/Soother", "It’s Sort Of Like Being A Long Way From Home, All The Time" and an eponymous debut EP were released in 2013. Viscous Liquid gained recognition in Reading's local indie music scene, as well as praise from alternative music critics and publications such as Sounds Better With Reverb. A second EP followed, "Songs For Jealous Lovers", featuring added vocal harmonies and a broader, jangle-pop sound. The more expansive, psychedelic "Infinity Pool" EP was released later the same year.
