Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 Buried Faith BURIED FAITH is an American thrash metal band based out of Boise, Idaho. The band was formed in the spring of 2023. Once formed the band chemistry came easy and the focus was put on writing and recording music. The band notes musical influences from artists such as Sodom, Kreator, Venom, Slayer and Nifelheim. Listeners can feel the power of those influences on the studio recordings and live performances. The band champions the sound of thrash metal from the 1980's. HANSI HILMER fronts the band with wicked vocals that torches souls. He is a huge staple of the 80's German and U.S. metal scene and is a founding member of the Destroyer 1985 Heavy Metal Club. AARON CRANDALL is a wizard on the fretboard. He also shines as a songwriter. His leads are lightning fast and on point. DONNY MARTINEZ is a pure thrash drummer and a monster keeping the beat. A heavy-handed killer. JASON EMRY holds duties on the bass. A true old school punk/metal power unit. BURIED FAITH self-produced debut album "Blackened Skies, Open Graves" will be available on streaming platforms February 28th, 2025. CDs will also be available on that date.

Search Add 5 M.C. Mr. Tink Christopher Lang Born and raised on the streets of Compton California, a highly decorated gang member and street pharmacist, already an up and coming talent in the underground rap community. Chris's long time friend the late Johnny Burns aka- Mr. Mausberg was inspired by Chris to fallow his dreams as a reality rap artist, Mausberg was killed in the summer of 2000. Chris Lang's life would forever be changed during the summer of 1997. This transformation will forever be remembered as the new birth of "Trip C" (Chris Crazy for Christ). With the renewing of his heart, mind, and spirit, Trip C has fully launched himself in the use and the perfecting his gift by bringing the word of God to the streets from whence he came, through the medium of rap. Vowing to never again write lyrics that kill, but create lyrics that up lift and wins souls for the true and living God. Trip C states "for we are not chosen by the Lord to be entertainers, but vessels used according to his will and purpose". Searching for answers, looking to fill a void, and a desire to quench his thirst for knowledge, Trip C began a migration southward. Through the direction of the Holy Spirit, Trip C found himself in Oceanside, Ca. under the leadership and direction of Dr.'s Clarence & Josephine Crayton, Faith Temple Christian Center.Collaborating with Grapetree recording artist Crow, on his current release "The Method of Attack", Trip C's hunger to minister the Word, and obedience to the Holy Spirit has grown into a roaring fire, Trip C has launched his own independent Gospel Label, "All for Jesus" Records (AFJ), on which his debut project, "The New School Testament", will be released. AFJ's main focus will be to bring the word to the lost and save souls.Trip C's contributions to the world of gospel rap, with heated lyrics of salvation and prosperity can only be matched through the love and support displayed by his loving wife Nathia.Revelations 2:7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God."

The instrumentation was soon supplemented by a washboard, a tea box with broomstick and clothesline became bass, the skiffle group was complete. The CADDIES have been one of the longest-serving Skiffle Groups in Northern Germany after 46 years of their existence, but have remained faithful to their musical roots, skiffle music.

Oxygyn is composed of sibling duo Kurt Abela and Katia Abela, with lyrics written by Kurt Abela, music composed by J A N J U produced by Funky Monkey and Zack on guitar. Our aim is to make music that inspires others, the same music has always inspired us, by exploring important human and social issues through song. Oxygyn was established in December 2015, with the release of our debut original single CORRODE. The song reached No.2 on Malta’s Top 10 Chart (89.7 BAY), and the music video has garnered over 14,000 views on YouTube. We followed this up with WOLVES WITHOUT TEETH, a cover version of the song originally released by Of Monsters & Men, in September 2016. In 2017, we started transitioning from acoustic and piano-based music into a more modern and polished sound that like to describe as indie-pop. We got to perform at several local music festivals for the first time, including the Farsons Beer Festival, Rock the South and the Beland Music Festival, and we also opened for Joe Roscoe during a gig in July. This evolution culminated in the release of our original single BUBBLEWRAP in November 2017, which debuted with radio play on XFM 100.2’s Big Drive Home with Trudy Kerr, and was accompanied by an elaborate music video produced by 141 Records. BUBBLEWRAP reached No.1 on Malta’s Top 10 Chart (89.7 BAY) in January 2018, and the music video reached over 11,000 people on social media in a matter of weeks. In 2020, we hope to release more original material and to continue performing it lives for diverse audiences. Follow us on our social media platforms to stay tuned for more info about upcoming music, gigs and more.

Search Add 5 Gary Wakenhut Multi-instrument musician from Michigan Gary Wynn Wakenhut of Vanderbilt, MI, (formerly of Lakeview) passed away at Hiland Cottage Hospice House in Petoskey on February 22, 2017. He was born in 1940 in Jackson, Michigan to Wynn and Arlene Wakenhut. When Gary was 10 years old, his mother gave him the clarinet she had played in high school. She also quoted Albert Switzer as saying, “You will never know how much your music will mean to you.” And indeed, music was a profound influence in his life. He played in bands and orchestras; in Ann Arbor and Northville high schools, MSU’s marching and concert bands, his own big band and the Flat River Big Band, Greenville’s Danish Band, numerous pit orchestras and community bands and choirs, The Grand Rapids Symphonic Band and Chamber Winds. He met Anne Wunsch, in the Traverse City Symphony and they were married June 11, 1966 in Omena. They created a musical duo (The Collecting Consort) that performed throughout Michigan for over 30 years. Gary earned his BA in Radio and Television Production from MSU in 1962 and worked as the supervisor of recording at Interlochen for 10 years. He returned to MSU and earned an MA in Guidance and Personnel Services in 1968. He worked as a counselor for 10 years at the Montcalm County Mental Health Center and in a private practice for 15 years. He also taught part time at Montcalm Community College. Following Albert Switzer’s example, Gary devoted his life to “making this world a better place”. It gave him great joy to encourage everyone he met to reach their greatest potential. Throughout his life he volunteered in many capacities including Hospice of Michigan, Montcalm County Commission on Aging, church committees, prisons re-entry programs, Lakeview Seniors (he originated), and many other community organizations. He was known as the “Flute Man” (a Certified Music Practitioner) in many hospitals, Hospice and assisted living facilities. He and Anne traveled to New Orleans after Katrina to play music at Christmas and also taught at an orphanage in Kenya. In 2014, Gary and Anne moved to Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat where he created promotional videos and worked on many environmental and developmental committees. He produced 13 Collecting Consort recordings, wrote and produced numerous radio programs for NPR, and many DVD’s. He trained as a Spiritual Director through the Grand Rapids Dominican Center, accompanying many in their spiritual journey. He wrote a book for parents and produced many programs for school assemblies, church programs and other organizations. He was a serious gardener who loved to share his knowledge and the fruits of his labor with everyone. He was a kind, patient, accepting, creative soul who deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is now gently nurturing seedlings and making healing music on the other side. Gary is survived by his wife of fifty years, Anne Wakenhut of Vanderbilt; daughter, Jennifer (Jerry) Johnson of Winn and son, Michael Wakenhut of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Jessup Hetzman (Jessica Mikel) of Alma, Alyshia (Jordan) Ramon of Crystal, Kane Johnson of Winn, Kaleb Hetzman (Brittinie Finch) of Riverdale, Westyn Gary Holmes, Annie Jane Holmes and Jamie Johnson of Winn; seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Isabelle, Casey, Matthew, Kayden, Luke and Greyson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Jane Wunsch Isaacsen and fathers-in-law Dr. Richard Wunsch and Ernest Isaacsen.

Search Add 5 Санаторий Тараскуль Sanatoriy Taraskul (Russian: Санаторий Тараскуль) is a post-punk project formed in 2021 in Tyumen, Russia, by brothers [a=Aleksandr Simbirskiy] and [a=Jesse Foster (4)]. Their music blends Eastern European post-punk and coldwave with influences from synthpop, Siberian punk/garage rock, alternative rock/metal, and even death and black metal. Sanatoriy Taraskul's sound is characterized by simple yet effective minor key melodies, complemented by a cold, muddy and reverbed soundscape. This is punctuated by darker chromatic licks, unexpected modulations, noise-like distortion, and occasional brighter sections that contrast with the lyrics. Lyricist and band ideologue Aleksandr Simbirskiy draws inspiration from the darker aspects of the human life. His lyrics explore themes of depression, bleak landscapes, fractured relationships, societal cruelty, and mental and emotional suffering. These often result in songs marked by raw despair and negativity, offering unambiguously desperate answers to existential questions.

During her childhood years she lived the harsh life of a refugee, but was also surrounded with the humane solidarity of the refugee communities. That is where she acquired her deep connection with popular culture and her aptitude to participate. It was in these surroundings that she also came into contact with music for the first time and where she acquired her love for folk music. At the age of thirteen, whilst attending night school, Domna Samiou also began to receive her first formal musical training from Simon Karas at the Association for the Dissemination of National Music, where she was tutored in Byzantine and Folk music, as well as being introduced to the idea of field research in music. Her first professional collaboration with the National Radio Foundation (E.I.R.)3 started when she was a member of the Simon Karas choir. In 1954 she became a full time employee of the station, working in the ‘National Music Section’4. Through her work there, she came in contact with the leading traditional musicians of the day, who were part of the greater migration wave at the time from the countryside to Athens. The National Music Section was busy recording such musicians and as a result, she became acquainted with all the various local musical styles. At the same time she was conducting the musical supervision for records, theatrical programs and films. In 1963 she started touring the countryside independently, to record music for the archive she was establishing, using her own means and equipment. In 1971 Domna Samiou left her radio job and importantly, later in the year, accepted an invitation by the composer and performer Dionysis Savvopoulos to start performing at a club called Rodeo, (see The first concerts) frequented by a youthful anti-junta5 audience. This marked the beginning of Domna Samiou's impact on the appreciation of folk music by the younger generations in Greece. Soon after she performed at the English Bach Festival in London, which was being run by Lila Lalandi at the time. It was a triumphant start to a brilliant musical career. 'It made people overcome the embarrassment they felt for folk music' as she herself stated later.

Search Add 5 Return To The Sabbat Martin Walkyier, Frazer Craske and Simon Jones unofficially reformed UK thrash act Sabbat with Skyclad drummer Jay Graham under the name Return To The Sabbat in 2001. Andy Newby later replaced Simon Jones towards the end of the bands life. The goal to become one of the greatest pagan bands of all time being the aim, the band started spreading promotional dollar bills with the band logo on. The band did UK shows and performed at festivals but after a couple of years the band disbanded. Besides the promotional dollar bill, the band also made and sold a promotional DVD-r disc featuring live material from the UK in 2003 but that would be it. Sabbat would later in 2006, officially reform with their classic 1989 Dreamweaver line-up and the band would continue to play live up until Dec 2010.

Search Add 5 Nicky Hilton Raymond Ensor a 16-year-old singer from Coventry named Nicky Hilton, with a slightly goofy song ‘Your Nose Is Gonna Grow’. Nicky’s real name was Raymond Ensor. He was from the Stoke area of Coventry and went to Briton Road Stoke Secondary Modern School, where he played rugby and football and excelled in English. His singing career began when visiting The Stoke Ex Club and he realised that’s what he wanted to do. He ended up singing in the club after winning an audition, earning £3 entertaining on Saturday and Sunday nights. He was eventually spotted at a singing competition in London by artist manager Lena Davies who, along with her husband David Taylor, took Nicky onto their books, with Lena becoming his manager. Nicky was earning an enviable £40 a week in those days, not bad for a 16-year-old in 1962. Indeed, he was often seen driving around in his 1959 Ford Consul, driven by his brother (and Road Manager) Peter Ensor. Your Nose is Gonna Grow was a song that has a great verse, but a chorus that could have done with a little bit of work. Having said that, Emile Ford, Johnny Crawford and Christine Quaite, all had versions of the song on release, though none of them charted. That didn't stop Parlophone releasing a second single by Nicky Hilton ‘I'm Gonna Lock My Heart Away and Throw Away The Key’, though that too failed to make any impact on the charts. It’s testament to Nicky’s talent when another major label Decca Records, signed him and released in 1965 what would be his last ever single ‘Give Us Your Blessing’. Needless to say this too failed to chart. Nicky had an all time wish to play at the Coventry Theatre , whether he ever achieved it I have no idea.

Search Add 5 Ami Collé Dieng Amy Collé Dieng Amy Collé Dieng is part of a younger generation of female singers in Senegal. Born in the town of Thies, 70 km East of Dakar, she grew up in Dakar. Youssou N'Dour has seen her sing when she was young, and she remained in contact with him over the years. Since 2003, she has been part of Youssou's Super Etoile de Dakar as a backing vocal. Amy participated in international tours with the Super Etoile, also following the release of « Egypt », the Grammy Award-winning album with traditional musicians from Dakar as well as Egypt [1]. Amy also sang as backing vocal with Ndongo Lo and Kiné Lam [2]. In 2006, Amy Collé recorded her first album « Defar Ba Mou Baax » for the label Jololi, the label of Youssou N'Dour. The album was an instant success, and the title song is still a well-loved song in Senegal. The success seemed to have a side-effect as well, as in 2009, the singer started a legal procedure against a publicity company because of unauthorised use of the song in a TV ad for Rama butter in Senegal [3]. In 2011, she leaves Jololi and signs with the Dub Records label in the Netherlands. Amy Collé recorded with Dub Records her second album «Maturité » in 2013. With popular new songs such as « Naby », « Fans Yi » and « Sama Choix », several high-standard video clips were made, and plans were ready for an international tour. In 2019, she came back with a single « Muñel », again for Prince Arts.

Search Add 5 Dorian Passante Kenneth Dorian Passante Originally released in 1977 but apparently recorded at least a couple years before, the “Dorian” LP was supposed to launch Dorian (Kenneth Dorian Passante, 1948-1994) as a glam rock artist. The name Dorian Zero (with different variations such as Dorian & Zero, Dorian Zero Revue and so on) was his band name, but seems to also stick to his own persona. The album and a single taken from it were also documented by John Holmstrom in a memorable – and disastrous – interview on Punk Magazine #14 (1978). Omitting to credit the other musicians involved in the making of the LP – including guitarist [a=Jeff Beck] on “Destination Nowhere” and “Inside Looking Out” – Dorian declared on the original album cover “I have no one to thank for this album but myself”. Before recording the album, Dorian had been on an elusive 7" single released in 1969 by [l=B.T. Puppy Records], the record label founded by [a=The Tokens], with a track written by [a=Brute Force (2)] ([a=Stephen Friedland]). Other tracks were only fixed on acetates and remained unreleased. Some are entirely lost. In 2022, a previously unreleased reggae track from 1975, "In Transit to Bermuda", recorded at [l=Electric Lady Studios] by [a=Eddie Kramer], was included in Episode 3 of Stranger Things 4 (Vol.1) and in the Stranger Things Official Playlist.
