Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

These ingredients come together and form different and innovative pace with "We Five", a group of five capixabas artists, they decided to blend their sound and influences that make the fans and themselves describe as "musiqualidade", a term which also gives its name to the first CD, released in 2010. The lyrics are poetry everyday and do not forego a touch of romanticism. Are new compositions of Nano Vianna also responsible for vocal and guitar; Renato Furtado on guitar and backing vocals; Pedro Costa on sax; and Tarcisio Louzada, drums and backing vocals and Vitor Rigoni on bass. With the talent and inspiration of the quintet in Dave Matthews Band, Djavan, Lenine, among others, the result could not be better! The musicians have a long journey, especially in the scenario musicultural capixaba and their respective artists and bands. The poet Nano Vianna had verses interpreted by artists Itaboray and Katia Simone Rocha; Renato Furtado has done work with Tamy and Daniel Moraes singers; Pedro Mario joined Captain Guapo group; Tarcisio Louzada already passed through several bands of the scene as Nave, Riddle, Escaranovos, Tequila Brown, Dallas Country, Amaro Lima, Alexandre Lima, Dani Moraes and others; Vitor Rigoni is the youngest of the band and has done work with the Mafia and Tabacarana bands and singers Gardenia Marques and Denise Dalmacchio and is the academic component of the band, formed in Music UFES - Federal University of Espírito Santo.

Search Add 6 Fokkewolf Garage/Punk rock band from England. Formed in 1996. Daz and Paul needed a guitar player after splitting another band going nowhere. Clarky, a sparring partner from the old hardcore days fitted the bill perfectly (they played briefly together in FORCEFED). After a few gigs they cut Bullet Festival EP in the same year but didn't release it. Played a rack of gigs in the UK. More recording followed. This resulted in the DEATHRAY EP. Some frenzied live activity accompanied the record. Then came the legendary KICK ARSE EP, inspired by the film 'Brain Dead'. A track from it was put on a Frank Records comp which spread the word about the band around Europe. The EP was played on the Peel show in the UK, and they were invited to do a session by the great man himself!! Then Barny from Incognito asked them for a record for his anniversary release series. This spawned the PORNO ROCKER anthem. The band then split for various personal reasons, and things lay fallow for a while. All seemed dead until founder member Smith reformed the band with new members and tied up some loose end songs written before the split. That's it!

Search Add 6 The D-Gen's Between 2009 and 2010 the band sold 1100 total discs of their first 2 demo cds, selling them via Facebook, Myspace, and at basement and backyard shows across Long Island, NY. Kenny Jockel has run Infernal Trinity Records since 2006, after his collaborative work with AreaDeath Productions in 2006-2007 led to an internationally distributed CD from his friends Ritual Sacrifice that sold out of 1000 copies in 2 weeks. He wrote the 3-page bio, designed the booklet, wrote the liner notes, and supplied the band with the recordings since they had long lost all their demo material, all at age 16. This led to his formation of ITR and his motivation to run the ultimate DIY label free of outside influence and corruption, and providing his services to local true-metal bands 100% Free so they can get their music out there and make moderate-money without sacrifice any degree of creative control. The bands merchandise, 2 different patches made on fully-handbuilt silkscreen presses, 12" vinyl sleeves pro-printed and assembled by hand, t-shirts designed and silkscreened by the band, and the approx. 1100 demo cd's (200 with one of 4 different handdrawn covers done by each member) and 100 CD EP's (made on band-purchased surplus factory-standard blank discs so they are silver on the bottom) is always made by hand with emphasis on uniqueness, collect-ability and aesthetic value. The bands motto printed on the back of the T-Shirts and bottom of the official press-packs (always flanked by inverted crosses), was "D.I.Y. 'Till We Fuckin' Die! F.T.S. - SVS - S9S - Fuck the rest!!" They were praised by internationally renowned acts like Militia, Spectral Incursion, and members of Decimation for their young age and for crafting their own sound combining influences from D.R.I. to Terror to Burzum to Integrity. to Midnight, without sounding like any of the above but still making their influences clear. Mike Soliz of Militia said of their second Demo CD "this is the best crossover we've heard since 87-88, if you can make it to Texas we'll split a bill with you anytime!!" (all members of Militia wrote to the band to give input on their respective instruments).

Search Add 6 The Better Way Quartet Bluegrass Gospel Quartet Union County gospel group that started jamming about 1978, which included Jerry Cole, Sr., Bill Turner, Neal Walker, and Dannie Peters. Then they became known as Union Grass, a bluegrass and bluegrass gospel band. As Union Grass started singing southern gospel songs, their first singing engagement was at Oak Grove Church in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee. Nancy Cole came up with a new name for Union Grass, that would cover bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, southern gospel and country gospel. The new name was The Betterway Quartet. Expanded its booking area from East Tennessee to eventually include 10 states. Betterway now was booking larger churches and festivals, and appearing on Mull’s TV Show on Channel 10 in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 1982, Mull’s Gospel Show featuring Betterway played to a packed crowd at Horace Maynard High School at Maynardville, Tennessee, their home county. At this time, Shannon Walker became Betterway’s manager and their bookings greatly increased. They were performing at concerts with The Primitive Quartet, The Paynes, The Spencers, The Inspirations and The Cooks. They also performed regularly on WJBZ 96.3 that was Mull’s radio station. They performed on television in Indiana, Ohio and Bristol, Tennessee. They were also featured on Grant Turner’s Early Bird Show that aired at 5:45 a.m. Monday - Friday on WSM 650 AM radio station that was the home of the Grand Ole Opry on Friday and Saturday nights. They made videos with Eddie Crook Gospel Music Productions. They recorded albums, eight track tapes and later cassettes and CDs in Nashville. They performed at an Amish Festival in Pennsylvania along with The Primitive Quartet and others. Stuart Wyrick joined as singer, musician and bus driver around 1984 or 1985. The Betterway Quartet entertained for over 30 years. Here is a partial list of members of Betterway from 1978- 2014: Jerry Cole, Sr., Bill Turner, Neal Walker, Dannie Peters, Gale Lee, Stuart Wyrick, Shannon Walker- Manager, Paul Carter, Darrell Williams, Arnold Branton, Scott Payne, Vic Graves, Wade Brantley, Ronnie Kitts, Johnny Raley, Jonathan Brogan, Kenny Dryer, Jerry Cole, Jr., Savannah Cole Brogan (daughter of Jerry Cole, Sr.).D. Sumner and the Stamps, The Primitive Quartet, The Inspirations, The Sego Brothers and Naomi, The Cathedrals, The Isaacs, and The McCameys. For the three remaining original members there are good memories. For the rest of the living members of Betterway, there are dreams to resurrect the group and go forward.

Search Add 6 Deep Water Reunion The Deep Water Reunion Members circa 1966 - 1970: Barbara Raney Bob Hayes Jerry Miller Brent Webster Brad Kamp Keith Skue History: C.f. "The Rivermen" formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in the early-to-mid 1960s: [a3576197] The Rivermen recorded and released a couple of singles within their local, Little Rock market before disbanding. A couple of years later, The Deep Water Reunion emerged on the scene in New Orleans when former "Rivermen" Jerry Miller, Barbara Raney, and Bob Hayes reunited there. The band played locally and even appeared on Bourbon Street before beginning a more extensive, two year tour. The tour eventually brought them to the upper midwest. In early 1968 they traveled to Nashville to record a single for RCA Records: "Ruby Foo." While the band had developed something of a regional following, it was during their tour through the upper midwest that they recorded the bulk of their material. They recorded two live albums in St. Paul, Minnesota over a couple of nights in the late spring / early summer of 1968. They returned to the area the following year to record their only studio album, "DWR", in Minneapolis. While some have come to think of them as "a Minnesota band" in the years since they disbanded, they were truly an Arkansas band with a Minnesota connection that only emerged later in their career. The Deep Water Reunion's unique renderings of some of the most popular songs of the late 1960s had kept them in demand for several years, and they have retained a sort of cult following to this day. But by the early 1970s the members again went their separate ways. Subsequently, members Hayes and Miller played as solo artists and in other bands throughout the midwest (and beyond), while Barbara Raney continued as a solo artist, and had a regional country rock hit in 1983. Singles / 7" releases: "Ruby Foo / I Wanna Know" RCA Victor ‎– 47-9609 (1968) [r4688909] "It's All Over Now Baby Blue / Break My Mind" (Self released / Jerral, 1970) LPs: 1968: "Deep Water" -- Recorded "live at The Showboat." 1968: "Deepwater (161)" -- Recorded "live at The Showboat." Note: As both of these live albums were recorded at the same venue and share the same center labels, they are sometimes misunderstood as a single album with a re-issue. What differentiates each are different setlists, different matrix numbers, and different album jacket artwork. 1969: "DWR" - Studio album recorded at Sound 80 in Minneapolis, and released on the band's own "Jerral Records" imprint. Radio Play: "Cindy's Crying" Following the 1969 release of "DWR", this cover of a Tom Paxton song became a signature tune on Clyde Clifford's cutting-edge "Beaker Street" program on KAAY 1090 out of Little Rock. While KAAY's 'clear channel' status helped the band's rendition reach a very dedicated audience, the song was never released as a single. Today their rendition is both true to the underground status of the band and the nature of the Beaker Street program, itself. In other words it has become truly iconic. Name Variations: The Deep Water Reunion is rendered as "Deep Water" (live album / labels), "Deepwater" (cover, live album / 161), and "Deep Water Reunion" ("DWR", cover - Jerral.)

They are also owner of No Fear records After playing as a live act or DJs in many important events in Canada, Czech Republic and France during 3 years NOIRDEGOUT create his own label called NO FEAR RECORDS on December 2005. The first release on this label is an EP made by NOIRDEGOUT themselves and called FIRST ASSAULT EP . Great surprise, this records was RECORDS OF THE MONTH" on French music magazine "TRAX"! (and remixed by famous French producer SCAN X), but was also NUMBER ONE ON DAVE CLARKE'S PLAYLIST , played by Laurent Garnier, Fabrice Lig, Vince Watson, Paul Nazca... !!! The SECOND SHOT EP is also a success, and, as the "first assault", this record is NUMBER 1 ON DAVE CLARKE'S PLAYLIST with the track "Consumed" but also number 7 in this chart with the track "Sharks Bay" !!! The THIRD WAY EP was a melodic and emotional EP, deeper than their first releases. The NOIRDEGOUT releases, Live-act , and DJ set were a mix of many influences like Detroit techno (Kenny Larkin, Underground Resistance, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson & Derrick May), Electro (Anthony Rother, Arpanet ), German techno (Heiko Laux, Johaneis Heil, Beroshima) ,and of course the French techno sounds of Laurent Garnier , Vitalic, The hacker and many mores!!! After some other releases were published on Initial cut & White noise records (Dave Clarke's label) The duo no longer exists now.

Search Add 6 Giuseppe Chelo GIUSEPPE CHELO (Singer of Sardinian folklore). Born in Sassari in 1938, Giuseppe Chelo is still considered Osilese, as his origins are from Osilo, precisely from the district of San Lorenzo. After a period of careful and passionate apprenticeship, during which he listened to numerous established singers, Giuseppe Chelo happily made his debut at Cargeghe in 1958, along with Chiccheddu Mannoni and guitarist Adolfo Merella. After the official debut at Cargeghe, Giuseppe Chelo performed in Narbolia, this time together with Antonio Nuvoli and guitarist Nicolino Cabizza. But his usual companion became Tonino Canu, as the harmony between the two was as natural as it was perfect, and the performances benefited visibly. They basically represented two rather different ways of singing, but perhaps for this reason the evenings were enriched, brighter and above all interesting for the audience that followed them with great attention and renewed passion. The record production of Giuseppe Chelo is rich and of quality, with considerable public acclaim, which contributed to its success in most of the squares of Sardinia. His performances have landed in Italy and abroad, with great success, as in Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Montecarlo and in other European and Italian cities. We recall that like Terzetto Sardinian, together with Canu and Fara, he recorded several records with the Italian RCA, in Rome. With the name of Duetto Logudorese, together with the guitarist Pietro Fara, he then recorded some tracks on 45 rpm, always in the Italian RCA studios. Among these, the piece entitled "Mi giamana a soldadu", which turned out to be completely popular even with the youngest, was particularly successful. In addition to those just mentioned, the most important recordings concern an LP, produced by UP in Rome, called "The new company of the Sardinian song", recorded together with the cantadore Mario Firinaiu, the guitarist Aldo Cabizza and the accordionist Peppino Pippia; also, "Canzoni fra i nuraghi", produced by Aedo, recorded with Pietro Fara and Peppino Pippia; finally, "Cantos traditionales sardos", produced by the publisher Solinas, accompanied by Antonio Marongiu and Peppino Pippia. Giuseppe Chelo ended his prestigious career in 1989, after 33 years of intense activity. His performances are currently limited to very few occasions, such as special occasions and celebrations and commemorations of other artists. And also on these occasions his talent, certainly among the greatest of the Sardinian guitar song, returns visible and still appreciated. Info: http://www.cantosardoachitarra.it

Search Add 6 Strip The Threads Strip The Thread’s short existence in 2001, which only lasted for a year, left a memorable impact upon the Dutch Straight Edge hardcore scene. At the time, there were very few European bands who played straight forward clean-cut hardcore, inspired by the ones from a recent past such as Chain of Strenght, Hands Tied, Mouthpiece and Over The Line. On top of that: Strip The Threads consisted of members who were committed to the Straight Edge, (formerly) being part of bands like Reaching Forward, Know Your Enemy, Abusive Action, Product X and One Day Closer. With a budget of no more than just a couple of euros, the band released a limited edition 6 song demo-tape that was recorded in someone’s basement within a day. It sold out immediately and has never been re-released ever since, not until the songs were re-recorded and released as the "Won't hold back" EP by NOT JUST WORDS records not until 2010, but including two new songs. A year after their last show Strip The Threads made a guest appearance at the final show of fellow band Reaching Forward in 2002, the last time that all of the original members got together to play for a completely packed Goudvishal (Arnhem/Holland). A demo, some shirts, a handfull of shows and an amazing EP is what's left of Strip The Thread's legacy. Strip The Threads was: Johan - vocals Arthur - guitar Harm / Arold - bass Daan - drums Strip The Threads on the EP-recording: Johan - vocals / guitar Ries - drums Arthur - guitar / bass

Search Add 6 Miomir Grujić Fleka Miomir Grujić – Fleka was a phenomenon in the urban culture of the 1980s and 1990s in Serbia, pushing many of the perceived boundaries of artistic creation. He launched a number of initiatives that had a strong influence on the development of urban culture. Among these were Klub Akademija (Club Academia), Radio Šišmiš (Bat Radio), and the Urbazona project. In the magazines and newspapers he edited or contributed to, he presented provocative and committed articles and graphic content. He worked as a visual artist from the mid to late 1980s, bringing to the existing art scene a different sensibility and attitude to artistic creation. At the end of the 1980s, because of his visual impairment, a new phase of performance and social engagement began, primarily through the unique audio format Radio Šišmiš (Bat Radio) and the Urbazone movement. He often referred to himself as “Public Clandestine” and explained this seemingly meaningless expression thus: “It indicates all the absurdity and inverted meaning which has been the hallmark of our reality. Any attempt to rebel with a different opinion causes indescribable suspicion in the environment.” “The artist is a public clandestine. The artist as a process, radiation that endures regardless of whether it is noted or ignored. Nonsense and absurdity, irony and cynicism are the features of the current reality, and at the same time the best means of unmasking and fighting against that kind of reality.”
