Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 7 | Rodney ScratchMaster Funk | Rodney Taylor | Rodney has been mixing for over 34 years. He started at the tender age of 13. Have a 40,000 plus record collection. He spins everythng from house to Disco to the oldies. But hes mainly into House Muzik. He started out spinning the Chicago style house. All the stuff they played on the old radio station WBMX. Now hes more into the Deep House side of things. Started out mixin with tape decks. Dont play like yall never did that. Then he got 1 Technic table and a Gemini . Use to copy songs off the radio, then edit out the part where the radio DJ ran his mouth too much. Put some intro and outros into it, then boom. Started buying his records from a shop in chicago called Imports inc. Chip E and Derrick Carter himself use to work there. Also went to State Street Records and Gramaphone and Hot Jams. Gramaphone and Hot jams are still standing to this day. People use to ask him to put songs on a cassette for them back in the day. A little while after that, he started makin his own Mix tapes. Using those 90 minute BASF Chrome cassettes. Man, those were the days. He still has alot of those mixes layin around somewhere. Started selling those for 7.00. Did his share of the little house parties back in the day. Hes from the burbs, but Chicago had some of the best parties in the world back then. Man, every big name DJ right now use to rock all over the city. He started out taggin along with them. Got into most of the parties for free. He will never forget the night when a few DJs didnt show up. And the head DJ let him on. He didnt have his records so he used the other DJs records. It was after that party that people started to recognize his skills on the decks.NOW, he spins alot with CDs. Its much easier to transport from party to party. Instead of carrying 10 or 15 heavy record crates. He refuses to use the new software which allows alot of DJs to use the Beat match feature or allow the software to help the DJ in what ever way. Every now and then, he still pulls out the Vinyl to show the new up and coming DJs how its really done. Rodney now has his own record labels, RodSMFunk Records, Funk N Fro Records, & A-Town Digital Records to add to his claim. Specializing in House music. With genres such as Jackin House, Soulful House, Deep House, and Afro House. Already has more then 10 tracks under his belt. And countless Reworks of top classic tracks that is getting alot of attention worldwide. |

Search | Add | 7 | Grover Sales Jr. | Teacher and writer, credited for liner notes and photography. Born: 1920 in Louisville, KY Died: February 14, 2004 in Tiburon, CA During a career that spanned 50 years Sales wrote about jazz, film and cultural politics and published widely in the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, the Tiburon Ark and Gene Lees' Jazzletter. He wrote three books: Jazz: America's Classical Music, a biography of John Maher and, with his wife Georgia, The Clay-Pot Cookbook, which sold more than 800,000 copies. Sales was also publicist for the Monterey Jazz Festival from its birth in 1958 until 1965, and for the hungry i nightclub. He also did freelance publicity work for artists such as Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Judy Garland and Dick Gregory, and wrote liner notes for several Fantasy recordings. Over the years, he taught jazz history courses at Stanford University, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, San Francisco State University and the JazzSchool. Sales became a jazz fan at 16, after hearing a broadcast of Benny Goodman's band with drummer Gene Krupa, and later became what he called "an inveterate Ellington groupie" after hearing a recording of "Black And Tan Fantasy". After serving in the Army Air Corps in Southeast Asia during World War II, Sales studied at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and then settled in the Bay Area, where he received a BA in history from the University of California at Berkeley. Search | Add | 7 | R.O.O.O.M | Romagna,Ronno, Stamina, DNA | Lead singer Romagna, producer/guitarist Ronno, and rappers Stamina and DNA all have something in common besides their love for music: they all have a great sense of self-belief, do their own thing, and have their own personal drive. You couldn’t meet four more different people; their backgrounds are all varied, and they each have their own particular musical talent, but they all work together in perfect harmony within the group. Ronno, Romagna, DNA, and Stamina have been involved with R.O.O.O.M since 2003. The group members themselves describe what they do as ‘urban pop with just that little bit extra’. The raps give it a hip-hop edge, the vocals are on the poppy side. On stage, Ronno, Romagna, DNA, and Stamina sure know how to put on a show, and their music can’t fail to move anyone who hears it. Although music should always be about having a good time, R.O.O.O.M’s lyrics are definitely not an afterthought, as with all good music. |

Search | Add | 7 | Wreckless Opp. | US Heavy/Power Metal (early), Crossover (later) band from Sandusky, Ohio. Wreckless Opp. is short for Wreckless Opposition. The band used this abbreviated name on every release until the 1997 CD "Face to Face". This was the band's only release after the departure of founding guitarist [a=Cole Barton], and last release before their early 1998 dissolution. Formed in 1989 primarily as a cover band called Reckless Opposition (often shortened to Reckless Opp.). As they began writing original material they split with [a=Jim Buehrle] & [a=Shane Risk] (who then together formed [a=Big Risk]), added the "W" to the name, and released their first demo of original material in 1991. After a series of lineup changes (and an instrument change for founding-drummer turned singer [a=Dan Beidelschies]), they recorded their first full-length tape in 1996 shortly after recruiting second guitarist [a=Derek McGill]. After the release of this album, but before the end of 1996, founding guitarist [a=Cole Barton], drummer [a=Joe Stuckert] and McGill both left the band, and the band went on to record another album in 1997 after finding new members [a=Rob McDonald (3)] (Guitar) and [a=Brad DeHaven] (Drums). In early 1998 the group disbanded. When Barton and Stuckert left they were working on more new material, and it has been rumoured that the band many go back to the studio to record this new material in the future. In 2015 [a=Cole Barton] joined [a=Vatican (5)].

Author of ‘Caruso On Records’ Aida Favia-Artsey was born December 5th, 1904 in Russia, and died on February 14th, 1998, at the age of 93, in Westchester, NY. Her father, Raffaele Favia, a Russian baritone of Italian descent, sang and taught professionally, and he and his daughter even made a record together with Victor in 1920, although it was never published. She started record collecting in late 1930s and corresponded with a lot of old-time Opera stars, such as Titta Ruffo, Geraldine Farrar, and some other rather unknown artists such as Edith Helena and Fritzi Scheff - the former later appeared on the TV show "Life begins at 80" with the help of Ms. Favia-Artsay in 1955. From 1950s to 70s she made some private LP reissues from her collection, mostly with Edward J. Smith. Also, she even provided some of Mapleson Cylinders that were missing from the NYPL's collection. Her final article appeared on Opera Quarterly, Fall of 1993.

Search | Add | 7 | Isobel Caldwell | Born in Hong Kong and raised mostly in Naarm, Isobel Caldwell is an artist who weaves together her reflections and observations on life experiences with an intricate and meditative style. With a delicate balance of soft, soaring vocals, and lilting guitar arrangements, her music has been described as a warm hug; the perfect tonic for a weary mind. Isobel began writing songs at the tender age of 7, when her Mum made her some books to write stories and poems in. This evolved further after moving to Kulin Nations land in 2005, first writing songs with piano, and then with guitar, which she took to the streets busking in the CBD as a teenager. After leaving school, Isobel studied jazz performance, and she brings elements of many genres to her sound and shows, drawing on the styles she has fallen in love with over the years. Exploring the different textures in her sound and writing, she takes great influence from artists such as Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones, Fiona Apple and Missy Higgins (to name a few of many). Expressive and emotive vocals aside, Isobel’s signature ability to make the simplest, everyday observations laden with meaning and emotional subtext has both a grounding and boundless effect, always seeking to delve a little deeper into the significance of everything around us. With a wealth of performing experience under her belt as a band member of soul/funk 8 piece The Mamas, and ⅕ of wonky rock sweethearts Quality Used Cars, 2022 is set to be a monumentous year for Isobel, where she will release her debut album ‘Duty of Care’, a chronicle of various experiences and processes from the past 3 years.

Unique to Sixxcess’s sound, instead just rapping, uses a harmonic blend, with hard hitting lyrics, while demonstrating clean lyrics and swag to match. The lyricism is crisp, the verses well annunciated and the messages evoke honesty. Clearly influenced by early-mid-‘90s, Sixxcess definitely brings class back to hip-hop through his unmatched sound and straight to the point message, With commanding stage presence, he captivates the audience and delivers on his promise to be an MC with "Swag", and his community eating it up, marking a very promising beginning. First impressions are everything, and once you meet Sixxcess you’ll know that he’s a man about business. Sixxcess is not just your average artist rapping to the women only, he has hard hitting tracks for the streets and most importantly has a message in his music, stemming from the name Sixxcess Quotes: “I am Sixxcess so I shall be Sixxcessful” |

Search | Add | 7 | Lily Pond Orchestra | Douglas JP Lee | Lily Pond Orchestra is an ambient/space music project of Douglas JP Lee (1953-2011) - self-taught musician, guitarist and composer from Massachusetts, USA. Douglas started playing guitar at the age of 9, inspired by The Beatles, and at the age of 13 he was already playing in his first band. His interest in electronic music evolved from "Forbidden Planet" movie, which he saw in childhood. By the mid 1970's, Lee was already experimenting with electronic sounds and tape manipulations, but most of his ambient was created much later, already in the digital age, since he was mostly using software synthesizers to compose and record his music (referring to himself as a "MIDIdiot"). Among his inspirations Douglas was mentioning The Beatles, 60's San Francisco and European prog bands, Charles Ives, John Cage, Edgar Varèse, Krzysztof Penderecki, Brian Eno, Terry Riley, etc. Douglas JP Lee died suddenly on April 5, 2011 at the hospital. Some of his albums are released by Earth Mantra net-label, and many archived stuff is available for downloading at his official website. |

In order to obfuscate the fact that these are the actual performers, they were credited as "Friends of Musicians in Tokyo". In addition to various CD releases, there was also a tie in Sega Mega CD game, a book and a laserdisc. The project ceased activity some time in 1992.
